In today's episode, we're going to be talking about why you have intrusive thoughts, even when your brain doesn't agree with them. The difference between having a thought and believing a thought and towards the end, we're going to actually be teaching you how to overcome and stop intrusive thoughts from the root. Welcome to another episode on the UNLEARNED WISDOM podcast with yours truly, Jonny Chang. No, no, no, Pastor Jonny Chang. Sorry, sorry. With Pastor Jonny Chang, where each episode is a gospel centered lesson that you could apply to your life today. Wow. Hey guys, have you noticed Jonny's memory is sharp? It's sharp. He's hitting those one shot intros. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's true. Hey, I've been doing the technique and it's working. The one we talked about last week. Recall, recall. Yeah, I don't recall. What technique? Yeah, that's it. You haven't been doing it. You're going to get left. Is it really working? Yes, it's working. I remember, I remember what Pastor's sermon was on Sunday. I remember what I read about in Psalms loosely. I read like Psalms.
I don't remember the verses, but I remember what I read. Yeah, it's good. Also, when I'm just like driving in the car and I'll be like, oh, what do we talk about? And that like the UTA thing, I just was like, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop. I remember everything they said in the meeting. Look at that, bro. And you've only been doing that for what, like a couple of a few days? Yeah. Sheesh. And there's like this big basically it's like the what's happening right now is our attention spans are getting completely wiped, as we've said before. And it's because of instant gratification. We've lost the idea of delayed gratification, allowing your mind to get bored. You know, it's like the minute that you have no, what's it called? Stimulation. You start to reach for something and your mind panics. Like we got to fight to reclaim our attention. That's going to make you a superhuman in this next era. Even when you're fighting, like like trying to recall and you like shoot blanks, for example, like it still is OK. That's actually making your brain like the neurotranslators fire. And you're just like, oh, what was it like? It's better than sitting there going, I'm not even going to try to use my brain. Like it's like I'm just you know what I mean? It's like trying to like train for a marathon. And yeah, you may give up like 40 percent of the way. It's better than just sitting back and going, I'm not going to do the marathon. I'm good. I'm going to just watch it on TV. Like it's different.
Right. You still get some kind of benefit from even trying to do it, which is really cool. So crazy. It's the same thing with like math and stuff. It's very use it or lose it. It's like I used to be able to pull off the craziest equations. And now I look at it and I have no idea. It's like a foreign language, because if you don't keep up with it, you just forget. Yeah. One hundred forty seven plus thirty three. Twelve. Wow, you're really good at this. Yeah, you're really good at this. That's smart. What do you mean, craziest math problems? What do you mean by that? It's just like anything you use it or lose it. You could do differential calculus, multivariable calculus, doing integral equations in your head. I know all about this. Oh, in general. In general, you write it down. You memorize calculus class. You know, calculus doesn't. But doesn't isn't that prove that math is just the most worthless subject? No, no, it's cramming for any test. So imagine right before a test, you cram the night before. Yeah, you might be able to pass the test, but then you forget everything a week later versus if you actually study all semester, you you will just know the answers of the test for any subject.
True. I just use math because that's what I remember. But it's that's the easiest one to tell. But it's very use it or lose it. Like, I bet you used to know all 50 states in order by alphabetical. Do you anymore? No, but I know all 50 states. It's like that with languages, too, though. Like, I remember I could speak Mandarin so fluently as a kid. And after that, I was like, I just I think I stopped speaking it like at the age of 12. So I went and got locked up and was like, no one's speaking ching chong in here. It's like, no. Hello. Hello. I'm here. Supplies. I feel like you get shy when you when when people try to speak Chinese, do you? I do, because I'm subconscious and self-conscious of that. I'm just like, dang, I don't sound fobby enough. So it's like when I speak English, I feel like I'm like, hello. But then when I speak Mandarin, I'm like, hey, everybody, how are you doing? Like, I just it's the opposite, right? Dude, yes. I suck. The other day we went to get we went to get and. So that was really funny. The other day we went to get and the servers are obviously Chinese. And like she was like explaining to us that, like, we couldn't get white rice. It would take 30 minutes. But there was fried rice. It was like a whole confusion thing. And we're like me, me, me and Esther sitting there like, wait, wait. So there is white rice or there's no fried rice. But how's their fried rice? But no white rice.
And Johnny's sitting there to wait. So wait, 30 minutes or three minutes. Then, dude, it's literally sitting there and she's like trying to explain. And then Johnny just switches to Mandarin and she understands it and answers him in five seconds. And I'm like, you had that the whole time. and you just decided to like not just to make this a problem for everybody hey it's good for your brain because of any patience he was just like johnny was like three minutes or 30 minutes three and then he's like sure sure sure sure sure he's like oh exactly like that i was like such a waste so rice hat appeared on his head so today's episode is about negative self-talk have you guys ever had negative self-talk before nah i'm so dumb i never i would have never thought of something like that what's yeah what's negative self-talk i just think i see myself as like six eight in my mind yeah this guy really has no negative self-talk like a real there's no such thing as failure it's just like ah just do you guys think like most of your thoughts are negative or positive honestly i think more negative dang what about you midday i think there was a pivotal shift in my life where it's infinitely high and then there's only some there's only so no there's nowhere you can go from the top yeah you thought that highly of yourself no i'm just saying like he did i mean yeah i mean yeah to an extent i mean hey that hey ladies and gentlemen that's called a white privilege i mean i guess like you can always think higher like i guess there's there's people who have thought higher of themselves and i think there was a point where i was like i can do no wrong everything will be fine i'm smart i can do whatever what about you 90% of the time is negative negative self-talk negative thoughts weird thoughts crazy thoughts all of that's negative i would say but yeah it's it's it's kind of wild how like our brain is programmed that way i feel like you know but then some viewers are probably like no i have perfect amazing thoughts so it's not for you okay all right you guys are lucky but i know so many people who like literally have the worst thoughts all the time they think like the worst case scenario all the time yes can i ask you like in your peak when you were just like a psychopath what were like the craziest wildest thoughts that you like not like suicidal whatever but like what are some like things that you're like people would come on give us like if i said that i would
be locked up they were bad bro give us like a synopsis i was always plotting i think my mind was master manipulator 24 7 just figuring out scenarios i would play things in my head and like really live them out like it was wild bro i would legit live out every single scenario and then you guys ever play basketball or sport and you become really good at it and you start to see certain things in slow-mo yeah like when you fight like yeah yeah things are in slow-mo for me right like i'll know when the punch is coming whatever it gets like that where i'm like kind of just like it's like a dave chappelle scene you know when when he's like did you see the episode where he's like everything's better in slow motion he's like walking through the club and it's like it was like it was like that but in my brain 24 7 but evil things can you give us one okay so so let's say like one time i i try to like hit a lick right i try to rob somebody and i was thinking of like all of these crazy things that were going to happen and this was like right before i went and i did what i did and like i would say 90 of that stuff happened according to my imagination like i was following through what i had already thought and planned in my head and it was just something like crazy though i i can't say but it was like it was bad essentially and it was just you know uh obviously criminal but you know it ended up with people just getting robbed basically but in a way that that like it was so unassuming to them like i came and i was like oh i need help but it wasn't obviously me needing help i just like cornered them basically and it was all i was a scumbag for that but basically like i took everything from from these people like come up crazy and i don't feel like i i don't know i feel like i had to but i also feel like i didn't have to now looking back in hindsight i think it was a part of me that was like you know oh there's like this power to it you know anybody who's a jack boy who's ever done it they understand what i'm saying like there's a power to like man give me that thing you know like that's mine that right there is pretty crazy so yeah it was more of like i think i was not just chasing the the high of getting the money but like feeling like in and control, you know, that was crazy. But you would wake up in the morning and the thoughts that come to your mind is, I'm gonna hurt somebody and here's exactly how I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna rob somebody,
here's exactly how I'm gonna do it. Prior to that, I was always having thoughts of I'm gonna die soon. So I would play scenarios of how I would die. Would I get shot to death? Will I crash from a plane? Will I walk out and get hit by, like I would just think crazy stuff like that all the time. I don't know why my mind would manufacture these things all the time. It was like 90% of the time I was thinking about stuff like this. I'll be sitting there and then I'll like, you know, be eating and I'll randomly have those thoughts too like, dang, what if this whole place just got sprayed right now? Like, you know, it's like, why would I just think, and I'll say it to my homies like, that's why they were like, bro, you're ill. Like they would call me that, like you're ill, like you're mental, you know? And I'm like, I mean, it's true. It's like, I don't know why I would just keep thinking the worst stuff. Some of you guys can probably, you know, when I talk on main stages and our discord stages, people are like, yo, I think like that too. And I think what it was, was my mind protecting myself. From what? From just, if you think the worst,
then your mind thinks like, oh, you're not gonna be surprised by anything. Like I think I was more scared and fearful of being surprised and not knowing how to be in control. So my mind would think the worst stuff so things wouldn't catch me off guard. And so I think that's why I'm so cold even till today. Like, I'll tell stories and people are just like, oh, no, don't say, and I'm like, really? It's like, dang, are you a girl or something? You know, it's like, I don't understand. That's what you would do. I know I've done that to some of your stories. I'm like, no, no, don't tell me. Yeah, you're like, no. You've told me some messed up stories. Yeah, but basically I just genuinely like would, I think it was just a, it was my mind trying to protect myself, which is kind of crazy now that I think about it, you know? But I would like beat myself up. Like, why do I have these thoughts? What the hell is wrong? Oh, yeah, I'm crazy. There's something wrong with me. For sure there's something wrong with me. When really I think my mind was just trying to protect itself. It was just trying to go,
hey, you've been through some worse things and you've been some really crazy stuff. So if you just think of the most absurd, craziest stuff, you're literally protecting yourself. So obviously it's experience and your environment that made your mind think like that. So would you even remember as a little kid? Even at five years old, I would think like crazy stuff. Like, oh, so in Mandarin, there's this thing called Laopozi. And what that is is basically like La Llorona. It's like the boogeyman, but Chinese version. And so I would literally sit in the hallway, or in Ramona Gardens, there's like a hallway. There's a part where like towards the backside, there's like a bridge in the PJs that goes across into the park. And I would always like be walking near that bridge. And I would always be like, oh, I'm gonna see Laopozi there. I'm gonna see like, and it would just give me chills. Like I would psych myself out. But then I would be like, if I did that, then it would just be like better that I at least saw it coming. You know what I mean? Then my mind would play tricks. Cause then I'd be like, I'll look over there and then I'll pan and it's like right in my face. I'm like, oh, don't look to the right.
