Rebellion: The Introduction to Witchcraft | Landon Schott | Mercy Culture Church

We're excited for what God's doing. If you want my notes, you can text notes to the number that comes on the screen and or you could text grow for the grow guide. I really suggest that you text it because in the middle of me exposing witchcraft and demonic activity last service, the power went out and I don't know if you saw on social media. I kid you not. No power went out in Fort Worth. There was nothing wrong with the grid. The only thing that went out was our church and the middle of my sermon last service. Now we're broadcasting live to all of a mercy culture campuses. So that means no sermon went out and every campus pastor grabbed the mic and just started going preaching. This is wild. I'm in between services last service and someone, one of the pastors came up to me and said there was a kid in children's church where they, they went to go hand him a flag and said, Hey, do you want a flag during worship? Because how many know we're charismatic and that's what we do. And the kid said, no, because the powers are the, the, the lights are about to go out because the wind is coming. And a few moments later, the power goes out in our building only. How many ready for the word today? Numbers chapter 13, beginning in verse 27 numbers, chapter 13, beginning in verse 27, it says, and they told him, we came to the land in which that you sent us. It flows with milk and honey. This is the fruit. However, the people who dwell in the land are strong and the cities are fortified in very large. And besides, we see the descendants of Anak there, the Amalekites dwell in the land of Negev and the Hittites and the Jebusites and the Amuzite Amorites dwell in the hill country and the Canaanites dwell by the sea along the Jordan. But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, let us go up at once and occupy it for we are well able to overcome it. And then the men who'd gone up with him said, we are not able to go up against the people for they are stronger than we are. So they brought the people of Israel, a bad report. Someone say bad report and the land they had spied out saying the land through which we have gone to spy out is a land that devours its inhabitants. All the people that saw it are rare in great height. And we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak who come from the Nephilim. We seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers. So we seem to them. Now we're going to jump ahead to verse or chapter 14, verse one. So it says this, then the congregation raised

a loud cry and the people wept that night and the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said that we had died in the land of Egypt, or would you have died in the wilderness? Why is the Lord bringing us into this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and little ones will become prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt? They said this to one another, let us choose a leader and go back to Egypt. Now look at this in verse nine says this only do not rebel against the Lord. Do not fear the people in the land for they are like bread to us. Their protection is removed from them and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them. I came to tell you today that submission breaks the back of rebellion. The title of this message today is rebellion. The introduction to witchcraft. Let's pray. So father, we declare right now your word is true. Let every man be a liar. I declare your word is a lamp into our feet and a light into our path. We hide your word in our hearts so we won't sin against you. Holy spirit. I asked you to breathe upon your word. I pray your written word, your logos becomes personal revelation to us today. I pray right now. Would you give us ears to hear hearts to receive minds to understand what your spirit is saying through your word. Now we pray today. No spirit, but the Holy spirit is welcome in this place. I say every foul spirit, you must go. Holy spirit come rule and reign. Father, I thank you. Nobody came to hear me. We all came to hear you. So now we declare, speak Lord. Your servants are listening. We pray this right now. Holy spirit. We don't make room for you, but we give you this entire room. And Jesus body name, all of God's people said, amen. And amen. Well, we are stewarding a prophetic word that this is a year of encounters and visitation. This is an Exodus year. This is a year where we will find ourselves on Holy ground. This is a year where we, we determine our daily encounters, but the Lord chooses our Holy visitation. I believe that we are going to experience Holy visitations this year. We've been teaching for the entire year, preparing for this season that we're coming into right now. Earlier this year, we talked about the different ways that you can connect with God and to prepare your daily encounters. We intentionally taught on prayer all summer long, and now we're entering a season where we're teaching on spiritual warfare. So from now to the end of the year, we're going to be discussing spiritual warfare. We're going to be teaching on topics of demons and principalities, spirits like fear, Jezebel, mammon, python, orphan spirit, familiar spirits.

We're going to be exposing temptations and strategies of the enemy. We're going to be talking about strongholds that hold on to people. What are strongholds? It's when you let go of something, but it's still holding on to you. And today we're going to be dealing with rebellion that opens the door to all witchcraft in your life. Now, some of you might say rebellion, isn't that more for kids and teenagers? And I'm glad you asked because rebellion has made its way all throughout the church. You might just not realize it. How many like Dude Perfect? Anyone ever see Dude Perfect videos? Dude Perfect has these things called stereotypes where they just kind of, you know, jokingly make fun of like real actual things that take place in people's lives. And so I made some church stereotypes for you of rebellious people. So let me bring a few of them to you. Have you ever met refund Ralph refund? Ralph doesn't tithe, but love sending you YouTube videos that tithing is in biblical. He gave $37 to the church one time and really wants it back after he discovered the church supports Israel. That's actually a real thing that took place at one of our campuses. Have you met Louie, the leadership student? Louie's been to three different leadership schools in five years. Louie leaves every time he's challenged by authority. Louie wants to be a leader, but refuses to follow leaders. Louie loves to say God told me, but he just doesn't ever do what God told him to do. Have you met Podcaster Patrick? Podcaster Patrick doesn't actually attend the church, but he is deeply concerned about it. His real pastors are three podcasters and two YouTube theologians. He's never met these podcasters. He doesn't know who their accountability is, but he loves that they demand the accountability for everyone else in the body of Christ. Have you ever met Prophet Pete before? Pete introduces himself as a prophet. His business card and Facebook profile confirms it. Every Sunday, he's hoping that the power goes out or the video announcements like Tinder, so he could jump up and give his my little children prophetic word. Pete always has a word for the pastor, but he's always frustrated that someone asked him to submit it. Pete's real ministry though happens after church in the parking lot. Have you ever met Prophet Pete before? How about permanently offended Paul? Paul has never not been offended. He's convinced every sermon in every social media post is secretly about him. He always needs just one more meeting to explain in great detail how the church is wrong this week. Whenever you challenge Paul that he may be offended, he is adamant that he's not offended. Have you met third

