How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. A wretch like me. A wretch. I don't know about you, that's not a word I use on a regular basis, a wretch. I looked up the definition, a despicable or contemptible person. I don't know if this song was written today, if it would be as popular as it is. But the person who wrote this song, he recognized that in order for me to truly appreciate the miraculous, amazing power of God's grace, I first have to acknowledge how desperately I need that grace in my life. Amazing grace that saved a wretch like me. That amazing grace that gives us favor and blessing when we really don't deserve it. That amazing grace God showed us on the cross. I know somebody here today is thinking, man, I need some grace in my life. How do I get that grace? The Bible says in James 4, verse 6, there's a specific type of person that God opposes. I don't know about you, I don't want to be the kind of person that God opposes. There's a specific type of person that God gives his grace to. James 4, verse 6 says that God opposes the proud, but he gives his grace to the humble. If you would humble yourself today, maybe for the first time in your life and just say, God, I need that grace in my life.

If you're facing a situation, you're saying, God, I'm believing that your grace would step in like never before, that you would do what only you can do, would you just put a hand in the air right now to say, God, I need that grace. Lord, we come to you as one church right now, and we stop and we say, Lord, without your grace, we've got nothing. Without your grace spiritually, we are bankrupt. Without your grace, we have no hope for the future. Without your grace, there's no vision for our life. Without your grace, there's no salvation, Lord. So we say thank you for that grace, and we receive it in this moment, Lord. here today it's on the verge of giving up they don't know what to do next God I pray that your grace would be a lifeline to them right now Lord that your amazing grace would invade somebody's life in Jesus name we receive the grace that you give Lord Oh Oh Oh I am found
