The Judgement That Circles Back
Part 4 of 8
This course gently leads you into understanding bitterness and learning how to recognize its root before it takes deeper hold. We explore how offense begins, the danger of unresolved anger, and how quiet judgment can begin to shape the heart. You’ll be guided into the freedom that comes through forgiveness and surrendering pain fully to God. Each lesson points you back to healing, love, and the posture of Christ.
Welcome back to the bitterness course today We are going to go over part for the judgment that circles back the legal dimension of unforgiveness in Part one we spoke about what bitterness is and how it's a root in part two We spoke about what causes that root and that's offense and in part three. We spoke about the danger of unresolved anger and how Holding it overnight creates a topos a legal access point for the enemy in your life and in your marriage today I want to give you a Revelation that will shake you if you truly receive it because what you thought was on the person who hurt you may actually be circling Back and landing on you bitterness is not just an emotional problem. It is a legal problem in the spirit Revelation chapter 12 verse 10 calls the enemy the accuser of the brethren the one who builds cases against the people of God looking for legal grounds looking for open doors and bitterness is one of his favorite doors because it is so Justified the wound was real the offense actually happened. Nobody can tell you what you had No reason to feel the way you felt. Nobody can tell you that you have no reason No one could tell you that because you have the reason and that is exactly what makes it so dangerous It does not feel like an open door It feels like a completely reasonable response to being hurt But watch what happens in the spirit the moment you hold on forgiveness the judgment shifts Jesus told the parable in Matthew 18 about a servant who owed his master an enormous debt More than he could ever pay in a lifetime and the master moved with compassion Forgave the entire debt all of it canceled it released it But that same servant went out and found a fellow servant who owed him a small amount He grabbed him by the throat and demanded payment when the master heard what happened He called the servant back and said I forgave you of all that debt because you begged me Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant? Just as I have pity on you and he delivered him to the tormentors that word tormentors is important It is a Greek word by sadness dice Those who afflict those who torment Jesus is telling us that unforgiveness opens the door to spur to torment The servant did not end up in torment because of what the other servant did to him He ended up in torment because of what he refused to do the same principle operates in the spirit today When we refuse to forgive the accuser turns to us and says she will not forgive like she Jesus forgave
She's not being conformed to his image Romans 8 29 says for whom he foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son. We were predestined to be Symmorphic, that's the Greek word. It means shape into the same form sharing the same nature and Expression as Christ God did not save us just to get us to heaven He saves us to make us look like Jesus think like Jesus love like Jesus Forgive like Jesus So when you hold on to unforgiveness the accuser points at you and says she cannot do what Jesus did or he cannot do What Jesus did she or he is not like him and now the judgment you thought was on the person who offended you has Circled back and landed on you Think about the Prophet Jonah Jonah did not want to go to Nineveh because he did not want God to show mercy to people he'd Believed deserved judgment. He would rather have died than watch God forgive them and sitting under that withered vine Jonah was more miserable than anyone in Nineveh his refusal to release God's mercy to others had had locked him in a prison of bitterness and Resentment that even the belly of a well hadn't fully broken the judgment Jonah wanted for Nineveh never landed there But his unwillingness to let it go kept circling back and landing on him Unforgiveness does not protect you it exposes you. It does not hurt them. It holds you. It doesn't hurt the other person It holds you back It allows you to be Tormented just like that servant who didn't want to forgive his fellow servant the master had to throw him in jail And so the father is saying the same thing. Jesus was telling this parable this story and Jesus is just letting us know for us to let go of this unforgiveness because when you do not let go of the unforgiveness it becomes an unresolved anger that you're holding on to and that unresolved anger is Going to become a fence and every single time the person that this unresolved anger is towards toward the situation that this unresolved anger is towards to anything that happens that is around that unresolved anger is going to Spring up that offense and that offense is what allows that situation to take root in the root becomes Bitterness and when the root has become bitterness in branches out to other people and now it's affecting your ministry affecting your relationship affecting your future affecting your children affecting your marriage affecting your Your your brothers and sisters in Christ affecting the religious with your father and mother and your pastors and your and people who are covering you and god is
wanting to put a stop to the bitterness to his people and as we leave from this part four today i want you to reflect on this question is there judgment i have been holding that i thought was on someone else but has actually been landing on me is the judgment circling back is what i thought the person did to me is what i thought god was going to judge that person coming back on me because i've been holding on to this unforgiveness and it's time to release it let me pray for you today before you go lord i thank you that the viewer is recognizing that the unforgiveness they have been holding is not protecting them it was working against them like jonah had been sitting on his own bitterness watching it eat him alive while the people he was withholding love and gratefulness to lord god and forgiveness to was moved on father i thank you that there are choosing today to release every person they have held in the prison of their judgment and lord i thank you that you're going to conform them into the image of you into the image of your son jesus christ thank you lord that you are going to make them look like you and that you forgive them for it in jesus name amen and i will catch you in part five of the bitterness course god bless you
