Jesús Lo Cambia Todo

Amen, amen, amen, Jesus lo cambia todo, esa es nuestra nueva serie que arrancamos el día de hoy. Algún cristiano trajo su biblia a la iglesia, me gusta ver cristianos armados con la palabra. Pueden abrir a Colossenses 1. Esta serie de Jesús lo cambia todo está basada en el libro de Colossenses, así que estaremos prácticamente leyendo y atravesando el libro de Colossenses durante las próximas cuatro semanas y bueno, quiero arrancar comentándoles una historia curiosa de algo que me sucedió cuando yo estaba en middle school, cuando yo estaba en séptimo grado en middle school y fue interesante porque yo recuerdo, yo recuerdo aún algunos de los amigos que tenía en esa clase, en esas clases en middle school, ya en lo que es middle school o secundaria es tienes maestros diferentes para las diferentes materias y me acuerdo que estando sentado en la parte de atrás del salón, siempre la profesora decía, ok por favor copien todos las tareas y todo lo que está en el tablero, entonces ahí pues miraba, ahora lo que yo no me daba cuenta es que yo hacía esto, entonces yo escribía, yo escribía y me acuerdo que un día, todos los días yo pensé, no me daba cuenta que yo cerraba los ojos así para ver bien, entonces me acuerdo que un día jugando con una amiga que estaba en el pupitre al lado mío, le quité los lentes y me los puse como jugando, ah mira, mira y miré el tablero con los lentes de mi amiga y escuché a los ángeles cantar, aleluy, porque pude ver el tablero claramente sin hacer esto y fue en ese momento donde me di cuenta, me di cuenta que necesitaba lentes, necesitaba lentes para ver claramente, porque cuando me puse los lentes de mi amiga, pude ver claramente lo que antes no podía ver, porque la prescripción correcta y los lentes, ¿cuántos recuerdan ir quizás en algún momento al doctor de los ojos y te ponen cuál es mejor? ¿Esta o esta? ¿Esta o esta? ¿Esta? ¿Uno, dos? Y de repente uno se da cuenta, wow, yo estaba ciego y ahora puedo ver claramente. Ahora, todos nosotros tenemos áreas donde estamos cerrando los ojos y apretándolos así bastante, todos tenemos áreas donde quizás queremos ver claramente, pero todavía hay cosas borrosas, no solamente físicamente, esto sucede espiritualmente, emocionalmente, mentalmente, quizás se trata de tu propósito en la vida, está borroso, quizás algunas relaciones importantes, quizás cuando piensas y miras hacia tu futuro no ves con mucha claridad o aún tu relación con Dios, entonces como seres humanos intentamos más fuerte, cerramos y apretamos los ojos para tratar, pero todavía las cosas están

borrosas y a veces no nos damos cuenta cuán borroso está, hasta que algo entra en nuestra vida que nos permite ver con claridad y así me sucedió a mí cuando obtuve mi primer, mis primeros lentes para ver de lejos, ¿no? Lo cambió todo para mí, lo cambió todo y mi oración es que esto suceda para muchos de ustedes aquí, hoy en la iglesia, que por medio de la palabra, el poder de la palabra de Dios y su Espíritu Santo, quizás los que hemos estado esforzándolos para tratar de ver claramente y comprender a Dios y a las cosas de Dios, podamos verle más claramente y poder decir, wow, ahora veo, ahora veo a Jesús y vamos a arrancar esta serie, Jesús lo cambia todo, un estudio de Colosenses y de hecho el libro de Colosenses se trata de esto, ¿no? Pablo escribe el libro de Colosenses para ayudar a cristianos a ver más claramente, entonces prepárense para en estas semanas recibir la prescripción correcta espiritualmente hablando para ver a Jesús y como Él lo cambia todo. Antes de leer el libro de Colosenses, hablemos de este libro, el libro de Colosenses The question is, is it in the Old Testament or in the New Testament? The Book of Colossians is in the New Testament. It is a letter, it is a letter written to the Church of the Colossians. Who writes the letter? The apostle Paul. Paul, who writes many of these letters or epistles, writes this letter to, listen to me, it is to bring correction in the vision. It is to bring spiritual lenses to the Church of the Colossians. It was written in the year, more or less, in 60-62 AD. We are talking that this was not long after Jesus. There were still living people who had walked and had seen Jesus rise from the dead. The Colossians has four chapters, 95 verses, but it has one purpose, to establish the supremacy and the sufficiency of Jesus Christ. 100 miles from Ephesus, where Paul spent a lot of time building and building the Church, Paul himself was not in the Church of the Colossians, but he now hears about some problems

