[BLANK_AUDIO] [BLANK_AUDIO] [BLANK_AUDIO] >> Humble, but opposed as the proud. So it's gonna get really, really good. So I'm excited about this one. Is there anyone else out there? Can somebody check to tell them to come in? And welcome to our remnant revival institute, everyone on here. [BLANK_AUDIO] Literally, you are the only one that's actually doing the things that I say. Like everyone else is just like every week is the same thing, they forget. I don't know how to forget, Rebecca's the only one that's like, let's get together. So she doesn't have to say it, and cheering the people on. All right, let us know in the chat where you're joining from. We have 14 people on there, not including myself. Let us know where you're joining from in the chat from Maryland. [APPLAUSE] Phoenix, Arizona, Philadelphia, Paris, France. Okay. >> [APPLAUSE] >> [FOREIGN] See, I'm trying to practice my French. Good afternoon, I think it's Bonsoir. [FOREIGN] Right? Am I saying this right, Helene? [FOREIGN] I love you. [LAUGH] I'm asking her how she's doing.
[LAUGH] Santa Ana, California, Fort Orange, Florida, Tampa. Helene said yes. I said, right. [FOREIGN] I know a little bit. I'm from Haiti, if you guys didn't know. So my French is not all the way there, but they teach us in French. So I know a little bit of French. All right, oddly enough, I'm not Hispanic, but I speak Spanish fluently. Beni, you want to come forward? Huh? I know, I speak Spanish fluently, but I'm not from the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rican. [LAUGH] [FOREIGN] Oh, see, [FOREIGN] You see, I sound like I'm like Hispanic, but I'm not. And then when I speak in French, it's like, like chopped up, but that's okay. Get together. I don't want to have to say it all the time. Get together, we're a family. Get acquainted with each other and each other's breath. [LAUGH] Okay, let me try to read what Helene said. She said, [FOREIGN] I don't even know what that means. I think she means your French, don't say your French is okay. Maybe, I don't know, is that what you're saying, Helene? [FOREIGN] It's okay, your French is okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Amen, thank you, male C, male C, [FOREIGN] All right. [LAUGH] Okay, yes, your French is actually good. Okay, amen. Charlie is coming from the UK. Laura said so happy to be here. We're happy you are here as well. We have about 21 people on here, amen, praise the Lord. As I was beginning to say, some of you came into this room late, some of you just logged in on the Zoom. We are going to start a series that's called God opposes. God blesses the humble but opposes the proud, okay? We're gonna talk about what humility is, what pride is, how we can distinguish that we're prideful, how God corrects and warns someone that they are operating in pride because he always warns them what it means when the scripture says that God opposes the proud and we're gonna break this down. It is an eight part series which means it's gonna take two months to go through this series. So that means we have a lot that we need to unpack. So come prepared, come ready, come hungry. Please turn off this TV in front of me 'cause I keep looking at people. Thank you. Every time I look this way, oh, I see it's a screen moving. It is not gonna help me. Thank you very much.
I think Jariah had the remote. Jariah had the remote in his hands. Where is it? Oh, okay, here we go. All right, so let's pray. So father in the name of Jesus, holy spirit, we thank you for being here with us. Every single Tuesday at discipleship. Lord, thank you for this new series that we are beginning. We ask you, Lord God, that every single thing that is taught is taught by you straight from the throne room of grace. We give you all the glory, honor, and praise for every single revelation, for every single thing that you are going to Lord God in part unto us. We decrease so you can increase in Jesus name. And we all say together, amen. We all say together, let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Y'all got breath or what? Come on, let me know amen in the chat. You got breath in the chat? Let me know I got breath in the chat. Type, I got breath in the chat. If y'all not gonna respond to me, I'ma talk to the chat. Y'all better respond to me. Y'all gonna respond to me? Amen, praise God. So I need a mic to go around.
I wanna know what you guys think humility is. (crowd murmuring) Stand up so we can see you, thank you. - I think humility is just dependence on something else. So dependence on God. - Okay, so humility is dependence on God, okay? Okay, so go a little deeper, Paolo, for someone who doesn't understand what dependency means. What do you think he meant to say? - I would say dependence on God, for me, it looks like just not leaning on my own understanding and just trusting in him, like in every decision that I make, like just inviting the Holy Spirit to guide me. - Okay, so humility is dependence on God and you're saying that dependency means not trusting in the Holy Spirit and just trusting that he will guide you, okay? And Tavia, stand up so they can see you. - So I would say it's the like lowering of yourself, like because you're so dependent on God that you wanna be like low before him, not in a upright position, not your heart or anything or self-dependency. You want to be, you know, dependent on God and be low before him. So in Heart Posture is also reverence to God. Okay, so Tavia took it a little deeper. So Tavia is saying it is dependency on God but the way in order for you to be dependent on God, you have to lower yourself so that you can depend on God, okay?
