ONE NIGHT
All right, this is your opportunity, if you're out in the front, to come on in, because we're about to get started. So before we get started, can we just posture our hearts and get ready for God to do something amazing? He's in the room and He's here and He wants to move, so let's get our hearts ready. Let's prepare ourselves. Scripture says, enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. So can you just close your eyes right now and put your hands out? I just want to start tonight just giving thanks to God. So in your own words, your voice, can you just thank Him this morning? Sorry, habit, this evening. Thank you, God. Thank you, God. Before you do anything, before anything is said or sung, God, you are worthy of our praise. Thank you for the breath that is in our lungs. God, thank you for getting us up this morning. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be here tonight. More than anything, Lord, we just want to be with you. We want more of you. We want to leave this place tonight changed and different, God, full of your spirit, God, and everything that you want to pour out on us as gifts.
God, we open our hearts. Thank you, Father. Thank you for your goodness and your love, your grace, your patience with us, God. Thank you for your blessing and your favor, God, for your correction and your discipline. God, we just thank you. You are worthy, you are worthy, you are worthy, God. You are worthy, you are worthy, you are worthy, worthy, worthy, worthy, God. It is a joy. It is a joy to come together with saints and to praise your name in unity. And that's what we're gonna do here tonight, Father, because you deserve it, and you are worthy of all of our praise. And the whole church in one voice said tonight, amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.

What's your house built upon tonight? Our house is not built upon sand Our house is built upon the rock And when storms come All of those things that come our way That feels like I can't make another stand But we stand Because our house is built upon the rock And that rock is who? Amen. Amen. What an honor it is to be here tonight with all of the disciples. It's just a great night for Revolution Church. Discipleship is nothing new. It goes back to the Old Testament all the way back into Genesis 1. We see it with Abraham. We see it with Job. We see it coming through Moses, Elijah, and into Jesus' day. Jesus' day, many disciples. John had disciples. Rabbis had disciples. Pharisees and the Sadducees were part of that. That make up of us. So there was always a group of followers. A group of followers. And that's all discipleship is. Who are you following? That's the main thing.
Discipleship is very important in this day and time especially. I hope that you've maybe listened to a little bit of the news. And don't let that news get you down. Because remember we're built upon the rock. And our Jesus is coming back to get the people that belong to Him. And that's you and me. But thinking a little bit about what discipleship means. First of all, we see that it's a call. Everyone in here has been called. We all have the same calling. We all have... It comes to us in different ways, the disciples, it came to them, I'll say Peter, Andrew, James, John, while they were fishing, they had no idea that Jesus was coming by that day. They were doing what they love to do, is fish. I love fish. You like fish? Some of the women, yeah, they like fish. But they were enjoying themselves, but Jesus had a crowd following him, a multitude that were following him, and he asked John. They had fished all night. He asked Peter. Peter and Andrew had fished all night long. They were fishermen. They did that. They knew where the fish were at. It didn't happen. They didn't catch. Their nets were dry. So they began to wash their nets, mend their nets, and because of the multitude, Jesus asked Peter, can I borrow your boat? This is Luke 5, 1 through 11. You'll see it also in Matthew 4, 19. But when they listened to what Jesus said, he said, take me out, Peter, just a little bit of a ways here. I can't see the multitudes. This is going to be my platform. This is going to be my podium. This is going to be it right here where I can look out and I can see everyone. But as he began to preach to the multitude, something resonated with Peter and Andrew, but all of a sudden when he got through, he just told a simple thing. He said, cast your net, Peter, into the deep. But he said, Master, I have told all night long with no avail. Nothing. Not one thing. But he said, this is the part that I want you to hear. But he said, at your word, I'll do it. And sometimes that's all we have is the word of God to stand upon. At your word, and he was the word, at your word, I'm going to do this. And he did it. And he caught two nets full of fish. They couldn't even hardly bring them in. But going on down into Luke, from that point, Peter saw Jesus much differently. He didn't see him as a teacher. He didn't see him as a rabbi. But he said, oh, Lord, I'm a sinful man. That's the way that we have to be called. When you're called by Jesus, you're going to see him for who he is. You're going to forget about everything about you. It's got to drop off. Things have got to, little by little, start falling off. Jesus requires quite a bit. Being a disciple is not an easy thing, he said. He said, count the cost to some of the ones that wanted to follow him. And not everyone followed him. One young gentleman came up and he said, what must I do? How can I follow you? Jesus said, it's simple. Do the commandments. He said, I've kept those. He came through the Jewish culture.
