we have any ladies in the house that were at sisterhood conference yesterday let me tell you what our building has never smelled better all the perfume I can tell you men's conferences do not smell that good and ladies we want to tell you about what's happening next year Holy Rebellion hosted by Lisa Young joined by special guest Jenny Allen you are not gonna want to miss it fellas get your ladies signed up and make sure to join us next year right now we're gonna continue in a time of worship as we get ready to receive our offering if you're a guest here today there's no pressure to participate but for those of you who call Fellowship Church your church home you know that generosity is our privilege that we are blessed to be a blessing and I want to share with you some of the cool things that are taking place because of your faithfulness many of you know that we have two prison campuses here in Dallas Fort Worth that stream our campuses every single Sunday but beyond that we actually provide tablets to prisons all across the country for inmates to be able to watch what God is doing in and through Fellowship Church we just found out over the past couple years over three million people have streamed our services inside of a prison but get this over 3,000 people have surrendered their life to Jesus Christ because of it so thank you for your generosity and thank you for those of you who are going above and beyond your time to give it towards the Anchor Center we're so excited the student facility like no other we're breaking ground this summer anyone excited about that I'm biased and I'm definitely excited it's gonna be awesome but would you bow your heads and close your eyes with me as we pray Jesus we just say thank you thank you for who you are and what you're doing in and through your church thank you that you're a good God thank you that your love does endure forever and maybe some of us just need to remember that today God I pray that you remind us this morning of how good you are I pray that you would take the generosity of your people and multiply it beyond our wildest dreams or imagination we ask all these things in your son's name I wonder what if God stitched up the whole sky like a blanket just to keep us safe

what if God holds the whole ocean in his hand like it was a tiny raindrop I bet he knows everything like everything everything no one ever had to teach him he just knows every part of creation was like a painting he made and it all says God is awesome but the craziest thing is out of everything he made he cares about me he loves me he picked me he died for me and then he came back to life. Now I get to call them mine, and I am his. Come on, let's stand to our feet, and let's respond to the God who chose you, and he chose me, before we even took one single breath. That's a love to respond to, that's a God to praise. So with everything you have in you, let's give that breath back to him today. Sing this. Who thought I'd find you at the lowest place? How are you doing today? Good, good, good. Well, we're so glad to welcome you here. And before you take your seat, we just have a great day in store.

I mean, it's already been pretty amazing, right, honey? It's been amazing. Okay, are you sure? Yeah, I'm sure because, you know, yesterday, you guys let me in the women's conference. I love women's conferences. We do too. I do. I mean, the enthusiasm, the joy, the laughter, the worship, the openness to learning and growing, I love it. That's right, we had a great, great time. And that great time continues today as we get to welcome here this morning just a beautiful young couple, Sadie and Christian Huff. Her maiden name is Sadie Robertson, so you may have just a little inclination of where she's from, Monroe, Louisiana. The great Duck Dynasty. You know, we have a lot of people from Louisiana here. If you're from the great state of Louisiana, lift your hand, look at that, look at that. So many great Christians, okay. We got your peeps in the house, so. Anyway, so please give a warm welcome for Sadie and Christian Huff. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Oh yeah, they were a gift? They were a gift, yes. Or they were on sale, either one. That's right. No, no, no. It doesn't matter, I just liked it. I liked those shiny shoes. It's great to have you guys here. Sadie, Christian. It's a joy to be here. How's everybody doing this morning? We good? Glad to be in church. I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to be here. And this is my second time here, but we talked about this. Last time I was here, it was pre-Christian. Pre-that Christian.

This Christian, not pre-my Christian life. Praise the Lord. But yeah, we're so happy to be back. Such an honor. Okay, I've been wondering about this, and I might have asked you this before, but just how did you guys meet? How did that happen? That's a great intro and great story. It's a, Sadie always tells the better version of it than I did. But how we met was that I was crushing on Sadie from afar, from a while, because of the TV show. But it all- Like, wait a minute, stop. What does that look like, you're crushing on Sadie, but did you even have a clue that one day- You were a fan? Yes, well, I was a fan of the show, and I thought she was really pretty. But you had no connection? At the time, no. No, okay. Okay, but this is funny. So I didn't know this until literally our wedding week, because one of his friends texted him. It was the week of our wedding, and his friend was like, dude, I remember on the baseball field, freshman year of high school,

