The Pathway To Success Pt. 20
Zion Church | The Pathway To Success Pt. 20 | Senior Pastor Keith Battle
Summary
God makes His direction clear, but hearing alone isn’t enough—without action, we risk deceiving ourselves. True transformation happens when Scripture shapes both what we say and how we live, as consistent meditation leads to visible obedience and lasting impact. This journey is grounded in four realities: faith that actively takes hold of God’s promises, even when they defy logic; favor that provides divine backing beyond what we deserve; fortitude that sustains us through hardship, criticism, and setbacks; and courage that refuses to let fear dictate decisions, trusting instead in God’s presence and bigger purpose. These truths call for intentional rhythms—speaking faith, stewarding what God has given, and rejecting passivity. Favor doesn’t replace effort; it strengthens it when paired with obedience. In the end, the invitation is clear: trust God fully, surrender your plans to His, and follow Christ not just as Savior but as Lord—living daily with bold faith until His promises are fulfilled.
God bless you. Alright, y'all. It's time for the word. You're ready for the word. Y'all know what's up. It's part twenty. We didn't change the first number and somebody said, how long is it going to go on? I don't know. Amen. As long as God's speaking to us. Amen. Ain't no need trying to be cute. Amen. Let's be faithful to what he's saying. Father, we thank you for how you've been speaking to us. Those of you who are here for their first time today who may feel a bit overwhelmed by hearing the number twenty but I thank you that every message stands alone and will make sense to them even today. You have what we need in this service for this group of people on every campus in every place right now and and online. So, we thank you for what you're going to give us in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. I have a surprise for you to stand. That means standing would hurt you or injure you. Please stand with me and I want
us to declare something because one thing we have to understand is the way God works is he reveals his plan oftentimes through preaching and teaching. It's just people don't hear, you don't have to like preaching. It's just a thing he uses. Uh it's one of the tools he uses. So, it is important with an expectation to hear like God because God will give you specificity of answers like, okay, I know what I'm supposed to do about this now. Uh that's how he moves but it's it's on you to make sure you steward what he feeds you well, right? Because even though God can make you a meal, put it on a plate and put it on the table in front of you but you gotta eat it and just because you heard it don't mean you ate it. Just because you can hear it and see it doesn't mean you when you eat it, it means you you you take it into your life. You walk in it. You understand what I'm saying? Just just we know he
can prepare a table for. God is so bold. God will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies. So, he sure ain't got no problem preparing a table for you in church. But just because he set the table don't mean you ain't gotta eat. You have to eat. You have to say, this is what God is saying to me. You have to rehearse what he said. Write it down and walk in it. You understand what I'm saying? Because that's on you to do that. So, let's be prepared to hear from him right now. Let's go to Joshua chapter one verse eight which says, this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall meditate in it day and night. That you may observe to do. That you may observe to do. That you may observe to do. Don't be a great word hearer and a weak word doer. James one says, if you hear the word only without doing it, you deceive yourself. Self deception. It makes sense. You
know how you can deceive yourself? When people have a knowledge of the word, it kinda makes you feel a little confident. Yeah, I know the word. Yeah, I know the word. I know that verse. I can finish it. If I start a verse, you can finish it. It kinda gives you a sense of confidence but knowing the word and doing it aren't the same. You can know knowing and doing is what gets you success. Knowing and doing. You can know, you can know what you're supposed to eat. This is the correct meal plan. This is the anti-inflammatory food you're supposed to be eating. This is the low fat menu. You can know it. Oh, I know what I'm supposed to eat. Knowing it and doing it are not the same. What blesses your life is when you know what God says and you do it. Amen. Be good at doing it. All that is written in it for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have what? That's the quality
