Zion Church | Keep Going Pt. 4 | Senior Pastor Keith Battle

Summary

In Part 4 of *Keep Going*, Pastor Keith Battle teaches that spiritual growth depends on continuing to follow Jesus as Lord, not merely accepting Him as Savior. Drawing from Colossians 2:6–7, he explains that the Christian life is never neutral. We are either moving forward in Christ or drifting backward under the influence of the world, the flesh, and the enemy.

The cross reminds us that Jesus paid the debt for our sins, while the throne reminds us that He deserves our daily surrender and obedience. Pastor Battle challenges believers to examine who is truly ruling their lives, emphasizing that self often competes for the throne that belongs to Christ alone. He points out that lordship is revealed through everyday decisions, attitudes, and responses, especially in moments when obedience requires restraint or sacrifice.

The message also exposes how idolatry can take subtle forms, including comfort, success, possessions, relationships, and personal ambitions. Using Scripture, Pastor Battle warns that it is possible to worship God while simultaneously giving our devotion to competing priorities. He calls believers to identify anything sharing God's place in their hearts and to remove those rivals. Ultimately, the message is a call to dethrone self, re-enthrone Jesus, and keep moving forward in a faith that is deeply rooted, growing stronger, and overflowing with gratitude.