He knew the law. I've kept all of those. And he said, one thing, Jesus told him, one thing you're lacking. Go sell what you have and give to the poor. And he said, that young man went away sorrowful. Now think about something that you think you can't give up for God. Are there anything in your life that you cannot give up for God? To be a disciple of the Lord, when he says, follow me, you have to give up some stuff. And that's the world. The things you used to do, you have no desire to do. The things that you thought was so important in your life, you have no desire to do them because you want to be, you see Jesus for who he is. I see you, oh Lord. I'm a sinful man, just like Isaiah, Isaiah six. The second song they sung about worshiping the king that ran through my mind, just thinking about the king of kings and the Lord of lords, Isaiah got to sing. And when he saw him, he immediately said, I'm a man of unclean lips. I'm a sinful man. But God had a plan for Isaiah. And he touched his lips from the altar with a coal, a hot coal. And he answered, who's going to go for me? And Isaiah said, I'm ready, I'm going. And that's what I'm asking you today. Are you ready for discipleship? Are you ready to follow Christ into discipleship? It's rewarding. It changed my life. Sometimes it takes sacrifice. My wife and I made sacrifices. I didn't realize what discipleship was until 2011, when I came back here and retired back here at home. And I started coming to this church
and our pastor began to preach about discipleship. And from 2011 on, I've been involved. But I gave up some stuff. I wanted that in my life more than I wanted stuff. You know what I'm saying? I had bought a truck, a dually, 7.3, four dually. I was ready. I had a camper, a 38 foot camper with two slides. And I had done that, I was getting ready to hit the road. In five years, I had it made. I was going to retire, I was going to cross country. And whenever to come home just struck me, that's what we would do. But 2011, God changed me. I saw discipleship, I saw Jesus for who he is. All of those stuff, it's just stuff that we have. You know what? I see young marriages. I see people struggling in young marriages. And I wonder what, how, what, there must be something that they're facing. And then you go to Romans 12 and two. And it talks about conforming to the world. And I'm not saying that when people's marriages, all of them fall apart because people conform. But if you, as a Christian, if you start looking at your life, when does it start? When does it start? It starts when you quit doing the foundational things of discipleship.
That's praying, that's seeking God's face, and that's reading the word that you stand upon. Conforming comes very little, it comes in small. It don't come in big. Conforming to the world, when you go out those doors, if you don't watch and protect yourself and put on the armor of God, you know, when you go out there, you're gonna start looking like them. You're gonna start acting like them. But we, as discipleship, we're prepared for that. We, as disciples, know we've been trained, right? And now these disciples are gonna train somebody else to come alongside of. So that's our goal. We have a, everybody, I hear people all the time saying, I can't do that. I don't know enough. I don't know the word. I just feel inadequate. I don't have time. I can't make that commitment. Do you really see God? Think about what you're saying. I can't. You can do it. Paul said, there's a lot of things. When Paul was on the Damascus Road and he was going to persecute more Christians, a time that he was. Wasn't expecting again, God came by, Jesus came by,
and he shone a light upon his path. And he said, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? And he said, is that you, Lord? And immediately, he couldn't stand. He began to buckle down before the Lord. And he said, I'll go, Father, just like Isaiah, I'll go. I'll do what you call me to do. And that's our heart tonight. I'll do it, I'll go. We don't push discipleship back, we go. If you're not involved, tonight, I want to ask you, get involved in discipleship. If you're already been through discipleship, please disciple somebody else. Bring them along beside of you. Our church has a culture of three things. What are they? That's right, you know them. That's the way we're wanting to be, it's discipleship. Discipleship's one of the anchors in that mission. That is everybody's mission. All of us have a purpose. That purpose is not what you think. That purpose, everybody has, we all have, is to follow Jesus. That's the purpose. He said, love me with all of your heart, with all of your mind and all of your strength. That is the purpose. If you do that, it's gonna be easy from that point on.
