We want to get to know you. We want to know how we can better serve you. So in the back of the seat right in front of you, there are these connect cards. If you wouldn't mind filling one filling one of those out and dropping it off in the Connect Hub, which is a fancy way of saying that glass room in the lobby. We would love to have a conversation with you. Also I want to welcome our correctional facilities, our brothers and sisters in Christ. You all are such a blessing and we're so glad that you choose to join us every Sunday morning as well as our online community. I do want to apologize for the construction. You all are doing exceptionally well adjusting, right? We do that well and you guys are exceptional and extending grace to each other. Amen. Amen.
All right. So really quick, if you happen to make the best decision of your life, we would love to celebrate with you. So if you wouldn't mind stopping again in the Connect Hub, we have some folks there that would love to celebrate with you. We have a gift for you as well as we'd like to talk about what's next. So really quick, I went to a wedding yesterday. How many of you all like to people watch? Not in a creepy way, but in a, oh, I like watching how people interact, families and children. You know what I really like is to watch how parents deal with their children in public places, right? So anyways, I'm at a wedding and I'm people watching and this lady approaches me, this lovely lady. And I would normally say this older lady, but then I realized we're about the same age. So this lovely lady approaches me and she's got tears in her eyes. She's like, do you come from a big family? I said, no, ma'am, I'm an only child. She said, look, look at this room. It's because of my life. I'm a part of what's happening in this room. And what she was looking at was four generations celebrating a wedding, celebrating life, celebrating community and honoring the Lord. And she had a part in that. Now, one thing she did clarify was that she said, well, really, it's because of my daughter, because her daughter's sold out. Her daughter's a part of our community here. She goes, but I gave birth to her. So I'm part of that, right?
I said, absolutely. And it was ironic because we started a new series today on legacy, that I got to look at her and say, you know. This is a part of your legacy because of your obedience and your sacrifice. This is the fruit of it men So how many of y'all use a word and you think you know what it means and you go around using it and then you realize Oh, oh, I really didn't know what that meant Well legacy is one of those words for me. So I looked it up Because I thought it was about what we leave behind But here's the real definition of legacy It says legacy is the lasting impact of your choices your actions and investments what continues to grow Influence and bless others long after your moment of contribution has passed So think about it. It's not just what we leave behind But it's the fruit of what continues to bear while we're long gone y'all Have you ever thought about your legacy? What are you gonna leave behind and I thought about us here at Revolution Church And I thought about how does that apply to us and and to me? It's what we give in our offerings as well as in our time of service So I think about those because of what you give we're able to stream into 640 prisons y'all I don't know if y'all have heard but we have already had over 2 million views since July y'all That's because of your giving here And you think about all the children that are in Children's Church, and I know pastor Marquardt We would be the first to tell you it's not child care. I Asked the Lord. So what do we do with those kids Lord? You know what we do what you do because of your giving We give those children a safe place to fall in love with Jesus. Amen Amen, and because of your acts of service Do you know that we serve a hot meal to our community every month? And that's because you all are willing to sacrifice Your time and your talents and the truth is we need you all and you were brought here not by accident But by purpose and so will you partner with us in your giving and in your talents sharing them with us in our community?
