If you have your Bibles, turn with me to the gospel of Luke, Luke chapter five, beginning in verse one, Luke chapter five, beginning in verse one, it says this. On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in around Jesus to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, and he said he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon's, he asked to be put out a little from the land. He sat down and began and taught the people from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, put out into the deep and let down your catch. Verse five, Simon answered, master, we toiled all night long and took in nothing. But at your word, I will let down the net. Someone say your word. And when he had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish that their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boats to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats. So they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at his knees saying, depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken. And also were James and John, the son of Sebede, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, do not be afraid, for now you will be catching men or fishers of men. Verse 11, and when they had brought the boats to land, they left everything and followed him. I came to tell you today, the greatest commandment is the key in keeping all 10, and that is radical love. The title of the sermon today is the 10 commandments, an introduction. Let's pray. So Lord, we declare right now, and we declare your word is true.

Let every man be a liar. I declare your word is a lamp into our feet and a light into our path. We hide your word in our hearts so we won't sin against you. Holy Spirit, I pray that you would breathe upon your rhema word. I pray your rhema would become, your logos would become rhema, personal revelation to us today. I pray right now that you would give us ears to hear, hearts to receive, minds to understand what your spirit is saying today. Holy Spirit, we don't make room for you, but we give you the entire room. So Holy Spirit, we say welcome. You have your way. We say no spirit, but the Holy Spirit is welcome. Only you are welcome, Holy Spirit. I declare we don't make room for you, but we give you the entire room. Father, I thank you that nobody came to hear me. We all came to hear you. So today we pray with all of our hearts. Speak Lord. Your servants are listening. And all God's people said, amen. And amen. We're in a series or we're in a, uh, uh, stewarding a prophetic word on radical love. The Lord told us this would be a year of radical love. It'd be a Matthew 22 year. This would be a year that we would love the Lord our God with all of our heart, with all of our mind, with all of our soul and with all of our spirit. This would be a year that we would love God for no reason. And when you love God for no reason, no reason can take your love from him. We've been planning out a specific teaching series all year long. We began the year talking about what is radical love.

We got into a series on the fruit of the spirit. We just got done with the summer of worship or summer of love, and now we're entering the last series of the year where we're going to be teaching on the greatest commandment or the 10 commandments. How many are already excited about this series? So in Matthew 22, this is where we get our theme message for the year on radical love. It is the greatest commandment. Jesus is saying nothing is more important than loving the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and spirit. But in Matthew 22 verse 34 through 40, it says this, but when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together and one of them with a lawyer asked Jesus this question to test him. He said, teacher, what is the greatest commandment? Verse 37, this is our theme scripture. He said, you should love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, and your mind. Verse 38, this is the great and first commandment, and the second is like it, that you should love your neighbor as yourself. Verse 40, and these commandments are depend the entire law and the prophets on these two, he says. So Jesus is quoting Moses from Deuteronomy chapter six, Deuteronomy chapter six. Moses is giving a declarative statement called the Shema. This is where he said, the greatest thing that we can do is love the Lord our God with our heart, mind, strength, and spirit. This was not a part of the 10 commandments, but this was the heart posture that keeps all of the 10 commandments. For this is the foundation of the motivation for keeping the commandments. So Jesus is quoting Moses. Moses is giving this what is called the Shema right after the 10 commandments are given.

So we find the 10 commandments in two places. You'll find them in Exodus chapter 20 and you'll find them in Deuteronomy chapter five. And I want us to really understand what are the 10 commandments and not just the titles of them, but what does it mean to keep these commandments? So we're gonna spend the next couple months teaching on every one of them and breaking every single one of them down. But today I just wanted to give an overview with some simplified definitions. So these simplified definitions I'm gonna give you will not be up on the screen, but if you texted notes to that number, they'll be sent to your phone. So the first commandment is this. You shall not have any other gods before me. What does that mean? It means that God comes first and that nothing can compete for your love for God. It means that no love that you have in your entire life, whether that's person, place, or thing, could be greater than your love, your devotion, and your loyalty to God. The second commandment is you shall not have any idols. What does that mean? You don't worship anything that is man-made and nothing that you can create can replace God. Number three is a very misunderstood commandment.

It says do not misuse the Lord's name in vain or don't take the Lord's name in vain. Many people think that that means that you don't swear with God's name. And yes, using the Lord's name irreverently is not something you wanna do, but that's not what this commandment's about. What this commandment is about is using God's name for your own purposes or advantage. It's you saying God said because you wanna do what you wanna do and not what God wants you to do. It's when you use God's name and you damage God's name and you do dumb things or ambitious things in God's name. Number four is keep the Sabbath holy. What this means is you're saying no to a spirit of slavery and yes to a spirit of freedom. Honor your father and mother. This means to honor all God-given spiritual authority. Number six is do not murder. It means this, that we need to value life and we do not take innocent life. Number seven is do not commit adultery. That's saying that you need to be committed to your covenants, be faithful to your covenants. Number eight is don't steal. So that means you don't take anything that doesn't belong to you. Number nine is don't lie or bear false witness. That means we always speak the truth. Someone say always.

