Mercy Culture Conference 2026 | Session 2 | Heather Schott
>> Morning, everybody. >> We're at session two of Mercy Culture Conference. >> Yes. >> Hope you guys had an incredible night. Just processing all God did. Once again, my name is Chris. I'm the lead pastor of the online campus. >> And I'm Sydney Caldwell. I am the -- over the family division for the online campus. >> Yes. And so, as you can see, we're going to be with you guys throughout MC conference before each session and after each session. As you can see here, people are in a flurry to get into what God is about to do in this conference again. I love conference. It's such a unifying time for the online campus. And so, if you're watching right now, you have a live stream ticket, you're being a part of it here. We encourage you to be a part of every single session, watch back, be involved as we are here. We're going to be doing merch giveaways. >> Yes, stay tuned for merch. >> More interviews with other leaders throughout this house. And so, it's going to be an incredible time for today. And so, is there anything that you would say that you're looking forward to most going into technically the final day of conference before Sunday? >> Oh my goodness, I am excited for worship. It seems every time I walk into the room, I'm like, I hear the first word go out and I'm like, I am done.
Like, I feel like worship just sets the tone for welcoming the Holy Spirit in. And I just have such an anticipation. I know the worship leaders have been praying into this, probably almost a whole year, probably since last conference. So, they have the specific songs that the Holy Spirit gave them. They have the specific prayers that the Holy Spirit gave them. And I can feel it tangibly when I walk in the room. >> I will say, I mean, we'll get into this later. And so, just a little plug, stay tuned after this session. We'll be doing an interview with Pastor Jasmine. But I felt last night was probably the most unifying. >> Yes, yeah. >> Corporate encounter we've ever had in the history of Mercy Quotes. I know that's a crazy thing to say. >> It was amazing, it was amazing. >> But the unity I felt in the room, the unity I felt with people even watching online, seeing in the comments, I mean, it was literally, we saw the effects of people coming in with intercession, prayer, and fasting into this conference. And so, that's our heart, that you're not just seeing these things happening, that you're going to be a part of it, that you're going to be encountering God. And as we said yesterday, and we're in those intercession moments, when we're praying in the spirit, when we're worshiping, do that in your home, do that in your watch party, invite one another, encourage one another in the comments, to really go after what the Lord is doing in the room, because our desire is that we take people from corporate encounters with God to daily personal encounters with God, be a part of this corporate encounter, and we would love to see you spiritually grow. >> Yes.
>> That is something, if you're a part of Mercy culture, we don't want you to stay in the same place, we want you to continue to spiritually grow in the Lord. And we have something, someone's really cool, we want to talk to a about that. >> Talking about spiritual growth. >> Talking about spiritual growth, that helps literally hundreds, if not thousands, of leaders spiritually grow. And so, we're going to be talking to Pastor Chris Donald, who leads the spiritual leadership school, or we call SLS. >> Yes, I am excited about this one, because I graduated from SLS, and so it's really close to my heart, and we're just so welcoming to Pastor Chris Donald. >> Yes, Pastor Chris, come on, welcome. >> I could be with you guys. >> Yes, thank you for coming here. >> Welcome to everybody online. >> What would you say real quickly, what was something that just really marked you last night in session one of conference? >> I mean, you said worship. I think the moment that worship starts, I feel the tangible presence of God. I think one of the most marking things was at the end that was up towards the front of the stage, when they begin to pray over Rabbi Jonathan. >> Yes. >> And Dr. Michael Brown, who I love. And just seeing the genuineness on their faces, we were blessing them. >> Yes. >> Was amazing. And the unity that came, and the way that Pastor Landon led. >> Yeah. >> Was so good. >> He's the best, I mean, he's the best.
>> I agree, I agree to him. >> You know, it's like, here we have this moment where I think people are thinking, oh, we're encountering God. But it was a moment where we heard God, no bait God. >> Yes. >> To bless these two men, and then also to bless the nation of Israel. It was powerful. >> So good. >> They are truly, truly, I love that mark that moment. And he led us to of like, what happens when you pray in the spirit? >> Yes. >> Like, we just started, it brought us into unity, it led us into- >> And when it hits the room, like, well, when it hits your room or your car, wherever you're watching from, you feel like you could run through a wall. >> Yes. >> Pastor Chuck wouldn't run by me, I'm like, he's here. >> Yes, you feel it. And I would say too, I've been able to kind of peep into some of the classes in SLS and just seeing how those leaders are being developed. And I've seen some of those powerful encounters. And even how some of these correlate to what you see in these conferences and how they're so students really two things I mean I could talk for an hour But two things I want to highlight specifically about this year We have schools now. So whereas before we had SLS the foundational school and SLS online now we have SLS worship school Wow led by Mercy culture worship, which is the house vision. We have SLS school of government Led by our three house vision citizens for life for liberty and justice and the justice reform I mean I walk into these rooms seeing what they're getting poured into from the Nate Chats lines to the Emmanuel Cote is just incredible and then we have the school of missions Evangelism Wow, so I don't want to get too passionate on that. You know my heart for missions. Yes, where we are actually
raising up missionaries To send out we're starting a missions movement. So we love YWAM. We love these different missions movement But now Mercy culture through SLS has a mission sending movement We just send our first missionaries So if you feel a call to government if you feel a call to worship If you feel a call to missions and evangelism and then we have SLS online Which we'll talk about a little bit later. Oh, but that is just really exciting to see people developed in their specific lane Yeah, and then also we have some incredible instructors. So yeah, we're not a Bible college We're a spiritual leadership school, but we have a teacher that actually moved from Berian, Washington So he heard the Lord. He laid down his church and Him and his family on faith moved to Fort Worth, Texas. He's a friend of mine I'm known him for like seven eight years. He gets here to join 33rd company Which is one of our house visions and the same week? I got given the responsibility of directing SLS I was like you're a teacher now. It's one thing when a pastor teaches. Yeah, it's like, okay That's good, but when a teacher teaches. Yes, that has the gift. You're like. Oh wow like this isn't exhorting This isn't this is like teaching. So he's teaching church doctrine classes to the lens of spiritual leadership Bible 101 Bible 21. We have a church history class, which is incredible Then we have others like Jasmine Reed. We have all of our leaders here like every week We have like Zane Anderson and apostolic elder dr. Michael credible incredible incredible incredible. Yes So I want to just highlight the schools the specific schools and then the instructors are Because what we want is is we want Not just for people to come and give information. We want there to be real transformation. Yes So I think a lot of times we think well, I'm just gonna learn a bunch of information But the way that Jesus taught was not just information He's like hey, here's the truth now Why don't you walk that out and we're seeing that take place so I could go on and on as you can tell I'm excited about it Join SLS Texas SLS to 599 you right now. He's ready. He's ready going for the plug What happens when you're an evangelist that I'm excited. I mean even when I first came here I was always peeking into the SLS classes anytime I taught in there