Love him with all of your heart, with all your mind, all your strength, and follow him. And the next thing is, your mission. What is your mission? Can you put that on the board, our mission? There it is. That is everybody's mission. This is a command. There's a 18 and there's a 20. That's in between. From Matthew 4, 19, to Matthew 28, 18 through 20, was three and a half years. If discipleship wasn't important, why did Jesus do it? And we are to mold ourself after Jesus. We are to act like him. If making disciples wasn't important, he chose 12 men to be his disciples, to be with him all the time. What a joy. The call went out to each one of them and they accepted. The call's going out to you tonight. Don't let it pass by. There may not be another opportunity, who knows? Who knows? But Jesus is making that call tonight, calling you and wanting you to be part of this culture that revolution has here and it's ordained of God. It's not, we didn't just pick it out of the blue, but it was ordained of God. Go, and the word go is the action word
and you've studied that many times. All of you that's been through discipleship know what go means and therefore make. That's the thing that Jesus did. He didn't say, okay, Peter, without going through all of that training and watching him, he didn't immediately say, you're already there, but there was a process. To make is a process that we have to go through to get there. He changes us, Jesus changes us, the Holy Spirit of God. And that call, how did you react when the call came to you? What was your reaction? What was your reaction? But he said, go to all the nations and baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 18 says, all power and authority has been given to me. He had just raised from the grave. All power, all authority had been given to him. And now I can send you out. That's how we can go. We don't go within ourself. We go with the power and authority that he has given us. given us to do. And then he told us the other thing. He said, I'll be with you always, which was very important. I'll be with you always. You won't have to worry. Paul began as when he was thrown in jail and he did this and he did that. He took straps upon his back. Did he ever look back and say, I wish I'd have never done that? No. He told young Timothy, what you hear me speak, you teach men that can teach the same thing. Teach it, pass it on. Don't keep it. Help somebody along the way. So I think my 15 minutes is up. God bless you. Well, I want to go ahead and tell you that he just preached my Sunday morning service without notes. Jim said without notes. Yeah, he, he doesn't need notes. Um, yeah, I sent
my notes over, I think four o'clock Monday and it's, it's right down. So, but here's what's crazy about Don is every time that I meet with him, every time I'm around him, I'm just encouraged. And I, he, he encourages me. He prays for me and my wife and our family and the church, but he always gives me a word or says something. He has no clue he's even saying it. And we got up here tonight and he started out with the, with Peter and fishing. It's like, Connie, that's exactly what I'm preaching Sunday. It's like, that's crazy. So I guess the Lord wants us to hear that. Okay. So come back Sunday. But Don Stevenson is an incredible man of the Lord and his actions, amen, his actions show that they real, they really do. And, and you know, John Maxwell, I've listened to him. I've read, I've got a lot, most all of his books in my library. Um, but he said that, uh, if you think you're a leader, look behind you. If no one's following, you're just taking a walk. And so that's, that's one of his quotes. And, and when I look at Don, there's always someone behind him. There's always someone following him. And I try to get just as close as I can. Don serves as an elder in his church. He's a congregational pastor. He leads prime, a prime timer, a prime time minister, prime timers ministry. I'll get that right. Um, but in so many other things, he's here on call. If somebody comes by the church and they're needing, they're needing something, Don, he sold his house and moved and bought one close to the church so he could be, be here. He'll come over, he'll help the staff. He does whatever he needs to do. And to be honest with you, I will follow someone like that. And, and I gladly follow someone like that. When Connie and I just got married, you know, we, we didn't have a lot. We were struggling financially. We'd gotten saved. We're in the church and, and, uh, we just, we just barely had enough to get by, but we had, we'd bought a repossessed mobile home and we didn't have the money to, to wire it, to get the electric hooked up. And so I don't know, I guess Don found out about it. Uh, and so he was in our church and Don came over to our house and here I, here we are in our twenties, came over to our house and wired up that, that trailer. So we had power, things like that. You don't forget, you know, and, and, and, and so every word that he said tonight, I hope you, I hope you listened and I hope you, you just let that sink in because that was the Lord speaking through Don and I appreciate that so much. Discipleship is part of who we are as a church and you know, I've got an apple in my hand and you guys see this and, and, uh, Food Lion