I know for recovery. My greatest goal is to see Blount County recover. Will you partner with us in that? So listen There are different ways you can give and there's some fancy ways you can give y'all on the backside of your chairs There's something called a tap tag and for you high-tech folks All you got to do is open up your phone and put it up against that tag and it will send you to a link And today we start that new series called legacy. And so the drop-down there's actually in the drop-down There's a title called legacy as well as you can go to our Church Center app. You can go to our website Or you can be old-school like me and drop it in the bucket y'all And so today we are going to do something a little different as part of our legacy series We're gonna have some folks that are actually going to come around and serve you and so I would encourage you get ready It's coming. Are you ready to do the greater things that God has called us to do together? Amen Alright, let's pray y'all Lord, I just thank you for this community. I thank you for this church. I thank you for our leadership I thank you for our pastor. I thank you for the word that he's going to deliver today Father God that all of us would be transformed that we would be renewed Lord And we just thank you for the greater things that you still have yet for us to do father God So we just pray all these things in Jesus name and the church said amen You Good morning, I'm Amanda and welcome to revolution if this is your first Sunday with us. Come on, can I hear a big amen? A better amen, come on. Let's hear a big amen if you're glad to be here. It's good to see all of you. Well, welcome to Revolution Church. Help me welcome the 411 campus. They just joined us live right now. Come on, let's give it up. 411, Pastor Tim, Jenny, you guys are doing an amazing job down there. I love you all and I just happened to look across the congregation. I saw Pastor David Cooper and his wife here. Let's give it up for those guys. They're the ones that gave 411 campus to Revolution and what a blessing they are. We love everyone so much and appreciate you being with us. So we're starting a two-week series today and that's going to be leading up to our Christmas candlelight services that will be happening here soon. We're excited about it, but the series is called Legacy and so how many of you realize that Jesus left a legacy? Amen? Look over to your neighbor and say, Jesus left a legacy. Come on. And so Jesus left a legacy of communion and he instructed his disciples, he said, I want you to do this in remembrance of me. So what we're going to be doing right now is taking communion at this point in the service. If everyone would go ahead and get your elements, get your bread and juice. If you've not picked one up at the door, we have ushers that are here to serve you. Hold up your hand real quick and we'll have people to come around and serve. We got a few hands here. We'll serve you here in just one second and we'll all get ready to take communion together. I do want to recognize Pastor Mark Well did an incredible job preaching on the table of covenant and come on, let's give it up for Pastor Mark Well. A great job and and teaching us the importance of
communion and the new covenant and the table of covenant. That was a incredible message. I loved it a lot. So anyway, as we prepare to serve communion and take communion, I want you to know that the bread symbolizes Jesus' broken body and the healing that's available and the wholeness that's available as a result of that. Also the juice, it represents, it's symbolic of the blood of Jesus which was shed for the forgiveness of our of our sins. And so I want to read a passage in Matthew. A lot of times I'll read 1st Corinthians 11, but I want to read Matthew 26, 26 through 28 today as we prepare to take communion. Is there everyone been served? Anyone else need served? Okay, everybody's everybody's good. All right, thank you. Let's give it up for the ushers. They do an amazing job every week. Not just seeing us, but serving us and thank you all. Matthew 26, 26 through 28. Now as they were eating, Jesus took the bread after blessing it. He broke it, gave it to his disciples and said, take, eat, this is my body. Let's take the bread. And he took a cup and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them saying, drink a bit, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Let's take the juice. Let's all pray. Father, today we just want to thank you for this moment, God, where we can observe and remember the great sacrifice that you made for each one of us. God, thank you for the stripes that you took on your back for our healing. And today, God, I pray if there's there's anyone in this building or anyone watching who has any disease or sickness, any issue going on in their body, Father, that they would experience the healing power of Jesus right now flowing through their body. Lord, we also want to thank you for the blood that you shed. The only access, the only way to achieve access to the Father was through your blood. And so today, God, we're so thankful that you shed your blood for the remissions of sin, that you forgave us and that you've given us an eternal home in heaven. We love you so much. With gratitude, we say thank you. In Jesus' name and everyone said, amen, amen, amen. Praise the Lord. Amen? Amen. Love communion. We're gonna start taking communion
our weekend services at the beginning of every sermon series and so we're excited about that. But anyway let's let's jump into the message today. Again the series is legacy and the message title today is invest in what last. Invest in what last. Question. Have you ever made a good investment? Think about it for a second. Think about an investment that you made that that was good. Or should I ask have you ever made a poor investment? Okay I've got a lot of stories on the second question. As a matter of fact I want to share one of those stories with you. I shared it a few years ago at the high school so you guys that were back at the school you'll probably remember it. It was 1994 but that's been a long time ago hasn't it? Just seems like yesterday. 1994 Connie and I were married. Hadn't been married very long. We're just we're making ends meet. I'm working two jobs. We're enjoying life and living on love. Amen? You remember those days? And so so anyway I'm driving down Alcoa Highway. It's 1994. I'm driving from Knoxville toward Maryville and I pass a dealership up on the right of a car dealership. It's called Rice Chrysler Dodge. Anybody know where that's at? Okay I'm driving and I'm passing this dealership and out of my peripheral. You ever notice how sometimes you see things out of your peripheral that you probably shouldn't see? Well I saw a red 1994 Dodge 2500 four-wheel drive turbo. Come on somebody. Turbo diesel truck. And here's a here's the thing about it. I got excited. I saw it now it's like the reason I was excited is because I had been anticipating this truck coming out. They talked about it for a long time. It's a new body style. First year of this body style. And they'd went from a square body to this and and I was excited about that but I was also excited about that engine. Man I mean you talking about some torque. That diesel had torque and I'd read all about it. Well finally it comes out. I see it. I drive by. I turn around. Okay okay. I turn around. I wanted to take a closer look. Knowing I couldn't afford it. Knowing I didn't need it. I wanted to take a closer look so I did. Pulled up there on the hill. I get out of my little banger and step out and I'm I'm walking around this truck. I mean I felt good just walking around it. Okay I felt man chest popped out. I'm feeling good.