and you said you're gonna marry that girl. So that's really sweet. I don't remember this. I know, he claims he doesn't remember, but I love- Which I'm glad she found that out the week before the wedding and not- I know, that might have scared me. But actually, it was so sweet. So yes, he had a crush from afar. We hadn't met. He ends up meeting my sister, kind of randomly. And they actually become really good friends, and Christian's always trying to tell Bella, you should introduce me and your sister. I'm like hardcore pitching myself. And Bella never passes on the information. My sister just left that one hanging. So he was from Florida. I was living in Nashville. He was going to Auburn. Our paths were not crossing. And one day, me and my friends went on a beach trip to Florida, and their family was there. And it was actually crazy timing, because the day before, I had broken up with the guy I was dating. And I told all my friends, I'm so done dating. I just gotta take a pause on this. And they actually video me say it.

They're like, we're gonna hold you accountable. Say this out loud on video. So it was July 2nd, 2018, and I go, I am done dating for at least the rest of this year. I need a reset and all this stuff. So they get me on video saying. Now, no joke, the next day we're walking up, has anybody been to 30A Seaside area? Okay, Seaside Tower, as we're about to meet because I had been DMing his cousin, she's like, I know your sister, let's meet up, we'd love to get to know you. I didn't know Christian was gonna join. And so Christian's walking up this way, I'm walking up this way, and I look at my friend and I say, delete that video. I saw him and I was like, I regret my words from yesterday, he is cute. We were supposed to hang out the day before and she had told my cousin, hey, I just broke up with this guy, can we kind of push or hang back? And I was like, why would she tell her that? I was thinking, you know, she was intrigued by me but she did not know who I was. So I was mistaken. Okay, but I had to share one more part of the story because this is sweet. So that night I followed Christian on Instagram and a little DM popped up in my inbox. I was like, oh, he already DMed me,

this is good news for me. And so I look at the DM and actually it was a message that he had sent me in 2017, a year and a half before that I had never seen because I wasn't following him. So when I followed him back, it popped up and he was like, hey. We don't have to go into it. We do, we do, we do. It's very sweet. He's like, hey, I just saw you preach at Passion. I love what God's doing in your life. I think it's amazing. And he said, and I think you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, that's so sweet. Oh, good move, Christian. Yeah, I had to share that, that's so sweet. And then you started with the deep spiritual and then you went to the carnal. Take notes. Well, that's good. Take notes, take notes. But in the night we met, I was hanging out with her friends the whole time, so I did not want to be too overbearing. He's just trying to tell y'all he played it cool, okay? He played it cool. Okay. Now, Christian. Well, I wanted just to follow up on that because you might go into something like bodybuilding

or some weightlifting or something like that, I don't know. But while we're on this very romantic subject, dating is a big deal and we have a lot of young people in the room and what, I mean, you had just broken up with a guy, I mean, what, Sadie, are the criteria for what was gonna be a positive, thumbs up, thumbs down on a potential relationship? No, that's so good. Actually, so we host a podcast and literally one of the number one questions we get asked are revolving around dating. Like, that's always the thing. I love that you said we, that is so sweet. I know, you're my co-host. Oh, Christian always laughs because he's become such a regular guest that he really should be co-host. He always introduces me as guest and I'm like, sometime it has to be elevated to co-host. It just happened. It just happened right here, right now. But we host a podcast and we talk a lot about dating because that is such a thing, that's such a struggle in our day and I hate the way that really the dating culture is right now. And I have to say, whenever I said I'm done dating, it really was because I was not dating well. Like, I could tell y'all everything not to do in dating and Christian could too before we met.

And so I really did know I needed a reset. And I think even saying that and having that accountability of my friends was saying, even though I am interested in Christian, I'm not gonna do this the same as I've done it before. And for me, I was so wanting to get married young and I wanted to have a family young and so I feel like I was just constantly jumping from relationship to relationship, like desperate to find that one instead of just letting God's timing play out. And so whenever Christian and I did meet and we started to DM, I was very upfront, very fast, like, hey, I really do need to kind of take a minute and figure this out. So I wanna get to know you as a friend, but I don't wanna go on any dates or anything like that. And that really was so cool because he was kind of in the same boat and he had dated not great in the past either and we both were saying. We were opposite ends of the spectrum. We both were saying like, we wanna do this God's way and so let's pursue that. So we actually read Ben Stewart's book, Single Dating, Engage, Married, which was really cool to read at the start of our relationship. Whether we were going to end up getting married or not, it was just kind of setting the tone

