Hey, welcome to Crossroads. I'm Victor Martinez, and whether or not you're coming here for the first time or you've grown up in a church or you're exploring honestly and you're not sure about who Jesus is, we are very happy that you are here with us because during the next few weeks we will be entering into some of the most intense, personal, and provocative statements that Jesus made about himself. The statement is, I am. And these are not nice phrases for a cup or an Instagram post. No. Jesus said things like, I am the light of the world, I am the good shepherd, I am the way, the truth, and the life. These are huge statements, and honestly, if Jesus really is who he said he was, that changes absolutely everything. That can change your life. We live in a world full of opinions, personal truths, and people trying to make up their own path. But Jesus doesn't say, hey, come here, I'm going to show you a path you can follow. No, he says, I am the way, not another option, not a spiritual life hack. Today, we will explore the meaning of what it means to trust in Jesus. As a teacher, as an inspiration, not only that, but as the source of life and direction for your life. No matter where you are spiritually, our hope is that you not only listen to these words and move forward. We want you to think about them, to fight with them, to ask honest questions about Jesus, who you are. Because perhaps the question is not only, what did Jesus say? Perhaps the real question is, why can his words impact me today? And if there is more truth, more depth, and more invitation to the words of Jesus than we imagine, then it may be that our lives can be impacted and be different. So while we listen to the message together, wherever you are, we are very happy that you are here. This is a biography of Jesus written by one of his closest friends. In this book, Juan records seven iconic statements of I am made by Jesus, seven metaphors, and seven self-portraits of the living God. This week, Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the life. This is how it is narrated in the book of Juan, chapter 14. Jesus said, Do not be troubled. Believe in God, and believe in me. In the house of my Father there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will return and take you with me, so that wherever I may be, you may also be. You know the way where I am going. Thomas said, Lord, we do not know where you are going. How will we know the way? And Jesus answered him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father if it is not through me. If you had known me, you would also have known my Father. Now you know him, and you have seen him. Well, hello, hello. Happy Memorial Day weekend. I am, I must tell you that I am very excited about what we are going to talk about today, but I must start with a story that is a confession, and it is this. If you come to know me, you will know this. I have a mortal fear of heights. It is not just a little. I mean that, genuinely and shamefully, my wife and children make fun of my fear of heights. And that is why I want to take you to a place that is always a very powerful place of prayer for me. It is at the top of this attraction. If you are not in Cincinnati, this is the Drop Tower. It is in Kings Island Park in Cincinnati. And although I hate heights, I have been to this attraction probably five times, and each time it is the fault of a small child. If it were my nephews or my children, when we take them to Kings Island, they say, Uncle Chuck, I want to go up to the tower. Maria looks at me and says, Uncle Chuck will go with you. I end up at the attraction, and it is always the same experience. They have that security bar that they give you, and I am grabbing that bar so hard that my black knuckles turn white. If that is possible, that is what happens. I am clinging with deadly force, as if everything went wrong at the Drop Tower.

The news would say that 34 people died today. But a man named Chuck Mingo survived because he was clinging to the bar with enough strength to save himself. As if it did not matter, it will not matter. And the reason I thought about this story is that there is something that you and I cling to with deadly force. Y eso es lo que estamos analizando en esta serie. Esta es la primera semana de nuestra serie, La Exhibición de Jesús. Jesús se describe con siete autorretratos en el Evangelio de Juan. ¿Quién era Juan? De hecho, Juan era uno de los 12 discípulos. Pero más que eso, él era uno de los tres más cercanos. Era muy cercano a Jesús. Y Juan escribe esto para ayudarnos a entender quién es Jesús.

Lo interesante es que, a lo largo de todo el Evangelio de Juan, él está en las historias. Está presente ahí mismo. Así que él cuenta las historias de las que fue testigo presencial, pero nunca se refiere a sí mismo por su nombre. Lo sabemos porque nos dice por qué escribió su Evangelio en Juan 20, 31. Estas cosas han sido escritas para que ustedes crean que Jesús es el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios, y para que, al creer, tengan vida en su nombre. Hay dos palabras para vida en griego. Una es bios, de biología, las funciones básicas. La otra es zoe, la que usa aquí. Significa vida abundante, una plenitud de vida. Juan quería que tú y yo supiéramos que en Jesús podemos encontrar vida abundante. Quizás no lo sepas, pero hoy es el cumpleaños de la iglesia de Jesús, es Pentecostés.

