Then He spoke a parable to them:  “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one;  otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins,  and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old  wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is  better." (Luke 5:36-39 NKJV)

Jesus was born under the law.

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba Father!”  Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:4-7 NKJV)

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. (Matthew 5:17 NKJV)

Fulfill means "to cram, level up (a hollow) to satisfy, to make replete."

We should have no dealings with the Law or Ten Commandments.

For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood. (Hebrews 7:13, 14 NKJV)

His lineage doesn't line up with the Law. Jesus came out of the tribe of Judah. Every Priest that was chosen or taken for 1000 years came out of the tribe of Levi.

For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. (Hebrews 7:12 NKJV)

The change of Priesthood means a change of the Law. The thing that stops us from receiving from God is that we must qualify.

Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. (Colossians 1:12 NKJV)

I have a contract with God.

And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us. (Hebrews 11:39, 40 NKJV)

The promise is the Holy Spirit.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. (Hebrews 8:9-13 NKJV)

God wants us to remind ourselves that our sins have been taken care of. The new covenant is to be led by the spirit and not by the letter. I will, I will, I will.

So, He said to him, “Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.”  Then he brought all these to Him and cut them in two, down the middle, and placed each piece opposite the other; but he did not cut the birds in two. (Genesis 15:9, 10 

Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him. And it came to pass, when the sun went down and it was dark, that behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a burning torch that passed between those pieces. (Genesis 15:12, 17 NKJV)

Remember that the animals were facing each other and then God and Jesus walked between them. The burning torch is Jesus and smoking oven is God.

Now when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”  which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Mark 15:33, 34 NKJV)

Remember that Jesus and the Father were facing each other and then God turned His back on Jesus.

In a Jewish wedding they would sacrifice a goat and the two fathers of the bride and groom would walk through the blood to establish the covenant and if the marriage fell it was the father’s fault.

For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all disputes. Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. (Hebrews 6:13-18 NKJV)

I am to swear to myself. I am Heir of promise. The ones that will receive the Holy Spirit will be the beneficiary of the contract. The contract is between Me and Me. I am not going to lie to me or deny me. Oath and promise made to Himself.