happening within the context of the Church of the Colossians, and he decides to write a letter to them. In fact, he was in this moment in prison, he was not free, but he was writing for this Church. Why does Paul write this letter to the Colossians? Ask me why. Because there was a threat, there was a threat to the Church and to the pure and correct faith in Jesus Christ. Everyone had heard of the love, the grace and the gospel of Jesus Christ, but there were some people who were teaching, and this was a threat, things that were against the pure faith in Jesus and in the gospel of Jesus. And these people were basically saying, Jesus is good, but Jesus is not enough. You need Jesus plus the worship of angels and celestial beings. You need Jesus plus special and mystical knowledge that only some have. You need Jesus plus following certain ceremonial laws. In other words, these people preached Jesus plus. However, that is to adulterate the gospel, of course, and that is why Paul decides to write this letter to the Colossians. Even today, we have to be careful, because sometimes there are people who come to us, to our lives, to our families, and threaten the pure faith in the word and in the gospel of Jesus Christ, because they have other ideas that add to Jesus or add to the gospel. So, what was the threat? The two main things that were the threats were this idea that Jesus is less than God. In other words, Jesus is not God. That the deity of Jesus was being attacked in those times in the church of the Colossians.

And the other idea is that there was a secret knowledge that was obtainable only by some select ones in the faith. These two ideas were against Scripture, against the heart of God, that there was a secret mystery that only some special ones could have. So, as soon as Paul hears about these issues and these threats, the Holy Spirit inspires him to write this letter to the Colossians. Colossians chapter 1, let's start in verse 1. He speaks of himself, he says, Paul, the apostle of Christ Jesus, by the will of God, and his brother Timothy, to the holy and faithful brothers in Christ who are in Colossians. May God, our Father, grant them grace and peace. Ok, let's stop for a moment. Even today, we have to understand that there are people who are attracted to mysterious things. We don't have to look back a lot to remember the Da Vinci Code, which sold 80 million copies because it brought ideas and mystical and mysterious concepts that were not part of the Bible. Things about secret angels and relations of Jesus that people did not know about. Apparently, there is something in the human being that sometimes is curious about mystical and mysterious things. The book of Colossians gives us important answers because we know that this is part of the word of God. The word of God is truth. The word of God has power. And the enemy, many times, does not want us to connect with the word of God. So, what does the enemy want to do? Distract us with all kinds of nonsense, all kinds of mysteries and mysticism. What do we have to do? Well, we want to understand who Jesus is, to be able to understand who I am, and then understand why. I'm here, that's the heart of God, that's the heart of the word.

So Paul begins by thanking God for the church of the Colossians and he prays for them. In fact, let's go to verse 9, let's skip to verse 9, it says, For this reason, from the day we knew it, we have not stopped praying for you, says Paul. We ask that God make you fully aware of His will with all wisdom and spiritual understanding. So that you may live in a way worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in everything. This implies bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, and being strengthened in every sense with His glorious power. Thus you will persevere with patience in every situation, giving thanks with joy to the Father. He has enabled you to participate in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. So, Paul prays for them at the beginning of this chapter, and Paul finds out, obviously, from the reports that reach him where he is, of these false teachings that have infiltrated the church of the Colossians about Jesus not being God, or Jesus being less than God, and these mysterious secrets that were for some. So Paul responds to these threats with three main points. I'm going to share with you three main points that Paul shares with you. Number one, here it is, Jesus is everything. Say with me, Jesus is everything. Say it with your eyes wide open, Jesus is everything. Jesus is not only something, Jesus is not only a part of God, Jesus is God. The supremacy and the sufficiency of Jesus Christ is total and complete. Let's go to verse 15 so that you can inject a little faith here. Jesus is, says verse 15, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Because through Jesus everything was created, all things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, powers, principalities, or authorities, everything has been created through Him and for Him. He is above all things that through Him form a coherent whole. In Him everything subsists.