times a charm? Charlie. Charlie has left every church in your city, including yours. He's actually actually left your church twice already. He still hasn't found a church that really preaches the full gospel. Charlie has never invited anyone to church, but tells everyone why he leaves churches. Charge. Charlie is frustrated. You didn't notice him leaving the last two times, so he's back for six months, just so you notice when he leaves again. How about I need answers? Alan. Alan is the personal auditor of the church. He has lost lots of questions, and he's very concerned about the direction of things. Church leadership has already met with Alan multiple times, but his questions never seem answered because he doesn't like the answers he gets. He really just wants to know one thing. Who can tell the pastor? No. Or my favorite. You've met her. We've all met her online. Jesse. Jesse is the biggest fan of the church until she is it. You're the greatest pastors. This is the greatest church ever until it's not. Now this stay at home mom turned social media executioner is the first in the comment section of every negative post about the church. She knows the algorithms of algorithms of church gossips more than she knows her kids activity schedule. She always is here if anyone ever needs to talk. Three things in life are certain. Death taxes in Jesse in the comment section. You're not laughing because you know them. These are all signs of rebellion and rebellion opens the door to witchcraft in your life. So let's talk about witchcraft and spiritual warfare. What is spiritual warfare? Spiritual warfare is the spiritual war over what rules man. It is an attack on your soul. Ephesians 6 12 says, for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authority. is against cosmic powers, this present darkness, against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places. Church, I need you to know this, that witchcraft is real. Spiritual warfare is real. Last service was proof that it is real, but I'm telling you right now, spiritual warfare always comes to come against what God wants to do. I'll give you an example. A couple of years ago, as an elders of mercy culture, uh, pastor Jasmine and, and some of the elders, we were at a prayer house in DC praying if we should start the church. So I'm on a 40 day fast and I'm asking the Lord, does he want a church in DC? So we're all in this fast. We go in this prayer room and I just said out loud, I was like, Lord, do you want a church in DC? And as soon as I said it, I had a vision. Now a vision is

a spiritual daydream where you start seeing things in the spirit. And so I have this, this vivid vision. And in this vision, I see Jezebel in the form of a snake trying to make her way into the white house. And I see her slithering around the white house twice. And I see the hand of the Lord preventing her from entering the white house. Now I felt in my spirit, in this vision, the first time she slithered around was Hillary's, uh, presidency campaign. The second time was Kamala's and I saw the hand of the Lord, keeping her out. Now in the vision, all of a sudden it zoomed in and I see Jezebel's neck and her neck is the neck of a snake or a Python come out of this vision. All of a sudden people start having prophetic words. God speaks to us to plant this campus in DC. We obey God and we move on. I get back from DC and I come home and I don't like telling this part of the story because it feels wimpy, but I don't know how else to explain it. But I'm, I'm asleep at night. I'm in my home. It's about two in the three in the morning. And I wake up with what feels like a panic attack. I don't like saying a panic attack, but I don't know else to how to explain what I felt. I woke up, I have this rush of anxiety. I can't breathe and it feels like there's hundreds of pounds on my chest and the thoughts go through my mind. Do I call nine one one? Do I wake up Heather or do I go pray? So I chose door number three. I get up out of my bed. I go to the place where I do my daily encounters when it's too cold to run. I get down in front of my fireplace and I just begin to worship the Lord. I pray in the Holy ghost. I felt the peace of God come. And, and, and, and then I, I text all the elders when it got early enough to text everybody what took place and, and, and I go to the office and, and I have a blood pressure medicine in my office or one of those things that you put on your arm and I just checked my blood pressure. And when I checked my blood pressure, it was one 70 over like 80 when I checked it. Now, if you're unfamiliar with blood pressure, that means you should probably be thinking about going to the hospital right about that Mark. And I physically felt these effects. Now I do everything in the natural. I make sure that I, I talk with my doctor, how's my, my, my, my blood sugar, cholesterol, all the different things, take, take blood samples and get my blood checked. And I do everything in the natural, but I cannot deny that the couple of days prior I'm in DC have this vision and I see a vision of a snake. And then all of a sudden I get a text message from one of the elders and said, the moment

I read your text of what happened, I heard in my spirit Python. Now I'm going to be teaching later this month on what the Python spirit is and how it comes to suffocate the life or the breath of God or the Holy spirit out of God's people and his church. But here's what I want you to know is that when you feel these effects of witchcraft, the purpose of it is to stop you from doing what God's called you to do. Because I want you to notice this. You never have spiritual warfare doing your will. Spiritual warfare comes when you begin to do the will of God. I'm telling you demons live in DC. Now I've been in ministry for a long time. I was evangelist for 10 years and I've been pastoring now for seven years. And every pastor thinks that, you know, there's the most warfare in their city. I'm telling you the greatest warfare I've ever felt is over the city of DC. I want you to know this. We've already been kicked out of multiple buildings in DC. We got kicked out of the theater that we started the church in because they found out who we are. They found out we're spirit field, non-woke and not playing the church games. I've been warned by pastors in DC. Hey, you got to be careful when you come in DC because there's Democrats mostly in DC and you're going to upset those people. If you come in, so you've got to just tone it down. And now I've watched the church lose ground in cities like DC and all over America, because they're going to tone it down. I'm telling you what, we are not going to tone it down. We're going to light a fire of the Holy ghost, set ourselves on fire and let the city watch us burn. They can kick us out of every church in the city. We'll do church like they did in old times in the Capitol if we have to, but we're going to have a spirit field church in DC. We've got the same problems with our church in Austin. And you know what they do? They run to the suburbs because it's an easier place to plant a church. Why our cities have gone to hell because the people of God have abandoned the territory God has called us to take. I've watched for years the church not lead in spiritual warfare in the right way. So I'm going to give you right now three mistakes the church is constantly making, Christians are making, when it comes to spiritual warfare. You ready for this?

