The Life of Jesus Christ by: Dr. Pete Norris

Today, on Power in the Word. Come on somebody, get full of knowledge, get full of revelation. If I want grace and peace multiplied in my life according to Peter, then how is it going to happen? It's going to flow out of me. Why? I'm going to multiply peace and grace in my life. Why? Get knowledge of the Messiah, Yeshua. My God, He's so alive, He's so much. Listen, we need to take our focus on the spirit realm and pull from the inside and stop pulling or saying or even thinking about the external realm. External realm doesn't exist in the sight of Christ. That's why He said, I'm not moved by this world. That's why Paul said, I'm in between the hard place, where to stay, where to go. But I'm going to go because it's time to check out of here. Welcome to Power in the Word. Sometimes it's difficult for believers to understand and realize that the Holy Spirit of Christ lives in each of us. So today, Dr. Norris focuses on the life of Christ that lives in us and brings us all the benefits such as love, peace, joy. This message is a great revelation of our relationship with Jesus Christ. As you stay with us, be encouraged. We're going to talk tonight about the life of Jesus Christ. And that's not what you think. The title ain't what you think it's going to be about. But I want you to ask yourself tonight, where's the life of Jesus Christ at in us? So 2 Corinthians 3 and 18 says this, but we all, how many people? All. With unveiled face beholding. Now the word beholding, anytime you see it in the Bible, it says take a look at this. Look as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord. Look in a mirror, the glory of the Lord. But we all with unveiled face beholding, looking as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord. What is that saying, guys?

That's saying that He's looking inside of us and we're the glory, right? We're the glory of the Lord on this earth. Look at somebody and say, I'm the glory of the Lord on this earth. And we're being transformed into the same image from glory to glory. Now I've always heard people preach this, that we're going from glory to glory to glory to glory to glory to glory. That's not what it says. It says there's only two glories. You're going from glory to the glory just as by the Spirit of the Lord. So I was laying in bed the other night and the Holy Spirit just really began to speak to me about the life of Jesus Christ and how that's living on the inside of us. Now I want you to really think about that. We say, oh, I believe that. But do we believe it all the time? Go to Colossians chapter 1 verse 26. That is the mystery which was hidden. What's the word mystery mean? The secrets. The secret things of God which were hidden from angels and from mankind for ages and generations but has now been revealed to His saints, God's people. So there was a mystery that's been hidden. What was that mystery? The mystery of Jesus on the inside of us. And I want you to get this now. The Bible says they put a veil upon Moses' face, right? He come down from the veil. That was not because he was so bright that he would light up everybody. That was because the veil, the glory that was on him was going to be removed. And if he didn't have the veil on, they just saw the glory that he had begin to leave. But the Bible says that you and I will have the glory that will never leave. Because we're being transformed into the image of his dear son.

So the Bible said that Moses come down off the mount and he covered up his face. And it said the reason he covered up his face was because of the glory that was going to leave. Now you've got to understand, the glory ain't never going to leave you. You don't get that. The glory ain't never going to leave you. If you'd look in the mirror, you'd see the glory. What did he tell Mary and Martha? He said, if you'd have looked at me long enough. And she said, why didn't you heal him? Why didn't you come three days ago? He said, because the glory of the Lord is about to appear. Now what was the glory? Now think about it a minute. Lazarus did not resurrect. He just came alive. He did not resurrect. Because something that resurrects don't ever die. Lazarus died again. Right? Come on now, stay with me. So Jesus had to be the firstborn from the dead. Or even Lazarus would have been the firstborn of the dead. Because he resurrected before Jesus did. He didn't resurrect. Oh, come on now. So the glory that you and I are holding, behold, is the glory that comes through the resurrection. Because this mystery, this secret has been hidden from ages. From the angels and from all of mankind, all through the ages. Now who had that glory? Adam had the glory before the fall.

Because he was just like God. Now the Bible said, I looked up a scripture. And the Bible said, they heard him walking in the cool of the day. Now I've heard people preach that he walked with him. That's really not correct. The Bible said he heard him walking in the cool of the day. And if you go look that up in the Hebrew, it says they were walking together as one. So when we understand the transition of what's happening here. This mystery, this glory that we're being changed from image to image to image to the Son. were destined before we were ever born to be in the image of Christ. Right? Now look at 27. Stay with me. God in his eternal plan chose to make known to them how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery which is Christ in you and among you the hope and the guarantee of realizing that glory. Now think about it a minute. You and I, the hope is in Christ Jesus. So this is a hoping thing. So that means that it didn't take place yet. Oh, you're not ready for that scenario. So that means that there's a glory that you and I got by being born again but we're being transformed by the knowledge of him into a deeper level of glory. So that that glory will prevail through us and we'll be formed in Christ in a deeper and a different dimension. That's the thing that Paul prayed for. He said, Lord I want to know you and the power of your resurrection and the fellowship of your fellowship conformable even unto death. In other words, Paul was not dying, he was seeing. See the church has taught us we need to die. You're dead as you're ever going to be. You need to see. Because you're looking at a death in the life. So that's why the Bible said that life

