Today on power in the word You ought to be pregnant with expectancy you ought to be expected with favor You ought to be pregnant with with looking for the blessings in the favor of God to follow me around But you know what we're just we're just we got in a mentality of a barely get by Mentality and we holding on to that because we don't believe that God can do a supernatural thing You know why because I haven't earned it yet. I haven't deserved it yet If you're doing that you don't understand grace and grace is about to turn all that around because he's gonna look after you He's gonna provide for you. He's gonna give you a favor Let me tell you something if you live or if you die you still in Christ Welcome to power in the word Does my behavior determine my eternal destiny? Well today dr. Norris shows us in the scripture that our behavior is never perfect But our consciousness of Jesus Christ and his grace Determines the path of our lives It's a great message. You'll be encouraged stay with us. I Know that God wants to free your mind from a sin mentality How many of you got a favor mentality? How many of you are looking for favor every day of your life you're expecting favor to follow you around every day? How many of you I'm not talking about you're working in there and looking for this big one deal I'm to my you're expecting favor to follow you around every day. You get a need to get a favor mindset I want to start with verse 37 of and behold a woman in the city who was up She was a sinner guys now think about this a minute. Here's a woman that was pretty much a prostitute, right? She was a sinner and when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in this Pharisees house She brought alabaster facts full of her fragrant oil now here. We see a woman. That's a prostitute going inside of a house How did she know that Pharisees lived there so we understand from reading this text There's some deeper revelation here than just what we've been taught because she knew exactly that Jesus was in that Pharisees house She brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil now look at 38 and he called her a sinner and stood at his feet behind him wiping and she began to wash his feet with her tears wipe them with the hair of her head and she kissed his feet and Anointed them with the fragrant oil and I want you to I want you to get a visual picture of this Here's Jesus this man anointed by God sent from God to change the world and all of a sudden the prostitutes kissing his feet

Do you think he had to deal with his head? I'm gonna preach this different. You've heard it. Do you think he had to deal with his head? What do you think the church folks thought we're gonna find out in just a minute, don't you know? Don't he know who kind of woman he's dealing with and how many of you know, you love me I know you do but how many of you do not if a prostitute come in here and you knew she was a prostitute She was dressed like one act like one and you'd been with her You would you would criticize her doing that to me tonight And you say the pastor's lost his mind Come on now be real just I want you to think outside the box And so we see all of a sudden here's this woman coming in She's taking every bit of money every bit of that that she had saved a whole year's salary from prostituting And she had bought this alabaster box full of ornament and now she's taking this ornament and washing his feet a whole year salary She's a sinner ain't asking him one time to forgive her She just begins to cry and weep. She wasn't even supposed to take her hair down in public But she's not only taking her hair down. She's wiping his feet and drying it with her hair So she's stepping completely out of the box and tearing the religious folks up From the floor up now watch this verse 39 And when the Pharisees who had invited him saw this he spoke to himself the Pharisee who had invited him See, he already got him talking to himself Think about it read it and when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this he spoke to himself He said say if this man if he were a prophet would know who and what matter woman This is who is touching him for she is a sinner How'd he know she was a sinner? How did he know she was a sinner he just guessed that Think about it just a minute guys, how did he know she was a sinner? And why did he say if he don't know what kind of man this was if he don't know what kind of woman this was it Was touching him wouldn't he had done so when he had stopped her Luke 7 and 48 watch this and he said to her Your sins are forgiven

She didn't ask for that guys He hadn't died and resurrected yet, how could he forgive her of her sins and He said to her your sins are forgiven and Those in the house with him begin to say to themselves who is this who even forgives sins? Then he said to the woman your faith has saved you go in peace now What kind of faith did she have what she had been sleeping with somebody the night before all the money she gave as a sacrifice to him was money she had raised doing illegal stuff and so she breaks the monotony, comes into the house where he's in a meeting with a bunch of men and tears up the theology and begins to wash his feet, begins to cry, begins to dry it with her hair and then dried it with her tears that she had shed on him and then he tells her much has been forgiven much is given and then he said your sins have forgiven you now look what he said and he said to the woman your faith your faith has saved you cuz she hadn't even asked to be saved now that tears the theology up in the church about we got to get it right she didn't get it right she come in as a sinner falling on her face worshiping him exalting him washing his feet and your feet was the dirtiest part of him because the cattle walked on the same road that people walked on and so it was the dirtiest part of this man and she fell down and began to wash his feet and she didn't even know who he was or did she sure she knew who he was but I'm telling you he said now your sins have been forgiven you and because of your faith you've been saved your faith has saved you how could your faith save you couldn't be saved he hadn't died yet but look at Titus chapter 2 so I want to free your mind tonight from sin I want to free your mind from a sin consciousness and a mindset that you know what it's like this and it's like this and it's like this and like I'm telling you God's about to rip the cages off this religious mindset look what he said in Titus chapter 2 verse 11 for the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to how many people guys do you understand what's going over on over there in Iraq in Israel right now with with with all the the terrorists and all