Number one is they don't want to be over-spiritual. Who have heard someone say that before? I don't want to be over-spiritual. Come on, wave your hand if you've heard someone say that, okay? So you've seen this. So you've seen people make this mistake. I just want to stop and pause for a second. You don't want to be over-spiritual. But the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10.4, the wages of our warfare are not of the flesh. So it warns us that these are heavy things that we get into. But divine powers to destroy strongholds. So hold on, let me see. If you are a follower of Jesus, let me see your hands. You have faith in Jesus, you follow Jesus, okay? Great, awesome. So you believe, now we can differ a little bit on theology, but you believe that the Holy Spirit impregnated a teenage virgin girl. After having sex, she gave birth to a sinless savior who did countless miracles, walked the earth for 33 years, then he died on the cross for your sins and mine. He conquered sin, death, and the grave. He raised from the dead, he ascended to heaven, and one day he's coming back for you and me. You believe that? Okay, hold on a second. You believe that, but you don't want to be over-spiritual. I assure you, the problem with the American church is not your over-spirituality. The problem with the American church is your carnality. The problem with your church is you've been sitting it out far too long, and the enemy has taken over cities and families and regions because the church doesn't want to be over-spiritual. Now, typically, what you mean when you say, I don't want to be over-spiritual, is you're basically saying, I don't want to be weird.

And I understand that. That brings me to point number two the church is making. It's over-infatuation or an unhealthy obsession with spiritual warfare. I see this constantly in the church. Let me tell you like this. If everything you do is spiritual warfare, you're weird. Go ahead and elbow your neighbor just so they know that you're maybe thinking about them. Hold on. If you always know what demons are doing, there's a good chance you don't know what God's doing. And this is what happens when there's an unhealthy infatuation, is you get distracted by pretend spiritual warfare, and you're not ready to deal with real spiritual warfare. Let me give you some practical advice. Ask the Holy Spirit for the gift of discerning the spirits that are found in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, one of the gifts of the Spirit. If you want to grow in your ability to discern spirits, ask the Holy Spirit for this gift. I want you to hear this today. You need to prioritize knowing what God is doing, not what the enemy is doing. Number three, improper or unwise or foolish spiritual warfare. We're going to teach all month long on strategies of spiritual warfare. How to practically do this, what works and what doesn't work. We're going to teach you how to engage and how to respond. There's a sermon we're going to be preaching at every Mercy Culture campus called Unseating Principalities, which is just an entire strategy of how you engage and win in spiritual warfare. So let's get into the teaching today. As I teach, I want you to understand these biblical terms. So when I say things like demons or principalities, you know what I'm talking about. So what is a demon? Demons are evil spirits that oppose the will of God and seek to destroy people through deception, bondage, and rebellion.

Demonic means this, that you are influenced or empowered or caused by an evil spirit. So when I say something is demonic, I am saying it is influenced, empowered, or caused by an evil spirit. Now, this is about the time the power went out last service, because I started giving you some examples. Here was the examples. If you resist the building of the justice residence, that's going to help survivors of human trafficking, and you try to stop us from doing that, that is demonic. If you support biblical candidates that are trying to murder children, mainly black children, inside of their mother's womb, and you support that, that is demonic. If you have a Problem with the pastor going to prison and visiting somebody who's in prison that is demonic You say pastor, I think you just say demonic too much. I don't think you say demonic enough Because you are gotten comfortable with demons and instead of doing what jesus taught us to do and casting them out You just dwell with them. They live in your house. They stay in your marriage They remain in your children and you don't address the demonic influences from the pit of hell that you live with I want you to know something. This is important like well pastor. Do you always have to just stir things up? Jesus did Do you read your bible every day or do you just read it when it's up on the screen when I give you scriptures Hold on a second. I'm asking a real question So if you read your bible every day, I read the gospels every single day. Does anyone read the god's word? Okay That might be the next rebellious thing on stereotype. I make people never read god's word Okay So when you don't know god's word the enemy can't even accuse you Did god really say because you don't know what says to begin with so if you read the gospel You see that everywhere jesus went they try to kill him everywhere They went they try to persecute him everywhere Demons came out demons started slithering demons started talking from pigs to people to random things watch Because when he came with the kingdom of god and he brought in advance the kingdom of god the kingdom of hell had to retreat So hold on it should be a normal thing for your church to stir up demons

Demons So anytime you're like, well, I I I don't want to rock the boat. No. No what you're saying is you want to appease demons Pastor not everything's a demon. I know that's why I said number two. Don't be weird Your flat tire is not a demon. You're a bad steward. You didn't change your tires So but listen But when you're preaching on spiritual warfare and witchcraft in the middle of the service and only the power in your church and the entire City goes out. Maybe it's spiritual warfare I want you to hear this today If you do not become aware of what's demonic you will entertain them So what's witchcraft witchcraft is spiritual opposition to the will of god through the help of evil spirits Right Witchcraft comes against the will of god. I'm going to say this again. Clearly witchcraft does not come against your will It comes against the will of god and the church has to begin to recognize What witchcraft is? Now can I pass to you for a second? Would you please not be the spiritual immature person who's letting everybody know about the demonic activity on halloween? No one is impressed with your discernment Like I just feel like there's evil everywhere good for you, but how come you can't discern it when some christian's gossiping Your discernment's broken. I just really feel like they're the spirit of death. Wow No First of all The enemy doesn't get any day He doesn't get october 30th Or 31st or november 1st. Come on. Every day is the lord's day and the enemy doesn't get one But hold on If you're just weird Pastor you fan of halloween. No Don't be weird If you get distracted You won't discern real witchcraft