we want. Let's be seated. That's the quality of success we want. Today, I wanna talk to you about four big words. I wanna give you four big words not because of the size of the words, the size of the words phonetically or how many letters it takes to spell the words. I wanna give you these words because they are massive in their impact on our pathway to success. Every one of these words matters and the first word I wanna give you is the word faith. In order for Joshua and watch this y'all everything God said to Joshua directly, he's saying to us indirectly. In order for Joshua to get successfully along his pathway to success, he had to operate in faith. Give me an example. I'll give you an example. How about this? God says I'm giving you Jericho Now Jericho was not only a place that wasn't there wasn't trying to give up Their rights and authority to their land to Israelites. They had built a wall around Jericho It was impregnable and they had soldiers on the wall and behind the wall and God says I'm giving you Jericho So, you know Josh was a fighter. He said well, we got to go fight. No God said I want you to walk around it Now what kind of military strategy is that? This is gonna walk around the wall. Watch this
every day Once a day for six days in seven day walk around seven times Do you know how funny how crazy he looked even to his military team? What are we doing? But it was a move of faith and some of you can't reach levels of success in your life because you only do what's logical You Would never do something like that, that's why if God tells you I want you to have this property you would never walk around it That just went right over your head right there you you you you too smart to do something like that You're gonna go check your bank account and you're with your financial advisor and you're gonna do it the intellectual way And I'm saying your smarts are gonna keep you right out of your success Because if your success is limited to how smart you are when God can do exceedingly and abundantly above all you can think Who that's good right there. That means that means your success is capped out at your thoughts You're only successful as you are smart. There are some things that God will take your natural and add his super to it That's the way you get the supernatural when God does exceedingly and abundantly. How about Joshua chapter 3 it takes faith God says I want you to go put your foot in the Jordan River Now I'm but he bought the step into the Jordan River. This is not a place where you walk. You don't walk through rivers y'all And his predecessor Moses had done it. He parted this rip. He parted the Red Sea He's about to walk through a river and he's gonna look really bad if this doesn't work But you cannot there are certain things that you're not gonna get to that God has caused you to unless you trust him by faith. I'm not saying strategies aren't important I'm saying you can't just stop with strategies because God will tell you to do some things that require trusting him Faith somebody say faith I'm telling that kind of faith as we see in Mark chapter 11 verse 24 when we did that series you have what you say In Mark 11 24, it says therefore. I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it and It will be yours That's faith right there that word received right there in Mark 11 24 is a is a Greek word Lombano and it means to grab something to take hold of it to take possession of there. There are certain things It's not a passive word. Some things are not going to just be given to you Go ahead to take them. You're gonna have to take it when God that same word Lombano is not in the Old Testament in Hebrew It's a New Testament word
But they had to operate in that in the Old Testament because God told Joshua in the Israelite there's some places I'm gonna be you gonna have to take it you have to go in and possess the land and I think sometimes the Passivity of our faith is holding us back to the level of success God wants us to have because we don't go and take stuff. How do you take it in the natural? I'm not talking about committing a crime. I'm talking about taking it with your mouth I'm talking about speaking those things which are not as though there are How can you spray about something and say and watch this believe that I've already received it When in my natural realm, I haven't received it, but you can speak like watch this faith is the substance Of things I'm hoping for It's evidence of things. I haven't even seen yet That's that's faith faith speaks into the future and says I believe watch this. I'm not just praying for that I'm praising God that it's already done. I'm because in the spiritual realm. It's already done I'm just waiting on God to manifest it in my life. My job is to speak it God's job is to manifest it but if I don't speak it, I shouldn't expect it because I only have what I Do y'all gonna make me work this week I see It Is faith it is faith that you're gonna need and what we have to do is say God grow my faith up So that my faith is operating on a frequency