Jesus Is Heaven | Crossroads Reels
They'd be like, one day we're gonna get to heaven and it'd be pearly gates and live on clouds and we'll just sing songs to Jesus all day long. And they would say this as I had just sung a song to Jesus played by some lady ironically named Martha on a pipe organ and it bored me to death. And I was like, if that's heaven, no thank you. You know, like I'll take my odds with the other place because I know I'm not gonna like that. I'm bad at sitting still, I don't like these songs. And if you've ever had a moment like that too, where you're like, man, I've struggled to connect with what church seems to tell me heaven is like, I have good news for you. That view of heaven, this disembodied spiritual weird thing that's not Jesus, that's Plato. Now, whatever you're picturing, if you're imagining a place, you're not imagining Jesus's version of heaven because the thing that Jesus does that reframes everything when he says, I am the resurrection in the life is he says eternity, heaven is not about a place, it's about a person. It's not about a someday there, it's about a me right here with you right now in this moment. And it changes our questions, not how do I get there someday? How do I enjoy his presence today?
