The Man Jesus Called Smart for Stealing | Sermon by Pastor Richard Lorenzo Jr.
The Man Jesus Called Smart for Stealing
Pastor Richard Lorenzo Jr.
In this teaching, Pastor Richard Lorenzo examines the surprising parable where Jesus commends the shrewdness of a dishonest manager. Jesus was not praising his dishonesty, but exposing the wisdom and intentionality with which the man prepared for his future.
The message challenges believers to ask: Are we as intentional about the things of God as the world is about the things of this life? We must learn to steward what God has placed in our hands, recognize the urgency of the time we are living in, and use our resources, influence, and opportunities for eternal purposes.
Jesus said, “For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.” — Luke 16:8 (NKJV)
The lesson is simple: God is not calling us to be dishonest; He is calling us to be wise, intentional, faithful, and kingdom-minded with what He has entrusted to us.

He is here. He is ready to minister. He is so good. Let's just put our hearts and our minds on the king right now that his high. He is lifted. He is seated at the right hand of the Father. Go in here, believes that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. Go in here, believes that He's interceded for you all day. He is no respecter of time.
He is outside of time. That is the God that we come to worship today. We don't come to make it about ourselves. We come to worship the king. [music] So Jesus, we just thank You. We thank You for Your presence in this gospel. It is an honor to know You, Jesus. It is an honor to worship You, Jesus. And tonight, we are going to worship in You. It is not just going to be us up here worshiping and giving incest to the Lord. It is going to be everyone in this house. Amen? We are going to worship together. We are going to give adoration to the Lord together. We are going to give our worship to the Lord together in unity because that is the design that God has made for His party. So right now, if there's anything that you need to shake off in the room, just shake it off. If there's anything that's on your mind that you just keep thinking about, that you can't stop thinking about. You say, Lord, thank You that You help me to just focus on You right now. If You've never encountered the presence of God, You're going to encounter the presence of God tonight in the name of Jesus. I declare that generations will be restored in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah! What do we do this for? Thank You Father. I thank You Lord, that generations will be restored in the name of Jesus Christ. That people will leave here different in the name of Jesus Christ. That chains will break in the name of Jesus Christ. That people will be delivered in the name of Jesus Christ. That people will be set free in the name of Jesus Christ. I thank You man, it is Your authority Lord.
So we're going to fight tonight. Your worship is a weapon. So if you feel the resistance to open your mouth, get past the resistance and open your mouth and worship the Lord Jesus Christ. ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] >> You are the God who sees me. And the house of God. Can we just give the king some praise, man? How many feel refreshed?
You feel refreshed? You feel like you were just filled with his love and dried by fire. Isn't that how it feels? Man, that's so good. Well, family, welcome to the Ramneh R. Bhabhavari Center. But we believe in making disciples. Everybody say that. Everybody say making disciples. We are believing in the Lord to give us a building. And in our faith in the Lord and the Father, we said to Lord, Lord, we want to raise $5 million for your house. And we're bold about it. Everybody say bold. When the Lord tells you something, you're supposed to be bold about it. You're supposed to be bold about it. So we're believing in the Lord. It's called the Making Disciples Campaign. And we want to show the fruit of the ministry. We want the Lord to get glory in his house for what he is doing. And that's the transformative work of the power of the Holy Spirit in lives just like yours. And lives that maybe you think, man, could that even happen to me? Yes, it could happen to you. Because it happens to real people and real-time people that were lost in darkness, not being transformed by the Holy Spirit made into the image just like Jesus,
to be just like Jesus. And today we have a very powerful one. They've all been super powerful. But we have a powerful one of our worship leaders. And it's going to be powerful. Are y'all excited? Are y'all excited about this? I'm excited about this. OK, guys, run the clip. I'm from Pennsylvania. And I actually had given my life to Christ when I was still in Pennsylvania. But I was very lukewarm. I didn't know it at the time, though. I was able to hear the voice of God. And God started telling me to move down to Florida. I didn't know why. I was heavily involved in music. So I saw a school full-sale university. I actually ended up meeting Pastor Rich at that school. He invited me to the house church. And I experienced my first, like, deliverance. I never heard about deliverance. So when I first seen it, I felt like my eyes were kind of open. I got delivered from Jezebel that night. And I think the next service, I had got baptized. I used to be really bad until, like, drinking alcohol, partying and all of that stuff in the world. And I remember that night, completely giving up alcohol after I got baptized and everything.
And, yeah, here I am now. So what making disciples means to me, I think about what Paul says in the Bible, like, follow me as I follow Christ. So I think it's really just-- knowing that we're going to make mistakes, but just following Jesus to the best of our abilities, reading the word and actually being doers of the word, not just reading it and not following it, and then teaching others what you're learning as well. So how did discipleship impact me in my early stages of my walk? show me, you know, errors that I needed to grow in and places that I still need to be molded in and being able to receive the correction and receive the truth and fall in love with the truth really. When I'm sewing into the rock, what am I sewing into? God's vision, God's kingdom, he's really moving in this church and it's not even necessarily just the rock, but it's just what God is doing here at the rock. His spirit is here, the kingdom is here, you know, he moves every service so when I'm sewing into the rock, I'm sewing into what the Lord is doing here and supporting the kingdom of God. What do I believe God is going to do through the rock? I feel like I can't even fully imagine it. Like I feel like when I first came to the, even just the house church, I was able to see that God is going to do something big. I had a feeling, but I feel like it's going to be something even more than anybody can ask, think, or imagine like how the word of God says, but I just know that we serve a big God and he's going to do big things and I love him and I want to support what he's doing here. So, come on, let's give Jesus some glory. That's so good.
So that's what we believe in here. We believe in making disciples. We have, man, it's so good, the beautiful testimonies that come out from this church and what God is doing here in this church, and I also want to give you guys another revelation that I think is going to be so good for those that want to go deeper with God, who wants to go deeper with God? Every hand, right? This is something that the Lord has been teaching me and it's about our giving being worship, right? Giving is not a transaction, but it can be. Easily, you just say, "God, wow, that was powerful, God, let me just give on to that because it's so good," right, but just if you want to go deeper, it's actually an act of worship. In Philippians 4, Paul is commending the Philippian church and he's saying, "Wow, thank you guys so much for what you guys have given on to me, the gifts that you have given on to me," and then he connects it. He says, "And your gifts were a sweet-smelling aroma onto the Lord." That's already language of the Old Testament, when they would bring their offerings up to the Lord and the offering would be burnt on the altar, and that incense would go up to the Lord and the Lord would receive it based off the heart posture of the one that gave the gift. Just to go a little deeper, right? So I want everybody to give because God is in the building. Yes, he's moving mightily, but you know what I really want in my heart for all of us to give on to God as an act of worship. So it could be a sweet-smelling aroma onto God, something that he can receive from your heart posture. Come on, everybody, stand up. We're gonna give with revelation, with our heart posture, that God, you are holy, you are worthy.
Thank you for what's happening at the rock, but I want to worship you the same way that we were all just singing, "Abba," you saw that that's Allah moment, everybody was just such an all of Him. The word says, I'm gonna read it for somebody in the building so they can see it. Philippians 4, it says, Philippians 4 18, it says, "Indeed, I have all in a bound. I am full, having received from Epathias the things sent from you a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God." Verse 19, this is the one we all love, "And my God shall supply your need according to the riches and glory by Christ Jesus." So you see the connection, Paul says, "Thank you for your gifts, and it was amazing that you blessed me, but most importantly, you blessed God." And it was a sweet-smelling aroma that he received in heaven. So tonight, we're gonna give onto the move of God, but most importantly, let's give as worship. Amen? Come on, everybody, just raise your hands. If you're in agreement, if you believe in the Scriptures, if you're gonna give with a heart of worship, just raise your hands. Father, right now in the mighty name of Jesus, Lord, we thank you for what you are doing in this house. God, we thank you for testimony that testify of your spirit, that bears fruit, that you're present here at the rock. Lord, we thank you for that. Father, but right now, we give on to you as an act of worship, Father, we place our offerings on the altar, Father, and let them be a sweet-smelling aroma, a sacrifice that's pleasing on to you, Abba, an act of worship. We're going deeper tonight, Lord, and I thank you for that. Bless every hand that's giving, bless everyone online, God. Continue to build your church like we know you are, Lord, and let this be a sign of worship from our hearts.