I felt like I was learning in those spaces as well too, but help us it for the person that's like man That sounds incredible. I would love to be in one of those schools But I live in California. I live in North Carolina Like can I really get all that God has me while being away from SLS so actually? Over half of our schools online. Wow, so I was just in the lobby a minute ago Guy walks up to me. I don't know him. He knows me. He's like, hey, I'm an online student He's in his first semester and I said where are you from? He's like Las Vegas Wow, and he's actually an elder at his church as well. I feel the Holy Spirit And and he's like yeah, so I'm an elder, but I'm a student and he goes and your spiritual leadership You pastor land and the other leaders is rubbing off on me and people around me are like Like where are you getting this boldness? He's like man, what's happening? Yeah, so let's just rubbing off on me and I bumped into people all over in this lobby. I just stand here and meet people So I would say if you're like man SLS sounds so good, but I don't live here This is what I would say you don't have to live here. You can actually have a very similar Experience online. We have community you get the same teaching Outreach looks different, but they're we're encouraging you in your daily life to be a witness And I think I'll just have you take a moment to share about your experience That's right Because I think you're gonna be able to speak to it I know I just happened to be at the perfect session because I was living in Fort Worth But I was a stay-at-home mom and I knew I was like I'm called to SLS But I can't be their person like I have my baby to take care of and child care and all the stuff that all the moms know about and background is like there's no way it'll affect me the way it infects like the people in person but you almost feel strange you see a pastor Donald Krist Arnold in the sanctuary you're like I know you because of your teaching and your impartation even through my screen at home and so even like outreach what that looked like for me was partnering with my friend that also had a baby and we went to the mall and we did outreach at the same mall for a year and so I would say if you're a mom if you're even a just a person that might be in college that has time to set apart to spiritually grow that you will not
regret it and that you will have the benefits of the people in person just as much as them being here so we encourage you to not feel like you're missing out but that there's something more for you even watching online I knew we were supposed to have you talk the perfect I mean from from the elder of a church in Las Vegas so you're so much more than just a stay-at-home mom but what an honor yes to that and and from every age of I think we had somebody graduate that was 80 years old wow all the way to 18 man so you're not too old you're not well you might be too young but but yeah it's it's an incredible experience Pastor Chris thank you so much I feel like every time I have a conversation with you like you just leave people then they just want to run through a wall they want like I want to dive in I want to go I want to be a stronger spiritual leader could you just that last that person that's just like on the fence that's teeter tottering what would you say to encourage them to take the plunge to really dive in yeah so one of one of the greatest I mean let me say let me reframe this there's many ways to connect with God it's it's not just the way that we're used to for the last decade and one of those ways is learning so when people begin to get overwhelmed with like well how am I gonna have time to spend my time with Jesus and do school and steward my family yeah if you do it right this becomes your time with Jesus this is not this rigorous school where you're overwhelmed with homework there's there's homework there's books to read there's stuff to do but when you understand that you can connect with God in the midst of spiritual leadership school it kind of frees you so you could be riding in your car doing your Bible reading you can be listening to your books when you're at work like my my wife works in a place where it's more so she's packing things and doing things and she's listening to podcasts so there is a way that this can fit into your life and I'll just leave it with this I've not met one person that took the the step of faith to step into SLS as an online student and said it wasn't worth it Wow everybody that's taken that step to do it has spiritually grown yeah so if you're out there and you're thinking man I want to spiritually grow I think this is a great opportunity for you to
be obedient to take a risk we say oftentimes that faith is spelled R-A-S-K so take a risk and apply we actually have a conference deal right now if you apply before the end of Sunday come on there's no charge wow you can go do your application right now and we'd love to see you at SLS how can they apply let them know real quick I'll just say text SLS to 590 90 it's gonna give you the prompt follow the prompts it's gonna take you right to our website to the application takes less than I think 30 minutes to apply wow amazing Pastor Chris thank you so much yeah for leading this house leading the next generation of leaders from 18 to 80 years old come on eight one it's for you so thank you Pastor Chris appreciate we love it alright thank you alright guys Rhett's about it for the pre-show for this morning we'll be back after this session we want to encourage you let us know where you're watching from and also if you want to be one of those people that get exclusive merch they can't get anywhere else stay tuned after this session and we can't wait to encounter God with you see you guys later you yeah I was gonna say [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] - All right, all right, all right. Mercy Culture Conference. How many of you guys are ready for this morning? - One more time. - Wasn't last night incredible? Last night was incredible. We waged war. It was an amazing time. My name is Chuck Reyes.
I'm the director of the Justice Reform. I'm also one of the pastors here at Mercy Culture, but the vision of the Justice Reform is answering the cry for justice by bringing reformation from city to city. And the Justice Reform, the reason why we exist, the whole purpose of the Justice Reform is to see an end to human trafficking, which is modern day slavery. (audience applauds) So I wanna introduce you, Pastor Nikki Cody, who is the director over advocacy for the Justice Reform, Pastor Evelyn, who is our residence pastor, and then Liberty Carrera, who is over our events department. And so we're gonna go in to just kinda teach you guys a little bit more about the Justice Reform. So Pastor Nikki, what is the Justice Residence? Justice Residence is the first of its kind. It is one of the largest restoration homes that will house up to 100 women for one to three years of restoration. (audience applauds) - So nationally, there's different safe houses, different types of anti-human trafficking organizations. But what makes the residents, what makes the residents that we're building on this property so much different?
- What I love about what we have done, we've just asked the Lord, what do you want? What do you want for us to give away to these women? And the difference is we are biblically based and presence driven. All of the curriculum will be biblically based and that's how it's driven. Listen, we're gonna walk them through four phases. They will receive, restore, revive and reform because they're gonna come in as survivors, but they are going to leave as reformers. This is who they are. - Yes, yes. So how can people get involved? If someone said, let's say someone in the audience, the crowd was saying, how do I get involved? How do they do that? - Yes, so today we are going to have at lunchtime and at dinner time, we have a booth, everybody turn around and look. This is our grand lobby doors right through here. We're gonna have a booth out there with all of the information set up on the table. Come meet some of our team members and you can see out the windows out here. You can look out and see the restoration home being built. The justice residence is already up to the third floor. Come on, come on. And we wanna encourage you, listen, get your phones out. Get an umbrella, run out there to the residence. You can stay on the concrete.
You don't have to worry about getting into any mud. I want you to be careful because it is still raining. But go out there, take pictures, take videos. We want to bring awareness to this. And when you do, tag us so that we can share it. - Definitely tag us. All right, so we're gonna talk about advocacy. Pastor Evelyn, what is advocacy? - Your advocacy department operates through four core ways and that is through advocacy training, that is through intensive education, through community impact and also taking care of survivors, so survivor care. And one of the ways that we are doing that is in the intensive, we're building up 100 advocates. We're training them, we're making sure they are ready to walk women one on one through the program, discipling them through healing and freedom. And so you may ask, what could I do to be a part of that? And we're gonna say, text justice of 599 as Pastor Nikki said, go and ask questions in the back. And you're gonna ask me another, I was gonna ask a go for it. - Yes, yes, lastly, so who is advocacy for? - Yes, advocacy is for men and women. So if you're in the room and you feel a kick, text again, justice of 599. We have an intensive that is coming up early 2027. Y'all, the building is supposed to open
in mid-summer of 2027. - Come on. - And so we have an intensive, if you are interested, men and women, okay, we need both. - Yes. - We need men to come in and be an example of what it looks like to be a defender, a protector and part of the solution to the problem of human trafficking and women. for that intensive that's coming up. Early, 2027. - And this is so important. Men, if you're in this house, no matter where you're from across the nation, we say that men are not the problem, but men are the solution. So men of God, young men in this place, you can't afford to sit on the sidelines when it comes to human trafficking. I know that human trafficking, the number one consumers are men. And there's that awareness that men consume human trafficking. That's why human trafficking exists. However, guess what? When righteous men of God take a stand and say not on my watch, I'm gonna live holy, I'm gonna live pure, and I'm gonna take a stand against human trafficking. That's when we'll see change in our nation. All right, Liberty, tell us about justice run.