And and anyway it's nice. It's very nice. Everything was awesome until I I got around to the passenger side door and I looked up there on the window and you know what's on the window at the yeah it's it's the sticker price and I looked at that sticker price and I had to take a second look. This is 1994. I looked at that and it's like wow it's time for me to leave. Okay $26,000. I know some of you are saying well that's not much. In 1994 that was a fortune. Are you guys with me? Especially when you're working two jobs and you're living in a house that cost half the amount of that sticker price. It's a lot. So here's what I did. I got in my vehicle. I enjoyed looking at it. Got in my vehicle and I drove toward Townsend. I get home and I'm talking I'm talking to Connie. I said Connie that that new Dodge truck came out and and she's asking me about it. It's like it's awesome and and she said well let's go by and look at it. So anyway second mistake. I decided to go look at the truck. Now not only did I take my wife with me which she's a salesperson in herself. The big mistake was I took my little brother with me. You guys know Steve Hefferly right? He was born a salesman. As a matter of fact when this is this is an extra the second service only gets. When he was in middle school or grade school he traded our house key for a hamburger. Do you remember that? So he's a natural salesman. So we we load up. We go we go to Ross Chrysler. We get up there and the reason one of the reasons I want Steve to go is he's a manager for Neil Sandler Ford. The Ford dealership down the road and I'm thinking okay maybe he can help me out. Give me a better deal. Walk me through this. Never bought a new vehicle. So we go up there and we check it out and it's awesome. Again it's very nice. Matter of fact this time I asked for the key. Okay I get the key. I take it for a test ride down Alcor Highway and it is awesome dude. I'm telling you man it's like I feel like I'm on top of the world. I bring it back. I'm still I'm still thinking about it. I bring it back to the dealership I get out I walk back around to the passenger side and I look at that sticker price again And they're not negotiating this truck just came out. It's the hottest thing out there And and so they're not coming off the price. I come out and it's like I look at that price
It's like there is no way I'm not gonna be truck poor. Okay, I'm not gonna do this and so I gave him the keys back Steve and Connie, they're both like we like it. It's nice So gave him the key back got in our car We left we go down the road to Shoney's anybody know where Shoney's is that on Alcoa Highway? It's still the same Shoney's it was there in 94. We stopped we go in We're eating lunch and while we're sitting there Steve gets in that selling mode and it's like you know what man you should buy that truck You work hard you work two jobs you do this and Connie's like yes pacer you should buy you deserve that and so Here's Steve working for the Ford dealership selling a Dodge vehicle and I bid on it. I said, okay, let's go We finish eating go back to the Dodge dealership go in sign the dotted line. Oh That hurts, you know sign the dotted line to give me two sets of keys now I get in that truck and I drive back down Alcoa How I heading toward the house and I'm gonna tell you something guys listen. I like cars. I like trucks I like that stuff. I felt like again. I felt like I was a king man I am driving the nicest truck in Blount County the new body style Dodge 2500 listen to me 12 valve turbo diesel 5.9 liter Clang clang clang for all you diesel guys and ladies Loved it and man and week one man. The smell of that new car is awesome I'm fired up man. I remember week two. I drive it. Oh hi I'm deer hunting with a buddy of mine is so awesome running up the interstate in this big truck and It's incredible and when you hear that turbo kick in come on. It just does something to you It's like push it down push it down and and so so anyway week three goes by and then I noticed something happened And I didn't know if it was an issue with my smelling with my senses, but the new car smell started fading. I wasn't smelling it like I did when I first got it and Then week four week five came in it's time To write that big check the payment and I did and you want to guess how much my monthly payment was in 1994 it was over