We love you. We thank you, God, in Jesus' mighty name, and the church says together, "Amen, amen." Come on, give Jesus some glory, praise God. card or a bank you can scan this QR code if you have cash at Paypal Benmo and let us all stay standing as we continue to worship. Come on. So everyone, I thank you. I thank you for visiting and joining us. I would like to give it to our pastor, Richard Lorenzo. (audience applauding) Let's give Jesus some glory, Jesus. We love you, we honor you, we love you so much, Jesus. You get all the glory, Jesus. The King of Kings, the beginning and the end. They're really so real, they're living God, amen. (gentle music) All the handwritten requirements that were against me, Every single thing that was written of all the accusations every sin I've ever done, Jesus. Man. (congregation applauding) You're a worshiping is like, ♪ I never know how much it costs, right ♪ What's the words after that? ♪ See my sin ♪ (congregation singing) Colossians, that's literally what that means. That song was birthed from the book of Colossians. The handwritten, everything, the law, everything, the law that I couldn't keep was nailed to the cross. Look at that, man, a bunch of apes and pens and weed pens giving up. Amen. (congregation applauding) (congregation applauding)
Amen. I see a folder that says, "Do not touch, do not open." So I won't touch it and I won't open it. Amen. Let's get straight into this. Y'all ready? I want y'all to feel like this is a safe place that y'all can bring. Anything you want to give up, man, anything. We got the garbage bin where we just expose idolatry and get rid of those things. Hallelujah. Everyone say, you can't fake the fruit. Man, bro, people are hungry for Jesus, huh? How many are hungry to grow? (congregation applauding) All right. I see so many new faces, man, people from all over, that's great. And the Lord's been speaking to me about this word all week. I've been preaching it all week and it's gonna bless you. It's one of the most complex chapters, if not the most complex chapter in the New Testament. They call it a theological crossroad. Scholars have debated what the verses mean. And then I've been meditating on this for years and just recently God gave me some new revelation. We spoke about it at the pre-service meeting. I spoke about it at my friend, Pastor Carlos's daughter's birthday party, my wife, everybody's getting this gospel.
A message from Luke 16. So, hey, y'all ready? Pull out Luke 16, go ahead. We're gonna have it up on the board soon. It's just so good, I can't get over it. I've preached it so many times and it's always different. Y'all ready to be equipped? All right, we're gonna teach tonight. Oh, I'm gonna teach tonight and you guys are gonna learn and hopefully catch what the Holy Spirit is saying. You know, the word of God can't transform your heart, your mind or your heart. It's not just the mind, it's the heart too, without faith. The full counsel of God can only inheritance, everyone's saying inheritance. You know, we receive all inheritance positionally, right? Doesn't the Bible say that we receive it as sons and daughters? And isn't the Bible specific about inheritance like all the things that God has given us? And when we come to Christ, do we just have all of it? Progressively, do we receive things as it comes? 'Cause you can't receive something you don't know about, right? And also something you don't have faith for. So, God begins to give you the things you already said yesterday meant to, which is everything, but it comes by revelation and it comes by transformation of the heart. If God gave you everything at once without your heart being transformed, it would destroy you.
And God cannot trust us with true riches unless we pass our own tests. God does not tempt, but he allows the tests. The devil tempts, God knows the devil tempts and allows the devil to tempt, but God allows the test. The test is, in every single test, do you depend on God's word or your own word? Do you depend on God's truth in the word or do you depend on the lie or the whatever the devil's saying, it's always trusting God. So you all ready? All right, we're gonna break it down. It's not the whole chapter, it's just the beginning, the first parable. The unjust steward, you are ready for this, it's so good. So before, I know we talked about it at the pre-service, but I'm about to go a lot deeper now, okay? Again, it's called the, they call it the crooks. Interpreteum, it means the interpreters, crossroads. 'Cause on the surface, it looks like Jesus and this parable is praising a criminal. This parable looks like Jesus is praising a criminal. In this parable, we're gonna read about a man who got caught stealing, gets fired, and then Jesus says he was smart. A man who gets caught stealing and lying, gets fired from his job, and Jesus says that he's smart or wise. Not evil, but smart. And then Jesus turns to his disciples and says,
be like him. I'm gonna show you tonight, verse by verse, word by word. It's one of the most brilliant, most surgical, most gracious things Jesus ever said, and it's gonna equip you. And when you see how it will change every way you see money, you will know you've been equipped. Y'all ready? All right, so, verse one. Before we get to verse one, I wanna talk about Luke 15, the chapter before, I want you guys to know who the crowd was. So on Luke 15, one, it says that all the tax collectors and sinners drew near to him, Jesus to hear him, and the Pharisees and scribes complained saying, the man received sinners and eats with them. So just imagine, you have all these tax collectors and sinners who are interested in listening to the teachings of Jesus, the great rabbi, and the Pharisees and sodices who are supposed to be religious leaders are on the corner salty, judging him for sitting and teaching sinners and tax collectors. Just see the crowd, imagine Jesus in the marketplace, imagine Jesus modern day posted up in front of the publics. He's in front of the publics and you got all the sinners, you got the drug dealers, you got the scammers, you got the people who don't know God at all, the witches, the warlocks, everybody's listening to this great teacher, and then you got the religious pastors
who lead churches, but don't know God judging them. The ones who got the big churches, but don't know God's power, judging them. Is God infinite? When we stop and think that we know everything about God, we lost, that's pride. We have to be teachable and ready to receive new things, the new things of God. It's in the word, I believe it. Everyone say amen. Luke 61, he also said to his disciples, he's teaching him now, so I could just imagine, Jesus is in the spirit, he sees through his peripherals, the Pharisees and sodas, he's judging, he could buy the spirit he discerns with their saying. He sees the sinners and tax collectors that need a savior. He's like, oh, I'm about to hit him with something that's gonna make him think. He was real deep in the spirit, listening to the Holy Spirit. He says there was a certain rich man who had a steward and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods. So, you have a king who owns businesses, and you have a steward who's supervising all these businesses for him so he can handle other work and build. And he's trusted this steward with so much. And this steward was mishandling the goods and somebody snitched on him and brought the accusation to the king,
and the king is like, what? And then you see right here, next verse. Then the steward said within himself, what shall I do for my master is taking the stewardship away from me? I cannot dig, I am ashamed to beg, I have resolved what to do when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. All right, so I'm gonna walk around now, we're gonna go, we're gonna flow, y'all ready? All right, so I'm gonna read the verse right here, okay? Should be up there too, but that's fine right here, okay. So we got a king who has a lot of money and he has a supervisor, a steward who's supposed to be handling his finances and this steward is not handling his finances, right? Get snitched on, accused, and now the king is like, hey, That you haven't been stewarding my money the right way. So what does the steward do? Instead of repenting and realizing he's wrong and saying please forgive me, this is what he does instead, verse five. So he called everyone of his master's debtors, everyone say master's debtors. These are the people he's doing business with that all him money, that all him goods, that all him oil and wheat. 'Cause he's doing business with him and he's a king who deserves these taxes and goods. So the steward who's supposed to be bringing these things
to him, he wasn't handling things right, things right, realizes I need to make, I need to do something about this 'cause I'm about to get fired. So what does he do? He doesn't repent, he doesn't say I'm sorry, he doesn't say please forgive me. He goes and calls everyone of his master's debtors to him and this is what he said to the first one. So now he's on the low. He's on the low. He's trying to figure out what to do. He's scrambling, he knows he's about to be fired soon and he wants to handle something so he can save him. He said to the first one who owes his king money. He says, go back please. How much do you owe my master? So now he's going to someone who owes the king oil, how much do you owe my master? Next verse. And he said, a hundred measures of oil, so he says to him, okay, okay, real quick, take your bill, sit down quickly and write 50. Back in those days, a hundred measures of oil was like a year's worth of wages. Actually, I'm sorry, when I was doing research, it's actually three years worth of a man's wages, over 150 to $250,000. So this man says, you owe him $200,000, put $100,000. Everyone say that's a big discount.
Imagine if you owe a $200,000 and they come and say, 50% discount, go ahead, what are you going to say? Ah, thank you, bro. Appreciate it, wow. Is this steward who's about to get fired from mishandling money, stealing and lying in this moment? Yes, he knows he's about to get fired, so he goes and he's scrambling. First person, you're a hundred? Hey, write down 50, you good? Okay, I'm out. Next one. And he said to another, how much do you owe? And he said, a hundred measures of wheat. Back in those days, wheat was even worth more than oil. Now, what does he say to him? Take your bill and write 80, big discount, over $150,000 discount, modern day in Daenerys. So now he's thinking, oh my God, this guy, the second guy, wow, thank you, like I just saved a lot of money. Wow, he's making connections with them 'cause he's about to get fired. Next. So now he goes to the master, the master's about to fire him and words spreading around town about how gracious the king is. Now they're saying, man, the king gave me a 50% discount and a 20% discount. And the king's, what?
