The Marks of a Servant Leader

We're gonna dig into the Word today. We're gonna go to Numbers, Numbers chapter 14. Numbers chapter 14. We have been in a sermon collection called Built Different because in 2026, we are declaring that Legacy Church is built different, all right? If we are gonna be anything this year, y'all, we are gonna be built different. We're not gonna go with the flow. We're not gonna go along with the current of culture, but we will be built different. We will stand out. We will move different. We will speak different. We will think different. We will move with the Holy Spirit because God's called us to carry, like Caleb in this scripture, a different spirit. We are built different. So this is what we're declaring in 2026, and our pilot passage comes to us from Numbers chapter 14, verse 24 about a particular person who really, truly, y'all, stuck out like a sore thumb in the midst of Israel's landscape. His name is Caleb, and the Bible says, God says about him that he has a different spirit. So once you have Numbers 14 open in your Bible, you can go ahead and stand with me for the reading of the Word of God.

And before I read, and as we stand, I thought it would be most appropriate just to have you standing. I wanted to do something today. I wanna celebrate my wife. Woo! I wanna celebrate her because today, everybody say today. Today. Is her 36th birthday. Woo! 36th birthday. She's sitting down because she's got Ezra, but we got some flowers for you. Woo! Oh, yeah. I know y'all can't see it because y'all are standing up and she's sitting down, but. Let's just sing her happy birthday. How's that? ♪ Happy birthday to you ♪ ♪ Happy birthday to you ♪ ♪ Happy birthday, dear Allison ♪ ♪ Happy birthday to you ♪ Woo! Today, 36 years. This is crazy. And we have been married for 12. We've known each other for 14. That's a big chunk of your life.

You know? Just wanna bring that up. Happy birthday, my love. Love you so much. Grateful we get to do this together. Amen. Well, let's read the Bible. Numbers 14, 24 says this. But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went and his descendants shall possess it. I know we've read it a lot this month, but let's read it one more time out loud all together. But my. Servant. Did you get that? But my. Servant. Say it one more time. But my. Servant. We'll talk about that today. But my servant. Caleb. Because. He has a different spirit. And has. Followed me fully.

I will. Bring into the land into which he went. And. His descendants shall possess it. Come on, that's what we talking about this year. In 2026, we are built different. And because we are built different, God is gonna bring us into our promised places. Can I get two good amens? I intend on getting everything God has for me out of this new season. How about you? 2026 is gonna be the best year of our lives. In Jesus' name. We're going in. We're going in. To our promised places. Every place that God has guaranteed me and my descendants, we going in. I don't care how many giants are there. I don't care what sort of fear that the enemy tries to sow as I move ahead. No, no, no. We are going in. In Jesus' name. Amen. You can be seated. Today, what I wanna do is just really examine that phrase. My servant, Caleb. All right, so don't y'all get scared

because I'm mentioning serving. As a local church pastor, what I have learned after, oh, I don't know, 20 years in ministry, that whenever pastors talk about serving saints, start to get nervous because you think that at the end, I'm gonna do a. sign up for children's ministry. Now, I'm not, but if the Holy Spirit just hit your heart in that moment, then maybe you need to sign up for children's ministry because I'm telling you one thing about our legacy kids, y'all. It is incredible what God does amongst our children. I promise you that. So if you have a heart for kids, then I would encourage you to sign up to serve. But I know this as a local church pastor, whenever a pastor starts to talk about serving, then saints get a little bit nervous. But there is something very significant about this leader that we are studying this month named Caleb, because whenever God called him out, he said, that guy right there is my servant. Notice the possessiveness that God uses whenever he declares that Caleb is his servant. He is saying, this guy right here is my servant. Now, you might think, that's not really that big a deal, pastor. I mean, after all, isn't this what all of us are called to be, a servant?

