Zion Church | Keep Going Pt. 6 | Senior Pastor Keith Battle

Summary

Acts 14 is the story of people who refuse to quit. As opposition intensifies, Paul and Barnabas keep preaching, proving that when persecution rises, God's grace rises with it, and when it's time to move on, wisdom recognizes that survival is stewardship—not surrender. In Lystra, the spotlight falls on a man crippled from birth whose greatest miracle begins long before he walks: he is sitting and listening to the Word. While his feet are powerless, his faith is alive, reminding us that what we consistently hear shapes what we are prepared to receive. Paul sees faith where others only see limitation, and one command—"Stand up!"—meets one believing heart, releasing a miracle that exceeds every expectation. The man's lifelong condition becomes a picture of humanity's spiritual condition: born unable to walk rightly until Jesus transforms us by His grace.

This passage reminds us that perseverance doesn't earn God's power, but it positions us beneath His Word until His power is revealed. The invitation is clear: stay present, keep listening, keep believing, and keep going even when the journey is difficult. You never know when the next moment of faithful obedience will become the place where God tells you to stand—and you discover you can.