And number 10 is do not covet. What that means is we don't want anything that belongs to someone else. So let's just stop for a moment and let me just ask you this question. How many have broken at least one of those commandments in your life? Raise your hand, keep it high. Now keep your hand up and I want you to look around and I want you to look at the person that's breaking the ninth commandment right now. Thou shall not lie. Okay, I'm joking but guess what? Every single one of us have broken at least one or many of the commandments in our life. The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And so all of us are gonna have times in our life where we have not honored or not kept the commandment. And I wanna encourage you, despite what you have struggled with, despite the commandment that has been a challenge to you, this is gonna be a season where you're gonna get breakthrough in any and every commandment that has been challenging you. Amen? Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. I love it when things just prophetically align

and we planned on doing this series about a year and a half ago for this season of time. We didn't know at the time and just recently, Texas has passed a new state law that now the 10 Commandments are gonna be hung in every classroom in the state of Texas. So let me give you some practical advice. Teach your children the 10 Commandments. Every single day when we go to school, my children and I, we declare the 10 Commandments. We're keeping them in front of us. Find a time that you can do this with your family where you can know, where you can teach it to them. And then what's important is, first you'll get it in their minds and then the next step is to get it in their hearts. Amen? Amen. What are the 10 Commandments? Well, before there was 10 commandments, there were 613 laws of the Old Testament. Turn to your neighbor and say, that's a lot. These laws were for the people of God to follow, and they had a hard time following them. So because they had such a hard time following all of these laws of the Old Testament, God spoke to Moses right after he delivered them from from Egypt, and they're in the Exodus going into the promised land. And right before they're entering the promised land, God speaks to Moses after a time of fasting, brings them up to Mount Sinai and begins to tell them about these 10 commandments. Not only that, but God used his own hand to write them. God himself wrote the 10 commandments. That is how important that they are. Anytime they always someone like to say a man wrote the Bible, God himself wrote the 10 commandments with its own finger. We see this in Exodus 31, 18, and God gave Moses when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, the tablets of stone written with the finger of God. Now, if you study your Bible, you'll notice that this just didn't happen one time.

It actually happened twice. Watch this. So in Exodus chapter 20, Moses fasted for 40 days. He's up in the in this tabernacle with the Lord. He's up in the presence of God with the Lord. God's giving him the 10 commandments. He comes back down the mountain with the 10 commandments. And while God is writing the 10 commandments, the children of Israel are back home, breaking them. Breaking at least three and most likely four of the commandments where they're now worshiping an idol, dancing sexually naked. They have abandoned God in 40 days. They've abandoned the God that brought them out of slavery of Egypt, the 10 plagues in Egypt. The burning bush, the parting of the Red Sea. They've forgotten about him in 40 days. Moses are so ticked off, he slams the tablets down. He's enraged with the righteous anger and has to go back up the mountain and meet with the Lord and get him a second time that we get in Deuteronomy. See, God gives us these commandments and they are an invitation to be in covenant with him. They're the foundation of covenant. It's his holiness. It's relational boundaries of relationship with God. The 10 commandments show his character and his call to love God and love people. There are moral absolutism. It's God's unchanging character and standards. These are God's opinions, not our opinions. These are an invitation into deeper relationship or intimacy with God. And the first four teach us how to radically love God. And the next six teach us how to radically love people. But every single one of these commandments will impact some major area of your life. I want to say that again. The 10 commandments will impact the major areas of your life. Your ability to tell the truth will affect your relationship with your children.

Your ability to keep your covenant with marriage and fidelity will affect your marriage. Your ability to put God first will affect everything in your life. These are so crucial to the people of God and for your future. So again, the Old Testament was the law or the 10 commandments were a part of the law. Someone say law. The challenging part of teaching the Bible when you're teaching Old Testament, New Testament and using these different words is you have to use English words to describe spiritual and biblical in Hebrew principles. The challenge with that is when you're using English, it's almost like slang when you're trying to interpret. So when I say a word like law, a lot of people cringe because they hear rules. They think of the popo. They think of someone telling them what to do. They think of someone infringing upon them. Watch. And they begin to posture their hearts to resist what they don't like. The problem is, is that when you have the word law in the Hebrew, it's not rules at all. When you have law in the Hebrew, it is the word Torah. How many have heard that before? See, the Torah was not laws. The Torah literally means instructions, teaching or directions. It is not the rules of God. It's the way of life of God. So when the Jewish person heard law or Torah, they didn't hear things I can't do. They heard this is how you live so that God. Prosper you and bless you. Are you with me? So let me give you a little more simplified definition of the law. The law is God's way of life or relationship. Someone say relationship. Showing us how to walk with Him in blessing and to walk in right standing through faith. So God gives us the law to walk right with Him, but the children of Israel couldn't keep the 613 laws. So God says this, I'm going to summarize this 613 and I'm going to give you a top ten. And that's where we get the Ten Commandments where God is saying if you follow these ten, the Jewish believers would say you would be able to keep every

