Removing Restrictions from God's Flow in Our Life | Jeff Leake
What could be restricting the flow of God's "yes"? Pastor Jeff shares three possible restrictions that we should work to remove.
My name's Jeff, I'm the lead pastor here at Allison Park Church. We wanna welcome anybody joining us online. And also our God Behind Bars campus. Guys, we love you so much, give it up for them today. Yeah. All right, so we have been in a series, this is week two, called House of Healing. We have been talking about this idea that in the New Testament, there are these two locations. Nazareth, where Jesus grew up, where they could, you know, Jesus really did very little miracles there. And then Capernaum, which is a town he based out of, around the Sea of Galilee, where the most amount of recorded miracles take place. And we said, somehow, there is a difference, atmospherically, between those two locations. And so we're saying, we wanna be more of a Capernaum, right? We wanna be a place where we see the power of God in demonstration. And so we've been praying for that for the last couple of months. And we have about 100 people who pray every day to push down whatever's in the way of seeing the flow of healing happen within our midst. And every week, we're hearing stories of answers. So last week, we heard from the north side campus, there was a woman who attended church
for the very first time. She had a bad hip, and was unable to walk properly because of it. One of our leaders laid hands on her and prayed for her. She didn't feel anything in church, but when she got home, she started to walk normally. There was no pain, and so she called, she left a voicemail at the church office, and I listened to the voicemail, and she was like, I can't believe what's happening here. But I'm walking around with no pain. I don't know what you guys did. I gotta talk to the pastor. She was fired up. Okay, so this is what's exciting. These things we're believing for are not just for us. They're for a broken, hurting world out there that needs the touch of God. And so when we say house of healing, we're saying God, not just answer our prayers, but Lord, we pray you'd make us a conduit of that flow in Jesus' name. Okay, now, let's talk about where we started. We said one of the bricks in the wall is the idea that we may not understand the theological basis for why we believe that God can heal us in Jesus' name. And so we gave you three words last week, three theological words. One, the atonement of Jesus, right?
He broke the curse for us on the cross. Two, the covenant inheritance we have that comes with that. And then number three, agreement. So atonement, covenant, agreement. Agreement is when we realize that God has said yes to his promises, we, by prayer, come into agreement with what he's promised us, and it's the synergy of his promise and our agreement and faith that brings the release of answers. So we're gonna start there. The very last verse I read in last week's message was from 2 Corinthians 1, verse 19, and here's what Paul wrote. He said, for the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who is preached among you by us, was not yes and no. So God's not maybe when it comes to his promises. He's a yes God. It wasn't no, but in him it has always been yes. Verse 20, for no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ. Everybody say yes. So they are yes in Christ, and through him, the amen is spoken by us. Amen means I agree. It says yes, Lord, may it be in my life. The amen is spoken by us to the glory of God. So if God has said yes and we are saying amen, but still not seeing result, then why?
What's the problem? That's where we wanna start. Now, first, let me just, again, set expectations. In this message series, I'm not going to solve all of these questions, right? Why are some people and some people are not, and how come I, and all of those questions that are mysteries to us. No one I've ever heard has explained it all, and I'm not gonna come up with those explanations this month, but what we are addressing is what things are in the way, like what may be barriers to seeing the release of his work in our life, and so I wanna give you another barrier. We use the hose as our illustration here, okay? So on one end, we'll say on the heavenly end, we have a yes from God. So we're gonna hook up the hose to the spigot, and God's gonna say yes, and so the spigot is turned on, right? So it's full blast. God said yes, and we got that on this side. Then we're gonna go down to the other side, right? Here on Earth, we're saying amen, right? So we have the end of the hose, and we're ready to release the answers to prayer, and so the spigot's on, yes, and the amen is ready. Come on, we're in prayer, but there's still no answer. What's the problem?
