Well, I don't know if you noticed or not, but I think that during 2025, perhaps the most cited biblical passage I had was Luke 2.52, where Jesus says, the word says about Jesus, He grew in wisdom and in stature. He grew in stature and in wisdom. Now, I don't know if you've ever stopped to think about this, but the beginning of Jesus did not begin at Christmas. He did not have a beginning in Bethlehem, and that is the beginning of His creation. The Bible is clear. Jesus is God. He has always existed. In Christ, He already existed. He only took flesh and experienced life as we experience it. And when He came and took flesh, the theologians know that this is really difficult. He is God, but at the same time, He is human. So He goes through some kind of growth process. In the same way that His body had to mature physically, He also had to mature in the spiritual realm. So even though He never committed a sin, He was increasing His understanding of who the Father was, and growing in His own understanding of His own identity. I say all of this, I could make a whole series about it, but it's just to start by saying this. If you want to be like Jesus, you must be someone who gives value to personal growth. Because Jesus was growth. That was His life. And if you think about 2026, just repeat 2025. You are not being like Jesus. Regardless of how mature or immature you are spiritually, if you have a heart that expresses, I want to move forward to look like God this year, to look more like God,

then you are in the right place and you are going in the right direction. If you are impressed by who you are, if you are impressed by things, then at that moment, even if you are very spiritual, very moral, you are not being like Jesus. Because He grew in wisdom and stature. He never stopped growing in wisdom and stature. The person of more age in all of our rooms today, the person of more age in assisted life, at least their hair and their nails grow. Because living things are destined to grow. And so I want to help you grow today by looking at one of my favorite stories in the Bible. It comes from the book of Luke, chapter 8. And allow me to read a portion for you. This is what it says. And Jesus was going. People surrounded him. And there was a woman with a blood flow of twelve years. And although she had consumed all her resources in doctors, no one could cure her. The book of Luke was written by a doctor, Luke. And he quickly points out that doctors do not always have the answers. And this woman did not get answers from doctors. She approached behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. And immediately his blood flow ceased. And Jesus said, Who was the one who touched me? There is a lot to talk about here. I'm going to talk about all of this. But if you want to grow, there are three things that have to happen. And one of them we see in this passage.

If you want to grow, the first thing that has to happen is that you have to ask questions. Jesus asked the question, Who touched me? Jesus asked the question three hundred times. Three hundred questions. Many of those questions were rhetorical to teach. But real questions like this, Who touched me? Or when is he on the cross? He says to God, My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? Three hundred questions in the Bible. There are three thousand questions in the Bible. That is pretty crazy. When we ask questions, we are communicating. I want to know you. I want to understand you. Maybe I want to be more like you. That is what really achieves a question. Not the type of questions that most of us ask. Like the worst question I ask. I am very embarrassed when I ask this. I know someone. What is your name? I am not embarrassed by that question. I am embarrassed that if I have a conversation and in two minutes, I am asking exactly the same question. Because the first time, I did not want to know his name. I just wanted a question to start. I just wanted it to flow. I was not listening. You see, many of us do not ask questions. Which means that we do not listen.

In Pulp Fiction, there is a phrase in that movie, Do you listen or do you wait for people to speak? You have been with people like that, right? If you do not ask, they do not stop. And when you ask, you just give them more reason to keep talking. Going, going, going, going, going, going, going, going, that person does not seek to know you. He does not seek to understand you. He seeks to understand your life. He just talks and talks and talks and talks. But when you ask a genuine question, something deep happens. You know, one of the questions I ask is a wonderful question. Let's make you ask someone right next to you right now. When was the last time you pooped on yourself? It's a great question, really. It's a wonderful question. They say, I've never done that. I've never done it. The richest person I know, that I know personally, always gets his diaper wet. I'll tell you about this man. I went out to hunt last year to the west. Casa Mayor. I have a pastor friend who has a guy in his church who is a rancher. And I think they based the television series Yellowstone on him and his right hand. I think that's the basis of my being. If you add all his ranches, and by the way, you don't know the name of this guy at all. If you add all his ranches, he has such a vast extension of land that he could cover a mile from Boise, Idaho, to Washington, District of Columbia. Crazy.