for how we were gonna date. And we read books, we read scripture, we went through Proverbs, like we kind of just built this friendship on biblical teaching. Was this long distance? It was. So he was at school in Auburn and I was in Nashville and so we'd call each other on the phone and we'd talk and hey, did you listen to this podcast? Did you read this? And so we were having this godly conversation and by the time we went on our first date, two months into just talking, getting to know each other, having that commonality on scripture, I mean, by that time, when we went on a date, I was like, oh man, I know this is the kind of relationship I wanna get into. And so it was just a little bit slower and it was not about us. It was more about growing in the Lord alongside of each other and that was really cool. When it was the first time I had seen a man lead spiritually in a relationship. Okay, stop, take note, a man lead spiritually. Yeah, what does that look like? That is so great. How would you describe it? Yeah, so for me, I feel like I'm very, and I've heard a lot of people say this,

Heard this from a lot of girls, like we love to talk about God, but I feel like I'm very spiritual. we can talk about God easily, and then sometimes you get in a relationship I feel like I'm very spiritual. and maybe the guy's not there yet I feel like I'm very spiritual. I feel like I'm very spiritual. and so you're trying to lead that conversation I feel like I'm very spiritual. and get it going and it's unnatural. But for Christian, I remember the first phone call we had, he actually asked me, he's like, hey, have you ever heard this sermon from this person? I was like, no, I haven't. And he goes into this whole thing and he was like getting so excited about it and what he learned and what it taught him. And he was like leading our conversation spiritually and he was setting the tone of what we were gonna talk about. And then not just that, he never made me confused where he stood with me. He would say, hey, let's talk tomorrow. Or, you know, can I, once we started dating, I'm gonna drive there next week or can we meet here? It wasn't, there was no confusion. I think he was guarding my heart. I wasn't having to like work so hard to guard my heart.

He was pursuing me and guarding my heart as well. And I think that's so bad. I think so many girls are trying to lead and trying to like fight for their hearts to be guarded. But when a man is pursuing the Lord, then he can pursue you properly. It can't go you and then the Lord. That is so good. That's right, say that again. If a man is pursuing the Lord. He can pursue you properly. Okay, I hope every campus. I know we have Frisco, Fort Worth, Dallas, East Texas. In the prison campuses, yes. Right here in Grapevine. That is worth a note taking. Yes, it is, yeah, just write that down. Well, like Sadie said, I was the first man that pursued her spiritually and she was the first girl that I ever pursued spiritually. And long distance for us was such a great thing because early on, it developed this, we really had to trust each other early on. I had a crazy past of fraternity, parting, all this stuff. And was not living a godly life when I got to college, the Lord radically saving my freshman year. So all that to say, if we would have met the time, right after I sent the DM and if it would have been my timeline, it probably would have never worked out. But by the time we met, I was really following God,

really all in on that path. And because of things she had been through in the past, because of things I had been through, I had to really, if this is gonna be serious, there needs to be accountability. I need to have guys around me that can speak into things that I'm going through. I need to have mentors. So I had my pastor, I had an elder at the church who was also speaking into it. Because long distance wise, I'm here, she's there. I need to do things that build trust, that I'm not gonna be one way with you and then I go back to school and I'm this completely different person. And so the leading spiritually, I think sometimes you can say spiritual things, but like Sada said, it's, and I'm not trying to be like I did this perfectly, but the guarding the heart aspect was, hey, if I say I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna follow through with it. I don't wanna have any ambiguity in our relationship. And I think sometimes that leading spiritual, it just looks like practicality. It's like, hey, let's, it's the consistency. It's, hey, we're gonna talk. Hey, if I'm struggling with this, I'm gonna go ask my brothers to pray for me. I'm gonna talk to my friend group about it.

And it was great because I was good friends with Sadie's friends. She became good friends with my friends to where if things were, if I was doing things that maybe she did not know, I was never gonna maybe get away with it because of this accountability that I had. We weren't dating in secret. And one of the things that we always encourage young people with is if you want a godly relationship and you have to be living a godly lifestyle, you don't magically get into a godly relationship whenever you get in a relationship. If you two are pursuing the Lord individually, then together you'll pursue him, you know, together. So you gotta live a godly lifestyle first before you meet each other and expect a godly relationship. Sadie, you mentioned earlier about how it wheels off the dating whole machine is, the world. Describe that to us. Like, what do you see? I mean, I think a big thing is the problem of the ghosting situation and is he gonna text me back? I don't know, the mind games, manipulation. And then not just that, but so much online. You know, it's dating apps or social media. It never goes out of the DMs, you know? And that's what I was really thankful for for Christian.