Like I was just, it's like weird stuff. And I was five or six doing this type of stuff, right? So I don't know if it was just a hyperactive nervous system or whatever, but I genuinely would think like, why is my brain always having negative things? Why is it always trying to scare itself? Why is it always trying to predict the next step? It's just, I've always been like that. From when I could remember, I could remember stuff when I was three years old, four years old, and I was always living in constant fight or flight mode. Like all the time, all the time. It was crazy. Do you remember the first time you had, or do you remember positive thoughts? And like, let's say you experienced happiness or something like that. Dude, that's so crazy. There's only few occasions that I remember and they were always intertwined with negative things. Like for example, we would like jump into people's pools or like the community pool and we'd sneak in at nighttime. And obviously that was negative cause we're doing stuff that's like, you know, trespassing and whatever. But those were the funnest times. And so my thrills was like, always somewhat tied to negative things.
I genuinely can't remember a time where I had fun that wasn't negative. Whether it was stealing stuff, whether it was like selling Pokemon cards, but like literally scheming, like going to steal the Pokemon cards, getting a glue gun, using a little tweezer, putting gloves on, pulling out the stuff, pulling out the, what is it? The holographic card. And then resealing it and then selling it to kids for like a third of the price, half the price. And they're like, really? I'm like, yeah. And I'd lie to them like, oh yeah, my uncle. a liquor store and he just said he gave these to me you want them and kids would just and I'm young like seven hustling this type of stuff and I'm like what the hell is wrong with me and and I wouldn't feel bad I would go and I would eat and everything I gained was always from manipulation or negativity or you know stuff like that and I just didn't know how to be like a straight edge as a kid and I still don't understand till this day whether it's the environment because there's kids in my neighborhood that wasn't like that there's kids when I would steal and they would be like oh why are you doing then I'm like shut up shut up stupid right and I would like pay other kids that like hit licks for me I'll be like look if you steal this I'll give you this and then I'll go and I'll take all the mechanical pencils and sell them and make more than what I gave the kid and it's like it's always been like that even my own brother we're in the same household and I would steal from my dad and he'd be like no Johnny don't and I'd be like man forget this guy dude like he doesn't even care about us and he's like no that's dad we can't I'm like man you better not snitch on me like I was just bad bro what the hell is wrong with me guys my core of the heart daily app where you get free devotionals every single day is almost here guys and join the wait list right now link in the description so if you ever struggled with your spiritual walk with God

but some people literally take that as their identity they'll they'll do that and it's if you guys know the bible it starts the fall of man literally starts from a thought so in Genesis chapter 3 before even Satan came to the picture in Genesis 2 Adam and Eve were only listening to one thought which was God it was only his voice it wasn't until they came and the the snake which we call nakashim right the the the serpent he comes in which is Satan and he suggests something all he does is he just goes are you sure that's what God said like no truthfully if you eat this you will become like God knowing good and evil again another foreign voice voice came in and that's when they fell right and so it's the same tactic today you guys have to just be cautious right where is your your thoughts coming from is your thoughts you know just randomly popping up does that mean that it's from God or from Satan you do have to think about these things something you said right there but you're like, not everything is the devil, right? So how do you know if your negative thoughts are spiritual warfare or just bad mental habits? I think it can be both. It can be spiritual warfare and bad mental habits, right? It's a mixture of two because many times, like all things that are spiritual warfare would, I would say is it's opposing forces. It's good principles and bad principles fighting each other, right? And so if you are, you know, I guess like sleep deprived, right? All of that ties into you having a weaker spirit. If you're sleep deprived, you're not praying as much, then weakens the spirit. If you're sleep deprived or you're not eating as healthy, then you're again, like you have brain fog. This happened to me yesterday. I was like, I ate some popcorn chicken, right?
And it was like fried popcorn chicken. I had a little bit of boba. And I was like, dang, this is like fire. And you're lying. You did not have a little bit of boba. You had a lot of bit of boba. Okay, I had a 16 ounce boba, okay? All right, it wasn't 32 ounce. I was like 32, ah, self-control, 16. Anyways, I had that. And then I had to read the book. So every day at a certain time, I read my book and read it for 15 minutes. I literally sat there and I couldn't get anything. I was trying to focus, but because the stuff was so bad, I was getting like food coma, the sugar rush, I was crashing. And I'm like, dude, why? Like I'm falling asleep and it's only 15 minutes and I'm reading this book. And I felt like I couldn't recall anything, which is crazy though is after like 15 minutes, I sat there and I was like, all right, let me just close the book and let me try. And I'm fighting, fighting, fighting. Like maybe five minutes later, I'm starting to recall stuff again, right? And so what's really amazing is like your brain, obviously not to go too much on a tangent, it can bounce back from certain things,
even if you don't feel like it. But it did feel like I wasn't able to recall as much as if I didn't, if I just ate healthy and I had good energy, I think my focus wouldn't have been affected. And then therefore, like I wouldn't feel the way that I felt and then it wouldn't feel so grueling. In the same way, if you're sitting here and you're like trying to take care, you have bad health, right? Whether it's mental, physical, emotional, then how are you gonna be able to fight when Satan, God of this world is coming straight to you and like attacking you fully? There's just no way. You're gonna be depressed and you're gonna be trying to fight back this depression on top of all of these negative thoughts. It's so much stuff. And he just literally overwhelms all of us, right? So to answer the question, when it comes down to how do you know if a thought is essentially from God or if it's something that is from the enemy, in itself, that could be spiritual warfare. It's like, how do you know, right? It's like you're in between. Well, it's very simple. The thoughts that you have that are from God will always push you towards God.
The thoughts that you have that don't push you towards God push you towards desire, flesh, I don't know, lust, whatever, obviously those things are gonna come from Satan. So you have to be able to like sit and kind of think about your thoughts, not in like a ruminating way, but you have to think like, okay, am I following my thoughts and these thoughts, are they pushing me to God? And if, or am I not trusting my thoughts and they're pushing me away from Satan and like into God? So those are things that you have to really think about. Is there a spiritual explanation behind like why certain people have different levels of like mischief? Like if there's like, let's take it at the most basic level, like you're saying, like doing a prank in school. It's like some people don't even have that thought versus while other kids would think that's hilarious. And then there's another level to the kid who will actually go do it and act on their thought. And then the thoughts get worse. Then there's people who would think of driving their car off the road and there's someone who would actually do it. And there's someone who would think of stabbing someone and then there's the person who would actually do it. I'm like wondering if there's like a spiritual explanation or biblical explanation, but behind why certain people receive different levels
of mischievous thoughts and act upon it accordingly. It honestly, the way the Bible explains it is how much a person trusts themselves. It's how much a person is going to sit there and go, this thought's mine or, oh, this is a weird thought. That's the differentiating thing, right? So like for me, in my experience, when I was thinking about, you know, like the scary things, like I never thought these aren't my thoughts. I always thought these are all my thoughts. Whereas certain people who don't do certain things, they'll catch themselves. Like they'll even say it like, yo, I don't know why I'm thinking of weird stuff. Those people, they usually don't follow themselves because they can tell at least by grace, I would say, that, oh, this isn't a thought that would norm, this isn't me, right? But then there are people who are like, oh, I want to do that. And this thought, they're just more susceptible to it. So I would say it comes down to people who are, how much they trust and believe. believe in themselves. Proverbs says, the more you trust yourself, the more foolish you are essentially, right? It says, a fool trusts in man, including himself, a wise person leans on God, right? And so, I noticed that every single person that was ever in prison, or any person
that was ever depressed, or saw demons, were people that highly trusted themselves. Like, I have a homie, right, who I grew up with, and in the projects, we literally like, I had thoughts of, I'll do whatever I want, and this kid, when we went to go try, I was walking, and there was a drug dealer, and he was like, bro, you wanna try this? And it was like a joint that was super sticky, it was laced with stuff, obvious, I didn't know that, I was a kid. And I was like, hell yeah, give it to me, because I thought, again, if I do this, doing drugs means you're cool, you know, like, obviously, everyone's doing it in there, it just looks like you're an adult, you're a kid, you wanna be an adult, so you wanna, you know, relate to these people. But my friend was literally like, Johnny, I don't wanna do this, what if I get caught? What if my mom finds out? What if I get addicted? I'm like, what the hell are you even saying right now? Like, why are you even thinking like that? You're making me look bad, you're a freaking weenie. I remember calling him, you're a weenie, bro. Which, you know, is like a little girl, and then he's like, nah, I'm good, man, and then we just like laughed at him, and he like left. But he went on to just be more successful than me.
And it was solely because he sat there and he didn't trust himself, he was like, bro, I don't know if I'll get addicted, I don't know if my mom will catch me and beat the hell out of me, like, I'm cool, man. And it was just wisdom at the end of the day. So there are people who are more susceptible, and I would say nine times out of 10, it's because they trust themselves. The more you trust yourself, the more it's gonna correlate with what you accept and how you follow through with it, right? And that's why the world is so big on believing yourself, trusting yourself, because man, when I trusted myself so heavily, more than any of these kids around, I lived more miserable than everybody around me. Like when I look back, like there are only a select few of my friends who were obviously with the business, but the majority of kids that I either went to even continuation school with, or went to like middle school with, they all went on to live better lives. They didn't end up as gang members, even though there was gang, like in our era, gang banging era was crazy. Everybody was baggy pants, big old long belts, and W and S and whatever they had on their belt, their initials, Cortez's, it swept the world, man.