I asked him that once. He said, he's an 84-year-old guy, 85 years old. He says, every year. Yes, yes, every year. His right hand says, what? Yes, yes, yes, yes. I sent him this. It's a message I sent some friends last year, including him. I sent him this on the last day of 2025. It was great. It was great. It's a good topic to start talking about because people get serious very quickly, right? I like it. By the way, I failed in 2025. I don't know about you, but I failed in 2025. I had a good run in 2024, in 2023, but in 2025, I failed. And instead of telling you exactly what happened, Jeff Foxworthy explains it in a very effective way. But there are many things you can't learn from Google. You only learn them through life experience. Usually, you'll learn most of them from the bad ones. They're things you can't Google. I don't know if that's a word. But I call them the facts of life. They're things you can't Google. Like this, a fact of life. In the Bible, as I've been reading it, starting this year to read it in its entirety, it amazes me again how many questions there are. God asks Adam and Eve, Where are you? He asked them. Who told you? Who told you you were naked? You have Cain and Abel saying, Am I the guardian of my brother? There are questions in the whole book. Jesus grew up because he asked questions. In the book of Luke, chapter 2, verses 46 to 47, he's a little boy, he's 12 years old, his parents can't find him. Well, where is he? He's in the temple because he wants to grow. He's in the synagogue because he wants to grow. Let me tell you something. If you want to grow, you'll be in the church this year. If you don't want to grow spiritually, do what others do. Jesus was always like, Hey, I can grow. I'm going there. This is what he says. After three days, they found him.

They were out for three days. He was trying to grow for three days. He was absorbed in God. And what was he doing during those three days? He was among the teachers, listening attentively, and asking them questions, asking them questions. And everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. Little children ask 290 times a day. And as they grow and age, around the age of eight or nine, they start to go down. It's hard. And today, most of us who are adults, we don't ask a single question a day. If we ask a question, it's to make sure you agree with me and thus feel validated. We don't ask genuine questions to people who may have a divergent opinion or a system of values that is different from ours. We just don't do that action. Jesus is asking right now, Who has touched me? Who is it? He's asking. One of the questions I asked at the end of 2025, is that I said, You know, I realized, I haven't used Google all year.

Not at all. Not because I'm on an internet fast or because I don't have things to learn, but because I've been using chatGPT all year. Therefore, the way you use chatGPT is by asking questions. So every doubt I had, everything I wanted to get information about, I got from chatGPT like the value of a pin's torsion. This is a guy who created a narrative for himself with 500 and I think it reached 550 pounds. And then he decided. One day he was in bed and he was on his side

and his arm was trapped under his side and he was sleeping. And he didn't have the strength to turn around. And he realized, I'm going to cut the circulation in my arm. I'm going to lose my arm. Maybe die right here, right now. And that's what activated him. In a recent interview, he talked about determining who he wanted to be and taking on a different identity. And here is a small fragment of that. There is a slope and my entrance goes down that slope. You go down a hill and then you turn right, Joe. And you can go to the left, to a neighborhood, the same route I run daily. Or you can go to the right, going up a hill. And it's a real slope. You know? And the first day I went out, I looked at the hill. I looked to the left. And I took two steps to the left. And I stopped. And I said to myself, I was like, I'm learning about the stories we tell each other. The story I've told myself all my life

was to take the easiest path. All my life, Joe. I've always been looking for the simplest path, that is, a straight line from A to B. You know what I mean? And I was thinking, I'll break that today. I turn right. Oof. You feel it, right? Right then it's big. It's a big movement. A big moment when you say, no, I'm going for it. You know, because I'm big. And fat people don't like slopes. Scandals. We hate all that. So I was like, I face the hill. You know, I'm walking and I stop. So I walked, I stopped, I walked, I stopped. But I kept going. When I got up, there was a phone pole. I went and hit it with my hand. I just hit it. And I felt incredible. As if I had achieved something huge. I went down the hill.

I turned left. And I thought I'd go straight to the high signal and come back. But if you keep going that way, there's another hill. And in my head it was like, that's it. I did the hard part. I went up the hill. But as I passed by that other one, I said, this is the new you. You faced the slope, man. This is the new you. Today is the new you. You faced the hill. It's an incredible story. How he came to Christ. How Christ is. You can see it in his language and in everything. I'm not talking about the words, but just how he gives glory to God and all those things. And here's a guy who weighs more than 500 pounds and has literally lost hundreds of pounds. And he's going to lose 20 kilograms as soon as he undergoes surgery to remove 20 kilograms of skin from his neck. It's really an incredible story. And he basically said, I'm determined to do something. He told his wife. He said, I'm going to go running. And it took him months to be able to run.

It was not possible to run. His career was to walk. But he told himself that he was a runner. He said, I'm determined to do it. I'm going to go running. You need to look at who God has asked you to be. Who God has called you to be. Who God is training you to be. And you need to say, that's my identity. And I'm determined to do that. And therefore, all I have to do is grow to be able to do that. This is the reason why so many of us have stopped making New Year's resolutions a long, long time ago. Because the resolution process was devoid of the process of identity. Resolutions and goals only work if they are linked to the process of identity. your identity, like, well, it's something I should do, it's something I should do, okay, okay, okay. I'm going to exercise three times a week, okay. This year I'm not going to eat cookies at night, okay. This year I'm going to, whatever, I'm going to lose 20 pounds, whatever. But why? Why? Like when I have a fitness goal, it's because it's linked to my identity. And my identity is, part of my identity is, I do difficult things. So I have to be in shape to be able to lift a 600-pound motorcycle. I have to be exercising and in shape to be able to carry a lift on my back, quarters. But that's my identity, so that's why I do that.