You won't know what the real effects of witchcraft are I was reminded when I was a a young man. I I got out of my car in a Evening and my brother-in-law skylar said to me. He's like, hey, you smell that skunk? I was like See that sniff It's a good sniff I was like, yeah, I smell it I was like, that's a skunk. He goes you didn't know what a skunk smelled like now all of a sudden I'm having flashbacks of my entire childhood all these moments where I smelled that smell I recognized the smell but no one ever told me what it was See many of you have been feeling the effects of real witchcraft for years. Just nobody's told you what it is Let me give you some real effects of witchcraft. Okay, it's not witches on broomsticks. You know what it is anxiety Pay attention Scripture says to be anxious about nothing. So let me ask you this. Does the holy spirit bring you anxiety? Okay, does the prince of peace bring you anxiety? So where does it come from? No, no, no, okay But here's the thing. So if it's not coming from the Holy Spirit, it's coming from another spirit, then why is the response of so many Christians to go to a doctor and have a doctor give you a pill to help you fight spiritual warfare? I know this isn't a popular opinion because too many of us would rather deal with pharmakia, which is a word of witchcraft where we get our word pharmacy from instead of engaging in any kind of fruit of the Spirit or peace of God. So instead of having the Prince of Peace rule and reign and sit on your life, it is easier to grab a substance to help me find peace. Pastor, I just need to relax. That's what the Holy Spirit's for. And that's what a great marriage life is for. Some people miss that. See, you need to be aware when you start feeling anxiety. It means this. There's other spirits. That's not the Holy Spirit that's around. Give an example. And as a young minister, you get all the lame jobs at the church. And my pastor said, Hey, I need you to go downtown and I need you to pray for somebody. So I'm just doing my assignment. I'm going, I got an assignment for you. Here's who, Ethan, you'll love this one. And so I'm going downtown and I walk in the building and the guy's like, Reverend, I'm so glad you're here. And I'm like 25 years old. He's calling me

Reverend. He's like, I'm so glad you're here. There's ghosts in my building and I need you to do an exorcism. And I'm looking around. I'm like, well, I don't do exorcisms, but I brought anointing oil. I'm like, how about we anoint this bad boy with oil and see what happens? He's like, great reverend. He's like, come on, the ghosts are upstairs. So we start walking up upstairs. It's like a four story building. I'm following ghost buster and I'm walking behind him and his dog stops. He had the giant husky dog. His dog wouldn't go up the stairs. He's like, see the dog won't go up there. Cause that's where the ghosts are getting a little weirded out. I walk upstairs. I turned the corner. It was this old abandoned project building that he was turning into an office building. And I started walking down the hallway. And as I walked down the hall, it felt like something reached its arm down. My lungs ripped all of the air out of my body. I couldn't breathe. It felt like an elephant sitting on my chest. I have the greatest rush of anxiety in my entire life and I could barely breathe. So I did what this church boy knew how to do. I just started praying the Holy ghost. I was just going after it and I'm not stupid. So I just started throwing oil everywhere and I got out of there as fast as I could. But I want you to see this. The Holy spirit was teaching me something. When we walked into the courthouse, excuse me, the Capitol in Austin, when we were fighting for SB 14, it was the bill to ban sex changes on minors. When we walked into the Capitol building, that same anxiety I felt in the building full of demons is the same anxiety I felt when I walked into the courthouse, when we were fighting against the perversion of trans activists, trying to mutilate our children's body and worship to their false gods, Moloch, Baal, and Ishtar. I didn't see the Halloween people there in the courthouse fighting with us. I didn't see them waging war with us. In fact, there's a lot of churches in Texas. The trans activists came in with their charter buses by the hundreds, marched in protesting with their signs. They took up all the chairs, men wearing dresses in the balcony, flipping up their skirts, revealing their genitals as Christian lawmakers were fighting to protect your children. Hold on. Where was the church? You want to talk about the effects of witchcraft? It's this demonic debilitating anxiety. How about fear? You're afraid to step out. Isn't it interesting that the moment the Holy spirit tells you to do something, maybe he's telling you to come down front and all of a sudden you feel

fear? Or maybe he's telling you to come down and get married one Sunday, and all of a sudden you feel fear. Or to go tell that person about me, and you feel fear. Why is it that you can talk to anyone about the Dallas Cowboys, but when God tells you to talk about him, all of a sudden you feel fear? Hold on a second. You have no problem talking about 40 years of losing seasons. Or my favorite to 49ers fans, 31 years ago you won a title. Hold on. You have no problem. Watch talking about anything. You are a bad man, businessman and cower like a little boy. When anything spiritual comes up in your business meeting, you shrink back and give up territory. When you have. The moment to save a man from hell by bringing a word of God to him in that moment in business deal, but you are afraid. This is witchcraft, spirit of fear, depression. Listen, you're not melancholy. You're dealing with witchcraft. Isn't it interesting? The apostle Paul talks about the spirit that was on his, uh, on Timothy's mother and grandmother. And now it's on him too, when the same people have had depression, go from your family all throughout your family and it's landed on you. I'm telling you, this is the effects of witchcraft. How about, how about chronic fatigue where you're tired all the time? Your whoop tells you you got 97% recovery, but you're exhausted all the time. How about this spirit of confusion? You're confused. Let me help break witchcraft open right now. Anytime that you are confused. I've had times where I stand up here to preach. My notes are in front of me and I can't think straight as I'm preaching because I feel witchcraft in the room. They'll tell me after the service, someone left a voodoo doll in the balcony. In the moment where I feel confused, someone just check your chair right now. Just real quick.