Pentecostés significa cincuagésimo y celebra que 50 días después de la resurrección, los discípulos fueron empoderados por el Espíritu Santo de Dios, el Espíritu que nos da vida zoe. Así que mientras avanzamos en esta serie hoy, ya seas un escéptico, ya seas un buscador que busca la verdad genuina, o tal vez seas como yo, un seguidor de Jesús, quien cuando es honesto, puede aferrarse con fuerza mortal a cosas que no son Jesús. Así que sería útil entender el contexto en el que Jesús se las dijo a sus discípulos. Son 24 horas, menos de 24 horas antes de que Jesús sea brutalmente asesinado y muera en la cruz. Y les ha dicho a sus discípulos una y otra vez, amigos, voy a morir. Amigos, voy a sufrir. Y sus 12 seguidores más cercanos, sus discípulos no saben qué pensar. No están simplemente confundidos. The hearts of the disciples were troubled and I think our hearts can be. I want to talk to Christians for a minute, people who would intellectually say, yes, I think Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. And my question is, when your heart is troubled, is He the first place you turn to? Here are questions of reflection that I know can be very revealing to me. First question, what do you check when you wake up? Someone said, wow. What do you check at the first hour of the morning? Here's one.

What would devastate you if you lost it? Jesús dice estas palabras hoy, en amor, porque Él ve tu corazón turbado, Él ve mi corazón turbado, y por eso empieza con estas palabras en Juan 14, 1, no dejen que sus corazones se turben. Crean en Dios, crean también en mí. Verán, Jesús quiere que sepamos de inmediato lo que busca, y lo que busca es confianza. Porque amigos, ¿saben cuál es lo opuesto a un corazón turbado? Un corazón que confía. Y Jesús quiere que tengas un corazón que confíe en Él. Así que sigue diciendo estas palabras, en la casa de mi padre hay muchas moradas, si no fuera así, les habría dicho que voy a preparar un lugar para ustedes, y si voy y preparo un lugar para ustedes, volveré, y los tomaré conmigo para que donde yo esté, ustedes también estén. Y ustedes conocen el camino a donde voy. esos alos amarillos que vemos alrededor de sus cabezas en el arte. Pero como decía Lee Corso, cada sábado por la mañana en College Game Day, no tan rápido, mi amigo, no tan rápido. Aparece Tomás, amo a Tomás. Creo que Tomás es uno de mis seguidores de Jesús favoritos, uno de mis discípulos favoritos. Tomás es el tipo en tu grupo que dice la parte callada en voz alta. Y necesitamos a los Tomás en nuestras vidas. Necesitamos a los Tomás así. Y Tomás está dispuesto a interrumpir este momento con una pregunta honesta a Jesús. Sabes, puede que hayas oído de Tomás, pero puede que lo hayas oído con su desafortunado apodo, Tomás el dudoso. Oye, ¿te imaginas que lo peor que hiciste se convierta en el apodo por el que todos te conozcan siempre? ¿Qué tan malo sería? Olvidas un aniversario y tu esposa te llama Frank el olvidadizo por siempre. Sería terrible. ¿Sabes qué? Estás en un grupo, haces una pregunta incómoda y eres Ana la incómoda siempre. Eso sería realmente muy malo. Sería como faltara un trabajo grupal en la escuela o universidad. Y de repente, todos tus amigos empezaran

a llamarte Susana la perezosa. Oh, espera, Susana la perezosa se quedó. Y no sé a quién se lo hizo, pero lastimó a alguien con su pereza. No sé quién fue, no sé quién fue, pero quizás hayas oído a Tomás llamado el incrédulo. Creo que es desafortunado. Yo lo llamo Tomás el honesto, porque Tomás está dispuesto a robar. I want to break that moment of fantasy and say out loud what all the disciples already thought. He says this in verse 5. Lord, we don't know where you're going. How can we know the way? Don't you have moments in your life where that's your question? Don't things arise and you say, Lord, I don't know what you're doing. I don't know where you're going. How can I know the way? I love the honesty of Thomas here. Thomas could be the patron saint of Crossroads. We call ourselves a real place for real people. Like I said, I call him Thomas the honest. You can call him Thomas the direct. I love Thomas. And Thomas asked the question, and because he asked an honest question, we get this honest answer from Jesus. Again, I'm going to read this several times because I want these words of Jesus to sink into your spirit today. Jesus said to him and to us, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me. Now I have to admit that for many of you, this is not the first time you've heard these words. And that maybe these words were used as bait when you asked legitimate questions.

