Today on power in the word when you think you're being prevailed you're really being purified When you learn to let him overcome for you, you'll walk in victory in your mindset and your defense mechanisms are starting to fall down Why because your self-esteem won't let you be who you are because your self-esteem says you're the old dude and the spirit says you're the New dude, and so you're wrestling with the old dude and the new dude and you call it double Schizophrenic, but God don't have schizophrenia. He made us a new creation We just ain't established in our hearts yet. Listen, listen to me until you discover who you are. You're never going to discover where you're at Welcome to power in the word One of the big problems in Christianity today is the inability of believers to differentiate between body mind and spirit Well today dr. Norris shows us in the Word of God that we are eternal spirits living in an earthly body and mind It's a powerful message. So you stay with us and be encouraged The biggest battle in the body of Christ is between your ears And and so we're going to understand why you're going through that and why you're dealing with that soulish man Because that soulish man is the one that gives us the most trouble, correct? Even then you don't want it to give you trouble. It's gonna give you trouble, right? So go to John 10 and 10 and we're going to get started The thief does not come except to steal kill and destroy. I come I've come that you might have life underline that word life And that word life there is not the word Suki is Zoe It's Zoe Zoe life. In other words. It's the life of God, right? That they may have it more abundantly now Jesus said he didn't come to give you anything but Zoe life and he Come to give you to me more abundantly Now all of us believe that he come and he just give us eternal life and that's what he did And that's a wonderful thing, but that's not what he come to do. Also. He also come to do some other things Let's go to verse 11. I am the Good Shepherd and the Good Shepherd gives his now this word life is not Zoe is Suki Talking about your mind your will and emotions. He said I'm a Good Shepherd and I and the Good Shepherd gives his life his Suki For the sheep now watch he changed immediately from talking about your spirit man to talking about your soulish man And so he said the Good Shepherd come to give his Suki For the sheep. So wait a minute now. Did Jesus come to die for us spiritually or he come to die for us?

soulishly Let's go to verse 15 and the father knows me even as I know my father and I laid down my Suki for the sheep. He says I'm coming to earth to lay down my mind my will and emotions I'm coming to earth to give you Zoe life and give you Zoe life more abundantly But before I can do that, I've got to lay down my Suki. I've got to lay down my mind my will and emotions You with me now the first thing he said is I come that you might have life and have life more abundantly and Then he comes and says I'm gonna lay down my Suki for you, though. I'm not gonna lay down My spirit life. I'm gonna lay down my soul is life for you You said why did you do that? We're gonna find out Go to verse 17 and 18 therefore my father loves me because I lay down my That I may take it again. Now watch this. He's gonna lay down his what? Okay, look at verse 18 No one takes it from me. I will lay it down myself. I have power to lay down my life I have power to take it up again this command. I've received from my father He says so I'm gonna lay down my life for you, but I'm gonna take it back up Are you with me? Now now think about it just a minute before you before you say anything what's going on here? He said I've got a command from the father that I'm gonna lay down my life and I'm gonna take it back up What's he gonna lay down? His Suki life And he's gonna take it back up because that's a command from the father now go to John 19 and 30 stay with me now, so Jesus when they received the sour wine, he said it is and And bowing his head he gave up his spirit now you got to understand something here's Jesus on the cross He looks up and he receives a sour wine and he turns and he said it's finished and He bowing his head. He gave up his what? his spirit his spirit His spirit now you got to understand something Jesus could not have died on the cross until his spirit had left his body

So here's what he was saying. He said I'm gonna lay down my Suki. They gonna put it in the ground But I have a command from the father That the Holy Spirit's gonna come back and raise up this Suki. That's died here for you Or are you hearing me? So in the third? their day the spirit is going to come back and resurrect this suki that's died for you. So I'm going to die the mind, will, and emotions and then I have a command from the Father that after three days he's going to come back with the Holy Spirit and raise up my suki. And then the Bible said bowing his head the word bowing in the Greek is the word kline, k-l-i-n-e and it means to allow his head to rest in his finished work. So his head can rest now because he's given up his spirit so he said it's finished he gave up his spirit and the Bible said he bowed his head and gave up his spirit, right? The moment that he let his body surrender and gave up the ghost he was put in the ground. The spirit that he had a command from the Father that was going to raise it up again he said I have the power to lay it down my suki but I also have the power to raise it up because I've got a command from the Father to raise it up. Now watch this go with me to Isaiah 53 verse 10. I'm going to prove this to you tonight. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him. He has put him to grief. Now watch this. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him.