What is justice run? Justice run is a 5K, 10K, half and full marathon, and team marathon relay to end human trafficking. All of the proceeds from justice run go directly to building the justice residence. So if you are local to Fort Worth, local to Washington, DC, or not local at all, we have an option for you. Coming up this month, we're having Fort Worth on October 24th, Washington, DC on October 10th, and then you can run all month long virtually wherever you are. Yes, so text run to 590-90. Here's the thing, real quick, a lot of people, I always hear it, well, I'm not a runner, I'm not a runner. That's great, that's perfect, you could still walk. So when someone's not a runner or someone says, "Well, I'm not gonna go and do this, do that," why should people do justice run? Justice run is how we bring awareness in our local communities to the realities of human trafficking. So whenever you give your yes and you walk the 5K or you run the 10K half full, whatever race, you feel God puts on your heart to run and you say, "Hey, I'm running for justice." You are bringing awareness to your friends, your family, your communities of the realities of human trafficking and you're running for those who can't run for themselves. Yes, so get outside yourself. I understand that you may say, "I'm not a runner."
Here's the thing, I've never been a runner. I got into running because I said, "You know what, I wanna run for something greater than myself." And when I run, whether I'm running, whether I'm walking, whether I'm jogging, here's the thing, you get to run against human trafficking. And if you can run, guess what you're doing to the community around you is you're bringing awareness. So who's gonna sign up for justice run? Come on, don't raise your hand if you're not gonna do it. But here's what we're gonna do before we get into worship. We're gonna give two T-shirts out. So I'm gonna throw one, there you go. We're gonna give out another one. All right, so remember during the conference, text run to 590-90 if you wanna learn how to get involved and if you want to know more about the justice reform and what we're doing, text justice to 590-90. And guys, it's time to wage war. We've been here all this week talking about waging war and we are going to go ahead and do that. And so don't forget, Liberty reminded me right now, the Bogo Dale, there is a Bogo, you buy one, get one 50% off, so text run to 590-90. All right, you guys ready for conference? Let's go, all right, love you guys, let's get ready. (audience clapping) ♪ My glory ♪ ♪ I know I'm standing on the road ♪ ♪ I'm feeling like dancing ♪

[Music] [Music] [Music] Last night I heard the Lord so clearly say to me, have I found a company of people who will turn aside, and he led me to Exodus 3, verses 3 through 4. You know the scripture of this whole conference is about holy ground. And it says, Moses, turn aside. And I will turn aside to see why this bush is burning. And God's response in verse 4 says, when the Lord saw that he had turned aside to see, God called him out of the bush saying, Moses, Moses. And he said, here I am. With every hand lift and I saw a company of people who would be like Moses, who would not grow in familiarity with the presence of God, that when he comes in the room, they would say, I will turn aside to see this burning bush. Lord, we pray that discernment will come from the Holy Spirit, all this sensitivity. I heard the Lord say over at University Culture Conference that he is growing you in depth and stamina in the coming days that you'll be people who will not go forward with the world. But you'll be a people consecrated who will say, I will turn aside to see, my God, how you lift it up in the trade of his robe, fill it, it's time to go. Oh God, we say the world will not slow down. But you'll find us slowing down. You'll find us slowing down. We'll be a people who turn aside to see you. Jesus, I thank you for the fear of the Lord in this place.
Lord, hungry people who are desperate for an encounter with you, would you just lift your hands without the band leading you? Would you just be hungry for another encounter? Would you say what Moses said, Lord, here I am. Lord, here I am. Lord, here I am. Lord, here I am. We're hungry for holy ground and counters with our one true living God, our bridegram king. Jesus, we declare we came for an encounter with you. I want you to play this holy without the band leading you. Let there be a hunger and a desperation. Like Moses who said, I will turn aside. It was hunger who led Moses into that encounter and familiarity is what took him out of his presence. So God, we declare we'll never grow familiar. We'll never treat your presence as common because God, you're holy. Oh come on, let it come out of your spirit to declare he's holy. Oh, you're holy. You're holy. You're holy. You're holy. There's no one like you, King Jesus. Oh, Jesus, we magnified in this place. God, we thank you for your mighty power. Oh, God, that you are the God Hear the God who sets us apart. I'm Heather Schott, senior pastor of Mercy Culture Church with my husband, Landon Schott. Who is just having fun in the presence of God? Man, he is so good. Are you coming expected this morning for God to show up and to change your life? Okay, good, good. The vision of Mercy Culture Church is that we take people from corporate encounters to daily personal encounters.
What does this mean? We don't want people just coming to church on Sundays or going from city to city for conferences and encountering God a few times a year. We want you in the presence of God every single day. This is a daily personal relationship with Jesus that changes everything. Just wave your hand at me since you've grown in your personal relationship with Jesus. If you feel you've experienced deliverance, freedom, healing in your marriage, in your life, and your family, come on, because you cannot talk a demon. Listen, I'm not saying that counseling is bad, it's good. If it's Christian spirit, feel counseling. But there is nothing like getting in the presence of the Lord in the word of God, receiving Rama in worship and in prayer every single day and what it does for your spiritual growth. This is why we're so passionate about your personal relationship or connecting with God daily. This is why we release a new app, millions of dollars behind this years and putting this together for you that we are launching this weekend and everywhere. So we want you to text the word app to 59090. And this app, literally it's so beautiful. I woke up this morning, my husband's coming in and out as I'm just praying and prepping into this morning. And I hear the connect with God app going off as it's leading him into a daily encounter with God. It's absolutely incredible.
It's like Jesus Netflix of worship videos and sermons and podcasts. And you literally hit how you best connect with God and it will walk you through a daily encounter into the presence of the Lord. It's incredible for teenagers and children also learning and growing in their relationship with God. But we want you to download that app. It's for free. We just want you to grow in your relationship with God because when you begin to hear him and his voice and respond in obedience, everything changes. That's a church on fire, a church that is an obedient church that knows God, it will change the world, will change the nations and usher in what I believe will be one of the greatest spiritual outpourings that we are in the brink of. Now you are a part of that. Listen, you just watched this video and it's a teaser because this is what we're doing. Okay, you know, I'm laughing right now at the Lord that I'm like, Lord, you were wild that you asked us to do these wild things but we are in a wild hour that I believe the way that you have worshiped last night. This morning that God is breaking us out of religion out of the four walls of the church. This is how we bring the spirit of Reformation to make crooked ways straight and He told me to do something wild.
Would my team please stand up in the front row? Okay, this is my team right here. This group of men, including Malachi O'Brien, he was here last night that said yes to running the oldest ultra in the nation, the JFK Ultra. We are running 50 miles for freedom in 50 states to take down the giant of human trafficking, of sex trafficking in our nation. Can you give it up for these guys? Right here this November in Maryland, we will be running a 50-miler ultra marathon and we are recording a documentary to inspire the body of Christ who run with us to take this giant down. So so cool, this group of guys, they've had their own personal encounters with the Lord of being set free from pornography, different types of perversions, each of them have their own walk that God has set them free, or their story of why they run. We're gonna get to share different parts of that in our process of training and of long suffering. But we are releasing this documentary in early, We want you to spread the word and host-watch parties. But to be a part of this, you text the word "ultra" to 590-90. Why is this so important? Listen, just a pre-message to the message. The world cannot bring justice because the same Hebrew
and Greek word for justice is also righteousness. Anybody see the unrighteousness happening in our nation? This is why there will be no justice if the church does not arise in the righteousness of God, in the justice of God. This is why people will vote a bunch of crazy woke women will say that a woman that murders her three children, that she just had mental issues, we feel sorry for her, and she's the victim, and we remove the consequences of wickedness because we no longer discern between what is evil and what is good. This is why the body of Christ has to engage in this hour. Listen, we're in a mercy window in America right now, but it is not the God of mercy that is returning church. It is the king of justice with his judgment that is returning. And this is why it's important that we understand Heaven's justice and that we are vessels of Heaven's justice. So you can also be a partner with the Justice Reform. We are building the largest restoration home ever built in America for women rescued out of sex trafficking. The largest ever built. It's literally shifting history. It's going to shift the future because we're bringing the Word of God. We are bringing the presence of God back to deliverance, healing, and restoration for women rescued out of sex trafficking. Come on, Christ has been removed out of all areas in our nation, including the anti-human trafficking realm, and they need truth.