I have many friends in my life who don't follow Jesus. I have friends in my life who are Jewish. I have friends who are Hindu. I have friends who are Muslim. And we get into these conversations, and there's an honest question they ask me. Chuck, are you saying that even though I love and follow a path, which I believe is the path of God, because I don't say that Jesus is God, are you saying that I'm going to hell? That's a legitimate question, and I want you to know, I'm sorry if someone used this verse as a bait to say, just shut up and follow the program. Because that's not how Jesus uses these words. He uses them to comfort his disciples in their moments of need and troubled hearts. This is not so much a truth to defend, but a promise to hold on to. Jesus is doing what Brené Brown called kind in her clarity. She says that being clear is being kind. Jesus is being exclusive. He says that there's no other way to life with the Father you love. There's no other way to what you could call heaven or eternal life. He says that absolutely. But Jesus doesn't say it as a search for power. He says it because he's making a promise. A promise that only he can fulfill. You know, each one of these seven declarations of I Am has inherent in them an invitation and a challenge. The invitation of Jesus to say, I am the way, the truth, and the life, is actually the invitation to find the life you really seek. To find the life you really yearn for. The challenge is to believe him.

Trust him. Trust him, if you want to. Exclusively. One of the things my family will do tomorrow is go see the new Mandalorian movie, Grogu, because we love Mandalorian at home. We're big fans of Star Wars. And the thing is, if you know anything about the Mandalorian, one of the big things they say over and over is, this is the way. Jesus says to his disciples in their troubled hearts, I am the way. This is the way. Can I be honest with you for a few minutes? Because my name is Chuck and I'm your friend. I just want to tell you that self-fulfillment is not the way. Our culture tells us that if you can focus on yourself, if you can manifest, if you can find your inner self and fix yourself, you can achieve the life you've always wanted. And I'm here to tell you that that's not the way. You can't fix yourself with more of yourself. It's not the way. It's not the way. And therapy alone is not the way. I believe in therapy. I'm in therapy. I'm not against therapy. What therapy can do very well is help you expose and understand your brokenness.

But we need God to heal our brokenness. So therapy alone is not the way. Following religious rules is not the way. You can become very, very good doing the things you think make you a good Christian and you can have a proud heart, a jealous heart. That doesn't change your heart. Following religious rules alone is not the way. It's not the way. Money is not the way. Money can buy you a lot of things. I'll accept more money. But you talk to anyone who has a lot more money than you and they'll tell you that money can't buy you peace. Money is not the way. Success, achievement is not the way. Wow, I did think that was the way. Wow, that was my story. But I'm here to tell you that once you go up the mountain that you thought was the way, to the thing, you will reach the top and you will realize that it was the wrong mountain or there is another mountain to climb. When does this end? Success is not the way. Jesus is the only way. And here's why. Because Jesus offers a better way. He offers a better way. Tim Keller is a pastor who has greatly impacted my spiritual path. He died a year ago. I am always amazed at what he says about this. He said the following, Why is Jesus the best way to experience the freedom you long for? It's because any other way that promises you freedom says this, the way you free yourself is by eliminating all restrictions. We just have to admit that this is part of how we think about freedom in American terms, right? My freedom is that I can do what I want in the terms I want.

No one can tell me what to do. I can be independent. Have you ever tried to live like this? I'm serious. Have you ever tried to spend on whatever you want for sex, with whoever you want to have sex with, drink and go out to parties, however you want to drink and go out to parties, chasing greed and things as much as you want? If you've ever tried it, and by the way, I've tried those things. Do you know where they take you? They take you to a place where you feel exhausted and empty. It doesn't work. Andy Crouch is a great thinker and says this about any addiction, anything that pretends to be something that controls our lives. He says this, Every addiction makes the same promise, that this is the way you can be like God. This is how you can run away from your vulnerability. This is how you can control your life. This is how you can get all the pleasure and everything you want. And he says that the problem is that every addiction works, the first time, but it doesn't last. And as time goes by, it demands more and more of you, as it fulfills less and less of its promise. There's a father from the old church, his name was Agustin, an African man. And St. Agustin, maybe you know him by that name, wrote a book called Confessions. And there he is honest. I love how raw and sincere he is. He says, friends, before Jesus, I tried everything. I tried everything. He talks about his sexual conquests.