Look at somebody say bruise him. And he has put him to grief. Now you can't have grief in your spirit. You can only have grief in your soulish man, in your suki. When you make his soul an offering for that word sin there is not a verb. It's a noun. It's talking about a person, place or thing. It's not talking about action. It's not talking about smoking, drinking, doing drugs. He didn't lay down his life for your smoking, drinking, doing drugs. He laid down his suki so that your spirit man could be resurrected because once you've got to understand something in the garden Adam lost what? He lost his suki. Why? Because he recognized once he lost his suki and laid down his self-life and lost his self-life and didn't surrender to the spirit man anymore immediately he lost his suki. Now he put on a garment to hide what he would have been doing wrong. Now stay with me. So he hid himself and the Lord said where are you at? And he said I'm naked. He said who told you? See once he lost his suki, his mind, will and emotions, immediately he knew he was naked then. Because the word naked means to be transparent. So he saw himself

and I'm not talking about saw himself, he saw himself. The self-life which was the suki, before that he only saw the spirit man. And so Jesus had to come back and bring back what Adam had lost with his suki. So Jesus had to die on his suki so that the spirit could come back and resurrect him three days later. So the power to lay it down was also the power to take it up. And he took it up, why? Because he gave us life and life more abundantly. So he sent the spirit back that mean you'd have life and life more abundantly. That no longer our suki would dominate our lives but our spirit would dominate us. Nobody under the old covenant had the spirit of God living in them. The Holy Spirit would come upon them but it never lived in them. Now watch this. You make his soul an offering for sin. He shall see his seed. He shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper, where at? In his hand. Now look at verse 11. And he shall see the labor of his what? Suki. Now the words, now listen to me a minute. In the actual Hebrew the word is nymphlesh. N-E-P-H-E-S-H. But in the Greek it's suki. But in the actual Hebrew it's nymphlesh. So he shall see the labor of his what? His mind, will and emotions and be satisfied. By his knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many for he shall bear their what? He shall bear their what? Iniquities always deals with the soul of a man. Remember Isaiah 53 and 53, 4 and 5? He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities.

The test has no peace upon him and with his stripes ye were healed. So he spiritually, soulishly and physically he died on all three. But he died first soulishly so you and I could be delivered from what Adam lost and obtained in the garden. You good? Now look at verse 12. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great and he shall divide the spoil with the strong because he poured out his what? His suki unto what? Now you got to understand something here. This word is deaths in the actual text. It's multiple, more than one death. But he poured out his nymphesh or suki unto death and he was numbered with the transgressors and he bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors. So he poured out his soul unto what? Death. See that? Now, go me to John 1, verse 29. The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him, and he said, Behold, the Lamb of God who's going to take away the what? That word sin is not a verb. So he's talking about the sin nature. He's not talking about smoking, drinking, doing drugs. Jesus don't want you smoking, drinking, doing drugs. He don't smoke, drink, and do drugs. He removed the sin nature. Now, you got to understand something. How many of you know that Jesus never sinned? So what became a sin offering for sin?

His soulish man. Did he sin? No, he didn't. He was made an offering for sin. The Lamb in the Old Testament did not die because of sin that the Lamb had. He died because of mine and your sin. Neither did the Lamb die in the New Testament because of the sin he had. He died for mine and your sin. So because of that, John said, Behold, the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin. Now, the word taketh is the word areo in the actual Greek, and it means to resurrect out of. In other words, the Lamb of God was going to be buried, and he was going to come out for the sin of the whole world. He didn't just die for the church. Go meet Isaiah 53, verse 4 and 5. Surely he bore our griefs. Griefs deals with what? And carried our what? Yet he did esteem him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. Verse 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquity. The chastisement of peace was upon him, and with his stripes you were what? What's he talking about? What was bruised? The iniquities. He was bruised for our iniquities. For what? Our bruised, bruised, bruised, bruised, bruised. Talking about your sorrow and your pain