Just check just in case, just in case there's like a little power outlet thing, a little kill switch. See, that's, that's how I will feel. You know how you will feel it? God's minister to you. Your marriage is restored. Your kids are on fire. All of a sudden, you have one conversation with one person who operates in witchcraft and you think you should leave the church. Whoa, whoa, whoa, yesterday, this was the greatest church you've ever been to in your entire life. You have one conversation with one person that's full of demons, and all of a sudden they bring confusion to you. Now you're willing to pull your kids from the presence of God, pull your marriage from the presence of God, all because there's one spirit that's trying to keep you confused so you cannot partner with the perfect wheel of God on your life. You're so close to breaking through, stooting prophetic words, and then confusion comes. You think you're the only one that that happens to? Spiritual effects of witchcraft are chronic illness. You can't figure it out. Nothing's wrong. The doctors are confused. There's no answers to anything, but you're sick all the time and it doesn't make sense. I'm telling you, these are the effects of witchcraft and the church needs to wake up from it. So you say, pastor, how do we begin to win from this? I'm going to make it so simple. If you get anything today, I want you to get this one thing. How you win in spiritual warfare is you obey God, because when you obey God, you win in spiritual warfare.

When you disobey God, you lose in spiritual warfare. Fathers in this house, I want you to hear me. When you disobey God, your family suffers. When you disobey God, your children are going to suffer. When you don't obey the things of the Lord, you open the door to demonic activity in your family. Husbands and wife, when you refuse to get in unity and lead your family, you're opening the door to this in your life. This is what it looks like to win or lose in spiritual warfare. It's those that say yes to God or those that say no. This is what witchcraft looks like. This is what it feels like. 2 Corinthians 10 5, I want you to see this. We destroy every argument, every lofty opinion that's raised itself up against the knowledge of God. We take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience. Once your obedience is complete, I'm going to ask you, church, where are you being disobedient to God? It's not rhetorical. I'm asking you, where have you been disobedient? Because where you have been disobedient to God is where you open up the door to witchcraft in your life. In your family today, we're talking about rebellion. Why are we talking about rebellion? Because God warned us and we are foolish and unwise to not listen to the warning of God. We bring prophetic words to the church every year. I asked God all year long to speak to me about you, his heart for you in this house. As God begins to speak to me throughout the year, I'll start writing these things down that I go before the Lord. I literally physically lay before God, my face to the floor, and I asked him to speak

to me on your behalf. What is his heart? As I'm laying before the Lord in this small church in the middle of nowhere, I hear the Lord say, you're going to break the back of rebellion. This is over a year ago. I hear this warning for our house because it means this, that God must have something so significant for you in this house. But the warning is if we are not aware of this witchcraft of rebellion, we will not obtain the promises of God. What is rebellion? Let me bring it to you. Rebellion is defying God's authority and refusing to obey or to submit to him. Rebellion occurs when God's rightful authority confronts the human will and the human will refuses to submit his will to God's authority. Let me give you a simple definition of rebellion. It's very easy. It's just simply saying no to God. Every time you say no to God, you are partnering with. witchcraft of rebellion. In the Hebrew, we have the word Marad. It means to rebel, revolt, resist authority, or act in defiance. In the Greek, we have the word Apitheia, which means disobedience or refusal to be persuaded. There's another Greek word, Aphasisteme, which means to depart or withdraw or fall away. We see this in Hebrews 3.12. It says, take care, brothers. Let there be any one of you evil, unbelieving your heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. You see another word in the Greek, Apisthesia, which we get our word apostasy from, which is a great falling away from God. See, rebellion says no to God, and apostasy keeps saying no to God until you fully walk away from God. Rebellion is when you know what God wants and you still disobey him. Rebellion is mentioned dozens of times in God's word. Their initial act of rebellion came from Satan himself. We see this in Isaiah 14, where it says this in verse 13, you have said in your heart, I will ascend to the heaven above the stars of God, or I will set my throne on high. Verse 14 says, I will set

above the heights of the cloud. I will make myself like the most high. Satan wanted to be higher than God. He wanted to be the most high. And so he rebelled from God or refused to be under God. We see his rebellion goes from Satan into man. Genesis two and Genesis three, God spoke to Adam and Eve and said, do not touch the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God spoke to them, but Satan contradicted what God said. Then the people had to decide who would they obey Satan or God. You know, the story, they disobeyed God. They obeyed Satan. And we see rebellion has come into the world that the people of God have struggled with rebellion for years. You saw him in the illness, the wilderness in numbers 13 and 14, where we discussed it. And we opened the chapter, the rebelling against God. You see in Acts chapter seven, verse 51, the first martyr Stephen is being stoned. What does he say to the people? You stiff neck people always resist the holy spirit. This is the new Testament continuation of the wilderness is rebellion into the new Testament church. Rebellion has spread like a demonic cancer throughout the people of God throughout history. And it's coming for your house. I need you to understand this rebellion is witchcraft. I want to show you how rebellions witchcraft we have in first Samuel chapter 15. It says this verse 23 for rebellion is the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is the iniquity of idolatry. I want you to understand this text. There was a rebellious group of people that didn't want to follow God. So they demanded a king. So they chose a rebellious king named Saul. Saul was the king. He was a spiritual leader. He was even known to prophesy here and there, but he disobeyed God. When he disobeyed God, God brought the prophet Samuel, who was the prophet Samuel. When we pray, speak Lord, your servants listening. That was Samuel where God began to speak to him as a child. The Bible said not one word fell to the ground when God spoke to Samuel. So Samuel comes to challenge the king. When the key challenges, the king, the king's response was, well, I kind of obeyed. You're this today. Kind of obeying is disobedience. It's rebellion. And here's what he said. He said, it's the sin of divination. What is divination? It's when you seek spiritual direction outside the submission of God church. I need you to hear this today. Every time you disobey God, you are opening the door to witchcraft in your life. And I've seen so many rebellious Christians that have opened the door to witchcraft in their life. What does rebellion Christians look like? God says, forgive, but you've decided they don't deserve forgiveness. God says, flee sexual immorality, but you keep making excuses for the perversion in your life. God says, honor authority, but you honor the leadership only