613 of these laws if you just keep these top ten. That is how important they are because these Ten Commandments are not only how you live a godly life, but these Ten Commandments are how you radically love God and radically love people. Come on, if you hear anything I say today, this is going to be one of the most important things. The Ten Commandments are how you radically love God and how you radically love people. Now there are two main themes when it comes to the Ten Commandments and these two themes require one response. The first theme is understanding what is a commandment and the second theme is how are you going to respond to these commandments? So we get this word command that it's used in the Bible about a hundred and seventy times depending on the translation you read. Then the word obey is used 300 times. That word obey in the Hebrew is the Hebrew word savah. It means to command, to bring order, or to appoint. It conveys the idea of divine authority in a binding obligation. In the Greek we have the word entele, which means an authoritative order particularly from God. It expresses his will for moral and spiritual conduct. So we get these words in the Old Testament, in the Hebrew, and in the Greek. We get these words and it was translated or it was brought through etymology into Latin where we have the word commandere. It was a Latin word that we get our English word commandment from. So you see in those old war movies where they're like commandere or you see in modern warfare someone might have the title of commander. It's where we see this word passed down and basically what it means is the person that you're taking authoritative instructions from. So the commandments are someone that places themselves, watch, under someone or something's authority. So a commandment is a direct instruction from God, watch, that carries his authority and is intended to guide our behavior, our worship, and our relationships for holy living. So I would summarize it to say it like this. A commandment is an invitation from God to live in a way that pleases him. I want you to get this today. Because there's a lot of people

that are rogue and rebellious in the body of Christ and they want to do their own thing and they think they could do whatever they want and Jesus is their homeboy and they're good. But here's the thing is God has preferences. He has preferences on how we act. He has preferences on how we worship and when you love God or you love someone you want to make sure that your behavior is not a behavior that offends them. I woke up the other morning and Heather was grumpy. I'm like, what's wrong with you? Why are you grumpy? And she gave me that look that all women have. They're just born with it. I don't know how it happens, but they're just it just comes to women and it's that look of like you should know. And I'm sitting there trying to get the gift of interpretation and I have no idea. I have no idea why she's upset. I can't guess. I could sit there for months. I don't know why you're upset. So I just asked her just a simple question. Why are you upset? Because it's not clicking. And she goes, you don't remember what you said to me last night? I'm like, last night, last night, last night. I'm like, we went to bed cuddling. I'm at a loss. What? And she said, you said this rude comment to me. I'm like, get over it. Forgiveness is not optional. I'm like, you're holding on to last night. What are you talking? Like what? But watch this. See, I wanted to move on like we're cool. And she's like, hey, we're not cool when you disrespect me. Hold on a second. Hold on a second. Don't be judging me in my marriage. You got your own drama. I'm gonna get to your take. Commandment in a second No, but hold up many of you want to move on with God like you're cool But you have been dishonoring You've been disrespecting

You have not been honoring or valuing what's important to God. Are you here with me today? See, it's really really important that you understand God calls them commandments. He doesn't call them suggestions These aren't suggestions for people. Hey, if you want if you think that, you know, if you don't think the murders have won that bad You know, don't murder people. These aren't suggestions. God's saying these are the things That will cause you to live for me and love me. Well, are you here with me today? Now there's a big difference between commandments and demands See because God invites us to partner with what he says are commandments But he never forces us There's not one time in the Bible where Jesus forced someone to follow them the rich young ruler that chose money over Jesus He let him go The Bible says that many fell away when Jesus was teaching about Drinking his blood and eating his flesh when he was speaking to communion, but he didn't chase after them He did not force people to follow them. Notice you are not born into Christianity You have to make a decision to lay down your life to pick up your cross and follow Jesus watch it is an Invitation when belong goes out to campuses all over Texas and they're witnessing to people and preaching the gospel to people It is not a forced conversion It is an invitation to receive the mercy of God by grace through faith that you receive this free gift of eternal Life in Christ Jesus, but watch it cannot be forced So watch this so God invites us to partner with his commands But demonic forces are the ones that make demands in your life. Oh Demons are always demanding that you serve them and you serve them or else See we see this all throughout the Bible We saw it with Shadrach Meshach and Abednego and King Nebuchadnezzar You bow down and worship me or else you're thrown into the fire We saw this with King Darius with Daniel where if you you pray to only me or else you'll be thrown into the lion's den We saw this with Jezebel you worship Baal or else we're gonna take your heads off like these prophets That we killed and beheaded and took out We see this in the in the New Testament

With Jesus where Satan took him up on a high place and said bow down and worship me or else I'm not gonna give you all these other kingdoms We saw this later in the New Testament where the disciples were demanded not to preach the gospel or else They would be beheaded and we're gonna see it again and continue to see it because there's a day where the antichrist is coming with His mark and you cannot buy and sell or trade unless you get the mark They will demand that you bow to them They will demand that you worship them and I want to let you know that our God does not demand demonic forces demands You are invited Into partnering with what he calls his commands So this commandment watch is an invitation Even though it's a strong authoritative word of command. You're still invited but true dedicated Christ followers understand there may be two options, but there really is only one and The only option is to obey God But you're given to watch this. God is so Kind we call this free will Where he loves us so much. He doesn't force us to choose him He does not force us to obey him. I want you to look at Deuteronomy chapter 28 it's probably a great verse for you to go back and and look in the notes or look in the study guide where you can continue to Steward this message, but in Deuteronomy 28, it says this and If you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today The Lord your God will set you high above the nations of the earth Look at this and all of these blessing blessings shall come upon you If you obey the voice of the Lord your God goes on to say but if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God and be careful to do all of the Commandments and his statues that I command you today Then all of these curses shall come upon you and overtake you Church your options are either to obey God or disobey God That word obey used in Deuteronomy 28 is that same word Shammah I gave to you again