Stand up, please, so he can see you. - Sorry, y'all, I can use the mic, it's so late. - Huh? - I gotta get used to using the mic, ooh, girl, just scream. - Yeah. - Just ah, ah, ah, ah, go ahead, do it again. There you go, see, it's not that scary. - Personally feel like humility is just put in others in general before yourself. - Putting others before yourself? Okay, all right, yes? Well, hold on, let's get the mic. You gotta get the mic, you gotta stand up so that they can see you and that's so hard. Oh, all right. - Admitting that you don't know everything and that you don't have all the answers. Okay, so humility is admitting that you don't know everything and you don't have all the answers. What happens if you admit it but you still don't respond to that admitting? - You can become extremely arrogant. So everything that you guys are saying, it goes hand in hand with humility. So thank you for sharing that. But I'm gonna get a little deeper. You know, y'all know how I love to get deep. So Rebecca, let us know. - So first that the Lord was really highlighting
to me this last week, is loving God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Your heart being your desires, your soul, your mind being your thoughts, your soul being your will. And I really think like humility is coming to that understanding that down all those avenues, you're surrendering and submitting yourself to the Lord and your heart and your mind and your soul and with all your strength. - Okay, so yes, a lot of everything that all of you said, it does go hand in hand with humility, it does. But then with the different things that you guys stated, I think about what if you know you're supposed to be dependent on God, but you don't do it? What if you say you want to lower yourself but you don't do it, right? What if you truly want to put others before yourself but you don't do it, right? And what if you want to truly love God with all your mind, heart, and soul, but you don't do it? Then what? - Uh-huh. - He needs a mic, Pastor Benji. - Well, let me try to stand up, stand up. All right, so I would say like an avenue definitely that goes along with humility is being really in a condition in the state that you're in before the Lord is being like transparent and honest and truly like allowing hell to go into the depths of your heart and your mind.
What the things that he already know and you actually allowing him to know the things that he already know and bringing it before him and being transparent, being true. - How do you get there? How do you get to that point where you allow God to get into that? - Well, I would say, 'cause that takes humility, but how do you get to humility? 'Cause you can't ask God to humble you, you won't do it. You need to humble yourself. So how do you get there? - I think first and foremost it's realizing that you can't really search yourself. You have to allow God to search you. So it's being honest and asking God to search the deeper areas and the deeper parts of your hearts to reveal what you can't see. To realize that you genuinely cannot see, only he can see. So I think that's like an aspect of genuinely asking him to search your entire mind, heart, your mind, will, and emotion, your soul. And also it's being willing to go back every single, almost like every single day, not turning away, but like showing up. And that makes sense, like almost just being faithful and returning back to his feet every day until he reveals it to you as your soul. - So it's like lowering yourself every single time.
- Every single time. - But this is, thank you for sharing. But this is where I'm getting to, right? How do you lower yourself? Like this is, I'm gonna have other people like chime in, but this is where I'm trying to get to, right? How do you lower yourself? Come on, I want you guys to put in the chat what you think humility is. Brittany says not having shame to get low and depend on the savior as well as taking accountability no matter what the situation or sin was, giving yourself to the Lord so you can move and live in his will. I like the part about not having shame to get low, right? That's the key thing that I like about what she said, not having shame to get low. I wanna ask you a question because this is going to help you guys. But before that, let me just read, Belinda said to be humble and to truly, wholeheartedly submit to the Holy Spirit, but how do you do that, Belinda? Cynthia says means being humble and not thinking you're better than anyone. Yeah, but how do you get there? How do you get to being humble, right? I'm gonna say is one thing and it's gonna help you guys. I'm gonna ask a question.