where you operate As opposed to watch this. I am limited to my natural instincts my natural abilities God can do far exceedingly above what your natural is to get your faith up That's My first word the second word I want to give you is the word favor Favor is a big word It's a big word in Joshua chapter 10 verse 42 The whole chapter chapter 10 read that sometimes it's an amazing chapter and what God did for Joshua and Israelites they They were take they didn't just beat one King in one Area they beat multiple Kings and and and and got victory because God extended the day He made the Sun stand still and he he confused the enemies and and he sent Hailstones and God did all the supernatural stuff and for God to make the Sun stand still was an incredible miracle because that means he
Made the earth stop rotating The moment the earth stops rotating that could be cataclysmic Because if the earth stops we're rotating right now There is a rhythm to the earth it it has to move in order for it because if it stops moving something bad can happen But if he stops the earth everything on the earth will keep sliding. What's holding? Watch this God says it's about it's in me that you live and move and have your being and he says I got the whole World is in my hand It's all things consist by the power of God and he held up he held up all of nature For one army to get a victory because they needed more daylight. So I said I'm gonna make the Sun stand still I'm gonna keep it daylight for a longer period of time than normal So y'all can defeat your enemy because if it gets dark, they're not gonna know what they're doing because they're on enemy turf But he says I'm gonna keep it light so you can keep fighting and be victorious God did that for him and it wasn't because of their special weaponry It wasn't because of their military prowess verse 20 verse 42 says this Joshua was able to capture and defeat all these people And all their kings for one simple reason the eternal God of Israel fought for Israel God was fighting for Israel. That's favor right there. Reminds me that Israel out and so on It says God is fighting for us pushing back to darkness Lighting up the kingdom that shall not be shaken in the name of Jesus The enemy's defeated and we will shout it out shout it out. That's favor right there. That's favor right there You know what favor is this is favor. Let me say what favor favor is. It's when you know God is for you You just know it it ain't it ain't arrogance it's just something about it You don't even know why he's for you. You just know he's for you You just know somehow somehow when everybody else was getting consequence somehow God just pulled you out of situations like this You should have been dead by now Yeah, God just said not you not you who understands what I'm talking about The only reason why you are here today is because of favor God favored you who God favored you it didn't make sense It wasn't and made his favor. I speak this in the name of Jesus and may his favor be upon you 4,000 generations and your children and their children and their children Be under the favor of God because he is for you. He is for you
He is somebody give him a break that he's for me He is for me Let everybody be against me if God before me he is more than the world against me He is for you. That's favor. That's favor The reason why you survived was you survived because of favor the reason why you came out of what you came out of was because of favor the reason why you've Accomplished everything you've accomplished in your life because of it. You can't explain it any other kind of way You ain't smart enough. You ain't cool enough. You ain't cute enough. You ain't flying up God just favored you and since you're his favorite. Why don't you give him a praise? to your father Thank you father Oh Hold it Hold it. I missed this. I missed this. What's this the favor that Joshua got in chapter 10? Came after a failure in chapter 9 Whoo, y'all should read the Bible in chapter 9. He did something without consulting God He made a treaty with some people that God didn't tell him to hook up with He shook hands with the Gibeonites and it was a mess but I want to tell you that after chapter 9's failure He still had favor in chapter 10, and I don't know who I'm preaching to but your failure did not remove his favor It's unmerited It's undeserved His you know, it comes out of his goodness God just favors you cuz he's good. Not out of your goodness cuz of his goodness Before you sit down high-five somebody say I'm still favored. I Don't even understand it. I would have quit on me by now. I would have given up on me by now I would have thrown I would have thrown myself away by now, but somehow I'm still I still got it. I still got it If you're at the fort right now you got favor let God know I got it I got I'm grateful for it Now watch this watch this your favor doesn't excuse you from your part God did make the Sun stand still
