Most Christians Are Worshiping Themselves and Don't Know It

Pastor Richard Lorenzo Jr. challenges believers to examine the true object of their worship. He teaches that worship is not merely singing or attending church—it is revealed by what we prioritize, obey, sacrifice for, and live to please. Many Christians sincerely love God yet unknowingly place their own desires, comfort, opinions, emotions, or ambitions above His will.

True worship requires denying self and submitting completely to Christ. When our preferences consistently take precedence over God's Word, we can subtly become the center of our own lives rather than allowing Jesus to remain on the throne. The call of discipleship is to crucify the flesh daily, surrender our own agenda, and seek God's glory above our own.

The greatest idol a Christian may have to confront is self. True worship begins when Jesus is enthroned in every area of our lives and our greatest desire is His will, not our own.

The sermon encourages believers to honestly examine their hearts, repent of self-centered living, and return to a lifestyle where Christ is exalted above personal comfort, recognition, and desire.