Who is the most humble person that we know according to scripture? Yes. He's lowly at heart, but not humble. Talking about the part, there's a scripture in the Word of God that says, "You can look it up." That talks about him being humbled. And what happened? Yes? - Is it that he didn't consider himself equal to God, but he lowered himself lower than the angels, and he humbled himself to the cross? - Yes, somebody look up that scripture and read it. The entire scripture would forward. Anyone has it? Stand up, read it, tell me where we find it, and then read it. Philippians two, verse eight, and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. - Okay, keep going. Do you know the rest? Hold on, give me a second. I want the part that happens. I want the entire scripture that talks about what he did, how he humbled himself, and then what was the result of how he, after he humbled himself, what came after?
Go ahead. Tell us where to find it. - But emptied himself by-- - Where are we, where are you reading from? - Philippians two, verse seven. - Okay, keep going. - But emptied himself by taking the form of a servant, being in the likeness of men, and being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God has exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name. - Okay, so Jesus humbled himself by taking a form of a man, lowering himself a little lower than the angels, taking a form of a human, God, the creator, the maker of the heavens and the earth, the one who created everything, you, me everything, blood cells, white blood cells, your hair follicles. I mean, he created existence. He is existence. There is no beginning to end to him. There is no ending to him. He decided to become his creation. He created you and then wanted to become like you. Then he did it and then he humbled himself all the way to the cross so much so that God exalted him and made him the name
above every other name. You ever ask yourself, how did the creator humble himself that much to live like the creation that he created and then decided to die for the creation? - Ever, ever wondered? Anybody ever asked himself that question? What did you think of when you... - Hold on, let's hear you from the mic 'cause I can hardly hear you. - Sometimes I think about it like this, it's like, oh, the ants need a savior, so I'm gonna humble myself and become an ant and live as an ant and then die to save the ants. And I mean, but even that is such a... It grossly understates exactly how the difference between God taking on human flesh and us doing something like that. It just, I don't think our minds can even really comprehend how, what he did. - Yeah, it's exactly. You literally just said it. It's what he did. - Everything that he did, what is it? What is the one word that we talk about? The gospel, everything that he did is the gospel. Everything about him coming down and dying on the cross and giving us a second chance isn't that the gospel, right? So then, would you say that humility is the cross?
Would you say that? Humility is the cross. In order for you to even look at the cross, you have to be humbled. You can't Because the cross is where you meet is where the Savior meets you The cross is where you see all your shame The cross is where you see all of the sins and every single thing that that you have walked him Right Isaiah talks about it. He says he was wounded for your transgressions He was bruised for your iniquities and the chastisement of your peace was upon him and by his stripes You have been healed. That is the gospel. That's the cross in order for you to receive all of that You need to humble yourselves even to even look at the cross in The Israelites when they all fell with sickness and God told Moses to take this brown serpent and to put it on the cross And whoever looks up the cross would be healed. You know some of them didn't look and they died Why do you think some of them didn't look? Not because of obedience because they were prideful When you know that you're dependent on a Savior and no matter what that Savior tells you to do You know why you had to be humble because the law used to say that whatever is put on a tree is cursed Whatever is put on a tree is cursed right and God put the serpent Actually, he said you should you shouldn't have any graven images You shouldn't be looking up at any graven images But yet he still told Moses to put that graven image of that serpent on the cross Some of them became prideful and didn't look on that cross and they died I will never forget the day I was worshiping one time in the Lord I was looking at the crowd and I said Lord a lot of these people aren't worshiping you what is going on and he showed me he said The reason why some of them can't worship me and humble themselves is because they can't understand How a human can be better than them What did that scripture say that he became a human right and then what did he do as a human he lowered himself Lower than any other human all the way to the cross
So much so that God made him the name above every other name Does that mean that he was human? During the time that he did that the scripture says he became human So you as a human you're thinking about another human being that good to do that Wouldn't that offend you if you're prideful? How can you be human look at another human who you can't physically see but just believe in what he did If you are not humble enough to believe it How This is why a lot of people are dying spiritually and when they physically die they go to hell because the pride That they have is causing them to not look at the cross Humility is the cross you want to be humbled? Understand the cross it will humble you so quick The moment you feel like that pride is rising up Look at the cross and you'll understand what you're being prideful about This is why everything is found on the cross There's nothing else that matters but the cross Your life doesn't mean anything The cross does your marriage doesn't mean anything the cross does your children A lot of people are living this world as if it's their show their reality They are the most important thing to themselves Their emotions matter the most their feelings matter the most their desires matter the most So much so to the point that their pride blocks them from hearing what God says and Then they don't receive grace even though the scripture tells us scriptures tells us that God gives grace to the humble But opposes the proud You want to know what opposed? He fights you. When you're prideful, you're fighting the Lord. You're not gonna win that battle.