Read the Bible. If you're going to read the Bible with us this year, I hope you do. It's been really, really good for, I think, all of us who are doing it. But I'm telling you, the reason why people don't read the whole Bible in a year, like almost all Americans are going to do that, almost no American has done it, the reason is because it's something that should be done. It's something that should be on the list. It's something that a good person, no, it doesn't work like that. No, no, no, it doesn't work like that. At least it doesn't work like that for me. I have to say that I didn't do that until I started, until I said, okay, wait, wait. I'm receiving false information from the world that is not correct and is not healthy. I need a source of clean water because I am a man of God. That is what I am. I am a merciful man, and Fox News and CNN are not going to contribute at all to that. At all. In fact, it's going to significantly harm him. And all those who repeat those arguments throughout my program, some people say, well, what are you talking about? I know you don't read the Bible then. I know, I know, I know. Because when you do it, you get a different vision of the world. When you do it, you get a different sense of what is right and wrong. And so when I, instead of reading the Bible, I say, it's not because, well, I'm a pastor, I guess I should do that. It's like, no, I want to be a man of God, and I'm thirsty for that.

I'm thirsty for a source of truth that comes. I'm determined that that's what I want to be. My time with my family, time with my grandchildren. Because, you know, I don't talk much about them because I don't want to sound like an old scoundrel. I have seven grandchildren. Seven grandchildren. And so my goals with my children and my grandchildren are not because, well, that's what a father should do. That's what a grandfather should do. Because I'm determined to be a patriarch. Now we have patriarchal systems that are taking our country down. Relax. I'm talking about a biblical patriarch. That's a person who thinks in generations and is leaving a legacy for multiple generations. When I die for God or I retire, Crossroads will forget about me immediately. And it should be like that. That's how it should be. I won't have a legacy tied to Crossroads or the memories of me. That's not how it works. But I'll tell you something. The systems I've established in my family, the conversations I have with my family, how that gets filtered, that's my legacy. Your relationships will be your legacy, not your achievements. Your achievements get you increases and get you badges and then they don't get you anything when they've been to you. And then someone else has to make the call.

It's those relationships in which you decide to invest your time and energy, whether they're people you've incorporated into your circle or those who have given you light. Therefore, when that's who I've decided to be, then that drives me to take certain actions because that's my determination. That's how people who progress act. What's your image of your destiny? It's just, no, I just want a comfortable life. Yes, okay. My destiny is just to be appreciated. My destiny is just to be popular. I just want to integrate with the rest. No, that's not the attitude of someone who really evolves. This woman, listen to Jesus ask, Who has touched me? Now, once again, let's leave Jesus aside for a moment, okay? Jesus will be the subject for the rest of our time. This woman, this woman, when Jesus says, when Jesus says, Who has touched me? This is what happens. Verse 47. I was hidden, which means that everyone realized that something had happened. Now, what happened there? What exactly happened? I went ahead in the narration.

What happened? Well, what happened was that she decided to touch Him. She decided to approach Him. This is the This is the third thing. You drive and push. You drive and push. If you want to grow, you have to ask questions. You have to decide who you will be and you will have to strive and push. She has decided to be a healthy person and her next option is Jesus in the city. I hear that people are healthy. I have to be close to him. So she goes, but guess what? There are a lot of people around because the main event of the city is present and there are large crowds wherever Jesus is. So people are everywhere and she can't reach him. She sees him there, but she can't, she can't reach him. And where a lot of people say, well, I suppose, I suppose that God has not yet opened an opportunity. Okay, where God establishes a will, he creates a path. I suppose that he has not created a path for me, so therefore I will go back. I just couldn't make it. She thinks, no, I am determined. I, I, I am going to go. So she gets close to these people and she can't. Can you imagine that they are giving her a hug and everyone wants to be close to her and she says, touch, touch the edge of the cloak. What does that mean? What does that mean? She is, she is stretching, she is stretching. She is stretching. She barely reaches the edge itself, right? Now, what I think it meant is that I think it meant that she threw herself. I didn't have the courage to throw myself right now. I think she, I think she threw herself to touch the edge of the cloak. And Jesus, Jesus, when he feels that something is happening, this is what he says in verse 46.

