God Is Here, But Are You Aware? | The Ongoing Work of the Holy Spirit
This week Rabbi Schneider encourages us to become more aware of the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives, how to follow His guidance into deeper truth, freedom, and intimacy with God.
We have to be more aware of the fellowship that we presently have with God Himself through His Spirit. Holy brothers and sisters, I'm going to minister to you something that's one of the most important teachings I've ever brought you in my life. I'm going to be sharing with you, and I pray imparting to you, to all of us, myself included, a greater awareness of the ongoing supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKadosh, in our lives. The ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. This is so important. We're just going to pray for a moment here. Father, in Yeshua's name, in the name of Your Son, our Messiah, that You've given us, Father, to reconcile to Yourself. Daddy, we pray that You would supernaturally cause a new awareness to emanate from within all of us of Your present reality in our lives through the Spirit that's been given to us by Your Son. Father, through You, through the Son, Father, that we carry now. And I ask this in Yeshua's name. Amen. You know, if you think about this for a second, the Father is not on earth right now. He's in heaven. Jesus is not on earth right now. He's in heaven at the right hand of God. Remember when Stephen got stoned to death and as he was dying, he said, I see Jesus at the right hand of God. Yeshua is not on earth right now. He's at the right hand of God. But the Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKadosh, the Spirit of God is here with us presently. And many of us, we're looking to the Father, we're looking to the Son, but we're not aware that God's Spirit, His presence is here now. And so we need to expand our awareness of the present reality of God in our life today, here and now through His Ruach. Ruach is the Hebrew word for breath. It's also the Hebrew word for spirit. So many of you have heard the phrase, the Ruach Spirit HaKadosh of God, the Ruach HaKadosh, the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit rather, the Ruach Spirit HaKadosh Holy. So when we say Ruach HaKadosh, we're saying the Holy Spirit. Now, it's really, really critical that if you and I are going to arise and walk in power, I'm talking about power that comes through conviction. We're going to have to be more aware of the fellowship that we presently have with God himself, with the Father, with the Son, through His Spirit who's been given to us as a gift. Now, what we're going to do, we're going to look at the different things that the Holy Spirit is presently doing for us as we look over the series here, because I think this is going to go longer than just this one message as we're examining. And I don't say the word examining as if it's just some type of scientific study, but I use it in the sense of bringing us into a greater awareness of God's presence. So we're going to be looking at specifically what is God doing in our lives presently through the ministry of His Spirit that is here now. Number one, His Spirit is here helping us. Here's the Word of God, Romans 8 26. I see several truths that are being highlighted to me by the Spirit right now as we read that verse together. Let's look at it again. I want you to really think about it as you're reading at this time, even those of you that know it well, because we're going to kind of take this verse apart and we're going to see from this verse several things that we can anchor into right now, knowing the Spirit's doing this for you and I today.
Here we go. In the same way, the Spirit also, here we go, helps our weakness. For we do not know how to get this pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Let's first of all concentrate on this idea of the Spirit of the Lord helping us. us in our weakness. In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weakness. Aren't you glad that if you're not strong, God's Spirit is helping you in your weakness? Thank you, Ruach HaKadosh. Thank you so much, Father, for sending us the Helper. I mean, we're called to be strong, right? The Scripture says, be strong in the might of the Lord and in the strength of His power. We want to arise and be strong, but many times, beloved, our weakness needs to be healed before we become strong and can walk in that divine strength. So I'm so thankful to know that as I'm becoming strong, that in my weakness, God has given you and I His Spirit in our weakness to strengthen us, to make us whole. Thank you so much. I'm just so thankful for that, that it's not up to me to always be strong. It's not up to you to always be strong, because we all stumble and fall at times. And oftentimes we're faced with things in our life that we can't handle. They're bigger than us. Emotional stresses, relational stresses, circumstantial stresses, spiritual stresses. What do I mean by this? I mean, sometimes there's just too many things to do in a day. You have too much responsibility. And sometimes you just feel broken and overwhelmed by that. Guess what? When you're feeling like that and experiencing that, God's Spirit is helping you, ministering to you in