You'll never win. That's why you have to humble yourself. Humble yourself under the mighty hands of God, and in due times, he shall exalt you. And people think the exaltation means that you're gonna be famous and known because it's about you. But the exaltation actually means that he'll walk with you. That's what that means. Jesus humbled himself all the way to the cross that he was exalted. As the name of every other name. How was he exalted? He walked with God, did he not? He's God, but he also walked with God. He even showed us, him being God, he went to the Father for everything. God was dependent on God, but we think we can't be dependent on God. You look dumb. I'm just being honest. That pride making you look real dumb. God was dependent on God, but then you think you're not dependent on God, but he created you. It's never gonna work. So when I ask, how do you get to the point of being dependent on God? 'Cause it's true, humility is being dependent on God,
dependent on the cross, dependent on the gospel, dependent on what he does, dependent on what he did, but how do you get to that point? You have to understand the cross. You have to understand the gospel. You have to look at the cross. You have to be so connected through the cross. There's always gonna be an opportunity for you to humble yourself in a certain area, but the cross will always keep you there, right? God knew, so Jesus knew that he was going to be crucified on that cross, and what did he do? He cried out three times to the Father, take this cup from me, obviously because he realized, I'm about to be tormented. This is gonna hurt. He felt all of it that he sweated blood, which is an actual medical condition. A rare condition. We think about the scriptures that make us feel good and we meditate on it, but we don't meditate on what happened in the garden. We don't meditate on what happened on that cross. We don't meditate on the cross. Why do we meditate on scriptures that makes us feel good, but we don't meditate on those scriptures
that are going to get us closer to the cross? Why is it that subconsciously? We think that maybe that didn't happen that way. Well, we read a scripture that tells us something that makes us feel good, and we say, oh yeah, this scripture is exactly that way. Why do we do that? I think that we do that because it's self-seeking, we seek for the self-seeking things, the things that we can find benefit in our-- Benefit you? Yeah. Things that you will look good in front of other people for and all that stuff. Things that benefit you. Yeah. But if you read the scripture that tells you that you're supposed to be like Jesus, and then you know that Jesus put himself on the cross, which means that you have to put yourself on that cross at the same time 'cause you've got to carry across every single day, but you don't meditate on that, how can you be humble? Okay. All the beautiful cookie-cutting scriptures are good, but when it comes to if you can't pick up your cross and follow me every single day, you're not worthy of me. You don't meditate on what it means
to be put on that cross, to pick up your cross every day. I wanna take you guys higher and deeper, and so what it means to be a disciple. And so what it means to actually receive what the Lord did. You don't only meditate on the good things. You meditate on everything. And if you meditate on the cross, you'll get everything. You know why? Because when you meditate on the cross and you become dependent, so dependent, because you realize, oh my goodness, everything He did on that cross gave me everything. So I need to be dependent of this cross. You don't have to be prideful and worry about you doing anything. And because you're not prideful about you and being worried about doing anything, you will receive everything because you actually make room for Him to do it. You won't feel like you have to be in control. Then everything will flow, healing will flow, forgiveness will flow, provision will flow. You'll keep looking at the cross and you don't have to look at people. You don't have to worry about people liking you because, hello, my Savior, the cross. I love you, but you don't have to like me. I lovingly don't care if you don't. Because of my Savior. Because I'm dependent on one person. I'm not dependent on you liking me or not. You liking me or not is not going to save me. It's not going to heal me. It's not going to provide anything for me. It's not going to do anything for me. But that cross already did everything for me. We meditate on things that helps us, that builds us.
Then we say that we're meditating on God, but in the back of our mind, we really want something out of it. Is that humility or is that false humility? What is false humility, pride? So you act like you're meditating on God, you act like you're dependent on God, but in the back of your mind, it's still about you. Eight weeks. We're going to dive deep for eight weeks. You guys ready? James chapter four verse six says, but he gives more grace. Therefore he says God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. So you're saved by grace through faith. You receive grace once you're saved. And you're not even saved with your own faith. That's a whole other teaching. It's the faith of God. You can't come to know the son unless the father draws you near. There's no way. You can't look at the son and say, Oh, that's a savior. Unless the father's drawing you near to the son. So it's his faith that allowed you to even meet his son in the first place. That brings you right back to the father. Try to riddle that. Because I meditate on that too. When you meditate on things like that, you actually start gaining more revelation that man. I really am dependent on this man. I might as well just surrender. I might as well just give up. Not in a like sad, giving up way, but in a like, yes, giving up way. Right? The word resist is a military word.