During that time, Tupac, Biggie, so all of them was a gangster rap was a thing. And, but not everybody ended up dying on the streets. Not everybody ended up joining hoods. Not everyone ruined their lives. Some of these people I know now are like, dang, you always stood solid. You have like, you know, multiple investments. You have multiple assets. You grew up in the hood and now you're out the hood. You got your parents out the hood. So again, it comes down to really like the simplest term is like you trusting yourself, following yourself, and that's gonna affect how miserable you're gonna be. So you're using the example of the guy that chose not to quote, unquote, trust in his thoughts, but he trusted his good thoughts of, I'm gonna work hard, go to school, and invest and go to college, no? That, I don't think so. You don't know him, you're not in his, right? I do know him. I asked him. He's like, that guy is me. Tears off his hat. He comes into my lives time to time. But I have conversations with him. He legit just told me like, bro, I literally was afraid. Like I didn't know whether, I didn't know myself clearly. That's not, I mean, you could say that's a good thought,
but he didn't know. He's like, bro, I didn't, I just didn't know. And then obviously he received grace, right? Which we're, we have to, you know, factor that in. But I just, he didn't do what I did. Like I literally trusted every single thing from me. I thought everything from me was amazing. Like how Aaron was like, I was a top, top. Like I thought my top, my thoughts were like, God, legit. I thought I was my own, I was so big. My saying when I was younger was, you're the master of your own destiny. That was my saying. My go-to was, you're the master of your. I used to believe that, I'm saying. I don't say, I said, I believed, I believed. Get him out. I just said, I believe that too. No, I said, I believed it. Like, you know, cause I believed in manifestation, which was also funny because your story of, you literally manifested evil. You would think scenarios and then make it happen in real life. I'm like, he probably could have been. Well, manifestation is from the Bible. A lot of people don't know that. They just take stuff out, right? So even through this book, I was reading it. I was like, dude, there's so much wisdom,
but they just stripped Jesus out of everything. They stripped God. What he's talking about is found in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. And I was like, what the? So he was saying basically that the brain is rigid. It gets stuck in this way. And it's- Not Jeremy's, his is very smooth. But now I forgot what I was- Now, you're saying how they stripped manifestation and also even the rigidness of the brain. Yeah, so a lot of times where it's called like brain mapping, where your brain will kind of get stuck in this rigid mode. And in the book, it says that your brain can train itself to make it sicker, like it can make itself sicker. Like believe that. Yes. And so it talks about that contrite and broken spirit. And it talks about it in Proverbs, where it's like, you know, illnesses you can heal from, but who can come back and bounce back from a broken spirit. So it's like your mind is like, I suck, I suck. And literally your mind will stay like that. And it's like, it's a way that you're, it's like surviving, but it's self sabotage at the end of the day. Right. I'm like, yo, if this guy knew Ecclesiastes or Proverbs, he would literally be like mind blown too. I don't know if he's a believer, but I'm like, man, this is crazy. So to the point of why did, you know, people trust their thoughts? No, I think at the end of the day, people just, they go against the norm, right?
That's not normal to be in an area where all of this is influential. You're, you're, you're in the hood. Everybody's doing it. The norm is not, not to do it. The norm is to do it. And so he was like, nah, I'm not going to do that. And everyone clowned him. We clowned him and I'm his homie homie. And I would, I slept over his house, did all that. He slept over my house and he was just like, oh, I'm good. And he just walked off. Like, I'm sure he thought, dude, you're not my friend. Like, how are you going to make me, you know, disrespect me in front of these people. I don't want to kick it with you anymore. But he was like, he just like push that to the side. But I'm saying, what do you say to the person that says, I had, I trusted my good thoughts and look at where it got me, Jonathan Chang, grace. You receive grace. I'm not saying that every single thought that you, again, is going to be evil. Sure. There are things, but can you get there without grace? When is your grace going to run? I mean, it doesn't run out, but it's like, when is your blessing going to, is it always going to be like that? There's, I know for every person that's trusted themselves and made it, there are thousands and millions of other people that trusted themselves and didn't make it. Right. And it's like, it's net negative. That's why those people sell those motivational speakers. There's not a lot of them.
Right. There's, I mean, there's a lot, but in terms of the population, there's one David Goggins. Like it's like, man, who's going to lift the boats? And it's like, right. But how many people do what he does? They can't. Right. It's like, because that's that, that I guess, anomaly versus like how many people are depressed, how many people are lazy, how many people are, you know what I'm saying? Like sad and miserable way more than people who are happy. I'll tell you that much. So again, people, I think Satan highly, he's a spotlighter. He spotlights everything on that one, like, oh, look at him. You guys can be like him. And as you're comparing, you're losing hope. You're losing happiness. You're losing peace. You're losing time. And you're like mad because you're like, why can't I do this? And you literally almost have to train your brain to like trick yourself for many wins. You know, I see a lot of people do it and no disrespect, but there's a lot of MLM people who do that. They'll put like hundreds of thousands of dollars into it and then they'll make 500 and be like, I made 500 in that way. And it's like, yeah, but how much did you put into it though? Right. And so that's what Satan does. He makes you waste your time. Legit. Whether it's rumination, sitting there just thinking about thoughts and like playing stuff
back and playing these mental loops or sitting there just negative self-talk, oh, you suck. What's wrong with you? You're horrible. You got to do better. All right. Let me try and do better. This vicious cycle of like trying to do better and falling, trying to do better and falling, trying to do. And then, you know, I see this with people who have multiple ideas. There's always 10% here, 10% here, 10% here, never 100% in something. And then 10 years goes by and they're just like, dang, I literally wasted all my time, had all these ideas of starting this business and starting that business and doing this business and nothing's working out for them. And it's not even like they don't have opportunities. They literally just like they overlook the opportunities and like sit down and hunker down and spend 100% into this. They're rather like, oh, this is too much. I'm just going to go and like find other things that will make me more money quicker, basically. And they literally throw away and fumble stuff. It's crazy how many people I know that I've mentored who will tell me in their 50s, man, I had a perfect opportunity at 28 years old, 30 years old, 32 years old, 34 years old and be like, yeah, I just I just wanted to do real estate, man. I just wanted to do this. I wanted to do that. And I just I lost it all. And I'm like, dang, it's horrible. What did you say? Like, how would you help the person where the thoughts are like incessant, right? They're like they know it's negative, but they I just can't stop it, Johnny just comes in my head.
Yeah. And it happens every day. And I've tried everything. I've read the Bible. I've prayed. I've tried to do everything you say. I know it's not my thoughts, but it just keeps coming every day. You have to know the difference between a thought like having a thought and believing in a thought. Right. Like thoughts kind of like visit, and I would say belief like moves in. So when you believe your thought, you're like literally creating a space for it to shape you, right? Because a lot of people say you're not your thoughts, but some people literally make their thoughts them. Like, oh, I had this crazy thought, how can I think of that's who I am now. And they literally agree with it. Temptation comes, guys. Intrusive thoughts come. That's why they're called intruders. They come in. But imagine some, you know, random guy robber comes in and you're like, oh, stay here. Make your bed here. Like, it's crazy. Like, you would never do that. But we do that with our thoughts, right? We sit there and our thoughts are like depression comes and it visits us. And we're like, oh, yeah, I'm depressed. Anxiety comes and you're like, yes, this is my anxiety. I can't get rid of it. And you literally create a bed for it and a home for it and you allow it to come in and ruin you basically. Let's say there's things in the physical world that confirm that thought.
And I'm going to make this up. Like, let's say somebody calls you ugly or stupid, right? And then you do things in your life where people are like, so stupid of you, right? Or you try to talk to women and they're just like, you hear from other people, oh, he's not that good looking. He's pretty ugly. Like, I would never date him. No matter how hard you try, you're like, I'm not ugly. And I know I'm smart. But everybody else is telling, the physical world is like. But facts are, that's a fact. So facts are facts, right? For example, like if a person is not good looking, then they're not good looking, right? It just happens. I mean, you know, I'm not saying you guys are not good looking, but it's like if you're not good looking, that's okay. If someone comes to me and they go, you're short, right? And I'm short. That's not a thought. Like you could confirm that, like you're saying, right? A thought is something that it's imaginary. It's like, wait, what do you. So, for example, anxiety, right? Anxiety is just you trying to predict the future 90% of the time. Because it's not even something that's happening, but you're trying to control something you can't control in the future. Usually, like most people have anxiety about their future, right? Like, oh, my gosh, I don't have enough money right now. What happens in five years? And am I able to send my kids to college? And again, this is five years later. You don't know what's going to happen. But you're already, like, trying to, like, play that in your mind.
That's not a fact. So, there are certain facts, yes. And, you know, but thoughts are thoughts, right? You have to differentiate between the two. So, if I'm a person who's, you know, unqualified, then I shouldn't get mad. If the truth is I'm not qualified for the job, what's the next steps? To get qualified. But people stay stuck in that. So, I would argue the opposite end. When someone comes and goes, you know, in your example, oh, yeah, you're not good looking. You're stupid, right? And then you go, no, I'm smart. That's a thought. Do you understand what I'm saying? Like, oh, yeah, like, I'm smart. It's like positive. You're trying to talk to yourself positively. But you also have to be honest with yourself, too. You have to know, okay, I struggle here. I lack here. I mess up here. Now, most people and most of the population is not okay with that. They rather sit there and lie to themselves and have an uncomfortable and predictable, like, they want a predictable lie. Right? Than, like, an uncomfortable truth, essentially. That's just how the world has become. Right? And that's just part of it. You know? So, yeah.