That word Shammah is a much greater word than the word obey. So this word gets complicated. I use that word etymology which is the history of the word. So there's much deeper Hebrew language to our English language. So we read the word obey 300 times in the Old Testament but that word shama is in the Old Testament nearly almost 1,200 times. 1,100 like 59 times I think. That word shama. And that word shama is much more than obey. It's a wild word. That word shama but it's linked to obedience. It literally means that you are listening with the intent to actively obey or respond. It means this. The purpose of you hearing is you've already decided you're gonna obey with with whatever he says. All this is important for some people. Because some of you are always going after God speaking to you but you don't obey what he says. It's the same people that are running from conference to conference and hotel room to hotel room and YouTube channel to YouTube channel and you're trying to collect prophetic words but you don't do anything with them. You don't steward them and you don't obey them. Let me ask you this. Why is God gonna give you any more assignments when you don't obey the last assignments? Shama is this intention to obey with what God wants you to do. It means this that you've decided in advance that you are going to obey God. And do you know why we do this? Because obeying the commandments is what reflects our love for God. I want you to hear this preacher today. So many people claim they love God but your actions and your behavior deny Him. And I want to let you know today that your words do not reflect if you obey God. But your obedience reflects if you obey God. Because here's what the Bible says. Put this up on the screen. I want you to see the scripture. It's John 14 15. This is Jesus' words and here's what Jesus says. He says, if you love me you keep or another translation says you obey, you shama my commandments. See there's a lot of people that profess Christ but I'll tell you this. They really don't love Him because they do not obey Him. But watch this church. When you fall in love with Jesus you want to obey Him. See I got all these people asking me these dumb questions all the time. Like pastor how many drinks can I drink before I get I'm in sin? Where's

that line? You know how long can I look before it's lust in the heart? Pastor what are the rules for this? What are the rules for that? And if you're asking those questions or thinking those questions you are so far off. They're the wrong question to ask. It's not about what are the rules I have to do to be right with God. It's when you love Him you just want to please Him. You don't want to be anywhere near anything that doesn't please Him. You don't want your eyes not to please Him. Your thoughts not to please Him. Your actions not to please Him. Your desire is to be right with God. Watch. Not worrying about which rule you need to follow. Are you here with me today? See obedience isn't about perfection. Obedience is a posture that your heart is surrendered to God. Look at 1st John 5 3 up on the screen. Look at this scripture. Says for this is the love of God that we keep His commandments. See obedience brings the blessing of the Lord. But I want to warn you today that disobedience brings curses and consequences. I use that word with my children all the time. Consequences. And I want you to know this. That you cannot consistently disobey God and not have consequences. Do you know what that word curse in Deuteronomy means in the Hebrew? It literally means, this is wild, a divine disfavor. Last year we did a whole series on favor forever. Finding out what pleases the Lord. Living a life that the entire desire is to please God. And when you please God you get His favor. When you live in disobedience you take your life out from the favor of God and you put it into a divine disfavor or what scripture calls a curse. Where here's what you're saying is you're saying I am no longer under the authority or the commands of God. I am living under the authority of demonic principalities. Church, the commandments are so much more than do Lose and don'ts, they are the weight of life. Let me give you some practical advice today. If you are struggling keeping the commandments of God, then pray the prayer of radical love every day. Because in that prayer, you are passionately declaring, I will obey the Lord.

I'm gonna give you four warnings concerning the 10 commandments today. Number one, disobeying the 10 commandments will harm your relationship with God and your relationship with people. Those first four commandments directly affect and impact your relationship with God. Those next six still affect your relationship with God, but they really impact people. And what I need you to understand today is that they will affect these relationships. They will greatly impact either for the good or the bad. Number two, watch out for legalism. Someone say legalism. Legalism is a foul religious spirit. Legalism is when you're trying to earn God's approval by keeping rules instead of loving God and obeying Him from your heart. Galatians 3.10 says, for all who rely on works of the law are still under a curse. So watch this, legalism has it backwards. So you say, I'm trying to earn God's love or I want God to love me, so I'm gonna do these rules so He loves me. Which radical love says, I love God, so I do these things that He commands me to do and I do them from love, not to get love. Are you with me today? So watch, the motive of it is different. And if you're doing these things

or trying to keep commandments so God loves you, you will struggle your whole life. But when you're radically in love with God, you will see breakthrough because you're not doing them to earn His love, you're doing them because you radically love God. So the second caution is be careful about that religious spirit. And I'll just warn you, it's all over social media. That religious spirit sounds like someone that likes to argue. What do they like to argue about? Everything, anything. How people got baptized, how worship was, how the lights were. Is there a cross in there? What color is the cross? Where's the cross hang? If the cross is slanted like that, it's not a real cross. Jesus' cross was like this, it wasn't like this. They just like to argue about being, were they baptized in Jesus' name? Would they say Jesus? They say the Son of Jesus, because you're going to hell if they didn't say Jesus. They do, haven't you heard those dumb things before? They do all of these things, they want to argue about the dumbest things possible. And why do they want to argue? Because their relationship with God's not a relationship.