They need the presence of God. So this will be the first biblically-based presence driven, largest restoration home ever built in America. Thousands of women will receive not just freedom, not just physical freedom, but spiritual freedom, where they understand who their creator is and that they have a personal relationship with Jesus. They will come in as survivors, but hear me. They will be leaving as reformers. They will be leaving with God-given purpose, making crooked way straight. So that's why we run. You can run with us in Justice Run. We're doing our first Justice Run in Washington, DC on 10/10. Then here in Fort Worth on 10/24, you can also run virtually. There's a 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, and even a group marathon that four of you as a team can run it together. But again, if you would just follow along on this journey that we're doing in capturing this footage of this process of running for freedom in all 50 states, I knew in the 250-year anniversary of our nation, what does that mean? That means it is biblically speaking, the fifth jubilee of our nation. What was jubilee in the Word of God? Jubilee, when that happened in the 50th year, it was the time that they set the slaves
or the captives free and they canceled the debts. I believe we're on a verge. I've been seeing it in the spirit of another Moses movement. Mark my words, my friends. Hey, good to see you. We're on the verge of another Moses movement where we are going to see hundreds of thousands and more I'm gonna prophesy it now, millions. We have over a million slaves in the land of the free. We have millions around the world and it's the body of Christ's responsibility, I believe to fast, to pray, to partner, to give, to run, to set them free. Why? Because he's jealous, I feel the Holy Ghost. He is jealous for souls. He is jealous for a harvest. And we have prophets that have been saying that there's gonna be a billion soul harvest. Then I'm gonna tell you right now, millions of slaves around the world. He is waiting and he is tearing for the body of Christ to awaken out of our fear, out of our slumber, to expose darkness and to expand justice and to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. They're a part of that harvest. This is why we run. So you're gonna text Ultra to 590-90. And then be a part of this man.
Keep saying the word movement and it's humbling. And I'm going to be honest, so much of what God has called me to do or to lead just a vulnerable moment right now. I never thought I would do. I didn't want to do. I had my heels in the ground with a lot of it. I didn't understand it. He asked me every day and every week to do something I have never done before. And there's no criteria to tell me how to build the largest restoration home in America. But because he said it, come on, because he spoke it, I will obey and fulfill my heavenly father, my heavenly king's dreams in the earth. This is what we are asking you to partner with, not a Heather dream, not a Heather vision, but God's vision and God's dreams in the earth for his daughters and setting them free in this hour. Amen? All right, that all-inclusive number you're going to text notes to 590-90. You guys ready to get into the message this morning? We're going to be in Acts chapter 7 verse 30 through 38 titled this, "The Call of Moses." Verse 30, "After 40 years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses." In the book of Acts, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai. When Moses sawed, he marveled at the sight. As the approach to look more closely, the voice of the Lord came to him, "I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look. Then the Lord said this to him, "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and I have come down to deliver them. Now come, when I will send you back to Egypt, this Moses whom they had rejected with the words, who made you ruler and judge, is the one whom God sent to be the ruler and redeemer through the angel who appeared to him in the bush. He led them out and performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt at the Red Sea, and for forty years in the wilderness. This is the same Moses who told the Israelites, "God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers." He was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him among Sinai with our fathers, and he received living words to pass on to us. I came here to tell you this morning mercy culture conference, "You must not, you cannot forget the purpose of your holy ground encounters." Let us pray this morning. Lord, I thank you this morning that we are on holy ground because your presence reigns in this place. Holy Spirit, I ask that you would not just make this room holy with your presence, that you would not just fill this room with your presence,
but your word says and calls us your temples. Lord, right now we invite more of you and less of us would you come and fill us up with your presence, would you come and fill us up with your glory, anybody in the room that's agreement that wants more of him and less of you. Come on, anybody in the room that doesn't just want him to fill a room, to fill a building, but that you want him to fill you and your temple. Lord, we ask that you would fill our minds and that you would rearrange, that you would remove anything that is not pleasing to you, any ideas, any theologies, any opinions that are not of you. Oh God, would you deal with our hearts? We invite you into our heart that your Holy Spirit would fill every single place in any motives that are not pure enough of you, that you would remove them. Oh God, Father, we ask that you would fill our bodies, that they would be pleasing vessels unto you. So we decree what John the Baptist decreed. We say, we decrease so that you would increase. We want more of you, more of you, and less of us. So come, come, come Holy Spirit and fill us up. We pray what Samuel prayed. Speak Lord, your servants are listening. In Jesus' mighty name, the people said, "Amen." Well, part of the prophetic word of this year over mercy culture, I'm going to bring you into because our pastor, pastor, laden shop brings a word over this house every year. he brings a sermon with prophetic words over the house. You can go back and listen to it. It was the first message of the year, but you don't even maybe know this, but the theme of this conference came out of the prophetic words of what God said he was going to do this year. And I'm gonna read you that portion. He said this, this is a year of holy ground experiences. Your greatest season of God encounters begins this year. This year will be an adventure with God. He's going to visit you this year. God is making people and places holy. You will learn how to get into the holy place this year.
There will be many moments that you take off your shoes because you will be on holy ground. You will entertain angels this year. Most of these angelic encounters, you will be unaware, but some of them you will be aware. As Hebrew 13, 2 says us, do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawaringly. This will be, there will be testimonies of angels this year. They will start with our children, then go from our children to the youth, and then the youth to the adult. I don't know if you saw the video towards the beginning of the year of a little girl named Ellie that came up here and begin to testify with her sisters that angels filled their house, that gold dust began to run down her arm. And she began to describe what the angels look like, not knowing what revelation describes the angels to look like. And she began to draw on the paper for her parents. What they look like. And she said there was eyes all over them. And as I came close to them, I felt their eyelashes just on my arm. This is what came from a little girl. Then all of a sudden revival began to break out in our youth and in our school, Mercy Culture Preparatory. There was literally from the end of last year, there was groups all this summer of girls gathering together
and young men gathering together, praying healings begin to break out. My daughter's birthday party at our house for about two and a half hours. I just hear worship, worship it. The piano playing from upstairs that goes from worship to teenage girls crying out to God. Then I felt my ceiling like it was about to burst as they begin to jump and literally wage war on hell. And this is at a birthday party. A teenage girl birthday party. So the word was they would start with our children and go from our children to the youth and then the youth to the adults. It's your time adults. The Lord says make room, make more room rooms for the Lord. There will be more churches and campuses that are birthed in prayer rooms this year. Holy visitations will take place. Where you make room for him. They will be continual and consistent where you make place for him. These encounters will mark your children's children's lives. God spoke this this year to be a year of encounters and visitations, holy ground moments where we would take off our shoes. That we would remove our shoes because the holy glory of God would abide in places that we made room for him. But why is God pouring out now?