It's okay that you're ugly. Yeah, like George Janko said it. He was like, I'll get to the ugly people later. Do you remember that? That was so funny. I know a guy that had no comeliness. It was Jesus. I'm not ugly. Okay. Well, what if it's just. I'm going to start bone smashing because of you guys. What if it's just an opinion, though? Because some things are opinions and some things are facts. No, you're ugly. That's a fact. We both agree. Okay. But someone out there might disagree with that fact. Right? Comments. Just be honest with them. All right. Facts are facts. My ugliness is a fact. But if we're talking about straight-up opinions, like, Jeremy is funny. No fact there, right? I didn't hear any facts. So, I'm just curious, like, then where do you trust your thoughts versus the world? So, there's obviously, like, practical thoughts and things like that that you have to follow. Right?
What most people think and what they don't understand is when I sit there and I go, distrust your thoughts. Right? There are people literally who are like, okay, so, if I'm sitting here and I got to wipe my butt. Right? And they think I would literally be like, no, don't wipe it north to south, east to west. Stay crusty. Stay crusty, my friends. Have a crusty booty. Like, no, obviously, there are practical thoughts. Do I got to go pick up my kids or not? No, God will raise my children. Just leave them there. It's like, no, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying when it comes down to, right, your thoughts versus the world. This is the word of God that is something that you have to get rid of and it comes down to self-sabotaging. Guys, we know what sabotages us. We know when we have those thoughts of like, dang, I'm nothing, I'm horrible. You can't trust those thoughts, even if it's not about God. And it is against what God is saying. God is saying, you're a new creature. I will help you always. I will make all your crooked paths straight. But if you're sitting here and you're like, nah, God's not going to help me. Look at the situation. Look at this. Look at that. That's when you have to deny your thoughts. Right? You have to acknowledge them.
Yes. Right now I don't have money, but that doesn't mean God is not God created money. How can you not help me? Yeah. Right now my kids are not listening to me, but can God not make them listen to me? That's the things you guys have to consider. It's not just, wow, it's facts. Look, they're not listening. Right? It's like, so they're never going to listen. It's like, that's not true either. All of us didn't listen. Like there's times where even the most best kid was defiant in some point in life, but bounce back from it. It's not as bad as what we think it is, but a lot of people, they tend to take things a little bit too literal when we say, distrust your thoughts, what's the difference between a thought and opinion? An opinion is an opinion, right? Thoughts are something that, I mean, facts are things that you can prove, obviously. So yes, there is facts in our eyes. There are facts that are subjective to us. Even truth sometimes can be relative and subjective to certain people, but when it comes to the word of God, that's the absolute truth, at least for believers. So are you going to trust the word of God? Are you going to trust the depression that goes against the word of God and says, I'm depressed and I'm sad and I'm lonely and God's not helping me right now, God's not listening to my prayers. God's not, you know what I mean? Like giving me a fat bank account, he's not going to provide for me. Like you have to make a decision.
At the end of the day, we do have free will and we're able to make a decision, right? Not everyone who has cancer is defeated. I know some people who have cancer and be like, you know what, this is my chance to meet God. And I'm like, dang, you got crazy faith. And there's people who have cancer who are like, I'm defeated, I'm dead. They literally start to like deteriorate because their brain is like, it's over for me. And then there's some people that don't even believe they have cancer when they have cancer. Like old Korean people, no, it's very good. These are okay. No, you lie. You know that lie to me. Like there's that. There's old Asian people were like, oh, I'm fine. I just drink some herbal tea. I'm like, what the hell are you? I cancer bro. Like, but there's all kinds of people, but the heart posture has to be, what is it? Am I going to trust the word of God or I'm going to trust myself or I'm going to trust my doctor. I'm going to trust myself. I mean, there's so many different levels of this obviously, but yeah. Then give us the practical, right? The thought comes into my head and it's so strong and it's negative. How do I defeat it? How do I defeat negative intrusive thoughts? First and foremost, you have to recognize that it's not your responsibility to fight them. That's it. The end of the podcast.
See you guys later. Oh, it is not your responsibility to fight your thoughts. What why? Why am I saying that? Why don't you think about that, Jeremy? Why would I say something like that? Because it's God's job. I'm right. How is he going to fight though? What do you mean? I have to make a decision. I have to go there. That's how people are, right? Your only responsibility is to take your thoughts to God. It literally says in the Bible, second Corinthians 10, five, take every thought captive and bring it to the obedience of Christ. Christ is logos, the word that was made flesh. So your job is to sit there and let's say you have a negative thought fly in. You're stupid, okay? Does the Bible say that? No, I'm made in the image of God. I'm a new creature. God is my strength. God is my wisdom. God is my power. So which thought am I going to trust, right? God, it's difficult right now because my thoughts keep telling me I'm dumb. Everyone around me is telling me I'm dumb. The situations are playing out that I'm stupid. I'm making bad financial decisions.
I'm making all of these things. But what do you say? Then I have to trust what you say, but it's difficult for me. So that's why people prayed like this. I believe, please help my unbelief, right? So during that time, you have to go to God and go, Lord, I know the Bible says this. I know Johnny's podcast. I know they're saying this, but it's not clicking for me, right? Because I still trust my thoughts. Father, God, according to your will, please help me distrust my thoughts. I don't know how to take my thoughts captive. I'm assuming that I have to bring them to you like this though, and God, please work in that way. Guys, daily devotionals are back. My hope is to help you guys grow with your spiritual life each and every day. How do you avoid it becoming transactional? Like God, like, like proof. I feel stupid or I can't get this job. Like if I get this job, then like, you know, I think it would make me have more confidence in myself that I'm not a stupid person. Yeah. Um, I mean, it's according to the will of God, you have to realize too, that you can't do anything. That's the whole point. Sitting there and going, it's not your responsibility is basically I can't do it.
So let's say you sit there, right, Jeremy. And I tell you guys, don't become transactional with God. You think that's going to help? That's like me telling you guys don't sin ever again. Like the fact that you think you cannot become transactional to God, you have to recognize that you are transactional with God. That's the whole thing. If you're asking that question, how do I not be transactional? It's proof that you're transactional. Because the whole point is we can't do it. A lot of people don't understand what Christianity is, man. And I'm just going to call it out today. Genuinely people think Christianity is I sacrificed my life for God. I give up my life for God. Christianity is not that Christianity is God. Jesus sacrificing his life for us. Christianity is God given his life up for us because we can't do it. It's him dying in our place. It's him keeping the laws for us because we couldn't do it. That's why he says, don't think I come to abolish. I come to fulfill the law. Right. He's laying down his life for us because he knows that we can't do it. In Romans four, five, it says Christ died for the ungodly while we were yet sinners. He died for us. And then that belief is counted for righteousness. So we have to realize something. We are always going to be transactional with God. And then when you recognize that and you acknowledge that, that you're never going to be able to really overcome your thoughts. And that's why God has to do everything for you.
The renewal of the mind comes from God when he says, I am holy. Therefore, you be holy. It's him who has to do it because the author and the finisher of our faith is Jesus Christ. How can we who are unholy manufacture holiness? That's like like pastor use a really good analogy. He said in South Korea, there is no oil. They dug for years and they couldn't find oil. So what did they have to do? Import it. They just had to import it from somebody else. Right. They couldn't export. They any country that finds oil or has oil as a natural resource usually makes a lot of money. They were trying to get on that game, but they couldn't. So what did they have to do? Borrow. Right. In the same way, I can't manufacture my own holiness. Right. So who do we borrow it from? God. But people are still trying to transactionally go, how do I become holy? OK, I'm going to try hard. I'm going to read the Ten Commandments. I'm going to fast. I'm going to tithe. I'm going to pray. That's not going to do anything. Holiness has to come from God and God alone. And we have to realize that we're unholy. That's why we need to go and believe in him and trust in him. And that transfers up onto us. That's why we're counted as righteous, counted as holy, counted as perfect because of Jesus Christ. The issue here is a lot of people keep thinking. I can stop being transactional. No, you cannot. You can be stop being transactional in your eyes, in your standard.
Right. I'm sure, you know, most people think that they're good, too. Yeah. In their standard. But when you take the measuring stick of God and you measure it to yourself, all of us fall short. I'm sure Hitler thought he was a great person, too. I'm sure he thought he was doing something great for Germany. And at the end of the day, I know a whole bunch of other people who are like, no, you're a horrible person. So where do we draw the line? The line is I can't do anything. God, you're the one that does everything. Your standard is gold. So everybody who's watching this podcast, you guys have to understand this very clearly. If you're stuck in this mindset and I'm not grilling you guys or shaming you guys for it, I want conviction, though. If you think, how do I do this? How do I do that? That is already the wrong question to ask. It's more of what can I do? What can I do? What do you mean how? I can't even do it. Even if I told you how you guys want to live a perfect Christian lifestyle, keep all the commandments, give every shirt off your back, donate every dollar in your bank account. That's what the Bible says. It says to help homeless people to stop. Don't sit there and be depressed. Help other people with depression. Do it all. And if you can, amen. Hallelujah. But I guarantee you can't do it. So why are we asking these things? Because we don't even recognize our heart posture more than anything, brothers and sisters. We have to understand these negative thoughts, these intrusive thoughts.
If you think you can stop them on your own, I'm sorry to say you've already lost. You've heard you're already completely crooked. Your foundation is rocked. It's shifted. And so we have to realize, oh, I can't do anything. That's why God has to help me. That's why God loves me. And even though I'm like this, he still cares about me. He still crucified his son for me. I'm supposed to be on that cross, but he crucified me. And in this way, that is what generates gratitude and love to sit there and acknowledge yourself and go, you know what? No matter what, I'm always going to lose. And God still chose me more than anything. God still chose me knowing all my blemishes, knowing how I'm going to react, knowing that I'm going to click on websites I'm not supposed to lust after people I'm not supposed to smoke this, drink this, do that. Knowing all of that, and at the end of the day, he still died for me and chose me. You guys have to realize that at the end of the day, that that's the most important thing, right? Intrusive thoughts will come, and just like someone knocking on your door and you have the deadbolts on and everything, you don't have to let them in. You can sit there and go, you know what? These thoughts are from the enemy, and I have a choice not to trust them. And even if you trust them, what's beautiful about that is that God doesn't hold it against you. That's what you guys have to realize at the end of the day.