He talks about his career. He talks about how he even joined a sect. All those things, trying to find the way, trying to find the life he was looking for, trying to be free, just to come to this conclusion. I love these words. He says, you created us for you, oh Lord. And our heart is restless until it finds its rest in you. Only the way of Jesus leads to true freedom, because here is the unexpected twist when we talk about being free. Freedom is not based on independence. You think that independence is the way to freedom, and it's not like that. Your freedom comes from being independent. Independence with the Creator who knows you, with the Creator who understands you, with the Creator who, through his sacrifice, has offered you the only thing that can really give you the freedom that you and I yearn for. Jesus is a better way to freedom. Let's talk about meaning. When we talk about meaning, we end up turning the meaning of our life into things that can barely hold the weight. Until no longer. Did anyone here think that a career, a specific job, was going to give you meaning and you achieved it? And maybe it worked. So you lost that job.

Maybe it worked. But you realize that you don't like that career. You know, for others, we think that the approval of others, if I could get someone to approve me, if I could get that affirmation, that would be enough until the affirmation fades away. For some, we think it was a beautiful body. We think that if we could take care of ourselves and be beautiful or strong, have control of our physical domain, that would be what would satisfy us until the diagnosis takes that away from you. For others, we think, man, if we only find the ideal partner, if I could marry the right person, I would be so happy if I found my half-orange. If I could find her, I would be happy. hasta que despiertas un día y te das cuenta de que no te gusta esa persona. Y ya sea que los dejes o ellos te dejen, pero no te da el significado que buscabas. Se basó en la vida de Pablo y hablábamos de cómo obtener la esperanza que queremos. Y quizás recuerden este versículo. Hablamos de ello cada semana, Romanos 5, 3 y 4. Dice, el sufrimiento en el camino de Jesús, el sufrimiento produce perseverancia, que produce carácter, que produce esperanza. Solo en el camino de Jesús, el sufrimiento se metaboliza no para quitarte el sentido, sino para fortalecer tu sentido. Porque Jesús es un mejor camino al sentido. Hablemos de identidad. Vivimos en un contexto actual, donde observamos cada cosa a través del cristal de nuestra identidad primaria. Lo vemos todo. Esto es lo que el mundo nos enseña. El mundo dice, así encuentras la vida. Miras dentro de ti, encuentras lo que te parece más verdadero y luego construyes toda tu identidad alrededor de eso. Y construyes una tribu de personas que comparten esa identidad contigo. Y cualquiera que no esté de acuerdo, bueno, es tu enemigo y así vives. Y quiero decirte que cualquier otra fuente de identidad es una trampa de desempeño y una mentira. Porque toda otra forma de identidad te exige esto. Dice, oye, antes de tener la etiqueta, debes aceptar la doctrina. Tienes que alinearte con lo que decimos. Y hacemos esto todo el tiempo. Lo hacemos con nuestras identidades nacionales, raciales y sexuales. Lo hacemos con nuestras identidades políticas. Y todas esas identidades te obligan a probarlo, a decir que estás de acuerdo, a hacer las declaraciones correctas y tener el estilo de vida correcto. Y si no lo haces, si haces algo fuera de paso con lo que la tribu ha dicho, serás cancelado más rápido de lo que canta un gallo. Es porque toda otra identidad es una trampa de rendimiento.

Únicamente en Jesús poseemos una identidad que se nos otorga y no se gana. Lo cual significa que no te agobia, pues no sientes que debes mantenerla haciendo todo lo que la tribu dice que es correcto. Pero tampoco excluye a otros. Te permite tener un círculo de amor más amplio. La buena nueva del Evangelio de Jesús es que tu valor ya estaba decidido antes de que creyeras en Jesús. Te lo diré aún mejor. La Biblia lo dice de esta manera en Romanos. Mientras aún éramos pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros. Tengo un tío predicador, el tío Otis, y amo su traducción. Él dice, Chuck, mientras odiábamos a Dios, Él nos amaba. No sólo antes de creer, sino cuando odiabas a Jesús. No queríamos tener nada que ver con Jesús. Él ya había probado cuánto vale tu vida al morir en una cruz en tu lugar. Entonces, antes de que aceptaras la identidad de amado, el discípulo que Jesús ama, como dice Juan, antes de aceptar ese título, Jesús ya había proclamado sobre tu vida que eres digno. Que vales la pena, que eres amado y que eres perdonado. Que no estarás solo. Y entonces, al entrar en esta identidad con Jesús, qué gran alivio es. Me deja amarme y me permite amarte a ti. Y, por cierto, me permite amar a enemigos. Hablamos sobre justicia, una brújula moral. Casi todo movimiento de justicia se devora a sí mismo. Esto es cierto a la izquierda y a la derecha. Si miras cualquier momento en que ha habido algo así, a menudo, no siempre, pero a menudo, terminan devorándose a sí mismos. Porque el asunto es este. Si tu brújula moral se basa en que nosotros estamos bien y ellos mal, lo único que haces es reemplazar a un opresor por otro al llegar al poder.