Eighteen, He is the head of the body, which is the church. He is the principle, the firstborn of the resurrection, to be the first in all. Because God liked to live in Him with all His fullness. And through Him reconcile with Him all things, both those that are on earth and those that are in heaven, making peace through the blood that was shed on the cross. Jesus is everything. He is supreme, He is creator. He was not created, He is creator. All things were created by Him and for Him. And there we find the answer to those two big questions. Who am I and why am I here? Well, I, Virgilio, am a creature of God and I was created for Him, by Him and for Him. You, you are a unique creation and Jesus Christ created you. Your value is in you because you are a creation of Jesus. Nothing in this world can eliminate or remove the purpose that God has put in you. Because you were created by Jesus and you were created for Jesus. Perhaps you have some gifts and perhaps your purpose is connected to great and good things. However, everything is about Him. You are a creation of Almighty God and your purpose is to bring glory to Him. Is it about Jesus? Why? Because He created everything. Supremacy is in Him. Think for a moment about the solar system. Those of us who know a little, we have studied, even in school, the solar system. All planets are around what? The sun. What is the central part of the solar system? The sun.

That is why it is called the solar system. Because it is the key part. If the sun disappears, everything collapses. Because everything revolves around the sun. And what Paul is saying here in Colossians 1 is that Jesus is the center. Everything revolves around Jesus. Creation, everything. We revolve around Him. History, everything is connected to Him. Your life, my life, our families, everything is connected to Him. And when Jesus is not in the center, your life begins to fall apart. When Jesus is not in the center, your relationships fall apart. When Jesus is not in the center, your purpose becomes blurred. You cannot see clearly. And therefore, we run with what we see. And what we see is the things in the world. The form of the world. Ten cuidado con lo que cualquiera por ahí te dice. Ten cuidado con cualquiera que trata de enseñarte que Jesús no es Dios. Cuidado con mormones. Cuidado con testigos de Jehová. Cuidado con religiones y sectas religiosas que usan partes de la Biblia pero totalmente eliminan lo más importante de que Jesús es el central. Él es el supremo. Él no solamente te creó. Él derramó su sangre en la cruz para redimirte a ti y redimirme a mí. Jesús tiene toda supremacidad en toda la creación. Todo aliento, toda vida, toda creación. Algunas personas usan a Jesús como un accesorio. Algunos usan a Jesús como cholula. No, sí, pásame la cholula. No, no, no la he hecho. Algunos usan a Jesús así como que sí, hoy me provoco y mañana no. O en esto sí y en esto no.

Como si tú y yo pudiésemos sacar a Jesús del plato. Él lo es todo. Él lo es todo. Él es el alfa y la omega. En Él todo subsiste. Todo es coherente por Él. Y sin Él nada puede ser. Punto número dos que Pablo deja claro aquí. Todo lo que Jesús es, Él lo es en ti. Si tú eres un seguidor de Jesús, has recibido a Jesús, escúchame. Todo lo que Jesús es, Él lo es en ti. En ti, conmigo, en mí. En ti. Colossenses es un libro acerca de un misterio de Dios que ya ha sido revelado. El milagro es que ahora posicionalmente nosotros estamos en Cristo. Para personas como yo, yo nací aquí en los Estados Unidos de América. Para mí, por el hecho de que nací aquí en los Estados Unidos, los Estados Unidos está en mí por el resto de mi vida. Al nacer aquí, yo no me lo merecí, o sea, no es que yo me merecía eso, simplemente mi pasaporte dice que yo soy de Estados Unidos. Estados Unidos está en mí. Soy un ciudadano de. Y con eso vienen derechos y privilegios y oportunidades. ¿Por qué? Porque está en mí. Es importante entender este concepto de en mí. La vida cristiana. Cuando tú naces de nuevo, Dios viene a estar en mí, en ti. Ahora mi ciudadanía está en Él. Entonces cuando yo nazco de nuevo, entro a una nueva realidad y mi manera de pensar empieza a ajustarse. Mi manera de comportarme empieza a cambiar.

