The Many By: Dr. Pete Norris

He didn't listen to me. He didn't redeem just church folk. He redeemed all the mankind. And now all the mankind is absolutely free because of Jesus Christ. That guy walking the street is free. We knew an I were in sin, we were free. We just didn't know we were free. He who the sun sets free is free indeed. Read that scripture again. He's made us free, I believe it's John 832. You and I have been made absolutely free. Do we really believe we made free? Or do we still only think, well I miss God, I miss Him, I miss Him. Oh, get over it. Welcome to Power in the Word. Do you believe that you chose Jesus? Or did Jesus choose you? Well, today Dr. Narsen shows us in the Word of God that the overarching grace of God has got everyone. But everyone has not come to believe that realization. It's a provocative but very encouraging message. So you stay with us. Today we're gonna talk about the many. And so I really done some serious study on this word and the many is the actual Greek word. I want you to get this now. It's the actual Greek word, Paulii. It means he is speaking of a specific totality group.

Now I looked up the word totality 'cause I want you to see that too. That means the whole complete amount of it or entire sum of something. So that totality, what's totality mean to you? That means the whole whole deal, right? So now we're gonna read the scriptures today and we're just gonna read scriptures and we're gonna talk about those scriptures. And I want you to make an evaluation yourself of how big God's grace is and how wonderful his grace is for your life. And as you go through things in your life, if you can understand this, this is real simple. If you can understand how much God loves for you, loves you, you won't be concerned about what's happened tomorrow or what you even gonna do tomorrow. Because the reality is what's wrong in America today is we don't have a problem with the parties, Democrat or Republican or Independent. We have a problem with what truth is. And if you can know the truth, the truth will make you free. But what I've understood is some people's truth and my truth are not the same truth. And I understand that I have some perceptions of things that I think are true that are not true either. But this word's true. So if we can find it here, we can live by it, right? Can we all come to agreement with that? If we can find it here, we can live by it.

I want you to go into first John chapter two, verse one. And we're gonna get going this morning. And we're gonna talk about the many. Look at somebody say, I'm one of the many. I know it's an unusual title, but you're one of the many. Look at somebody say, I'm one of the many. My little children, these things I write unto you. And this is in red in your scriptures. Who's writing this? Jesus' writing, John's writing it, but it's interpretation inspired by the Holy Spirit. My little children, these things I write unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous one. So let's go to verse two. And he is of habituation for our sins, not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. So how many of you know that perpetuation means mercy seed? So Jesus took the blood, placed it on the mercy seed in heaven, and because of that, the food, the food, the food, the food, the mercy seed in heaven, and because of that, the fullness of mind and your sins, and the whole world's sins were removed. Everybody's sins were removed. Correct? Everybody in the whole world's sins were removed. Everybody in the whole world's sins were removed. If quarter Romans four and 25, if Jesus could not have got out of that tomb,

and listen, every sin was done away with it. 'Cause he went to that tomb on the count of our sins. He was regular, regular, regular on the count of our righteousness. Correct? That's four, 25. So we understand that he died for the whole world. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. So we understand that word is cosmos. So he died for the entire world. Are we in agreement? That he had died for the entire world, and all the entire world's sins were removed. Completely everybody's sins were removed. Now we're gonna verify this, and we're gonna go to the NLT in the same scriptures. Now watch this, they win me. My dear children, I'm writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. How many of you know that you were saved before you got saved? Oh, come on, somebody. You gotta get with me now. You gotta get happier about this thing than this. You're never gonna find what you ain't looking for. You're never gonna be able to conceive what hasn't been revealed to you. Now stay with me a minute. Because he said that Jesus Christ is the righteous one.