It's a rule book. So they are that, you know the person like, hey, you parked wrong, there's two centimeters over here. Your name badge needs to be changed. They are the spiritual version of that. Where they are trying to nitpick everything, why? Because they don't have a relationship with God, they have a relationship with rules. So they're trying to change your relationship with God to relationship with rules, and I would encourage you, do not waste your breath, your energy, or your social media time with religious people, amen? Caution number three, watch out for antinomianism. Your neighbor and say, what? Antinomianism is a rejection of God's commandments and living like his grace is a license to sin. Antinomianism is when you go from legalism to a license. Here's what it means. It means that you put away the commands of God, you take an unbiblical stance of the grace of God, and then you begin to live however you want and claim grace when you're really in the deception of sin. You saw, I saw this for years in the church where people preach what I would call a hyper grace or an unbiblical grace, and they would say stuff like, Jesus is in your tomorrow and he forgave you in your yesterday and your past, and you need a calculator to figure out what they're talking about, because they're like, in tomorrow and todays

and yesterdays and everywhere, and forgiveness, and so just do whatever you, do what feels right. Just be you. I'm like, what are you talking about? I feel like I'm in a new age seance. And they use biblical terms and misquote scripture, and what they're saying is this, is you can do whatever feels right. That's not Christianity. Jesus didn't say, be you. He said, deny you. He didn't say you're born that way. He said, you gotta be born again. It is not this nuance. never moving, and in fact, if you lean that direction, you're already breaking the second commandment, which is don't make any idols, which basically means you're making your own version of Christianity that you want to live. That is not the Christianity of the Bible. So it's important that you understand you cannot use grace to manipulate your behavior because even in the New Testament, watch, things are greater under grace. What do you mean, pastor? I mean this, in the Old Testament under the law, the law was don't kill, but in the New Testament under grace, Jesus says don't even have hate in your heart. So what it means this is that your hidden prejudice and racism is greater than the law of don't murder.

So the Old Testament would say you're in sin if you're murdering, and the New Testament says you're in sin if you're hating. In the Old Testament, under the law, we'll get to it in a few weeks, it says don't commit adultery. That means you can't have sex with anyone that's not your spouse, which if you're having sex with anyone that you're not married to, you're in sin. If you're in this room, you're in sin. I hope you raised your hand at the beginning. You're in sin. And you're not married in God's eyes, you're in sin in God's eyes. That's why he gave his heart in his book. So watch, in the Old Testament, you would be in sin if you were committing adultery, but in the New Testament, Jesus said you're in sin if your eyes are looking lustfully. So I have heard absolute insanity from the pulpit before. I've heard a preacher say from the stage, you can look, you just can't touch. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa. The Bible says if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it out. What's it talking about? It's greater under grace. So watch, grace does not give us a license to sin. Grace empowers us to overcome sin. Oh.

Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. His disobedience to God is rebellion, and it opens the door to demonic spirits in your life. Look at this scripture up on the screen, look at your notes, it's important. First Samuel 15, 23, it says, "'For rebellion is the sin of witchcraft.'" See, sometimes we skim by this a little too fast. I told my 10-year-old, soon-to-be 11-year-old this summer, there's rebellion in your heart, and it's witchcraft. And you're opening the doors to demonic forces in your life. That was a fun campfire conversation. And some of you are like, oh, that's kinda heavy. No, no, no, what's heavy is when they're 22 and they have the fruit of rebellion. I tell parents all the time, if you don't wanna fight now, you're gonna cry later. If you don't wanna fight for your family's hearts, for your children's heart right now, it is much easier now when they're 10, 11, 12, 16 under the authority of your roof than when they get out and you're at this altar asking for miracles because you didn't wanna fight then because you wanted to be their friend.

It's quiet in this Holy Ghost church. But rebellion is not just in the heart of young people and teenagers. Rebellion is in the heart of the spiritually immature. What does rebellion sound like? Rebellion sounds like don't tell me what to do. And if you hear sermons and you think, don't tell me what to do, don't tell me what to do with my money, don't tell me how I have to serve, don't tell me what I don't have to do, don't tell me. If that comes up in you, that is not the Holy Spirit. That is a spirit of rebellion. And what happens is you're opening up your life to witchcraft. And I wanna warn you today, do not let another spirit come and take precedent in your home because you are not willing to confront it. I'm gonna say this again. When you do not obey the commandments of God, what you're saying is, Lord, I am not under your authority. I choose to be under a demonic authority. And I know none of you are intentionally saying that. That's why I'm bringing it to your attention tonight. That is what's happening in the spirit when you choose to rebel. Again, I'm not talking about punk rock, rock and roll and tattoos and piercings and what they said in the 90s was rebellion. That's not what I'm telling you.