So the way to overcome intrusive thoughts is to recognize you can't, and then when you realize you can't, you stop leaning on yourself because you trying to overcome intrusive thoughts is still you trusting in yourself and your capability and relying on yourself to overcome those thoughts. The whole point is to not lean on your own understanding and trust in yourself and to follow God and lean on God. And these are things that a lot of people don't teach. Churches are saying you gotta try harder, you gotta sin less, you gotta submit yourself, you gotta surrender. It's like, how can you do those things without Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit? You cannot. And so those are things that we have to realize at the end of the day. God, you have to do everything for me. Some days I wake up with intrusive thoughts too. Some days I wake up with hella temptation, but what do I do? I surrender that. Hey God, if you don't hold on to me, I'm gonna fall right into these temptations. If you don't make my thoughts disappear, I'm all day gonna think the same thing over and over and over and over again. That's just what it is. You know what's super interesting?
It's like, back then I liked partying and drinking and things like that, but then, and I thought that that would never go away, right, okay, if I go to a social environment, I just have a couple drinks or whatever. It's not that big of a deal. I'm Christian now, I'm not drinking every weekend, but if I go to a party and I'll have a couple drinks, it's not that big of a deal. But just one day, it just kind of went away. Like, I just don't care about it. I don't want the feeling. It was really random. I didn't have to do anything for it. But what's interesting is many years later, after I've kind of like, I've lost the taste for it, every once in a while, the thought will creep back in. Oh man, I kind of miss partying or what that was like, or I'll hear like a really good, like I like electronic music. I'll be like, oh, it'd be kind of fun to go to a rave again. And it's just really interesting how it's like, how quickly I went through that pain of living for the world. Lot like God removed it from me and it wasn't even that painful for me. And then now that I'm good, my brain slips back to, oh, you know, I have more self-control. God wouldn't really mind. And I caught myself there.
I'm like, damn, you're doing too good. You're way too comfortable. And you're forgetting what it was like as your old self. And like what, yeah, the pain that God removed from your life from being a part of that world. So. Most people don't realize that. But it was really interesting hearing you say all that, where I was like, wow, I kind of just ended back up in the same place. I'm just like this selfish person thinking that I'm more leveled up. But yeah, that was very helpful. It's important to realize that most people, when they just trust in themselves, whether it's to stop sinning or like continue sinning, all of it just starts with self-trust, right? I trust that I can stop sinning. So I ask these questions and I try to, and then I trust myself that I can't stop sinning. So like, I also, it's like, you're pretty much still stuck in this mindset of trusting yourself, right? It's like, and so people have to realize that it's such a difficult concept, but it's also very simple if they're listening to clearly to what it is, right? If a person is good, they are more prone to trust in themselves. It's just how it is.
Real people who stop trusting in themselves genuinely realize something about themselves. Dang, I'm cooked. There's nothing I can do to stop myself. There's so many people that say that in our discord stages, people who meet me every day. Oh my gosh, Johnny, I'm at my wits and I'm at my rock bottom. No, you're at what you think is your rock bottom, right? Like a lot of people, even in that thought process, I hit rock bottom. That's your rock bottom, but there's a real rock bottom that God wants us to hit. And it's this bottom is, I can't do anything. Yeah, but why does it feel like I bounce off that rock bottom? I hit that rock, like I said, it was like, I'm- But that's your thoughts. You don't bounce off of the rock bottom. You just think you do. He plants thoughts inside of you and then he makes you go, yeah, I wanna do this. I wanna do that. And then we take ownership for something that's not our own. That's the main thing. We're all at rock bottom, guys. Like we're literally gonna die. In a hundred years, none of us are gonna be here. Why? Because God already gave us.
He didn't give us a big house. He didn't give us a nice spouse or all that stuff. Like that's not guaranteed. What's guaranteed in a hundred years. is death like literally we're gonna die death and taxes as like Aaron says right genuinely and so we will die and we can't take it you don't have a u-haul with your casket you don't have a you know a safe deposit box like this would be hilarious filled with just pokemon cards and squish mellows and his gaming rig he's like at heaven's gate god's like how did you get that up here but basically like we just have to realize that there's nothing that we can take with us and we deserve only death once people realize that there's this different type of heart that comes to you and it's very difficult to explain but the best way to put it is it's just gratitude it's like you just become like yes you still get angry yes you will have your cravings but underneath everything there's a solid foundation of just like it doesn't get rocked it's just like yeah oh that's why i need to go back to god and what you guys don't understand is intrusive thoughts the reason why you have them and why god allows negative self-talk intrusive thoughts is very clear it's because you need it it's like what how could we say that like our whole point is trying to overcome these things even this episode is about that but if i'm being honest you need that that's the thing that's going to keep you going back to god and god is not going to heal you from something that's going to keep you tethered to him and like keeping you coming back and depending on him because if he removes all of your negative thoughts he gives you the fattest bank account he gives you the nicest house and everything else that you wanted you will not go in front of god i don't care how much you trick yourself yeah i would i would still thank him that is not true that is not true because he don't even give you all of that stuff now and he's given you so many things already let's say that are blessings and you're still like not enough think about satan right satan had everything he had the fame he had the wealth he had the mind he had the every everybody loved him and at the end of the day he rebelled against god the most like he was literally in heaven he saw jesus he saw beauty he saw streets of gold as it says in revelations 21 and yet he went against god the most and not only him but a third of heaven that went with him be as above and ball and all those other angels that felt that fell and they and it was because they didn't want to surrender they thought no we we deserve this we deserve way more than this man we've been freaking
singing praises to god we've been doing good for god and we love god what the heck like that's it what else what about us don't we get a throne don't we get other stuff and this is the hard posture that satan tries to lean into everybody i don't want to have in truth intrusive thoughts if you don't have intrusive thoughts and you have everything you want what's going to keep you connected to god i would i would answer nothing like most people who do good in life don't need god all these super successful people that i know are like ah god's cool but like you know am i going to pray to him or if i get cancer spend you know millions of dollars trying to fix it like i'm not going to pray to him i'm just going to go and take my money and fix it like what how stupid is that like you got to get stuff done and literally their mindset is they never have to lean on god because they become mini gods they're like i just focus on myself and i'll be good so having intrusive thoughts having these thorns on our side these negative things at times you know these hardships pastor talked about this this last sunday is a good thing it's literally what keeps you grounded with god right and that's the thorn that was on on paul's side because paul could have became satan he had everything he wrote 14 epistles he led people his disciples made it into the bible sheesh there's no other disciple that had their disciples make it into the bible paul was the only one bro bro was goaded put some respect on his name for real he got titus timothy all these foods and yet you know peter's great john had polycarp and all that that's great but none of these guys made it into the bible so his people he was that good and yet what does he always say in first corinthians 15 i'm nothing there's not i'm a chief sinner there's nothing i can do i persecuted the church i have a thorn on my side i went to god three times and god said no my grace is sufficient for you in weakness i am strong so you being weak you better boast that you're weak but what do we want to do no i don't want to be weak i don't want to have intrusive thoughts oh they're so crazy it's just pestering me it's pestering me what you're basically saying is i don't want to lean on god anymore i don't want to lean on you god i want to be able to stand by my own have a clear mental mind and have a renewed mind without you and that's the god is not going to allow that to happen because he will ruin your plans before they ruin you right he will remove you from tables where things are that the food is poisoned it's just how it is but we keep wanting to go back to these tables we keep like a dog returning to our vomit keep wanting to go back to i want to be god i want to lead my life i want to do well that is the most craziest that's the one thing that human beings do man they just keep going
and back to the things that hurt them, they keep going back habitually to just being God in their lives. And once you recognize that, and God doesn't kill you and actually still edifies you and blesses you, it just hits different. It just hits different. Dang. Something to say? You dog-eating, you vomit-eating dog. Dog-eating is great. You vomit-eating dog. You're a dog-eating and you're a vomit-eating dog. Thank you. Rock bottom joke? No, no, no, I didn't get that one. No, I didn't get that. Someone will pick it up. What's your take on the phrase, we're not saved by our works, but we're saved to do good works? I think that's okay. I think the good works is, I mean, if you're truly saved, then you have the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, and Jesus is the one that starts the good work and finishes the good work. So I don't mind that. I think, yeah, I think a lot of people are,
they think good works saves them. That's where I kind of have an issue with, right? It's same with the commandments. We keep the commandments because we're saved, not to be saved. And same thing with salvation. It's like salvation is not something that you achieve. It's something that you believe and you receive. So again, all of our good works, yes, we can produce good works, like loving on people, helping them, bringing them to the gospel. That's important. But again, you have to, you can't forget the root of those good works, which is Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. As long as you understand that, then that's what it is. I see too many people taking, outwardly going, oh, you know, I really love God. And it's, I'm nothing. But like in their heart, they're like, yeah, right? Like I did that. I'll give you guys an example. We have people wait in our lines in live events, right? After service. And people will sit there and wait two hours just to come pray for me, right? And I'll be honest. Sometimes I'm like,
why can't you just pray for me at home? Or like pray for me while you were in the thing. Like, why do you have to come and pray over me, right? And what it is, is although they say that they're humble and, you know, they have humility, and they're like, oh, Holy Spirit told me to do this. Deep down, when I see them, I could see that it's really more of like pride masquerading as like humility and spiritual serving people. Like they wanna, and they say this amazing prayer, but it's like super, it's not that it's rehearsed, but it's very performative. It's like, Father of Father, Lord, you know, Father of Father, Lord of Lords, King of King. Like there's, and I'm just like, dang, bro. And then I never give them play. Like they'll finish and say in Jesus' name, in Jesus' mighty name, amen. And then they'll look at me like, yeah? And I'm like, thank you. And they'll literally look at me and just be like, oh, okay, and like walk. It was like, it's awkward, right? And it's because we understand what performative stuff is. And I feel bad for people like that because they don't know the true gospel. So the only thing they can do is perform for God. And I would say that they're more like Jesus admirers versus like people who follow, Jesus followers. People admire Jesus.