And yes, it is. The Old Testament, the New Testament talks about God's people as servants. Even in the Old Testament, whenever God surveys the land of all of Israel, he says, Israel is my servant. He talks about the descendants of Jacob as his servants. But that's more of a collective label. And when he speaks to Caleb, he makes it personal. He individualizes it. And you might think, well, surely God said that about all sorts of people in the Old Testament. But after some further study this week, I learned that that wasn't actually the case. If you look through the entire Old Testament, you will find that there are only 13 people that God looks at as individuals and says, you are my servant. You would think there'd be a whole lot, right? But nope, only 13. And what's interesting about these 13 is that one of them is Nebuchadnezzar, which at the time is an evil king. He's not even a good guy. But God says, this guy right here is my servant, meaning I am going to use him as an instrument of judgment upon my own people. So in that sense, a bad, evil king was used as a servant of God, which is still possible today, by the way.

Like God can use the last person that you think that he should as a servant of his own purposes. I hate to tell you that, but that is the case. So one of them being Nebuchadnezzar, not even a good guy, we got 12 left. And I just gotta point to the Messiah as one of those because of course, God kind of has to say this about his son, Jesus, right? So the prophet Isaiah prophesying about the forthcoming Messiah says this, he is my servant. So now you only have 11 people left. Who in the world would these 11 people be? Well, you might remember in the book of Job, the oldest book in the Bible, whenever God tells the devil, have you considered my servant, Job, right? So you hear it there. So now there's only 10 left. We've got Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I mean, these are the studs of scripture. I mean, these are the heroes of faith. This is the one that Hebrews 11 talks about. You've got King David, right? I mean, you've got Isaiah, the one who released the most prophecies about the Messiah out of every other prophet in the Old Testament. I mean, you got some dogs in this list of just 13 people.

And out of this list of 13, you mean to tell me that Caleb is one of them? Yes. God points out Caleb and he said, this guy right here is my servant. This is my servant. Now, here's what's crazy about this list of 13 is that there is only one person in this list that is not a biological Israelite, one who is not ethnically a Judahite, and that is Caleb. Caleb was not supposed to be in this hall of faith because Caleb is a Kenizzite. He's not even a biological Israelite. He doesn't have a prophetic pedigree. He doesn't come from a line of pastors or priests. He's not somebody that anybody would see as special. He is not supposed to be somebody that God uses. Even if you look at his life and his ministry, he's not somebody who operates in supernatural miracles. He doesn't do so much of the things that we look at in the Old Testament. And we say, look at this prophet right here. He's so great because he did all of these wonderful things. No, Caleb is simply a layman. with a different spirit. Caleb is the most normal, routine, average Joe, so to speak, but he stood out in God's eyes, why? Because he had a different spirit, because he had a different attitude,

and that attitude produced unique actions. And that's why attitude's gotta come before actions, because when you have the right attitude, then your behavior will produce the right actions. When you don't have the right attitude, your behavior will produce the wrong actions, and when you have the wrong attitude, and you take the wrong actions, you are prohibited from inhabitation. If you wanna go into your promised places, first and foremost, you're gonna have to have your internal posture in the right place. And that's why out of these 12 spies, and you gotta get this, Caleb is one of 12 of two million men. There are two million men who could have been picked as a representative of each one of the tribes, and yet God chooses this one guy, Caleb. Out of two million people, there's only 12 men, and then out of the leadership team, these are leaders, by the way, out of the leadership team, there's 12 of them, and then only two of them have the right attitude and are prepared to take the right actions, but only one of them, who is Caleb, does God point at and say, my servant, you have a different spirit. So you gotta understand the rarity or the uniqueness that Caleb displays throughout his life, and it's really important that whenever God looks at him and says, my servant, and takes that possession of Caleb,