Why does he want to visit his people now? Why does he want angelic visitations now? Let's go to scripture in Exodus three, one through 15. This is where we see the actual story of Moses at the burning bush moment. We know that he has been shepherding flock. It's been some time, in fact, 40 years since he fled Egypt and he murdered any Egyptian. So 40 years have now passed. And it says, meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness in the mountain of God. They're the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from within a bush. Moses saw the bush ablaze with fire, but it was not consumed. So he thought like what Pastor Cayley was speaking. I must go over and see this marvelous sight. Why is the bush not burning up? God called out to him from within the bush. Moses, Moses, and Moses answers here I am. He says, "Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals. For the place where you are standing is holy ground." In verse seven, it says this, "Then the Lord, He begins to speak this word purpose." "I have indeed seen the affliction of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, and I am unaware of their sufferings,
and I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey. Then he doubles down on the purpose of this holy ground encounter to make it ever so clear to Moses. And he says, "And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen how severely the Egyptians are oppressing them. Therefore, he calls Moses and he says, "Go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt." And then God brings his promise in the midst of this holy ground encounter to Moses to encourage him for this incredible task, this incredible purpose. And he says, "I will surely be with you, and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt, all, all of you will worship God on this mountain." Moses says, "But what do I say to them? And who is sending to me? Who is sending me?" Verse 14, God says to Moses, "I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites. I am has sent you." He says this, this is my name forever. And this is how I am supposed to be remembered
in every generation. Listen to me this morning, holy ground encounters have God purpose. They have purpose behind them. He is not coming to encounter you, to make your day a little bit better. The God of heavens is not coming to speak to you, so that you would have a little bit more faith to pay that next bill. He is not trying to just make you feel better about yourself or your circumstance. Listen, when the God of the heavens, the creator of the heavens and the earth, the one that created you, the one that created this nation and the nations, the one that created the land and the sea, people and humans, this human being, this being, is speaking to you to release divine purpose over your life. So what is the purpose, first of all, of this removing of our shoes? What is the purpose? Why did he say Moses? Remove your shoes. Let me tell you about a quick demonic encounter that God used that happened last year on July 28th, 2025. Let me take you back a bit. I am, we are coming to the end of our sabbatical, and it's July 28th, a month of July is when we take off where we just set ourselves apart to be with the Lord and to rest.
And I'm tossing and turning all night in my sleep, and I'm having demonic dreams in counters. I'm actually waking up with pain in my body. I would get up and I would pray, and I go back to the height and the climax of what takes place is I see a witch standing on the side of my bed. And I'm trying to rub my eyes to see, am I seeing correctly, what is it? And what it looks like is a black cloud of a messy being, but something in me understands a witch is visiting me. And then I notice it's holding my shoes in front of it, like this, and it's trying to get me to come with it, like this, and I look at the witch, and I point to this dark cloud, and I point at it, and I say in the name of Jesus, put my shoes down and go in Jesus' name. You wanna know what that thing did? That thing set my shoes down, and it left. And I believe God allowed me to have this encounter because it was a forewarning of what was coming against the body of Christ. the purpose that lives on the inside of us, to be able to speak to dark things, and to tell them to go in Jesus' mighty name. So what do the shoes represent? I went into it deep this last Sunday because I preached on demonic dreams and warning dreams. I'm not going to go into it as deep, so you can go listen to that sermon to take it a step deeper, but listen to this. I knew from a previous stream that shoes resembled authority. Biblically, they resemble authority, but I took a deeper dive. And here's some biblical meanings of you. It actually means, biblically, the legal transfer of authority and land ownership. We actually see this in Ruth, where there was an extension of shoes that was given
in this ownership transaction. This happened all throughout in ancient times where they would give their shoe. It was their word. It was their seal that the transaction was finalized. So it was a legal transfer of authority and land ownership. It was also God's sovereign dominion over nations. In fact, they would cast or throw a shoe over a piece of land where it was a symbolic gesture of conquest and a military dominance. It meant the conqueror was planting their foot down and claiming complete ownership. Y'all can put the picture over there. Yes, this was us yesterday. An entire group of us went to go throw our shoes over the justice residence saying, "Oh no, enemy. This is not your ground. This is holy ground. This is kingdom territory where freedom is going to ring for thousands of souls." So this was us yesterday in the middle of a storm chucking shoes. Come on, claiming and taking dominion over territory. It's also the reclaiming of sonship and authority. We see it with a prodigal son where what the father puts a robe, a ring, and shoes on him. Where the reclaiming of that sonship and authority comes. Number four, this is what we're going to get into. The relinquishing of human authority on a holy ground. See what that witch didn't realize is trying to carry my shoes and trying to tempt me with taking my spiritual authority that it didn't understand is I was already submitted to the highest spiritual authority. See, my shoes were off. My shoes were off in this moment. We knelt and we pray because this is what it means when a person was commanded to remove their shoes in the presence of God. It was an act of total submission. It signified the stripping away of one's own earthly authority and rights to recognize God's supreme lordship and authority. Some of you just need to start leaning into this revelation because we come into the church all the time. And because of our religious ways, we look good in our outfits and we just think it's weird. And the Lord says, you better take those shoes off. Oh, that's weird to do that. He's trying to teach you honor. He's trying to teach you what holy submission is. That if you would submit and come under the covering, the presence, the authority of Christ, maybe those battles want to be so hard that you're fighting in your own strength. And he's trying to say the battle is mine. The battle is mine. Stop fighting in your own strength and submit to my spiritual authority. See, when God tells you to remove your shoes, he's saying, remove the boundaries, remove your pride, remove your ways and your plans and come under my authority. See, Moses knew the land. He was a shepherd there for decades. And although he knew and he was aware of that wilderness area, he was about to have a life-altering encounter
that made those walks for 40 years go from familiar to holy. God tells Moses to remove his shoes. Why? To distinguish Moses a man from the awe, the power, the glory of God. He was reminding Moses, even though I'm about to call you into something grand, I want to remind you, you're just a part of this story. how mighty, how magnificent ah, that Moses would understand that all of his all, all of his fear, everything had to be placed what in the almighty presence of God. So he removes his shoes. He realizes he is in the presence of the almighty God. See, this is the warning that many of us that get so excited about the next encounter, the next moment, the next altar call, the next prophecy. That's what our pastor was saying last night. The church is so good at the next thing but doesn't steward what God did before. And not only doesn't steward it, but our ah, we forget whose we are in. Last night did you realize that as the glory and presence of God, I hear the Lord say Heather lay down in the presence for the Lord is in the room and sometimes we get so accustomed to his presence, so accustomed to his, so familiar with God that we forget who's in the room with us. Oh, that is a moment of fear in the all like Moses. Reverence comes over us. I'll remove my shoes. I'll remove my title. I'll remove my following. I'll remove God. Get it off of me. Get the flesh. Get the whatever it is, the rebellion, the flesh. All of it. Get it off of me. You're a holy God. And I want to be a holy bride. Here's your warning. Do not become familiar with God or encounters with God. It is simple, but it is a spiritual and prophetic warning to the body of Christ. Do not become familiar with God encounters. Here's why. Why is that so important? Because many of you are forgetting the purpose of that encounter, of the last encounter, of the encounter 10 years ago, of the encounters 20 years ago, that you have forgotten the purpose. God is encountering you to transform you, to release purpose and God's perfect will over you. But notice I said his perfect will. His plans, his purpose. Listen, I know Jeremiah 29, 11, we like to print on all of our journals, in all of our cups. And it's like the gooey girl verse. This is a prophet that is speaking to God's people in exile because of their disobedience and their rebellion. And in verse 10 of Jeremiah 29, verse 10, he says, you got 70 years in captivity because of their disobedience, because they didn't steward the words of the Lord, because they did not fear God, because they were familiar with the glory moments in the wilderness because over and over each generation took for granted the presence of God. So now with