They love what Jesus can do for them. They love these types of things like, oh yeah, I have peace now. I love God. I care about this, et cetera, et cetera. But little do they actually know that it's really for them. Their heart is like, dang, I failed in the world, but let me give this Christianity thing a shot. Trust me, I've been there. So I know. And it's like very, very subtle, but it leads people to trust in themselves so heavily that, wow, look, I prayed for this person. You see that, God? I gave this person money. You see that, God? It's this type of heart that people can't even see. And I'll be honest, I think they do see it, but I think that they reject it because it feels too good. That's what performative things do. They feel great. It feels amazing. But at the end of the day, you're still living rollercoaster. You're not leading disciples. It's just like everyone's just on their own island serving God by themselves in their own way. And that's why the most scariest verse in the Bible is Matthew 7, 21 to 23. He says, literally, not everyone who says, Lord, Lord, shall enter my kingdom,
but those who do the will of my Father who art in heaven. In those days, they shall profess. Haven't we prophesied in your name? And in your name, casted out devils. And in your name, did many wonderful works. And the one thing that Jesus says, which is crazy to me, is he goes, I never knew you. Like, he doesn't go, you didn't do enough. You didn't prophesy enough. You didn't feed the homeless enough. He says, I never knew you. That's a relational thing, right? So a lot of people don't realize that they don't have a relationship with Jesus. They just think that they do. And that's the thing that sends people to hell. How can you love someone you don't have a relationship with? It means you can't love them, right? Because you don't know them. You can't love someone you don't know. You have to get to know people. You have to sit there and visit and know his heart. Most people are showing their heart to God and what they do for God, but they're not talking about what Jesus did for them. That's why it's always, I fasted, I prayed, I tithed, I broke my heart, I distrusted my thoughts, I helped other people, me and I, versus what did Jesus do for you? He died for my sins, made me righteous,
made me holy, made me sanctified, but they don't really talk about that nowadays, you know? We're hiring, guys. Core of the Heart is hiring, but listen carefully. We're not just building a company. We're building one of the fastest-growing Christian communities in the world. In just a year and a half, this community has grown to over three million strong, and we're nowhere near done. Our mission is simple but massive, to build the best tools and resources to help anyone in the world get closer to God. Our first immediate goal is to get 100 million people into heaven, so when we say we're hiring, understand this. We're not looking for employees. We're looking for mission-driven A players that wanna change the world. Our criteria is simple. Don't show us what you could do. Show us what you've already mastered. Like, if you wanna be the short-form editor, show me the millions of views you've gotten on short-form. If you wanna be the podcast producer, show me the shows that you've successfully produced. We've learned the hard way not to hire off potential. We just wanna hire off of peer experience, people who have already proven that they can perform at their skillset at the highest level.
We have jobs available in many different departments, media and content, live events, and marketing. We also have remote jobs and LA-based jobs available. If you're an A player that has mastered their craft and wants to do something that glorifies God, then please head to the link in our description and check out the job board. And lastly, if you're an absolute beast at something and you don't see it on the job board, please reach out. I mean, you know, you might be able to do it for us. It might work out. So if you're amazing at something, you don't see the perfect job description, just reach out, tell us what you're good at. Maybe it'll work. Genuinely, I can't do this without a team, so I'm very thankful for anyone who supports the mission. I look forward to hearing from you guys. So John 6, 29 tells us that this is the good work of God, right? This is the work of God that you believe in Jesus Christ and in whom God sent, which is Jesus. So all we have to do is believe and people don't realize that, right? Faith without works is dead also ties into this. What is the work that God is talking about? By having faith, believing in him, and then that obviously will then produce all of the good work, which is Jesus Christ. Okay, but let me argue that Mr. Johnny Chang.
Go ahead, argue that. Not argue it, but it's like, okay. No, you said it. But don't I need to, if I believe everything you say? No, you don't. And I'm gonna keep. If you do, you wouldn't say nothing. And I'm gonna smoke, you know, because it's not that bad. Like Jesus is not gonna be mad that I smoke cigarettes. I'll quit eventually. But then people from the outside are like, that guy's a Christian and then it turns them off because they're like that. So shouldn't I kind of like watch what I say? Of course, of course, you should do those things. But none of that is for salvific, meaning none of that is for the salvation. Like you don't get saved by that, right? You're doing it exactly for that reason is to think about other people. Being a Christian, guys, is thinking about other people. Like Jesus Christ could add a very valid argument by sitting there and going, you know what? People are gonna roast me. People are not gonna believe in me. People are gonna say I'm a prophet when I'm not. People are gonna say all these things about me. God, I'm not gonna hang on this cross. And if he just thought about himself, we would all be cooked royally.
But the one thing he did was like, no, I gotta think about this person, that brother, that sister, the ones who do believe in the gospel. I'll come and I'll die for them too. And I'll die for everybody. And so in the same way, we should think about other people. You know, everything is expedient, the Bible says. In 1 Corinthians, all things are lawful. All things are expedient, but not all things are lawful. Meaning you don't have to do everything. Of course, you can do whatever you want. We have free will, right? But at the same time, why would that be beneficial to us? Like we would still obviously be, you know, not punished at least eternally, but we will be punished in this world. If I go out there and I'm just like, I'm righteous and start punching people in the face, I'm probably gonna end up in prison. Like it's just gonna happen, right? Even if I'm righteous and I believe in Jesus Christ, and I probably wouldn't be a good representative of, in fact, I wouldn't be a good representative of Christ. Like this guy has the fruit of the spirit, but he's literally punching people. Like what the heck? So obviously, right, these hypotheticals are good, but most people don't do that. Like when they say,
oh, so can Christians sin however they want? It's like, bro, first and foremost, a true Christian never really tries to sin however they want. And on top of that, if you understand what sin is, you do sin however you want, because you're literally a ball of sin. Like you're sinning in your heart every single day. You're promising God you're not gonna do something and you still fall short because we're human. And so we do actually mess up every single day, which is sin. I'm gonna ask a little bit of a different question here. When you guys are scrolling on social media, do you guys more think negatively or positively with what you see? I'll be honest if you guys want me to go first. Go first. I used to think more negatively, right? I think like- And now? What? And now? But like, for example, We'll see, you know, you jerk. No, okay. I'll just see like a couple doing something corny. I'll be like, oh my God, that's the corniest couple. But then I'm like, you know what? Like they're happy. Like, why am I hating on this couple? That's doing something.
Maybe, maybe internally that couple is doing it to be performative or whatever, but I'm like, what did I want? Like, why wouldn't I want a happy relationship with, with a partner that I can, like, why wouldn't I think the positive and want that for me? Or I'll see somebody doing well in something and I'll be like, ah, God, they executed that so poorly, but it's like, no, wait, I want the, it's, it's the same thing for you. It's like, why not ask God for that blessing for me? So I'm trying to reframe it. But for some reason, when you're, when I'm on social media, my commentary is always like corny. This like, you know, it's just like, it's just like more negative commentary than it is positive commentary. So what do you guys think? Negative or positive? I think same along that line. Like I used to think hella like, dude, this is whack and super judgmental, but now there's just, it's more compassion. It's like, even if it's something is corny, even when people talk trash, right? The first initial thought is always like hater thought, like, man, you know, this is stupid. Like, why would they say that? Like, let's say somebody who makes a heretic video of me, right? Sometimes these people send it to me. They're like, look at what this guy said. And the first thought is like, bro, I swear, bro, if I met this dude, he'd probably poop his pants, right? Like obviously negative. But then after I'm like, dang, they don't know. They think that they're defending faith.
And what they're really do is they're sealing their fate, right? It's like, they're, they're going against the word and they're not even studied. They're just either going for clicks, going for views, cloud chasing, or just they genuinely believe that they they're right. And so it makes me sad. It's like, dang, all I talk about is God and the gospel. And these people are like, he's wrong. He's this, he's that. And so I think it's just more of like empathy and it comes from the gospel. Like, I think Jeremy, for real, that, you know, you have to give the credit to God, bro. The fact that you're able to be like, all right, I'm probably not hating any like as much. I don't think like we would be like that just even three, four years ago. True. Right. I think genuinely being around, you know, save people, pastor Kim and servants to then be like, dang, let me think about other people. I may not always be right and all these things that we talk about on these podcasts and in real time has probably shaped your mind to go, let me, let me pump the brakes a little bit. Very true. Very true. And thanks for doxing me. What about you? Uh, I'm very selective. Said my name. Oh, sorry. Just like, they don't know. Uh, Jeremy.
Um, my last name too. Jeremy Kim Kardashian. Sorry. At. Stop telling them. I'm not, I don't want people to know I'm a nepo baby. I can read lips. I just said your address. I don't want them to, I don't want them to know I'm a nepo baby. You were born rich. Yeah. So what? So what man? Um, I think it really depends honestly on, on whatever I'm seeing. Like I I've always been very on both ends of the spectrum throughout my whole life. Like you're just on the spectrum. It's just on the spectrum. That's what I get for saying that word. I knew you were going to say that. That's so low hanging fruit, bro. You suck. No, like forever. I've been like, I've been like for creators and stuff like that. I've always been like, if I see anyone post anything, I'm like, good job. At least you're posting, you're trying. There's so many people that say they want to do stuff and they never do it. I don't even care how horrible it is. It could be the worst content I've ever seen. And I'm like, good for you. Keep crushing it, kill the cringe.