God did confuse the enemy this all in chapter 10 God did send hailstones only God could do that But Joshua had to walk all night Verse 9 he had to arrange the army for battle He had to prepare a strategy see just because you got favor don't mean you get to be lazy You do your part and he does his part Yeah Amen Favor favor give me verse 24 chapter 24 verse 13. Here's another verse Here's God saying he got I gave you land. I Gave you land you had not worked on I Gave you towns you did not build The towns where you're now living I gave you vineyards and olive grove olive groves of food you didn't plant them See watch this faith will require you to take some things Favor will make God just give you some stuff Well, I wish I had a good shot I wish I had a church church in here today I said there's some things I had to take by faith, but there's some things God just gave me by favor Has God ever gave you some I didn't even ask for it God. I didn't even ask for that God I didn't even ask for it, but you just you just thought about me. You just thought well of me You just decide he decided to do it. He decided to he decided to do it Third word Fortitude Go back to chapter 1 verse 6 God says is Joshua Be strong and courageous He said it to him over and over. He said be strong and courageous fortitude You gotta be tough Why cuz you are the one That part
You are the one Somebody here got to know you the one without even being arrogant I'm the one Just just push somebody nicely. Don't don't get mad at me, but I'm the one the reason why I keep standing up cuz I'm the one The reason why the devil's wreaking havoc in my life cuz I'm the one The reason why he came against my whole family cuz I'm the one The reason why I tried to kill me y'all ain't ready for me today It's cuz I'm the one the reason why I got idiosyncrasies and flaws and tell you I'm a little freaky. I'm a little nasty I'm a little Wow, but I'm still anointed cuz I'm no, I'm no, I'm the one don't mess with me I'm the one I'm the one that he called. I'm the one to who am I talking? You got to be fortified in that one Yeah, I got to remind myself of that because there's a mission to be done I'm built for it That's what I'm trying to say. I'm built for this Amen, don't try this at home People look at your life and think they could be who you were They think they could be your husband's wife when they say y'all ain't ready for this. They think they could be your husband's wife They think they could be your wife's husband, but you've been built for it because there's some things about being you That only God could have prepared what I feel like preaching to him that only God could have prepared you to do Somebody say I'm the one I told you is your husband I For to he says be courageous I'm gonna get through this Be strong and courageous I'm gonna lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors and I would get it in verse 7 be strong and very courageous fortified Very good verse 9. He says it again. Yeah, I command you be strong and courageous. That's fortified Let me tell you something if you go if you go ahead success, good success, you gonna have to have something in you. I hope y'all can
handle this. I don't know a better word. You got to have a dog in you. I ain't talking about Parliament Funkadelic. I ain't talking about that dog. I'm talking about that grit. Who understands what I'm talking about? That I don't quit. You're gonna mess with the wrong one. All you did was make me tougher. You made me go deeper. You ain't gonna make me run away. You ain't gonna make me back down. Fortified. Because you're gonna face something. See, there's something about what what God has called you to do that can be intimidating. But you have to be fortified for it. And built for it. You understand what I'm saying? Because I'm called to do this. I am fortified. And being fortified doesn't help you avoid trouble. It helps you respond to it. Courageously. In one fight I went, I went to see a fight one time in Las Vegas. Only time I've ever been to Las Vegas to see a fight. It was Floyd Mayweather fought Sugar Shane Mosley. 2010. I was sitting up in a nosebleed. So high I ain't know where I was. And I was sitting in a section of Sugar Shane Mosley fans. Some California dudes was up there. And and and I remember in the second round when Sugar Shane hit Floyd so hard you could feel the vibration in the room. Like when he almost dropped Floyd twice in the second round. And and and them guys was just going off when that happened. And what we found out later was is that Floyd Mayweather grabbed Sugar Shane Mosley when he hit him like that twice. And he said this to him. You gonna have to kill me in here. You gonna have to kill me in here. That's crazy. That's fortitude. I know that mess with Shane's head. Cause Shane was saying I was hoping you were fooled when I hit you with that. I hit you with my best. And this brother talking about you gonna have to kill me. By the way Sugar Shane never won another round in that fight. That's what fortitude to do. See some of y'all I don't know if I got the kind of crazy Saints listening to me at this service or not. We need some people in here that would tell the devil you gonna have to kill me. I said you gonna have to kill me. Because I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. I said I'm on the battlefield not for you. For my Lord. And I I promised him that I would serve him till I die. I'm in this thing. You gonna have to kill me. I said you gonna have to kill me. You got to come with something better. You
