Rest in the Beloved by Dr. Pete Norris

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” (I Corinthians 1:30, 31 NKJV)

He is our Wisdom. He is our Righteousness. Righteousness is a person.  That person is my Righteousness.  Healing and prosperity is Jesus.  Grace is a person.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13 NKJV)

Jesus doesn't give you portions; He gives you Himself.

He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper. (II Chronicles 26:5 NKJV)

Then Naomi her mother-in-law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee? (Ruth 3:1 KJV)

Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:13, 14 NKJV)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 NKJV)

The Greek says, " I will rest you."

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. (Matthew 11:28, 29 AMP)

To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:6 NKJV)

We are made accepted by the glory of the Lord's Grace.  The Greek Word for accepted is Charitoo means "highly favored" or "highly Graced."   You are highly favored in the Beloved.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7 NKJV)

In Him(Jesus the Beloved).  Beloved is a warm and intimate term that was used by God at the Jordan River to describe Jesus.  

And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Mark 1:10, 11 NKJV)

In these scriptures, you can see the triune God.  God the Father spoke publicity and His words were recorded for you to know that to be "accepted in the Beloved" means that God is well-pleased with you today.  

Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:3, 4 NKJV)

For the devil's temptation to work, he cannot remind you that you are God's beloved.  The devil left the word Beloved out.  The moment you are reminded of your identity as God's beloved in Christ, he will not be able to succeed.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (I Peter 5:8 NKJV)

 The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass. (Proverbs 19:12 NKJV)

So when the devil goes about like a roaring lion, he is trying to impersonate the King. He is trying to make you feel as if God is angry with you.

“For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; For as I have sworn That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, So have I sworn That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. (Isaiah 54:9 NKJV)

David in Hebrew is "beloved."

And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” (Matthew 8:20 NKJV)

The Greek word for "lay" is Kline.   

Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. (John 19:29, 30 NKJV)

The Greek word for “bowing" here is Kline.  In other words, after Jesus said, "it is finished!" He laid His head to rest. He finally found His rest in loving you.