Okay, sometimes in our prayer life, we have one of these, all right? There is a kink in the hose. There's a blockage in the pipeline, and God hasn't said no, and we are saying amen properly in prayer, but something is holding up the flow of what God wants to do in our life, and the Bible actually talks pretty explicitly. about what these things are. And so we want to unpack that together today. And we're gonna use this as our premise now. God's answer is already yes. So our job is to remove whatever's restricting the flow of his provision and grace within our life. So we're gonna call these prayer stoppers, okay? What are the things that slow or stop your prayers from being answered? And this actually applies to more than healing. This applies for whatever God has promised that you've been praying for that hasn't yet come through yet. And so we're gonna ask these questions. What are the things that stop the flow of God's answer to prayer in our life? And we're gonna give you five of them. And we're gonna use this as sort of an inventory together. We'll take communion at the end of the service today and we're gonna go to that, approach that, and we're gonna say, okay, let's address
whatever might be issues within our life. Okay, let's start, okay? Five prayer stoppers. Number one, we'll start with James chapter four. James writes like this, what causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from desires that battle within you? Okay, sometimes we got an issue, we have a desire issue inside. We're wanting things and we're frustrated that we're not getting them. And this can cause dysfunction in relationship. Verse two says, you desire but don't have, so you kill, you covet, but you can't get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You're always wrestling with trying to get your way. And then it says, you don't have because you're not even asking God. Okay, that's one reason why, is we're not even really in the zone where we're asking God for things. We haven't even started praying. But then verse three of chapter four says like this, when you ask, you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives so that you might spend what you get on your pleasures. Okay, what's the first prayer stopper? It's right there in the verse for us. Wrong motives. I can be asking for the wrong things.
My heart is sometimes bent towards something that's outside of what God has promised, okay? Now, it's really important when we talk about this matter of faith that I have been preaching pretty passionately that there's a yes from God, right? The spigot is on and there's a yes from God. We need to qualify. This isn't yes to anything you want, okay? This is not yes to every dream list that you have because some of the things you're asking for, God doesn't give you because it would be bad for you. God's not gonna say yes to everything. What he is gonna say yes to is the things that he's promised you and that's different. Okay, I preached on prayer a number of years ago and I was unpacking some of these concepts and one guy came up to me after the service and he said, Pastor Jeff, I love what you're talking about. I believe God answers prayer. He said, I was just wondering. He said, I go to a particular mall and in the center of the mall, there's this truck that's there that they're raffling off and I put my name and address in there. Is there a prayer you could give me to pray that I could get that truck? And I was like, bro, I wish there was. Like, you know, could you just, you know, offer, is there something you can sprinkle on me?
Like, what can you do here to help me make this happen, right? Okay, now, here's the deal. You can't, God doesn't say yes to every desire you've ever had. He's not gonna fulfill every want that you've ever had. What he is gonna do is he's gonna answer the things that he has willed for your life. And the wants, here's what I said. Pray for that truck, man. Like, okay, God hasn't given you a yes on it, but you can ask him. He's a loving Heavenly Father. Who knows, you may win that raffle, right? You wanna, I love what Mark Batterson's written in the whole book, Circle Maker, right? Circle it. You want that house, circle it in prayer, right? You want that new job, circle it. Yeah, pray for it, ask for it. God will oftentimes give you things that you want because he loves you so much. That's beautiful. Don't stop asking, keep on asking. Like, ask for big things. God's a big God. Can I get an amen from somebody? Yeah, okay, but what he said yes to are the things that are a part of your covenant inheritance. There's some things he's promised to you,
and God has said yes to that. So let's look at another verse. First John says like this. This is the confidence we have in approaching God that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. This makes total sense. If you ask for something God already has chosen to give you, of course he's gonna hear you. And then verse 15, and if we know he hears us, whatever we ask, we know what we have what we ask. So if you ask for something God already willed to you, it's a part of your inheritance, he's already wanted it for you, he's promised it to you, then not only will he hear you, he's gonna answer you. And so the very first thing we've gotta do is we've gotta get ourselves aimed in the right direction. We've gotta be asking for that which God has promised. And some of you are like, well, where in the world do I start to know that? Like how does anybody know the will of God? If you've heard me talk about this, it's pretty clear, it's like this. When you pray the word of God. You pray the will of God Now it has to be a promise that's rightly interpreted scripturally for you But when it's a part of your new covenant inheritance, you pray the Word of God another way to say it You pray the promise of God you pray the purpose of God So when you're claiming something that you know is in the word for you, then you know, it's in the will for you Right, and that's how we get aimed properly and we pray for what God wants for us