It does not mean God is disappointed with the proud or distant from the proud. It means God sets himself in a battle array against them. The way an army takes the field against an enemy. So when you are prideful, you're God's enemy. So pride does not merely cause you blessing, it enlists God against you. So you don't receive double the grace when you're prideful because you receive grace when you got saved and that he gives you double the grace when you're humble. So you could be saved and still fighting God. (sighs) You're still His enemy because you're prideful. So you don't receive double the grace because you're prideful and then because you're prideful you're in a battle with God. You're fighting Him. And you wonder why it's so hard, yes, you're going to go to trials and tribulations but it's not supposed to be so hard that you have to straight away from the faith. But it's so hard. It feels like you're in a battle. It feels like I'm in a battle and I'm in a war. Are you prideful? It feels like I'm in a battle, I'm in a war, spiritual warfare. Are you prideful? It says when you're prideful that you are in a battle with God. So does that mean you won't go through spiritual warfare if you're not prideful? No spiritual warfare will come but when you're humble and you look to the cross you don't even, does spiritual warfare, doesn't even, it doesn't shift you, it doesn't affect you, you still have a smile in your face, you have grace. You're protected. There's so many scriptures about you having authority and being protected. We always, we think it's spiritual warfare a lot and we blame the enemy a lot when it's really because it's you.
To be honest, you're the problem. And you blame the devil, it's not the devil. The devil can't do anything unless you give him power. Like I said, he doesn't even have the keys to his own kingdom. How can someone who doesn't have the keys to his own kingdom lock you up? He can't even lock his own door. This is why when you meditate on the cross you understand what God did when you start meditating on the cross and you stop meditating on your calling. Stop meditating on me being a prophetess or you being a prophet or you having a church one day or you having being a superstar in Christianity or you being known. Stop meditating on these things and meditate on the cross because then if you meditate on the cross then you'll realize that he defeated every principality and power. And then he went down to hell and he took the keys of death and hell. He took it and if you start meditating on death and you start realizing so the devil doesn't even have the keys to his own kingdom, he doesn't even have the keys to hell so he can't even lock himself up, so how are you going to lock me up? Then you'll stop real quick saying it's the devil. You guys keep walking around like you don't understand the authority that you've been given. God who rolls from the dead by himself, no one prayed for him. The man Jesus who died on the cross what we've just read in Scripture that he took form of a man died on the cross and then resurrected from the dead. Who do you know has ever done that? Nobody and then he tells you I'm going to give you the same spirit who rolls me from the dead is inside of you and you still think it's the devil. So what you're basically saying is that the devil is more powerful than the same spirit who rose Jesus Christ the earth savior from the dead is what you're basically saying. You know why because it's easier to blame the devil than to look at yourself. It's easier to point the finger at someone else pride than to look at yourself and humble yourself and say I need to go back to the cross.
I need to stop being self-seeking. I need to stop being stubborn. I need to stop making it about myself. Let me look in the mirror, like James said, and not walk away and forget how my face looks. A proud person can be gifted, listen, listen. A proud person can be gifted, hardworking, and anointed and still find everything strangely opposed and doors closing, favor drying up, striving without breakthrough because the resistance is not coming from the devil or from people. It is coming from God. How can you receive from a God who lowered himself all the way to the cross when you're prideful? You can't. Whatever it is, whatever it is that you're looking for, whatever it is that you're seeking. You know, yes, scripture says ask and you shall receive, but the scripture tells us to ask pridefully. What does it say when you go to the throne room of grace? How should you go? Bold and what? Boldly knowing your authority and what you can ask, but humbly asking. That's someone who's meek because Jesus was bold. He had full authority, but yet he still sought the father. He gave us a perfect example. He showed us exactly how to be. But yet we think our way is still better somehow and that God is OK with our way because he loves us so much. He's so humble and lowly and gentle
that he will take his time to show you. He will take his time to show you. We're going to talk about that. Part of this series talks about how he takes his time to show you, how he reveals to a king that they're being prideful before he actually starts fighting them. He can't go against his word. There are many battles in life you can win. The battle against the God who has taken the field against your pride is not one of them. You can't win that battle. The Greek word is antitasome. It means to range and battle against, to set an army in formation against, from empty against and tassel to arrange in military order. God does not merely dislike pride. He deploys against it. The proud are not resisted by circumstances. They are resisted by the Lord of Host himself. The Lord of Host himself resists you when you're pride, when you're proud, when you're prideful, when you're operating in pride and being prideful. When you're operating in pride, the Lord of Host himself resists you and is fighting you. I don't wanna, I don't wanna fight God. I don't know about you. You can have all that. You didn't go ahead and fight God, but I, I'm super straight.