And then, but now, and same with always, if I see like an ad or a company doing something, or like someone pays the Rizzler, the NFL, Coca-Cola is using AI. I'm like, you guys need like, there should be like, content should be heavily regulated. You should have to like apply for a camera. I see certain things and I'm like, this should be illegal. There should be a line, someone I can report this to. Cause that's how much I hate certain kinds. And I'm like, someone needs to do something about that. One line, they should make podcast equipment, like illegal. Target and just lock it up. Exactly. It's like going to the gun store. They check your ID. It says here, you've had two previous podcasts. You've had two prior podcasts. What happened to those? It says here you were canceled on one of them. Sorry, sir. We're not going to be able to sell you this microphone. Sure. This is SM7B, sure, buddy. It's so funny. So it really depends what I'm seeing. I've always felt really strongly about both ends. It really depends who it is. That's very true. It fluctuates, but I'm trying to, yeah, but I'm trying to reframe it in my mind. Cause I'm like, it's so, cause that's the other thing too, right? It was the thing you.
talked about earlier where comparison is the thief of joy and you see these people that have more or happier or do something and your and your motive and your first feeling is to hate like dang like like where's that coming from? What's wrong with you? and i think if you're honest with us out there i think ninety five percent of people more think in the mode of like man why can't i have that? Why is that person like that? I could tell you why I would hate even though for sure it's out of jealousy but that's not the only reason people hate did you guys see like the funny clip I forgot it was uh... who's that comedian I'm sorry he does like crowd work Matt Rife, he's a handsome guy. He's like everyone just hates me like whoever hates you they're just jealous and she's like really so if I like hate uh... do you think people who hate Osama Bin Laden were just like jealous and he's just like stumped so you can hate people for other reasons but no there would definitely be times where like I used to DJ right and if I stopped DJing like near the end of COVID or whatever it was there'd be times where I'd see an up-and-coming DJ and listen all DJ content is cringe all of it but there's but I would just be okay with it I'd be like good for you post the content whatever it was then there was the moment where I would see DJ content like you are so cringe this is so cringe I wouldn't I wouldn't even want to be in this community because everyone in it is so cringe it was like so unbearable uh... but but it was because probably that I wasn't DJing and then I'll go out Tristan will invite me to DJ and I will love it I'll be like dude we should do this more get more shows let's DJ more it's like I'm just I wish I could be making that cringe content I wish I could be head down making that cringe content that's how I felt like right like 2022, 2023
I've since gotten over I support DJs again no offense if you're a DJ but yeah like I would yeah yeah it's funny it's it's a weird back and forth yeah biblical hearts change so like no one with a happy girlfriend is like hate like thinking that's cringe like other people post and they're like god you guys are so cringe they see that and like ooh data idea yeah yeah that's so true so true okay I have an interesting question for you guys to end the podcast just a thought provoker okay if you guys could re-watch one day of your life which day would it be and why I know which one you can't touch anything you can't affect anything you can't ask anyone any questions but you can have a third person omniscient view to re-watch it from either your eyes or above your eyes like a video game fortnight third person style and I know my answer is gonna suck so I'll let Johnny go first no let's hear yours first and make it quick and then we can no no no fine fine fine fine fine no if you need to think about it mine was that mine was that one time that you said that I was wrong but I know that I'm just kidding hey Aaron you see that you have like this like crazy power to go back to any moment and just like to get back at me for something yeah yeah it's like see you actually wanted wings when you said you said that you wanted pizza but you said wings right there first I remember you're like I'll go back to the podcast episode 13
it's like you can re-watch that you can re-watch all right Johnny what day of your life would you he knew immediately so I'm curious I think the day that I met Pastor I just want to see like how is it does it hit different you know because knowing what I know now going back and like re-watching it I mean I can play it in my mental but like to see I want to see my body language I want to see like every intricate detail like what was it that he said specifically which I know but like how he said it what was he looking at you know like like when he saw me like what was this because you're caught up in your own thoughts right so you pull up and you're like ah but like I wanted to see if he was smiling at me like yeah those little details would be super dope how vivid is your memory of that interaction pretty vivid pretty good but like I don't remember I remember him smiling I don't remember pulling up because I just remember I don't remember seeing him like that like I just remember pulling up and going all right I'm gonna drop you off and then I looked over and he was smiling but I want to see like if he was kind of shocked that I came if he was like oh what the heck like oh wow he's here or you know whatever it was like I want to see is that your deepest question surrounding the moment is what was pastor's reaction or what are your deepest questions surrounding that moment I guess that that this re-watch would give you I think like because I can read heart posture so well now I want to know what pastor's heart posture was I kind of know it because I lived through it but there's little things in cues that he'll give off that like I want to see where he held back in certain things or where he he was more uh like empathetic and compassionate and other things you know so yeah that that would have been something cool to rewind That's a good answer. I wonder if there was a security camera in that church corner, right? No, is it this? No, it's the different church to LA also times weren't like it as much back then We're just everything's on camera What else what else happened that day? I know you've told the story a lot but like what happened before that moment and what happened after that moment before that moment
His mom called him and asked him for a ride to church What was even before that what were you doing when you got that call? I don't remember. I'm just and then what'd you do? You want me to be honest? Yes, before I before I went before my mom called me. I had gotten into an argument with one of my homies and I remember telling him like it was over Money, it was over money and rugs. I was like you said it was Persian. It's not Fake rugs, this is laced with cotton. What the heck is this man? You said Egyptian silk, man. This isn't freakin No, but I remember arguing with him over some rugs like all you gotta you know I fronted him X amount of whatever and oh, I get it back to you in two weeks, bro I said you said that two weeks ago food like remember arguing with them and What else happened after that? I remember I Went to go get Some food, but I ended up just for some reason not not wanting to eat the food Which is crazy if you guys know me, I legit like I'll eat anything So instead of getting food, it was it was a taco spot. I remember I was trying to go get tacos and then I Ended up getting sour belts Like you guys remember the strawberry sour belts fire. So in the in the the liquor store I remember it was an old Korean dude and hit that the this it was he had two boxes it was red sour belts and it was green sour belts and he had the little like a Like little tongs and then he's like, yeah, you remember that. Yeah Yeah, it's not even in the package yeah a company yes Yes, and so he would sell them like he bought the whole thing and would piece them, right? And so he broke it down like straight up broke it down. It's in from zones to no I'm just kidding. So he took it I put in a white bag. I remember it's like a pastry bag and I remember eating it and I was like man like man my homies don't you know, whatever like and I just remember feeling like empty But just eating food would make me happy. And so after that What did I do? This is embarrassing, but I was trying to like think of like which girls I was gonna holler at and stuff You know, I was just kind of like, oh, yeah
I'm gonna hit up this for whatever and then all of a sudden I get the phone call and my mom was like frantic Oh Johnny, you know actually the car, you know, I think it's overheat and I'm like, what the heck? What do you calm down? Like what are you talking about? And she's like, yeah, I'm in I thought she said Pasadena at first, but she's like sembra Latino But she's like, but I heard it as Pasadena or something like that. I was like, oh mom. Are you in Pasadena? She's like, yes. Yes. Yes. So I remember driving towards Pasadena and then going she goes I'm here near baseline and blah blah and I was like baseline There isn't really like a baseline out and I'm like mom. Where are you? Where's the freeways at you know, and she's like, oh the 15 and I was like 15, bro You're like hella far bro, and I'm like, okay, you're like where the 15 and the 215 split I'm like, what are you doing out there? Oh And I'm like, all right Let me just pick her up and I remember just driving like a whole hour to go get her bro. Were you pissed? Of course, I was pale. What the hell is this girl doing, bro? You can't find your way around a freaking grocery store you over here and freaking sembra Latino And I'm like, all right, whatever man. It's moms, you know, I'm not tripping like whatever and I was just driving and oh my gosh Dude, I even remember the song that I was playing when I was driving to my mom in my in my Beamer. It was Britney Spears. Oh Yeah No, it was uh, it was many men by 50 Many me. Yeah, many men Yeah, I was driving and then you know picked up my mom I seen the car on the road and she had got it like one of those people had towed it off for her I forgot one of those I forgot cow trans or whatever people and then She's like, oh, we'll just leave it here. I was like mom. You can't leave it here Like I have to get the triple-a whatever she's like just just leave it here. I like it's too much We're like what the hell and then she just was like frantic Like she was I could tell I remember I remember distinctly man like dang. I remember my mom had like Like dehydrated breath. Have you ever?