when you agree with them. God gives influences and resources, but you use it to control or get your own way. The church calls a fast, but you're going to sit this one out. Again, the Holy spirit convicts you. You keep ignoring him. God's word says, honor him with your finances, but you've decided your money is yours. These are signs of rebellion. Make no mistake about it. Withholding the tithe is a sign of rebellion in your life. And depending on how angry that statement makes you proves the point. Malachi 3, 10, look at this Malachi 3, 10, the prophet Malachi is. trying to bring the rebellious people who don't have a relationship with God back into right standing. And he's addressing their rebellion and he warns them to bring the tithe into the storehouse, the house of God. This was the command. This goes all the way back to Moses. This goes back to Abraham in Mechizedek. And then in verse 11, here's what it says. I want you to see the spiritual warfare. I will rebuke the devourer for you so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil. Church, make no mistake about it. There is a spiritual war over your finances. This is one of the ways the enemy tries to come against your house in the advancement of the kingdom of God. Rebellion goes all throughout Christians' lives and it makes their way into a stronghold into people's homes. I wanna warn you today, hear me today. Get rebellion out of your home. Parents, you cannot demand submission from your children

while modeling rebellion towards God. Children need to learn biblical obedience and honor. Parents, you need to distinguish rebellion from immaturity, mistakes, question, or childish behavior. This is important. If you have to ask your children six times for them to obey, there's a good chance there's rebellion in your home. If you tell your teenager to do something and they stomp off, there's rebellion in your home. This is important. If you are not aware of the rebellion in your home, rebellion in your home will turn into rebellion towards God. Hear me, parents. The way your children obey you is a reflection of how they will obey God one day. And you are tasked as their parent to raise them up in the way they should go. I'm pleading with some of you because it is so much easier to fight the fight of weeding out rebellion when they're 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17 years old than it is when they're 20, 25, 30, and 35. And I cannot tell you how many parents I pray with at the altar that are believing God for their rebellious kids to come home because they did not deal with the rebellion that's in their home. I'm warning you, listen to me, there's rebellion in your house.

You got Netflix shows that the parents are screaming, kids are screaming to their parents in the show, I hate you. Get rebellion out of your home. What kids, what music are your kids listening to? What video games are they playing? What's going on in your home? I'm telling you, the enemy has saturated and it's not enough that they go to church for one hour a week when they're inundated by demonic rebellious media all throughout the week. I feel resistance in the room. And if there's laziness in parents, here's what's happening. What you're saying is you're saying, I'm not going to fight for my family and children. I want you to imagine this. Imagine if there was some guy kicking down your door trying to break into your house, man, what you would do. Spencer, what would you do? Spencer would rip them apart limb from limb. You would protect your family. So why are you so passionate about protecting your family from an intruder, but you're not passionate about protecting your family from rebellion, a demonic spirit that's made its way into the home? Rebellion in your homes produce a rebellious culture. We live in a Romans 1 debased mind society. I want you to see this text, Romans 1 21. Look at this.

It says, for all they knew God, they didn't honor him. They rebelled against him. They became futile in their thinking. Verse 22, claiming to be wise, they became fools. They exchanged their faith for their own. They became foolish in their thinking. They became foolish in their thinking. They became fools. They exchanged the glory of God for immortal God, for images resembling mortal man, birds, animals, and things. Therefore, God gave them up to their lusts, their impurity, dishonoring their bodies for one another. Because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, they worshiped created creatures rather than the creator. Verse 28 says this. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, he gave them over to a debased mind of what not to be done. A debased mind or a reprobate mind is a mind that could only think of evil or invent new ways for evil. Church, this is the society that we live in right now. The WNBA cannot figure out what a woman is. These aren't dumb people. These are great business leaders. These are brilliant people. How can you be that foolish? Because it. It's a demonic spirit, it's made its way in. So now you can identify as whatever you want, when you want, there is no reason to it. It's inventing new ways of evil. I'm telling you right now, we have people resisting what is good and embracing what

is evil. Do you know that our church in DC has been kicked out of multiple places? We've been kicked out simply for standing on God's word. This is normal in our society. We have right now a candidate running for office named James Telerico, who is demonically influenced. He wants your children to be indoctrinated with perversions. He says statements like God is non-binary, and I've seen pastors endorse him from the pulpit. Do you know why? Because they're not pastors, they're not churches, they're sex cults. They're a for-profit arm of a political party that is trying to keep our world in bondage. This is what it looks like when rebellion rules. This is what it looks like with rebellion in the culture, is the world doesn't make sense anymore, but it goes from the heart of a man into a family, into a culture. So church, how do we break the back of rebellion? The same way Jesus did through submission. Submission is a strategy of spiritual warfare. Every week when we teach, we're going to give you strategic biblical ways to really practically fight spiritual warfare and submission is a strategy of spiritual warfare. What is submission? Submission is letting God's will win over yours. The word submission literally means to subject yourself lower or under authority. That's why we call them submarines, sub, lower marine water. What you are saying is I'm going to place myself under an authority that's greater than I. I'm going to submit myself to an authority that is God's word. See, when you submit yourself to God's authority, God begins to deal with the demonic harassment on your behalf because watch, it's not you dealing with demons. It's God dealing with demons and he's really good at dealing with demons.