We DMed for a little bit and he's like, hey, can I call you? You know, it's like, let's start this relationship. Let me take you on a proper date, you know? And I think a lot of people just aren't doing that and it leaves people so confused. It's such a game and people's hearts are not games to be played with. I mean, that's a treasure. And you know, the word's so clear. Like, from the heart, so the mouth shall speak. From the heart is the wellspring of life. Like, everything is coming from the heart. And so when your heart is not treated right and your heart is constantly hurting or confused or feeling this way, that's not the way it was intended to be. And it affects every way that you live. And so I just encourage people, if it's not the right one, if it's not someone pursuing, and I'm not saying it has to be the one you're gonna marry, because you gotta date someone to figure that out. But if it's not someone who is making you better, pursuing your heart in the meantime, making you a better person. then it's certainly not worth being in a relationship with. Well Sadie, I had it figured out when I was 14 and a half. You did, y'all are the ones that need to tell us that. When I saw Lisa in Sunday school, I just knew it.

Yeah, but there, I do think. I did, I did, that sounds crazy. It seems like there was such a more of a confidence. I did know it. I think too, can I, I think too with our day, with social media, it is hard because people have commitment issues. They're always scared like, there's gonna be someone else or something better. And it's like, you gotta commit. So well said. I love whenever we read a book, Mingling of Souls, when we were engaged, and it was Matt Chandler wrote it. And he said, you know, at the end of the day, you gotta figure out who you wanna argue with because you're gonna argue with someone. And saying like, no one's gonna be perfect. That's great. Like you just gotta figure out, do I want you to be the one that I'm here, that's imperfect, that I'm gonna choose to make a commitment to and love. I was hoping you were gonna say you read our book, Rating Your Dating While Waiting for Mating. It kind of hurt. Oh! Sorry. The title is really long. Yeah, that title, isn't that title great? You can tell that I thought that up myself.

I think the Mingling is probably a shorter title and easier to remember. But I do think back when Ed and I started dating, it was very simple. I mean, you met, it was like, oh, he's cute, she's cute. And we were in church. So that obviously is great. And then it was talking on the phone. And I mean, yeah, we were young, but sometimes young and dumb is good. Other times it's not so good. So anyway, it worked out for us 44 years later. Actually, this year is 50 years since we started dating. And what's crazy is when you get to be our age, you'll understand it. I don't see myself as being that much older than you guys. A little bit, but see, that's the way it is when you grow older. It's like, man, everyone else. Have you ever heard of delusional? Yeah, totally delusional. Y'all look great. You have such a youthfulness to you. Like, I've never. I appreciate it. Like, seriously, you have so much exuberance. It's like, it's awesome. Well, I think as believers, all of. We've never questioned his energy level, ever, ever, ever. I think believers, all of us should be young in spirit.

Yeah. Teachable and open. Okay, Christian, did you play sports? Growing up, I played every sport and then got to high school and just focused on baseball. And then. Okay, did you play baseball in college? I did not, no. I could have gone on to keep playing, but I ended up having a coach that, which I doubt he'll be listening to this, but ended up just not enjoying it after I got through college and then, after I got through high school and then just wanted to go on to play. Just wanted to go on to school. I think that's smart. But I did all the intramural stuff, like flag football. Yes. And you went to Auburn. Yes. War Eagle. War Eagle. Yeah. Anybody? No? War Eagle here? We're too far in time. It's been long since we've been good, so I think. I know some of your.

It's gonna happen soon. I know some of your tears, but they have some bad words, so I can't say them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a word between War Eagle that I can't say. Yeah. Yeah, War, yeah. But you're an SEC team, so we're good. I am SEC. We're good. Yes, well, and you went to FSU, right? Yep. I did. Yeah, yes, you're ACC. Yeah, but. And I don't want to say this, you know. I played college basketball. That's a shocker. But this is interesting, guys. I know you laugh at me. I laugh too. The first game I started was against Auburn. Really? Yep, yep. War Eagle. Did I win? No. All right. War Eagle. Oh, my goodness, all right.