$400 that was a ton back then. It's a ton right now, but it was a lot I wrote that check and I was sick to my stomach. It's like What did Steve get me into I? Knew I shouldn't have took you I knew so so here's what I do Now now I've got buyers remorse. I'm done. I realize I have made a bad investment Okay, and so first person I called anybody want to guess Say Steve real loud This sermon is about Steve so so So I called Steve and I said Steve You know your car guy. You know everybody in the industry. Do you know anybody that would want a red? 2500 turbo diesel He said I don't know let me check and he made some phone calls he called me back And he said yeah, I found a dealership up in La Follette. They said they would take it. Okay. What are they gonna give you? $22,000 a Month later. It's only got 2,000 miles or less on it But you know what I said, I'm gonna bite the bullet. I'm going up there I'm gonna get this off my back and and so Connie followed me up up 75 in that clang clang clang It didn't sound as good. It didn't smell as good all I wanted to do is get out that truck And and give Steve a piece of my mind so so I get up there and What you got to realize is within just a little over a month. I lost over $4,000 You know not Counting the tax I paid on it. You don't get that back. You know that just don't come back So here I am I realized man. I should have listened to Dave Ramsey financial peace He said wait until a cars three years old and has already depreciated and then buy so I said I'm gonna learn a lesson from this I'll never buy a new car and I've never bought a new one since amen come on Can we learn lessons from bad mistakes poor investments? So what do you make good or poor investments? There's always a lesson to be learned what I want to do right now is I want to look at Matthew chapter 6 and see What Jesus had to say about investments?
Matthew 6 19 through 21 He said don't store up treasures here on earth where moths eat them and rust destroys them and where thieves break in and steal but instead verse 20 Store your treasures in heaven where moss and rust cannot destroy And thieves do not break in and steal and he goes on powerful words wherever your treasure is There the desires of your heart will also Be I have three points today that I want to touch on in this week one of legacy point Number one is invest in things that are eternal. Can I hear an amen? Invest in things that are eternal. Jesus taught this now the first thing that I want to be clear on is jesus Wasn't against investing Is everybody with me? Jesus as a matter of fact, he was a proponent of wise investing We see that in matthew chapter 25. He talked about the talents He talked about the the money that was given three servants And he said these the money that was given to these three servants two of them were wise and they invested it And he praised them in the parable But the third one buried his talent did not invest it and as a result, we know he was scolded He was reprimanded And and and so right here we see that god's not against Investing and so as a matter of fact, we see in scripture that jesus praised prudence And planning prudence and planning he praised them. We see it. We see that in john chapter 6 verse 12 It said when they had all had enough to eat He said to his disciples Gather the pieces that are left over help me with these last four words Let nothing be wasted he was very clear So right here we see prudence and we and now look at luke chapter 14 verse 28 He said suppose one of you wants to build a tower or a house Or a business or whatever. It may be you can just fill in the blank right there
Won't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? So here we see planning emphasized So I want to look at how we can invest in eternal things you may ask that yourself that question well, tell us how can we do that and a invest in People can I hear an amen to that? Invest in others invest in people. How do you invest in in people by sharing the gospel? When you share the gospel with someone you are investing in their eternity. Amen Tell them about jesus share share the gospel another way is to mentor I would encourage every single one of you to have someone that you are mentoring Or a fancy church word that we use discipling Who are you mentoring? Who are you investing in? Because again, this is leaving a legacy that miss cat talked about It's bearing fruit that comes after you're gone Another way that we invest in people is just through loving them simply loving others that's investing in them and also Serving other people. How can I serve others? That's that's the way that I invest in people as we were saying earlier about feeding hot meals to the community We are investing making eternal investment, uh in in people by serving their needs b invest in your own spiritual growth Listen closely to this look at it. Are you investing in your own life? Are you investing in your own spiritual growth? You may say well, how do I do that? Study the word of god and do it daily as you do that. You're making a personal investment in your spiritual growth What are other ways prayer? Are are we praying praying on a regular basis when you pray you're investing in your spiritual growth and and as a matter of fact Starting the first of the year We're going to have 21 days of prayer and fasting and we've already got to schedule together and we do that every year And we just feel like here at revolution church that it sets the precedence for the entire year And I don't know about you i'm thankful for 2025, but i'm excited about 2026 I believe god's getting ready to do some incredible things But but anyway another way that we invest in our own spiritual growth