and your struggles up here mentally. So Adam lost his mind in the garden, and Jesus had to come back to get his mind back. But he knew he had to die a physical death so that you and I could be redeemed, and he also had to die a spiritual death. That was the turmoil that he went through the night before in the garden of Gethsemane. Now, let's go to Psalms 103. Bless the Lord, O my Suki, or nymph-flesh, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Verse 2. Bless the Lord, O my nymph-flesh, who forget not all his benefits. Verse 3. Who forgiveth all thy what? What's iniquities deal with? The soul of a man. What did one and two deal with? The soul of a man, the nymph-flesh of a man, the Suki of a man. So what was he saying? He said he'd forgive us of all of our iniquities and he healed us of all of our diseases. Why? Because 90% of your battles is right here. So the thing Jesus had to overcome was his Lord. Now, I want to show you something very powerful, and I want you to listen to me very good. Go to Leviticus 17 and 11. The life of the flesh is in the blood.

Now, the word life here, listen to me, it's the word soul. It is not spirit. It is not Zoe. It's nymph-flesh or Suki. So the life of the flesh is in the blood. I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your what? For it is the blood that makes the atonement for the talking about the mind here. So the Levitical priesthood prophesied that he's got to come first and make an atonement for the soul because that's the part Adam lost. Now, watch this very carefully. Pneuma or pneumatic or pneumarchos which deals with the spirit of a man. Now, how many of you know what pneumatic means? Pneumatic means it's wind-driven, right? That's what the spirit is, right? Because the word spirit can be wind or it can be spirit. Same thing. Watch this. I want you to see this. Suki is talking about the soul or the sephmoth. He had... Listen to me. He laid down his suki life because he was what Adam took up in the Garden of Eden. But when Adam chose the suki life,

he lost the zoe life. He brought back to mankind the zoe life. He had to give up his suki that you and I might have zoe life. So think about it a minute. The real you... Listen to me very carefully. The life of you is in your mind. Because if somebody's on a machine and they're brain-dead, their brains don't have any activity. So once your brain is not functioning, you're brain-dead, correct? And when they disconnect the machine, you die even though your heart's still pumping. Are you with me? But your spirit ain't feeling any of that. You're a spirit. You possess a soul and you live in a body. That's why 1 Thessalonians 5.23 he said, I want you to preserve your whole spirit, your whole soul and your whole body until the coming of the Lord. Preserve it blamelessly until the coming of the Lord. The biggest battle in your life, and listen to me, you will never walk in victory until you preserve your spirit. you overcome your head. Until you understand what's coming against your head, you'll fight all kinds of demons and all kinds of darkness and all kinds of the power of wickedness, and you'll call it

Jesus and the devil. Let's go to Matthew chapter 20. Just as a son of man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his tzuki as a ransom for the many. Remember in Isaiah 53, 10, 11, and 12, where he said he's going to be righteous and be a ransom and he's going to justify many. He gave his what? Tzuki. Guys, do you understand what he dealt with? Do you understand what he went through? Do you understand why you're dealing with yours? Because you haven't learned to live in that abundant life. The abundant life lets the spirit lead instead of the emotions and the mind of willing emotions leading. Your thought process is destroying you. We're calling ourselves believers, and we're speaking a whole different language. See, you can parakeet speak all you want to, but at the end of the day, everybody hears what you say, but 90% of people don't know what you're thinking. And that's the dominating factor in your life. Not what you say, but what you're thinking. Bible says in Proverbs 23, 7, whatever said man thinketh in his heart, that's exactly what that man is. Now go to 1 John 3 and 16. By this we know, and by this we know love, because he laid down his Tzuki for us, and we ought to also lay down our Tzuki for the brethren. Oh Lord. Oh, they said something, I didn't like what they said to me. Get over it. Lay down your old Tzuki for the brethren, right?