has swallowed up death. So for you and I to understand that we are life and we've swallowed up death, the Bible said the last enemy shall be death. But the last enemy has already overcome because death can't contain us because we're a new creation and we've stepped into this mystery, into this glory where there's no more death. The glory will never leave us. It'll never be taken away. We don't have a veil anymore. He stripped the veil, tore it from the top to the bottom and removed the veil which was flesh. Oh, I'm fixing to go somewhere. Because I'm telling you right now, the glory of the Lord, listen to me very carefully, the glory of the Lord is going to manifest in your mortal body. Now, go to Romans 8 and 29. Stay with me. For those whom he foreknew and loved, he chose beforehand. One translation said he hand-picked you. Turn to someone and say, I was hand-picked. I must be special. I must be special if I was hand-picked. Because the Bible said I was chosen him before the foundation of the world. I was made accepted in the beloved. Come on somebody. So I was hand-picked. He also predestined to be conformed. He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son and ultimately share in his complete sanctification. So that he would be firstborn, the most beloved and honored among many believers. So now watch this. We would have been predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son. How does that happen? So I began to ask the Lord. The Lord, I don't understand. I know that when I got born again the glory of the Lord came alive. He said, but Pete, you don't understand. Because the more you get to know me, the more the manifestation of sonship. Because the Holy Spirit has been sent to tell you who you are. The Holy Spirit has not come to operate in the church and us be all spiritual. See, here's the thing. The world will destroy you if you don't overcome the world.

Jesus said, I'm in the world but I'm not of it. And be you encouraged because I've overcome the world. You'll have tribulation but be encouraged because I've overcome it. So if he's overcome it and he's made us more than an overcomer, then somebody needs to let me understand why we are not overcomers. Why? Because of the glory that's resting on us. Now go to Galatians chapter 4 verse 19. We're going to see it again in Galatians. My little children from whom I am again suffering birth pains until Christ is completely and permanently formed and molded within you. Now everybody will tell you that happens at the new birth. Then he wouldn't have said this if he did. See, everything, I want you to get a revelation. He poured him whole self into you. But his whole self ain't revealed out of you yet. But it shall be. You're completely full of him but the manifestation being revealed out of you isn't always the manifestation of him. Because the manifestation says, out of the abundance of the heart your mouth will speak. Death and life is in your tongue. Proverbs 18.21. So we've got to understand that what's coming out of us Oh Lord, thank you. Holy Spirit, I got this. What's coming out of us is the level of revelation we have. Your vocabulary determines your revelation. Love is not a manifestation. It's a reproduction of who you are. So what comes out of us in pain is the perfection of divine wine. That's why Jesus turned the water into wine as the first miracle. Because in the old covenant, what did they do? They turned the water into blood. Which meant death. He turned water into wine, which means a new creation and a fresh fruit and a reprocreation of who we are in Christ Jesus. Come on somebody. We ain't in an accident, baby. We're walking around with some squeezed stuff. The reason we go through the wine press is for the goodness to be pressed out. It's not to destroy us, it's to press out the perfection of who we are on the inside.

Listen, do you understand that when they take gold and they melt it, they know it's ready when they see their self in the gold. See, he's just refined in you. Because Jesus couldn't have resurrected if he hadn't been squeezed life out of him. Oh, that's what Gethsemane means, the wine press. Do you know what they do with the wine? They press it with their feet and squish all the bad products out and they just get the juice. See, he's waiting for the juice to come out of him. Somebody turned around and said, the juice is about to flow. See, you and I are the life of Jesus Christ on this earth. He ain't coming, he ain't going to do anything else, he ain't going to say anything else, he said everything he's going to say. Oh, he talks to me, he talks to you through this. Do I believe God can speak in an honorable voice? I certainly do. I think that's the fleshiest way he's going to talk to you though. If he's got to talk to you like that, you know you're a real carnal. Amen? Come on now, stay with me. When he's got to talk like that, he's a real carnal. That's why God don't talk to you like he used to talk when you first got born again, because your baby still ain't drinking, they're eating meat now. So he's not going to say everything because you ought to know some stuff by now. Now, what's 1 Corinthians 15 verse 49? As we have and as we have born the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly man. Think about it a minute. Were you born like everybody else? But then you were born from above by a heavenly dimension. Which one are you living in?