Anyway, so. That's so spiritual. Let's keep going. Yeah. But I do love sports. I feel like, because I talk a lot about faith and fitness, and so for me, fitness is, it's kind of become something I was passionate about. COVID hit, I just graduated college. There was a lot of, I didn't know what I was gonna want to do. Life kind of hit me quicker than what I was kind of expecting, and we had to work out some things of what I was doing and all the different things, but fitness became something for me that I was really passionate about through kind of the sports aspect of things to where, so I have a thing called Four Eight Men, so physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, so trying to encourage men to train physically, to be disciplined in physical training, like we're disciplined. Not working out, training. Training, yes. Well, the idea of like, if I want to get in good shape, I'm gonna more than likely follow a plan. I'm not just gonna work out one day a week, and same with.

Do you know who came up with that term, training? Paul. Joe Weider. Paul, like in the Bible, Paul? Joe Weider. Oh, Paul, yeah. Paul is. Well, Paul is, but I'm saying. Sorry he beat you. But I'm saying. I'm talking to the gym bros out there. Joe Weider, back in the day, the father of modern bodybuilding was the guy that came up with training. He was. You don't work out, you train. So I just, when I heard you say it, I thought Joe Weider. But I'm sure he got it from Paul. No, yeah, Paul, yeah, Paul, you're right. But the idea of spiritually, if you wanna develop spiritual maturity, you're more than likely gonna have a Bible plan. Exactly. You're gonna be worshiping. If you're just doing. this on Sunday, you're not gonna have the maturity that you wanna develop, and it's the same with the gym. If you only work out one day a week, there probably won't be the results that you wanna see,

so trying to kind of find those parameters. Well, you've had great results. Appreciate it. It was really cool because we were speaking at a church, actually in Texas, and after we went to dinner, and the pastor, so Christian was funny. He goes, can we go to dinner somewhere where the game would be on? And it was just kind of a funny request because he really wanted to watch the game. He's really into sports. We ended up going somewhere that didn't have the game on, so he had it on his phone under the table, and he kept looking. He's being respectful. The pastor said, so tell me about your sports ministry, and Christian was like, what sports ministry? And the pastor kind of challenged him. If you're so passionate about this, how can this become ministry? And it was really cool because then you went on this journey of four, eight men, and I feel like one of the things Christian talks about is how Jesus always met people where they were at and related to him, like when he called Peter to be a fisher of men. Exactly. You love fishing, so how do you do this in a ministry context? You love fitness.

How do you do this in a ministry context? Yes, you do. Which I think for so many people, those things don't click. It's like, oh, I love this, and then I go to church on Sunday, but ministry is 24-7. Amen. You are a believer of Jesus. You're a believer of Jesus every day, no matter where you're at, and so it's like, if I love whatever it is, how do I do this and serve the Lord? And Sadie, that's one of the many things I love about your family. Of course, I know you're a parent, and I love the heart for evangelism. In the Christian world, everyone wants to reach people until you start reaching people. You start fishing, it gets dirty and messy, and you have to be creative and do all sorts of things, and the beautiful thing about the gospel is Jesus challenged us to fish, not catch, fish. We do the fishing, he does the catching, and it's so brilliant how Christian can take what he loves, training, and meet people where they are, and then as those relationships develop, then you have an opportunity to share with someone

the greatest thing that the universe could share, a relationship with Jesus. So true, so true. Yeah, well, I love the idea of making whatever you're passionate about, whatever your hobby is, that's your tool of evangelism. That's it. It's the same thing for you with even tarpon fishing. Thank you. With fishing. Christian, that was so nice. Yeah, that was so nice. Well, I'm being serious. If you weren't that great at fishing, you would not have as much credibility to go minister to these people you fish with. So for me with fitness, it's like, the barrier to entry is if I'm not in good shape or if I'm not strong, then my credibility goes down to people I'm trying to evangelize to. And I love the idea when Jesus called Peter, when Peter was fishing, I just love the idea of if Jesus didn't catch all the fish that day, I don't know if Peter would have followed him. So it was like something, a click for Peter. I love that. So like something for Peter clicked when Jesus did the thing he couldn't do. Yes.