I'm telling you what's in the heart. It's when you leave the church service and you're talking bad about the church and the pastor and the sermon when you leave in front of your children. That's demonic. It's a partnership when you say, I'm not gonna listen to that scripture. I'm not gonna listen to that word. I'm not gonna do what God says. That is when you are opening your life up to demonic activity because you have closed your heart to the word of God. Some of you have done that. And some of you need to repent from it. And some of you need to come back to the covering and the authority of God's word today. I gave you a term earlier in the message called intertextuality. And I wanna let you know, once again, it's when the Bible is speaking to itself or clarifying itself from both sides. So it means this. If in the New Testament, Jesus was quoting Moses in the law, or the Shammah, it means this, that in Deuteronomy 6, when Moses was declaring, love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength, he was prophesying Jesus. It's not just a one-way conversation. It's talking back and forth to each other.

Why is that important? Because it didn't matter if there was 613 laws. It didn't matter if there was 10 top commandments. No one had the ability to fulfill them all. I asked in this church this morning how many have broken the commandments and everyone in this place, including myself, had to raise their hand because none of us were able to do it. And so you can get to this place where you're absolutely overwhelmed and saying, how am I gonna obey God? How am I gonna stay in right standing with God? And I wanna let you know that none of us have the ability to do it. That's why God had to send his son to die on the cross, to stand in right standing, to trade us our sin for his righteousness. And watch, Jesus sums it up in the greatest commandment. We said, I know you couldn't do the 613, put the graph up on the screen. I know it was hard to keep the top 10, but that's what the greatest commandment does is it says, I'm summarizing everything in this one thing that if you wanna be right with God, if you wanna be in relationship with God, then this has to be the priority of your life, that you stinking love him with your might, with your soul, with your spirit, with everything in you. That's why we said, watch,

it's not just about the greatest commandment. We call it radical. We call it radical love, because in order for you to fulfill the great commandment, you're just gonna have to love God with everything in you. And what I'm telling you today, if you love God with everything you have, I promise you, you will have a heart posture that will keep his commandments. Thank you. Because the greatest commandment allows us to keep the top 10, and that's radical love, when we just love God with everything we have, and then no longer does it become a challenge, but it begins to be a joy. Watch this, because we're in relationship with him. Go back to Luke chapter five. Let's close with a story that we open with. Worship team, come and join me. This is a story of Jesus' disciples, in particular, Peter. A commandment and a whole lot of fish. Jesus is calling his disciples into ministry in Luke chapter five. This is also mentioned in Matthew chapter four and Mark chapter one. This is written about 60 AD, and the focus is on Luke, Luke's gospel. Luke was a physician. He was a companion of Paul,

and he was a disciple of Jesus. Jesus is teaching the people in Peter's boat. He has to be pushed out a little bit, kind of create a stage. He begins to teach the people, and then when he's done teaching the people, he says to Peter, let down your nets into the deep. Now, Peter is a professional. He fishes for business. He knows how to fish, and even when Jesus gives him, watch, an instruction, his response is, this doesn't make sense. He says, I know fishing, and I fished all night long, and it doesn't make sense rationally to do what I just did all night again, but here's what he says. Watch this. I want you to see the scripture. He says, but because your word, I will do what you said. He said this, at your word, watch this, or at your commandment, I will obey you. They threw the nets to the deep, and they start pulling the nets in. Scripture tells us they begin to be heavy. They started breaking, and then the boat started sinking. Now, in the 80s, they actually uncovered one of these boats, and they found exact sizes of these boats. boats that they had in ancient times. And they were approximately between 25 to 30 feet long. They're about seven feet wide

and about four and a half feet deep. And these boats held about 2,000 pounds of weight each. And according to scripture, the boat began to sink. And so they had to get their friend's boat to come over. And according to scripture, that boat began to sink. So when I read these scriptures, I start asking myself, how much fish was that? And according for both those boats that hold about 2,000 pounds each before they would begin to take on water, it means there had to have been more than 4,000 pounds of fish that they caught in a moment of obedience. It says they both begin to sink. Watch this. The average fisherman would catch enough fish for his family or some for the market a day. This amount of fish is absurd and absolutely unheard of before. That's why the Bible says they were astonished at it or it's a shock that takes them from the senses they're at almost into another dimension. How did this begin to happen? I began to research how much money of fish that was. 4,000 pounds of tilapia, or St. Peter's fish is what they call it, was about $10,000 plus worth of value in one moment of obedience. He makes more money in a moment than he probably did in a six-month period of time. The boats are completely full. At that moment, watch this.

