The Lie You Don't Know You Believe | Jennie Allen | IF:One Night (With ASL)

We want nothing else but you. And for any way, God, that we have wanted other things, God, we're just here to say we're repositioning our heart and our lives and our minds back to we don't want anything else but you, Jesus. And God, we are praying for a movement of your spirit in this night. We don't need to do another conference. We don't need to have an event. We need a movement of your spirit in our hearts, in our lives, and out of our lives. So we are asking for that from you. So come, undo us, shift us, reveal things to us that we don't even know, that we have gotten off track, that we have believed things that aren't true, that we have even followed the enemy down paths that have caused destruction in our lives. God, would you make it clear? God, I pray a special protection over this room, as many have prayed and I have prayed earlier today, God, but we pray it again, over this room and over every room that hears my voice right now. We are asking for your presence to protect us because we're going to go do business and we're going to fight the enemy and we are asking that the enemy that has no power in any room that hears my voice right now, in Jesus' name. We are asking for your spirit alone to have power and to work. Protect us, God, and convict us, and move us where you want us to go, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. So, hi guys, my name is Jenny Allen, I have been around this block a few times with many of you and it is such an honor, such an honor to get to lead this organization. Things have been happening and I don't know if you follow me on Instagram, but I've been trying to just keep up. People ask me like, oh my gosh, what was that revival like? And I'm like, which one? It just keeps happening.

And it's happening all over the world. It's happening in rooms, in churches, in prisons, on college campuses, it's happening all over the world. But I thought maybe just to give you a glimpse of what it's like to be me. I call myself a lot of times Lucy in Narnia on Aslan the Lion's Back. That's what I feel like. I don't know how I got to do this. I don't know why I get to see these unbelievable things happen, but man, have I seen some things. And so let me just tell you about my last few weeks, okay? We won't even go into the 20-something campuses we have seen so many students come to Jesus or the prisons that I could tell you about. I'm just going to tell you about my last few weeks. So about two weeks ago, I am at Southeastern University, SEU, and I'm just going to give you a little glimpse of what went down if you didn't see it on the Internet. I don't know if you saw it, but we did this. We had to call the ministers. We had to call the ministers. And then we had a ministry. Whoever built all the ministries, and almost the whole ministry board. Like we called the ministry. I don't know. It's been two hours. I don't know what's happening. And then, so that's incredible. That was two hours after they were supposed to be released to class and to lunch. Yeah, it's wild. And then, let me show you though what broke open the room. You ready? This is it. I didn't ask them to come forward.

Idolatry, pornography, they're yelling it out. I don't know if you can hear it, but there's weeping in the background. There's weeping in the background. So, let me tell you when the room broke open. Let me tell you first what would go on to happen. So, I sat next to the pastor, Pastor Jonathan, at SEU. Now, we're 30 minutes over. Now, we're an hour over. Now, we're two hours over. And nobody wants to leave the room. They're canceling lunch. They're canceling classes. They don't know what to do. They're taking it hour by hour. For 10 days, they didn't stop singing. For 10 days, they sat in rooms and sang. These students. Now, let me tell you about that. in the comments on my Instagram where that feels like emotionalism and that kind of thing. I get it. I totally get being cynical of something. Let me just say, I want you to imagine singing for six hours and not looking at your phone. And they're college students, and they did it for ten days. So you tell me that was just emotion. God is doing something on earth. His Spirit is pouring out in a very unique way right now on earth. And I just feel like the girl that is getting to end up on the front row over and over again in all different types of environments. And I'll tell you, friends, what I have felt as this has happened. Are you going to stop with Gen Z, God? Are you going to stop with college students? And I got this call a few weeks ago. My friend, Pastor Ed Newton from San Antonio. God, I love that man now. And he invited me. He said, Jenny, I don't know what's happening, but for the last few Wednesday nights, we've had this prayer gathering. We do it every month. But for the last few Wednesday nights, people have been flooding and coming in. They're

parking a mile and a half away. And something has changed from prayer and worship to salvations and repentance. Something's changed in the room. And can you come and lead and serve? And I was like, sir, I will come to see what I have begged God for. That it would jump the river and hit the church. I will come to see what I begged God for. So let me just tell you a little bit about that night. I mean, these are just my last few weeks, y'all. So I go to Community Bible Church in San Antonio. And I preach my guts out. And I know about halfway through I hear water, but I don't know where it's coming from. And then I know that I do an altar call, pure just come to Jesus altar call. And I don't know, 150, 200 people come forward, respond to an altar call at a prayer meeting on a Wednesday night. Yeah, it's amazing. Thank you. That is amazing. But it didn't stop there. Because I had spoken to the camera to the 300 students that were in a separate room and said, if any of you want to come to Jesus, come on. Like, just come on in here. Well, Pastor Ed had to get on the stage and say, Jenny, they're on an eight-minute delay. So we got to wait for them to hear the gospel. So while we wait, I've been filling up the baptismal about halfway through your message. Does anybody want to get baptized? So 100 people come forward to get baptized. So now we have the almost 200 people over here. We have the 100 people that have come forward to get baptized. And we have this, we're still waiting on the students. And then the next thing you know, the students come running in and with tears are standing right here in the middle of these two groups. And me and Pastor Ed are confused of exactly how to lead in a moment like this. I believe we are on the beginning, in the beginning stages of an awakening that's happening not just in the U.S., it's happening all over the earth. And we don't know that it is not a final harvest before Jesus comes back. We don't know. So I am gathering, regathering the if-gathering. It has been two years, team, because we believe in you. Because we believe that if awakening is coming, if God is pouring out His Spirit in a unique way and the harvest is ripe and the laborers are few, that you women all over the earth make incredible laborers. And I believe that together, praying for God to move in our neighborhoods, in our kids' lives, on our campuses, to pray for revival in your workplace, to pray this in. I believe in you as the tip of the spear. I get to speak to a lot of pastors and leaders because of what we did with Gather 25. I end up in those rooms a lot. And let me just tell you what I tell them. I'm like, you want

to know how we gathered the entire global church? Women. You want to know how I'm watching revival break out on campuses and prisons all over the world? Women are praying. Women, you are part of this story in a massive way. God wants to use you. And I know some of you are like, I don't know. Let me tell you about that. And that's actually what I'm going to talk about tonight. There's a part of you that says, yes. You say, I'm in. I believe what Jenny is saying is true. And I believe God is moving. in a unique way, and then there's another part of you that's five years old, eight years old, 12 years old, that has believed a lie, and that lie has shut you down for a very, very, very long time, and we're gonna take this seriously for a few minutes together, team, because I believe this is a frontier that must be crossed for God to be unleashed on the earth, that we no longer believe the enemy's lie, because he has put in each of us a core lie that we believed at some age. I don't know how old you were or what happened, but at some age, you believed something that has stuck with you, and honestly, you would defend it to me if we went to coffee. I would tell you that it's not true, and you would pull out evidence because you've done it, and you would say, let me show you why it's true that I am worthless, that I am unlovable, that I am helpless, let me show you. I'll give you evidence, I'll show you what happened when I was 23, I'll show you what happened when I was five, when I was 10, I'll show you. I have watched you do it, I have watched my daughter

across from me do it, defend it. I am worthless, I'm helpless, I'm unlovable. These are the lies that Psych 101 would tell you all the humans believe. Now, most of you wouldn't say those words. You wouldn't say to yourself, I'm helpless, I'm worthless, I'm unlovable. Let me show you what this room said instead. Let's just take a minute and look at it. So that's from this room. That's what you believe is true. So I wanna just ask you for a minute, what is the lie that you're believing? Because let me just tell you, it is affecting everything about your life. It is affecting your relationships, it is affecting your purpose, it is affecting everything about your lives. What is it that you are believing? Anybody in here relate to the one, or did you say the one, I'm a burden? Anybody? Raise your hands, I see you. Yeah, okay. Here's what I want you to do. I want you to be brave enough to say, okay, I think the one that I believe, and even if you think it's true, I just want you to say it, and I want you to say the one that feels hard to say.

So you're gonna turn to your neighbor, and if you're sitting next to your mom, you know the rule, turn the other way. You're gonna come here, you're gonna come here. Everybody do it, go. If you're in a living room, do it with each other, go. Who me? Who me? No one. No one. Who me? No one. No, no, no. Who me? I don't see anybody, what a terrible idea. Yeah, all the time. I don't bother anybody, I love everybody. All right, all right, tell me what they are. Yell them out, yell out your neighbors, just kidding. Go, yell it out, come on, I want to hear you. Talk back, what? Not enough, come on, yell it out. Complicated, what? That you ruin everything. Hard to love. You're not productive, that you don't matter if you're not productive, yeah, I get that. Back here. Come on, up top, yell it out. Hey, come on, be good at this game.

Okay, so everybody's got them. Here we go, hi, what's your name? Alicia. Alicia. Okay, Alicia, you feeling brave tonight? Yeah. I didn't prepare Alicia for this, but she was one of the ones that raised her hand when I said, who feels like they're a burden, and you raised it fast. And so, tell me about that. Um, I'm in the stage of life where my son graduated college, so I feel like I don't really have a purpose. Once you lose that purpose, you almost feel like a burden. So here's what I want to do. I want to tell Alicia what you see, so just start yelling it out. Hold on. Chosen, brave, amazing mother. Wonderful. You have purpose. Are you taking that in right now? You feel that? Okay. Thank you. Thank you. That was brave. Y'all were really good at that. Here's the problem with what you just did. It wasn't even hard for you. You heard her lie and it sounded stupid and it took zero seconds for y'all to start bombarding her with truth and it begs the question, what if yours isn't even true? What if you have been believing something since you were five years old as truth like it is oxygen that you're just taking in day in day out. It sits there unquestioned

and you believe it. What if it isn't even true? I want you to imagine how much time you give to the thoughts behind me. I want you to imagine, I'll tell you, 80% of humans thoughts are negative. I'll tell you how much time you're giving 80% of your life to toxic thoughts that may or may not even be true. Now, when I worked on this project, let me just tell you really clearly, it was clear early on that I wasn't writing a self-help book because the reality was a self-help book would mean that eventually we could be worth something. We could hit a mark, measure up, hit it and be okay. We could eventually get enough people to like us and love us that then we would be lovable. Eventually we could control our lives enough that we don't feel helpless. And so we work really hard at all of those things because I'm going to tell you right now, there is a prince of this world and he has made you a slave to his game and the slave to his game has to play by his rules and his rules are silence, isolation, striving performance, hit the mark, fear. That's his game. That's his rules. If you want to pledge allegiance to his world and his game, you got to play by his rules. And guys, I'm going to tell you right now, the church has gotten really good at his game and we're really tired from playing it and we're not tired from all that God has asked us to do. We're tired because we've been playing the enemy's game in the name of Jesus. This is, this is urgent. This isn't about your mental wellbeing, although God cares for your mental wellbeing, but there's way more on the line than that. If we're looking and staring down one of the greatest movements of God on earth, I've got a few hundred thousand women tonight huddled up. I say we get free and I say we challenge the lie that has set in our bones and

defined us for too long. And that is where the people of God clap because that is what we want. That is what we want. So to do that, we're going to look actually at one of my favorite parts of scripture. It's super creepy. I'm always drawn to things in the Bible that are interesting and there's a lot of it, but this is super interesting. This is Jesus and the devil facing off. So if you don't know the story, he's been fasting. Jesus is just been baptized by John the Baptist. He has a voice from heaven has said, you are my son in whom I am well pleased his identity has been spoken over him. It is clear. You know it like Jada just preached it You know it that is what he said God of the universe spoke Jesus's identity You're my son and I am well pleased before you go do all the things you're about to go do for for me and the world And the future world and all the things I love you now You're mine today I'm pleasing you now carpenter boy And So here they are Jesus 40 days hasn't eaten He's in the wilderness. He's preparing to go into public ministry from here. He will go and serve God in a public remarkable insane miracle Crazy stories we still talk about today way But it would begin and first he would go through this testing and The enemy would come and as the enemy does John 844 says in fact when we start there John 844 so funny He's talking to the religious people So beware he says you belong to your father the devil and you want to carry out your father's desires He was a murderer from the beginning the devil not holding to the truth for there is no truth in him when he lies

He speaks from his native tongue for he is a liar and the father of lies I am a writer and I am telling you to say something five times in two sentences means you want people to understand it so the devil is a So the liar Devil shows up in the wilderness where Jesus has been fasting and preparing to go public with his ministry and I'm gonna go ahead and say what I want you to Think about for a minute with me Consider with me for a moment But I believe what I'm about to ask you to consider is going to be difficult for you to consider for some of you most of you maybe I believe that the greatest Season of ministry and fruit and harvest that you will have in your life is about to come And I want you to think that Jesus had to tell everybody this story Nobody was there the devil Jesus we find out later some angels showed up. We know the Spirit led him there the Spirit was there Jesus had to walk out of the desert and tell everybody the story. Why do you think he told us the story? He told us the story because he knew we would have a confrontation with the devil, too I'm gonna give away everything right up front And most of us have lived in the confrontation in the wilderness and we've never given the devil an answer So here's their moment the tempter came to him and said if you are the Son of God tell these stones to become bread and Jesus answered it is written man shall not live on bread alone But on every word that comes from the mouth of God, I have heard this taught and how Jesus answers With Scripture and yes, it is true, but let me just give you another idea I don't think Jesus is answering with Scripture. I think he is answering with a worldview So in this moment, he's tempting him with a felt need he hasn't eaten in 40 days the man's hungry and he offers him bread And Jesus answers him with a worldview He says everybody thinks they live on bread alone

But there's something greater there's something supernatural happening I'm gonna answer you With what? I know to be true of my father and what's coming So he turns down the first temptation and Then the devil took him to a holy city city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple if you are The Son of God he said throw yourself down for it is written. He will command his angels Notice the enemy is using Scripture against God He will command his angels concerning you and they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone and Jesus answered him I Don't have to do that. I Don't have to do that Because my father doesn't need some test To show me I'm loved I know it That's the that's the way he answers. I don't need your bread. I have something from God God, you don't understand. I don't need to test the Father because the Father loves me and I don't need it proven to me. I'm loved. We're good. And then the enemy says, he takes him to this high mountain and he shows him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. All this I will give to you, he said, if you will bow down and worship me. I want you to think for a minute that the prince of the world had the power to give God in the flesh the kingdoms of the world.

We don't give him enough credit. He's more powerful than you act like most days. See, the enemy will play one of two tricks. He will play subtle or he will play big. He will play subtle where you don't ever think about him, you're not bothered, it's not on your mind. Or he will play big and he will scare you. He's done it to me. And then it says, Jesus said to him, away from me, Satan, for it is written, worship the Lord your God and serve him only. And then the devil left him and the angels came and attended him. Here's what I think is happening. Team, one of the greatest movements of God is in motion. It is happening and it's going to happen in your neighborhood, in your city, whether you pray it in or not, because I believe God is moving. And we'll watch it over the next decade. But I believe he is inviting you into the participation of it. And he wants your gifts. In fact, it says, scripture says, he prepared in advance good works that you would do. So I want you to picture you're holding a big old box and all in it is little pieces of paper with good works that he prepared in advance with your name on it.

He's like, let's go. Let's cause some trouble, let's go. And let me tell you, the enemy has come and told you a lie and you have believed him instead of God and you have believed that you are not worthy, loved, in enough control to cause trouble and so you've sat there and you've stalled out. And this is what I see in the church. It's just spinning and spinning and spinning and the enemy's waiting for an answer because he's told you a lie and you haven't answered him back yet. And we're all sitting in the wilderness wondering why more isn't happening in our family, why more isn't happening in our lives. And it's like, we believe the lie and we haven't ever given him an answer. We've just kind of subtly agreed with him. Yeah, I'm worthless, I'm unlovable, I'm hopeless and I'm shut down and I'm waiting. And this is what I pictured tonight. I picture we get angry together and I read that calmly and I'm gonna read it again with some fire in my bones. You ready? Say it with me. Away from me, Satan. Away from me, Satan. I think he's had his moment with your mind. I think he's had his moment with your family.

I think he's had his moment with God's church and I think it's time for us to actually learn to fight back and not just accept it and quietly and subtly believe it and agree with it but to say no more. No more. Look at Jesus. You know what he does after that? Away from me, Satan. I don't need what you're selling because I have a kingdom and a father that has a different set of rules and he's a king. And the prince of you, this little world, let me tell you about my king. One day, you will be finished. You will have no power. But till then, I am patient and I can wait because I believe what God has said is true. I believe it's true. I'm not unlovable. I'm a child of God. I am not a slave. I am a daughter adopted just like Jada said. I've been welcomed boldly into the throne room of God and you pray, you are welcomed in there. And I'm secure in the love of God and how he loves me is enough for me. I don't need the love of all the people. I'm held in the hand of Jesus and nobody can take me out of it.

Like let's. get a little feisty. Let's actually believe everything I'm reading is scriptures. I'm not gonna ever be abandoned, I'm fully known, I'm fully loved, I'm fully forgiven, and I'm fully free because of what Jesus has done for me. That's how we talk to the devil. And I'm not helpless. I'm not helpless. God has given me power. He has made me full of his spirit. I don't have to live like defeated that I can't fight these things because he is the one that is fighting on our behalf. We're not alone. We're not alone. This is what we say to this. I'm more than a conqueror. I'm victorious in Christ. I'm an overcomer because of the blood of the lamb. I'm strong in the Lord and his mighty power. I'm equipped with the full armor of God. I'm entrusted with authority over the enemy. Luke says that we have power to trample on scorpions and serpents, meaning that you have authority over the enemy in your house, in your mind. You get to say, get away from me, Satan, and you get to keep fighting. But let me tell you, one of the greatest ways we do that

is we fight together. And so here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna get feisty for each other. Hopefully in every room that you're listening to my voice, you have already named what it is that is binding you, what you've believed, what you've given energy to. Now we're gonna fight it. So I want you, and by the way, let me do this. If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, if you got invited to If Gathering by your neighbor, I wanna tell you about him, and I'm gonna do this later tonight as well, but I just wanna say that the only reason we can say these things is because of what he did for us on a cross. The only reason we don't have to measure up, that we don't have to be loved, that lovable, that we don't have to control everything, the only reason is because of what he did on a cross. And what we're gonna do right now is we're just gonna share with each other, okay, this is what I'm fighting, and I want you to say the hard thing, because I'm gonna tell you something right now. If you've believed it since you were 12 years old, it has had power over you, and deep down, you think it's true, and that's the hardest stuff to say. But we're gonna give you a minute just to pray for each other. It says that after the enemy left,

that angels came and ministered to Jesus. And I just, I pictured this moment, I just pictured us ministering to each other. You know what, even just today, I felt beat up. Like I just felt beat up. I felt oppression on my life, and it wasn't coming from one thing, because I'm fighting this stuff regularly. I've got friends, and we do this work like twice a week, not on special nights at events. We do this all the time. And so I reached out to a friend that's just really good at praying about these things. And he prayed. And guys, I felt that ick lift off of me. I want us to be people who pray and believe it can change things. I want us to be people who believe that when we lay hands on each other, and we say, I pray in Jesus' name against any darkness that has come against my friend, I wanna be people who believe that that kind of prayer matters, that darkness is fought like this. So can y'all do this with me? So to the person that you shared the lie with right now, I'm not giving you long, I'm giving you like two minutes, two minutes to fight the devil, go.

Oh God, we believe for just a moment, we want to believe for the rest of our lives that what you say of us is true, that we are your children adopted, that we are your co-heirs, that we are your co-laborers, that we are your ambassadors on earth, that we are filled with your spirit, that you have prepared good works for us to do, that we are more than conquerors. We want to believe what you have said about us, so God, help us, and Satan, get back. In Jesus' name, amen.