Okay, first one is wrong motives. That could be a clog in the pipe Let's go to number two first Peter chapter 3 verse 7 Peter writes this husband's in the same way Be considerate as you live with your wives and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life Read the rest of the verse say with me so that nothing will hinder your prayers Okay as a husband of more than 38 years. I have been convicted by this verse more than once To know that God cares more about how I treat my wife And he cares about answering my prayers Now but we're gonna broaden this beyond husbands and we're gonna say one of the prayer stoppers is the mistreatment of others So if you are being harsh Towards somebody or you've said something that's that's hurtful or you've done something that's hurtful and you're living with it Being offensive does not just affect the people you're hurting it actually affects your own soul why because when you're offensive the Holy Spirit begins to convict you and if you don't Apologize and repair it. It means that you've stopped listening. And here's what happens your your heart becomes a little hardened And so God's trying the yes picket is on the flow is there but it's hitting a hard heart because can I say it like? this you become proud and And and your and your pride you're willing young willies to humble yourself and own what you've done wrong is stopping God from doing what he wants to do through your life and Okay, here's the good news. All this is fixable. All five of these are fixable It's not like now you have a light sentence of unanswered prayer No It means that when God convicts you that you have been hurtful to somebody deal with it And when you deal with it, the flow will start again in your life Let me give you Jesus teaching on this now. Here's what he said Matthew chapter 5 This may be very familiar to you Therefore if you're offering your gift at the altar and remember that your brother or sister has something against you Leave your gift there in front of the altar go be reconciled to them then come offer your gift so as soon as you get reconciled you'll come back and Heaven will be open again, and it'll be an amazing flow in your life So we got to deal with
That issue so we so we're asking God. Is there anybody in my life that I've hurt or offended? I'm gonna come and ask for a major answer to prayer But before I do I just want to make sure that I've taken care of everything. I need to take care of that's That's the question to get ourselves ready for prayer. All right. Okay, that's number two I know I was real direct with that. Are we still friends today? Okay, good. Good. Good. Okay, let's keep going Let's talk about number three. The third thing is and you might be surprised at this one neglect of the poor So God doesn't want to just send things to you He wants to send things through you and it's listen. It's not just about sometimes We think God has said yes, and I'm gonna agree with him. Amen Yes, and we think those are the only two dots to connect but God is not just looking for you to say Yes when you have a need He's actually looking for you to say yes to his heart in general So we can't be selective like God. Yes. I need this answer, but the rest of the stuff you're up to I'm not sure I want to be a part of that. No. No, this is it This is an alignment with God in general and here's the scripture. I told you I'd give you verses for all of this Here's what it says in Proverbs Chapter 21 13 it says this whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry out and not be answered You so if your heart is hard Because you're not sensitive to the needs around you That's a problem for the flow of God in your life Okay, verse 17 of chapter 19 Proverbs whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and He will reward them for what they've done. There's an alignment issue We are saying yes God for me and then use me right in a way you flow through my life So that I can make a difference in the world around me so a lot of us during this month, we're fasting and praying right and Everybody's figuring out how you want to do that in that this season and fasting is is one of the keys I think to seeing breakthrough answers because we're purposely setting aside time