my servant, you have to understand that Caleb is truly sticking out as unique in his generation. People who live from an identity as a servant are a rarity. See, most people serve, but very few people see themselves as a servant. When we talk about serving, and this is why I think saints get nervous when pastors talking about serving, is because when we see serving, even through the lens of scripture, we don't see serving as a facet of my identity, we more so see it as some sort of activity that I engage from time to time because I should. So we get guilted into serving. Well, not enough people are serving in kids, or not enough people are serving in parking, or not enough people are willing to serve as ushers, and so that we get guilted into serving, and we say, well, I'm serving because I should. No, built different leaders don't serve because they should. Built different leaders serve because they are servants. Their activity is just a byproduct of their identity. They're not serving because they should, they're serving because it's who they are. And that's why this is so unique and it's so rare, because most people don't serve out of identity, they simply look at it as a series of activities that they should be taking for God as a good moral Christian person. A built different leader doesn't serve because they should,

a built different leader serves because they're a servant. A built different leader doesn't serve because they have to. They're not doing it because they're being controlled, because they're being manipulated, because they're being forced or coerced. They're not serving because they have to, they are serving because they are a servant. Now, let me take it one step further before I get into these marks, because I researched all of the actions that Caleb took, and I realized, man, the reason why God pointed him out and said, you are my servant, is because he did a number of different things, I wrote down 10, that set him apart and made him extremely unique in his generation. But as a built different leader, we don't serve because we should. As a built different leader, we serve because it's who we are. As a built different leader, we don't serve because we have to. Can't believe I gotta serve again. OMG, another planning center request. I'm not serving because I have to. No, I'm serving because I am a servant. And get this, here's the last thing that I wanna bring up. A built different leader does not serve to get something, but built different leaders serve simply because they are servants. And I think this is a reality for so many believers,

especially when they have an ambition for ministry. They serve so they can get something rather than simply serve because it is who they are as a servant. Whenever you serve to get something, your serving will only be seasonal. Right, you won't serve on, it'll just be a seasonal thing. Like, okay, I'm gonna serve in hopes of acquiring that, and when I get to where I think I should be within the time frame that I've set for myself, if I don't get that thing, then I'm going to quit. Right, so that's not called serving. Let's just get very, very clear about what biblical serving is. Whenever you serve to get something, you're not actually serving at all. And don't get it twisted, there's nothing wrong with trading time for reward, but that is called work. Not serving, okay? And so let's just call it what it is and get really clear. Whenever I'm serving, I'm not serving to get anything, I'm serving because I'm a servant. And it doesn't mean there won't be rewards, of course there will be rewards. It doesn't mean that we won't hope for certain things, of course we will, and that is fine, but we've just got to make sure that our motivations have been purified by the Spirit,

and serving is not simply seen as an activity that I have to do if I wanna get a certain thing, but serving is something that I get to do because God calls me a servant. Are you with me? I realize I'm talking about serving, I realize I'm talking about serving, and I get it, it's hard to say amen when you're talking about serving, but nonetheless, we need to hear it because we are servants. In fact, in Romans chapter six, verse 22, the Bible says this, that we have all been freed from sin, and now we have been made servants. You are a servant. If you are gonna be somebody in 2026 that truly walks in a different spirit, if you're gonna be somebody in this new season that truly is built different, you are gonna have to decide that you will accept the identity that Christ paid for on the cross for you to live out and walk in, which is you are a servant. Listen, I realize this is hard. I do, I get it, it's very, very hard because if you study the Scripture and you look for an antonym, the opposite, the inverse, of serving in the Scripture, here's what you're gonna find. What is the opposite of having a serving spirit

according to the Bible? You ready for it? Entitlement. It's literally the opposite. If a servant is anything, they're anything but entitled. If a servant is anything, look at this parable. Whenever Jesus was training his disciples in Luke chapter 17, he said this. So you also, which by the way, that's us. So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, don't say, pay me. When you have done all that you were commanded, say, we are unworthy servants. We've only done what is our duty. We've only done what is our duty. This is my job, I'm a servant. But entitlement will have you thinking that you deserve extra appreciation for doing the bare minimum. Well, I'm entitled to this, you know, I deserve this. That's messed up. But entitled is the last thing that a servant can be. And if you look back at that passage in Romans chapter six about how we become servants, that is the most polite way that any translation puts it. All the other translations say that you are a slave. And I realize that that language is somewhat aggressive, but I think that we have forgotten that you have been bought with a price.