the things that's going on do you know Jesus loves them too but I want to show you something go to verse 12 stay with me because I'm going somewhere the grace of God that appears to all man is teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lust we shall live soberly righteously and godly in this present age so he's saying that the grace of God is gonna teach me how to live holy it's gonna teach me how to live righteous it's gonna teach me how to walk beyond the circumstances of my life and I'm gonna live in godliness and righteousness and soberly before man what is he saying to us guys think about it a minute I want you to see what David said in Psalms 129 Psalms 139 verse 23 don't you see this David told God he said search me O God and know my heart try me and know my anxieties how many times have you ever told God search me listen to me guys you got to understand that David was an old covenant man and he didn't understand what searching in me if God searched you today I'm telling you if God would find if he searched your heart today what would he find only your righteousness in Christ Jesus he wouldn't find any darkness he wouldn't find any sin he wouldn't sign any perversion so you got to get past your mindset if we're gonna be able to walk in this place that we walking into and so I want you to understand tonight that God's got a plan for your life God's got a purpose for your life God's got a direction for your life and there's God can do a supernatural thing in your life when you get favor minded when you get to the point that you're looking and expecting the supernatural things of God you know we're looking up what can I do how can I change this situation David said search me O Lord know my heart try me know my anxieties he said search me listen if God searched you today he would find nothing but the righteousness of Jesus Christ you've got to live in that mentality that the favor of God can come into your life not because of what you've done but because the righteousness and the blessings and the favor of God we don't understand this message of grace grace is so much bigger than we listen you can exaggerate it still can't get it and I'm telling you I'm seeing in my mind and in my heart let's go to Hebrews chapter 11 8 verses 12 Hebrews 8 and 12 for I will be

merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more now I'm gonna preach something that I'm fixing to say something that that a lot of you are going to struggle with you're gonna have to swallow deeply but God is so merciful and so gracious and loving and compassionate God don't cause all this stuff that's going on in Israel right now but his mercy and grace is available for even them even the ones that's doing all this beheading and even all doing all this destruction and I know that that's hard for us to swallow here in America's worse because we're so blessed we're so blessed here and we take so much for granted but I want you to understand today that that sometimes the favor of God follows you around but it cannot fall on you and receive it unless and you're expecting it to come in you you can't receive it unless you're expecting it to happen if you're not looking for it if you're not expecting it it's never gonna happen all these you know my my daughter-in-law she's she's pregnant right now and and she was you know we call that expecting And so we go to the doctor and they tell us we're expecting, we're three weeks, four weeks, six weeks, eight weeks, however many weeks we are. We go around and we start telling everybody we're pregnant. You can't see no sign of that pregnancy. Are you pregnant? You ought to be pregnant with expectancy. You ought to be expected with favor. You ought to be pregnant with looking for the blessings and the favor of God to follow me around. But you know what? We got in a mentality of a barely get by mentality and we're holding on to that because we don't believe that God can do a supernatural thing. You know why? Because I haven't earned it yet. I haven't deserved it yet.

If you're doing that, you don't understand grace. And grace is about to turn all that around because he's going to look after you. He's going to provide for you. He's going to give you favor. Let me tell you something. If you live or if you die, you're still in Christ. And we sit around and we're concerned. Let me tell you something. Tradition has taught us to be occupied with self. We need to be occupied with Jesus Christ. We ought to be so consumed by him that favor just follows us like a glove. The blessing of the Lord will make a man rich and won't add any sorrow to it. No laboring, no toring. In Proverbs chapter 10 verse 22. But let's go to 1 John chapter 6 verse 4 chapter 17. Love has been perfected among us in this. Listen to me. Love has been perfected among us in this, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment because as he is, not as he was, but as he is, so are we in this world. How was he? How was he? He was absolutely perfect. How was he? Was he blessed? I can't see where he ever said, you know what, I'm going to put a sign out front because we've got to raise some money because we're going to do a crusade over there in Jerusalem. You don't find that, guys. He didn't say, well, I don't know how, Peter, we're going to pay our taxes, brother. I don't know if God's going to come through or not. He said, just go catch a fish and inside of that fish will be everything you need.