It's not you figuring out witchcraft. It's the king of kings expelling witchcraft from your life. It's you submitting to a higher authority, a greater power and a greater kingdom and he does it for you. Let me show you. James 4, 7. You know the scripture. It says, submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Now stop for a second. I want to teach you this. There's so many people that all you've tried to do for years is resist the devil and you're like, Landon, it's not working. No, because that's not what scripture says. It didn't tell you to spend the last five years trying to build up your willpower, trying to figure it out, trying to white knuckle it and push way through that you're going to deal with this witchcraft. You're going to deal with this warfare. You're going to deal with these demons. That's not what the God's word says. It said to do the one thing you've been resisting doing for the last 10 years of following Jesus. Submit. Let me ask you a real question. Even when I said the word submission, how many got like low key trauma? Why? Because if you're the enemy and you know the strategy against you, wouldn't you do everything in your power to keep the people of God from doing the one thing that will reverse his effects in your life? So what does he do? He tries to keep a wife submit, not unsubmitted to a husband, a husband, not in unity and not submitted to the bonds of their marriage to keep a husband, not submitted to the Lordship

of Jesus and the word of God to keep a people of God, not submitted to their leadership. That's why there's so much church hopping and people running around submission. I won't submit to my leaders. I won't submit to God's word. I won't submit to the police. I won't submit to the authority. I won't submit to the laws. So now we have lawlessness because we have a nation of people that refuse to submit to anyone or anything. Scripture says, submit to God. Watch. Then you resist the devil. Maybe your spiritual warfare hasn't worked because you got the priorities wrong. When you begin to submit your will to the Lordship of Jesus, remember what's witchcraft. It's a war against the will of God to the help of evil spirits. All of this is about one thing, the will, and guess what? You don't have to want to do it You know what you call that? flesh Do you know my flesh hardly ever wants to forgive? My flesh hardly ever wants to apologize my flesh hardly ever wants to humble myself You know majority the things that I need to do that the Bible tells me to do that I need to submit to my flesh doesn't want to don't you realize that's the battle against the flesh in the spirit It's the one that you feed the most or the one that you obey Jesus had to do this And he taught us When he was in the Adam was in the garden. He didn't submit to the Word of God So then the second Adam is in a new garden and he's praying and Jesus is praying right before he goes to the cross What does he say father is there any other way, but what not my will? But your will be done

I'm telling you the strategy of spiritual warfare is you submitting to the Word of God in the will of God and if you will submit this if you will submit your life to the Will of God in the Word of God. I'm telling you you will break the back of rebellion in your life Let me give you some practical advice pray the Lord's Prayer every single day We just taught it in our spiritual warfare season Pray the Lord's Prayer every day And after you pray it ask the Lord to change your heart to want his will We're gonna close with our story in Numbers chapter 13 and 14 This is a story of spies Giants in rebellion Moses authored the book of Numbers. This is an account of Israel's wilderness journey one year after their exodus from slavery in Egypt Israel's fear was culturally understandable but theologically inexcusable Israel's only one year out of slavery and Already wanting to go back into slavery God delivered Israel from slavery in Egypt defeated Pharaoh divided the Red Sea Provided food and water revealed himself on Sinai led them by his presence and promised them a new land That wasn't enough for a people of rebellion They get to the edge of the promised land and Moses sends out 12 spies And according to God's Word ten of them come back with what Scripture calls a bad report Now they brought the fruit of the land the spoils of the land Because God said it's a land full of milk and honey. It's full of good things. It's your promised inheritance They're still fighting over that promised inheritance today God said it's Israel's Despite God giving instructions and God providing and God being with them

Ten spies came back watch and they had rebellion in their hearts So they came with the bad report not about just a land but the bad report was about God They said there's giants in the land They're stronger than us They're bigger than us. They're more mighty than us. We're like grasshoppers in their sight And they came back and they begin to take that bad report and they spread it into an entire community Do you know why because rebellion is contagious? Now this is wild Because Because they had rebellion in their hearts watch this They thought their problem was Giants, but their problem wasn't Giants. Their problem was rebellion Watch this God said I will give you a promised land that has giants in it and I will give you the power to defeat them But watch this they were not able to go Because they had rebellion that was in them. Do you know what they were saying? They were saying our God is not able to deliver us. It wasn't about the promised land. It was about the promiser So they start rebelling against God I want you to see this and the same thing that happened with the children of Israel is the same thing that happens in Christians lives today is they came against two things God's Word and God's leaders They directly came against what God said for them to do and then what did they say they said we need new leaders See, this is what rebellion does It causes you to partner with giants in the land instead of defeat the Giants in the land See, rebellion causes you to surrender and submit to the lordship of the land, instead of the lordship of God. See, here was their problem. Remember, I warned you, this over-infatuation with the demonic, they were so focused on a giant, they forgot their God was the God of giant killers. So now God has to do later, with David, what he would have anointed an entire nation to do if they would have simply just said yes to the will of God. But I want you to see this, but because rebellion spread through the land, according to scripture,