your weakness. We may get emotionally overwhelmed, just too many relationships or certain things happening in a specific relationship, just that are so heavy that you're just broken by. Guess what? You're not alone. The Spirit of the Lord is strengthening you in that weakness. And finally, let's just talk again about circumstances, just to really make this detailed, so we understand this. We are not alone in this world. Yeshua said, I will not leave you alone. I'm going to send you the comforter or the helper, which we're going to be examining, the Spirit. We're not alone. God's Spirit is with you, strengthening you, my beloved holy brothers and sisters, in your weaknesses. And the next time that you face something that you weren't anticipating, some mountain suddenly is right in front of you, and it's too big for you to get to the top alone. Guess what? You're not alone. The Spirit of the Lord is with you and will strengthen you in that place where you got overwhelmed. God's Spirit is
going to breathe life into you to raise you back up and strengthen you so you can go up that mountain and ascend it and get over that circumstance. Baruch Hashem, bless the name of the Lord. God's Spirit is here. Going back to the verse. In the same way, the Spirit of the Lord also, here we go, helps our weakness. And then we're taking this to the next concept here. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. This gets back to the same concept. I'm so broken. I don't know. I wasn't meaning to say the word broken, but it came out of my mouth. When I'm broken, when I don't have the capacity to pray as I should, as the scripture just told us, guess what? I'm not alone and I'm not going to fail, even though I don't have the capacity in myself. But the Spirit in me is going to pray through me, for me, and you, and intercede for us, and we're going to be strengthened. When you're in a situation where you're clueless even to know how to pray, we've heard of the subconscious mind, right? That's the part of our mind that's actually the greater processing area of our mind. And the subconscious is the part of our thinking process that's determining our mood and our feelings. The subconscious mind, we're not even aware of the thoughts that we're thinking in the subconscious mind oftentimes. But guess what? The Spirit of the Lord is in us. He knows exactly what we need, and He's praying through us to the Father, interceding that if there's things in our subconscious mind that are defeating us, that are putting us in doubt, in fear, in torment, under accusation, guess what? The Spirit, even though we might not be aware of those things, these that are going on in our subconscious mind, but the Spirit is, and He's interceding through you to the Father and the Son. So thank you, Holy Spirit, for praying for us. You should just thank Him right now. Let's just thank Him together. You're not alone. The Holy Spirit is in you, helping you in your weakness and praying for you, even when you don't even know what you should be praying for or that you should be praying.
So Spirit of the Lord, we just thank you in Yeshua's name. We say, toda rabba, to the Holy Spirit. That's Hebrew for, thank you very much, Holy Spirit. Okay, so number one, we covered today so far, the Spirit of the Lord helps us. Let's go to number two now. I love this. The Spirit of the Lord guides us. Let's look at John 16, 13. Yeshua's speaking. But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak and He will disclose to you what is to come. Again, we're focusing on the fact that the Spirit of the Lord guides us. Yeshua spoke about those that said that they knew they had sin, and when they confessed their sin, they were cleansed. Well, I want you to consider that same concept as it relates to thinking that we see when we don't see. In other words, in order for someone to be cleansed of their sin, they need to confess it. For a blind person to regain their sight, they first have to confess their blindness. And what I mean by that is that life is a huge mystery that the truth is none of you understand. And I don't understand. Life is a mystery we don't understand fully
the reality in which we're living. We don't understand the spiritual atmosphere that's around us in the fullest sense. We don't understand what we're really dealing with in this world. We don't understand the mystery of our dreams at night. We don't understand why God is allowing certain things to happen. There's so much that we don't understand. But in order to gain understanding, we need to speak to the Father. We need to say, Father, I don't understand. Will you please guide me? Maybe you're facing a situation in life that you don't quite know how to handle it. Guess what? The Father has given us his spirit as a gift. When we received his son, it came with the gift of the spirit. Once we received Jesus, we were given the gift of the spirit. And now we can pray that the Lord will guide us through what we're facing so we can navigate through it. Maybe you need wisdom about something. Guess what? The spirit of God will give you the guidance. He'll give you the wisdom. Maybe you're about to face a situation at work, in your family, you don't quite know how to handle it. It's gonna be maybe a difficult situation.