Now he has to make a decision. Do I go to these people and say, hey, that was wrong, that was fraud, give me my money. Or do I just accept it and say, yeah, I'm glad you appreciate it and take the honor. So the king goes, you know what? Yeah, okay, great, let me talk to this guy, come here. I'm about to fire you and this is what you go do. And he says, good job. He commends the unjust steward because he dealt truly. Truly means wisely. So this king who the people are not commending and praising for the discount goes to the servant on the low one on one and goes, man, I was gonna fire you. But honestly what you did, I get it now, it's smart. You wanted to make relationships 'cause you knew I was gonna fire you. So that way when I fire you, you'll be able to get a job. (inspirational music) He commended the, y'all with me on this because he dealt wisely. And then Jesus says this, this is a parable from Jesus Christ himself. Then he says, for the sons of this world are more shrewd or wise in their generation than the sons of light. He's saying, children of the world who work for money and success and worldly material are more wise than children who are saved
in the kingdom of God who are supposed to be focused on heavenly things. Why is he saying this? Why is he saying this? Why is he saying that he's comparing this thief and liar and then saying that children of God are not as wise as him as Jesus saying that we need to go lie and steal. How many people in the world are desperate to become successful? How many of you guys in here have a desire, a dream and a passion to buy a property and pass it down to your children? Raise your hand, you're not wise. (inspirational music) Why, why am I not wise? That's what I've been taught, right? Get a property, get something that you can pass down to your children that will disintegrate and mean nothing in the next hundred years. Why are we so focused on the physical realm that is going to be destroyed one day and not focused on eternity where we can store treasures in heaven? (congregation applauding) Jesus is teaching this wisdom to finesse and jug like the world says and do all these things to be able to have money to have a job so this unjust steward doesn't go to digging and begging. He literally says, I can't dig and I'm not gonna beg.
I need to go make connections so when he fires me, I can at least go work for them and they'll put me in a high position. I might get a little pay deduction but at least I'll have a job and I won't be begging and working construction. And Jesus says he's more wise than the children that are saved because children that are saved who know that there's eternity coming, who knows that this world is going to be destroyed, who knows that we should be storing treasures in heaven still focus on worldly success. Still live, like what you can acquire in this world means more than eternity. It's a crossroads, it's an exposure of the heart, this chapter, it's equipping, let's continue. And then he says this to the disciples. Listen, remember he has the disciples, the Pharisees, the sinners and he says, I say to you, make for yourselves, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous men that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. What does that mean? Jesus says, take money that doesn't make you righteous, what makes you righteous, the blood of Jesus. So can I buy my way into heaven? Can I buy my way into righteousness? Can I buy my way into a mantle? Can I buy my way into deliverance? Can I buy my way into healing?
No, it's unrighteous and it's worthless, it's the lowest ranking thing. But Jesus says, make friends for yourselves using unrighteous men and that the world loves so much so that when you fail, meaning when you die one day, the same people you use money to win to Christ are gonna receive you into their home. They'll be waiting at the gates for you saying, thank you for paying for the groceries at Publix for me, when you didn't know me, what's led to you preaching the gospel and praying for me, what's led me to come to Christ and then four years later becoming a pastor and winning all this thousand souls on when I was here on earth, thank you. It was because you used that $50 to show me love and bring me to Christ. (congregation applauding) Or thank you. I was your brother in Christ in the church and I was really down and out and I couldn't pay my bills and I owed $200 and I didn't believe that God was real because I couldn't break through but you came through and prayed for me, you gave me the 200 and taught me how to stew in my finances and because of that, I saw God moving my life and I realized there was a me issue which led me to keep on going and now my grandson is a pastor out there and the Netherlands winning souls the Christ because of you,
they're welcoming you into their homes, they wanna receive you, they wanna be hospitable to you when you get to the gates of heaven. Jesus is saying, take this worldly money that can win souls. (gentle music) And invest into eternity, invest into eternity. He's saying use money, but what do people want with their money? They protect it. They protect it like it means something. They protect it like, I have $1,000 in my bank, by the end of this year I should have $10,000. Then what happens when you have 10? Now you want 100. What happens when you get 100? Now you want a million. Your heart is connected to menmen. You are living unwise. Because your goal is to pass down a house to your son instead of a mantle. You want your son to receive a house and have a financial inheritance, but you don't want your son to see you sell the house for what God said for the gospel to be preached or whatever God tells you. Like I had to do, when God told me, I did it in obedience when He told me to me and my wife. We had three properties when we came to Christ. And after the first year of being in Christ,
the Lord said, "Sell all your houses "and I want you to give it to the kingdom. "Sell your properties and give it to the kingdom." And some people was looking, they'd be like, "Oh, he's just talking that talk." Okay, they know me, bro. You can go ask people who've been with me since day one. I didn't do it for the recognition of people. I did it because the Lord told me to do it and it was for His purposes. I'm not saying, "Oh, tonight just go home "and sell your house." I'm saying, "Pray and ask God what He wants you "to give up." What, how about this? What if it's not your house? What if it's your time? What if God is saying, "Open up your mouth that work "and make for yourself friends with these people?" I'm just an introvert, speaking curses on your life. We're in the Bible, does it say you're an introvert or an extrovert? It says, "I'm a child of God. "I'm more than a conqueror. "I have the boldness that comes from the Holy Spirit. "I'm not an introvert and I'm not an extrovert. "I'm not a Pisces. "I'm none of that. "Why are you identifying like the world tells you "to identify and then you wonder why you're just
"still in the same cycles? "Stand on what God says about you. "Get in the scriptures and read what God says about you "and stand in faith on that. "That's your new sign. "You're more than a conqueror. "You're born in February, you're more than a conqueror. "You're born in December, you're more than a conqueror. "Stop saying that. "Stop claiming a zodiac sign "when God has said better things over you." (congregation laughing) Oh, but I'm more than a conqueror, but I don't feel like it. You don't feel like it 'cause you don't believe it. The word of God is only activated by faith. When you come to Christ and you're sick and have a disease and you get baptized and you get filled with the Holy Spirit and you're not healed, are you still healed by your stripes? But I'm not healed though. (gentle music) I'm healed by your stripes, but I'm not healed though. You know why? It's a progressive work. It could be a miracle or it could be a progressive work like three and a half years of my life and then it happens. We have positional and progressive. When I come to Christ,
am I seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus? I'm here in this building, I don't know what you're talking about. I never had a dream of me being seated in heaven. Have you? Positionally I am, but progressively I'm living this life. The Bible says I'm fully sanctified when I come to Christ, but I'm going through a sanctification process. This is the problem with the church in so many different areas. Because of a lack of revelation, people go to, I'm fully sanctified and I'm not going through a sanctification process. That's heretical, I'm fully sanctified and the person's dealing with hard issues every month and getting more and more healing. What? Sanctification is washing that only comes through the Word and the Holy Spirit and it's a process that we all have to go through. But am I sanctified? In eternity, yes, I know what the Word says and that's what gets me, my identity, gets me through these seasons to know God sees me sanctified. Even though right now I'm dealing with this issue of whatever it is, maybe you're still cursing. You know you're saved, but that filth that comes out your mouth needs to be first cleaned up in your heart so you seek the Lord and you call out and you say, God, I need you and by His grace,
He begins to sanctify your heart. My wife woke up every single day and declared the Word of God healing scriptures over herself every single day when the doctors were saying otherwise, you need to do chemo, you have a baby in your belly and your cancerous hormone-driven, you're crazy, your hormones are four times over the normal weight because it's a girl in your belly, you need to get chemo and remove your breast with your daughter in the womb and it could cause birth defects. My wife says, no, I'm a stand on the Word. (audience applauds) Yeah. And then she's just pregnant again with another daughter. And she stands on the word. You see what I'm saying? What are you gonna tell a man? A homeless man who comes to Christ and comes to the church and fully puts his faith in Jesus Christ? Or how about this? A drug addict who is gang banging, who puts his faith in Jesus and comes to the church and gets baptized and filled with the spirit who's still dealing with depression, who's still dealing with suicidal thoughts, who's still dealing with murder in his heart. What are you gonna tell him?
You've been to who the sun sets free is free indeed. You don't need to be delivered. Why he's still bound with these demons tormenting his mind? How dare you? He's right here. He would say I'm being tormented pastor and I tell him the word, but he doesn't have the faith yet. So because he doesn't have the faith, I lay hands and cast the devil out of a Christian. Stop talking about what you don't know. We are positionally set free by the blood of Jesus, but there's a progressive work that sometimes means they're gonna need deliverance and it's gonna look messy, right, Carlos? Right Joe, right Jason, right whole front row, right everybody who's seen it a million times. But yes, the word says with the sun sets free is free indeed and he needs that word as I'm laying hands to know that Jesus is about to set him free. How many Christians have I prayed for that are sick and get healed of this altar? But the Bible says you've been healed by the stripes of Jesus. What are you gonna tell them they're not a Christian? They're not saved. Man, body of Christ needs to wake up, bro. Stop knocking things you haven't experienced and actually repent and say God, you know what, I haven't seen this side of you and I want to learn and humble yourself.
That's what I do when I see something in the word that maybe I haven't experienced yet, I go to God and say God, wow, I want to meet somebody that understands this about you, put them in front of me and I want people that know Jesus more than you. And then God brings relationships where they do know a different aspect of the Father that I don't know and I can receive impartation 'cause my heart's wide open to receive what the word says through his son. Come on, bro. I want to say wake up church. Going against God and you don't even know it. Hey, but I'll tell you this, God is so merciful though. He knows that his children are knuckleheads. All of us, every single one of us, he loves it. It's like I see my children. I'm like, oh my God, but it's okay, I love him. Sometimes he's got to be an older brother that says, hey, it's like my son, Richard says to Jeremiah. Jeremiah, stop! And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous manmen that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. Next. Look at this. Jesus is about to compare faithfulness to money. Who's ready, who's ready to be convicted. (congregation applauds) Okay.
