Spontaneous Moments: Experiencing Wonder at Legacy

I just want to say thank you for access to your presence. If it was not for the King showing up in this season 2,000 years ago, born in Bethlehem, wrapped up in swaddling cloths and placed in a manger, there is no way that we would have access to our Heavenly Father. But because he came, because he advented, because he arrived, because he lived, because he died, and because he resurrected, we have access to abundant life through Christ Jesus. I want you to know that today, what we've received access to is not just reserved for Sunday. Maybe better said, it's not just reserved for Sunday morning. Because some of us, as soon as we walk out of church on Sunday afternoon, it's like we lose it. Where did it go? Where did the presence go? Where did the power go? Where did the sanctification go? Where did the purity go? Where did the holiness go? Where did the reverence go? It's almost like for some of us, the fear of the Lord slips out of our grasp on our way home from church. I don't know who I'm talking to right now, but I'm speaking to you just by way of the Holy Spirit. I don't know why I feel to say this, but I sense that for some of us, like when you're here, you really want it. You really want holiness. You really want to hold on to Jesus. You really want to encounter Him every single moment of every single day. You really want to be hungry for His Word. You really want to commit and consecrate your life in such a way
that you know that your choices bring glory to Jesus. But as soon as you leave the house, you're like, I don't know what happened. Something just slipped away. Holy Spirit, where did you go? I want you to know, this is what I feel to tell you today. I feel led by the Holy Spirit to tell you this, that what we experience here in this house, you can experience in your house. What you experience in this house, you can experience on your job. What you experience in the altar, you can experience in your marriage. For some of us, it's like, yeah, I feel the peace of God's presence at all times, except for when I'm interacting with my spouse. There's just so much unforgiveness there. There's just so much bitterness there. There's just such a thick callous that's come as a result of decades of disconnection. Can I tell you that the great physician is able to heal you in a moment in this place of His presence because Jesus came. All of this is available to you all of the time. It's not just here on Sunday morning. I don't know if you're in here today and you feel some fear facing 2026. Man, 2025 was a really great year. I don't know that I'm going to be able to replicate it. Can I just encourage you, you don't have to because you can accomplish nothing in your own strength. It's not by might. It's not by your power. But it's by the Holy Spirit that you're able to accomplish anything at all. So if you're feeling the weight of a new season, if you're looking ahead and you're afraid, can I just encourage you today that the atmosphere that we know, I'm not just talking about the atmosphere that we feel. I'm talking about the presence that we know.
The psalmist said, be still and know. It's not just a feeling. It's not just glory goosebumps. It's not just an atmosphere with good music. It is a person who is alive and present and prepared to heal and offer Himself. Do you really think He did all that work to go to the cross on your behalf so that you would live without His presence in 2026? So that you would be without His blessing? So that you would not be able to hold on to hope? No, He went to the cross for this very moment and for every moment after this moment that you walk out of there. I don't know who I'm talking to, but the Holy Spirit is doing something in a heart of a father today. I'm telling you, I don't know who you are. The Holy Spirit hasn't shown me, but sir, if that is you, if that is you, can I tell you that the Holy Spirit wants to transform you and make you into the type of father that you privately want to be. You've been crying out to God in your prayer closet. I see you driving in the morning in your truck and you're like, I want to be a better dad. I just don't know how. I've never seen a blueprint. My dad was terrible. He used to beat my mother. But deep down in your heart, you're like, I want to be the type of dad that I feel God calling me to be. Can I tell you, sir, if that's you today, the Holy Spirit's got your number and He is transforming you into the father you want to be. I don't know who I'm talking to. I'm saying I feel led of the Spirit just to take this moment and address any fear that you have that you will be without God's presence, that you'll be without God's provision, that you'll be without God's providence.
No, all of that is in His presence. And the presence is not just a feeling, but it's in the knowing by faith, faith, faith, the substance of things hoped for, but the evidence of things not seen. We prayed for you back here earlier this morning that there would be a supernatural impartation from Christ Jesus himself, that he would deliver unto you a gift of faith, a gift of faith. Remember dad. Remember that father that was like, Hey, I do believe, but like help my unbelief. And Jesus said, here is a gift of faith. If that's where you're at today and you're like, yeah, I believe I've been believing since I was like eight, but I have no hope for this season of my life. And I encourage you today that in his presence, you have everything that you need and you never have to leave. You don't have to leave. This is what Jesus came to do. And I get the sense, even as I share that there, there's some ideas kind of floating around like, ah, you know, that's, that's very nice. I appreciate the polite preaching today, preacher. That's very kind, but you don't know the way that I live. Well, I'm not consulting with the way that you live prior to submitting myself to the word of God, as I prophesied this to you, because the reality is that Jesus came to tear the veil and to cross over the chasm that kept us separated between us and our heavenly father, our creator, because he went to the cross on your behalf, because he dealt with the distance between you and your savior. You now have access to God, you know, have access to God. And he's here right now. If you've never had an encounter with God before, and you've always wondered what one would be like. Can I encourage you that God is here today, right now in the room, and he's available for the encounter that you've longed for. And it doesn't take a bunch of work from you.