So whatever you're passionate about, if it's whatever your job is, it's pursue that with excellence and then you let that be how you evangelize to people. And you know what's helped me a lot, Christian, is saying in my preaching is being with people that are far away from God, intentionally so. And I do a lot of that in different areas, but especially during the fishing season where I fish with a bunch of hell-raising, cocaine-snorting, skirt-chasing, wheels-off guys. Here's what's fascinating. We get in these conversations on the boat. It's this little boat, an 18-foot boat. We're in the middle of the ocean. It's just myself and a friend, a captain. And a lot of them are young guys. They're the alpha males. You know, they like to train and all that. The questions they ask me, so often are not the questions that a pastor would typically wanna talk about in church. What? You're talking about this and I'm thinking about that. Well, it has been eye-opening to hear and to get to know them and hear their questions. They even ask questions about controversial subjects. Homosexuality, the whole transgender movement. They'll ask about political issues and things. That's why, as believers,

not that we try to seek those things, but even the non-church, those people who don't know the Lord, are dying to hear, okay, what is, I mean, obviously, they know I'm a Christian. They know you're a believer. What does the Bible say in an understandable way about some of these issues? And it's a real opportunity for evangelism. So, here's another question for you. All right, Christian, you said that you had been a fan. Well, because Sadie grew up kind of in the fishbowl of television. And I always wondered, Sadie, just the last time that we had you. here, pre-Christian, and now, again, you are so down to earth, both of you are, and relatable, and just approachable. And we've had a lot over the years. I grew up in this world, and Dad pastored one of the largest churches ever, and every Christian superstar you can name came through. I'm gonna tell you this straight up. You guys are at the top of the list as far as being real, humble, authentic. I can tell you some stories, but I'm not gonna say it. I'm not gonna say it. But this is the thing. You've had such opportunities in your life, and one of the things, as I was driving home yesterday,

and Ed had already left the conference, and I said, honey, you know what? Just, I had said accolades about your talk, and all that, and I said, but Sadie knows scripture, and it's not, nothing against podcasts, nothing against sermons that you listen online, or whatever, it's, I said, she's read scripture. And I believe when you are a student of God's word, it shows in your approachability, because you learn to love people. You learn to let people approach you the way people approach Jesus. He was just so open. So growing up as you did, I mean, and you mentioned fear yesterday. How do you balance your approachability with a little bit of discernment, and I hope that makes sense. Just how do you navigate that? It's really good. Thank you for saying that, that's so kind. One of our life verses and our marriage verses is Psalms one, two, and three. For those who meditate on the word day and night, it would be like a tree planted by a stream of living water. And again, it's like meditation on the word, and we feel so strongly and passionate about that. And again, like you said, in the day of podcasts and social media, which I do both and love both, I think sometimes people are just getting sound bites

from social media as their word, and it's like that is not meditation on the word. You see it for one second and scroll by, but to open the book and dwell on it is what transforms your heart. But for me, growing up, and I think, I grew up in a really small town. People see our family, and it's associated now with fame because we were on Duck Dynasty, and everything kind of blew up, and Dance With the Stars, and it's this crazy thing. But if you came to Monroe, Louisiana, it doesn't look like Hollywood, okay? No shock to anyone. It's very humble town, small town, and we grew up just the most country lifestyle. We have a duck call business. So that's just setting the tone of our lifestyle. And so anyways, very down to earth. And my mom and dad led so well whenever everything kind of kicked off, and they had so many conversations with us, and they were like, hey, our life might change a little bit, but the things that matter are gonna stay the same. Our faith, our family, where we live, we're not gonna be moving anywhere. We're gonna be planted here. And I think seeing that consistency in the things that matter in my parents was so huge.

And so for me, when I was like 19, I moved to Nashville, and it was so fun, and it was just some years to kind of figure out who I was and what I was gonna do. But then I was like, you know, I miss living at home, because whenever I was there, it felt like my life is so public, and even my day-to-day life was so public. I'd go to the coffee shop, and I was recognized, and it was the Bachelorette trips in Nashville, and it's like, say it ain't, it was just a little crazy. And not that there's anything wrong with that, but that boundary of guarding my heart, I wanted to be at a place where when people see me, they actually know me for me before all that, and I actually had the opportunity in Monroe. So we moved back, and I think what's really cool is, yes, our lifestyle is a little different, but our day-to-day is so normal. I mean, we, you know, our kids, we take our kids to school, pick our kids up from school. We live in a very humble town where I work. It's in the Duck Commander Warehouse, which is awesome. We do our podcasts out of there. I have our whole team there. It's so planted in our community. We go to church on Sunday. And so I think keeping the things that, you know, matter the same goes such a long way, no matter what happens in your life,