Pregúnteme por qué. Porque ahora tengo unos lentes que me permiten ver más claramente quién es Jesús, quién soy yo y para qué estoy yo aquí. Este es el punto. Todo lo que Jesús es, Él lo es en ti. Él revela este misterio. Versículo 26, salta ahí, Colosenses 1, 26. Anunciando el misterio que se ha mantenido oculto por siglos y generaciones, pero que ahora se ha manifestado a quienes? A sus santos, aquellos de nosotros que somos seguidores, que le hemos recibido. A estos, o sea nosotros, que hemos recibido a Jesús. A estos Dios se propuso dar a conocer. ¿Cuál es la gloriosa riqueza de este misterio entre las naciones? ¿Qué es? Este es el misterio. Cristo en ustedes. La esperanza, la esperanza de gloria. Ese es el misterio. Pablo está diciendo... ¿Por qué Pablo está hablando aquí como que si fuera un misterio? Él está respondiendo a las amenazas a esa iglesia de colosas en esos tiempos Y él les dice, yo les voy a hablar de un misterio. Y aquí está el misterio. Antes de Jesús, la gente no comprendía esto. Pero ahora tenemos la capacidad de entender que Jesucristo lo cambia todo. Y este es el misterio. Cristo en ustedes. La esperanza de gloria. Ese es el misterio. Esa es la bendición. Este es el nuevo mensaje. No son programas.

No es una ley que hay que seguir como antes de Jesús era ley. No son tradiciones. Párate, súbete, rodíllate, haz tres vueltas, ora, reza, prende una vela. Eso no sirve. Eso es religión. Religión no transforma corazones. Eso es robótico. Dios no quiere robots. Él quiere hijos. Este es el misterio. Una nueva posición. Cristo en nosotros. La esperanza de gloria. Y por esa razón sabemos que estamos en Cristo y que Cristo está en nosotros. Ahora imagínate esto. Con todo lo que Cristo es. Cristo en ti. Y tú en Cristo. Y Cristo en Dios. Y Dios en ti. Esto es un misterio. Y esto es lo tremendo que Dios nos ha revelado. Tú, si eres seguidor de Jesús, estás tan conectado al Dios trino por medio de la obra de Jesucristo. Y es una nueva realidad disponible a toda persona que lo recibe. El 28 dice, a este Cristo proclamamos. Dice, a este Cristo proclamamos, aconsejando y enseñando con toda sabiduría a todos los seres humanos para presentarlos a todos perfectos en él. Si alguien te está intentando enseñar que Jesús no es Dios y que Jesús no es el centro, con amor y con respeto dile, gracias pero no gracias, amigo. Si personas te están tratando de vender una espiritualidad mística más arriba de lo que la Biblia o más allá de lo que la Biblia nos ofrece, causándote a cerrar los ojos, dile, gracias pero no gracias, porque esta es la que nos da la prescripción correcta. La palabra de Dios Jesucristo nos da la prescripción correcta para ver claramente la revelación de quién Jesús es. Cuando tú y yo vemos y aceptamos a Jesús como supremo y suficiente, todas nuestras vidas cambian. No hay un secreto por revelarse que no está claro en la palabra.