Is through worship when we come and we gather together just like we're doing right here. You are investing in your spiritual growth When we come in and we hear the word of god, we lift our hands to the music and we worship together we fellowship again This is investing into your own spiritual growth. And then like I said earlier just spiritual disciplines in general fasting All of these things are investments in your own spiritual growth so see invest in god's kingdom work These are other ways to invest in eternal things in god's kingdom work How do I do that serve the body of christ, you know, if if you're a regular you come here on a regular basis and and you're not involved in serving, get involved. Because when you serve the body, you're investing in kingdom things. It's in things that are eternal. And so, serve the body of Christ, whether it's teaching a class, maybe it's greeting, working in the parking lot, whatever. And you may be here and you say, well, I've been here for a while, but I'm not really involved. How do I get involved? What would be my next step? Well, come to the Connect Luncheon, and I'll tell you about it. And we'll be doing that in January. So just put it on the list. When you hear the Connect Luncheon, it's not all about me going in there and telling you all these fancy things about Revolution Church. It's really about a way to connect with you to get you involved.
Serving the body is very important. Another way is become a tither. Statistics say that only about 20% of the church tithe. And so, what if you become a tither and started tithing? This is investing in God's kingdom work. The word says in Malachi, God said this, he said, bring all the tithe, the whole tenth, into the storehouse of God so that there may be meat in my house. So we know that God said that in Malachi, and the Hebrew word for tithe is maser, and it actually means a tenth, and it's found 32 times in God's word. Now, I want you to listen to this because I've heard it many times. I've heard people make the statement, well, tithing is of the Old Testament. Tithing is under the law, and now we're under the new covenant, so we shouldn't tithe. I'm gonna say that that is not exactly accurate. Let me explain why. Because the tithe existed before the law. Did you know that? The tithe wasn't enacted when the law was given. No, it was enacted in Genesis chapter 14 by Abraham when he tithed the Melchizedek. Pastor Mark Well talked about that, a type of Christ, did an incredible, and so this is where the tithe started.
It predated the law. It existed before the law. As a matter of fact, we see it in Genesis 28. Jacob was a tither. Now, I don't know about you, but when I do the studies, I think Abraham was pretty blessed. What about you? Was he blessed? Absolutely. Was Jacob blessed? I'm gonna say that every tither is blessed. Now, some people are looking for a way not to tithe, and if you ask me today, well, can you go to heaven and not tithe? I'm sure you can, but I don't know about you, but if God has established a principle that predates the law, I wanna follow it, especially if it works, and so tithing works, and tithing, listen to me, tithing is not really giving to God. Did you know that? I want you to hear me closely. We talk about the tithe. It's not you giving to God. No, what you're doing when you tithe is you're returning a 10th, the first 10th of what he gave you. It didn't even belong to me. It wasn't even mine.
It was his all along, but he wanted to see if he could trust me and return that first 10th. Now, listen, here's another thing. It's not the last 10th. How many of you realize that God deserves our best? And it's not like if I pay my bills and I pay this truck payment, and I have a little left over, then I'm gonna give it, and that'll be my tithe. No, here's what it is. It's giving the first part the best, trusting God with the rest. Can I hear an amen to that? Come on, let's praise the Lord. If you believe that's an accurate principle in God's word. So it's returning to the Lord. Now, on another hand, when we give offerings, that's above your tithe, that's above your 10th. When we give offerings, we are sowing seeds of generosity. And when you sow a seed of generosity, God will bless that. As a matter of fact, the Bible talks a lot about how he blesses those seeds that's sown. And so, you know, that's what my prayer is, especially during this legacy time, that God would touch your heart and allow you to pray about, God, what would you want me to sow? What kind of offering should I give, especially to expand the work of the Lord?
