Inner Healing: The Root Behind the Fruit

What's going on family, we are in video number six. We're gonna talk about healing the root behind the fruit. Again, the root behind the fruit. So welcome back to session six. We have covered theology, demonic hierarchy, the demonization debate, strongholds and generational curses. And now we arrive at what I believe is the missing piece in most deliverance ministries, inner healing. Let me tell you something that experience has taught me. You can cast a demon out of someone. And if you do not address the wound that gave the demon access, it will come back. Jesus warned us about this in Matthew 12, 43. And when an unclean spirit comes out of the man, he goes through dried places, seeking rest and finds none. Then he says, I will return to my house from which I came. And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself. And they enter and dwell there. And the state of that man is worse than the first. The house was swept away. I'm sorry, the house was empty, swept and put in order, clean, but empty. The demon was evicted, but nothing filled the space, that space it left. No healing, no restoration, no reconstruction of what was broken.

And because the house was empty, the spirit returned with reinforcements. This is why deliverance without inner healing is eviction without renovation. You clean the house, but you did not fix the broken window that the enemy used to get in. And he will use it again. Inner healing is the ministry of allowing the Holy Spirit to go into the wounded places of the soul, the places of trauma, rejection, abuse, abandonment, shame, and grief, and bring the healing presence of Jesus into those memories and those broken areas. It is not psychology. It is not therapy. It is the fulfillment of Isaiah 61. The spirit of the Lord is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. Isaiah 61.1. Notice the order. Heal the broken hearted. It comes before liberty to the captives. Healing the heart comes before casting out the devil. Jesus listed inner healing before deliverance. And I believe this was intentional. Often the heart must be healed before the demon can permanently be removed

because the wound is legal ground. And the Hebrew word for heal in that scripture is the word kabash, which means to wrap tightly, to band-aid, to compress a wound. It is a medical term. God is the surgeon of the soul. He goes into the wound, not around it, not over it, into it. He goes into it and he binds it. He wraps it. He brings closure to what was torn open. Let me explain how trauma creates an open door. When a person experiences a traumatic event, especially in childhood, the soul fractures. The mind cannot process the magnitude of the pain. So it compartmentalizes. It locks the memory away, but it does not disappear. It festers. And in that wounded, unhealed place, a demon can attach. Not because the person invited it, not because they sinned, but because the wound created a vulnerability and the enemy exploited it. A child who was sexually abused often carries a spirit of shame, a spirit of perversion, or a spirit of rejection. Not because they did anything wrong, but because the trauma tore something open in the soul. And the enemy attached to the wound, if you cast out the spirit of shame, but never heal the memory of the abuse,

the shame will return because the wound is still open. This is why in deliverance ministry, we ask questions before we start commanding. We minister to the person, not just to the demon. We ask, what happened to you? Where does it hurt? When did this start? What is the earliest memory of this feeling? Because almost always there is a root event, a moment where the door opened, where the lie was planted, where the wound was inflicted. Psalm 147, three says, he heals the brokenhearted. He binds up their wounds, right? The word wounds in the Hebrew, and again, I'm gonna try to pronounce this right, is at-sith-bath. I don't even know how to pronounce that, which means griefs, sorrows, and pain. So the word for wounds in the Hebrew just means griefs, sorrows, and pains. So these are emotional wounds. God does not just heal bodies, he heals the inner man. He heals the grief that has lived inside of you for decades. He heals the sorrow that you learned to live with because you thought it was normal. And here is the key to inner healing. It is not about reliving trauma, it is about inviting Jesus into the memory.

The Holy Spirit can take you back to the moment, not to re-traumatize you, but to reveal where Jesus was in it. Because he was there, he saw it, he wept over it, and he is able to speak truth into the lie that was planted in that moment. The lie of rejection says you are unwanted, and Jesus says in Jeremiah 31.3, and kindness I've drawn you. The lie of shame always says you are damaged goods. Jesus says in Romans 8.1, there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit, Romans 8.1. The lie of abandonment says everyone will leave you. Jesus says in Hebrews 13.5, I will never leave you nor forsake you. When the truth of God's word, this displaces the lie that was rooted in trauma, the wound closes and your nature changes. And when the wound closes, the demon loses its legal ground. Now you can command it to leave and it will not come back because there is nothing for it to attach to. This is why the most effective deliverance sessions often involve tears before they involve authority. There is a breaking that happens when a person finally lets the Holy Spirit touch the place they have been protecting for years.

The walls come down, the grief surfaces, the truth enters, and then, then you exercise authority over the spirits that were attached to the wound. Inner healing is not optional. In deliverance ministry, it is foundational. Jesus healed hearts before he casted out demons. And if we want lasting fruit, we must do the same.