He did the work on the cross to cover the distance. And I know a lot of times when we think about our relationship with God, we'll say things like this. Well, in 2025, I really walked away from God. What you need to know is that he followed you the whole time. You thought you were walking away every single step he took with you. Every single moment that you thought that your decisions separated you from him, he just walked with you the whole time. David said, where can I go? I could ascend to the highest ice. I could make my bed down in Sheol. And yet you would be there. There's nowhere that I can go where I can escape the love that you have for me. And that's true for you as well. So Lord, we just say we're dependent. We're dependent upon you, King of Kings. We're dependent upon you to shine your light upon our faces. We're dependent upon you for the breath in our lungs. We're dependent upon you for the hope in our heart. We're dependent upon you for the confidence in our calling. We're dependent upon you. We need you, King of Kings. We need you, Lord of Lords, in the same way that the earth is groaning, that the earth, that the nations, that every tribe and tongue was crying out, awaiting your arrival, Messiah. We cry out and we say, come, Spirit and the bride say, come, come, Lord Jesus. We need you. We need encounters with you. We're not going to be able to face the day unless you show up. Come, Lord. We're dependent upon you.
We're acknowledging today our hunger for you. We're acknowledging today our thirst, our craving on the inside of our souls, that unless we see your face, God, we will go on being blind. We need you. We need you, King of Kings. Who am I praying for right now? Is there anybody else in here like, yep, I'm with you, pastor. Like I need God. I need a fresh touch. Like I need him to show up in my life. I'm not even going to make it through the holidays unless the Holy Ghost shows up. Who am I talking to? Is there anybody else in here? Who am I praying for right now? Is there anybody else in here? Would you just join your faith with mine and tell them, tell them, I need you. Come on. Would you lift a prayer to him? We need you, God. We need you God. We need you God. Would you tell him again? We need you. Come Lord. Now invite him. Come Lord. Come Lord. We need you Lord. Maybe you don't have words. for showing up thank you for worshiping today thank you for praying today if you want to be seated you can we're almost almost prepared to dismiss I just want to share one announcement with you before we go well I don't know about you guys but I think this was the right way to have a Christmas Sunday service um I over prepared for today I gotta be honest um I have about nine pages of notes none of which I got to and uh I told the worship team and Pastor John I don't care if I get to anything for me I'd rather worship than preach personally but I also know that preaching is an opportunity for us to receive the Word of God which is necessary when we gather because faith comes by hearing and hearing by where my saints at in here okay y'all trailed off on me there we need the Word of God a lot of times people look at worship as an opportunity to receive from God but really worship is an opportunity to give to God don't worry you're going to be blessed in the process don't worry when you're in God's presence you will receive a whole lot amen but it's our opportunity to offer unto the Lord that which is costly right it's sacrificial very first time you read about worship in the Bible you go to the book of Genesis and you see the moment where our father Abraham sacrifices he's about to sacrifice his boy the promised seed the son Isaac right that's the very first time worship is ever mentioned in the scripture so when we come into the house of God to worship we're not just coming in so that we can have a good feeling but we're coming in so that we can worship the one that is worthy of everything all of it here you go God it's for you we brought you gifts wise men still bringing gifts in 2025 we brought you some fragrant oil bring you everything Lord so so know that and then when we're into the into the Word you know that's an opportunity for God to get something to you so it's really important we gather around the Word but um today I just didn't have time to preach so I don't know listen to the podcast from last week or something but or maybe come to south because we'll see maybe I'll preach there who knows we're not going to do the kids program in the third service so maybe I'll preach in the third if you want to double dip today but Or maybe not doesn't matter to me It's his church. He can do what he wants
But I wanted to testify to you Something church and that is so y'all ready for this testimony That we have met Goal number one we've raised $250,000 And that awesome come on, thank you Jesus We've met the goal and That means that the match is also coming. And so we will receive by the end of the year $500,000 on our way to the $1,000,000 goal. Come on one more time. Could we celebrate what God has done in the generosity of this church? Hallelujah So just to give you a little bit of an update here. We have received thus far $785,000 in pledges so if you have not pledged yet and you want to Go ahead and get it in because we are not very far at all $215,000 away $215,000 away from our pledge goal of a million Listen every year you guys blow my mind with your generosity. I am a man of faith. We just talked about the gift of faith I have a lot of faith the staff can tell you man when it's time to take territory. I'm like, let's roll But for some reason every year around the big give I'm like, I don't know if that much money Is gonna come in and every year you guys blow my mind with your generosity. So, thank you $785,000 has been pledged and with the matching gift that we are receiving currently that brings us up to $592,000 Given Wow, look at your neighbor say Wow 592,000 that means that we are $108,000 away from goal number two given $108,000 so if anybody wants to write a hundred and eight thousand dollar check this afternoon If you got it like that and the Holy Ghost pulls on your heart, then that'll help us meet goal number two All right, but we're going to get there in Jesus name Amen
Deadline for goal number one was January 1st. We did it better said he did it. Amen and Deadline for goal number two is March the 1st and that's when we're closing on this new property acquisition Over at 904 Gallatin and we're going to prepare to meet the goal number three Which is to receive 1 million dollars, which is going to prepare us for the whole year Moving into our capital campaign raising all the money necessary to build our new campus there.