no one from the entire generation made it into the promised land, except for Joshua and Caleb, who the Bible said had a different spirit. It took somebody with a different spirit to lead a next generation watch out of the rebellious pattern that the people of God found themselves in church. I need you to hear this warning today. It was a 40 year delay of the promises of God. I feel the Holy Ghost right now. Why did God warn us that this was a year to get rebellion out of our homes? Because I'm telling you, your future is on the line. The promises of God are on the line. What he wants to do in this church and this community in your line is at stake. This is not a little nice warning. This isn't a little kind of motivational speech. I came with the prophetic warning. Your family is on the line. Your marriage is on the line. Your ministry is on the line. Your future is on the line. I'm telling you right now, the prophetic warning is you can't come with us. You cannot come into the promised land or get the promises of God while rebellion remains in your life. If there's one way through, it's to break its back. Can you break the back of rebellion by submitting to the highest authority? Would you bow your heads and close your eyes all over this place? No one looking around. Everyone focused on the Lord. Where are you resisting God? Where are you saying no to God? Where's their rebellion in your life? Rebellion opens the door to witchcraft.

And today I'm believing that doors to the demonic shut in your life today. I sense in the spirit right now, the Lord is raising up watchmen with spiritual awareness and discernment for rebellion in their home and what you steward. The promises of God are at stake. It's like prophecy. It's not a guarantee. It's an opportunity to partner with the perfect will of God. Today, you have an opportunity to partner with the perfect will of God or to continue to partner with rebellion. I'm asking every single person who's a part of this congregation today, where are you resisting God? Where are you saying no to God? I want you to identify it. I want you to identify it. And once you've identified it in your heart, you've identified it in your spirit, however you do this between you and God, I want you just right now to repent of it. I hear the Lord say, break your partnerships with rebellion. I even hear the word in my spirit, covenant. Break your covenant with rebellion. I just saw in the spirit, I saw this door slamming shut, and I saw doors of the demonic shutting right now in your life. So I pray over the people of God, no spirit, but the Holy Spirit. I pray that you would expose every plan of the enemy. Jesus, your word teaches us to not be unaware of the enemy's schemes. I pray you would reveal what's going on in their marriage. You would reveal what's going on in their businesses. You would reveal what's going on in their families and their children. You would show the works of the enemy. I feel this so strong in my spirit, Mrs. Fonville, the Lord is going to raise you up as a watchwoman in that school, where you're going to see the plans of the enemy.

You're going to see it before it happens. He's going to release dreams. He's going to release warnings. You're going to pass children in the hallways, and a child's going to say something to you, and you won't hear the child's voice. You'll hear the voice of the Holy Spirit warning you, and I declare every word that he spoke over you of the overflow and abundance is going to happen, but I saw the enemy trying to stop it. But we shut the door even as the students went first and the young people go first. I declare right now it is shut and you will see a greater outpouring than you ever could imagine that takes place. You're going to see it in the lives of parents. I hear this. You're going to see it in the lives of parents. You're going to see miracles in the hearts and the lives of your parents. I saw children laying hands on parents at home. I saw tears running down their face. I saw the presence of God filling homes because of what happened in the school. The Lord's using you as a watchwoman, hermit, to sense what the enemy is doing so that you can be aware of it, so that you can ask the Lord what he wants you to do about it. Lift your hands right now. Lift them high. Pray this prayer. Give me eyes to see. Say Holy Spirit. Give me spiritual eyes. If you've got a prayer language, use it right now. Pastors of campuses, you can come and take your service at any time you want. Just take one moment. Just pray in the Holy Ghost. Nobody's prophesying in tongues. This isn't out of order. Come on. Release your heavenly language all over this place. I heard the Lord speak to my spirit and say, confusion. And there's some people in this room that the enemy has tried to come against you with confusion. And even as I taught about it and preached about it, you felt that was you. If that's you, stand on your feet and lift your hands. I want to pray over you. I'm going to use my prayer language. If you have a prayer language and you're standing, use your prayer language right now. Just stretch your hands towards anyone who's standing and just pray in the Holy Ghost if you have a prayer language.

My heart in moments like this is never, ever, ever to embarrass anyone because the Holy Spirit doesn't embarrass people. But Jesus met a woman at the well and said, you have five husbands and ministered to her heart so she would get deliverance. I felt in my spirit that there's somebody in this room with that confusion, that spirit of confusion. I don't want to embarrass you at all, but I do want to minister to you where you keep having these thoughts that you are the wrong gender. It's a strong thought. It visits you often and I feel like the Lord loves you so much he just wants to minister to you. If there's anybody that has had that confusion continually come on you, I want to pray for you. If you want to just come meet me at this altar, I want to pray over you. I don't want to embarrass you. Why don't you just put your focus on the Lord and just love on the Lord all over this place. If there's anybody, I want to pray for you. Put your hands as high as they go all over this place. With your hands lifted and surrender,

break the back of rebellion by submitting to the Lordship of Jesus. Start telling the Lord, yes, I'll obey you. Tell him, tell him, I'll obey you. Tell him, in the presence of God, tell him, I'll obey you. I'll obey you. Talk right to him right now. I'll obey you. Talk right to him right now. I'll obey you. Just start saying yes to the Lord. Before we close this service, hell is full of people who rebelled against God and said no to him. Last service, there was a dozen or so people that put their faith in Jesus who said, I want to surrender and submit to the Lordship of Jesus. There's no special prayer you pray. What saves you is faith in Jesus and his grace of what he did on the cross. But I do want to pray with you. If there's anyone in this place who says, I don't know if I die tomorrow, if I'm going to heaven or hell, but today I want to make sure that I'm right with God and put my faith in God. If that's you, I want you to come down to the front. I'm going to pray with you. Just get down here as fast as you can. Get down here as fast as you can. Awesome. Awesome.