He was giving a prophetic word that if you and I will catch people, people's got what we need. Glory be to God. We don't understand that things that God wants to use people, the people you sow into and live with and experience. See, he was telling me, he said, you go catch the fish and your provision is inside the fish. He's told you to go catch the fish and your provision is inside the fish. Let's go to John 1 29. Look what Jesus said here. And John the Baptist was looking at Jesus walking down through the streets there and he said, look at there, guys. The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him. He saw him coming toward him. He said, look, behold, look guys, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. This is the dude who's going to remove every bit of sin you ever have. What causes poverty? Sin. What causes sickness? Sin. What causes death? Sin. He's going to take it away. Has he took it away, guys? Now, I'm going to show you something. I'm going to show you something in the scripture tonight that you're going to have to be ready to handle. Because you know, God under the old covenant established five offerings. Wonder why? He established a peace offering, a meal offering, a burnt offering, a trespass offering, and

a sin offering. Those are the five offerings under the old covenant. And he done these parallel offerings as a symbolic of grace. But I want to show you something. Go with me to Exodus chapter 15 verse 23 through 26. And when they came to Martha, they could not drink the waters for they were bitter because the name of the place was Martha. Look at verse 24. And the people complained against Moses saying, what shall we drink? Twenty-five. And he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. And when he cast it into the water, the waters were made sweet. There he made a statue and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them. Now what did he do? He took a tree and cast it into the water. What did it do to the water? Now remember that. Made the water sweet, right? And because of that, they could drink the water. Remember, he was a sweet-smelling Savior's sacrifice to the Father. And said, if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments, keep all His statutes, I'll put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you. We know the rest of that story, right? Well, let's go on to Numbers chapter 21. And the Lord sent fiery serpents upon the people, and they bit the people, and many of the people of Israel died, seven. And therefore the people came to Moses and said, we have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord that he'll take away the serpents from us.

So Moses prayed for the people. Why didn't Moses pray before they came to him and told him to pray for them? Moses was the intercessor, wasn't he? Moses was the one standing in the gap, wasn't he? Now it looks like God did this, but He didn't do this. It was the law that permitted this to happen. Because of your disobedience, things had to come based on what you did. If you did good, you got good. If you did bad, you got bad. Some of y'all still living in that. That's why you can't receive the favor and blessings of God because you've done so much bad and you think he ain't forgot it. He's forgot it. Eight. Then the Lord said to Moses, make a fiery serpent, set it on a pole, and it shall be to everyone who is bitten. When he looks at it, the word looks, there's the word gazed. Now watch this, watch this, watch this, watch this. I want to go back to John 129. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Now the word behold in the actual Greek is the, I mean, is the very same Hebrew word as the word looks here and the word gaze. In other words, he said I want you to look. Behold the Lamb of God. If you look at that dude right there, he'll take away your sins, man. This man's gonna take away the sins of the world. And then he said to make the fiery serpent, he said, ever who looks at it or gazes upon it shall live. Same parallel. Look at verse 9. Stay with me guys. So Moses made a bronze serpent. Bronze always means judgment. And he put it on the pole and it was as if the serpent had bitten anyone. When he looked, there's that word again, when he gazed at the bronze, the judgment serpent, he lived. Pole represented the cross, bronze represented the judgment. What that was is a parallel of Jesus hanging on the cross. And when the serpents bit the people, if they would gaze and not look at where the serpent bite took place, but they would look on the cross, they would see Jesus and that would override what had happened to them. Let me tell you something. Jesus overrode what's happened to you in your life because of your sin and your defunctions and your obstacles in your life and your mistakes and your decisions you've made. And he's delivered