He who is faithful in what is at least is faithful also in much. So Jesus says if you're not faithful with unrighteous manmen, go back to the last verse, verse nine, look at this. And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous manmen that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. So he's saying use money to make friends, next verse. Then he says, he who is faithful in what is least is also faithful in much. And he who is unjust in what is least is also unjust in much. He's talking about money. If you're not faithful with finances and your heart's still connected to it and you're so in love with it or fearful of it, you can't even be trusted with spiritual riches. Watch the next verse. Therefore, if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous manmen, who will commit to you? Who will commit to your trust, the true riches? Who gives us true riches? Who gives us things that we desire in our heart? How many of you have a calling on your life? Now I'm asking a question, how many Christians do you know have a calling on your life on their life but have never fulfilled it?
Raise your hand if you know somebody. Is that more common than not? Why is that? Because they're not faithful with the little. And Jesus says unrighteous manmen is the little thing that God tests people with to see where with a calling or something greater. Am I tripping? Therefore, if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous manmen, who will commit to you to your trust? The true riches, bro. So does God use money to test our hearts? He already knows us in our hearts, but he use it, but the money, if he sees we can't be, look, watch this. What are you stewarding in the physical? Your finances, your job, your relationships, your marriage, your children, serving in the church? Are these all physical things? So God tests you with physical things before he can trust you with spiritual things. But how many people do you know come to Christ and they want the spiritual things and their whole life or the physical is out of whack? They want to lead a ministry and have a church, but still can't love their wife, right? Want to have a microphone to preach? Finances are all out of order. Don't even know what it means to balance
their bank account. God is looking at the little things in the physical realm to see if our heart is in love with it, or if we want to have order because we know, like I said before, go back. Go back a few verses when it says, go back one, two verses I think it is. See what's faithful one is at least. Go back another one. Another one. The sons of the world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light, right? Go to, I think it's verse nine. It's 10, I'm sorry, thank you, 10. He was faithful in what is least is also faithful in much. So God is saying, if you're faithful with unrighteous manmen, I can trust you in more things that are spiritual because I know your heart is for me. He's talking about, remember a few verses before he talks about if you can't be faithful with another man's, is your money yours? Do you steward your money like it's God's? Let's be real though, do you steward your money like it's God's? If God was here right now, Jesus Christ in the physical and the flesh and was walking with you, would you be stewarding your money different? Come on, but He is walking with you. And it's His money. If you can't be faithful, we're gonna read this with another man's, you can't be faithful with more.
Keep going. There goes, it's actually the next verse. And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own? What's your own? You're calling. It's still God's, but He gives it to you. How many people want to walk in their calling? We always teach this at the rock, one, two, and three. Your first ministry is what? I have people always say this, it's your family. No, it's not. Your first ministry is not your family. It's God. If you're taking care of your family but you're neglecting intimacy with God, you're out of order. That's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's heretical in the body of Christ. I've said it before, too, where I say, my first ministry is my wife, and then the Lord corrected me recently and said, stop saying that, I'm your first ministry. My second ministry is my wife and kids in my home. What does that include? Taking care of my temple, physical. Taking care of my wife, physical. Taking care of my children, physical. Making sure my house is actually cleaned, physical. Going to the gym and stewarding my body
because I don't own it, physical. So God is testing us and the physical things to see if he can trust us with the spiritual things. But we're running after the spiritual things, neglecting the things that are right in front of us and wonder why we keep going in circles and comparing and competing with other people. We're looking at them, this and this, and the next video to go viral and this and that and all these things instead of focusing on what's in front of us because there's enough evil in the day already. Instead of focusing on what is in front of us because that is what God is testing us with. The devil don't want you to know this, this is an equipping service. You want to be equipped to walk in your calling. You want to be equipped with greater spiritual things and you're going to have to handle the little things first. You want to be a pastor of a church, but your house is out of order and you have no love with your spouse. That's why Jesus says, if you can't take care of your own house, how can you take care of the household of God? Our heart has to be yielded to God in the little things before He can trust us. and our hearts not yielded to him and the little, he will lose us and it will destroy us. Which is why we see so many people, pastors and ministers, get caught in crazy scandals, and we wonder how did this happen?
It's because they weren't faithful with little. And best believe the enemy can come and present a good idea to you, but not a God idea. We saw that right before the ministry of Jesus Christ. Right before he was shot into his ministry for three and a half years, what did the devil come with? It's some real good ideas that were not godly. I'll give you this, I'll give you that. I'll give you all these things. Amazing ideas of some of you, some of you all would have been in that wilderness saying yes, yes, yes. And you would have said, this has to be of God. And then the devil used the word, he used the word too. So how do we know what's of God? I asked the church this earlier. I said, right now if I go and I feed a homeless person, or let's say I go and I feed a homeless person a whole hot meal, do you know for a fact that's what God wants me to do? Raise your hand if you think yes. So does God not want me to feed the homeless? How do we know? We have to actually ask him. Doesn't the words say to feed the homeless? Doesn't the Bible say if you take care of him, but did God say to do it? You're thinking it's righteous to give a homeless person money, you didn't even ask the Holy Spirit
and now they go spend it on drugs. Imagine if I said I'm gonna go feed the homeless today. I feel it 'cause that idea popped in my mind, I'm gonna go feed the homeless, but I have to go preach tonight and no souls get saved or what God wants to do doesn't happen because I was feeding the homeless. And I come here, when everything is closing and say, hey guys, I was feeding the homeless 'cause I felt like this was God wanting me to do. Is that good? Yeah, but it's not godly. So we actually have to have a relationship with God where we hear his voice. Can a good opportunity, a good job opportunity pack up and cause us to be real excited? But did you pray and ask God if that's what he wants? Because the counterfeit always comes before the blessing and the counterfeit never comes looking demonic. It comes looking real sweet. You're serving in the local church, you're serving in the local church, you're doing great, you're two months in, all of a sudden that cute guy comes to the church that looks cute to you, but he's a baby Christian. Barely even walking with the Lord and comes and starts flirting with you because he needs sanctification in his life. And then now you think it's your husband. It looks good, but he saved though.
He saved, we're talking about pastor, you're sobering, controlling. And then they'll come to me and say, can you pray about it? Loki saying, I'm gonna do it, just letting you know. No fear of the Lord, no going to God and seeking and ask him, have you prayed about it? I haven't prayed about it, no. I'm not gonna pray about it till you pray about it. You go home and seek the Lord and tell me what God told you. Do we actually have to have a relationship with God and Christ? We actually have to seek God and pray and hear his voice and spend time with him to know what he wants. That's why we need accountability. That's why we need a local church. That's why we need other spirit field, the key word, spirit field believers around us, spirit field leaders around us who we can call or we can talk to that will also pray. And when it's the Holy Spirit, it will always be unanimous. It will be in one accord. When the spirit of God downloads a vision, I don't just, okay, I'm going on, I'm doing my thing. No, 'cause the devil can give visions too. I wanna talk to my wife, I wanna talk to the pastor, call my brother and Dallas, another pastor, call my spiritual father and dad. I call some other people and Cali that I call people that I trust, that I know pray,
that will take what I'm saying and actually go pray about it and not just go, I feel like that's a great idea. I don't wanna, I feel. Because I feel a lot of things every day. But everything I feel, it doesn't matter if I'm driving in the car in an idea, pops in my mind. Now many times I had those ideas pop in my mind and it wasn't even what God was saying. Well, it's a big decision that could really, that could change the trajectory of what God is doing in my life. I need to go pray 'cause it could affect other people. (gentle music) Oh, you have influence, Pastor. Right now, you can plant 10 churches within the next three years and have the perfect plan for you. Let me come through and help you out. But God ain't tell me that! You want me to stay local and build this church and take my time? Oh, but you can do it. I know I could, but it's not even a God thing. And it'll all be destroyed in the next five years. Oh, but you've got great leaders who are ready to go. They can preach their prophetic things. They know God, yeah, but did God tell us? We don't want good things, we want godly things. And this is why the Lord brings you through the process of being faithful with the little things first. How much does God care about your marriage? A lot. But how many times have people come to this church and said,
"My marriage, my wife, my wife doesn't submit, or my husband is not saved yet, but I want to be a leader in the church." I get it if your wife is growing and you're loving her and you're pouring into her. But you can't come to a church saying you want to be a leader and you stuff bitterness towards your wife. I just wanted to worship because we're just not getting along. That stuff happens, bro. You'd be surprised how many Christians I've done it. Some people probably hear what happens when you realize you're wrong, you repent. You say, "God, I was wrong and God I repent." And I'm not going to do that again because it goes against your word. That's not the heart of the Father. The heart of the Father is restoration, is patience. It's trusting in Him to change things because He will. My wife wasn't always on fire, she didn't even want to read the word, she didn't even want to serve Jesus, she didn't even want to go to church. So what I have to do, I have to pray, I have to fast, I have to love her, I have to be wise on what I said. Listen to the Holy Spirit, that's all I had, and that's all I still have. Everyone say, "Holy Ghost, He wants to guide you, He wants to speak to you." That's why you need to be filled daily so He can fill you and equip you and prepare you for the evil in the day. If not, you'll be getting ideas from all over the world thinking it's God. Everyone say, "Be filled with the Spirit." That's why it's the first thing. God wants to test you and see if you can cultivate intimacy with Him first. And then it's your household. And then it's usually almost 99.9% of the time, your local church. And then God will start pouring into you and start showing you other things.