Some of us can get so focused on the blessings of obeying God, but there's so much more to it. Right after he obeyed God and he gets this blessing of $10,000 of fish, then Jesus said this. He says, now I'm gonna make you a fisher of men. Now come and follow me. Jesus was letting him know, you think this fish is a lot. You think this is significant. Wait till you start following me. I want you to hear this today, church. Jesus gave a fisherman a command. In obeying a simple command, watch, brought him into relationship with Jesus. He obeyed what he said, watch, and then he started following him. Because when you obey the commands of God, you will have the greatest relationship with him that you've ever had in your entire life. And I wanna let you know today that Jesus was not just calling fishermen in Galilee 2,000 years ago to follow him, but his words are alive today, and he's calling men to lay down their lives, to pick up their cross, and to follow him today. Would you bow your heads and close your eyes all over this place? These are not rules. These are relationship. And God is calling you through his commandments

into a greater place of relationship with him today. How will you respond? It's a yes or it's a no. But determine in your hearts today. The prophet said it like this, choose this day. Who you will serve. With every head bowed and every eye closed, with the purpose of you focusing on God. He's inviting you to follow him today. Just like he called fishermen. He's calling lawyers, realtors, fathers and mothers, construction workers, architects, musicians. He's calling you. The Bible says that they left their catch. They put down their nets and they follow Jesus. Today, would you abandon your life? Would you give him your heart? Today, would you say yes to Jesus? All over this place and everyone watching online, all of our friends. If you would say today, like those disciples, like those fishermen, I wanna say yes to Jesus. I wanna follow him. I wanna put my faith in him. I wanna be a disciple of Jesus. If that's you all over this place, lift your hand. Say that's me, that's me, that's me. If you're online, say yes, say yes, say yes, say yes. Now keep your eyes closed and I want you to focus on this. Lord right now. It's important you know this there's tons of hands everywhere, hundreds of hands.

There's no right way to do this, there's no wrong way to do this. It's not praying a formulated prayer that if you say the prayer right then you're going to heaven or God loves you. That would be that legalism we talked about. But it's a hard posture where you say God I want to be right with you. I don't want to live in sin anymore. I don't want to carry these heavy nets anymore. I want to lay down my life. I want to follow you whatever that looks like, but I believe in you. My faith's in you. I want to live for you. So we're going to pray a prayer that kind of sounds like that, but the only thing that matters is it comes from your heart today. So I'm going to ask you to repeat after me, but it's not the words, it's about the heart condition right now. So with all of your heart, all of your mind, all of your strength, pray something like this today. Just say, Jesus, I put my faith in you. Say a little louder. Say, Jesus, I put my faith in you. So now repent. Say, I repent of my sins. All of them. Say, you know what they are. Say, Jesus, forgive me. Now tell him I turn to you. Tell him I look to you. Tell him I need you. Now say this. Say, Holy Spirit, would you fill me? Would you empower me? I got goosebumps right now. Tell him, say, Holy Spirit, would you lead me? Would you teach me about Jesus? Say, Lord, I love you. Come on. Tell him about ten times. I love you. I love you. I give my life to you. I put my faith into you. I want to be a disciple of Jesus. Now would you open your eyes and look at me all over this place? If you prayed that prayer and if you meant it, would you just begin to wave your hand like this high at me all over this place? Look around. Look around. Look around. Look around. Look at the balcony. Look at the balcony. Look at the balcony. Chris, look. Look at the balcony. Look at this. Look at this. Look at this. Look at this. Look. The Word says, if you confess me before men, I'll confess you before the Father. Come on. Wave your hand if you said, I put my faith in Jesus today. Come on. Somebody put your hands together and glorify the Lord. I've been praying for you all week. I feel like there's a few people the Lord wants to minister to today. So I'm going to ask you again just to close your eyes and just focus on your relationship with the Lord right now. Don't let anything distract you right now. But as I prayed for you, I'm having you close your eyes so you can focus on the Lord and there's a sense of privacy. But there's some of you in this room that leading up to today, you have been fine with breaking certain commandments. And I felt the Lord prompt my heart to ask you, what commandments are you willingly breaking?

Where you know the authority of God, you know what pleases the Lord, but something has turned in your heart. Where you have said, I'm just going to live with it. And in fact, I'm going to embrace it. And you have embraced sin. You have willingly come to a place where you're fine breaking the Sabbath. You're okay with telling lies. You might have an affair again, if the opportunity presented itself. And today, you need the holy fear of the Lord to come upon you. I don't want to embarrass anybody in this room, so I'm not going to have you raise your hand. But right where you're at, I want you to begin to repent to a holy God. To repent to a holy God. If you want to kneel, you can kneel. If you want to stand, you can stand. If you want to come to this altar, you can come to this altar. I want you to be comfortable. But more importantly, I want you to connect with God right now, where you repent and you turn from going one direction to another direction. If you have been in a place where you are willingly breaking the commandments, ask the Lord to repent, to forgive you of your sin right now, all throughout this place, our friends watching online. I want to pray for one more person in this room. As I prayed for you this week, I felt in my spirit there's individuals that you are not willingly breaking commandments you don't want to, but you cannot stop. You have tried, you have said it's the last time, you've promised God, you've promised people, and you cannot stop. Which means this, you're bound. It's out of your control. And what you need today is deliverance. And I heard the Lord speak to me and say, this is deliverance day. And it's not about how bad you are that you need deliverance. It's how good God is that you get deliverance. Deliverance is when the Lord comes upon you and he takes off of you that heaviness, that burden that's been off of you. It's when he does in one moment what you couldn't do in years or a lifetime. It's when the burden lifts.