He said, we know because we laid down his life for us, we ought to lay down our life for one another. Think about it. Where does most of your opposition come from, from what people say? Because you've got that fence up, you've got that shield up, you've got that window up, you've got that, don't break this shield. It's kind of, you ever seen the Robert Conrad commercial? He puts a batter on his, I dare you to knock it off, so I can get mad. Knock it off, please knock it off, because I want to get mad. Think about it. We ought to lay down our lives, our Tzukis, our mind, our will and emotions. You should not be driven by your emotions. You ought to drive your emotions. God never intended for you to live out of your Tzuki. He intended for you to live out of your spirit. That's what the life of the spirit is, right? Let's go to John 15 and 13. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down one's life for his... Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down one's life for his friends. There's the word Tzuki again. Guys, you've got to understand that it's still going on. And we've got to understand that until we take control of it, we're never going to walk in victory. Now I want to show you something. The life of the flesh is in the blood, according to Leviticus 17, 11. The soulish life is in the blood, and it was his blood that was poured out for our souls, right? For our souls. He poured out his blood for our souls, right? If your soul is not alive, then your brain dead.

We all agree with that, right? The spirit is alive to the soul, but the soul is the real life of you. Now listen to me again. The spirit is alive to your soul, but your soul is the real life to you. Listen to me. We're dominated by what we think. We're dominated by what we feel. We're dominated by what we touch. We're dominated by our five senses. Listen, what you're dealing with should mean absolutely nothing to you. What I'm dealing with ought to mean the world to you. What he's dealing with should mean the world to you. What he's dealing with shouldn't mean anything to him. You got to put down the walls of why you are like you are. That's just the way I am. Now you're a new creation. Old things have passed away and everything's become new to you now. But pastor, you didn't grow up like I grew up. That old man that you grew up in died. And you're a new creature and old things have passed away, right? So what you grew up to be, you ain't that no more, unless you're willing to stay there because he said, I've made you a new creation. Oh, pastor, you don't understand. You just can't walk away from it. No, you can't walk away, but you can get away from it because you can change the way you think by feeding yourself with the Word until you overdose. And I ain't ever heard of anybody dying from an overdose of the Word, right? So think about it. So Jesus gave his sukkah. Now, we're going to go on here.

Let's go on because I want you to get this. Go with me to Matthew 26. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and he began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Who's he talking about? Jesus. So Jesus was sorrowful and deeply depressed, deeply distressed. This is Jesus, right? He was sorrowful and deeply distressed. Where do you think that was at? In his Psuchia, in his soulish man. Now look at 38. And he said to them, my soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me a little while. My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death, guys. He said, man, I'm going through hell in my mind. This is Jesus talking. I'm going through hell right here. I don't know how to die. He told me if this cup can pass from me, let this cup pass from me. He didn't know how to die because he was all life. He didn't know how to give this thing up and think like everybody else was thinking and be like everybody was. He said, I'm going through Timor-Lee hell. If you go and read the scripture, the Bible said blood poured out of his corpuscles of his mind, of his head, because he was in such distress. How many times have you been in that stress? The Bible said literally blood dropped from him because he was so distressed. He's telling, he's speaking. This would be negative talking in the church. And he said to them, my soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death, guys. Stay here and just watch with me. You ain't got to pray with me. Just watch and make sure I'm going to be all right. Now, I know y'all don't think Jesus said that, but that's red. Here's this man knowing he's got to go to death, and he's going to death mentally for me and you.

And so here's Jesus in the garden against him, and he's going through the wine press, and he's feeling things from every direction because he don't know how to die. And you're sitting around worried about your little problem. You need to get concerned when God tells you to die for me. Now, think about it a minute. But he's going there, battling his mind for me and you. See, you're battling your mind to keep it. He was battling his mind to lose it. See, the only way you're going to get to victory is lose your mind. That ain't what the church wants to hear. Because to renew it, you got to remove it. And so Jesus said, for me to be able to go to that cross, I got to die soulishly first. I'm sorrow, man. I'm going through some stuff. I'm sorrow exceedingly even to death, man. Stay here with me and just watch with me a little bit. The very ones he was going to deliver couldn't sit and watch with him. And then he goes on to tell him, he said, man, I know your spirit's willing, but your flesh is weak, ain't it, bro? Now, think about it a minute. Let's go to John 12 and 27. Now my soul's troubled, and what shall I say, Father? Save me from this hour, but for this purpose, for this purpose, I came to this hour. You didn't read that. But for this purpose, I came for this hour. What did he say in John 10, the last part? I come that you might have life and have it more abundant. I came for this time. In other words, but for this purpose, that's the only reason I came. Father, save me from this hour. What did he mean? Because he knew he had to go there. So what did he mean, save me? Here's what he was saying. The actual word save is so that it means preserve. In other words, my soul's troubled, and what shall I say, Father? Save me from this hour, but for this purpose, this is the only reason I came to this hour. See, you don't understand that your hours are important. When you think you're being travailed, you're really being purified. When you think you're going under, you're really going over.