And trust me, He's looking at the heart, not time. He's seeing the condition of your heart, and then He's ready to take you to the next grade level, of faith and glory in the Spirit. How many are all encouraged? Yes. Look at the next verse. No servant, look at this. People will use this verse and say this is for people with a lot of money and houses and cars. They serve the Spirit of money. But Jesus actually is saying, according to this chapter, the people who serve that devil of Mammon are actually the people who are unjust with their money, who can't steward their money. Look, no servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon. Is Jesus not, in this verse, elaborating on what he said a few verses before, when saying, if you're not faithful with unrighteous Mammon, you can't be trusted with true riches. Yes. So what does it mean to serve Mammon? I'll tell you. Mammon controls you. What does that look like? You're fearful of losing your job. So you decide to work 15 hours, neglecting your children and your family at home, because you're fearful of how the money will come in.
You know what that means to me? That it's your money and it's not God's. A job opportunity pops up. You don't even pray and you take it in an instant, saying it's a God thing, but never going to Him and asking. You're controlled by money. You can't sow onto your local church or sow to the homeless, or sow in the Holy Spirit. It's prompting you to do so because you still own your money and your heart, it's not God's. so quick to not pull out that credit card and spend it even though you got it because you got to save your money like it's your money. Fear of mammin is enslavement to mammin. When you trust in God, you will steward your money, you will sow your money and you will love God. We have to be givers. The apostle Paul speaks about working hard to get finances so we can give more. You have to ask yourself in your heart, what am I really working for? What's the desire of my heart for my job? Is Jesus Jehovah Jaira or am I Jaira? Is Jesus the one who got me this job, who gives me this money, who got me this house, who got me this apartment, who got me this car for real, for real? Or am I just saying that but I don't believe it? You know who else did and said godly things but didn't even believe in God? The Pharisees. What's religion, doing things for God but you don't even believe in Him? What's rebellion? Grace by faith, I believe in God but you have no works. Oh but you're saying I'm saved by a works, well I'm not, I'm saying truth saving faith without works means that faith is dead, it was never a life.
So you have two different sides, you have the rebellious person who uses the word of God to excuse their practicing of sin and has no conviction and then you got the other one, the religious one who does things for God but doesn't even believe in the God they're serving and puts more faith in what they can do for God and the applause of men to make them feel righteous. And I see Jesus in the Scriptures rebuking the religious people a little bit more. People who dressed like they know God, had a church like they're a temple like they know God, can preach like they know God but they don't even believe in God. What do you serve? The God of the Bible or the manment of this world and Jesus says I want you to sow this amount onto your friend in your church or sow a hundred bucks into your co-worker who's a Muslim, would you do it? Or would you convince yourself that's probably not God. God wants me to save my money even though he says make friends with unrighteous manment. I'm not saying go broken not being able to pay your light bill and give all your money and I'm saying listen to the Holy Spirit by stewarding your money and placing your money which is not your money, God's money where he tells you to place it so you can store treasures in heaven. This makes sense. I'm not saying while out and go I'm giving all my money away because Pastor Mitch had to give it all the way. Don't stop. I'm saying this from experience. Steward your money like me and my wife we always are pressing into steward everything that God has given us better and better each day. You know why we want to steward it though? Because it's God's. Is there areas that I can always grow in, always. But I'm constantly seeking God saying God I need grace to grow in these areas. Thank you for bringing up this thing in my heart or this thing in my wife's heart.
We need to address this with you Lord. Let's press it in prayer brave and let's get through this season and let's trust that God is going to get us through with us power and grace so that we don't have this issue anymore in our heart. God continues to transform us into His image internally. But we're yielded. We have peace and we know that this church is not our church. It grieves me when people say you're church rich, you're the pastor of your church, right? No I'm not. It's not my church. I don't even feel like it's my church. There's a CEO that runs this church, a max I'm a general manager. But general managers can get replaced like this. If God wants to replace me, He will with the quickness. But He's the CEO, He's the owner. [MUSIC PLAYING] If you would seek him listen to this if you would seek him in your heart all the time and Yield his voice in your life. He will move I Was teaching the church this earlier Why do Christians go to the gym for a week it discouraged and not go for three months because they were going to the gym religiously They were going to the gym because the Bible says your body's a temple of the Holy Spirit go to the gym Okay, Jesus. You're gonna stay here. Wait for me. I'm going to the gym When Jesus wants to go to the gym with you When he wants to tell you the next rep to push or the next weight to pick up or the next half a mile to run or the next Burpee or the next son of visit God wants to guide you even at the gym. That's doing it on to his glory That's seeking him in a gym where there's a whole bunch of other people who don't see God and Then what happens when God says okay, don't go to the squat rack I want you to go to the to the pull-up bar and do a few pull-ups and you listen and you're obedient And then someone comes up and says hey how you're doing, bro?
You look familiar and now the person gets saved because you are obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit at the gym now the gym becomes your church It becomes a harvest field because you're yielded to the Holy Spirit and People will say bro. I don't hear his voice like that because you don't have faith Faith comes by and Hearing by the That's the Bible bro not in the Greek bro That's the rainbow word the spoken word. Can I get a rainbow while reading the Bible? Yes? I can I can read No servant can serve two masters and all of a sudden get a revelation of what that means by the spirit to get the now word That's hearing not reading I Can also be in my car And I'm praying in the spirit and all of a sudden I stop and the Lord begins to minister to me and speak to me I'm growing in faith because he's speaking to me and he begins to minister to me and say my son I'm so proud of you and I love you so much and that increases my faith because I heard his word You hear his voice like that is it audible? No, it's not awesome audible. It's an intrinsic voice that only can be heard by faith And then how do you know it's his voice, you know how faith and as you start believing You'll start seeing the invincible God manifest himself in the physical And then it gets real and then that scripture that says my sheep hear my voice I will know them and they will follow me actually becomes alive And then you read it and go. Oh my god. I get it. I get it. I hear his voice and I follow. Oh I'm a sheep The same for the the prophets of God Yeah, puzzles of the Lord. This is for children of God. It's for you No, I gotta be anointed by you to get it But you don't the anointing comes from the Holy Spirit You know you know you know you know who wants to be anointed Who's not anointed in here that wants to be anointed? Thank God no one raised their hand. Are you saved? Are you saved then you're anointed? The anointing comes from salvation Anointing means power it comes to when you give your life to Jesus
Not from someone touching you Is impartation real it is and God will only impart if he wants to do it. It doesn't matter how many people I touch Can't charge for an impartation Can't make it look all spiritual it comes strictly from God if God says lay your hands on this person And I want you to impart the gift of healing I will do it and obedience and if their heart is open they will receive it But that's his his will But you can't come to someone I want the gift of healing, but then you live in and compromise You want the gift but not the gift giver And he won't trust you with true spiritual riches until you get right with the little things That's what he's teaching us there He's teaching us the things you see get that right and he says get it right by knowing it ain't yours That money you got it's mine that wife or that husband you got it's mine that child you have it's mine that house in that Car I got it for you son. God. I want you to realize that even though you can't see me in the physical I've been taking care of you all this time and getting you these things you're spiritual, for you to believe that the car you drive came from a God you can't see takes faith, bro. A worldly person will say you're delusional, that's religious psychosis. But I've seen God manifest in the physical so many times of my life that you can say whatever you want, I know he's real psychosis. They got psychosis, they're tripping. To be walking around seeing trees and stars in the sky and not believe there's a God, how do you look up and stare in the sky and be like, that just came out of nowhere. You got that psychosis. That's crazy. No servant can serve two masters,
pray that he will hate the one and love the other or else he will be loyal. Law you to the one and despise the other, you cannot serve God and man. Next verse, I think that's it though. Look at this, now the Pharisees who were lovers of money also hurt all these things and they deride him, they got tight, they got mad. You know how they got mad? They couldn't understand what the heck he was saying. So they tried to deride him, get him off topic, too deep, because they love money, because money was their God. But the next one. And he said to them, look at this, you are those who justify yourselves before men. He bought on the internet who look Christian and anyone who has discerned the size of a five-year-old can know. You need to get off the internet and actually get in the word and pray. And he said to them, you are those who justify yourselves before men, you're so worried about the approval of men. But he says, but God knows your hearts. He's look at the Pharisees, the religious ones. The people who do it for the money on YouTube. Not for God. Every day they're thinking about their analytics and how they can grow more money instead of how they can get more souls. But I need to steward with excellence.