It's when the chains break. It's when his hand comes on you and that demonic stronghold breaks off of you. I heard the Lord say, today is deliverance day, and I don't want to embarrass you, but I want you to be free. So if you say, Landon, I need deliverance today. I need God's hand to come upon me. I want these strongholds broken off of me today. I want to partner with that prophetic word, and I want to experience the deliverance of God. If that's you, stand on your feet as fast as you can and lift both your hands to heaven. And I'm going to pray over you today. I celebrate you for standing. I celebrate you for your boldness. I celebrate you for your passion. I celebrate you for your love for God. So if your hands are lifted, just begin to love on the Lord all over this place. If your hands are lifted, just begin to tell him how much you love him. Saints, if you've got a prayer language, use it right now. Nobody's prophesying, but just begin to love on the Lord all over this place. So I declare right now, let the love of God begin to break chains. Let the love of God begin to break strongholds. Let the love of God come down and rest upon you. I pray right now that that demonic stronghold be broken off. Now, here's what I heard the Lord say to do. If your hands are lifted, lift them as high as you can and just begin to tell the Lord yes. Just begin to tell the Lord yes. Just begin to submit to the authority and the lordship of Jesus. Yes. Yes.

I say yes to you. I submit to you. I submit to your lordship. I submit to your sovereign grace. I submit to the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. So I pray right now for my friends that are lifting their hands. I feel strong in my spirit. There's more of you that need to stand. And this doesn't mean you're bad. It means you need breakthrough. So if you need breakthrough, I would beg you do not leave today without this breakthrough. Do not leave today without an encounter from God. So I pray right now in Jesus name, if you've got a prayer language, use it. I pray for deliverance day. I pray for that sweet touch of the Lord. I'm not prophesying in tongues. This is my prayer language. Jude 1 20 says build yourself up in the holy of faith. Paul warns not to prophesy unless wise words or interpretations or our prophetic unction comes. And so when you pray in the Holy Ghost, prophetic unction comes. So I declare right now by the spirit of the Lord, I declare, let that oppression break off you right now. I pray right now, let that shame break off of you right now. I declare, let that anxiety come off you right now. I declare right now that that bondage come off you right now. I pray, let that addiction come off you right now. I pray that demonic entanglement come off you right now. I pray that spiritual harassment come off you right now. I pray that tormenting spirit on your mind that would try to make you feel like you're

crazy or make you feel like you're double minded. I pray let it come off you right now, and I pray with the authority that you've given me Lord, I declare right now power, love, and a sound mind over the people of God. I declare power, love, and a sound mind over the people of God. I declare right now power, love, and sound mind over the people of God, and I declare where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all over this place, lift your hands and breathe in the freedom of God. Breathe in the presence of God. Breathe in the power of God. Breathe in the healing anointing of Jesus Christ today. In a church of thousands of people, you came up by yourself and lifted your hands. How old are you? 12? So this is wild. Turn the piano down to my ears, please. When I was 12 years old, I had a moment like this. I was sitting on the front row of my dad's church, and I felt like I was supposed to come down and do what you did. But I thought that I would embarrass my dad if I did it.

I told him after the service. My dad said to me, you'll never embarrass me obeying the Lord. He said, son, always obey the Lord. And that same sanctuary met the Holy Spirit. I would sing this song that we're singing right now. When I was your age in that sanctuary, I met the Holy Ghost in that sanctuary. I got baptized in the Holy Ghost above that sanctuary, and my life was marked forever. I felt the Lord say, lift your hands, young man, that the anointing of God that came on my life will come on yours. So Lord, I pray, would you mark this 12-year-old for your purposes. I pray even like a Samuel that would go away and be dedicated to the things of the Lord. I declare over you, young man, that the Lord is gonna begin to draw you away from things in life that most kids want to do and enjoy doing. He's gonna set you apart for kingdom business. I pray that you would hear the Lord more clearly than any 12-year-old on the planet. And I pray that you would help other children begin to hear the Lord. I pray the word of the Lord over you that you would not let people despise you of your youth, but I pray that you would set an example, let your face be an example,

let your love for God be an example. And I pray right now, let a hedge of protection come around him. I pray, let nothing harm him. I pray, let the enemy's plans be diverted right now in Jesus' name. Lord, I pray right now, as he hears your voice, I pray, let a godly confidence begin to grow in him. I pray, as he hears your voice, I pray he learns how to repeat your words. Father, I pray, let a boldness and confidence come that he says what you say to him and he just repeats it. They're not his own words. So Father, I pray right now. I feel like the Lord's gonna speak to you in dreams. And then after you dream, he's gonna talk to you about the dreams. Lord, I pray, let your sweet presence stay with this boy. Teach him how to abide, even at 12 years old. Father, would you bless him today in Jesus' name. Come on, lift your hands all over this place. Come on, one more time. Lift your hands, lift your hands, lift your hands, lift your hands, close your eyes tight. I want you to think about where you first met the Lord. I want you to think about where you first met the Lord. Right now, think of that moment. How old were you? Where were you?

What happened? What did he say? The first time where there was a holy awe. You said, God, is that you? Well, you felt him.
