When the Attack Hits, Don’t Let It Win | Mornings with Mico

Good people. What's going on? My name is Miko and welcome to my one-on-one time with God today. Today, we're going to pop around in a few different spaces in the Bible, but I want to kind of start by saying, like, I don't know when you'll see this, but I just know there's just, like, a heaviness in the world right now. And I was having a conversation. Actually, we were in prayer, and one of my friends, he was just talking about, like, things going on in, I think it's Minnesota, just things with immigration, politics, just all type of things, and it was just really weighing on him. And he had made a comment during prayer, and he had said, man, you know, talking about the verse in the Bible that says, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. And he was saying, you know, but God, I'm just really struggling, you know, believing that verse as I'm looking at everything that's going on around us. And it just reminded me of kind of just, like, something that I believe that the Holy Spirit had kind of shared with me, you know, a while back. I was watching a sermon online, and I think it was some church down in Atlanta or something like that, and it was Black church, right? So it was, you know, all of that, right? And the church, the pastor, he was going good, right? And he had gotten to a part of his message, and he had said something about, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. And everybody was responding, amen, amen. And he was like, but what about some of my seasoned saints in here who can recall some of those times when the weapon formed against them did prosper? And they were amen into that, and amen into that. And instantly, when I heard that, like, I was disturbed. I'm like, wait, right. Like, yeah, God, like, what about those times? And it made me, like, God, how much, how much faith are we supposed to put in this verse? How much, how weighty is this verse? How much, is this just like poetic language? Like, how much are we supposed to stand on this truth that no weapon formed against us shall prosper? So naturally, I felt inclined to go to the scripture where that verse is, and it's in Isaiah. It's in Isaiah 54, 17, and I wanted to just read, like, before and after, just to get some context. And I'll start at 16. It says, let's go back to 15. If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing. Whoever attacks you will surrender to you. See, it is I who created the blacksmith, who fans the coals into flame, and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc. No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the

servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me, declares the Lord. And that verse, the end of 17, where it says, this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. After I've read this verse, because I'm like, okay, God, I'm getting context, but then it says, like, this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And instantly what comes to mind is, have you considered my faithful servant Job? And at that point, I'm like, okay, God, why is that coming to mind? Because I don't know about you. I know how the story of Job goes. So I'm like, that's not the person to be reminded me of right now. And as we're talking about, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. And this is the heritage of the servant. So I then like, okay, well, let me go look into the story of Job again. And what I saw here, I'll start in chapter one, verse nine. And this is a point, I don't know if you're familiar, how familiar you are with the story, but Satan is having a conversation with God and God is kind of, he questioned Satan as Satan, you know, where have you been? Angels ask, where have you been? And he's like, oh, I've been going to and fro the earth. And God asked him, have you considered my faithful servant Job? And Satan replies, does Job fear God for nothing? Satan replied, have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land, but now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has. and he will surely curse you to your face and another passage so Job or Satan he goes and he God gives him permission Job then goes and he strikes you know down Job's family and all of his belongings and things like that and and then he goes then God says again to Job or he says again to Satan then the Lord said to Satan have you considered my servant Job there's no one on earth like him he is blameless and upright a man who fears God and shuns evil and he still maintains his integrity though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason skin for skin Satan replied a man will give all he has for his own life but now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones and he will surely curse you to your face the Lord said to Satan very well then he is in your hands but you must spare his life and so then the story goes Satan then goes and he like causes like boils all over Job's skin and Job is like lying on his deathbed pretty much for the next 30 or so chapters however long

the the book is and what I believe God began to like really speak to me in this moment as I'm seeing this it's it became clear that that Satan was after something right he says very clear you know if you do this to him surely he will strike or surely he will curse you to your face if I strike his his family calamity to to to to to all of his livestock things like that surely he'll curse you to your face is what Satan is saying to God about Job and what I believe the Holy Spirit began to reveal to me in this is when God says that no weapon formed against us shall prosper in some cases he is referring to his sovereign protection where there may be seen and unseen dangers that God is protecting us from that although they may forge against us he's protecting us from but then what I see here is that in some cases the weapons formed against us won't prosper not because God protects us from it but because as servants when we posture ourselves as servants we won't succumb to it the weapon formed against him here wasn't the the his family dying and his him losing all of his livestock and things like that like that wasn't the weapon prospering that was merely the weapon formed against him in order for it to prosper it would have to fulfill its intent in the intent of it was to get Job to curse God to his face which Job didn't do and what it what it really spoke to me man is like as as as servants of God this is our heritage this is who we are called to be to stand firm in the face of these calamities in the face of persecution in the face of death in the face of injustice in the faith of all of these things that could be happening to us sometimes by no you know doing of our own but this may be an opportunity where God is saying have you considered my faithful servant Miko have you considered my faithful servant insert your name and as a response to that as servants of God we're called to stand on watch and not succumb to that and not succumb to whatever the intent of that weapon formed against us is Job he made it out of the situation alive but the intent was never to kill him the intent was to get him to curse God to his face sometimes we may go through things where the intent isn't in and of itself for the marriage to end in divorce or for

the situation just to go sour I'll just leave it at that man the situation going sour isn't the weapon formed against us prospering it's merely the weapon formed against us the intent of that weapon to rob you of your hope, to rob you of your joy, to rob you of your faith. How's your prayer life, right? As you find yourself facing situations and not really understanding why things are going as bad as they are, how is that impacting your walk with God? The intent may be simply to separate you, right? To break you from being tethered to God the way that you were in a previous season. Yeah, you made it out that season alive, but did your faith, did your hope, or your prayers the same, right? Do you still have that same joy? Like that's the intent of the weapon formed against you. And family, sometimes it's on us to stand firm. God, I don't have understanding why this is going the way it is, but I will remain rooted in you. I will remain exactly in the posture which you last seen me, submitted to you, seeking after you, trusting you in this. And in some cases, family, that's simply our response. That's our only response. We may not have understanding in that moment, but we are still called as servants of God to remain postured in that surrender, in that hope, and that trust in Him. And may it even grow us in it, right? Like may sometimes these difficult seasons grow us in that posture of dependence and surrender, you know, to God, man. I don't know where you are in your walk. Maybe this is an on-time word for you. Maybe it's giving language to a previous season, or maybe it's just, maybe it'll be a deposit now for something that you may find yourself dealing with in the future. But however it goes, just recognize that it's not simply God's job to make sure the weapons against us, formed against us, don't prosper. We have a role to play in that too, family.