has some pretty apples, don't they? Pick that up on the way in tonight. Uh, Connie went in and got it for me. Thank you. But, uh, but anyway, I, I just asked her to get one because in these discipleship conferences that we've done in other countries, I'll generally start the, the conference with an apple. Uh, because when you think about discipleship, it doesn't start, it starts with one seed, with one person, with one individual. And, and Peter realized, or Jesus realized that he had multitudes many times that he could have gathered and planted a church or whatever, but he, he always went back to the 12. He went back to the, to the few. and poured into him. And then he had, of the 12, he had Peter, James, and John that were like his inner circle. But here tonight I've got an apple, and you've heard the saying, you've heard me say it multiple times, but you can count the seeds in an apple, but only God knows the apples in a seed. One seed can become an orchard, an apple orchard. And so tonight when I look out and I see all of you and I see all of us, we realize that the calling is there, that we're called to make disciples, we're called to go out and multiply, and so that I just wanted you to realize the power in the seed. And tonight I'm going to ask you a question. How many seeds are in this apple? Okay, if you were guessing, I want you just to hold up fingers right now of how many seeds you think are in this apple. Hold them up real quick. Hold them up for a minute. Keep them held up because we're going to find out the prophets in the house, okay? If you've got the gift of prophecy, we may find that out. I'm going to cut it. Okay, don't change your numbers. Borrowed a knife from Brian. We're going to see if it's sharp enough to cut this apple. So Grant's going to cut it and he's going to hand me the seeds. How's that? Don't cut yourself. I will. Be careful, just don't cut yourself. We don't. Okay, there might be a seed in there, but we'll see. It normally don't take me this long to do this. Okay. Okay, we've got at least two. Okay, careful with that knife. Okay, anybody guess two? We've got a couple. Okay, hold on. That's three? Anybody guess three? Okay. Is there any more? He's butchering this apple, that's for sure. Oh, here we go. I've seen one right here. We have four. Anybody guess four? Five? Hold on, I dropped the five. There you go, there you go. Okay, five. Anybody guess five? Okay, is that it? Okay. Six? Yeah, okay. We have six. That's it. Anybody guess six? Okay, hold on. Anybody guess six? Let me see your hand. Hold on, several of them. Hold
on. There was a piece right here. I think it might have had a seed in it. Check it. I thought I saw one. Look and see. There we go. Okay, seven. Come on. That is awesome. I'm not sure I've ever cut an apple and had exactly seven. Who said seven? Who guessed seven? If you said seven, come up here real quick. Hurry. Everybody that said seven, get up here real quick. Hurry on the stage real quick. Come on up here. Come on. Seven's the number of completion. Wow. Come on. Everybody, everybody, come on. Get your cameras out. We're gonna take some pictures. This is crazy. Come on. If you guessed seven, come on. Spread. That's crazy, isn't it? Uh-oh, I might have found another. I'm just kidding. Come on up. Come on up. Okay. Yeah, this is wild. Come on, Steph. You did it. Okay, come on. Let's go, young lady. You did it. Now, I want you guys to take a close look. Get your cameras out because you are looking at the prophets and the prophetess of Revolution Church right here. Come on. Amen? Is seven the number of completion? Let's give it up for these guys. Come on, didn't they do a good job? All right, so for these young ones, I want you to grab a seed and take one home with you, okay? Hang on to that, put it in a bag. Come on, the younger ones, if you're a teenager, come on, yep, if you're a teenager, do we have more? Come on. I want you to hang on to this, okay, right there. I don't know if there's a seed in that one. Yeah, there you go, got one more. Any more teenagers? Okay, the oldest person on stage, are you a teenager? Fourteen, there you go, you got the last seed. Okay, let's give it up for these guys. Thank you all, thank you so much. You can grab a seed. The number of completion, I mean, God's perfect number, that is wild. I've counted four and six and five, but I don't think I've ever got the exact number seven. So, congratulations. Thank you. Good job, guys, good job. Come on, you knew, didn't you? Amen. We got a mess up here on the stage, but Heidi, hopefully it'll all be good for our commissioning. So, here's what I wanted to say. The King James Version, which is the version that I was raised on, and I'm sure that Don was raised on, and many of us, the Great Commission goes a little different. It says, go teach all nations. Okay, that word teach is what we had read from 1611. And then the later versions, they started using disciple, go make disciples instead of teach, and that was correct. I think that's the correct translation, because that word that they use for teach is methetos, and that's a mathematical term. We're talking about multiplication. See, God knew all along that this thing was going to multiply. Jesus set up this model to multiply and change the world, and so here would be God's heart for every single one of us, for every single one of us to go and pour into others. Second Timothy 2.2, it says, and find faithful men who are willing and able to teach others.