You are no longer your own. You don't get to determine what you do with yourself. You don't get to determine what you do with your time. Now, God will give us certain freedoms, of course, but ultimately, our job as a servant is to be loyal to our master. And this is the way it goes with indentured servitude, which is more common in the scripture and much harder for current audiences to really take on because the way that we know about this is all twisted and messed up, and I get that and I understand that. But what we have to understand is that even today, because we have been freed from sin, Jesus has quite literally saved our lives. You ever watch a movie where somebody saves the life of another person? The person that has been saved looks into the face of the Savior, and what do they say? I owe you my life. So from that point forward, you belong to the master. You get your identity from the master, you give the master your loyalty, and if you will do those two things, ultimately then you get to become a representative of the master, and you do business in the marketplace in his name, and we call this being an ambassador. Are you with me?

I know this might be like a little strange to talk about, but you are not your own. It's very important that you understand that you have been bought with a price. You are blood bought, you have been redeemed. You were in shackles, in chains, in sin, and Jesus paid for your life in his own blood through the cross. I wrote all these marks down, and I'm not gonna get to them, which is fine. I'll try to get to maybe one or two, and then we'll close, but I knew I wasn't gonna get to them. I'm gonna be honest. I made 14 pages of notes. I'm like, I'm never gonna get to these. If you come to South tonight, I might make it. I don't know. We'll see. Whenever I was younger, before we planted our church, I was very ambitious about being a minister. I really wanted to be a preacher that was popular, and I hadn't met Allison yet, and my whole paradigm for marriage was like me and my wife was gonna travel together, and I was gonna preach the gospel all over the world, and she was gonna man the merch table. I don't know who I thought I was gonna marry. Yeah, that's not Allison. I just, that was kind of my paradigm.

It was like, oh, that's what I'm looking for, and I was very ambitious when I grew up because I played basketball, and I wanted to excel and compete at the highest level, and so when I got into ministry, I was like, okay, well, I wanna do my very best, and I wanna excel, and I wanna do what God has called me to do at the highest level, and so what happens is is there's some ambition that can get in the way of your calling. Does anybody in here know what I'm talking about? Am I just preaching to myself today, or does anybody else in here know what I'm talking about? And so for me, I was always preaching, and I was starting to get invitations to go preach at youth conferences and churches on Sunday and so on and so forth, and God was moving in a mighty way through my ministry. I mean, I saw miracles. I saw healings. I received all kinds of praise reports and testimonies, and I've always kind of been a natural communicator, and so people enjoyed my preaching and wanted me to come back, and I was on fire, and I was prayerful, and I was going after God, and so I would get invited to certain meetings, and I really thought, like, man, I am anointed. It's obvious. You know, and I was like, I am a man of God.

You know, I got the oil, man. It's resting on my life. Favor ain't fair, baby. Like, if you put me anywhere, I am gonna plunder the work of the devil. I am gonna preach the gospel like a man on fire. People are gonna be set free. Demons are gonna tremble. I mean, let me at them. Like, Little Scrappy, you remember that cartoon? Like, let me at them, let me at them, let me at them. And then I decided, in my process of sanctification, to follow Jesus to another continent, and I moved to Mozambique, Africa, and I remember whenever I got there, I really expected everybody over there to see me in the way I saw myself, you know, as God's man of power for the hour. Like, I showed up as a student at a school, by the way, expecting the teachers to call me out. Like, oh my God, we didn't realize that you were here. Please, come up here and you give the lecture, because it's so obvious that the Spirit of God is resting upon your life. I know that that sounds ridiculous, but some of us think in the same way, we just don't admit it. I'm built different, I'm built different. I ain't like everybody else. I ain't gonna do what everybody else,