No hay un misterio a ser descubierto. Ahí lo dice en el 28, a este Cristo proclamamos, aconsejando y enseñando con toda sabiduría a todos los seres humanos para presentarlos a todos perfectos en él. ¿Cómo tú puedes estar perfecto o completo espiritualmente? Pues, estando en Cristo y reconociendo quién eres tú en Cristo. 29, con este fin trabajo y lucho fortalecido por el poder de Cristo, ¿qué obra, dónde? ¿Dónde obra? Dile a la persona a tu lado, ¿dónde obra? En mí, obra en mí, en mí. Esta es la belleza de la vida cristiana, porque no se trata de yo y Jesús, se trata de Jesús en mí. Y esto lo cambia todo, esto lo cambia todo. Mira, es como el ejemplo del guante. Yo levanto aquí un guante, yo pongo un guante aquí, aquí en este púlpito, pongo un guante. ¿Qué puede hacer el guante solo? El guante solo no puede hacer nada, no puede recoger nada, no puede construir nada, no puede servir. Pero cuando una mano entra en el guante, ahora ese guante puede ser útil para construir, para edificar, para ayudar, para servir. Eso es lo que sucede cuando recibo a Jesús y Cristo viene a estar en mí. Yo soy el guante, tú eres el guante. Solos no podemos hacer nada, pero con Él en nosotros. Somos útiles, somos fructíferos, producimos fruto, logramos cosas. No por nosotros, no por el guante, sino por la mano, por la presencia de Dios y su Espíritu Santo. Esto significa que tú y yo no necesitamos recurrir a nuestras propias fuerzas. No tenemos que depender en nuestro propio entendimiento y sabiduría. Tú no tienes que cargar tu vida y el peso de la vida y el mundo sobre ti. ¿Por qué? Porque Jesús lo es todo y Jesús está en ti. Y eso lo cambia todo, todo. Número uno, Jesús lo es todo. Número dos, todo lo que Jesús es, Él lo es en ti. Y número tres, Jesús lo cambia todo.

Jesús no solamente es todo, sino que Jesús lo cambia todo. Esta es una buena frase para resumir el libro de Colosenses. Primero que nada, Jesús es todo. Y todo lo que Jesús es, Él lo es en ti. Pero aquí está la clave, Jesús lo cambia todo. Aquí les doy una línea, miren, miren. Jesús está en mí cambiando todo. Jesús está en mí cambiando todo. ¿Cuántos han visto alguna vez esas fotos de antes y después? Cuando alguien ha tenido un cambio o una casa que se ha remodelado antes y después, ¿no? Cuando tú recibes a Jesús y pasa el tiempo, eventualmente hay un punto donde el antes de Cristo luce muy diferente al nacido de nuevo, ¿sí o no? Hay una diferencia entre el antes y después. Jesús tiene como intención hacer un makeover. Él quiere renovar y remodelar tu vida y mi vida. Él no quiere que tú y yo sigamos siendo la misma persona que éramos antes de Él, porque si es así, entonces, ¿para qué recibir a Cristo? El punto es... When you and I are in Christ, and Christ is in us, it will be evident a before and after. Look at Colossians 1, verse 21. Look at this reality. In another time, Paul says, you, because of your attitude and your bad actions, were what? Positionally and relationally, you were far from God, and you were his enemies. Untouchable and irreproachable. Before him, he has reconciled them in the mortal body of Christ through his death, so that they remain, how? Firm in faith, well-founded, rooted and stable,

without abandoning the hope that the gospel offers, the good news, the message. There is a transference, there is an adjustment, there is a change. Look at verse 13. He delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. That is what happens in a life that receives, there is a transference, there is a transference, there is an adjustment, there is a change from darkness to light. That is why, if I am with Christ, I cannot continue to be the same, brother, sister. Not only because you enter a farm, you are a hen. And there are many who say, oh pastor, I have been coming to church for 10 years. Yes, but the question is if you have been born again. Is there a before and an after, or do you still speak the same way? Do you still treat people the same way? Do you still have the same habits? The same vices? Because if there is no change, no adjustment. Now, we need help in the process, in the way to deal with some of these things. God helps us, and God puts people who help us in his process. But there has to be a change, there has to be a transference. Because if not, it may be that I attend the church, but I was not born again. It may be that I know God in my head, but I have not received Jesus in my heart. He rescued us, he transferred us, Christ forgives us and redeems us from our sins, and he begins to transform us. That inner change starts from the inside and begins to reflect from the outside as well. And we go from death to life. That is why it is good that I am in Christ, but it is good that Christ is in me. That changes everything. How does it begin to change us? What is the first thing that happens when you are a Christian? Do they cut your hair? No, no, it is inside.