Eso haces. Vemos que esto pasa en nuestro país ahora. Esto es lo que ha ocurrido en nuestro país todo este tiempo. Que una vez en el poder dicen, bien, ahora tenemos el poder, ahora vamos a oprimirlos. Y luego cuando cambia, dicen, bien, ahora estamos en el poder, vamos a oprimirlos. Porque cuando se trata de que tú estés en lo correcto, debes tener un enemigo del otro lado. Pero solo la identidad y la justicia de Jesús nos ayudan a comprender dos cosas al mismo tiempo. Cada persona, incluyéndome a mí, está más rota aida de lo que puedo imaginar. Y cada persona, yo incluido, es más valiosa y amada de lo que jamás podríamos soñar. Esa es la gracia de la justicia de Jesús. Y es por eso que puedo luchar ferozmente por la justicia y aún así extender gracia. Por eso digo la verdad y amo a mis enemigos. Porque Jesús ofrece un camino mejor, una esperanza más. Otro camino da esperanza con fecha de vencimiento. Solo Jesús da una esperanza que la muerte no destruye. Quiero compartir un ejemplo contigo de esto. Es por eso que Jesús dice, es por eso que Jesús no dice, soy un camino, soy una verdad, soy una vida. Él dice, yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida. ¿Por qué Jesús descarta otras opciones? Porque Él es el único camino que puede hacer estas promesas y cumplirlas. Por eso es tan exclusivo con esto.

Porque sabes lo que anhelamos bajo todo esto, bajo nuestra búsqueda de sentido y de satisfacción y libertad e identidad, debajo de nuestro deseo de justicia y esperanza, debajo de todo eso es que anhelamos un hogar. Eso es lo que anhelamos. ¿Qué es tu hogar? C.S. Lewis, gran escritor, escribió, mero cristianismo. Tiene una metáfora poderosa sobre lo que realmente anhelamos y lo plantea así. Dice que los jóvenes no han vivido lo suficiente para comprender esto, pero los mayores lo entienden de forma inherente. Y ahora que estoy en la categoría de los mayores, lo entiendo, lo comprendo mejor. Dice, si vives lo necesario, aprenderás que aquello que pensabas que te satisfaría, no lo hará. No habla de cosas malas, sino de las mejores. Si creíste que era el matrimonio, puedes tener el mejor y aún sentirás un vacío. Si pensaste que eran los viajes y experiencias distintas, puedes tener todas las experiencias del mundo y al final seguirás anhelando algo más. Puedes tener una carrera totalmente exitosa que amas y en la que eres altamente exitoso. Y al final de eso, todavía habrá algo en ti que anhela más. Y él dice, cuando llegas a ese punto donde te das cuenta de que tus deseos nunca serán satisfechos por nada en este mundo,

tienes tres opciones. Opción número uno, puedes seguir cazando. Voy a dejar a esta esposa y buscaré otra. Voy a dejar esta carrera y buscaré otra. Voy a tener estas experiencias porque quizás me den lo que busco. Dice que si haces eso, acabarás como todo adicto. Terminarás agotado, vacío y no funcionará. Tienes otra opción y es simplemente cerrarte por completo a la alegría. Resígnate a que esta vida será un asco. Habrá dolor y nunca estaré satisfecho. Dice, si haces eso, empiezas a morir de dentro hacia afuera. Dice, pero tienes una tercera opción. La tercera es, cuando empiezas a entender que tienes deseos que este mundo nunca podrá satisfacer, tal vez sea momento de llegar a la conclusión de que fuiste creado para otro mundo. Fuiste hecho para otro mundo. El lo explica así, dice, los patitos desean el agua porque el agua existe. Los bebés quieren la leche materna porque la leche existe. Y dice, tú y yo anhelamos casa porque existe un lugar como casa, pero quizás nuestro hogar está más allá del mundo. Por eso Jesús dice en Juan 14.3, tras hablar del camino, la verdad y la vida, que si va a preparar un lugar para ustedes, volveré otra vez y los tomaré para mí para que donde yo esté, ustedes estén también.