I ain't gonna do what everybody else has to do. Oh, don't tell me I ain't preaching in a local church context right now. I ain't gonna do what everybody else has to do. I know everybody else gotta go to Next Steps, I ain't going to Next Steps. You know why? Because I used to be on staff at a church, I ain't going to Next Steps. Dang, is that too practical? That's called entitlement. What that is, is entitlement. That's literally entitlement is what they did. I'm not regular, I'm not normal. I'm not like everybody else, I'm better than them. Now, you may not say it like that, but you think in that. Well, you know, I can't believe that that person's getting promoted instead of me. I'm so much more anointed than them. And what you don't realize is that you're harboring entitlement and you're doing it very quietly. And it might not you can you can appear to be humble and you can come to church you Participate and you can do all the things and everybody can say man. Look at that Look at that and it's like but deep down in your soul You haven't been broken enough to recognize that your soul role as a servant It's the servant whatever way the master tells you to serve It doesn't matter what it looks like as long as you're faithful as long as you're obedient and you're pleasing to him and you're doing What God's called you to do but somewhere along the way we confuse ambition for calling and then we start looking at everything We don't get to do and we're like, I can't believe that person gets to do that

I can't believe and that's exactly how I felt when I was in Mozambique There were all these people from all over the world that joined the school and there were people that were like Southern Baptist that decided to show up. I don't know why because it was very charismatic They were going after like supernatural miracles and the people who were there were like I just want to see a miracle and I was like, that's amazing. I see miracles all the time, man You should come to one of my conferences. I Didn't know I was being like that. I just thought I was being like I'm keeping it real dog, you know like I'm anointed man and There were people from other nations and they were like, I'm a charismatic Catholic. I'm like, I don't know what that is They're like I just started speaking in tongues. I'm like, I'm speaking in tongues. I was like six We Don't realize we do this but we do this we do it internally more than we do it externally But we do it and I was just thinking like man, you know, I am a man of God like I'm gonna preach I'm gonna prophesy. I'm gonna operate in the power of the Holy Spirit. People are gonna begin to recognize that I am somebody man And I would go to class every day and you know what nobody called me out Nobody said like yo, you're anointed look at you Nobody said nothing to me. I don't know who I'm talking to right now But I'm sure there's somebody in the room. You feel very overlooked and It's not because you ain't got it. It ain't because you ain't nice. It ain't because you ain't anointed It ain't because you ain't gifted. It ain't because you ain't talented But there's a reason why you haven't stepped into that promised place just yet there are certain actions that you've protected but and Perfected but there's an attitude that needs to be Dealt with and it's called entitlement is what it is an entitled spirit is what it is And that's why you don't have access to promised places because your attitude is literally keeping you out And I was in that same exact spot and I could not figure out why was God not doing anything? And I started to get mad I started and then I started getting sad and then every day I would go to class and we would do these open-air meetings and it was like a thatch roof and like it was there's like a carpeted little space and I would lay on that carpet and I would cry my eyes out for the whole worship set and I Would snot and I would cry and I would say God I hate it here

Nobody sees me. Nobody recognizes me. Nobody, you know, I'm called to do all these things What am I doing here? And then I would pray for God to give me malaria I was like Lord, please give me malaria because I want to be healed Because I want to go home like I know that I it's like, you know, like a soldier at war it's like just let me get shot like not like real bad, but like in the foot or something or like something like Like I want to go home like And this is this is what happens we become obsessed with atmospheres that stroke our ego and then we eject from atmospheres that don't and then eventually we insulate ourselves in such a way that we live in an echo chamber and the only friends that We have are those that build us up. Yeah, you're anointed man. You're anointed, you know, the people who don't think it screw them And what and what happens is it's like you end up in this space where you have the all this you have the entire Spirit is what happens it is and then you start looking at everybody who doesn't promote you as a hater They're not they're not hater you're just immature they don't want to promote somebody they don't want to follow So Every day I would just cry on the floor And you know the teachers they all thought like God was touching me They were like, oh look at you look at the Lord's really touching him. He was not touching me at all. I Was just I was like this sucks. I can't believe you told me to come here. I'm never gonna be a missionary I will I remember telling Lord I'm not coming back to Africa ever again. I Was back by the way like three months later, but I I was like, I don't I don't want to do this and eventually I was like so bummed You know, it's like this. There was this one time where they asked me to do a Bible study They were like, aren't you a preacher? I was like, yes, finally. That's what I'm talking about. Yes. I am a preacher What do you need? They're like, can you run a Bible study for the men's for the men's dorm? And I was like Say less About to get the best Bible study this men's dorm ever got, baby And I got up because we did a little worship set beforehand I don't know if you guys know Heidi Baker, but she has a lot of adopted children and one of them snuck into the meeting And he was a little bit older