Now, all of these are eternal investments. Let's go to point two. Point two is God blesses those who contribute to his work. I've often heard people say this. If you take care of God's business, he will take care of your business. Can I hear an amen to that? You take care of his business. I want to share a story with you that's recorded in Haggai. Haggai chapter one and chapter two. Israel had been destroyed. The nation Israel had been wiped out. They'd been destroyed by Babylon. And the reason for this was that they had fallen into idolatry and they had started breaking God's law. Commands that he had clearly gave them so they had broken the commands had fallen into idolatry He allowed Babylon to come in and wipe them out and destroy the temple Solomon's temple Destroy it all took him captive for 70 years They were in Babylon It's when we read about Shadrach Meshach and and and Abednego and people like Daniel this was during that 70 year time when they were in captivity, but God heard their prayers and And brought him back to their nation Israel now listen to what happened he brought him back and when they came back they started rebuilding their homes and And the economy was good during this time Everybody's working on their home Everybody's trying to get reestablished back in their hometown and then God sends a message through the prophet Hey guy, I know what you listen to what he said. It's found. It's it's found there and hey guy one Says then the Lord sent this message through the prophet. Hey guy
Why are you living in luxurious homes while my house lies in ruins? That's strong, isn't it? This is what the Lord of Heaven's army says Look at what's happening to you You've planted much, but harvest little You eat, but are not satisfied You drink, but are still thirsty You put on clothes, but cannot keep warm Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes God wasn't pleased with Israel even after he had brought him back to their hometown Why was he not pleased with him because they were not prioritizing the house of the Lord you guys with me they were Nick they were building their homes and Their homes were beautiful and they had paddling and and it was awesome and the economy was good But they had forgot about God's house So God wasn't pleased and he was showing them and he showed him through the prophet. Hey guy right here So as a result of their actions God hadn't blessed them. But now here's what he said. He said Israel I want you to listen to me Here's your instructions. I want you to go up into the mountains Still those mountains. I want you to go up in the mountains and I want you to bring timber I want you to bring logs and I want you to bring them down into the city and I want you to rebuild the house of God Clear instruction. This is it. I want you to pause on Your agenda and I want you to focus on mine Go to the mountains bring down the timber. Let's build the house of the Lord So listen to what? Hey guy 114 says so the Lord sparked the enthusiasm of the ruble ball The ruble ball got excited about this There was a spark of enthusiasm and and so it said they began to work on the house of their God the Lord of Heaven's army See, I want you to notice something when God's sparks enthusiasm the work begins
So when we look out here even at our church and our house This is our house and we see the work beginning. We see what God's doing. We understand that God has sparked some enthusiasm Amen, God's moving in the house today. And so so thankful for it for 18 years Pastored this church and I remember when we did not own one single thing. I Remember when when everything that we had had been given to us speakers cords mics Renting the high school for five and a half years and God said here's what I want you to do before you start building your house build Churches for ten other congregations and then you can start and many of you guys that were here during that time You remember that man that weren't that was not the words. I wanted to hear I'm going to move into a new building I want to get out. I'm tired of the cracking and popping of speakers I'm tired of you know, it's just the school at times. It was nasty, you know And and I remember, you know going into the band room and it stunk in there. Anybody remember the band room? It's like whoo. This was our connect class Okay, yeah, but but you know what God we're gonna learn what you want us to learn we're gonna do what you and we're gonna Be obedient and so five and a half years. We stayed in that school and we did what God said Build churches for other congregations and we were doing it in places like Panama and really honestly It was just it was small churches. It was pole barns. It wasn't much but to those people It was a lot when you're meeting under under a tree and now you have a building to call your home your own It was huge and and so that was some of the seeds that were sown and so but after 18 years I want you to know how excited we got when God gave us this land here It was five it was two and a half acres Then it was five acres and then it became ten more and then it became ten more and then it became 40 acres and God Continued to bless and it started out as one building and then the nursery Mark Well pastor Mark well grew the Children's Church so much that he forced us to spend $600,000 on this back wing. And as you guys know, I still got a little thing there, but he did, and I'm glad we did that. Okay, and then we were needing more, we needed a pavilion, we had no place to gather, and God allowed us to build a pavilion.