I don't wanna fight the Savior. I don't. Pride is not one thing among many. It is the sin God calls an abomination. Somebody look up what abomination means. Give me the definition. Are we okay, remnant revival institute? You guys are good? Ray said, I don't want that smoke either. Me neither. I don't want it either. Go ahead. So the Hebrew word is toeva. Definition means something detestable, low song and deeply offensive, especially to God because it violates his holiness, righteousness and moral order. Detestable. We even have to look up that word. Detestable. It's like he's disgusted. Yeah, literally what it is. You know what detestable means? You taste something and it's so disgusting, you go, you spit it out. Pride is like that to the Father. Oh my gosh. Read it. The test of something. abominable, worthy, I'm going to look that word up, of abhorrents.
It just means terrible. All of that just means terrible. He hates pride. It's an abomination to him. Yeah, it literally is just something that's deeply hated. Deeply hated by God. Yes, I'm good. Deeply hated by God. And the Holy Spirit will tell you you're being prideful. You will tell you. Raise your hand if the Holy Spirit ever told you you're being prideful. OK, on the chat, raise your hand if the Holy Spirit ever told you you're being prideful. What do you want to say about such a wall? I just want the last thing. It says he does not merely dislike it. He regards it as morally repulsive because it opposes his holy nature. It opposes his holy nature. He's holy. I still don't understand. And I've asked the Lord specifically to explain to me what makes him so holy, a year ago, and he explained it to me. And I'm still looking at the cross. But till this day, this morning, I was crying in my secret place saying, I don't understand how holy you are. There's part of parts of my heart that doesn't get it. Because if I think I ever understand, I'm prideful. I don't understand. Paul, the man who saw God said, I know nothing. I haven't even laid eyes on the Savior. And I think I know something.
I know nothing. Paul, the one who wrote so many epistles that ever saw a bunch of churches, says, I know nothing. But you know something? He saw Christ. He saw him. He saw Jesus, just blinded him. For three days. And then gave him sight. And then appointed him an apostle. And then he says, I know nothing. But yeah, we think we know everything. You want another biggest pride that I've seen, especially in the churches? Your leaders tells you something, and you say, no, that's not it. Without even going to God and asking God to reveal to you what the leadership is saying. But because they don't feel good to you, that's not it. You're prideful. Or when somebody asks you, or when somebody tells you you're prideful, no, I'm not. Yes, you are, because you just said you're not. Give me one second. Someone who's truly not prideful would say, for real? I'm going to go to the secret place, and I'm going to pray about it. You know why? Because they fear God, and they don't, they understand. And not on some false humility, because people could feel that too. You could discern false humility. But truly saying, like, for real? Because it doesn't even offend you. It doesn't even affect you. You truly just really want to know if you're prideful, because you don't want to be an
abomination to the Lord, that you say, man, I'm going to pray about that. Because I don't want to be like that. But if you get offended, you're prideful. If somebody tells you you're prideful and you get offended, you're prideful. Because that pride just got offended. Because it was called out. It was poked at. So we got offended. This is good. This is good. This is good. Say, this is good. All right. What was your question? Sorry about that. I wanted to get my thoughts across. Isaiah 1412. What did you say? I say 1412. It was pride that led Satan to fall. It was pride that led to all this. So there's a reason God hates pride. He hates it. Absolutely. Because Satan says that he started looking at himself. Did you know that Satan used to make music for God? He was a worshiper. He was next to God. He made music for God. That was his job, okay? And now who makes intercession for us? Jesus. Those prayers are captured by