But like not very mature And we were all nice to him because it was Heidi's kid, right? So I Get ready to like, all right, it's my turn I'm about to teach this Bible study And I was like, all right, everybody sit down And that kid walked up said I got it All right, everybody. Here's the Bible study for tonight and I was like, no, you're ruining my opportunity. I Can't say nothing. You know, it's Heidi's kid. So I just sat there and I'm like again And at this time like when I left to go over there my parents at their church Everybody in that church really thought I was super prophetic, you know, I mean, I don't I mean, I guess I'm prophetic But like they were like you're prophetic man. You are a prophet. I would never Okay, but they were like you're a prophet And so I would get up and I would do like words of knowledge if you don't know what that is I kind of like Calling things out and stuff that I feel that the Holy Spirit's speaking to me and they're like you're a prophet And so right before I left my mom gave me this gift She was like I got this gift for you and it's a cross and I want you to wear it on your neck while you're in Africa and it's a prophet's cross because I want to speak to your identity son You're a prophet of the Most High God you prophesy the Word of God is in your lips You're a mouthpiece of the Most High you are a preacher. You are called by God to do this. That's right Amen, and so the whole time I was over there, I mean I had that necklace Just in case you'd forgot I Prophet of God, you know and then Sunday, it was a Sunday morning and everybody was going to church and I didn't go. I didn't go to church I said I ain't going to that stupid church. Nobody sees me there. Nobody even recognizes me. Nobody realizes I'm anointed there. God you called me to do great things. This is this is not the space for me I gotta go find another space where people where people see the man of God that I am I'm gonna go to I'm gonna go somewhere else. I ain't gonna be a part of this ministry. Nobody sees me here They saw me just fine. They just realized that my process is like I couldn't progress until I had the right attitude

And so I'm I'm in the men's dorm and I'm like listening to the church and I'm like I can't believe so stupid It's so stupid And I was like God you said I'm a prophet prophets cross right here And I didn't hear God audibly but it was as close to audible as I've ever heard God in my life You know what? He said to me Take that cross off your neck Come again, what he said take that cross off you Cuz you are nothing Except for what I tell you you are and I tell you you are a servant So I took it off never put it back on again And I realized I mean, I'm just telling you guys a testimony I realized that you know before we get to do all this cool stuff before we do the big stuff It's about being faithful in the little stuff It's about acknowledging that serving is not an activity that I should do Serving is not an activity that I have to do serving is not an activity that I do to get anything Serving is just what we do because it's who we are So we're closing but like have you stopped serving And I'm not I'm gonna talk about this church that could apply But have you stopped serving God like if you stop seeing God as your master? Have you stopped seeing God as your Lord as have you stopped seeing God as the person who can define you? Have you stopped seeing God as the person who can tell you what to do? And God has become like an accomplished to your mission in life God's the one who gives you favor. God's the one who gives you blessing God who one who gives you opportunity But you know, he's just like he's your helper and like he's your help You know, he's the guy who blesses you to do what you want to do Just I'm just asking a question that's all that's all I'm just asking a question Have you stopped seeing God like that? Like have you stopped serving God? Have you stopped seeing yourself as a servant of God? Have you become entitled? I Deserve this. Let me tell you what God ought to do for me because I've been living for him for 25 years