that understanding, let's read Jeremiah 29, verse 11 through 14, he says, for I know the plans I God has for you, declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope, then you will call upon me and come and pray to me. And I will listen to you. Listen to verse 13, you will seek me and find me when you search me with all of your heart. Do you know, we serve a jealous God that he wants all of you? And he is waiting to respond sometimes. You say, he doesn't speak to me. I haven't heard his voice in months. I've never heard his voice, maybe because he's jealous for all of your heart. And he's waiting for you to surrender some idols. He's waiting for you to actually come to an altar call and get real and throw all of the sin and all of the addiction down, because he wants to be the only God of your life. Verse 13 says, when you search for me with all of your heart, then he says, I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will then restore you from captivity and gather you from all of the nations and places to which I have banished you, declares the Lord. I will restore you to the place from which I sent you into exile. all of you. And if that's the only thing that you get today, if you would just give him every single part of who you are, let go of your ways and your opinions, let go of your sin, let go of your addictions, let go of your pride, he wants all of you. God was not just encountering Moses for Moses' redemption and he's not going to just encounter you this weekend for your redemption because it was a specific hour, a pivotal hour in the kingdom of God for him to act. He chose a holy ground moment to anoint a deliverer to set his people free. See, Moses' God encounter was to set him free, to set God's people free. It was a pivotal hour for God's people where God manifests in a burning bush and then he tells next Moses to take off his shoes, that he then enters into a holy encounter with God and then he receives a holy purpose from God. And then what is the fulfillment of God's holy purpose by delivering God's people out of slavery, in fact we see the same thing with Joshua. If you go to Joshua chapter 5 verse 13 through 15, Joshua has a similar encounter with God where he's about to go in and take the promised land and the walls of Jericho are about to go down, but all of a sudden he has a holy ground encounter.
And it says the commander of the Lord's army came to encounter him and Joshua falls face down in reverence and says, "What does my Lord want to say to his servant?" And he says, "Take off your sandals for the place where you are standing is holy. What happens right after this holy ground encounter is the walls of Jericho come down and God gives Joshua and the people victory over the promised land." I'm leading you somewhere right now. It was another pivotal hour for God's people, 40 more years have passed because of the rebellion and disobedience, but now we're back on track. A new hour has come and God manifests himself through the commander of heaven's armies and then he tells Joshua to take his shoes off and then the holy encounter with God comes. Then the holy purpose is released to Joshua and then what the fulfillment of God's purpose into the promised land, see taking off their shoes was recognizing this holy ground encounter moment with the living God where the fear of the Lord hits them and they recognize. God has something to say. God has something to release to me, a divine purpose to entrust me with. This is so important because I'm bringing order to this Pentecostal chaos that comes where people want to run around a room and then you ask and I'm not saying that running around a room is a bad thing, but if you go home and you have no idea what God did or said or how he was speaking to you, there's a problem. You want it encounter without purpose, without stewarding the fulfillment of what God wants to do and he will stop speaking to a church that doesn't carry the fear and all of the Lord to say, "What are you speaking to me? What purpose do you want to fulfill?" Listen, if God had purpose in Moses' holy ground encounter and in Joshua's holy ground encounter, I'm saying to you this morning, God absolutely has purpose for each of you in your holy ground encounter and guess what? Just like in Moses' time, just like in Joshua's time, we are in a pivotal hour in our nation. If you have not noticed all the scripture talks about in end times, we are seeing breaking out in our world right now, the wars, the rumors of wars, the volcanoes, the earthquakes. It is all taking place, the worship of idols and false gods, the destruction and tearing
the division between family and in churches, the arising of false prophets, especially on social media, the media is the medium that is taking their message into what all of our homes. We have to stop listening and turning on the false prophets. We are opening our lives up to the demonic. This is what Matthew 24, verse 4 through 7, it's Jesus' words, he says, in fact, right before that he has asked the school. And Jesus says, "See to it that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming I am the Christ, and will deceive many." You will hear of wars, rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come, nation will rise against nation. The kingdom against the kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. So we see that we are in a pivotal hour and time in our nation. Not only do we know that God desires to bring holy ground encounters and visitations right now, it's the word of the Lord, and that there is incredible God purpose in those encounters, but we also know that He is specific and intentional for this purpose, for the hour, that we are currently in. So this is my question for you. Why have you forgotten your holy ground encounters? Why have you stopped stewarding what the Lord said to you a camp when you were a teenager? On your grandfather's lap, what he's telling you about the word of God is the first time you felt the presence. When that prophet called you out of the crowd and began to release the word over you, when God gave you that dream and you were stirred and knew that God was speaking to you through this, why have you forgotten your holy ground God encounters? Why are you not stewarding the purposes of God on your life that He spoke to you, that He called you into? Why are you questioning God's purpose in the middle of your mission? See some of you are in it, and you begin to obey and steward it, and then you got weary
in it, and then you begin to question God in the middle of it or what God was doing because you forgot what He originally said in the God encounter. See God says, "Take off your shoes," for you're in holy ground, meaning the response to Moses, He says, "I am the I am." You are not supposed to be the I am. You are the one that is decreasing in the glory and all of the I am. He is the finisher of the mission. Your job is to stay faithful. Your job is to stay submitted to what He originally said because He's saying it's what we sang last night. It's the anthem of this hour as He is saying to the body of Christ, "This victory will be mine. The battle will be mine. The victory will be mine, and I will bring about what I promise. He is saying the battle is the Lord's." Some of you need to remember who spoke to you and get out of the way. Stop thinking about quitting and giving up, stop repeating those words, and just get out of the way and let the Lord fight your battles and bring victory in the purpose that He spoke over your life. I mentioned earlier that God is a jealous God. This is key to understanding reverence and awe in the Lord. What does it mean when we say God is a jealous God? Say when the Bible says that God is jealous, it does not mean He feels human envy or petty insecurity. Human jealousy often means wanting something that belongs to somebody else. That's what a human jealousy is. Let's get into that. Human jealousy, another word for it, is envy. In human relationships, jealousy is usually a sin that is driven by pride and lack of trust, lack of faith.
See, it covets. It happens when we see someone else with a better job, a nicer house or a happier relationship, and we wish we had it instead of them. It also comes from a place of insecurity, and often stems from a fear of losing someone's affection to a rival leading to controlling or toxic behavior. And this is sin. The Bible explicitly warns against this type of jealousy, calling it "rottiness to the bones." We see it in Proverbs 1430, the NLT version says it this way, "A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body, but jealousy is like cancer in the bones." See, this is not a holy jealousy. This is a fleshly jealousy, but let you, I want to teach you so you can understand what divine jealousy or another word would be zeal. See, God's jealousy, again, it's not petty because it's holy. It's intensely protective zeal for His own honor and the safety of His people, because He is the Creator. and ultimate loyalty belonging to him, which is his right because he's the creator. See, when humans worship idols or money, they are giving away something that doesn't belong to those things, so what God is jealous because a theft of his glory is taking place. Did you hear what I said? This is where a righteous anger, a jealousy flows from the Lord when he sees that you worship money instead of trusting him as Jehovah Jairah. When you trust in your own talents and success and you think you got it and you want people to praise you when he said I gave you those talents, I gave you that success.