Listen, listen to me. The one that has the most drawing power is the one you live in. The one you know most about is the one you're living in. Because here's what we got to understand. What's living on the inside of me will live in my life, my whole life, and never manifest as long as I keep it contained. See, so what happens in our life, we have to be pressed to be pushed out of us. Because you can't grow without knowledge. Go to 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 6. Now watch this. For it is the God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness. Now, what was it shining out of? Now, I've heard people say, it shined into darkness. That ain't what it says. It says it's a shine out of darkness. So there was darkness and sometimes the light shined in. Remember Genesis? And God created the heavens and the earth. And darkness covered the face of the waters. And the Bible said the Holy Spirit hovered. How many of you know the word hovered in the Holy Spirit is the word Miriam in the actual Greek. In actual Hebrew. And that's where the Catholics get worship and Mary from. It's in the very first, second verse of the book of Genesis. Oh, we need to get somewhere. We don't know the difference between Mary and the Holy Spirit. Because Mary said, let it be according to your word. Right? The word has already manifested in Genesis 1 and 2. Because it already hovered. And the Bible said the word hovered in the Hebrew is the same identical word as overshadowed in the Greek. Oh, somebody ain't here. And so the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary. And she brought forth that son. She'd never been with a man.

So what overshadowed her overtook her. And then when she saw Elizabeth, you know the story. The baby on the inside of Elizabeth jumped, hadn't moved in six months. Because he was exactly three months older than Jesus. Because he was a forerunner. That means 90 days, right? That means he was one third older. Right? That's where you get 42 months of Jesus' ministry. And John only had a six month one. That makes 48. That makes 12. Four and eight is divine government. That's the purpose of God's plan. See, that's what the Old Testament's about. Come on, stay with me. You remember when Moses died, he had the law? Who come after Moses? Joshua, which means Yeshua. You see the pictures? Old prophetic revelation. What happened? He died. Moses, the law. And all of a sudden, Joshua, Yeshua come along. And he was birthed in a new creation. And then what happened? All of a sudden, then what happened? The judges came. How many judges were they? Twelve.

Isn't that amazing? How many disciples did we have when the Spirit of God fell? Twelve. Isn't that amazing? The revelation of what we're seeing here. We're seeing Jesus all along here in the revelation of the Old Covenant, birthed into the New Covenant. Yeshua showing up in Joshua and delivering the people and seeing the promised land. And then the twelve judges in the book of Judges, what did they do? They began to judge everything and recognize everything. But it was representation of the twelve disciples in the Old Covenant that brought the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts. Gosh, isn't God good? Look, he's planned everything out and everything's Jesus, man. We're full of Jesus. We're walking around, we're overloaded. I'm telling you, we're really overloaded. We've got revelation knowledge coming out of our ears. We're so full of revelation. That's why we're struggling because we don't know what to say. We want to act like everybody else. I don't want to look and act like anybody. I want to be me. I want to look like Jesus. act like Jesus, talk like Jesus, speak like Jesus, be the life of Jesus. So how do we change that? How do we get to the place in our lives that we understand that what's on the inside of us is really the life of Christ and ain't nothing at all? I tell you, God lit me up last week and He said, Pete, stop trying to love people

and let me love them through you. Think about that, guys. He wants to love people through you. He don't want you to love them. That's your flesh when you... Oh, play with me just a minute. Just stay with me just a minute. See, when you recognize you don't like somebody, you've got to discourage anybody. That's a flesh thing. You can't see that thing out of the Spirit because the Spirit's perfect. Perfect, it only sees Christ. Man, I'll tell you, I'm just happy. Go back to this. For it is God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, who has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. So he said there's going to come a time you're going to see Him face to face and you know what's going to happen? The knowledge of the glory. What did Isaiah prophesy? The knowledge of the glory of the Lord is going to cover the earth. Where's it going to come out of? Us. Come on somebody, get full of knowledge, get full of revelation. If I want grace and peace multiplied in the last quarter of Peter, then how's it going to happen? It's going to flow out of me. Why? I'm going to multiply peace and grace in my life. Why? Get knowledge of the Messiah, Yeshua. My God, He's so alive. He's so... Listen, we need to take our focus on the Spirit Rim and pull from the inside and stop pulling or saying or even thinking about the external rim. External rim doesn't exist in the sight of Christ. That's why he said I'm not moved by this world. That's why Paul said I'm in between the hard place, where to stay, where to go, but I'm going to go because it's time to check out of here. Let's go to seven now. I've got to get seven. But we have this treasure. What's this treasure? This mystery. This deposit in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God