Jesús dice que él es el camino a casa. Es el camino real a casa. Es el único camino a casa. Y es el camino a casa que lleva a la vida. Vamos a terminar en un lugar diferente hoy. Y eso es que vamos a admirar una obra de arte juntos. Miraré esta pintura, se llama la incredulidad de Tomás. Aquí está Tomás de nuevo. Después, cuando Jesús resucitó, todos los discípulos lo vieron, pero Tomás no. Tomás dice, si no pongo mi dedo en sus heridas, no creeré que resucitó. Y este es el momento cuando Jesús viene a Tomás y le dice, oye, pon tu dedo en mi costado. Y quiero usar esto para hacer algo que ha sido una práctica de la iglesia durante siglos llamada vicio divina. Significa visión divina. Y consiste en mirar una obra de arte con oración. Y permites que Dios use esa obra de arte para ayudarte a mostrarte algo sobre sí mismo. Eso haremos juntos. Antes, solo quiero darte un poco de ayuda con esto. Let me help you understand Caravaggio, the artist here, wanted to bring Jesus to the people of his time. He wanted them to see Jesus as one of them.

So the models for these men are street workers in Italy. That's where this came from. So if it helps you, think of these people as if they were wearing Bengals shirts, or wearing Reds clothes, or living in your neighborhood, whatever you do to help you not stumble with that. The point is that Jesus comes to us in our real worlds. Let's reflect a little on this work of art. The first thing I want to ask, what do you see first? Where do your eyes go? Almost everyone goes to the finger of Thomas and to the side of Jesus. Caravaggio painted it in a way that you can't help but see it. And it feels a little uncomfortable, right? It almost feels like you should be seeing this intimate moment. And the answer is absolutely. I encourage you to look again, and particularly to observe Jesus. I didn't see him the first time I looked at the painting. It's the hand of Jesus, guiding Thomas' finger to his side. And Jesus is the least dressed person in the painting. You know why? Because Jesus comes to us in full intimacy. That's what he's looking for in us. And that's what he offers us.

Jesus is like, Thomas, I'm going to ask you another question. Who are you in the painting? Are you Thomas? Are you a person who has to see it for himself? If you are, Jesus is open. He receives your questions. Or are you one of the other two disciples? You're there, but you're curious. You're not sure. Maybe you're there in your journey with Jesus, or where you are in your relationship with Jesus. Like, I'm not sure. Everything feels unstable. Or are you just a stranger looking at the painting like all of us? Maybe without knowing if it's for you, or you're not ready to receive it. There's a part of you that's looking the other way. This is what I want us to see in this work of art. Jesus comes to you and me, not with rules to follow. He comes to us with the offer of a relationship. After Thomas had this moment with Jesus, he says, my Lord and my God, basically he's saying that you are the way, the truth, and the life, I receive it. That's what Jesus is looking for in us. Let's say, my Lord and my God, Jesus, I trust you with my life.

I've been putting the weight of my life on things that will eventually break. I want to put my life in your hands. If you want to respond to that invitation, I want to give you the opportunity to do something physical to represent a spiritual response. Maybe it's the first time. Maybe you've noticed while we were talking. I understand how the path of Jesus is different. I understand why he is the only way. And I want to receive him today like this. Maybe it's your first time receiving him. Or maybe you're already a Christian and you think, wow, I've been clinging to this with force. I've gone to other places and not to Jesus. I want to go back, repent and say, Jesus, I want to trust you. I'll give you a physical way to do it. Make a fist with your dominant hand. When you put your fist in your heart, it's just a symbol of what's inside of us. We clasp our hands when our hearts are in pain. I don't know what this means to you, but this represents the fist. Maybe today you want to release it. If you do, I invite you to open your hand as a sign of freedom. Put your hand on your heart and say, Jesus, I don't want anything between us. You are the way, the truth, and the life. With your eyes closed. If your hand is open to receive,

you're the life. I believe you are.
