With You

♪♪ ♪ Beneath the surface of my anxious imagination, ♪ ♪ beckons a calmness that is found in you alone. ♪ ♪ It washes over every doubt, every imperfection. ♪ ♪ Jesus, your presence is the comfort of my soul. ♪ ♪ There's nowhere I'd rather be when you're singing over me. ♪ ♪ I just wanna be here with you. ♪ ♪ I'm lost in your mystery. I'm found in your love for me. ♪ ♪ I just wanna be here with you. ♪ ♪ There's nowhere I'd rather be when you're singing over me. ♪ ♪ I just wanna be here with you. ♪ ♪ I'm lost in your mystery. I'm found in your love for me. ♪ ♪ I just wanna be here with you. ♪ Psalm chapter 84, verse 10 says, better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in my God's house. I'd rather be a doorkeeper in my God's house than to dwell in the tent of the wicked. When the psalmist wrote this, he knew, he realized, being in God's house is better than being anywhere else. Being in God's presence, there's nothing better than being in God's presence. And when you're faced with the option between being in God's house, even being a doorkeeper in God's house, or dwelling in the tent of the wicked, that's an easy choice, I think, usually, right? Doing something wicked or being in God's house. But sometimes it's more subtle of an option than that. Things that are overtly evil,

it's easy to avoid those things. But we get distracted subtly by things. We pursue things that are not godly. And sometimes they're not even bad. We pursue good things. Listen, work is good. Family relationships are really important. They're good, but they're not God. And when you put those things in God's place, man, life starts to fall apart. And the psalmist, he recognized, man, one day in God's house is better than a thousand anywhere else. Just serving in God's house, that's the greatest thing that I could ever do with my life. And so right now, in this moment, man, there's no better place that you can be right now, in this place, in God's presence. And I wanna take a moment to pray for you that God will get involved in your life. God wants to get very deeply, intimately involved in your life. And I know in a room this size, many people here are struggling today. Financially, emotionally, mentally, physically, whatever your struggle is today, God knows what you're facing. I wanna pray for you right now that God would do something so powerful in your life. But I wanna challenge you as well today, man. Pursue God, number one, before anything else.

So right now, if I'm speaking to you, would you just raise your hand wherever you're at, anywhere in the room? God, we stop right now. I pray for your hands raised all over this room to recognize how good you are, God, and how much we need you. And Lord, I pray for every hand raised right now. I pray for every person in this room that we would pursue you before anything else. Help us to realize, God, nothing is better than you. You are the source of every good thing in our life. And so I pray now for the people here who are struggling, God, who are going through a crossroads in life, who don't know what to do, God. I pray for direction. I pray for wisdom and for guidance, Lord. I pray for people battling addiction, day in and day out, God, that you'd break the chains of addiction in their life, Lord. I pray for people who are struggling financially, emotionally, and their families, God, rebuild and restore like only you can do. And help us, God, to be totally consumed with pursuing you before anything else. We say, thank you, Jesus. It's in your name we pray. Come on, sing it. ♪ That I may be consumed with who you are ♪