You need to steward with excellence by making sure your heart is about the kingdom first. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. What does men esteem? Money, success, fame. Being known, being liked. And God says, bro, Jesus says God doesn't even care about these things. Loving these things is an abomination to him. Because those are the things that they did everything that they were doing religiously for. Have you ever met someone who has faith in God who can't break out of a sin cycle? When someone's dealing with a sin cycle, what's usually the issue? Lack of faith in God. I've never met someone who's filled with faith, who's seeking the Lord, spending time with them and fighting the good fight of faith like the Apostle Paul said. Commuting with the spirit of faith, like the word of God says. Praying in the spirit building up their most holy faith, hearing by the word. I've never met someone who's increasing in faith who's having an issue with a sin cycle. As a matter of fact, they're breaking those cycles by the grace of God because what activates grace or power? Faith.
So is it a sin problem or a faith problem? When the disciples couldn't cast a demon out of that boy that was having a seizure, it was a faith problem. And Jesus says, you need to go fast 'cause you're in the flesh. They saw the boy start seizureing and freaked out. And instead of casting out demons like they were just doing, the 70, they freaked out and backed up and couldn't cast a demon out because what they saw in the physical was more real to them than what Jesus said in the spiritual. But Jesus didn't just leave him hanging. He said, no, you need to go fast. You need to go seek the Lord. You need to go fast and you need to get out the flesh and get right so you can come back and start casting out these type of demons. It's faith. And faith comes by hearing and hearing by the one more. Go to the next one. The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time, the kingdom of God has been preached and everyone is pressing into it. He's the hinge. Jesus said, "No one is greater than John the Baptist under the old covenant, but that John the Baptist is the least in the kingdom of God." That means the baby Christian is greater than John the Baptist. Why? Because John the Baptist was under the old covenant and there's a new testament or covenant by the blood of Jesus that makes us even greater than the greatest prophet of old.
He said, "The law and the prophets were until John and since that time, who came right after John?" So since the time of Jesus, which was when he's preaching, the kingdom of God has been preached through Jesus and everyone is pressing into it. They're casting out demons, they're healing the sick, they're going from city to city. He knew. He knew. It's time. And he's under Pharisees know the kingdom that the Messiah that you guys are waiting for and teaching about is finally here and it's me and you can't even tell it's me because you don't even believe in the God who sent me. You could have God standing right in front of you and not even know because you don't know God. If God is always moving, then why don't people always experience them? What does it mean when you, the last thing I'm going to say is what does it mean to seek and find? We think seeking means I got to go to a prayer closet and I got to pray for three hours in order to seek. Is that seeking? It is. Because you can go to a closet or a car or a bed or a room or a mountain or a river and go to seek God but when you get there, you're not thinking about God at all and you're meditating on your problems, you're meditating on other people, you're meditating on you and not meditating or thinking about or posturing your heart towards God and not desperate for him. Why do I seek God? Do you guys want to know why I seek God? I can't even see him standing next to me right now. Can you? Who can see Jesus in here? Let me know.
I don't. So then how can I experience God? How can I see him? I don't see him with physical eyes as if he's right here right now but I can see him move around me. So what is seeing God, what is finding when in my heart I have a yearning to experience God everywhere I go. Seeking God is when I go to the gym, I'm communing with the Holy Spirit and I'm desperate to see God move. Seeking God is when I'm with my wife and my marriage, I'm listening to the Holy Spirit on what to say to my wife because he knows the perfect words and I put God in our conversation. Seeking God is when I'm with my kids at the playground and instead of scrolling on my phone or worrying about issues in ministry, I release it to the Lord and look at my kids and say, "Jesus, what do you want me to teach your children today?" You don't think he's going to reveal himself in that situation he will and that's finding. It's finding when my son says, "Dad, I memorized the Bible verse in school and recites a whole scripture to me." It's finding when my daughter sees another little girl by herself and runs over to her at the park and says, "Hey, I want to be your friend because she has care for the daughter and I've been teaching her to care for other people and have humility and love." You see that these are the moments, these are the moments where the Lord is like, "I really want you to go to this publics real quick and I want you to talk to the person about the register, but I got to get back to work. Who's my God?" "Man, man." "I'm not going to get fired, it's two minutes and God got in my bag. I got to be out working 20 minutes, I'm good, five minute conversation and the person gets touched and they needed that word and they say, "Bro, you don't get it, I needed that." This just changed my life. I was going to commit suicide tomorrow, but because you said something, I'm not going
to kill myself and you just thought it was a simple thing at the publics, not knowing that God was about to reveal himself or you would find. This is the whole purpose of life. John 17, 3, that you may know him. Know him means experience with God. God wants you to experience him throughout your life. If you don't experience it. It doesn't matter how much of the Bible you read or how many hours you pray. If God is not revealing Himself to you in your life, you're not truly seeking in your heart. He will not go against His Word. He desperately wants to reveal Himself to you more than you can imagine. But He can't go against what His Word says. In your heart, you must truly believe that He is who He says He is. You must, the Word says, even the size of a mustard seed, just move in faith and believe in a God you've never seen. And if right now you got all this good in your heart that's making you feel that unbelief, how many of y'all feel that right now? Like, dang, I want to believe, but I have a bunch of unbelief. How many of y'all feel that in your heart? You got a bunch of, that's what the guy said, when his son got delivered from those demons. Lord, I believe, I just see it, but I got unbelief. What's that called? Sanctification, purifying of your heart
that comes from God when you genuinely want it. Because man of God, what if I told you in every season everyone has unbelief? But what do you do with unbelief? Do you go to God or do you try to muster faith in your own strength which is gonna lead to you unbelieving even more? I'm gonna go to God like my dad. And I'm gonna lay on my face and say, "God, I don't believe like I should and I want you "and I need you and I can't do this without you. "You've already gotten me this far. "I've already seen so much and the faith of my last season "can't get me through this season." So I need an increased Lord and I cry out to God and the presence of God touches me in a way and fills me in a way where I know God thank you Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, you're giving me faith right now and I start praying in the Holy Ghost and I start worshiping God and I get filled and I know and I know deep in my spirit, now I got the faith to get through what I need to get through. I can't say that it was me that conjured of faith. I can't say that it was me that brought the increase. It was God. And what does the Bible say? The pure-hearted shall see God. We think pure-hearted means he's a really nice person. He's pure. He's so pure because he's so nice.
Let's be real, who's done it, I've done it. Someone's nice and I say they're pure-hearted. I had to repent. Holy Spirit, show me that doesn't mean they're pure-hearted, they're just nice. Someone who's purified in their heart is someone who looks more and more like Jesus. And why will they see God because they can handle more of God? The more your heart is purified into his image, the more he can reveal of himself to you. How badly does God want to reveal himself to you? Very bad, more than you can think, bro. So bad that when you were even in the world and didn't know him, he still protected you. When you were in the world and you were as enemy, he covered you as a knucklehead to carry you in your sin, bro, in your lukewarmness, in the witchcraft, the drug dealing, in the adultery, in the fornication, in the lying, in the depression, in the suicide, you were going to kill yourself and you think, "Wow, I didn't kill myself, "the who do you think that was?" That was God. So now that you're in the faith and that you're with him, you don't think he wants to be like, "Hey, I'm here, woo!" He wants to show up and show out in a way that blows your mind and has you on the ground crying because you're so infatuated with him. He wants you to give him true glory because he is glory,
because you've experienced his glory. What is the glory of God experience? God revealed to you in real time. And you can't even give God glory unless you go back to a moment where his glory was revealed. It could have been revealed to you when you read a verse about the cross and the Lord put you and showed you a vision. That's how my wife got saved because she was reading the book of Romans and saw a vision of Jesus on the cross. That was the Holy Spirit by his grace, revealing a vision to his daughter, so that she could actually believe and begin to weep and give him glory and give him or her. From telling you, some people have experienced the glory here at the church for the first time. How many testimonies have we heard of people experiencing the presence of God for the first time? Deliverance, healing, or getting a vision for the first time, coming with their hands, I don't believe, and then on the ground, weeping and shaking. Yes, that's the glory of God being revealed personally to that person in real time for them to experience. 'Cause you can see one person on the ground crying and the next person looking real stale. That person opened up their heart, this person still has their heart closed, thinking that God's gonna open up their heart for them. Regardless of how you feel, I want you. Faith is key, bro. You can't even be saved without it.