Then there's a jealousy, a holy jealousy, 'cause he says, "You're stealing my glory and my honor." That is rightfully his. See, the marriage metaphor also, we see this in Hosea too that God often describes his relationship with his people, us as his bride as a marriage. See, if a husband or wife sees her spouse flirting with someone else, a healthy sense of jealousy arises because the marriage covenant is being violated. God's jealousy is that of a faithful spouse whose partner in which his people historically have done this continually commit adultery against him. This is why, if you know where you censor, you've prayed for the nations, I feel God's holy jealousy all of the time because he is raging in jealousy with the false gods in America. With Bel, with Molech, with Ishtar, with these gods in our land, the church that's afraid to speak and doesn't even know where we stand anymore. And so what, if you're close to God or you're intimate, you will feel the jealousy of God for his bride. See, it's for our good that we feel this and that he is this jealous God because, listen, idols always demand a sacrifice and ultimately will end up destroying the people that worship them. And it's harder to tell now with what idols are in our lives, but you can ask the Holy Spirit
to reveal that you say and ask God, what do I look to more than I do God? What do I say, man? God can come through or this could happen. And I put this thing in my life on the same altar as God doing a miracle. See, God's jealousy protects us from destroying ourselves by keeping us anchored to the only one true source of life. So this is what it comes down to. Divine jealousy and human jealousy comes down to ownership, motive, and morality. See, while human jealousy is almost always rooted in sin and insecurity, God's jealousy is rooted in holiness and justice. What is right in his eyes? In fact, it's the Hebrew word al-Qunah. It means God's holy jealousy that is dynamic. It is passionate 'cause it is full of a fierce love for you. It's directly tied to historic moments like when Israel broke their covenant with him. In this story of Moses leading God's people out of slavery. They come to this moment, the mountain, Mount Sinai. We see the story of the golden calf in chapter 32. In this moment, it's when Israel gives the credit for the rescue from Egypt to a metal statue directly violating the brand new commandment that they were given that says this, "For I the Lord your God, Amajelah's God." We stayed in Exodus 20 verse one through six. When God speaks these words to his people,
where he says in verse two, "I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt." He makes it very clear this was my intention. This was my purpose. I heard your cries and I answered your cries. I brought you out of the house of slavery and he says this, "You shall have no other gods before me." And then he says, "You shall make for yourself. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in the heavens above or on the earth or below. You shall not bow down to them nor worship them for I the Lord your God, Amajelah's God." See God's original purpose for this holy ground encounter with Moses so this people would not only be set free. God was setting them free out of the bondage of Egypt, not just physically, but when I opened up and said, but spiritually he wanted a reunion or God's picture of this day. On the holy mountain was to bring his bride back to him to help this holy wedding moment. Ah, it breaks my heart. This is the picture that he has on the inside of him when he's calling Moses at the holy ground moment is don't just get them free out of Egypt, but you're gonna bring him to this mountain. And my people are gonna worship me again. We see it in Exodus 3, 12,
where he says this will be the sign to you that I have sent you. He says, when you have brought them out of Egypt, all of you, remember this portion of scripture, all of you will worship God on this mountain. See God playing this beautiful moment on this holy mountain to bring forth his words, to keep his bride faithful to him, to protect them, to remain in unity with them so that God's blessing and power would remain on them as they submitted to him. See, this is the foreshadowing moment of Christ's return for his bride. This is Christ waiting on a church and a bride is gonna make herself ready in this holy moment for his coming and this is what God is picturing with his people in this moment is that he is coming for a holy bride that is so excited to worship their God 'cause he's set him free, but he finds something completely different. He sends Moses back up the mountain to retrieve the words of the Lord and God begins to speak to Moses in this holy jealousy. And he says these rebellious stiff-necked people, they have formed an image and an idol and instead of waiting on me, all that crushes my heart. It crushes my heart 'cause God makes his purpose so clear that he didn't just wanna set him free, he wanted intimacy with his bride, but they get weary in waiting. The Bible says that they get weary in Moses' delay.
It sounds like scripture in the New Testament, the virgins that don't bring enough oil and that when Christ returns that the bride or the virgin bride is not ready for his return. And one of the stiff-necked people do because they get weary in waiting instead of taking off their shoes. For a holy ground moment, the Bible says that they begin to take off their gold from the land of Egypt and they begin to form gods. They begin to form idols and celebrate with the priest with Aaron. Ah, they begin to worship and give their adoration to a false God. They forgot the purpose. They forgot the purpose of the holy ground encounter. This is the warning, do not fall into temptation and sin while waiting on the Lord and for his purposes to unfold. Do not get weary in the waiting. Do not get weary in the Lord's next steps in the purpose that he's called you to. Many of you received calls like a Moses and an Abraham and years or decades could go by. Don't forget what God said. Still stewarded daily in your daily encounters and with the fear of the Lord with hope and faith, knowing that your God is not a man that he should lie. The same way that God has a purpose for your holy ground encounter so does the enemy.
The enemy has a plan for your holy ground moments. Let me tell you what his plan is. One, that you take them for granted. Two, that you become familiar with them in God's presence. Three, that you forget about them in God and that for you turn to idols. It sounds like so much of the church today. Help us Lord, that we are stewarding the plans of the enemy from our encounters better than we are God's plans and purposes. From our encounters. He's jealous for all of your affection. He's jealous for all of you worship team. Come up. Hear me today. There is purpose in every encounter and holy moment with God. He is choosing you in that moment. I'm looking into your faces. He is choosing you when he reveals himself as Messiah. When he reveals himself as Savior, when he reveals himself as Redeemer, when he reveals himself as your provider. He is revealing himself to you because he adores you and he is obsessed. He is choosing you. He is stirring you for the battle that's ahead. He wants to form you into the warrior that he's called you to be. Listen, he's coming closer to you so that you will look like him, sound like him, live more like him. Listen, his purpose is not for that ground to stay holy ground.
His purpose is not for this sanctuary to stay holy. See the holy ground encounters. He wants to go from making a place holy to making a people holy that's the purpose of your nose in a carpet. That's your purpose of looking into a flame. It's your purpose, why every day it doesn't matter what you're late to or what you cancel, but what you won't cancel is your time and the holy place with God because he has something to say to you and he wants to make you holy. Ephesians 5, 25 is this picture where he takes marriage as the picture and he says just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up to her to sanctify her by the cleansing and the washing of the water through the Word. And a percent heard to himself as a glorious church. This is his intention without staying or wrinkle or any such blemish but to be holy and blameless. That's his intention of intimacy with you is to not make the ground holy, but to call you to that place to make you holy like your bridegroom. Have you taken this for granted? Have you forgotten his purposes for your holy ground encounters? Ask yourself, have you forgotten? First of what he called you into 30 years ago, 20 years ago, 10 years ago, last year. I'm going to go back to our opening scripture. Acts 7, it's the call of Moses. Stephen is sharing the call of Moses or what? He is testifying of a 1,500 year ago holy ground encounter as his final words. In this portion of scripture, I feel the Holy Ghost. In this portion of scripture, this is verses before he is martyred, before he is stoned to death.