Guess what? When you cling to God and ask him to guide you, really ask him to guide you, he's gonna hear your cry and the spirit of the Lord will guide you. God has given us his spirit to guide us. Jesus said, but when he comes, the spirit of truth, he will guide you, get this now, into what, this next phrase, into all the truth. Not only will the Holy Spirit guide us circumstantially, relationally, but he'll guide us even more importantly, Jesus said, into the truth. Some of us have a very shallow understanding of truth. We think truth is just knowing the doctrine, that we think truth is just making a simple declaration that we believe in Yeshua, we believe in Jesus. Let me tell you, my beloved brothers and sisters, my holy friends, the truth is very deep. The truth is deep. There are so many layers to the truth. Did you ever read the Bible and there was a verse in the Bible that you read a hundred times, you knew the verse by heart, and all of a sudden you read that same verse and you got a whole deeper level of revelation and of meaning, and even though you understood it before, somehow when you read it for the 115th time, something opened up to you and you saw that verse
and you saw the revelation in it in a whole new way. That's the truth. That's what truth is. Truth is deep, deep, it's deeper than the deepest part of the sea. But the Holy Spirit's been given to us that we would fully enter into the truth, that we would comprehend the depth and the breadth of the love of God. There's so many levels to the truth. I don't even know, I can't. communicate what I'm trying to say. But we hear the truth, we think, yeah, the Holy Spirit will lead us into the truth. What's the truth? That Jesus is the Messiah. What's the truth? That God forgives us. You know, we have these declarations. All those are true. But I want to tell you, truth is so deep. There's such a fullness to it. When we know the truth, we see into every relationship differently. We understand reality differently. We understand the nature of the world and why we're here differently. The Holy Spirit's been given to us to know the truth. Again, Jesus said, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. You know what Yeshua said about the truth in John chapter 8? He said, if the Son makes you free, you'll be free indeed. You shall know the truth, He said, and the truth will make you free. How many want to be free? Think about the freest moment. Do you have a memory where you felt so free in your life? Even maybe back when you were a little kid. But can you remember a time in your life where you felt so free? Jesus is going to bring us into a freedom that's so much greater than any
freedom we've ever experienced before in this world. And it's going to happen, He said, when we know the truth. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Well, when I read that verse, I prayed, Lord, what is the truth that I need to know to be free? Have you ever prayed that? If you've never prayed that, why have you not prayed that? When we read that verse, you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Shouldn't we be praying to the Lord, Lord, what is the truth that will make me free? And so I want to encourage you, let's pray that together right now, because we want to be free. Jesus came to set us free, free. Jesus, we ask you, Father in Yeshua's name, we ask you to wash us by the Ruach HaKadosh, by the Holy Spirit, and sanctify us in the truth, that you would enlighten our minds to know the truth and put revelation in our heart and spirit to know the truth so that we would be free in the truth. We ask you for that truth, Lord, that we need to enter into consciously in order to feel and be free. The simplest truth, beloved, that God really loves us and He's here. We say God loves us, we say that's the truth, God loves us, but how much revelation do we really have about that truth? But you know what, the Holy Spirit will guide you deeper into that truth as we obey Him by His grace, because in order to be in a place of alignment where we can be, a vessel we can pour into, we have to be open and we open ourselves for Him to pour truth into us when we obey Him. So we have to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Even obeying Him is a gift, but we play a role in this. I want to encourage you today that the Holy Spirit's a gift, but we also read in the book of Acts that God gives the Holy Spirit to those that obey Him.
And so the Holy Spirit's a gift, but if we want to receive the experience, experiential reality of knowing God's Spirit and all the benefits and blessings of the Spirit in our life, we have to cooperate like Abraham and obey. So we are going to close this out, this message today, I'm going to pick up, and this is just so empowerful. The Holy Spirit is here. If we're praying to a God that's just up in heaven without an awareness that He's here, in fact just say this with me, let's say this together, I'm going to say it once and then we'll repeat it together, God is here. You can even put your hand over your heart and say it with me. You'll feel something, many of you. Let's just put our hand over our heart and say this together, God is here. He's here and now to bless you and I, and the greatest gift that we could have ever received from the Father is the gift of Himself through His Spirit. You have received the living God. The living God is present in your life and He's here to bless you, minister to you, strengthen you, serve you, love you. He is here right now to do all those things while you're in this world, while you're on this earth, while you're living on this earth. This planet grew his spirit. So let's wake up. Let's open up. Let's give the Lord our hearts and obey him. And as we do, God is going to become for you an ever present, living, experiential, and real reality. In the book of Numbers, chapter six, the Lord gave instructions to Moses and Aaron to speak this blessing over his people. And the Lord said, when you speak these words over my people, I will place my name on them and bless them. Receive the impartation of the Lord's blessings. Yair Yahweh P'nav Eylecha V'chuneyecha
Yissa Yahweh P'nav Eylecha V'asem Lecha Shalom The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift you up by his countenance and the Lord give you, beloved one, his peace. God bless you and shalom.