And it comes by hearing and hearing by the word, right? The only way you can be saved is by believing the Gospel message, which is this, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's good news. Everyone say, "Good news." Why are there so many Christians, when you ask them, "What's the Gospel?" They don't even know it's good news. They don't even know what it is. They think it's music. They think it's their parents being prayer warriors. They think it's them. You say, "What's the Gospel?" They say, "Oh, yeah, bro. I go to church every now and then." Why? Why has the word Gospel been perverted into this religious jargon? Gospel just means good news, and there's only one Gospel of Jesus Christ. The bad news is that we were all separated from God because of one sin. Y'all listening to the greatest message that was ever written down for us to read and experience? Because some of you tonight have heard this message, but have never experienced the Gospel come alive in your heart. It comes by you opening up your heart with faith. Everyone say faith. Everyone say faith. This is the good news. First, the bad news is you've been separated from God because of sin. One, how many times have you sinned? So we all deserve eternal separation from God forever. We all deserve death. I'm not talking about physical death. I'm talking about spiritual death. The lake of fire and hell is very real. It's not a fictitious thing in a dream or a storybook or a movie. It is a real place. Everyone say place. That place is more vivid and real than here that this physical realm ran right now. We're all supposed to go to hell because we've sinned. But Jesus, the image of the invincible God the Bible says, came to restore us back into relationship with God who's perfect, holy, blameless, and sinless. But we can't even be with God or stand before Him with one sin. So if we've sinned many times and we fall short, how the heck, how can we be with God? There had to be a sacrifice and a blood sacrifice and it had to be a human sacrifice.
There had to be one human who would restore us back into relationship with God. The first one, Adam, brought the curse upon humanity. Now Jesus, the second Adam brought life. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, nobody else. Born of a virgin, lived a life like us, sinless onto death, right? We know the story, it's real. He really lived in a human vessel. He really was here. He lived just like us. He was from Nazareth, the poor city, small city, and the slums. Father was a carpenter, we know Mom Mary had other brothers, other siblings. It was tempted like us, had to sleep like us, eat food like us and drink water like us and live like a human. He was human, God in a body, God in a body. Why is he God? Because he never sinned. You tell me one person that you know, human being, who's never sinned, tell me. Only Jesus, that's why he's not just a prophet. He's not just a Christ conscious. He's not just a good teacher. He is Lord, which means he's the highest power. I'll put it in better terms for you. Jesus Christ is the highest power and there's no one higher than him. Live the life, sinless, gave himself in after his ministry of casting our demons, healing the sick, raising the dead, preaching the gospel of the kingdom after three and a half years, approving his deity through miracle signs and the power of God so that people can see he gives himself in to be arrested for a crime he never committed, accused wrongly by the Pharisees who were filled with devils. And these demonic spirits in these Pharisees and sodasies thought if we kill the Son of God, we won't be judged. We know this because when Jesus was casting the Legion of Demons out of that man, what do they say? It's not our time yet. These demons thought he was sending them to the lake of fire for judgment, but Jesus didn't come for judgment. He came to rescue us, but he is coming back for judgment. Don't go tell them. Why? Because he didn't want the devil, not just the people, the demons to know, because he had to complete the works on the cross. He wanted the devil to literally think, in his prideful mind. We know he's the son of God. If we kill him, we won't be judged.
Jesus took that and saved humanity. He took the devil's pride and used it to save us. So he gives himself in to get a crown of thorns beating into his head with a reed, to be slapped around and mocked and spit on and disrespected and dishonored when he did nothing wrong. He just raised the dead. A man was dead for four days, Lazarus, he just raised the dead, which led the Israelites to start screaming, Hosanna, Hosanna, as he came in Jerusalem on that donkey, and the same ones who screamed, Hosanna was saying, crucify him. Why? Because they thought that Jesus would be a savior in the physical. They thought that Jesus was going to save them from roaming captivity and free them like David, like a warrior king, like a physical warrior, but Jesus didn't come to do that. He came to free them in the spirit realm. So the same ones who thought, oh my God, he raised that man, Lazarus, from the dead on the fourth day, he has to be the Messiah. He's going to come and free us from roaming captivity, Hosanna, Hosanna and the highest. Then they find out he got arrested. He got arrested. I thought he's the Messiah. I thought he's going to save us. He's a fake, because they were more worried about their physical life than their spiritual. Just like people want God to provide for them and when he doesn't, he's not real. But you don't get it, bro, I've been praying for like three months and it didn't happen. Just because it didn't happen don't mean God isn't real. Your heart's probably not postured right and you need to go through a process of refinery before you can receive the thing that God wants to bless you with more than you do. Or maybe the thing you're praying for isn't the right thing to pray for. Just because your prayers not answered doesn't mean God's not real. And he gives himself in and he gets beaten, he gets whipped with a nine-tails whip 39 times, 39 times excruciating torment with flesh hanging off his body, unrecognizable
carrying that cross. The same Jesus who walked in on the or who rode in on the donkey is now unrecognizable, mold like a dog, like a pit bull or a rod-riler, eating out the flesh of somebody to the point where you can't even recognize who they are in the flesh because they're so deformed. The Bible says he was unrecognizable. That's how bad he was beaten. And where do you recognize who somebody is, the face? I can look at Fred even if he's been beaten and know it's Fred if his face is good. But if I look at Fred and his face is all contoured, I have to look, is that Fred? That's how bad Jesus was being. And he carried that cross and he went to the hill of Golgotha and he went up on the cross he was nailed to it, it's an entire time shedding innocent blood. Sin produces death, blood produces life. If we go to the doctor and we're sick and the doctor is checking us with all his instruments and can't figure out what's wrong, he'll tell us to get blood work because everything is found in the blood. It's a spiritual all of Leviticus talks about it. Blood is life and sin is death. So in order for the sins of the world to be canceled, there had to be the blood of a perfect human that brought us that opportunity of salvation. So Jesus, fully God, fully man, gives himself in to bleed, bleed perfect blood and take whips that bring our healing and take a crown of thorn that gives us peace and was nailed to that cross and finished everything. He destroyed Satan in every demonic spirit. Your Bible says on that cross, he disarmed every principality and power and made a public embarrassment of them. Why were they embarrassed by the body of Christ? Because they thought, yes, we got him killed. But the minute he see died and gave up the ghost in the realm of the spirit, they lost their weaponry.
They were disarmed and realized, oh shoot, we messed up. And on the third day, because he never sinned, and he overcame death, and he overcame the grave. By the power of the Holy Ghost, he raised from the dead. I'm going to say that Jesus rose from the dead in his body. He is currently right now in his glorified body. I'm going to say it again, picture this in your mind. Jesus is in his body with the holes in his hands and feet. Right now, wherever he wants to be. When it says seated at the right hand of the Father, it means an equal authority, and an equal dominion and power to the Father. The gospel is this, it's good news. Even though you've sinned, and you deserve the lake, and I've sinned, and I deserve the lake, and I deserve hell, and eternal separation from God, because this life is short as it is. Jesus came and saved me. He gives me an opportunity for salvation through his blood. All I have to do is in my heart, everyone say, "Heart." Heart means inner man, in my inner man, I have to truly believe inside. You can fake something on the outside, but you can't fake something on the inside. And in order to receive salvation, in order to receive the Holy Spirit and be born again, God's not worried about the outside. He's looking at the inside of you. Inside of you, do you believe that Jesus is Lord, the highest power, that he truly rose from the dead,
after that death on the cross, and have you truly, internally decided I'm repenting, and I'm turning away from all these things I've been following, and I'm turning to Jesus. Not even fully knowing what it's gonna look like, not even fully understanding everything, but it's enough, the size of a mustard seed, for God to plant the mustard seed of the gospel in my heart so it can begin to grow. And then through discipleship, through intimacy with God, through brothers and sisters in Christ, that seed begins to get watered. And let me tell you the Bible even says that some will receive the seed of the Word, and because of the trials of life, that thing will get choked up by rocks, and because of the cares of the world, thorns, so some people in here once gave their life to Jesus, but then because of the cares of the world and trials and tribulations, you went back to the world worse than you were before, and God is calling you back home tonight. The prodigal son went and squandered his inheritance, came back and the father ransomed and kissed him and threw a party for him. God ain't mad at you at all, he's in love with you. And if he brought you to this church tonight, he wanted you to hear this message, and he wants you to come back home. Is the process of walking this walkout easy?
Everyone say no. Anyone says it's super easy, bro. They're not picking up their cross daily. His yoke is easy. His burden is light, but I have to submit to that daily. So if you wanna, maybe you were raised in a religious church where you thought by going to church and doing what your grandmother or mother said was how you were gonna be saved, and now you're realizing, bro, I'm not saved. I've been playing religious, religious, working for God, but I don't never really believe in my heart, and tonight's the night you did, he's saved. If you wanna come back on that narrow road, tonight's the night to do it, and God is calling you home because he's in love with you, so in love with you. He's protected you and you have breath in your lungs. I want everyone to stand up. It's gonna say this quick prayer. Holy Spirit, you've already been gripping our hearts. Our inner men, the inside of us, Lord, you've been gripping us. I pray, Holy Spirit, that you would touch everyone who needs to surrender tonight. May it be a very clear conviction right now in their heart. The Lord says he's not gonna judge any of y'all. He loves you. And if Jesus died on that cross publicly, we should give our life to him publicly. That's what this altars for, in Jesus' name.