And then we got these bungalow houses behind. They started out, somebody said, are we starting a trailer park behind the church? And I said, no, this is our bungalow apartments, whatever, classroom. And so the Lord blessed us, amen? And he's continually, and now we're building onto the front, and it's gonna be incredible. But here's something the Lord told me. He said, as long as you're the pastor at Revolution Church, you're gonna be in a building program, amen? You're gonna be in a building program. So don't get complacent. Don't ever think that you've arrived, because you haven't, and whenever you think you don't need to ask for money anymore, forget it, because you're gonna have to. You're gonna need it. And so, but God has continued to bless us, has he not? Can we praise the Lord for the blessings that we've seen so far? But again, it just takes one spark, with Zerubbabel. A few years ago, God sparked some enthusiasm in a family in this church. I would say an average family that attends this church. And I don't remember the sermon series, but God sparked enthusiasm, and the couple, the husband and wife, were at home, at their house, and God spoke to the husband and said that you guys need to write a check to the church
to expand the ministry of Revolution Church. You need to write a check. And he said, you need to write a check for an amount that's bigger than you can cash. Okay, have you ever wrote a check that was bigger than you could cash, and you tried to cash it? You know what happens, right? Yep, yep, yep, everybody's familiar with that. And so, but this was the word. So the husband and the wife, they talked, they prayed, and they were trying to come up with an amount, and God spoke to the husband and said, $100,000. And his wife is like, what? Yep, he said, that's what the Lord said. He said, write it. And they did. They wrote that check, Revolution Church, and they placed it on the refrigerator. And every person, every day, they walked past that refrigerator and they saw that check. And you know the enemy said, there's no way. What were you thinking? That's crazy. Every person that walked into their house, they saw that check because you walked through their kitchen going into their living room. And so, life groups, year after year after year, different life groups coming into their house, walking past the refrigerator and looking at that check.
How many times do you think people doubted that? Probably, how many times do you think that they doubted? Probably a lot. But I want to tell you what happened. 2025, this year, I received a phone call. And the phone call was from this family, and they said, were you guys, you and Connie be home today? And I said, sure, we will. And they said, we'd like to come over and see you. And this family came over to the house, and they pulled out a check that had been written for seven years. And they said, God has now allowed us to cash it. So it entered the kingdom of God. We want to see souls saved. We want to see the kingdom of God expand. We want to see the work of God continue on. Glory to God. I want you, you see, I want you to understand something. It's not the amount that really matters. It's the heart, and it's hearing God, and it's being obedient to what the Lord says to do. Because he spoke to them what seemed to be impossible, but they trusted God, and they wrote the check. And in year seven, you guys know what seven stands for? What is it? Completion, the number of completion. I shared that story this morning. The family didn't know I was gonna share it. He came to me, and he said,
I didn't even realize that, I didn't even think about it being seven, seven years. I said, yeah, that's the way God works, amen? And so the year of completion, they were able to write the check. So I said that, and I will say it again. It only takes a spark to start a fire. Let that resonate. It only takes a spark to start a fire. Now I said this in the early service. I said, there's probably going to be people that walk out of this service today because I'm talking about money. People get nervous. Why do we get nervous? Because it's our livelihood, because we need it to live, to pay our bills. All of those things. But I want you to understand something. Do you realize that Jesus talked more about money than he did heaven and hell together? Why did he do that? He did because he understood that that is where people's hearts at. And if I can ever, glory to God, if I can ever capture their heart, I can use them in ways they could never dream. But I need their heart. I've got to have their heart. That's what he's looking for. And when we release our heart to him, now God can work. And our treasures, listen to me, Bible says where your heart's at, there your treasure will be also. And so Jesus spoke that and he made it very clear. So here we are at the end of 2025.
God's done some extraordinary things. Next weekend we're going to be showing you a video of some things that's happened in 2025. It's incredible. He's done some amazing things. I'm already looking at 2026. I feel like God's getting ready to do something. But before we leave 2025, what would God allow you to do to expand the kingdom of God? We're going to give you, in just a few minutes, an opportunity to sow a legacy offering. Connie and I, we prayed about it last night and we said, Lord, what is it that we can do? I'm not talking about our tithe. What can we sow in the kingdom of God to expand the kingdom? And I'll be, can I be transparent and real with you? Can I? You guys okay with it? Connie said, you know, Pacer, we don't have a whole lot. We do. We're wealthy people and don't even realize it. But she just said, you know, just right now is probably not the best time. Did you say that? So I'm being real with you. I get it. I understand when things aren't super great, but I'm going to tell you something. The time to sow the seed is during the famine. Because God will bring the increase, come on somebody, in the year of famine when you sow it by faith. So we come in an agreement. We came in an agreement on what we felt like God was going to call us to give and we titled it Legacy.