And then, external evidences come. Jesus in me, renewing me. That is his plan, changing me, transforming me. The way I think now is different because Jesus is in me. Do you understand what I am saying? Can we be real? As a man, the image of a woman comes, who shows more flesh than a butcher. So, the question is, how am I going to be? Am I going to continue? Or am I going to say, hey, that is not for me. There has to be something that begins to be renewed, a remodeling. A renewal. That is why the Bible talks so much about renewal. Renewing the mind, the understanding. It also talks about being born again. Because I cannot continue being the same. I am the same person, but I do not have the same character. Because I am being renewed, transformed. In the way I speak, in the way I think, in the way I look, in the way I treat others. My intentions, my motivations of my heart. My perspective of money. How many of us learned something about money in this series of rootings? The perception. Everything changes when you understand the principle of majority. That is the key. The principle of majority says, I do not own anything. I am only a mayor. With that, my perspective changes.

If you have a problem with your car. It is damaged, something happened. You are in the workshop and you need a car. You have three days and you need a car. And you lend it to me. You say, Pastor Virgilio, please, I need a car. I say, look, I lend you my car. And if I lend it to you, you will be grateful and you will use it. But if three days later you come back to me and you say, Pastor Virgilio, my wife and I have in our hearts to give you this car. That is, when you are going to return my car and you say, we want to give you this car. I say, you are crazy. You cannot give me what belongs to me. So when you and I think that we are owners, we think that when we give to God, we are giving something to Him that is ours. And we are very wrong. The tenth is not giving Him something that is ours. The tenth is real. return to him what is already his, but unless I have the correct mentality and understand by the renewal of understanding that this is not mine, I am only a mayor of what he trusts me. Now I understand that I return him 10% of everything he gives me and he says, use the rest of the 90 and I will bless him. It's still mine, but I allow you. But if I don't have that mentality, I think I'm doing a favor to God by giving him 50 dollars. What a good person I am, because I gave him 50 dollars. is me

today. Today is an invitation to re-focus and to put the prescription of the word of God to be able to see Jesus clearly. It is like the example of a man who lived most of his life with a very poor vision of his eyes and he did not realize how bad his vision was until one day he received those glasses, just like it happened to me, and when he went out he began to see things that were always there but he had never seen them. I remember a video that I showed you a few years ago of the Daltonic people who put on special glasses when they see the color. They had never seen it, but it was always there. And some, when we come to Jesus and we put on the glasses of the gospel and suddenly the scales fall and we begin to see many of us, we say, wow, now I see Jesus, now I understand what I was not seeing before. He is everything. And everything that He is, He is in me. And Jesus changes everything. I motivate you today, re-focus your life and organize your life around Jesus. Do not make Him organize around you because you are not, you are cute, but you are not that big. Receive His power. Be renewed in your understanding, be transformed. Why? Because Jesus changes everything. Jesus changes everything. Where would I be without Jesus? Who would be without Jesus? I motivate you that today, and in these days, you still get a little into the book of Colossians because it is like a prescription that helps us begin to see Jesus more clearly. That is my prayer for you, that you can understand and see Jesus is not something, Jesus is everything. And everything that He is, He is in me when I am His follower.

And not only Jesus is everything, but Jesus changes everything. There are problems in our marriage, Jesus can change everything. There are adverse work situations, Jesus can change everything. There are relational difficulties with children, with parents, with brothers, Jesus can change everything. There are diseases, there are threats to health, Jesus can change everything. He can remove what is blurry. He can help us to be relieved, that our eyes rest from being so tight. He can give us clarity. I want to pray two prayers to close. Lord, thank you, because your word reveals to us Jesus. And thank you, because Jesus is not only part of all this, He is everything. Open our eyes to see Jesus clearly, to refine our vision even more. Remove all obstacles that prevent our clear vision. And remind us that Jesus Christ lives in us when we are His followers. Strengthen us to walk in confidence and purpose. And Lord, allow this study of the book of Colossians to transform our lives. Renew our minds. Impact our families. And clarify our future. Thank you, Lord. Jesus, because you truly change everything. In the beautiful name of Jesus, we pray, amen, amen, amen. A big, big, big round of applause.