There's your multiplication. And so, tonight, I want to congratulate all the leaders who have made disciples this year. Can we give them a hand? Stand if you're a leader, and you've made disciples. Stand if you would. Either this year or any year, if you have poured into other disciples, come on, let's give it up for these guys. Thank you for your commitment, for your sacrifice. Congratulations to every one of you. But tonight is really, it's about celebrating all the graduates, and all of you that have spent time with these individuals. And so, tonight, we're going to recognize all of the graduates, and we're going to pray over you. We're going to commission you, and I'm going to ask Ms. Heidi if she would come up now, and she's going to lead us in that part. How many of you appreciate Ms. Heidi? Is she not amazing? Come on. We have some godly people around here. Don't we have a great church? I think we have the best church. It's so great to be here. Well, we're going to move into our commissioning time right now, so I'm going to have our congregational pastors come on up, and line up, just like you're on the prayer team, with your anointing oil that I gave you. We're going to anoint everyone today. And so, our first wave, we're going to do this anointing commissioning time in waves. And our first wave is all of you that are leading a new discipleship, that are part of this group launch in the back. Can you guys come up first? All those leaders, come on up, and we're going to start praying for you. Yep, you guys. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. And congregational pastors, I'm just going to have you guys go ahead and start praying for those that are coming forward. Yep, and we're going to anoint you with oil. And as they start praying, I'm going to share just a few more things with you. So, Isaiah 61.1 says, The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. Why are we anointing them tonight? It is a symbol of the Holy Spirit and Him being poured out on each one here this evening. And it is by, the Spirit is not by our own. might or our own power or our own skill but it is by the Holy Spirit and so that's why we're praying and anointing with oil and we are so thankful for these leaders and so once these leaders are leader listen up if you're not being prayed for once you're prayed for then turn around and be ready to pray for others okay okay well I would like to speak to the ones that that have been going through discipleship and I would like to have you treat this very seriously I believe God is doing four things tonight and he number one he is calling we've heard what Don was saying
we heard what pastor said he is calling you each by name he's calling you by name it's like Moses with the burning bush Moses heard the Lord say Moses Moses and the and Moses said here am I and like Isaiah like Don was saying he heard he saw the Lord high and lifted up and he heard the Lord say who will go for me whom shall I send and Isaiah said here am I send me and Ananias in the New Testament in Acts 9 God called to Ananias Ananias Ananias and Ananias said here am I send me and so there's a call going out to each one of you and are you willing to say here am I send me and so that once we are willing and once we say here am I we should expect God to say go we heard that from Don too didn't we go so there's an expectation that we're going to go and do something about it we're not just coming up to get anointed and commissioned to just sit and do nothing we're actually expecting that God is going to bring us that next person that we're supposed to disciple that we're supposed to mentor so I would like to call up anyone who is already a leader in the house like leads any group not necessarily ones who are just starting a group but if you're a leader here I would love to have you prayed for as well so you guys come on up so um I'd like to take this moment just to ask just take a moment just to hear the Lord call your name and what is your response and are you saying here my Lord send me and if you are then I'd like you guys to get up and come on forward anyone who's been a part of discipleship this past season we're going to go ahead and pray and so congregational pastors you're getting the line up you're getting the line up congregational pastors so leaders go ahead and turn around and pray for those that are coming up so I'd like to invite anyone who has been a part of discipleship to go ahead and come on up if you're saying here my send me okay yes turn around and pray for others yep turn around and pray for others thank you Lord thank you Jesus I think we need more prayers okay pastors well pastor Devin, pastor Pacer, Carrie, we need him, pastor Brian we need more people to be praying up here I think there's some more oil right here would you like some oil there we go thank you Lord praise you God okay so those that are still remaining in the seats let's go ahead and stand up everybody still seating stand up and if you are if you right now are interested in discipleship or wanting to be discipled and never been discipled before you guys can come on up and get prayed for too but we're going to go ahead and extend our hands towards all these ones that are in the front and we're going to go ahead and pray for them okay everybody in the place is going to pray for all of these ones Lord I thank
you that it is by your spirit by your power by your might it is not by our own effort our own ability Lord it is by your spirit and we ask that your holy spirit would be poured out upon all of these ones your spirit poured out upon all of these ones We thank you, Lord, that there is a commissioning happening. There is a sending happening. There's a willingness in our heart to say, yes, Lord. Yes, Lord, send me. Send me. Yes, Lord. Holy Spirit, come. Holy Spirit, come. I thank you, Lord, for all the ones, all these divine appointments that are going to be happening. They're going to be coming across these people's paths. And we're going to say, yes. We're going to mentor. We're going to disciple. We ask that they would be commissioned to go. We thank you, Lord, for this evening. What a beautiful, beautiful evening it is. Thank you, Lord. Praise you, God. Brian has some. Brian doesn't have the oil. I gave it to him. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. So all the leaders, please split up and go ahead and pray for these ones back here. Go ahead and split up and pray for all of them.
Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. There's more room up here to come in. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Who did you give your oil to? If you've been prayed for, come on up on the stage. If you've been prayed for and you're not praying for someone, we're going to take a photo of everyone. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. OK, those that have been commissioned, start making your way up to the stage. We're going to take a photo. Come on up. Come on up. Mitchell can come up. You can start the wave. You're coming on up. You're just going to lead the wave. You know it takes one person to just come up. We're getting ready to take our photo. Come on up. You getting up here too, Sam? You're just going to jump up. See, I knew you could do it.
Come on up. Come on up. Come on up, everyone. Come on up. Discipleship. So everyone with a discipleship shirt on, come on up, please. Come on up. You're awesome. You're awesome. You're awesome. If some of you would like to stay on the floor, that's okay. We'll need we'll have some people sitting on the edge. Sitting on the edge. Sitting on the edge. Some people can sit on the edge or stand on the floor. Yep, there we go. We can sit on the edge and we can stand on the floor too. Okay, we're gonna go ahead and take a photo. Misty, you guys coming up? Carrie, Pastor. So if some of you guys could sit on the edge. Our photographer is asking if you could sit on the edge here. Anybody? We have any girls that want to sit on the edge right here? Do you want to sit on the edge? Do you want to sit on the edge? Thank you. We have our beautiful photographer Gabriella here. She is a wonderful. Okay. I don't know. Don't sit on the edge. Okay, yes, there we go. All right. Awesome, awesome. All the disciples, thank you. You can come down. We're going to transition a little bit. One last thing, Miss Heidi, you want them to come down here? Okay. All of you disciples, won't you guys please come down to the altar? If you guys could come hang out in the altar.
Disciples, if y'all could come down in the altar, we're going to finish with something. So I need every teenager in the house, every teenager in the house, come up front. Every teenager. Even you up on the top row. I see you. I see you up on the top row. Every teenager in the house, let's go. Every teenager, come down here. Disciples, what I would like for you all to do is we're going to line up in the altar. Okay. We're going to line up in the altar. We're going to pray over these teenagers. We're going to pray over the teenagers because they're right now, they're the next disciples. We're going to pray over these teenagers. We're discipling disciples. So let's line up in the front. We're going to have teenagers come up. All right, teenagers, hey, I got you. I got you. I need some teenagers. Come over here. Come over here. Get in this altar. Come over here and get on this side of the altar. Some of you go on this side. Not everybody. So the rest of y'all come this way. Come up and let's get in. Let's get up here with some people. All right.
How you guys go over here in front of these people you're going to get prayed with. Y'all go that way. Go that way. Go over there. Get in front of those people. All right. I'm going to get in front of somebody. All right, church. If you're ready, say ready. All right. So here's what we got going on right now. Everybody lock in on this last moment here. We're not done yet. We're not done yet. Disciples, what you have in front of you is not just the next generation. It's the now generation. Everybody say the now generation. Teenagers, I need you to look at me. I need you to look at me, teenagers. And everybody lock in on this moment. Jesus is calling you. Jesus is calling you. And just as in Mark chapter 10, the blind man calling out to Jesus, saying, Jesus sent him, David, have mercy on me. And everybody else told him what? Be quiet. Go away. But Jesus said, tell him to come here. And then they said, he's calling you. Look at these teenagers, disciples.