got to kill me. As long as I got breath. Job lost 10 children in one day. All 10 of his children. All his cattle. All his herd. All his livestock. All his servants. And then his wife says you need to curse God and die. Can it get any worse than that? And the Bible says his response worship. Though you slay me yet will I trust you. Naked I came out of my mother's womb. Naked I shall return the same way. In other words I came here with nothing. I'm gonna leave here with nothing. And everything I had in between came from you. The Lord gives. The Lord takes away. But blessed be the name of the Lord. By the way it was the Lord gave. The devil took away. God just gave the devil permission. Make sure you get that clear. That's fortitude. 1871 Horatio Spafford. A Presbyterian elder and a attorney. In the Chicago fire lost all of his wealth. His business went down in flames. Two years later after rebuilding somewhat he decided to take his family on a trip to Europe. They went on a cruise line on a ship across the Atlantic Ocean. He wasn't able to depart with his family because of business emergency. So he sent his wife and his daughters. Twelve and under his daughters were. They ride. They're going to Europe. That ship crashed in the Atlantic Ocean. 226 people died on that ship including all four of his daughters. His wife barely survived. She gets to the destination and sends a telegram to him. Two words. Saved alone. He gets on a ship to go greet his wife and while he's grieving when he gets to the spot where the ship commander says and this is where the people's lives were lost and he looks out into the ocean where his 12 his four daughters died and he writes the words when peace like a river attendeth my way and sorrows like I will make sea billows roll. Thou has taught me to say, it is well with my soul. That's fortitude. That's fortitude. And he spent the rest of his life serving God. This is where some of y'all will quit if people don't speak to you.
Some of y'all will quit if you don't get acknowledged at the end of a program in church. Some of y'all will quit and call it church hurt. How in the world can you be in church and not get hurt? How can you not get hurt in church? There's no way. You're around people. You're going to get hurt in church. How do you leave church when you get hurt? You've been hurt at a beauty salon. You've been hurt at the barbershop, but you still go. You've been hurt at work, but you still get up every morning and still go and get that paper. You've been hurt at restaurants, but I can look at you and tell you're still eating. This is the God. One little thing the devil can do to make you run away from God. The devil is a liar. I need to ask somebody a question. Who's walked away from the work of God? Is the hurt you experience worth walking away from the work God called you to? Maybe they were wrong. Maybe they were dead wrong, but is what they did worth you leaving the assignment? Maybe you set yourself on the bench. See, some of y'all, you stopped serving the Lord because you messed up. And you say, you know what?
God can't use me anymore. But how is it that your standard is higher than his? He said, if you confess your sins, I'm faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you. So now you have a standard that's holier than God because you won't use, you won't, watch this, you won't serve God when you think you're not worthy. What you don't know is, is that when God first chose you, he already knew the wild stuff he was going to do before he chose you. So now that you know what he already knew, you weren't worthy when you thought you were worthy. Get back to work. Get back to work. See, that's why it takes fortitude to be successful. Because let me tell you something. There are going to be times when people hurt you and let you down. Life will hurt you and let you down. God will hurt you and let you down when he don't do what you want him to do. And you will hurt you and let you down. Get over it. Get up. I'm talking to somebody. Get up and get back to work. I got one more, fear. Go back to verse 6, Joshua chapter 1. He says, be strong and courageous. You know what he's saying?