and we're setting aside food, and we're denying our appetites, and we're leaning into what God wants. This doesn't earn anything with God. Okay, this doesn't prove, like, look how spiritual I am. I haven't eaten for lunch, you know, kind of a thing. Like, that's a deal, right? But we feel it, we suffer through it, but part of it is so that we grow intimate with him. But it is, sometimes, we can get real religious about fasting, and we can start to think that somehow I'm proving something or earning something. And in the first covenant era, in the time of the prophet Isaiah, the people had gotten real religious about fasting, and they were thinking by setting aside food and doing these religious disciplines, they were earning something with God. And Isaiah says this to them. Listen to Isaiah's prophecy. Is this not the kind of fasting I've chosen? So, set aside food, but then loosen the chains of injustice, and untie the cords of the yoke, and set the oppressed free, and break every yoke. Is it not to share your food with the hungry, and provide the poor wanderer with shelter, and when you see the naked, to clothe them, and listen, not to turn away from your own family
when they're suffering? And here's what the promise is. If you fast this way, with this kind of heart, so deny yourself food, yes, spend time in prayer, yes, but then do beyond that with the heart of God, then your light will break forth like the dawn, and read the next phrase with me, and your healing will quickly appear. House of healing, this is what we wanna be. Okay, we cannot be a house of healing if all of our requests are about us. Right, it has to go beyond that. And so, then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Then you will call on the Lord. Put that verse up there, let's read this one together. Then you will call on the Lord, and the Lord will answer. You will cry for help, and he will say, here I am. Yeah, okay, so this is why it's good that we're a kingdom builder church, isn't it? Like, we're giving, and we're going, and we're serving in places where we're trying to make a difference, because house of healing can't just be about answers. The prayer has to be, God, we want your heart, and we wanna be used by you, and we're saying yes to what you wanna do within our life. All right, let's slow down for a moment. Let's just reflect now. This message is designed for you
to be something you would walk through in your own heart. So, if you need a miracle in your life today, or someone in your family does, and you're asking for big answers to prayer this year, by the way, isn't it inspiring to see the miracle wall? Have you walked by that? There's a whole lot of need up there that we're praying for, okay? Here's how I would approach this. If I was hearing this, this is what I'm hoping you'll do. I'll go through it and say, God, okay, am I asking for the right things? Do I have wrong motives in this? Am I aligned with your promise, number one? Number two, God, am I mistreating anybody? Have I offended somebody? God, remind me if I've spoken out of turn, or if I've said something or done something. Help me correct that, God. Lord, am I doing enough? Am I aware of the needs around me? Lord, is there some way that I could go out of my way to serve or give something more than what I'm doing today? Because now I'm trying to align with God. Okay, let's go to number four. Here's the fourth prayer stopper, and that's this one, stubborn, willful sin, okay? You probably expected this one earlier in the message, but here we are, we got this one now. Saying no to God in one area makes it almost impossible
to say amen to him in another. Let's just, let's clarify. Leave that on the screen for a moment, guys. All right, this is not saying if you're struggling with sin. I want you to understand the difference between the two. Someone who is struggling with temptation and keeps falling, but comes back every time. God, please, I wanna be free. I don't wanna live like this, God. I know it's hard. I've been trying to break this habit. Lord, would you please give me grace? Okay, that's not a no. That's a please help me, okay? Contrition, where your heart's broken over your condition. That's something that draws grace. It doesn't repel grace, right? So if you're struggling, I don't want you to hear me say you are struggling in sin. Your prayers will never be answered. No, no, no, no, I didn't say that. That is not what this says. This says stubborn, willful, and I'll add another word, stupid sin, okay? This is where you're like, you're just stupid about it. Like, I know I shouldn't be doing this. I'm gonna do it anyway. Like, I know this is not what God wants, but I'm gonna stay with it because everybody has their pet sin
and this happens to be mine. I'm just gonna hold on. God, just have to deal with it, right? Here's what it says in Psalms chapter 66. It says like this, if I had cherished sin, this is what it is, right? Stubborn, stupid sin. Cherishing it, petting it, taking care of it, protecting it, holding on to it. The Lord then would not have listened. Okay, so here's the deal. Sometimes when we talk about this radical faith, yes. Yes, God's turned the faucets on. Amen, he's gonna answer. We can start to approach God like he's a vending machine. Like here I am, I'm pressing the buttons. Amen, amen, may it be. Here's the deal. This is not just get what you want from God day, okay? This is alignment with God. So if you're like, yes, God, I need a miracle, but no here, no here, no here, no here, no here. No, God, no, I'm not gonna do what you want me to do. I'm not gonna obey you. I'm actually just gonna do my own thing. But yes, and amen, may you answer my prayer. Can you see how inconsistent that is? This is, listen, we are, this is not some mystical formula we're doing to get God somehow to step in. No, no, we're partnering with the God of the universe.