He says, who touched me? When everyone denied him, Peter said, everyone denied him. Like, no, I didn't touch you, I didn't touch you. He is thinking as if they were offended. He is offended that someone touched him. Everyone denied him. And Jesus says, no, no, who touched me? When, when everyone denied him, Peter says, Master, the crowd surrounds you and is oppressing you. But Jesus says, no, there are all kinds of people. What do you mean that everyone is touching you? Everyone is touching you, everyone is kissing you. There is a huge amount of people here. But Jesus says, no, someone touched me. Where I felt that the power had emanated from me. Someone touched me. I perceived that energy. Someone needed something. Someone longed for something. Someone decided to force themselves to come. Someone, someone was desperate. Someone wanted something more than what they have at this moment. Someone was thirsty. Someone had a question for which they needed an answer. Someone needed something of power. Someone felt. This is not just the usual gentile. Jesus says, something, something had to happen. There was a transaction just at that moment because someone wanted something. And here is my question for you. If you had been there, would you have been touching Jesus? Right now, right now.

Like many of us, no. I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine. How are you? I'm fine, I'm fine. Are you ok? In other words, no. I don't grow, I don't grow, I don't grow. I'm fine, I'm fine. I don't grow, I don't grow, I don't grow. How? How? Where are you right now? No, no, things are going well. I think I have everything under control. In other words, you don't grow. In other words, you don't love Jesus. No, no, no, I think I have a plan. I am doing some things. I have everything resolved. Oh God! In other words, you don't need God. If you loved Him, you would have made an effort. The reason why spiritual growth doesn't happen is because we don't love Him. And more specifically, we don't love Him. We don't love Him and we are not willing to look stupid. We are not willing to pressure. We are not willing to fall to the ground. None of that. That's why this woman is commemorated and we still talk about her. Because she had determination. She had a desire to be a different person. To be an integral person. To be a healthy person. And frankly, today, if you want to transform yourself,

those who criticize you will tell you that you shouldn't even change. Just be yourself. No, and do you want to say how not to grow? If you please me, be you. Be you. Wow! Be yourself. In other words, you are a lazy bum who feels threatened by someone else. Who wants something more from his life. That is really what it means. Jelly Roll swore, I suppose I could deserve at some point, words much softer and more docile than the ones he was using. But she approaches trembling because she desires something different. She wants that. Do you want that? What do you want this year? What is your preferred understanding of how your life should look like? Are you willing to swing and touch Jesus and maybe fall to the ground? And maybe you get dirty, maybe you get hurt in the process? We don't know this. Was she hurt? What happened to her? This is what Jesus says. Let's read it again. When she saw that she was not ok, He came trembling and falling before Him. He said to all, Why did you touch Him? And how was it immediately? Immediately He touched His mantle. She is immediately, imagine,

you have been bleeding, with colic, with all that, whatever you do down there to handle it, and immediately, well, oh, go, I'm fine, no, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine. She is the one who can say, I'm fine, go. And He said to her, He said to her, Daughter, your faith has done you good. Go in peace. What does Jesus mean by that? Your faith has done her good. Jesus has healed her. He has done her good. It was Him who touched her mantle, from the shore, which did her good. Jesus did her good. But what is Jesus saying? He says that it is your impulse to grow that has done you good. To believe, to believe that if you did uncomfortable things that you didn't want to do, she didn't want to expose herself publicly and be humiliated because she is impure. She hasn't been with other people. She didn't want to have to fight and expose herself as a woman who is in her period. I don't want to be too graphic,

but something could drip and be totally humiliating for her in public. She definitely didn't want to get attention. She didn't want to throw herself to the ground. She didn't want to do any of that. But it didn't matter because she wanted something different for her life. She wanted Jesus and what she thought Jesus could give her. The song of 2025 most listened to on my list of all the songs I listen to, the one I repeat the most is from my new friend, Dante Bo, about the blood of Jesus. And the blood of Jesus is what we will do in a moment. If you want to take out your brochure, I want to re-focus this a little. Communion, Eucharist, Mass, is called differently in different traditions. I want to tie this to what we talk about this woman today because it's crucial to understand it. It's a little kit of remembrance that reminds us of some things. Almost every time we commune, we think of the bad things we've done, the things we should overcome, the things we should ask for forgiveness for. And that's totally appropriate and great. For example, bread represents the body of Christ

that was split for you and for me. So that we are not broken eternally because He was broken for us. Blood, what the juice or the wine represents, represents His blood, His blood shed on a cross, on the ground. There was His shedding as a sacrifice. A perfect lamb so that you and I never have to shed our blood with God. There will be no eternal punishment for us because in Him, therefore, there is no condemnation. There is no condemnation. You are never condemned when you receive Jesus and when you take Communion, when you receive Him. You know, if you've come today and you're looking, this is for the people who have received Him, have received Him, and are committed to Him. And maybe you're thinking, oh, I want that. Well, great, this can be your first Communion. You can have this right now. All of this is true in Communion, but there is also another element of Communion that is true. The Bible speaks repeatedly of the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus. The blood that covers us. It is also the blood that gives us an identity. I don't know if in the first century

they understood the DNA. I'm sure they didn't know what the DNA was in the first century, but they knew they had a very high perspective of the blood. They knew the blood represented life.