you, baby. And I'm telling you, supernatural favor wants to come to you, but you're not ready for the supernatural favor because you're thinking that, you know what, I got to be good, do good, not good, and to have good and live good and stay good. You can't do any of it. It's all about God's marvelous grace. Now I want you to go, I want to show you something here. So we see here he made five offerings in the Old Covenant. This is powerful now, you need to listen to me very carefully. There was five offerings in the Old Testament, the peace, the meal, the burnt, the trespass, and the sin offering. Sin offering is that you lay your hands on the lamb and your sins are transferred into that innocent lamb. Now you don't understand this, you laid your hand on the lamb and the sins that you had in your life was transferred into that lamb. Now watch this, the lamb must die because of your sins have been transferred to the lamb. The lamb dies bearing your sins and you go free. In other words, I want you to get a picture of this. You put your hands on the lamb and all the sins that were in you were transferred to that lamb. Now they had to go off and kill that lamb because your sins were in that lamb. For you to be free, there had to be a death. For you to be free, there had to be a death. So that was the sin offering. You understand that, right? So watch this now, let's go to 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 verse 21. For he made him who knew no sin to be what? That we might become the righteousness of God in him. In other words, the sin offering, you had to place the sin on, the sins in your life were transferred to the lamb. Right? Now Jesus, he made him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God. So we see a double parallel here. There was a sin offering and a burnt offering described in this Revelation. We'll show you that in just a minute. So the sin offering and the burnt offering was both combined in 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 verse 21. You're gonna see it in just a minute. So go to Hebrews chapter 10 verse 14 and he said this, for by one offering he has forever perfected those that are being sanctified. In other words, one offering he's forever perfected. That one offering. What offering? Under the old covenant there's five offerings. Under the new covenant there's one offering. But you

gotta understand the sin offering, your sins were transferred. Now if you notice something in just a minute, and I'm gonna let you see this because you need to get this. Go to Hebrews chapter 10 verse 10. By that will we have been sanctified set apart through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Now think about it just a minute. Where were your sins transferred? Did you put your hands on it? He put his hands on you? How were they transferred? He was you. So he come to earth, took on flesh so he'd be like you. Under the old covenant the person won't like the lamb so he had to put his hands on the lamb to transfer his sin into the lamb and they did that by faith and they would go off and they would slay the lamb. But Jesus came to earth, the lamb never become like you, but this lamb came to earth and took on flesh, dwelt among men full of truth and grace and he didn't die for us he died as us. Guys you got to get this. You're free. The only thing that's holding you back is your lack of revelation to know that you're free. To know that you're free. I want you to go with me to Leviticus chapter 1. Nobody reads Leviticus do they? When's the last time you read through Leviticus. But he shall wash his entrails and his legs with water, and the priest shall burn all on the altar as a burnt sacrifice, and an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord. Now they burned everything about him, but he shall wash his entrails and his legs with water, and the priest shall burn all on the altar, a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord. Now let's go to verse 13. And he shall wash the entrails and the legs with water, then the priest shall bring it all, burn it on the altar, it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire as a sweet aroma. Now what did they do? They washed the entrails and the legs, right? Right? And then they put it on the altar and they burned it up. What does water mean? The Holy Spirit. So what they did is they washed the Old Covenant, then they put it up, and the priest would put it up as a burnt offering unto the Lord as a sweet sacrifice. So when they burned the offering, everything that was burnt up would be a sweet aroma to the Lord. Now that's what happened when they went to the Tabernacle of Moses. The priest would take the incense and he would send up an aroma to the Lord. And

as he sent up the aroma to the Lord, that's what would get him behind the veil into the Holies of Holies, into the presence of God. And that would deliver everybody, because when he went into the Holies of Holies, he had bells tingling on the bottom of his gown. And as they went into the Holies of Holies, they heard those bells ringing, they knew that their sins were forgiven. That's symbolic of the trumpet that Jesus blew when he was on the cross when he said it is finished. It was a parallel to everybody that they were delivered and they were free. So for one year, everybody was free under the Old Covenant. But Jesus said when it is finished, it was finished forever because with one offering, he has forever perfected those that have been sanctified. So everybody's been delivered. Let's go to verse 17 of that same chapter. You with me? Then he would split it at its wings, but he shall not divide it completely. Why? Because he wanted it to stay together. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. Now why'd they put wood on the fire? That represents humanity. Glory. That's why he went to a cross. That represents humanity. That's why under the Old Covenant, the Ark of the Covenant was covered with gold, which was covered underneath wood, which represents humanity and deity all in one, which was Jesus. Everything about it was him. And so we see here on the wood that was on the fire and the burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord. So when the wood would burn and the sacrifice would burn, it was for the people's sins. And it was sweet aroma to the Lord, which meant the righteousness of God. What's this? What's this? Stay with me. So the sin offering, now stay with me just a minute. The sin offering speaks, now listen to me good. The sin offering speaks of your sins being transferred to the body of Christ on the cross. The burnt offering speaks of the righteousness of Jesus being transferred to you at the cross. In Leviticus, you'll see that the five offerings, God put the sin offering last. The sin offering is the transfer of the body of Christ on the cross. He put the the sin offering last, and he put the burnt offering first. Why did he put the burnt offering first? Because you were righteous before you knew you were righteous. You were declared righteous