So he is an advocate, even before you miss it, he's standing before the Father, pleading your case for you. Now look at verse two. He himself is a sacrifice that atones for our sins and not only our sins, but the sins of All the world so all the world has been forgiven that that's not what we were taught in church We were taught in church that we were sinners and we're going to hell and if we don't get it right We're gonna buzz the hell wide open and so they would preach it would scare the hell out of you Okay, how many of you have you to preach to scare the hell out of you? See some of y'all already offended cuz I said hell and they preach it all the time in the church you grew up in Hey, man, you're going to hell. We gonna bust it wide open brother You got sinning your life so I was sitting there and gripped the back of the puke anybody know what I'm talking about I'd grip the back of the hues cuz I can feel the fire on my feet man You know they preach to that fire in brimstone where I come from and I understood that God was man. God was uptight with me. God was disappointed in me, but here's what I've discovered His grace is so big That he don't even see my stuff Now John 1 29 took me a long time to learn this, but I want to show you something and John looks over the next day John see if Jesus coming in unto him and he said Look guys this lamb of God here, which is going to take away the sins of the world In other words, this man is going to take away your sin now the word take it away in the actual Greek means Area in the actual Greek and it means to lift you up above your sins Why do you think the stone was lifted away the stone Represented the law and the stone had been removed it took 17 people to put the stone there, but one person removed the stone Now that stone that that tomb that you and I are talking about was not a tomb It was a wound for the new creation to get birth to that was a warm in place for you and I to get birth Oh, come on somebody. We got to understand that the taking away when John said he's going to take away the sins of the world John was the last forerunner that was going to bring about the old covenant to establish the new so John had to be beheaded So that that means authority he was beheaded so the law would end and grace would show up Now he only had a six-month ministry John to matters. He was six months older than Jesus

You know that right they thought John was dead until he met Mary and then he jumped inside of Mary Why listen, I'll tell you what's happening to a lot of you. You ready for this? We stay in churches that don't make our baby John So there's no reason for you to see anything as long as you're not hearing anything that talks to you And so condemnation talks to most people so they never give birth to anything outside of condemnation And so we see here that John said I saw here's the lamb of God this lamb of God right here It's gonna take away the sin of the world now. You know under the old covenant now listen to me very carefully They would bring the lamb to the priest who would he inspect and if the lamb was good He was good the person that brought the lamb So Jesus was mine in your lamb so they took him into Jerusalem and they watched him for five days and searched the lamb out Trying to find something wrong with him under the old covenant They would keep the lamb for five days before the priest would examine the lamb and if the lamb was good everybody was good So they expected this lamb for five days in Jerusalem and the Bible said they couldn't find any what does Cyrus say? I couldn't find anything. What here to say I couldn't find anything wrong with this dude He was gonna be the lamb. It was gonna collect me and you clean Me and you have never stood before God to be judge Jesus was we were in him being judged by God Oh come on somebody when John said behold this man's gonna remove the sin of the world He removed the sin of the world. He made you whole you were whole before you knew you were whole you didn't know you were whole That's what Paul meant when he said what I've been trying to apprehend his apprehended me See what's on the inside of you has been alive for a long time. You just had to speak it before it became the manifestation Go me the first Peter 2 and 24. I want you to see this all in Scripture Who in his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins Should live under right now. How many of you know you're dead to sin so if something's dead does it live and Me and you the spirit of life in Christ Jesus made us free from the law of sin and the law of death So you and I are no longer have death or sin in our lives because the spirit of life in Christ You just made me free from that who made us free that man named Jesus That stood before the father and reconciled the world to himself now an advocate means a legal term That means he's a he's standing in for mine and you're Right in other words. He has power of attorney to make decisions free. Oh come on somebody He has authority to make decisions for me and you he made him

He said I'm gonna go and I'm gonna die and I'm gonna resurrect so that Pete can live and Pete can live now through me That's what he's talking about, disciples, when he said, come and follow me. He won't say, let's make disciples of everybody. 'Cause I'm gonna tell you, we've missed that too, because just not what Jesus was talking about. What he was talking about is coming down with me, come resurrected of me, come and ascend with me, and come and sit with me in heavenly places. He said, that's the process. The Bible says, take up the cross and follow me. The word cross means the exposure of self to death. In other words, what he's talking about, I'm gonna bring you to the death, and I'm gonna bring you back to life. You were born dead, but you were still born, but I'm gonna bring you back to life. Come on, somebody. He loves us so very much. Hebrews, chapter nine, verse 28. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of what? The what? Of many, of many. And unto him that look for him, shall be appeared the second time without sin unto salvation. And how many of you believe Jesus is coming back? Absolutely, he's coming back. But he's not coming back 'cause you got a sin issue. He removed your sin the first time. And he come and offered to bear the sins of the many.

Of many. Turn to someone, I said, it means totality. That means a specific totality group. So he died for how many? Come on, somebody, please say it. I know the devil don't want you to, but please say he died for everybody. He just didn't die for the ones in the church. He died for everybody. For God so loved the world that he gave his life for everybody. So everybody, and I'm gonna say it. Everybody in the world say they just haven't discovered it yet. Because you're saying pastor, everybody say yes I am. And I'm saying everybody say they just haven't discovered their saved yet. Minding your job is to let them know they are. 'Cause grace has got you. Let me take a second. If your confession gets you saved, you wouldn't need it in my side. If your confession can fix you. Now I know they say Christianity is the confession. Confession is the Christianity. Now I understand that. I understand what they're saying. Here's what we need to be confessing. What he's done for us and who I am in him. Go to Matthew 26 and 28. Even as the Son of Man. And he's talking about the Son of God

'cause he's not the Son of God to after the resurrection. Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life as a ransom. There's that word again, for many. Turn to somebody and say he come to give his life. How many of you see this here? Jesus the Son of Man did not come to be ministered unto, but to minister. Now I'm gonna make a comment. You ready for this? You need to stop trying to let minister to Jesus and be a servant and get out of a servant mentality and be a son mentality. A son can live in the house and spend the night. A servant can just visit the house and cook. But he can't spend the night. Now I hear people say this all the time and I understand what they're saying, but it's totally not an understanding of who they are. Well, I've just been a servant of the Lord for 30 years. You're not a servant anymore, you're a son. Now I don't know about you and I don't know how your kids are, but my kids don't serve me. I do most of the serving. We go out and eat, they don't have no wallet. Think about it in a minute. Does your kids serve you? No, uh-uh. Even this small, they don't serve. They want to be served.

But I think that's the heart of the Father. And I think that's where as the believers we've missed it, because Jesus come to serve you and make you whole and bless you and tell you who you are. So what he did is he put his spirit in you that tell you all things that's been freely given to you. You ever thought about how much he really does love you? See, I tell you what the Lord's been dealing with me the last few weeks about. All the things that surround us is the blessings for your purpose in life. Did you hear what I'm saying? All the blessings around you are the things that God gave you as a blessing. That's not your purpose. Your purpose is what drives you. Your blessing is what sustains you when you can't drive no more. You need to understand that. So Jesus didn't come to minister, but what did he do? Even the Son of Man came not to be ministering to, but to minister to me and you. What do you think he's trying to do does? See, here's the thing. We gotta understand that he's absolutely crazy about us. Me and the Father don't have no, he's mad at me relationship anymore. Because here's the thing, until you have revelation of him, you can't know him.

I love Philippians 3 and 10, when Paul said, I love the epiphy, I'm progressively determined to know him. 25 years of ministry, and Paul said, I only want to know him. I've seen all the miracles. I'm not moved by miracles anymore. I don't have to see somebody, he orders somebody that just can't walk, get up and walk. I don't have to have all that. He's my daddy. And that's what I'm looking, that personal, intimate relationship with him, to where I know that everything's okay, regardless of what's going on around me, that I know he's got my best interests all the time. If you think he's trying to teach you something through all your problems, then you can't grab hold of his love for you. And that's what he's trying to reveal to the body of Christ all over the world. He's not mad at us. That's the mentality the church has. That's what they hear preached that God may get mad at you and put you on your back, but he's passionately in love with us. See, you got to know the love and compassion that God, I'm showing him to you today, and watch this. And this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shared for what many for the remission of sins. Now watch this. And this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shared for what? There's that word again for the remission of sins. How powerful is the blood of Jesus? Well, then, wait a minute, on, listen to me, you say that and you, you act like you mean it.

But let me ask you something, what's something in life worth? What somebody is willing to pay for it. He must have thought you were pretty valuable because he created and gave his only begotten son for you and me. So is the blood that powerful and that valuable or are you that valuable that he was shedding his blood so you could have life? See, he done that for the many. He done that for that drug addict on the street. He did that for Hitler. He did that for Stalin's. See, we're mad at Hitler because he killed millions of Jews. We ought to be upset with Adam, he killed everybody. Think about it in a minute, Adam killed everybody. But Jesus said, if I can get him back, so I'm going to come and represent the first Adam and I'm not going to be the second Adam, I'm going to be the last Adam because I'm a redeemed mankind and I'm going to lay down my life because I created man to be perfect in that garden and for that man to have an intimate relationship with me and he lost it in the garden, but here's the thing. I want you to see grace in the garden. God was not mad at Adam and even the garden. He loved them so much. They ate of the tree of good knowledge and now they knew good and evil, but the tree of life was in the garden and they didn't touch that. And so Jesus said, here's what I got to do. I got to get them out of this garden because they eat a tree of life. They remained the same forever. So I'm going to protect them and my grace is going to provide for them and I'm going to take them out of the garden and I'm going to sustain them and I'm going to keep them covered by the blood of an animal until Jesus can come and redeem all mankind and he didn't listen to me.

He didn't redeem just church folk. He redeemed all the mankind and now all the mankind is absolutely free because of Jesus Christ. That guy walking the street is free. When you and I were in sin, we were free. We just didn't know we were free. He who the sun sets free is free indeed. Read that scripture again. He's made us free. I believe it's John 832. You and I have been made absolutely free. Do we really believe we made free or do we still on this thing? Well, I miss God. I miss them. I miss them. Oh, get over it. Listen to me. He, he don't know what you're talking about. He wiped it clean. Go to Romans 5 and 15, but not as the offense. So also is the free gift for if through the offense of one, many be dead. Because of the offense of one, many be dead, much more the grace of God and the gift of grace, which is by one man. Jesus Christ had the bound unto that same many. That's the same many. The totality of a specific. The complete group. How many did you read that? Now go to Isaiah 53 and 11. He shall see the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied by the by his knowledge,

shall my righteous servant justify many. Justify him in there is that word again for he shall bear the meaning. He shall bear their iniquities. Now watch this, this is powerful because you got to understand this. See, this is where we don't understand. Jesus loved you so much. He, he declared you righteous for he shall bear their iniquities. Iniquities is not transgressions. Iniquity deals with the soul of a man. So the priest had made a Levitical priest prophecy before Jesus died that he was going to come and redeem mankind. He was going to be justified because life of the flesh is in the blood. So what's going to happen? He's going to justify many by the justification of his soul, his Suki. a vidicle prophecy under the old covenant that he had to happen. He had to die first soulishly before he could go to the cross. So he was going to bear mankind because what happened? Adam lost his mind in the garden when he saw thought he was naked. And God said, "Where are you at?" He said, "I don't know where I am. I'm lost." I'm paraphrasing. He said, "Who told you you were naked?" They had been naked their whole life. The word naked means transgression. In other words, it means transparency. In other words, they saw who they really were. They didn't recognize who they had been. See, you can't see who you really are. You can only recognize who you've been.

Because you have that soulish mentality to think like you were instead of think like who you are. You're never going to act like who you are until you think like who you really are. As long as you hear that sinful mentality every week, you're going to walk in that sinful mentality and never recognize you're something. See, here's the thing. Let me go to here. When Jesus asked Peter, he said, "Who do they say to him?" He said, "Well, I'm saying you're a prophet." He said, "Who do you say to him?" And he looked at Jesus and he said, "You're the Christ." He didn't say, "Well, no, I'm not. I'm trying to get there, but I'm really not him. I'm just a servant of God." That's not what he said. He said, "Flesh your blood." That revealed that to you, brother. You got that and the gates of hell should not prevail against what you just got the revelation because I'm going to build my church on that. He wasn't talking about all hell was going to fight and stop him from happening. He was saying, "I'm going to be buried on the third day I'm getting up because I've got a command from the father of John 10, 18. I'm going to get up and redeem everybody. Everybody's going to be free." That's why he told John, "Peter, Peter and the boys, I'm back." He loves us. He's got you. He's got that person on the street. He's got you. I'm fixing to shake it.

He's got your children. Now, I realized why God told me to never pray for my children because I found a scripture and that scripture says, "The seed of the righteous shall be saved." I stand on that for the rest of my life. My children's got to be saved. They've got to be saved. I said, "Got to be saved." They've got to be saved. They've got to be saved. We're sitting here praying for something that's already done. The people in you, how much God loved them, they went and struggled with all their sins all the time. Well, I'm just a weak old flesh. That's not why he said about you. He said, "You're the righteousness of God. You're a blessing, highly favored, deeply loved. Everything you put your hands to is going to prosper. You're the head, not the tail. You're above and not beneath. You're blessed in the city, in the country, everywhere you put your hand, you're blessed. You're blessed." Look at somebody saying, "I'm blessed." See, you really don't believe that though because if you believed you were blessed, you'd act different. Amen? Amen. Now, I want you to go with me to Romans 5, verse 15 in the King James Version. We just read part of it. But not as the offense also is the free gift for if through the offense of one, meaning be dead.

That's everybody, right? How many of you were born and dead? Everyone I was born in the sin, right? Really? That's why you're born again. Much more that the grace of God and the gift of grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, by the bound unto many and look at 16. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift for the judgment by one to condemn, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification. So one man made everybody condemned, correct? One man made everybody justified. Now, justification means declared righteous. How many of you know Jesus declared you righteous? Do you really believe he declared you righteous? Well, then why don't you act righteous? See, we're afraid of God, because we don't know him. I'm not afraid of God. He's not afraid of me. I fear God, but I'm not afraid of God. You said, what do you mean by fear in him? The Bible says, "Hate what he hates and love what he loves." Romans 8, 13, that's the fear of the Lord. I hate what he hates and I love what he-- whoa, does God hate? Sure he does. Sure he does. He hates and sends so much he's done away with it. Look what he said in the 17th year, "For if by one man's offense, death reign by one much more day which receive abundance of grace, and the gift of righteous shall reign in life by one Christ Jesus." Are you reigning?

Are you really reigning or are you just surviving? Be honest. Are you really reigning means you're ruling? Are you ruling or reigning? Are you rocking and rolling? Which one? Are you really ruling and reigning in life? You're doing it by Christ Jesus. Now the word "rain" is a kingdom word that says, "Man, you're going to reign in earth." Listen, it says, "Much more they receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteous." Now, abundance you receive, the word "receive," it doesn't say achieve. Come that you might have life and have life more abundantly John 10 10 now He said we would receive abundance of grace listen to me God spoke to me several years ago And if you've been here a long time, you know this he told me one time He said Pete you can exaggerate my grace and you still won't understand it We can say that about your life Some of you been saved four or five times In your experience what she's right. I mean I had this little boy went the camp one time on there forget it And he went the camp and he come home. He said he got up a Sunday morning some pastor I said yes, sir, but he said I got safe seven times a week Ever not I said you did he said I want to make sure it's thick this time Think about in a minute. How many of you been safe sevens eight times? You ever you ever heard this you're gonna recommit You ever heard that rededicate you life rededicate it to what? If you how can you rededicate you didn't never get it to start with Seriously, he got you He chose you before the foundation world. He made you accept it in the below it. Think about it a minute All you did was accept what he's done. You didn't accept him. Oh, I'm really shaking the tree now

Why because he done it all for you. He died resurrecting the city didn't have any places Ascending to the father and all he said is you got to believe that I am who I say that I am and you can walk in this glory He didn't say I got to live right act right dress right look right do right cut the hair right Don't wear makeup wear makeup. He don't listen. He don't care. He just loves you He loves you. He's not mad. He's not up top with it Listen to me if you go check, I'm gonna say it God is not gonna come down and fix everything for you. You're thinking this what's wrong with you What's ever man thinking in his heart? That's what he is. Wherever man thinking in his heart That's what he is. Be you not conform this world But you transform by the reunion of mine promised women to first Corinthians 2 16 you and out and have the mind of Christ Think about it a minute He is crazy about you He knows every breath you've ever took everyone you haven't took everyone you've skipped everyone you've missed Think about it a minute. He's a sovereign God. He knows everything. He's already present. He's everywhere How you gonna get out of his presence? He created you for him. You can't get away someone that creates you for him He was in you before he knew his engine.