and that's blessed us a lot. Excellent. I remember growing up, this was kind of a motto of my father. He would say on so many levels, whether it was building, he did furniture building, and he built a barn in our backyard, and just stuff like that, but he would always say, first things first. And first things first are those priorities that we have to establish. We're not gonna change our faith. We're not gonna change our family. We're not gonna change the foundation of who we are. But, I mean, as we close out this interview, we have to establish what those first things are, and that is a relationship with Jesus. And so. Maybe you've listened to this unbelievable wisdom. Christian, I don't know how you are. Sadie said she's 28. Are you? I'm 27. You're a cougar too? She's a cougar. I am. Oh girl, oh my goodness. Our birthdays are two days apart, so we're the same age for a day. A day, okay.

Well gosh, you're a cougar for a little longer than me. I'm jealous. Yeah. But I mean, the maturity here goes way beyond your years, but that's because it's a maturity in Christ, not so much of a physical maturity, and that has to be that first thing. And so I think we should begin there in that relationship with Christ for anyone who's here and you're thinking, wow, I want that kind of wisdom. I want that kind of understanding and that grounding in my life. Yeah, we've been talking just on the weekends about a bridge. We had our construction team build a giant bridge. I hate you missed it. It was from this side of the stage to the other. Oh, I saw a picture. It was massive. What we've been talking about is the gospel, and most people who don't understand the gospel, the people I fish with, and I'm sure some of the people you work out with, they're on this construction plan trying to build a bridge from man's side to God's side through being good, philosophical, religious, that always falls short. It's really a bridge to nowhere. Whereas Christianity comes along

and God has built a bridge from the divine to mankind, and that bridge is Jesus. And to be technical, 33 years it took, specifically Jesus being born, living righteously, dying sacrificially, rising bodily. So God gives us this opportunity to walk the bridge, and that's what Christianity is. It's the fact that God has built a bridge to us, and the bridge is named Jesus, and the bridge is not to nowhere, it's to somewhere, and that somewhere is someone named you. And the beautiful thing about God is he's done everything except, okay, he doesn't walk the bridge for us, but he's given us the ability to walk the bridge and to have faith. So I would just encourage, as I know you would, Christian, and Sadie, and Lisa, anyone here, if you've not made that decision, do it now. And I love to see young people make that decision. I mean, young people have their entire lives before them. It's not that we're not happy. A friend of mine, 80 years old, walked the bridge on Easter, praise God. But I mean, I'm happy, but I think I'm happier when maybe a 13-year-old, a 14-year-old does that. Yes, because they have their whole life ahead of them. And do you wanna lead us in a prayer? I sure do. Okay, good. Yeah, yeah, and if you wanna pray a bridge prayer,

you can pray that prayer with me right now, and we're all going to pray. So would you bow your heads? Every head is bowed, every eye is closed, and you just say these words with me. God, I prayed this prayer years ago, and I know many here have prayed this prayer, but maybe you find yourself here listening to just the brilliant words of Christian and Sadie, and you realize that you've been on your own construction plan. And just say, God, I trash my construction plan. I take off the hard hat and the safety goggles and the red wings and park the crane. I realize I cannot build or work my way to you. I trash that. I believe, God, just say that, I believe that you built a bridge from your side to man over sin. And Jesus lived a perfect life, died, just say that, I believe you, died on the cross for my sins, and you rose again, validating the whole construction plan. And right now, I receive you, Jesus Christ. I walk the bridge. The bridge is a cross, and we have an opportunity to cross the bridge. Jesus, come into my life. Others here, you might be,

okay, I'm young, and I've not been really dating and relating to the opposite sex, God, the way you want me to, and I just release and relinquish everything. I wanna do this your way, because after all, marriage is the second most important decision we make after our relationship with Christ. So I pray that we, as a church, and with those we have an opportunity to speak with. and talk to make these life-changing decisions. We voice this prayer in the name that is above every name, Jesus Christ our Lord, amen. And in a minute, we're gonna give you some instructions on if you did pray that prayer, how we can follow up with you and just introduce you to what it means to walk with Jesus.