Would you do this with me? Say he's calling you. And then Jesus heals him. And he not only changed his physical life, but it said then the blind man, Bartimaeus, followed him down the road. So tonight, teenagers, my prayer for you is this, that Jesus would change your vision. Because this world that these teenagers live in, it's all visual. It's all visual. So my prayer tonight is that Jesus changes your vision. He changes your eyes, and that you will see him and see that he's worth following. He's worth reading the word. That would be the thing that you strive for the most, would be his word. And then the schools will change, and that your families will change. You can make disciples as a teenager. You can do that with the power of the Holy Spirit and with God's word. So let's pray. Disciples, let's pray over these teenagers right now. Let's join together, and let's pray over them. Jesus, thank you so much for these young people. Thank you that we have young men and young women who are here, Lord. And it's not about the events. It's not about all the activities. Everything we do, Jesus, points to you, that there are young men right here in this altar, Lord, that you want to take and make us warriors for your name, Father, that no matter what the past has been, up until this moment, they are here for you and with you, Lord. And as we enter into this new season of discipleship in our youth ministry, Father, talking about the core questions of the Christian faith, asking the questions, seeking God's word, getting together with our leaders and our disciples themselves, and as this church has disciples making disciples making disciples, that you would begin to grow that fire, grow those coals, make hot the coals underneath in these young people, Lord, in these young
ladies, that they would see that their beauty is in you, and that they would tell other young women about God that loves them, no matter what has happened in their past and what's happening right now. Holy Spirit, change their vision tonight. Change how they look at themselves. Change how they look at you. And when they see the beauty, like Brother Don said, of who you are and the power of who you are, that they would say, woe is me, but that you would show them that you can use them, Lord, that they would be willing to dig into your word, willing to dig into prayer, no matter what anybody says around them, just like the blind man, Bartimaeus Mark 10 that he would call out your name even louder and that God you will show them who you are and that when they see you in your word and they see you in the times of asking questions in the times of prayer and in this times in their life Lord you're going to send them out as they follow your path and your way Lord we're going to make more disciples of young ladies more disciples of young men and that God those seeds like pastor talked about that are planted Lord that you're going to grow and grow because they're going to be put in fertile soil it's not in something shallow it's in something that is deep and it is rooted in the Word of God and in you Holy Spirit so that it will grow it won't be taken by the ground it won't be taken by the birds of the air and the things of this world but it will grow from these moments Lord thank you for these young people thank you Jesus for the opportunity that we have thank you for these small group leaders Lord I thank you for our small group leaders that are going to be meeting with these young people Lord every week God that you would anoint them and lead them as they study your word and as they prepare God that they would be able to show these young people the love of Jesus the way of Jesus God's Word and his plan for their life this is the now generation this is the now generation and thank you Lord that just as brother Don standing up here and pastor Pace are talking about the apple that I remember my grandfather showing me and my brothers how to plant the seed and how
an apple tree grows from the seed and I remember those generations before me and God I pray that we would see the generations and the disciple makers before us and that the every young man and young woman will grow into something beautiful because you make it grow you bring the rain you help the soil thank you father Jesus name church said amen come on church come on church hallelujah hey we've got one final song for the night anybody thankful to God for his grace and his plan anybody in the house come on come on you guys know this song we want you to sing a worship with us tonight as we finish we're thankful to God for his plan one thing no place to hide this weary soul these bag of bones and I tried with all my might I just can't win the fight Oh Oh I thank the Savior, because he healed my heart, and he changed my name, forever free, I'm not the same I thank the Master, I thank the Savior, I thank God God I cannot deny what I see, I've got no choice but to believe, my doubts are burning, yes they are, like ashes in the wind Oh, don't walk to my door, hurting the bitterness, you can keep it moving, no, no, you ain't welcome here Oh, now till I walk these streets and doors, I'll sing and howl to save my soul, his wayward son has found his way back home Oh, he'll kiss me again, he'll turn me around, he'll cleanse my feet, he'll cleanse my heart I thank the Master, I thank the Saviour, because He healed my heart, and changed my name to forever free.