Don't be scared. Don't be scared. Because you are the one. God told him to not be scared. In verse 9, he says it clearly. Do not be afraid in verse 9. Do not be afraid. Don't be discouraged. The reason why God had to tell him that is because God understands that there's some things that he would call you to do that will scare you. You try to act like I ain't scared of nothing. It's fine. Some of you have vacated the mission already because at the end of the day, you're scared. You have all kinds of reasons why you did it. And most people will listen to you and say, that makes sense. But at the end of the day, you're scared. And God said, God is not saying don't ever get scared. He just said, don't stay scared. Sometimes you got to do it while you're scared. You can't, watch this. Here it is. Your mission's got to be bigger than your fear. Because watch this. He says, go back to verse 6. He says, be strong and courageous. Don't be scared, for you're the one. And you will lead these people to possess all the land. Here's the reason why you can't let fear stop you,
because it's bigger than you. Look at all these people. If I could just make sense to y'all, some of y'all don't understand all the people who are dependent on you to not run away in fear. All the people that need you to walk in courage, because they're people, it's people, it's bigger than you. It ain't just about your feelings and your needs. It's bigger than you. It's bigger. What God calls you to do is bigger than you. It's about the people he's trying to help. Do you understand what I'm saying? And you can't, get over your fears. That's the enemy. God is not giving you a spirit of fear. Power, love, and a sound mind, that comes from God. And then he says, it's not only that reason for you to not be afraid, he says, also, I swore to their ancestors that I would give their descendants this land. You know what God said? I can't have you being scared and walking away, because my name is on the line. My word is on the line. There's a promise on the table. I made a promise to the ancestors of these Israelites that I was going to give them this land and I need you to understand that you don't just have my protection, you got a promise on this. So you have to understand some of y'all are doing something and you don't understand the people you're trying to help and the burden you have is not a coincidence, it's connected to a promise. The people you're trying to help are
people that God made a promise to their ancestors that I'm going to bless them. Let me make it personal. The reason why a lot of you come to this church, it ain't about me, it's because God made a promise to somebody that used to pray for you. Some of y'all are here in this church because of your mother and your grandmother, your grandfather, and your great-grandmother, and your great-grandfather prayed for you that you would know the Lord and you would get in a teaching church where you could come and wear whatever you got to wear because you knew you weren't going to come and they made you wear suits and dresses like that. Then somebody prayed this into your life and the promises of God are yay and amen. It's got to work because there's a promise on it and some of y'all need to stand on the promise. Stop being intimidated by the stats and how hard it is. There's a promise on what you're supposed to do. Somebody say, don't be scared. Don't stay scared. Verse 7, here's another antidote for fear. Get in my Word. Get in my Word. Do all the instructions. Don't deviate. Don't turn to the right or left. You will be successful. How can you be successful in everything you do? You know how you can be successful in everything you do? Don't do nothing God ain't tell you to do. I had my family reunion yesterday. My family is off the chain. I can't even tell you stuff about my family. You might be looking for them, but when we play spades in my family, I don't know who started this, we never play partners. It's called cutthroat. There's four people at the table, every man for himself, old woman, child don't make no difference. You in here by yourself. When there's four people at the table, you're playing spades, it's only 13 books. I wasn't even in the game. I watched my cousin Robin. I looked at her hand and said, let me play that hand. I ain't seen nobody else. Let me play that hand. I sat at her table. I said, give me eight. It's only 13 books. I said, give me eight. You know why I wasn't successful? God didn't tell me to say eight. You gotta understand, my cousins like sharks. They don't play cards. They play talk trash the whole time, slamming cards. They like sharks. When I said eight, they said, y'all, they start talking to each other. Y'all know we setting this eight.