He's personal, he's chosen you, he loves you, he wants to work through you. But you have to say yes all the way through. If you gotta know when you're somewhere, it's gonna clog the pipe. So what do we do? This is fixable. God's not asking you to pay for your own sin or to prove you're serious about it. He just wants you to say, all right, Lord, every area of my life, I give it to you. Even this thing I've been unwilling to surrender, it's yours, Lord. I say yes to everything you want from me. And yes on the end here too, I need an answer, right? In Jesus' name. Yeah, that was a good place to say amen. Thank you for someone over there. All right, good, that's good. Okay, let's go to number five, fifth reason. So we said wrong motives, mistreatment of others, neglect for the poor, willful sin that we are staying in, right? And then number five is bitterness. When you've been offended and you have to deal with it, to cope with it, held it inside, and it's become infected. And we have this infection of resentment inside that stops the flow of what God wants to do. I don't have this verse on the screen.
I'll just quote it for you. Hebrews 12 says, see to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up in you to cause trouble and defile many. So the grace of God's flowing, but you can miss it if bitterness grows in your heart. I'll give you another verse. Now, this is Jesus' teaching. Here's what he says in Mark chapter 11. Jesus now talking. These are some of the verses we quote when we get into radical faith, right? Have faith in God, Jesus answered. Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in their heart, but believes that what they see will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, the amens that you're asking, what God has said yes to, and you're saying amen, and you believe that you will receive it, it will be yours. Can I get an amen from somebody, right? Isn't that beautiful? And then there's a P.S. P.S., Jesus says, and when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them so that your Father in heaven might forgive your sin. He tags it at the end. Oh, by the way, he says, this whole faith thing
will all get kind of clogged up if you're holding offense towards somebody, right? Why, because the faucets are turned on, mercy's flowing in your direction, but when your heart gets hardened through bitterness, it stops the flow. Okay, now we need to really slow this one down. I want you to hear me if you've been offended. I am not saying this is just easy, just simple, and forgive somebody, because I know many of you have walked through some horrific things, maybe years of abuse, or maybe you've gone through a lot of trauma due to things that have happened in recent times, maybe somebody's been at you and attacking you, and you have, listen, justifiable reason to be resentful for what's happened to you. Like, everything you feel is justified that you feel that. I am not saying you shouldn't feel it, okay? Do you just hear me say, I'm not saying that it's not right that you feel, and let's just face it, the person you're gonna forgive, they probably don't deserve to be forgiven. But what's happened is, and this is an issue I've had to work through, you know my story, right? If you don't take that pain you've encountered and turn it over to God, you stay stuck in it. Like, the things that happen to you are not just a pain for you, they become a prison for you, because you can't ever get past it,
and that person who's said or done whatever has just pinned you down because that hurt inside just radiates and it's just there all the time. And this really, this moment of forgiving is not so much about your offender, it's about your heart and soul, where you say, all right, God, this hurts so bad. but I don't wanna carry it like this anymore. My heart's become infected with all this stuff and so I'm just gonna turn this over to you, God, and I'm gonna say, Lord, take this hurt inside of me and I forgive my offender. I know they don't deserve it, but Lord, I choose it anyway because that's the only way to get it out of my heart and into your hands. I release this to you, God. I put it in your hands. I trust you with it. God, I just am open to you now for you to heal my heart. Here's my experience. The moment you take that pain and you surrender it to God, grace starts flowing into your soul. It's almost an immediate sensation, like whew, healing. It hasn't been hitting you in that space because you've been holding on and holding on and holding on, and in order to get healed inside, you gotta take that pain and give it to God, okay? So that starts the flow and it hits your heart for healing in that area, but then the flow can happen in others.