He's staving out of all of the words, out of all of the encounters, out of all of the miracles and all of the signs and all of the wonders that gone has performed over 1,500 years. His last testimony is of Moses and the holy ground moment for the Holy Ghost. They were persecuting him for blasphemy, God and Moses. They accused him of this, yet they look at Stephen and he is radiating the glory and the presence of God. Do you remember who else came down the mountain radiating the presence and the glory of God? Moses came down radiating the presence and glory of God. And as Stephen is trying to remind, still 1,500 years later, this stiff-necked rebellious people of the holy ground encounter. It says that they looked at him. The glory of God is on him. And he begins to lean in and rebuke them in this glory moment. [inhales deeply] [inhales deeply] And as he begins to rebuke them, it says that they begin to nash their feet, their thirteenth. And it says this, his accusers took off their coats, and they lay them at the feet of a young man named Saul again. They don't take off their shoes. They don't recognize the holy ground encounter moment. They don't submit to the power of the living God, but they take off their coats, symbolizing that they were going to take the blood of Stephen on their own hands and their pride. Oh, removing the discomfort and the weight to be able to throw those stones easier. They instead have an unholy encounter moment
by removing their clothes and throwing them at the feet of Saul, the leader of the persecution of the Christians. Oh, why, why out of all of the stories? Did Stephen share this moment, signing his death certificate? To be stoned to death and martyred for Christ. Stephen was a king to man. Ah, everybody knew that the spirit of the living God lived in him. He was a man of encounters, and he knew even despite him being martyred that there was a young man named Saul who was going to have the jacket thrown at the feet of. See, it wasn't for the stiff-necked people, but it was for a man that would hear of an ancient holy ground encounter that would begin to stir something in a man named Saul that would later be on a road called Damascus. That would bring another holy ground encounter moment that would transform his life from Saul to Paul, to preach the gospel around the nations, and to call the people of God back to their bright chrome Jesus, stand to your feet, stand to your feet, lift your hands this morning to a holy call. Oh, lift your hands. Oh, hodianababa yay! Whoo! Come on, lift up all of your worship. Oh, come on, lift your hands. Turn your attention toward the holy God. Oh, turn your attention toward the holy God. Turn your attention toward the holy God. Oh, he's here. He's here.
He's here. He's here. Oh, will you pour out your affection? Oh! Come on, call on him, church. Call on him. Come on, call on him. Call on him. Are you hungry for him? Are you desperate for him this morning to you on all of them? Oh, come on, lift up all of your worship. Oh, come on, lift up all of your worship. Oh, come on, lift up all of your worship. too would have planned it differently." But then tell him that I didn't ask him how to write the story. God chose Moses as a part of the fulfillment of his story. God writes it how he wants it written. See, Moses would have chosen someone else altogether to do this task. He tried to convince God. Call somebody else. Moses would have chosen not to have gone to Pharaoh over and over and over and over. Moses would have chosen a different route into the wilderness where Pharaoh's army didn't chase them to the Red Sea. See, Moses probably would have chosen a lot of things differently. faith when I'm back home watching in Washington DC and so I want to encourage you share your testimony as we're going throughout these sessions and we'll give even an other opportunity you can text testimony to 590 90 and send us your testimony we would love to even feel comfortable for us to share and testify what God has done in your life what God is speaking to you because God is speaking and moving in this conference I don't know I truly mean this I'm not being hyperbolic this is probably the most intense spiritually charged conference we've ever done you can feel it tangibly in the room and I think like starting with last night - it's like you can't really go down from there and if you thought there's no art from there there's only up and I think that like I know it's the preparation of the prayers of the fasting yes and it's so tangible and it's tangible in y'all's homes too and we know that we've experienced that ourselves and even like as I was in there I was like okay when I I was like, there's people online that are, you know, declaring a sound mind over themselves or their family. And we want you all to testify of what the Lord has done in this service. And also just say that the sound mind is for you, the same things that are happening here in the sanctuary are the same things that God has in store for you, deliverance, freedom, and just reconciliation is really what's good on my heart for the online viewers in general. So yeah. Absolutely. One of the prophetic words over our house is that this would be a year we would consecrate space and make them holy. And so that when we had that moment when we took off our shoes, I was trying to message Celine. I was like, make sure they're doing this at home, make sure they're taking off your shoes in your home, make your home a consecrated space. Worth is not the only consecrated space. The holy spirit is omnipresent. The same holy spirit that hit us five minutes ago in the sanctuary is the same holy spirit
that's going to hit you in your living room or at your friend's house when you're watching at a watch party or maybe you're watching on your phone when you're at work. That same holy spirit is present. It might be weird and awkward, but I've done that several times when we've been watching. I mean, last marked conference to me, my wife, we're home, we had those holy moments right in my living room. My little two year old is right next to me as I'm crying on the floor and the power of God hit us in those spaces. We want to hear about those testimonies, so we really want to encourage for you to share your testimony with us, text it to testimony to 590-90 or even share it in the comments here. We love seeing what God is doing as people are sharing and testifying, they're asking for prayer, but also letting us know, wait, God spoke to me at this moment. We want to know what's happening in those spaces and even as you're mentioning, holy ground, our homes should be holy ground. They should be set apart for our children, for our husbands, our wives, and whoever's in your home, but it should be holy ground. And so taking off and even declaring that and throwing shoes, I don't know if everybody heard that, but throw some shoes. Don't hit anybody in your house, but I took my shoes off, I mean, it was a beautiful holy moment. We even have some of that. I mean, if you see some of our merch we got over here that we're going to be giving away. If you look at the front here, it's Moses in the burning bush and you flip it over. I love this too. This is holy ground and it lists all of our Mercy culture campuses and the online campus as well too. And so we'll be giving away some of that merch and then we have this one over here. Check this out. Oh, it's the wage war, I love this.
I know you guys have been looking for it, we're going to be talking with Pastor Jazz. She just got called into another podcast recording, and so it's going to get pushed back a little bit. But we're definitely going to be going deeper, you're going to be hearing more about that new song, wage war. I mean, every time we do this and it's the room just explodes, like literally when Pastor Wendy gets up there and she's like, wait, I was like, I can't hit that note, but I was praying for her. I was like, go, go, go. She needs some water. I mean, it was so like, it's a powerful note, like you think, you know, worship is pleasing to God, but like the different people that can hit the things that reach a different space. I'm like, I know she's your wife, but she's like, that even the specific note she can hear, I was like, that is war. It is spiritual warfare, worship in warfare, something actually she's going to be talking about in our online campus later future on, how to war through worship. And so do that in your homes. I still hit the wage war note in my house. It's probably off a couple of semitones or so, but that's just for me and my family. So and you can do that too. And so even if you don't have the same voice, spacer jazz or my wife, faster Wendy, still wage war, still testified, this is how we engage in spiritual warfare. And I was just so encouraged by the word that that pastor Heather brought. I mean, every time I'm so glad that that's one of our unique characters to be a power woman in ministry, like she has spoken into my life and to my family's life so much and challenged me and sharpened us into growth. So I think that word on zeal is just for me as well too. She can take a story from the Bible that you've heard millions of times and then there's fresh revelation because she's passionate and it's like, I'm just so thankful.
Of course, we have so many great pastors, but pastor Heather's passionate. If you haven't watched the whole service, go back rewatch it. I know we do, but it's like her passion brings new revelation to what she's speaking about and a new revelation on what Holy ground can look like for everybody.