and not of us. So he's put his power, he's put his secrets, he's put his dimension inside of these earthen bodies and now we're carrying around that earthen body. This is a temporary thing, man. I'll tell you how we're going to get out of here. We don't have to come out of here through death. We can come out of here through life. Life can get so big on the inside that your body can no longer carry it. How do you think William Brannan is going down the road and has a severe car wreck and he's about to die and he said look his wife's about to die on the side of the road and he said drag me over there to her and let me put my hand on her and she'll live. Now y'all would have been tore up and said where's my wife? My goodness, where's she at? He said get me to her and she'll live. Why? Because life didn't matter to him because he knew he was never going to die. You can't kill somebody dead. That's why Jesus said, you know, I have the power to lay it down, I have the power to take it up. John 10, 18. I have the power to lay it down, I have the power to take it up because I have a command from the Father. Now watch this. He was tested on the cross if that was true or not because he lost fatherhood and went to calling him God. So he lost that personal relationship on the cross but he knew he had a promise in the heart that was going to sustain him past his identity who the father was to him then. So he lost the identity of a father and he saw him as a God, as an existing one, as a creating one, as a dimension one, but he knew that the promise he had as a son was going to bring back the sonship at the resurrection because he knew the spirit that was inside of him was going to resurrect him and bring him out of that. See, you're not sure what you're going through, you're going to come out of it. Because you're not sure it's your inheritance or it might be just for good folk. Man, I'm telling you, he's alive. And let me tell you something, and I love Roger a tremendous amount, but Roger's situation don't change this God.

It didn't change my son. Amen? See, what this thing's ought to do is put a passion in you. It ought to make you get up early in the morning and say, Lord, I want to know you. I just want to know you. I want to be moved by what moves you. If it don't move you, it ought not to move me. Let me tell you something, when Jesus gets worried about your situation, you can get uptight then. An old wise preacher told me one time, an old Baptist preacher, a man of God married me and my wife. He said, son, he said, you ever go by a guide wire and a bird is there scratching his legs together trying to figure out what he's going to do, you get concerned. Think about it a minute. Let's go to 2 Peter 1, verse 19. So we have the prophetic word confirmed that you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your heart. Look, he's saying, what did he say a while ago? That he shined out of the darkness and shone in our hearts to the knowledge of the glory of the Lord. Oh, come on somebody. He's more alive than you think he is. He's more real than you give him credit for. He's not somebody just hitting the mist and every once you flip a coin, he's some kind of God. But you, listen to me, if the enemy can get you on your problem and can't get you on your purpose, you're never going to walk in it. Because the only reason the enemy wants to stop you is to stop your purpose. Because God has a... Here are my twenty-nine and eleven other plans and thoughts of you and they're good and they're not evil and I've got an expected end. Come on baby, turn to someone and say it's coming to an end. My pain is coming to an end, my struggle is coming to an end, my sorrow is coming to an end, my discouragement, my frustration, my depression, my oppression, all those things are coming to an end because I'm stepping into a place. I'm stepping into a place, I'm heading somewhere, but you've got to go to the place. See, the place ain't going to come to you, sometimes you've got to go to the place. See, God don't ever take you out unless He's got somewhere to take you into. But see, He won't ever take you out if you ain't ready to go in.

Ten spies went, which represents the what? Ten commandments. Come on somebody, old covenant. The ten spies went and what did they look? They said, there's giants in the land, man, we're like grasshoppers, there's giants back there. Joshua and Caleb, which represents the Jew and the Gentile, went there and said, look, we can take them. I like Joshua. He said, you want to take them today or in the morning? You let me know when you're ready. I like what David did. David went there and the Philistine was coming at him, El Goliath, and he said, can you tell me what I get for tearing him up? Because I'm fitting to tear him up. It's not by flesh or stuff, but I'm going to tear him up with the Spirit. And they tried to put a helmet on him, it was way too big for him, but he had a big God on the inside of him, didn't he? He said, so just tell me what I'm going to get, because there ain't no doubt I'm going to tear him up. And then he got on his chest and he cut off his head and he held it up and he said, I've got the authority now, I've tore it down, now I get all my stuff. See, you've got to understand that John the Baptist's head come off to end the old covenant, and Jesus died on the cross and resurrected to bring us alive, which was a new creation and manifestation. See, the tomb was not a tomb at all, it was a womb giving birth to a new creation in me and you. Somebody, you need to understand that we are not an accident just trying to happen. We've been planned a long time. We've been coming a long time. God don't waste the message, always remember that. Verse 20, knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation. Now, I'll read that again. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation. Look at 21. For prophecy never came by the will of a man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Now, how many of you know in the old covenant the Holy Spirit would rest upon the prophet, the priest, and the king? Just for service. But when you and I came along, Jesus released His Spirit into all of us. Now the Holy Spirit is the manifestation that's guiding and leading us. We don't even have the spirit of darkness anymore. If you did, you'd be a schizophrenic. You ain't got two natures, you'd be bipolar. Are you with me?