A Different spirit servant identity I didn't get to the point today, but a servant identity is what gives us access It's what gives us access to promised places people with the wrong spirit didn't get in People with the wrong spirit didn't move ahead. People with the wrong spirit died in the wilderness before everybody got to go into the promised places. I'm telling you, if I can encourage you anything, church, as your pastor, as somebody who loves you, is guard your heart. From it flows the things of life. Guard, you have to, if you want inhabitation, then you gotta have the right spirit. And I don't care what you say with your mouth. If you are harboring a bitter spirit, an entitled spirit, an offended spirit, you're gonna wander in the wilderness so much longer than God wants you to. They towed the promised land in 40 days. They saw it right there, but it took 40 years before they could go in, because God had everybody die off that had the wrong spirit. When we were in Africa, Heidi would look at people, she would baptize, and this is the most beautiful yet unorthodox way of baptizing anybody. Because you know, it's like, you can do Father, Son, Holy Spirit, you can read the Bible. And she would take them, stand them in the Indian Ocean, she'd look at them in the eyes and she'd say,

are you ready to die? You say, hold on, wait, what? You holding me under? Like, I thought this was like a spiritual thing. But like, then she would just say, are you ready to die? Are you ready to die to yourself? Are you ready to die to your, see, you've forgotten you're a servant. You think that your preferences matter. See, this is the reason why we don't go into promised places, because we think that our preferences matter. Your preferences don't really matter that much. And I'm not saying that God doesn't love your preferences and how He's made you, but we have been told for so long that God loves us that we're like, yeah, He should. I'm pretty awesome. Anytime you make your preferences real big, your promises get real small. The reason why you don't go into the promised land is because your preferences, like, you're so choosy as to how you're gonna go in. You're so choosy as to when you're gonna go in. It's gotta be your way. It's not your way, it's His way. Like, we've forgotten that we're blood-bought. We've forgotten that we're bought with a price. Your life is not your own. You're a servant.

Have you stopped being a servant? I'm just asking a question. As you stand, we're gonna pray. Have you stopped being a servant? Come on, let's pray together. If you don't mind right where you are, just close your eyes. Just thinking of that scripture where, you know, the centurion's like, I'm a man under authority. I say to this one, go, and he goes. I say to this guy, come, and he comes. Like, have you forgotten that you are a man under authority? The servant is not greater than the master. The pupil's not greater than the teacher. God is not your accomplice to having the life that you want. Just close your eyes right where you are if you don't mind. If today needs to be a day that you repent of entitlement, could I encourage you to do that and let it go? Maybe ask the Holy Spirit this. Say, God, do I have any blind spots? What are they? Trust him to speak to you, because he will speak to you. And then whatever he says to you, just let it go. I don't want to carry that no more, God. That's the first step. It may take some time. Maybe it's become habitual for you that you live life in a way that's like you feel that you deserve before you serve. Just let it go.

This is what God's doing this month, okay? This is what God's doing this month for our whole church. It's not about one person. It's not about two people. It's not about 10 people. It's about our whole church. Listen, I don't care how sanctified you feel that you are. There is so much more that we have to go. We gotta let more stuff go. God's gonna take us to some promised places, church. We ain't finished. We ain't even close to finished. Just because we're moving in over here, that's gonna take some time. We ain't even close to finished. All right. We're gonna sing a song and be dismissed, but I wanna tell you two things. Number one is, we are in a week of prayer and fasting this week, so pray about how you can participate. Number two is that we have service here every single night from 645 to eight, 645 to eight right here in this room every single night, Monday through Friday. We're gonna worship and pray. Pastor John's gonna be leading us tomorrow. We're gonna worship and pray. Be right here in this room. We're gonna fast and pray this week. And I guess the third thing is, there is childcare up to pre-K.