When you think that you're, I don't want this battle anymore, Lord, take it, what's he going to do with it? Because you're not going to become gold, and you're going to not overcome unless you've been tested in the arena where you can't overcome by yourself. When you learn to let him overcome for you, you'll walk in victory in your mindset. And your defense mechanisms will start to fall down. Why? Because your self-esteem won't let you be who you are, because your self-esteem says you're the old dude, and the Spirit says you're the new dude. And so you're wrestling with the old dude and the new dude, and you call it double schizophrenic, but God don't have schizophrenia. He made us a new creation, we just ain't established in our hearts yet. Listen, listen to me. Until you discover who you are, you're never going to discover where you're at. It ain't about going to heaven or hell. It's about life and death. And he come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. But you can't have the more abundant life until you can overcome the head. Your head's your dominating force. Listen, you'll never rise above your most dominant thought. So whatsoever man thinketh, remember? Be ye not conformed to this world, be ye transformed by the doing of your mind. 1 Corinthians 2 and 16, you got the mind of Christ. Right? Right? What's your mind look like? Bring it under. Why? He died for it. He died for your mind. You're walking way less than what your mind designed to be. Go to 1 Timothy 1, chapter 3, verse 16. Without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh. How many of you believe that? He was justified in the Spirit. In other words, He was recreated or called justified. So for Him to be justified and declared righteous, at some point in time He had to become unrighteous. 2 Corinthians 5.21, Him who knew no sin became sin, that you might become the righteousness of God. Isn't that a beautiful picture? Now watch this. Seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up in the glory.

So He was justified in the Spirit. So we understand He died spiritually, soullessly, and physically. Right? And the Bible said that you need to be saved in the mind, the soulless realm. The engrafted Word which is able to save your soul, your psyche. The engrafted Word. Engrafted Word. En in that prefix means a fixed position. Photos, which is the end of that word, means to have a place in Him. In other words, a fixed position in Him to establish a new creation of who you are. See, you are a new creation, but your mind ain't determined it yet. See, you're living the high life, but your mind don't know you are. So your mind will limit your ability to rise up. Your level of elevation will only be established upon your mindset to think it. What you can't think, you'll never live in, even though your spirit's recreated and born again and operating in a dimension way below, way above the design of your physical body. God never intended you to be a physical man. He intended for you to be a spiritual man and rise above your physical body. So the place that you're living in is determined by the place that you dwell here, because the Bible said in Revelation chapter 2 that the seed of Satan is your soul man. 90% of what you think it ain't right. If it ain't his thought, it ain't right thought. See, we're some kind of something, but we haven't discovered it's some kind of something. So we live way below our destiny. Come on, somebody, get up! Really, rise up and be who you are, because inside of you is a power source. He said, I'll do it singly above all you can ask or think according to the power that's working inside of you. Listen, there's something inside of you that's bigger than what's on the outside. Stop giving in. Stop quitting. Stop giving up. And rise up and speak who you are, and walk who you are, and speak who you are, and live who you are, and do exactly what he's called you to do. Stop walking away, but, oh, I just don't know what's going to happen. I know exactly what's going to happen, whatever you determine to happen. Greater is he that's in you than he that's in the world. No weapon formed against you can prosper. He's made you accepted and a beloved, man. You're chosen before the foundation of the world. You're chosen, chosen, chosen, chosen, predestined for such a time as this.

Man, I wouldn't get saved either around some of you, because you look like you've been run over. Amen, you ought to be happy. Well, I got some problems. Your problems ain't bigger than your God. Think about it. That Word is able to separate our soul from our spirit. See, you're sitting around dealing with nitpicky stuff that's this deep, and you ought to be walking on the water and wondering how things are going to turn out. You ought to know how they're going to turn out. Because things that you're saying, well, I know. I've got so many issues. You ain't got no issues. You got a knowledge problem.