You know what I'm talking about? We were like so down and her lips were super chapped and I remember feeling bad for my mom and she's like I have to go to church and oh I need to get water so like I'm like we'll stop at the gas station to get water because like what the hell you know and then she's like no no no no no no we can't we can't I'm gonna be late and I remember getting pissed at the church like yo you fools are tripping like my mom is like hella like dedicated to you guys and you guys ain't even send one of your freaking people to come pick up my mom and that's when I was like man I don't know why and I started I feel bad but I started grilling my mom like why you go to this freaking Korean church man they don't even care about you they don't even come out and drive to you like it's your son me who's still going out there picking you up and I remember she was just ignoring me and she just was like sitting there and like like praying and stuff I was like man you're a weirdo dude I remember saying that you're a weirdo mom you're a weirdo anyways um end up just like I'm I don't care I'm gonna just stop the car and I stopped the car and you know grabbed water for her and then she was thankful for it but like she was still stressed out my mom had severe anxiety back then too even though she was like saved she would always panic about everything and I would always tell her calm down and then yeah we get over and I'm like okay where is it and she's like oh it's it's on this exit she told me the wrong exit I remember for any off chance that someone is listening and doesn't know what you're talking about this is the story of when Johnny initially met Pastor Kim which was inevitably turned him over to God yeah and I remember going through where our church was in MS hood I remember it was in in back then it was in Koreatown in Marisalvatrucha hood and I remember like driving through and then I felt like uh immediately like I had to be on my p's and q's because I'm like mom why you go to a church like this what the hell it was legit in the hood you know in like the heart of their hood and so we go over there and then you know back then there were more people kind of hanging out on the side and on the streets and taggings and like you know all that and so we get over there and then that's when I see the pastor and so yeah I just remember and there was hella homeless people outside of the church like just tents everywhere too it was like mini skid row low-key and um yeah that church was just infested with rats I remember it was like crazy it was just it was like a hood church straight in every every sense of it it was a hood church and I remember the the road was rocky and I remember scraping my car and I was pissed because it was like it had a it had like a pothole inside of the the um inside of the the like there was a
gate that slid and once you slide it was like on an incline and it had a pothole and it was like and I was like oh my gosh dude and then after that you know I just seen him and I was like man I'm I'm gonna head out of here like I'm not trying to stay here and then the rest was history met pastor they moved out of that church and then ended up going to get got saved and ended up going to Temple City but what he said what happened after that day yeah when you finished talking to pastor and it was oh so then afterwards like I had stayed for the whole thing and then my mom was like you know after we fellowship my I remember pastor going you know you should go home and rest take your mom home to rest I was like okay thank you pastor I was really appreciate and I just kept harping on how cool he was I remember telling my mom like mom he's he's really nice like damn he's not like other pastors like he's really chill and he's he's actually like funny and well mom I I kind of understand you know and I remember driving back towards the house that we we hit we hit a little bit of traffic and I just remember looking at the other side was all traffic and we were free and I remember telling my mom like dang mom all these people don't know that they're perfected all these people don't know that they're that God has forgiven all of their sins and my mom was just bawling I remember and I was like why are you crying and she was like she just now I know why right because I was saved so I was like dang that's so crazy that you know she she was like crying and I didn't I didn't know I was like why are you like so I was very cold back then I didn't cry a lot and so now I'm like dang my mom was like how can Johnny have a heart like like that to think about like dang these guys don't know about the gospel mom it was that it was that quick and so yeah it was it was beautiful yeah great story did you go back to beefing with your friend and seeing what girls you were gonna hit up that night and no everything felt like like very like like a weight off my shoulders it was crazy I was like dang I can't believe like I'm going to heaven and the whole night I'm going to heaven nah man no way no no I am wait what is it really like that man I've been lied to and I just it was this the whole night and then I concluded you know the next morning like wow it carried over to this happiness carried over to the next morning and that's when I knew it was real and I was like, dang God, thank you, you know, genuinely. And it just felt like, like a light bulb just turned on. It was so crazy. A light bulb just like lit up and was like,
I can't believe I thought God was like this other thing when it was this, this thing. And I felt a closeness to him of like, sheesh, you're, you really like, why me of all people? And that was the, it was why me, I can't believe I'm really saved. I can't believe I didn't know who you were. I can't believe I distrusted you so much. I didn't even know who the hell you were. I felt stupid, but not like a bad stupid, it was like a godly remorse. And it was just from then on, bro, like that was the word, Hebrews 10, 14, Hebrews 10, 17. And I just kept reflecting on, I was thinking like, I'm gonna get Hebrews 10 blasted on me. Like, you know, I'm gonna get tatted. Like, hell yeah, this is, and I gotta tell my homies, like that was the next thing was, I gotta tell people about this, man. I gotta tell D, I gotta tell the homies, like, dang, if they know, you know, and then when I did, I got shut down. But I mean, that happened like a couple of weeks after, you know, but I got shut down and then I went back to pastor and that was the formation of me trying something and then coming back to pastor. And I didn't realize that that was the first steps of fellowship. Like kind of how Jeremy came to me and was like, but what about this person?
What about, same stuff, where it was like, just going back and forth. And pastor was like, I really love that you keep coming to me. And I'm like, for real, I feel like I'm bothering you. He's like, no, I love that you keep coming to me. I love it, I love it. Don't trust your thoughts, like keep coming to me. Open your heart, share your heart. And I'm like, share your heart. Again, these words, thank you for sharing your heart. Thank you for opening your heart. I'm like, what the hell does that even mean? I never understood any of these words. And then he's like, thank you for, you know, breaking your heart. I'm like, breaking my heart? Like I thought a broken heart is a bad thing, right? Thank you for not being hardened. And you know, I'm hardened, like what? So yeah, I just, it was cool. It was like learning everything, man. It was amazing. Wow. Wow, we just got to go rewatch that day. Yeah, that was crazy. Yeah, good question. What about you? What's the day that you would relive? Did your phone, is your phone okay?
Sounded like a big drop. It's okay. I don't know. I don't know. He always does that. It doesn't matter. I have a stupid one. What is it? So one time when I was a heathen and I was just following the world, I got, I had this really nice electric bike. I couldn't afford a car at the time in LA. And it was like, it was the worst year of my life. I was like, all right, at least I'm gonna get an electric bike. I had this electric bike. I probably spent like 1,700 bucks on it, but it was how I would get to work. And I could just do things now. Yeah. And one time my friend invites me to a party and I'm like, I was already super hung over from the night before. So I'm like, I'm going to go to the party and not drink. And I take my electric bike and I go to this party. And it was the first time that I tried White Claw. And I was like, I was like, oh, what's this? No, I don't know if it was the first time, but it was like one of the earlier times White Claw had just come onto the scene. And I'm like, and so my friend hands me one and I tried, I was like, oh dude, like this isn't like,
this is not that bad. It tastes fine. You know how when you have a little bit of alcohol, when you're hung over, it goes away. So I started feeling good. Then they're like, oh, do you want to play White Claw Pong? And I was like, okay, I'll play. And then all of a sudden the guys like, it was this older guy's birthday and they start breaking out Casamigos. And so I take one shot. And then the next thing I know is it's the next day I woke up and I'm in pain in my bed and I'm like, I can't move. And I only have boxers on and I take my sheets off and my whole entire body is scraped. Like, it looks like someone peeled like a sheet of skin off me and my face is swollen. I'm like, what? And I, and when I step out and when I step out, I can't get like my body feels like I've just been in it like in a car crash. And I'm like, what? And I go look in my bathroom mirror and I have a huge black eye. My teeth, I don't remember if my teeth were broken. I think my teeth are there. I've broken my teeth before. So I was scared. I'm like, okay, my teeth are there. My face is swollen, scraped.
Like I still have a scar right here. Scrape, scrape, scrape. And I'm like, so I, oh, you're bored. No, I know. I'm sorry. I have heard this story many times. Yeah. Okay. Well, long story short, I run to my garage and I rip open my garage and my bike is not there. Like, how did I get home? How did I get in my bed? And my phone is completely shattered and it's strobing. I can't see texts or nothing. And so luckily it's connected to my computer. So I look and there's one, there's like, there's one person, it's my friend, who wasn't even at that party that I was at. A different friend was like, yo, where are you? Dude, pick up your phone. Yo, I'm looking for you. It's just like. all and it's at like two or three in the morning and so I'm like wait what I left that part so long story short I who cares about the rest of the story what I want to know is well actually I did find out where I crashed because I was wearing airpods apparently and you can track airpods on my phone so I track my airpods and I find my airpods under this bridge and I was literally like maybe three blocks away from my house under this bridge and where I had where I had crashed um like it was so dark at night like and it's a bend cars could have ran over me so I don't know how I got doesn't matter at the end of the story what I want to know is I want to go back to that time and say who took my bike yeah who watched you there asleep on the ground and then took your bike just crashed on the ground and took my bike who took my 1700 bike left the airpods
who took my bike yeah yeah but dang jerome you're so lucky bro you could have done one thing you could re-watch your best memories with your friends you could re-watch the day you were born see with your parents you could there's so many options and you're just like I want to know who took my bike I want to know who's the sick sicko that saw me like smashed against the wall and then under this bridge I'd be like yo give me back my bike I missed that bike it was a really care about your happiest memories I remember all my happiest memories I want to see same low-key I want to see who tried to finesse me when I was at my lowest who's my op what would you do if you ran it all back and you look at it's 10 years ago it's me this guy's an idiot I just pick up the bike before we met each other it's like so no no we met each other I knew you oh you knew me I'm like oh yeah you hear me I just take the bike like dude something crazy happened last night wait where did you get that like yeah I got this new bike that's crazy um I don't know if I were to really just think off the top of my head it would be just some super happy moment whether it's I don't know something with my friends or family maybe a family vacation that I'm really too young to remember but everyone else does like I have a ton of pictures of me from Disney World as like a complete toddler and because all my siblings are older they all have memories and I don't but that would be cool to watch me you're probably so lame as a toddler actually you know what I would really do I want to go back to the first my first fortnight when that I would rewatch I was in a room with like probably 25 I was in a room with probably like 25 hours epic peak 2018 moment I won't even get into the details but if you were there you're there solo yes of course wow of course did you run from the storm of course of course but you you want to know like this was maybe a longer time ago but I was thinking about the happiest moments of my life and it was very sad because a lot of them were like raves why is that so sad because it's like just drug induced oh well yeah I mean yeah a lot of that is a blur to me too I don't know how you could remember that so I remember I think I got so coked out of my mind many times I just don't even remember a lot of that stuff yeah legit I remember some some of it being super fun though but whatever yeah it's funny because then I forget about the times there was god awful and I'm like I'm never gonna touch this stuff ever again yeah it's true yeah I always do always somehow like blur out it's like it's like the x you're like I kind of miss the x and then you're like oh wait a second the psychopath why would I go back to that you like wake wake up it's like sure over time you know like the idea of time heals all it also like

Ooh. What day would you rewatch? Yeah. What day would you rewatch guys? You made it this far end of the end of the video game and the video gang. Yeah. So appreciate you guys for supporting and like all the times that we do, let us end with prayer guys. Let us bow our head. Father God, thank you so much for giving us this podcast. Lord, as we touch up on intrusive thoughts and negative self-talk, please allow us to remember that thoughts are only suggestions. Lord.
We don't have to follow them. We have a choice whether to accept or to reject, but father God, what we're so thankful about is that you allowed Jesus to be tempted in all the ways that we're tempted. And yet through him, we became more than conquerors through that precious blood, the grace of the gospel. Father God, for that we are forever thankful. Also, there are brothers and sisters who are struggling. Lord, we're struggling day and night from the accuser who accuses them of their past sins. Please allow them to also overcome that. You've made us new creatures. You've freed us from everything and made us fellow citizens in heaven. Please allow us to remember that we're saints sanctified and perfected and that we should renew our mind daily and that we sin only because we forget our true walk in our true journey, which you've already led for us, father God. And you've already staked that on the cross. Thank you, father God. We leave everything in your hands. And in Jesus name, we pray. Amen. Amen. Comment, subscribe.