So if you wanna give your life to Jesus, I want you to come to the altar right now, we're gonna pray for you, come on up. And anybody online that wants to give a life to Jesus, put a one in the chat. (congregation applauding) Hallelujah, man, come on up. (congregation applauding) Amen. (congregation applauding) (gentle music) Come on up, come on. - It's time. It's time to come on up. - Come on up, hallelujah, man, this is amazing. Come on up. This is what it's about. This is what makes the Father happy with his heart. His children coming home. Just imagine a Father who loves his children. And his children left the house and they went far far away and the Father just wants him to come home so bad. That's what's happening right now. He wants you to come home, and he wants to fill you with his love. He wants to break the chains of the enemy off you. He wants to heal that area of your heart right now at this altar and fill you with his identity with his love. So come to this altar and don't hesitate.
God's not mad at you. I'm gonna tell you this. You cannot do it on your own. You need Jesus. My faith does not come from me. It comes from the Lord. Your faith comes from the Lord. He wants to increase that. By you just spending time with him in your heart, by you focusing on him in your heart throughout the day, by thinking about him, by desiring him, by pulling out the word of God, by praying, by fellowship and coming to church. All these things are great things. As long as your heart is truly for him. It's all about Jesus. All about Jesus. So I want you guys to close your eyes. I'm gonna pray first. So Father, thank you with your hearts. Touch by your love right now. (gentle music) Thank you Lord, you love him so much. You're so deeply in love with him. I hear the Lord saying he's not gonna punish you. Even though you've done wrong, it's all under the blood. Lord's not gonna punish you like an earthly father would. His mercy runs deep, and they're new every morning. Thank you Lord, that you don't wanna punish us.
You wanna chisel away at our heart. Thank you Lord, that you're not angry at us. You're desperately in love with us. You are the jealous God, Jehovah Kanah, the one who's jealous about us, who will chase us down at three o'clock in the morning in downtown Atlanta to show us I love you, and I'm bringing you home. I want you guys to say Jesus, you are Lord, the highest power. You did down that cross from my sins, from my salvation. You shed perfect blood, so I could be forgiven. Say, I am forgiven. You rose from the dead on the third day by the power of the Holy Spirit to give me power. And I repent, and turn to you Jesus. I repent of sin. I repent of self, I just follow you now. Say, Jesus lead me to green pastors. Lead me on the narrow. Jesus name, amen. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus. All right, all the prayer warriors at the front, they're gonna pray for you, okay, prayer team, let's start laying hands and praying, and everyone that's worshiped us. Our brothers and sisters are receiving the ministering of the Lord's Holy Spirit.

The Lord kept showing me a fence. He showed me a fence like a cage. It's a cage that you lock yourself in. There's no freedom in a fence. A fence is when we care about ourselves so much we can't forgive or let go. A fence is when we hold other people to the debt that we believe that they owe. It's when their sin against us becomes debt for ourselves. And what the Lord is saying is he wants you
to release that debt. He wants to really free people from a fence tonight. And a fence is a choice. And when you get so deep in a fence, you start to become delusional to it. So take this moment to examine your heart. If you know that you are unsafe, or should nobody in your beat, living in willful sin or holding on to any unforgiveness or bitterness,
I kindly ask you to refrain from taking communion 'cause it is very holy, like I said. And for everybody who's watching online too, I want to join you. I want to ask that you join us and take your communion. And same thing goes for you. If you're watching online and you may be unsafe, you have not submitted yourself to the Lord, holding on to anything that you know you need to let go and you're refusing to lay it down, please refrain from taking communion. So with that being said, I want to offer you guys just a brief moment between you and the Holy Spirit to lay aside every weight. (gentle music) (gentle music) (gentle music) (gentle music) Amen. Ephesians chapter three, verse 17 through 19, this is, that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of God, which passes knowledge that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. So there is something about the love of Christ that God doesn't just want us to only hear about, he want us to comprehend. Paul says something almost paradoxical,
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. So how can you know something that surpasses your knowledge? Because the love of Christ is not merely information to be learned, it's a reality to be encountered. You see, here's the thing, you can study the cross and still not comprehend the love behind it. You can know the historical facts of the crucifixion and still not know the heart of the one who hung there. You see, you can know that Jesus was beaten, you can know that he was pierced, you can know that he was crucified, but communion calls us to ask a deeper question, why would he do it? Simply, the answer is love, everybody say love. You see, the cross is the measurement of God's love. Romans 5, 8 puts it beautifully, but God demonstrated his own love towards us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. And I want you guys to pay attention to the language that Paul is using. God doesn't just say he loves us, no. What did he also do? He demonstrated it. He demonstrated his love. You see, love became visible. Love became tangible. Love took on flesh, came down. Love entered a body. Love was put on a cross. Love was pierced in his hands and feet.
Love allowed itself to be beaten. Love was mocked, love was stripped. Love was ridiculed by his own creation. I want you to catch that. Love was lifted up between heaven and earth. The cross is God's love made visible. So if you ever wonder what God thinks about you, here's what I want you to keep in mind. Don't begin with your circumstances. Look at the cross, look to Calvary because your circumstances can change. Your emotions can change. People can change, but the cross permanently declares, this is how much I love you. And this is what you hold on to. So I want everybody right now to just take out the burn. (soft music) This is why we come to the communion table. We're all right now gathered at a table in this spirit to remember what Jesus Christ did for us. This bread right here, it represents his body. And just like Pastor Rich was preaching, And because God loved you so much, He was willing to become unrecognizable so now you can become recognizable again in the eyes of the Father. That's what sin does. It disfigures you. It makes it to where you're not even recognizable in Jesus, who was perfect sinless. This is why the Bible says nobody was marching the degree that He was marching. I want you to think about this. He hung on that cross, the one who never sinned. He never experienced sin. But He loved you so much that in His final moments on the cross, He took upon the sins of the entire world. Not just your sins, but He took upon the sins of even those that died. He took upon the sins of those who were not even yet walking, but in His foreknowledge. And He took upon even your future
sins, even the sins, the mistakes that you will make tomorrow, He already paid the price for. All that was absorbed in His body because of love. That's why His body was broken into many pieces so that you can be made whole again. So I want everybody right now to hold the bread up, and I want you to hold it hard. And I want you just to close your eyes. Close your eyes. And I want you just to allow the Holy Spirit to show you that every whip that He took was so that you can be made whole. Every chunk of meat that fell off of His body was for you to become recognizable again in the eyes of the Father. And the Scripture says, as He went through it, the Bible says He had joy because He knew what would come about through His sacrifice, through the breaking of His body. He knew that He would gain sons and daughters. He would gain true servants. So I want everybody right now just to break it in half. Father, we bless your holy name, and we thank you for sending your only begotten Son. Our Lord and our Savior, King Jesus, you came down willfully off of your throne, and you stepped into our reality. You lived the life perfect just so that we could be redeemed again. You had your body broken into many of the pieces. You were humiliated. You were scolded. You were ridiculed. You had your beard poured. A crown of thorns was placed on your head to mock you. To mock the King of Kings. A reed was placed in your hands to mock a scepter. And a road was placed on you after you were beaten to mock who is the who is royalty. We thank you that through all of that you could have stopped. You could have sent legions of angels to destroy everybody but love kept you there to be scolded by your own creation because you knew what would happen when you completed everything and you settled on that cross. It is finished. So we thank you in Jesus' mighty name and you may all take off the bread and you may eat and face. And now I want you to open up the cup. This cup represents his blood and oh as I think about it we would not be here right now standing given God glory, given him praise if it wasn't for the shedding of his blood. He shut his blood so that we can be redeemed and I want you to understand this. Your sins are completely washed because of his blood. There is no condemnation for those who are now in Christ Jesus because of what the blood. The blood speaks a better thing over your life. It speaks a better thing over you. It's the blood of Jesus that freed you from every legal debt and obligation that you owe that you were supposed to pay Christ's built his blood. So remember that you hold on to
that. You remember the blood of Jesus and know that you're washed where everybody lifting up the cup high. I want you to lift it up as high as you can because this is a celebration. This is a toast onto what Jesus Christ did. None of this would be possible if you did not shed your blood. And I thank you, Lord. Because of the shedding of your blood, the stripes that you took, you dealt with the greatest illness ever known to man. You dealt with the greatest disease ever known to man, and that was sin. Now we're cleansed because of your blood, and we give you all the praise and all the honor. We love you, Jesus. We can't say-- we can't stop saying thank you. There is no amount of times we can never get to the point where we say we thank you enough. This is impossible. So we hold on to what you did on that cross, outcauvery. In Jesus mighty name, you may all take and drink of the precious blood of Jesus. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Can we just thank Jesus right now? Can we just thank Him? We just thank you for the blood. Come on. Just thank Him right now. Thank Him for the blood. Thank Him that you have victory. Thank Him that you're redeemed, that you're saved.
And this is what it means to be a follower of the disciple of Jesus Christ. Amen? So I just want you guys to join me as we close out. We just thank you. We thank you so much, Father. Thank you that we know you. Thank you that we're in relationship with you. Thank you for everything. Thank you that you drew us into the sun. So in the name of Jesus, Heavenly Father, I pray right now that everybody in this atmosphere received this word, they take it, and they don't allow the enemy to choke the word out of them.