Anything with two heads is always a monster. Which head is driving you? The prophetic one? That you're prophesying into existence? Or the one that you really are? See, because sometimes you've got to prophesy your destiny until your destiny shows up and you can walk in it. So you can get to the door, but you can't get the key to open the door until you understand the destiny that you have a right to be in the room. As long as you understand yourself as a slave, you're never going to spend the night in the house. So you'll never go through the door even though you have the keys, which represents the authority. He said, I've given you the keys to the kingdom. But what are you going to do with the keys if you don't know where the car is at? Go to John chapter 1. Now watch this. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. Now I'm going to read that again. In him was life. Who's the him? And the life was the light of men. Verse 5. And the light shined into what? And the darkness did not comprehend it. In other words, they couldn't stop the darkness. Now I want you to get this, guys. In the darkness is where the manifestation of where Satan took his reign. Isaiah. Satan, I said, not Lucifer. Satan, I said. And the Bible said that Jesus said he saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. And then the Bible says that, oh, Lucifer. But he's not in the original Hebrew translation.

It does not say Lucifer. So we can't say we've taken it out of context and said that a third of the angels came with Lucifer because he was an archangel. That's not what it says in the scripture. The Bible says that a third of the angels were cast out of heaven. And he saw Satan fall like lightning. But you've got to understand in the book of Genesis, Satan, now listen to me very carefully, the cunning beast was not even a person in the book of Genesis. And he said he was a serpent, correct? Right? And he walked on two legs, right? I'm not going there. Because you get the spirit riled up in me, I'd be a mess. And when I say something that you'd walk out of here and say, oh, Lord, he's gone off the deep end. Because I am off the deep end. But I am going to say this. Satan was the darkness. And the Bible said that you and I have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his light. So that means there's two kingdoms. A kingdom of darkness and a kingdom of light, right? Now, Lucifer said, I will give you the kingdom if you'll bow down and worship me. And he said, we're only going to worship one God. He said, I'm going to take the kingdom, though. So after he died and resurrected, he resurrected and came back and he went to Haiti. He went to the darkness place. You want to call it hell, I'll call it hell with you. He went to hell and he shook the keys. He didn't go in there and preach a message. He went in there and shook the keys and said, this is the keys to death, hell and the grave, now y'all can get on up because I've delivered you. And the Bible said, according to Isaiah, that hell was enlarged not for people, but for the darkness. And so, in all four Gospels, everywhere you find hell,

you're going to find Gehenna, or you're going to find Sheol, or you're going to find the grave. You're never going to find eternal damnation. Now, I'm not saying there's not a hell, there's a hell. A lot of people are in it right now. Out in Jesus' darkness, man. You been there? But he'll shine a light in you. That's what me and you are, we're light barriers. Look at somebody and say, I'm fit to shine on you. Let's go to 1 John chapter 2, verse 2, and I'm going to close. And he himself is a perpetuation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world. Hallelujah. The whole world. It's a done deal, man. It's over. The fat lady, get on up and sing, dance, whatever, that's a bad choice of words. Fiddle, play, or convey, play, because it's over. Take up the offering. It's finished. Think about that a minute. I want you to leave here with one thing on your mind. Stop focusing on you, and focus on him. Because you don't live anymore. It's the life of Jesus Christ is manifested in this mortal flesh. So I want you to look at it this way. I'm not Pete anymore. I've got his spirit. I'm Jesus Christ on the earth. Oh boy, I can see this coming. Think about it. His life is inside of us. Guys, come on. Come on. Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you tonight for your presence. I thank you for the Holy Spirit. I thank you for the manifestation of your word. I thank you for revelation knowledge. Father, I thank you for the life of Jesus Christ inside of us. And Father, I release that life in this place tonight through the gifts, through a word of wisdom, word of knowledge, special faith, gifts of healing, interpretation of tongues and tongues, all the gifts of the Spirit. Father, I pray, touch your people in Jesus' name.

And Father, I speak to the light inside of them that it comes on brighter in Jesus' name. And everybody say it. Amen. God bless you. Thank you so much for joining us today at Power in the Word.