him and he makes intercession with the Father. But Satan was prideful. Jesus was humble. Satan started looking at himself and then what entered into his heart? Sin. The scripture says sin after he looked at himself, sin entered into his heart. So how can sin enter your heart when you look at yourself? Oop, there it is. The devil is causing me the sin. Not the devil, he was looking at himself. It was about two. Sin followed after that. Y'all good to give me like 10, 10, 10, 10, 15 more minutes? Okay, good. I just, man, this is so good. I'm just even thinking about like our walk in Christ with situations where you're trying to figure it out instead of praying and asking the Holy Spirit, hey, Holy Spirit, what do you want me to do? You try to figure it out? You're looking at yourself, right? Whatever it is, oh, this person fell into this, Holy Spirit, how do you want to handle this? You've even done all these things. How do you want to handle this, Holy Spirit, because Holy Spirit might hit something with an okey note in that person with it and you, because of whatever it is, you might handle it in your way, you're looking at yourself. That's so beautiful, bro, this is so good. Yeah, yeah, when you're prideful, it's because you're not looking, I want to give you a perfect example, just the other day, me and my husband were talking about something before he won on his trip and I said something and he goes, babe, you're being prideful. And I was like, wait, what? Because I was really trying to understand that he goes, because you're not asking God, you're just you're just saying what you feel. And I was like, dang, you ride. You're so right. I repent. I'm gonna go talk to God. And it happens all the time. Just today, I'm gonna be honest with y'all, I was not feeling like coming today here because I just had surgery. I wanted to stay home and sleep. And I'm like, I'm not going. I'm just gonna have Pastor Benji teach and all of these things. And then the Holy Spirit is like, are you gonna ask me? And I was like, I'm gonna ask you. The Holy Spirit, do you want me to go? And he's like, yes, I do. I was like, okay. I'm gonna just get up and go. So I'm not up here telling you, I am so humble and I'm teaching you how to be humble. No, because that's me being prideful. That's not what I'm doing up here. What I'm doing up here is I'm revealing to you what the scriptures reveal to me that I'm still crying out for, that I still want to walk into, that every day I have to guard my heart against,
because out of it flows the issues of life, that every day I have to deny myself and look at that cross. This morning, it was such a man, the presence of God was so beautiful. Oh my goodness, I could just cry thinking about it today. That's how it's supposed to be. My husband got up, I was praying over him before he left. It's like four in the morning and he's telling me he misses me. He's gonna miss me. I'm gonna miss him and other thing. I'm just holding him for a little bit because he's living for two days. And then I'm like, you know what? I'm just gonna go pray and go talk to God. I go in the secret place and it was so sweet in there. I was just like, oh, like literally with God, I was just like, we was like, we was here. You know, in his presence, when you feel his presence, that word means face to face. When you're in God's presence, you're face to face with God. So we were face to face and I was getting whacked up. Then I started reading Leviticus 1 for like the 10th time. I don't know why I keep reading Leviticus 1, but I read Leviticus 1 again before I went to sleep, but I read it with commentary this time. So I'm reading it even deeper, but I already read it with commentary, but I guess today he wanted me to read it again. But the part that just blew my mind was that no matter what type of sacrifices they were having, they were bringing to God whether it was from a gold, whether it was from the bird or whether it was from the herd, the same sacrifice ended the same way, a sweet aroma So the Lord. And then it said, [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] or you come to me, when you come to me all open and not divided, it's a sweet aroma to me." 'Cause I was so open, and what stood out to me was the sacrifice of the doves. That's what stood out to me. Because the sacrifice of the doves was the poorest sacrifice you could bring to him. That was the sacrifice that Jesus' parents brought when they presented Jesus to the Father, the doves, and the doves, every moved all the insides of the doves and they threw it away to the left. And it said the reason why they did that
is because everything that was inside the doves that they threw out was what the doves picked up in the world. And then the priest will open up the doves, but it wouldn't break its wings, it would just open it up. You know why? Because God wants you all open. All of that dirt, he wants you to throw it away and come to him open and pure, and ready to receive anything. And that is the sacrifice that is a sweet aroma to him. - This is not like how he would cut it and like cut it open, it's like I literally saw like the Lord on the cross open like this. - Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. So God is telling you, I don't need you to be rich, I don't need you to give me, because if you think about Cain and Abel, Abel gave him what meant so much to him. But he gave it to him sacrificially. Cain did it, