We love you, Jesus. All of my heart body is full. We love you, Jesus. All right, I wanna give some really, really, really good news. Go ahead, Kevin, put it up. I just asked him to put it up last minute. All right. All right, so first, all right, hold up. All right. So Florida recovered 163 missing children from two months old to 17 years old, real quick. Man, the Lord, I don't know how many people in here, I've been interceding for that, but the Lord gave me a dream about this four years ago and showed me that there's kids being sex trafficked in Florida and specifically, yeah, specific areas and he told me to start praying. So I've been laboring in prayer for years for things like this to happen. And when I saw this news, I was, I mean, two months to 17 years old, they were locked up 163. And what I wanna do right now is I wanna pray for these three men. I don't know their names, but I feel like we gotta pray for these three men that they would encounter Jesus. Let's all stand up and let's intercede for them, that does all come in agreement. I don't know their names, but I feel like they can encounter the love of Jesus

in that so, 'cause we want the devil to lose big time and God cares about them. And so Father, we just pray and we say, according to your word and your promise, you wish that none would perish, but all would come to repentance. Your mercy, Father, is endless. And Father, you love all three of these men. Father, we know that they've been through things when they were younger that caused them to get to this place to allow the enemy in. And we don't wrestle against flesh and blood. So Father, we ask, according to your word, who the son says free is free indeed, that you would set these three men free Lord, that you would set them free in the prison cell, that they would come to repentance and encounter with your love, and that they would preach to gospel in that prison Lord, that they would give them another chance to preach to gospel Lord, to advance to kingdom Lord. We thank you, Father, for all the children who are restored back to their families and parents. We thank you, Lord. Now this is the beginning of many, much darkness being exposed and brought to the light. Father, we love you. We thank you that you answer the prayers that align with your will. And we pray this all together in the name of Jesus Christ

and the church says together, amen. Hallelujah, give Jesus some praise for this big victory. Hallelujah, Jesus, we praise you, King. We praise you, King Jesus. (dramatic music) Amen. So near and dear to my heart, y'all may be seated. Let's get into the word. So near and dear to my heart, man. I'm not gonna stop praying. It's not these men, it's the devil. I was looking at them, they're not up there, but I was looking at them three today. I just had compassion. It just went through things, man. And they just allowed the enemy in, but God is so much bigger than all that. Thank you, Father. So I wanna talk about a passage today. I've been meditating on for the past couple of days. Lord had me change my sermon, my teaching. Couple of days ago, it's gonna line up with everything in the house of God tonight. How many people, first time here, anybody? Welcome, welcome, welcome. Cool. Welcome to the rock where Jesus is, though. Amen. We're gonna talk about the rich, young ruler. Y'all ready to break it down?

Who's ready to eat? Tap in, everything talk cannot be caught. That means actually listen with your heart to the word of God. Receive it, let go of everything you're thinking about and focus on the word of the Lord so it can transform you, okay? Y'all ready? And then after I give this word, I have a good friend who's gonna come up and tie his testimony to this word that I believe is gonna touch a lot of people. Amen? All right. So we're gonna start in Mark chapter 10, verse 17. If you wanna pull out your word, you will have it up there all for all the online, digital disciples, digital revivalists. God bless you, tune in in the chat. It's gonna be a good word. All right. So in this passage, Jesus is on the way to his crucifixion. to be crucified, to be betrayed, condemned, mocked, scorched, and killed. And he meets this man on that road to his crucifixion, to Golgotha. A wealthy man runs up and catches Jesus, the son of man, again on his way to the cross, and asks him the most important question

a human being can ask. Verse 17, now as he, Jesus was going out on the road, one, this man came running, knelt before him and asked him, good teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? He's asking, what must I do to be saved? So Jesus said to him, why do you call me good? Is Jesus God, is Jesus good? But he's asking this man, why do you call me good? No one is good, but one, capital O, and that is God. So is Jesus contradicting himself here? We're gonna break that down. And then Jesus says, you know the commandments to this rich man, do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, is that a commandment? No, honor your father and your mother, and this rich young ruler answered and said that Jesus, him, teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth. Then Jesus looking at him, loved him and said to him, one thing you lack, one, go your way, sell whatever you have and give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven and come. Take up the cross and follow me. He says this before he even goes to the cross, before he was even carrying a cross. But this man, this young rich ruler was sad at this word and went away sorrowful, everyone say sorrowful,

for he had great possessions. All right, we're gonna break this thing down already. This is the only man in all four gospels who runs to Jesus and walks away sadder than he came. Everybody else who ran to Jesus left what? Healed, delivered, forgiven, raised, but this man leaves grieving. And tonight we're gonna, I'm gonna walk you through why? Because the reason is buried in the words most of us have read a hundred times and never once slowed down to meditate on. He did everything right on the way in. He still got it wrong at the door. Look at how this man approaches Jesus, right? He runs to him. A wealthy man in that culture did not run. His running was undignified. Running towards another man was for servants, for children. So this man was acting like a servant, like a child, running to Jesus. Is that the right thing to do? Yes. He gathered up his robe, spread it down in public, in front of a crowd, and even knelt down. And that Greek word, for knelt, means the posture of supplication, the posture of worship. So he runs to Jesus like a child does a father. He kneels down in worship, but then he calls Jesus good teacher. He's eager, he's humble, he's doing it in public,

he's respectful, honorable. If that man walked into this church tonight, everyone would say, this man's a serious seeker of Jesus. And then he opens up his mouth and calls him a teacher. That word in the Greek is the word rabbi, instructor. It's a real title, wasn't an insult. But hear what it says about why he came. He came for curriculum, not for lordship. He came for curriculum to learn for his own life, but not lordship where Christ is dead. [BLANK_AUDIO] he's approaching the Son of God the way a man approaches a consultant. Tell me what the standard is and I'll go do it. He wants a task, not a master. And Mark, in the book of Mark, it proves it's the wrong title in the exact same chapter. 30 verses later in that same book, we have a poor, blind beggar sitting in the dirt named Bartimaeus. And you read in the book of Mark, 30 verses later, when he hears that Jesus is passing, he starts screaming, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me." There's a difference, one says, "Good teacher, what must I do to be saved?" And another one says, "Jesus, Son of David, Son of David, have mercy on me." One wants the requirements for him to work for his salvation, the other one realizes he can't and needs mercy.

Good teacher, that word good in the Greek is the word agathos. And here's something almost nobody in this room has been told. That form of address is essentially unheard of in the Jewish writings of that period. Rabbis were simply called rabbis. Rabbis were just teachers. Rabbis were never called good because in the Hebrew mind, good was a word that belonged to God alone. Which means the man reached for an elevated, unusual flattering compliment. He was trying to flatter him. It was a warm up. It was the kind of thing a rich, well-mannered man says to open a negotiation before he gets to the real ask. He was manipulating Christ. Church, you can have the flawless posture and still have the wrong person in your heart. You can run the church near the altar, use respectful language about Jesus and still be treating him as a resource for your own life instead of a ruler over your life. Is Jesus being added to your life to make your life better for your own benefit or is he the ruler over your life where your life is a living sacrifice for him? There's a difference in posture. Some people want Jesus so their life can get better so they can do things and experience things for their own self adding him to their life like a self-help coach will come to church

and worship and praise and give and fast and do all these things because in their heart they want their life to get better instead of Jesus being Lord over their life. The Bible says when we come to Christ we die to our own desires. Our life dies and it's no longer us. It's the one who lives in us, Jesus. Are we surrendered to Jesus as Lord or just a good teacher? Do we realize that we need mercy and that our life is for him because we deserve eternal separation forever? But by his grace he's brought us in and grafted us into his body to be sons and daughters where now we live for him and his glory alone for real or are we adding them to our life so our life can get better so we can get what we want. Is Jesus a teacher or Lord? What shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? Family, those two words do not belong in the same sentence. Nobody in the history of the world has ever worked for an inheritance. Inheritance is passed down by the Father not for anything the child does but simply because the child is an heir. But this man's heart was what can I do to receive what I want from my own life. He wanted Jesus to be teacher, counselor, self-help coach. He wanted Jesus to give him everything he wanted to house,

the inheritance, the car, let's bring it to modern day. The wife, the children, the breakthrough, the better job. [BLANK_AUDIO] instead of for who he is. We want the blessings from God, but not the one who blesses us. And I'm telling you, our hearts are exposed on this walk where we are like that young, rich ruler many times. You do not earn your inheritance. We can't earn something that was given to us freely. You can't outperform your siblings for inheritance. An inheritance comes to you by one way, by being a son. It comes by birth. It comes by belonging to the family. So this man walks up and asks how to achieve the one thing in the universe that could only be received. He is asking to purchase only what a child is given and the tragedies that he says it out loud to the only person who could have told them the answer and he does not hear the contradiction in his own question. That is the gospel, hiding in plain sight in the first sentence of the story. So look at this. Some people will say, what do I have to do to get this breakthrough? How much do I have to read to get this breakthrough? How many times do you need me to show up to church God in order for me to get what I've been praying for? How many days do I need a fast for this to happen and for this to happen?

We're doing things to try to achieve something that has been given to us freely. Inheritance is not just going to heaven. Inheritance is the word sozo, which is everything that has been given to us in his word, freely by grace through faith. Do you have faith in you doing it to achieve it or Jesus giving it to you freely where fasting becomes worship, where giving becomes worship? That's why you'll never see me on this altar say, give so you can receive this. We say give onto the Making Disciples Project because God is moving here as a form of worship because God is moving here, period. We don't say give so you can receive your deliverance or give so you can receive your healing. Give so your family member can be saved. That's not how it works. When we give from a place of worship onto God, can he do those things if he wants to, how he wants to, if we know he wants to, when he wants to, but if our giving is transactional, we're giving for us and not for him. Does it make sense? Does the word of God have promises that God is going to give us the desires of our heart? Does God give us deliverance freely? Does he give us healing freely? Does he give us salvation freely?

Does he wish that none would perish but all would come to repentance freely or do you have to fast for 15 days in order for your mother to be saved? It's free. So these things that we do for God is supposed to be from a place of worship knowing we've already received everything for free. I don't take my wife out to eat every week hoping that she'll stay with me and not divorce me. You see, it sounds crazy, right? Imagine if every Thursday, babe, I was taking you out hoping that you won't divorce me. Does it make sense? I take my wife out to have dinner because I love her and because it's a form of worship onto God. That's God's daughter, that's my wife. He loves her, I love her, and I want to spend time with her. I know that by us going out, it pleases God, it pleases my wife and we get to bond and get closer than ever and let all ministry and kids and everything come out the picture and we focus and look at each other at that dinner table. She stares at me, I stare at her, she smells my breath, I smell her breath. I watch her eat, get food stuck in her teeth, she watches me, but it's face to face. I'm not freaking out like I hope this date goes well, so it doesn't give us a divorce because if I don't do

the right thing, she's gonna divorce me. I don't do that, that's being fearful. Does that make sense? Everyone say worship. Say what God, it's not transactional. Jesus does not answer his question because Jesus is obviously God. he actually audits his vocabulary. He audits this man's vocabulary. He says, "Why do you call me good?" Does Jesus know he's good? He does, but he knows the man doesn't really mean what he's saying. He knows the man's looking at him for what he can give him instead of for who he is. So instead of answering him and the way that he wants, he says it in a way that makes him start thinking, "Why do you call me good?" For no one is good but one. God, right? Because the man does not see him as Lord and only sees him as teacher. So even though he comes and he kneels and good teacher and he knows all he's saying all the right things, I know his heart. He's trying to manipulate me, but I know what he's thinking. Why do you call me good? There's only one good God. And then he starts calling out the things that he knows this young ritual he knows he thinks makes him righteous. There's many commandments. He doesn't mention you should not worship any other God. He doesn't mention the graven images in idolatry. Why doesn't he mention those commandments? Because he knows that those are the commandments he's actually breaking. So he mentions, like I said, under your mother and father, not to defraud someone. He doesn't even say covet. Every group on the earth that denies who Jesus is runs to this verse and says he denied being God. Muslims will use this passage to try to prove to Christians that Jesus is saying he's not God because they can't understand what this passage means by the Spirit. They'll say, look, even Jesus himself said he's not God, but they don't read the whole passage to

understand the heart of what the Father's trying to say through the Scriptures. That's why you have type ears to hear. You can't see that unless the Holy Spirit reveals it. Only God is good. You just called me good. So one of two things is true. Either take the word back or follow it all the way to where it leads. That's what Jesus is about to teach him. You say I'm good. You say I'm Lord. You say I'm all these things that I'm going to give you the recipe for what you need specifically. People will use this passage and think you see God doesn't want us to have money. God doesn't want us to have treasures. God doesn't want us to be rich. That was never the issue. You see Zacchaeus in the tree, he gave a path for the things he own. You see in the Scriptures, it's never about the object. It's always about the heart. And Jesus knew that this man's heart was attached to his objects, his money. So he exposes his heart. Jesus again quotes the law to a man who knew the law, could not save, and he left half of it out. Again, now somebody is thinking, wait, if Jesus is God and he knows that nobody is saved by keeping commandments, why does he list them all? It's because he was using the law, lawfully. Paul says the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, right? And that the law, by the law, is the knowledge of sin. So the law convicts us of sin and teaches us that we need Jesus. Is the law evil? No. The law convicts us of sin to let us know we need a Savior, right? So he's holding up a mirror. And again, do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud. Honor your mother and father. Every single one of those comes from the second table of the law and the commandments about your neighbor. Look, now let me tell you what's missing. You shall have no other gods before me, not there. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, not there. You shall not take the name of your Lord and vain, not there. Remember the Sabbath day, not there. Every commandment about God is missing from the list. And that is Jesus surgically marking the area of his heart that was wicked. He kept the neighbor commandments. And Jesus is not dispute that. Jesus does not say no you haven't. Mark says he looked at him and loved him. Something in that man was genuinely real, but a perfect record. So Jesus deliberately reads out the only commandments the man is keeping, the man stands there in front of everybody and declares himself clean. All these things I have kept from my youth in verse 21 and Jesus hands him the first commandment without ever even quoting it. This is what he says, "Go your way, sell whatever you have and give it to the poor and then come

follow me." Why did Jesus do that? Does that mean that when we come to Christ, if we have material, if we have possessions that God wants us to sell everything and be poor? He's exposing the man's idols. It's just like somebody who was a drunk in the world and when they come to Christ Jesus says, "You will drink no more." I don't want you to drink at all but the Bible says we could have little wine but he doesn't want you to drink because you idolize alcohol. It's like coming to Christ and you idolize boyfriend, girlfriend, you're idolize other people, relationships and God says, "I want you to be celibate and not court or date for the next three years." Is that a commandment for everybody? No but for you, he has to rip that idol out of your heart through your obedience. By you needing him and depending on him through that trial and being obedient, he reveals to you that your heart needs some healing and then you go to them and cry out and say, "God, this is an issue in my heart. I really want this and I know it's not time. Please help me." Instead of going to your idol in Christ and letting that same very idol take you out of following Christ. You see, God is a jealous God. Jehovah can now who wants to deal with the idols in our heart. All of us are like this young rich ruler. For some it might not be money but it might be something else. For some of you it might be your dreams and your aspirations in life. Maybe you always wanted to be for the young people. You always wanted to make it to the NBA or a major league baseball or professional soccer. Maybe for some of you, you've always wanted to have a successful business. What did you desire in the world and I can tell you your idol and also your calling? I can tell you the idol that God wants to rip out and heal and then the same calling is going to send you back in to reach the loss. But you can't go and walk in a calling if you still have an idol in that area of your heart. But Pastor, I'm gifted in music. I used to do it in the world. That's great. You idolize it though. Let God heal your heart for this next year and let go of that idol and serve or do something completely different before you go into music. Because if you don't and you transition too early and prematurely, that same very thing that you're called to do to win souls will be the same very thing that takes you out. And I've seen that happen too many times where people want Jesus to be good teacher, to transition their desire to be a music whatever and now they're in Christ and they think I could just keep going. No, you need to keep seeking the Lord, getting healing so

that idol don't take you out. I'm trying to put you all on game. God does not want to put you in an assignment that will steal you from him. The devil loves to prematurely do things. That's why when you come to Christ, God's going to put you somewhere completely opposite to what you think you're supposed to do. You're calling his music and he wants you to serve in the children's ministry. You're calling his business and he wants you in your church to help people with their finances. You're calling his professional sports, but in the house of God, he wants you to be a door holder. He wants to strip you of you so it could be all him and he gave the young rich ruler this opportunity. Jesus looking at him loved him. Only Mark records that. Matthew doesn't have it, Luke doesn't have it, and it's the most devastating clause in the whole passage. He fixed his eyes on him and loved him. Jesus loved this man and this is the only individual in the gospels of whom it's in another gospel account and says that he kissed him. And the man, even though Jesus loved him and kneeled down to kiss him, still walked away. You can be looked at by Jesus and loved by Jesus and still say no to Jesus. Jesus loving you is not a guarantee of surrender. Love is what told this man the truth that costs him everything. One thing you lack, which means in the Greek there's one thing you're falling short of. He came asking what to do and Jesus told him what to lose. So many will come to Christ and say what can I do for God? And God's saying stop, I want you to die in certain areas of your heart. God, I'm ready to be used by you, God. I see this guy online, I want to go with souls like him. That's probably your calling, but you're not ready yet. I'm ready though. No, you're not, you still have idols in your heart. And God is too jealous to allow you to walk in something

that will destroy his relationship with you. So I ask to teach you secret place life, intimacy with him. Teach you the word and teach you prayer and teach you worship and teach you and these things begin to, even the cultivate intimacy with God, then the desires that you have for the world begin to get stripped away slowly and surely by the spirit of the Lord. And then you begin to see man, this was always you that was giving me the desire to begin with to even do what I'm supposed to do in you. You can't get the glory. If you get the glory, he'll lose you. Everyone say Jesus gets the glory. Again, Jesus is not making poverty, a requirement for salvation. Again, he never told Zacchaeus to sell everything. Zacchaeus volunteered half and Jesus said his salvation had come to his house. Zacchaeus was a tax collector who defrauded the people of Israel. He was a thief, he was a scammer. And when he was in that sycamore tree and Jesus saw him, he said, "I'll give half." And Jesus didn't care about how much he gave. He looked at his heart and said, "Hey, salvation has come to his house," because he knew his entire heart was for the Lord. So it was never about how much. He never said it to Nicodemus. Joseph of Arimathea, he stayed a rich man

buried the body of the Lord. So again, this is diagnosis of the heart, not law, not doctrine, that I must give up everything financially or materially to follow Jesus if I want to be his disciple. No, it could be for you if that's the idol in your heart. And catch what he actually offered him because it was never a loss. Sell whatever you have and give it to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. So Jesus was not asking that man to be poor. He was offering him a transfer. He was saying, "Your account is in a bank "that is going to fail. "And I'm offering you to move it "somewhere that I never will. "Relocation." Jesus told him to move his money and he would not do it. Look at these three verbs. Sell, give, come. The selling and the giving were never the goal. The whole point was come. The first two verbs only existed to clear the road for the third one. An invitation to take up the cross and follow him. The man was not being invited into a Bible study. He was being invited on a road that ended up by Golgotha by a man who was already walking to it. He asked for a task, "What can I do?" Jesus offered him a person Christ and he turned it down.

He was sad at this word and went away sorrowful. That word sad in the Greek is a rare word used of a sky darkening before a storm. His whole face clouded over and then Mark closed this with nine words that hold the entire thing together for he had great possessions. He came running to... and he went home holding the inheritance he already had. So he wanted his inheritance, not the inheritance of the Lord. So God is not saying that you have to sell everything you have to come to Christ. Or when you come to Christ, now give up everything and live on the streets like a homeless person, no, he's not saying that. You can be homeless and still have idols in your heart. And you can be rich and still have idols in your heart. It's never about material. It's never about your location or situation. It's always about the heart. Where your heart is, your treasures will also be. So what fuels you to do what you're doing in life? When you come to church, why do you come to church? Is it for your breakthrough? Or is it to worship that the God who brings breakthrough? And worship, are you praising God? Are you worshiping God in adoration? Because you just want your son to be saved, or your daughter to be saved so bad, or are you worshiping him knowing he will save your children?

Putting that to the side. And worshiping him simply because of who he is. Do we want Jesus from ministry? On how we can work for him to fulfill the desires of our heart, that are empty and broken from the past, when nobody accepted us, where people looked down on us, where we failed in so many different areas. I'll be fulfilling that now with ministry in the name of, I love Jesus. Because we didn't make it in the world and now I got to make it in Christ that is still your dreams and the pride of life tainting your heart. Or we serve in Christ from a place of knowing him and worshiping him and loving him. I can tell you about what you think and speak about throughout the day. What is on your mind and what is on your lips throughout the day? Is it Christ? Is it his word? Is it how good he is? Is it your experience with him? Or is it what you love without him, the idol? 'Cause out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth, we've all been the young rich ruler. Nobody's exempt, including myself. We've all been that person who wants our desires and dreams to be fulfilled before Christ.

This is why intimacy with God is so important because as we cultivate that, God begins to shine the light on our hearts so we can give more and more to him as we go through sanctification. No one comes to Christ having everything perfect. You come to Christ with a bunch of good where your feet need to be washed. This is what discipleship is for. To come to Christ as you are and let him clean up your heart. He knows this already. He knew the ending of the young rich ruler before he even made his step. He knew the young rich ruler would want his possessions more than him. And I said this in a sermon before I believe, I personally believe that after the crucifixion, the death bill and resurrection of Christ, word got around. And this young rich ruler probably heard of what Jesus Christ went through and what he did and how he resurrected and proudly repented and gave his whole life to Christ. I believe that. I believe that Jesus, when you looked at him and said, and the Bible said, and he loved him and kissed him. I believe he gave him that word and he knew he would walk away sad, but later on, he would repent and come to Christ.

I believe it wholeheartedly. You know why? Because I've been like the young rich ruler in Christ. And God had mercy on me. If it was one and done, we'd all be done. There's not one person in here who has not been like the young rich ruler at an area of your heart. I say this, I wanna encourage you. It's not about perfection. It's about letting God perfect your heart through his spirit and his word. It's coming to God, recognizing I do have idols that need to be dealt with and you're jealous about me and you wanna knock them down. And I'm here, vulnerable God, knowing that I need you to do that and I let you do it and God works on you. [BLANK_AUDIO] Because once God presents those idols to you you have a choice Let him destroy them with his love or continue to love them that destroy you I want Jesus to destroy my idols I want Jesus's light and love to reveal idols that I'm holding on to in seasons that I thought I let go of I want Jesus to show me my heart so I can surrender it and confess it to him and so his love can pulverize these idols And have a brother in the in the faith was a powerful testimony we met about over a year ago On social media and begin to talk and we begin to talk about the secret place and intimacy and his testimony It's true fruit of this someone who gave up idols Who allowed the grace of God to clean his heart? We got to hang out this weekend Truly a man of God and I say that before the Lord a true man of God who loves the Lord who seeks to Lord who has the character of Jesus Christ

Was testimony is extremely powerful. I Didn't know that Chandler Had the level of influence. He has I had no idea to be honest I knew that he was part of the number one YouTube channel in the world But I didn't know it was like that and so we went out in public Kind of freaked me out a little bit not gonna lie But I'll tell you this man has been the whole time meek Lowly and humble and I know that that's not because of him. It's because of what Christ has done in his heart Because he's surrendered So let's honor my brother chant Chandler Howell Again a true man of God who has a powerful testimony I want y'all to lock in for those that don't know he was started on mr Beast as a YouTube channel number one YouTube channel in the world and man He's gonna talk about what God did in his life and where he's at now So I want you guys to tune in and really listen to a man who was once like this young rich ruler amen Thank you guys, man, what our honor is to be here That was a good word praise God Man, I just want to thank you pastor rich and your family You just and everyone on this front row really and everyone here. It's been a blessing just to be here Like you guys are just love the Lord and it's evident. I just want to honor you guys for that Amazing, but yeah, I just wanted us start with How the Lord showed me how to surrender, but I want to start with my testimony first so I Grew up going to church And I went to church every Sunday. My mom's on the worship team In a church like this, you know, we believed in the Holy Spirit. We love the Lord. We're worship. We read the word and And I did that my whole life, you know growing up and I thought I knew Jesus I knew he was my Lord and Savior. I believed him in I put my faith in him and Then when I got out of my parents house, I went to college and I really found out that I didn't know Jesus real

My faith was tested. I started to do drugs started smoking weed drinking partying Fornicating And I started to do those habits in college And looking back now I realized that I didn't actually have a faith a foundation of faith of my own in Jesus It was my parents faith. That was in the covering of my home. And then when I left it It exposed everything in my heart Yeah And then after college, I came back home. I Got a job For the summer I ended up dropping out of college all the habits that I picked up in college. I brought back home with me I was living on my own. I started smoking more. I started drinking more started having sex More doing all these things Every day even getting into other drugs. I was just chasing that that feeling Just being left empty from every time having to go back to it like this Just every day more and more and more and then finally I was so tired of it after two years straight just doing those things I Just started the crowd to the Lord in my room because that's the only thing I knew how to do I knew how to pray because that's what we did in my house going up I would cry in my bedroom going, Lord, please save me. Do something. I'm literally tears rolling down my face. I'm in my room like a baby because I'm just so scared and I'm done and I feel so hopeless. And then I wake up in the morning and I do it all over again. I was spiritually bound by these things. And I was praying every night. And then finally after praying for two weeks, every night, I woke up one morning and walking around my kitchen like this, just depressed, lonely, anxious, thinking that it's going to be the same day over and over again.

And then the Lord, I heard the Lord speak to me and said, "What are you doing?" And I froze in my kitchen and I started looking at my hands and I said, "What am I doing? What am I doing?" And it's like the Lord just peeled the scales off my eyes and I could see for the first time in my life. And I started to throw everything away. All the weed, all the drugs, the alcohol. Little, I just threw away, I was throwing away dirty dishes in my house because I wasn't doing dishes. And I had two giant trash bags full of all of this stuff and I threw it away out just in the dumpster. And from that day on, I started to truly seek the Lord to know Him for myself. And I called my brother, Zach, because he was walking with the Lord and I asked him, "I told him everything." I said, "What do I do?" He started to pray for me and he told me to read the word, starting the book of John, I just keep reading. And that's what I did. And he checked up on me every single day. And so I felt free. I was, the Lord just broke the bondage off of me in that moment and I was able to choose Him. I was able to repent and choose Him. And the Lord saved my life. And I would praise God, praise God. Thank You, Lord. I will do you. Now, the Lord saved my life.

And I truly believe I wouldn't be here today if He didn't come and save me in that moment. But I want to talk about now, now that I'm saved, now here comes the surrender. You know, a lot of people get saved, they give their life to Christ, they have an encounter, but then now the Lord starts to work on your heart. Starts to chisel away everything on your heart so that He can make room for Him. And that's what He did in my heart. So I started to read the Bible. I told myself, I said, "I'm going to read one chapter a day before I do anything." And I felt good about it. I'd read one chapter and then I'd go and do what I wanted. I'd play video games. Not bad things, just things I love doing in life. Basketball, baseball, video games, these things. And then the second week, I read two chapters before I did anything. And then the third week, three chapters. And then the fourth week, I found myself just being captivated by the Word. And I want to say this one thing, I did not like reading. I hadn't read a book since third grade, since I picked up the Bible. And I had that pray and be honest with the Lord. I said, "Lord, I want to want to read your Word. Can you just give me that desire?" Because I knew I didn't like to read.

I thought I was boring and I just didn't like reading. But being obedient in what I could do in the moment, the Lord used it to grow me and read in the Word. In the more and more I started to read the Word, I remember this one moment specifically. I read for the day. I felt good about it. And I went upstairs to play video games in my room. And I played one game and then conviction just hit me like, "This is not what it used to be. This has not given me the desire that I was looking for." It's like the Lord showed me like, "I'm going to let you taste it and show you it's not as good as what I'm going to give you." When you spend time with me. And then I played one game and I was like, I just told my friends, I said, "I got to get off." And I started to just open my Bible again. I was like, "This is better." The Lord, once I trusted the Lord, He showed me that there was something better. Spending time with Him. Because I loved video games. But it was above spending time with the Lord. And He started to slowly show me that He was better. My love for video games or these things in my life were above the Lord. And He started to take it away out of my heart, slowly and slowly, making room for Him in my heart. So now He is my greatest love in life. And I want to challenge you all today. Ask the Lord to search your heart.

Ask, say, "Lord, search my heart and show me where you need to make room in my heart." and the greatest love of my life. That's what I still pray that, still. Lord, search my heart just like David. Search my heart, O Lord. If I had any grievous way in me. Yeah, that's part of what the Lord's been doing in my life and that's how the Lord taught me, surrender. So yeah, that's it, that's it, yeah. (congregation cheering) Amen, I said good. And I hit him up about a podcast. Like, "Hey man, why don't you come and throw in "to do a podcast," right? He was like, "Okay, I'm gonna pray." And he said, "Hey, I want to go out there in the field "and really get active in evangelism." And man, I told, I prayed and I was, and the Lord showed me, he already has it in him. So he came out, first time he went out to evangelize that Genesis, right? Where they at? Y'all here? Stand up, stand up. They got baptized that Genesis, look at that. Yeah. This first time, man, the Lord drew him on. We saw a woman's leg get fully healed or ankle. And he was moving just like you would never even know it was his first time.

And the Lord just had his way, man, and he was activated and just, again, has blessed his house. We played ball together, hung out together, chopped it up outside of social media. And again, I say this, true man of God, that has a calling on his life, where there's gonna be many souls saved to the power of the Holy Spirit. So, yes. True evangelists, man, okay? So, yeah, thank you, bro, for real. That's this house. And I want to do something real quick. Can everyone stand up? Yeah. Okay. Like, my brother said, he had everything, the money, the fame, all these things, but he wasn't fulfilled. And off camera, we've talked and like, he's really like, it's serious. You would never even know. Some of the things that people desire, I mean, this man traveled the world. Every time we spoke, there's something new, and I'm like, what, you did that? You went there, what? Like, I say, I traveled the world. Like, he really traveled the world. I need to get specific of where I went,

'cause this man went everywhere. But he wasn't fulfilled until Jesus filled him with his presence. And that just, it encouraged me, someone who had more than me in the world that knew that it was only Jesus, once he encountered his love. He tasted. So real quick, if you've been feeling like, man, I wanna give my life to Jesus, and you know it's time, maybe you've been the young rich ruler who's been putting your idols before Christ. Maybe you've been that person who's been faking it, but now you wanna for real, give your life to Jesus. Or maybe for some of you, it's your first time. You have a man up here who had everything that, anybody could, that people would die for. And it didn't fulfill him until Jesus saved him. So if you know that that's you and you wanna give your life to Jesus tonight, I want you to come to the altar right now. We invite you to the altar, come up. Come on up. Come on up, come on, let's give Jesus some praise. Come on up to the altar. Come to the altar. Don't hesitate. We're gonna pray for you.

We're gonna pray for you. Come to the altar. Jesus died on the cross publicly, so we publicly confess our faith. Amen. That's what this altar is for. True, surrender, true, confession, true. You just want Jesus for real. Amen. Come to the altar. Come on, away from everybody to come up. Come on up. Hallelujah. Prayer team, let's get ready. Prayer team, come on up. It's only Jesus that saves. There's nothing this world has to offer, man. It's only Jesus. When you taste, like he said, he began the taste of God's goodness. And as he tasted of God's goodness, the desires for the things of the world just begin to fall off. That's Jehovah, Kana. All he did was give him a chapter a day, two chapters, 30 minutes, and God kept doing it. That is proof that it's God who does it, and all he needs is a little bit of faith. A mustard seed that grows. So none of us can get the glory for what we do. It's all the grace of God, and the more we seek him, the more he changes us. The Bible says, "Draw near to him," he draws near to you.

That is a fact, and it's supernatural. He didn't even realize it until later, like, "Wait, hold up, this is really happening." So again, if anyone wants to give their life to Jesus, come to this altar, I know we have all these people, but I feel like there's more you can come to the altar, and we're going to pray for you. Amen? What age? Doesn't matter. Come on up, and Jesus is going to meet you, wear your hat, and begin to strip the idols off your heart. I'll say it again, I really believe the young rich ruler we're going to see him in heaven. I fully believe it. I was in prayer, and the Lord showed me, "You think he's in hell?" I said, "No, you've been the young rich ruler." And I was like, "Damn," and not just once, too many times. And I was just like, "Man, he broke me down," where I was like, "He's in heaven." I believe he repents it. So all right, for everyone at this altar, I want you all to look at me real quick. God's not mad at you, he loves you, and it's his spirit that fills you and changes you. All he needs is surrender, and he doesn't need a crazy religious surrender, he just needs you to... God, I... It's dependent. You know what it means to surrender to say, "God, I can't do it." "Can't, I literally need you," and believe that he can do it. Amen. I want all of you to alter, to close your eyes real quick. Just listen to me as I say, this simple gospel. The good news is this, before you ever even knew who Jesus is, he loved you and protected you.

And you sinned, and even in your sin, that separates you from God, for eternity, once sinned what you've all done many, he still loved you and drew you. He drew you to this message that yes, you've sinned, then you deserve eternal separation and hell. But there's one who was perfect, who actually did work for salvation. Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, of the perfect life, gave himself in after three and a half years of ministry proving his deity through miracles, signs and wonders and fulfillment of messianic prophecy, Jesus Christ gives himself in to take the brutal punishment that we deserve for our sins. If I go downtown Orlando and feed a thousand people right now that are homeless, but then go murder someone, I can't stand before a judge and say, "Judge, I know I've murdered, but I've fed a thousand homeless people." He'll say, "Great, that's great that you did that, but you murdered. You deserve the death penalty." So all of us deserve death, sin is death, but there's one who never sinned. Jesus who took the death penalty for us, imagine you're standing in front of that judge knowing you deserve the death penalty and there's a man who comes and says, "Hey, I'll take the punishment for what he did and I'll die for him." That's Jesus, who took the punishment for everything you deserve for all the sins you've committed and was beaten and scorched and mocked, brutally tortured because God is a just-judging sin requires punishment. It pleased the Father that the Son went through these things and he went upon the cross, was nailed to it, crown of thorns, beaten into his head, dripping blood, molds, unrecognizable. God forgive them for they don't know what they do and completed an hour of excruciating torment on that cross. For us, it was finalized. He gave up the ghost, meaning he died and he defeated Satan. He defeated sin and he defeated death in the grave and after he died, he was buried and rose from the dead on the third day by the power of the Holy Spirit. Sin requires death, but he never sinned.

And he shed perfect blood, 'cause blood is life. He did it for us. The good news is this, even though you deserve death and eternal separation, there's one who came to take the death penalty for you. Jesus, and not only did he die, and shed blood so that you can be forgiven, he rose from the dead by the power of the Holy Ghost. So you can have power over the enemy, too. So you can have power over sin, too, and power over the world. Greater is he who is in you than he who is of his world. So Jesus wants you to know that he loves you, and he proved that through what he did for you, John 3, 16, for God so loved the world he gave. His only begotten son that whoever believes in him will not perish, but everlasting life. So if you accept this, that you need a savior, Jesus, that you need him to save you tonight, if you recognize that he's Lord, not just teacher, but Lord, not just the one who's gonna come in and make your life better, but the one who's gonna actually crucify your old life and give you new life and reign over your life as a loving father, you know he's Lord, you know he rose from the dead and you're ready to repent. I want you to repeat after me for everyone in person and watching online. Say, "Jesus, you are Lord. "You died on the cross.

"For my sins, you shed perfect blood. "I'm forgiven. "I'm fully forgiven. "One more time, I am forgiven." Say, "You rose from the dead "by the power of the Holy Spirit "on the third day to give me power." And I repent. I turn from following sin. I turn from following the world. And I turn from following myself. I fully depend on you. Say, "Jesus, fill me with your spirit "in Jesus' name." And we all say together, amen. All right, hallelujah. Stay right there. Before we pray for you, we're gonna lay hands and pray for you and you will be set free and healed tonight. Baptism, I wanna explain it. Baptism and water is so important. It's the first step of discipleship. So many people get baptized as a baby without knowing the gospel. And that's just a bath. A baby dedication that match. So many people get baptized, hoping that God will just be happy that they got baptized and make their life better. That's transactional and that's not what baptism is.

Baptism is when we die under that water and we rise a new creation clothed in the righteousness of Christ with a clear conscious knowing that we are divorced from the world. Our old self is dead and we are born again, living with the righteousness of Christ. That means the right standing of Christ. The perfection that he completed, the works, is now to us, it's ours. It's ours because of what he did. Free gift, free. Everyone say free. Baptism is sacred and holy. And that's what happens when you go under that water, you die and you come up new, born again, yes. So if you got baptized in the past as a baby or with the wrong revelation, you just took a bath. One baptism is when you truly repent and believe this gospel message and you want it. So according to what I said, who here needs to be water baptized? Raise your hand. Raise your hand high. Come on. (audience cheers) All right. I want y'all to come right now. Go get baptized. How we're here able to sing and lift up our voice and dance in such freedom is because of what Jesus Christ did for us. It wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior. That's why I love communion, that's why communion is so very near and dear to my heart. So before we even partake in communion, I want us to just take a moment to examine our hearts because communion is extremely sacred, it's very sacred. And I really just urge you to examine your heart. If you know that you're living in any willful sin, holding on to any unforgiveness, anything like that, this is the time to let it go. It's as simple as just giving it to God. And if you're that person. Who may justify any unforgiveness or bitterness. I just kindly ask that you refrain from partaking in communion with us. And for all of our digital revivalists as well too, wherever you're watching from, I invite you to partake in communion alongside with us no matter where you are, you're with us and spirits.

So whatever you can grab, crackers, juice, whatever the case may be, grab it so that you can enjoy just communion with the house of God. Can I just have everybody stand up for a moment if you can? Let's just stand up. Let's just stand up. Let's just stand to our feet. I just want everybody close their eyes, I'm going to say a quick prayer. Heavenly Father, right now we come before your feet, before you're thrown. And we lay down every weight, we cast aside every burden, we cast aside every heaviness. Every sin right now, we lay that your feet. We know what's inside our hearts and right now, each and every one of us, together in one mind and one accord, we come to you Lord, laying at your feet, any pride, rejection, bitterness, woof who sin, any lust of the heart, lust of the eyes. We lay that your feet tonight Lord and we say, deal aggressively with the sins in the heart. Deal aggressively with the sins in the mind. Deal aggressively Lord so that we may look like you. And I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, that anybody in this building, whatever that we may be holding on to, but even by your thread, that is not of you, we give you full authority, access to strip it and rip it away from us. We thank you that this is done in your mighty precious name, and we say, amen family. I want to share a message with you guys and it comes from 2 Samuel chapter 9. You see, there are moments in scriptures where God gives us more than a story. He gives us a picture of the gospel and one of the clearest pictures of grace is in the Old Testament and it's found in the story of Mafebesheth, that's a hard name to pronounce. But 2 Samuel chapter 9 verse 1, it says, is there still anyone who was left of the house of Saul that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake, everybody say Jonathan's sake. You see that question right there is powerful because David wasn't looking for someone who deserved his kindness. He was looking for someone who he could show kindness to. And eventually David finds Mafebesheth, the son of Jonathan, the grandson of Saul.

But the interesting thing is that as David finds Mafebesheth, he is afraid because he knows the history. You see, Saul with David enemy, and I want you to track with me because this is a perfect Mafebesheth, it's actually us. Saul was David's enemy, so the normal expectation when a new king takes the throne is that he removes the possibility of another family member rising up against him. So when Mafebesheth is brought before David, I can only imagine everything that he's thinking. He's probably thinking in his mind, this is it. He's about to kill me. He's about to wipe me out. I've been an enemy of his for as long as I can remember, for as long as my family has been alive from generation to generation, we have been an enemy to David. I'm about to die. And I want you to pay attention and hear what David says. As he comes before, Mafebesheth says, he bounced himself and he said, "What is your servant that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?" He called himself a dead dog. That's how Mafebesheth viewed himself, not worthy, not valuable, not deserving, not somebody who should be sitting anywhere near the king, yet David says, and here's the beautiful response of David, "Do not fear." Everybody say, "Do not fear." He says, "For I will show you kindness for Jonathan's, your father's sake, and that's grace." You see, I want you guys, this is a beautiful picture. Mafebesheth expected judgement, but David showed him You see, we all deserve judgment, but the Father showed us mercy on account of Jesus Christ's sake. On account of what his son came and did for us, we were all accounted,

and we should all be like how my fellow described to himself like a dead dog. We were all enemies of God. Going our own direction, doing our own thing. We were enemies of God deserving to be an lie a lady, but yet the Father sent down his son because he loved us so much, and a son who willfully came down, and it brought him joy to go through all the things that he went through so that, because he knew what he would gain through his sacrifice. He knew that he would gain no longer orphans, but sons and daughters. That was his heart. That was the reason why he did everything. He knew that he would truly gain children, true children of God. And so as we come to the communion table, I want your mind to rest on this. I want you to understand this and truly grasp this, that you're not an orphan anymore, that you're not an enemy of God anymore, that you have been given access into the holies of holies because of what Christ did for you, because of his sacrifice, because of how he laid his life down for you. The righteous one was perfectly righteous so that you could be made righteous. He who knew no sin became sin, so that you can be freed from sin.

That's the beauty of the gospel, isn't that beautiful? So I want everybody right now to just take out the bread. This bread right here, I want you guys just to lick at it. Lick at it, lick at the bread. As you lick at it, I want you to break it in half. You can keep your eyes open because the Holy Spirit has a way of ministering to you, even when your eyes are open. You see, as you broke this bread in half, that's what it looked like when Christ broke his body in half for you. He went through extreme suffering and pain, torture, literally being ridiculed by the very creation that he created. I want you to imagine that. The Creator literally being scolded by the creation. The Creator being humiliated by the creation. By all he went through all of this, and he adored it because of one word, love. Because he loved you that much. He loved you with an everlasting love. Before you ever did anything good or bad, he loved you. That love is what allowed him to endure such breaking. So I want everybody to hold it high. Hold up the bread. That represents the body of Christ. And I want you just to close your eyes. Heavenly Father, right now, all we can say is thank you. All we can say is thank you, Jesus. We were once your enemy, but yet you came down. You came off your throne to restore us.

You, King Jesus, came off your throne to reconcile us back to the Father. The word of God says that you were slain before the foundation of the earth. So that means that you had us in your mind before even the earth was formed. You already had a plan. It was true love that allowed your body to be broken in half. It was true love that kept you on that cross when you cut it came down. It was true love that kept you from calling upon 12 the legions of angels. It was true love that allowed you to go through what you went through in the wilderness. It was true love that allowed you to be baptized when you had no reason to be baptized because you had no sin. But you chose to identify with sinners. It was true love that allowed you to say on that cross with every breath, with the last breath that you had, with the nail scratching on your back, with the nails in your hands and your feet, it was true love that allowed you to say it is finished. It was true love. We remember the breaking of your body as we come together and we sit at the communion table and we do this in remembrance of your sacrifice. You all may now take of the bread, the body of Christ that you may eat. (gentle music)

Hallelujah, I want everybody right now just to go ahead and open up the cup. (gentle music) (gentle music) (keyboard clicking) Okay. You see, the Word of God says in Luke 22 verse 20. This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. You see, when we take the cup, we remember somebody's shed, his blood for me, and that's somebody is Jesus. You see, communion is not a celebration of how good we have been. It's a remembrance of how good he has been. It's not look at what I accomplish. It's look at what Christ accomplished. So I want you to hold the cup up high in the air, because this blood right here frees you from the legal obligation, the legal debt that was owed to you, that you owed, that you were supposed to pay. It was paid with the blood of Jesus. So every lie of the enemy, every accusation that the enemy rightfully had at a point of time, you have been vindicated by the blood. So I want to give you guys an understanding. Every time when the enemy comes and he thinks that he can stand before the king of kings and accuse you. And he says, I have this accusation that gets your son. You know what Jesus Christ does? As your judge, and as your lawyer, he stands there and he says, okay, let me hear it. And Satan goes on and he reads all of these things and then he says,

guess what, I rebuke you because I shed my blood for that. I shed my blood for him and her. I rebuke you Satan. Not only I rebuke you, watch what I'm going to do. I'm already working in their hearts. Watch how they're going to make a fool out of you because you think you can strip their faith, but their faith belongs to me. They trust in me. That's the sovereignty and the faithfulness of God, and it's because of this blood that he shed. So I want you to hold on to that. When you're being attacked, hold on to the blood of Jesus. When the enemy comes with those lies, hold on to the blood of Jesus. When you're starting to feel shame or condemn, the enemy's trying to bring up your past. Hold on to the blood of Jesus and not only hold on to it, speak the blood of Jesus. When shame come upon you, you tell that shame, I plead the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus speaks a better word on my behalf. So where everybody holding it up, I want you to hold it up high in the air, high with faith. And let's just say thank you Jesus. Come on. Give them praise right now. Thank them for the blood. We thank you for the blood Jesus.

It's the blood. Everybody say it's the blood that speaks. A better thing on my behalf. Jesus, we thank you right now because it's your blood that speaks over us. It's your blood that speaks a beautiful word of our life. It's your blood that speaks your faithfulness. Because of your blood, what you did on that cross, we are washed from all sin. We are now cleansed because of the blood. We who are once filthy are now cleansed. And I thank you Lord Jesus that you had so much grace so when the enemy comes Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus that everybody in this building, my God, let it settle in their spirit that the blood speaks for them, that the blood is speaking on their behalf, and let them marinate on that as they worship you. As they're in their secret place, I pray my God that you will bring visions to them where they can see the blood dripping down the cross, and as the blood is dripping from the cross, Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus that they can see the blood splattering all over them, just like that soldier who pierced the side of Jesus. And the moment that blood hit his face, his eyes open, he couldn't understand what happened. It was because in that moment he just got smacked with love. He got smacked with love and liquid form. Father, we thank you, and we bless your holy name in together. We all say, you may now drink of the blood. Hallelujah, come on, let's celebrate Jesus.

Let's celebrate Jesus. We thank you Jesus, and we love you so much. We love you Jesus. What an honor it is to serve you, what an honor it is to live for you, and I pray right now that you give us strength every single day that you will remind us, Lord, remind us that we are in need of a Savior every day, that we will never go through this life depending on our own strength, depending on our own quote unquote righteousness, depending on our own world power, but Lord, I pray that every single day we will kneel at your feet, that we will come before you and that we will be refreshed and replenished. for our digital family. Give us fresh mana every day. I pray that we will not live off of yesterday's bread. But every day we wake up, my God, that you will, we will go and seek the fresh bread that you have already supplied us with. Freshly baked hallelujah. We thank you, my God, and we love you. We thank you for everything that you did tonight. We thank you for the souls that were saved. We thank you for the souls that were healed, people that were delivered, the souls that were baptized. We thank you for the word that was preached, Chandler's testimony that touched many, and I just pray, Lord, that we will take heart and we will take heed and we will fight throughout the entire week as soldiers of Christ.