before you ever got here. Now watch this. Jesus didn't die for our sins. He just died for our sins. He also died as a sweet-smelling aroma to the Lord. The sweet aroma from the burnt offering speaks of Jesus' perfection, his beauty, and his righteousness to the Father twofold. You have not only been forgiven, but you are also made righteous, which was the burnt offering and the sin sacrifice at the same time. Jesus became both of them, but he took the last and made it first and took the first and made it last. Why? Those who are in Christ, I shall be the beginning and the end. I'm the first and the last. Those that are last shall be first. So you become righteous before you were ever forgiven. Glory! And so because of that, our minds have been freed from the religious and mundane life of thinking, doubt, and unbelief, and fear, and he's transformed us into a supernatural being because you're more spiritual than you are physical, and you're never gonna die, so you need to learn to think right. Now let's go to Hebrews chapter 10 verse 1. Stay with me, guys. I'm getting somewhere. For the law, having a shadow of good things to come and not the very image of the things, can never, with these same sacrifices which they offered continuously year after year, make those who approach perfect. So the five offerings under the old covenant could never make anybody perfect, right? Because it just done away with their flesh. It never done away with their sin consciousness. It still hasn't done away with the sin consciousness of the church because they still think sin consciousness. They still think doubt, they still think unbelief, they still think, you know, I don't measure up, I'm not good enough, I don't get it, I don't understand it, I don't get it. You know, I'm telling you something. A lot of times you need to be at places you don't want to be so you can hear what you need to hear. Are you listening? Let's go to verse 2. For then would they not have ceased to be offered, for the worshipers, once purified, would have no more consciousness of sin. Guys, you should have no more consciousness of sin. You cannot be born again, operate in grace, and have a consciousness of sin. Can't do it. Look at verse 3. But in those sacrifices there's a reminder every year

why you went back. You had to go back every year, do the same thing over and over. So every year you had a consciousness of sin. Some of you going back to God with the same thing every day, every day, every day. So you can't get that off your mind. Whatsoever man thinketh in his heart. Proverbs 23 7. Whatsoever man thinketh in his heart. That's exactly what he is. What do you think you are? Who do you think you are? Let me tell you something. It ain't who you are, it's who you belong to. That makes you great. You're great. Turns out I'm great. Because God created you to be born. He'd give birth to you to be a winner. He'd give birth to you to prosper. He'd give birth to you to have favor. He'd give birth to you to increase. Listen, God is always increasing. That's why the heavens are always expanding. The Bible says it is. Is life not increasing? Sure it is. Sure it is. He ain't got no choice. Look at verse 4. But it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away the sin of the world. But what did John 1 29 say? That man's gonna take it away. That man's gonna take it away. That man's gonna take away the sin of the world. That dude's gonna take away. Look, if you gaze at him, if you look to him, he'll take away the sin of the world. If he took it, you ain't got it. We are not perfect in our behavior, but perfect in our consciousness. Law demands grace applies. God, law demands grace applies. God, law demands grace applies. You're not perfect in your behavior. You're perfect in your consciousness. How do you think? How do you think? How do you think? Seriously, how do you think? You're looking for favor to follow you around? You're looking for people to bless you? Most of you are not. Let's go to Hebrews 10 19. Therefore brethren, talking to Christians, having boldness to enter the holiness, holies by the blood of Jesus. When Jesus placed that blood on that mercy seat, it was over. You no longer existed lost. So they didn't take your sins and place them on him and he went out and they killed him and that your sins were gone. He was the ultimate sacrifice, but he died as you, so you could become as him. Thank you for joining us today at Power in the Word.