We're about to bump this eight. See, you're only failing things God ain't tell you to do. I think God says six. I don't even know what he said. It wasn't even my game. You gotta listen to God even at the spades table. So I'll give you success in everything you do, but it's, watch this, in verse 8 too, he says, but it's all tied to my word. Joshua, the reason why I want you immersed in my word, I want you to, I want you to speak it. I want you to think it. I want you to live it. It's because my word is what gives you encouragement when you're discouraged. Discourage is the absence of courage, and courage is what you need to do the assignment. My word will do that for you. I'll prove it to you. How many of you ever came to church and you were feeling a little down, like, man, I don't think I can get through this, and God gave you a word, and it changed. You're like, okay, I can do this. I can make it one more time. I'm gonna get this one more chance. That's the power of the word, and guess what? You don't have to wait for Sunday for that. You can get in this word every day and night and get that encouragement, and then the last thing he says at the end of verse 9, and we're going, he says, the reason why you don't have to be afraid is because I'm with you wherever you go. What I love about God is he doesn't just send us. He joins us. I'll be with you wherever you go. There's nowhere you'll go that I won't be with you. In the book of Judges, chapter 6, God comes to a tree called the tree of Oprah, and there's a man named Gideon there, and he's threshing wheat on the winepress floor because he's hiding from the Midianites who are intimidating Israelites and taking their stuff from him, so he's hiding his grain, and there the angel of the Lord shows up to him and says to him, mighty hero. He called Gideon something that he wasn't because God can call you something while you're on the way to being that. You don't even look like what you're going to be. It's a mighty hero. And Gideon's response, he didn't know it was the Lord at first, he started complaining, saying if God was, God's abandoned us and he left us in this situation, let the Midianites take over, and he started complaining and saying why questions, you know some why questions are really looking for information,
some why questions are victim questions, so he's being a victim and he's crying. And then God says to him, give me verse 14 of Judges chapter 6, watch what God says to him, he says, go with the strength you have and rescue Israel from the Midianites, I'm sending you, I'm sending you, I'm sending you, I'm sending you. And I love this, he said, and go in the strength you have. Oh that's so good. I know you ain't got much, go in the strength you have. I want to tell somebody right now, God is sending you with the strength you have. Because whatever's lacking, he's going to make it up. See, you keep waiting because you're logical. But God's going to do something illogical. Watch who he used. Gideon responded, verse 15, he said, oh Lord, you done made a mistake here, you don't know me. He said, my whole family weak. This is the smallest family, the weakest family, the whole tribe of Manasseh, we're the weakest ones, and I'm the least in my entire family. So you went to the lowest family and the lowest part of the family, he says, yep, you're the one. God likes choosing people who it don't make sense so that when it happens, the glory can only go one place. And he says to the weakest man in the weakest family, go in the strength you got. Ooh, that's a sermon right there, go in the strength you got. All you got is excuses, and God said, go in the strength you got. Why, God? Here's the answer, verse 16, because I will be with you. You're going to destroy the million lights as if you're fighting against one man. Why? Because I will be with you.
That's going to be the difference. My presence is going to be the difference. And some of you, that's all you need to know. I got his favor and I got his presence. That's going to help you to overcome the fear you have and build up your fortitude and strengthen your faith so you can finish. Like them F's, you see all them F's? I will be with you. So you know what he's telling them? I will be with you if you will only trust me. I'll never leave you, as Richard Smallwood says, I'll never leave you. I'll never leave you if you will only trust me. And if somebody attacks you, I'll fight your battles. Ooh, I like that about God. Yeah, somebody jump on you, God's jumping in there. I will fight your battles. I'll fight your battles if you will only trust me. Trust me as we stand today. Today's altar call is all about trust. Trust in God. Will you trust him? Will you trust him to be your personal Savior? Will you trust him beyond being your personal Savior? Will you trust him to be Lord of your life? You know, that's different. Salvation means I got my fine insurance. Thank you, Lord, for saving me from hell. But what about, God said, I want to, please don't walk out. Stay still if you don't have to leave. God says, what about my plan for your life?
Making Jesus the Lord of your life means I submit to your plan. I submit my plan to your plan. Your will, your way, my life. That's surrender. Will you trust him with your life? You need the body of Christ. You're a part of the body. Will you trust him? Well, this ain't like my church. This ain't like my old church. Is your old church still open? I'm just saying, make a decision. But don't stay aloof. Will you trust him? Will you trust him to fortify you?