She said, okay, we're going to give half of it this Sunday and we'll give the other half next Sunday. We're going to split it up in two weeks, but we're also going to name that seed. Are you guys with me? I'm not talking about making deals with God because we don't do that. We can't and I'm not encouraging it, but I'm going to tell you something. When we have a need, we are going to name that seed. We're going to put a name attached to that because we have some things that we want to see God do in our life. Are you guys with me? Anybody with me today? So when we write out Legacy, along with that, we know there's a seed attached to it and God, we believe, is going to work a miracle based on that seed. Can I hear an amen if you guys believe that? Come on, praise the Lord. So here's what, here's what, I'm going to ask the Esther's to come and while they're getting ready, I'm going to give you time, if you'd like to write a check, fill out an envelope, write Legacy on it. If you have a phone you want to give, you can use the touch tag. If you touch, if you, if you use your phone on the back of that tap tag behind the seed, it'll take you directly to the drop-down Legacy and you can just put in Legacy. Again, I want you to hear me, it's not the amount, it's not the amount that matters, it's the heart, it's the obedience and I want you to pray that God would show you what you can do to give. I personally am asking the Lord to allow me to give something that's sacrificial. Let's bow our heads and pray. Father, thank you so much. God for the house of the Lord, for the work of God, for the ministry of the Lord Jesus. God, you gave us specific instructions to preach the gospel, make disciples and serve our community.
And today, God, this end of year offering, we're going to give people an opportunity, God to give, to sow a Legacy offering. Something Lord that is sacrificial, something that means something. I ask you to bless this, God. Take it and use it in a. powerful way. Bless our church. Let the favor of God rest upon us. In Jesus' name I pray, amen. Amen. After the offering I'm going to go into point three and we're going to finish up with the Last point. Point number three. Here's what the Holy Spirit spoke to me just last week, specific to you, to this body, to this church, to this hour, this time. Here's what he said. If it resonates, I want you to stand to your feet. Here's what he said. The glory of God is going to fill this house as we have never witnessed. The glory of God is going to fill this house as we have never witnessed. Listen to this Bible verse. Listen to this verse. It's a prophecy that God gave Haggai. It's chapter two, verse nine. After they went to the hills, after they brought the timber, after they did the work, after they had invested in the house of God, listen to what God said. It's exciting. Are you ready for it? Are you ready? Say bring it if you're ready for it.
Haggai 2, 9. He said the glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house. Says the Lord Almighty. In this place I will grant peace, says the Lord. Now I don't know if you get that, but he said the glory in this present house. This is our house. This is where we're at. He says it's going to be far greater. Now to understand this, we need to know what happened in the former house. The former house was the temple of Solomon. It may have been the greatest building ever built on planet earth. It was magnificent. But as they were dedicating this former temple to the Lord, they put their sacrifices on the altar and the Bible said that literally the people saw fire from God fall from heaven and consume their offering because God was pleased with it. Can I hear an amen? Today our offerings, today our gifts, I believe God's saying I'm pleased with it and I'm going to send a fire of God on your life. Listen to me. The Bible says also in Solomon's temple that the glory filled the temple in such a way that the priest couldn't even operate. They couldn't function. They couldn't go about their duties because the glory of God was so thick in that place. Here's what God said. He said I'm getting ready to do something at Revolution Church that people are going to see with their own eyes. They're going to witness and know it was God, that God is showing up in the house. Come on somebody. Give Him praise if you believe that. Listen, we're going to worship with this song.
We're going to praise the Lord from the bottom of our heart and ask the glory of God just to fall on each individual, amen? Are you ready for a move of God? Are you ready to see God move like you've never seen Him move? Are you ready for something fresh, an anointing of God risen? Let's praise Him like we've never praised Him. Let's go worship today.
