Knowledge of the Holy One

TAKEAWAY HIGHLIGHT

To truly worship Him in spirit and truth we must gain knowledge and

understanding of Him. God has revealed certain truths about Himself to

us which we can begin to understand by reading His Word. In addition,

we know Jesus is the Living Word, and we see His example for us. We also

learn about God through His Holy Spirit who resides in us teaching us

about His qualities and attributes.

God knows we cannot truly understand the Infinite with our comparatively

feeble, finite brains. We can only begin to fathom some of His qualities and

attributes through Spirit-inspired Word into our hearts. In this body on

earth, we will never know or fully understand everything about Him. But

as we seek Him diligently daily, He gradually reveals Himself to us. It is out

of a deep knowing in our hearts, not the thoughts of our mind, that we are

able to begin to truly worship Him in spirit and in truth.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Choose one or two of God’s attributes as summarized above to meditate

upon each day. Include it as a matter of prayer and worship in your

quiet time with God. Be intentional about getting to know Him better.