So let's just be practical now. There are three people that you potentially could be mad at right now, resentful toward, okay? Let's go through them. Some of you are like, I already know them. You don't have to tell me this. Like, I can give you the list and everything they did, right, okay, yeah, that's one category. It's people who said stuff and done stuff and maybe keep on doing it, okay? That's one category. Second category is you might not be mad at people. You might be mad at God. Maybe you thought, I don't know why God let this happen or why God hasn't, you know, made certain things happen in my life. And so you've been carrying this and you feel all tight when you think about praying because it's not that God's done anything wrong, but it's that we're not sure we're ready to trust him. And so we have to say, all right, God, I don't understand all this, but I still believe you're good and I trust you with this situation, okay? That opens our heart up for the flow of grace. There's a third category. And this one I think is the most often. It's the hidden form of bitterness. And this is the fact that you're bitter at yourself and your heart's become all infected
because you loathe what you allowed to happen or what you did or some people just, they just don't like themselves. Like they've heard something and they took it and they came into agreement with it and they just don't like who they are. And so they're like, I, you know, I don't even know why I pray anymore because I'm just too damaged. And they almost feel a certain comfort in the punishment of it. Like, cause I'm just, yeah, all right. How do you get free from that? Okay, in some way you have to decide to come into agreement with God's yes in your life. Cause God doesn't feel that way about you. He looks at you and he's chosen you. And he said yes to you. And when he looks at you, he's chosen to adopt you into his family and he has things planned for you. And you are rejecting all that because somehow you've gotten this thing against yourself. And maybe you did fail, but God's saying, I forgive you. I sent Jesus on the cross to die for you. He rose from the grave for you and I'm choosing you. And I wanna work in your life. And now you have to come into agreement with his yes on you. You have to say, God, if you've chosen me,
all right, I'm gonna let you do that. And if you love me, okay, I must be worthy of it. Like, if you wanna work in my life, okay, God, do that. I'm no longer gonna pin myself down to what I used to be because I believe you have something more planned for my life. And when we come into agreement with God and we let ourself off the mat, we forgive ourselves, we should say that we agree with God's forgiveness in our life, grace starts to flow into that space. So let's get ourselves ready, right? There's a flow of healing in this place, but there's a wall in the way. Let's get rid of those walls, right? Let's do that together. So can we just turn our face toward heaven and let's pray for a moment. So God, we now want to do some inventory and some decision-making to take whatever we sense about what's happening in our soul and turn it over to you. And Lord, we believe that all of this is fixable, that your grace is able to flow into our hearts and restore us and heal us so that we can see the flow of God released in our life. So have your way in us. Now, we're getting ready to take communion together and we're gonna have a moment of dedication. We're gonna just surrender ourselves to Jesus in this moment.
And if you have never prayed to give your life to Christ or you find yourself away from God today and wanna come back to him, why don't you join with the congregation as we pray this? So put your hands out in front of you right now and let's say this confession before Jesus. I'll lead you. So say this, thank you, God, that you have said yes to my life. Thank you, Jesus, that you died. on the cross to make that yes real and final and I say amen. Do what you want to do in my life. I ask you to forgive my sin through your death on the cross. I turn from my old ways and I surrender to you. I ask you to connect me again with God and to cause my soul to be open for the flow of your grace and your life inside. I trust you now in Jesus name. Amen, amen. That's awesome. All right, let's get ourselves ready. Yeah, you can, that's a good step guys. I'm proud of you. So the team is going to distribute the containers that have the communion elements. You just grab hold of that. Just hold on to it because I'll give you some prayer direction before we eat and drink the elements today. This is for all of those who have decided to be a follower of Jesus and are interested in living for him with their life. So if you just prayed that, you're welcome to join us. If you're not sure about that, you're still in the process of investigation, we're glad you're here. You can just let the container pass you and pray with us on other issues, but yeah, we're going to get ourselves ready. Team's going to lead us. I'll be back in a moment. If you're able to, would you stand up to your feet? Let's sing together. Let's sing that again. Let's sing that again. Let's sing that again. Let's sing that again. Let's sing that again.
Let's sing that again. Let's sing that again. Yeah, man, that's the basis for why we believe there can be a flow in our lives today. Before we take communion, let me just reflect on a couple of things about, you know, when I preach a message like this, when I'm preparing, I have this concern inside. Here's the concern that, you know, you hear somebody say, here's five things that could be wrong with you, right? That's kind of heavy. And some people will interpret that as a word of condemnation or defeat. Like some of you are wired almost that way to say, yeah, I'm messed up. I'm never going to be any different. I don't even know why I ask anymore. Let me just say, this was not the spirit of that message. The faucet is on. The yes of God, listen, the yes never goes away. The yes of God is not performance oriented. So you got to kink and in the pipe, right? There's a problem, there's a clog there. Okay, so what do we do? All of it's fixable, guys, right? And this doesn't require years of work, weeks of penance, a lot of religious activity. It's a moment of surrender. I don't know if you've ever had this happen. I have at least once, where someone was around the corner and they had the spigot on and it wasn't flowing. I had the other end and then they were, you know, unpacking it and I went like, maybe they're stuck in here, you know, right? Okay, so that's how it works, guys. If you unlock it right now, right now the flow will come. You know, it's not gonna be later. The flow of God's grace will start right away in your life. And just be reminded, we have the bread which reminds us of the fact that it's only Jesus
that makes us right with God. You can't earn this. Like, you can't work for it. You either receive it as a gift or you don't, but we do that by faith and surrender. So let's just do that. Jesus, we now come before you and we thank you for what we just sang. You paid it all. You did everything that's necessary. So if there's something in our lives that isn't aligned with you, we surrender it to you now. And just like when you died on the cross, you broke the curse over us so that we today could be free of things and you have made life available to us that will never die. So Lord, we receive that now as we take the bread. In Jesus' name, let's receive it together today. Yeah. Amen. Let's sing again. Oh, praise the one. ♪ And raise this life up from the dead ♪ ♪ Oh, praise the one who paid my debt ♪ ♪ And raise this life up from the dead ♪ ♪ Oh, praise the one who paid my debt ♪ ♪ And raise this life up from the dead ♪ ♪ Oh, praise the one who paid my debt ♪ ♪ And raise this life up from the dead ♪ Yeah, all right.
Jesus said, this is the new covenant in my blood. Do this whenever you drink it in remembrance of me. Let's just lift this up. We claim now and come into agreement with your covenant promises. And as a corporate body, we all agree, amen. May this be a house of healing now. May the atonement you made on the cross and the covenant that you ratified become the reality in this place. And may we see an outbreak of your supernatural power. We agree together in Jesus' name. Let's take the cup now in faith. Amen. All right, can we have our prayer leaders come to the front? And as we're gonna do, especially all throughout this month, we're here to pray for you. So if you want prayer for healing, that's one thing. If you want help maybe forgiving somebody, they can help you with that too. Or whatever you'd like prayer for, we're here to pray for you today. Next week, guys, we're gonna talk about what to do when you're praying and it hasn't happened right away. Dealing with the delays and how we posture ourselves during those moments, okay? And then the final week, we have Yohannes Amartur with us.
Gonna be a great next two weeks together. So let me just pray over you. I pray now that your life would have an open flow of the grace of God into your soul and through your life. I pray that you would experience peace because of that. Healing on the inside because of that. Joy and an intimate connection with heaven. And that you would walk with the full confidence that you and God are connected today. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. God bless, guys, have an awesome day. We're here to pray for you.
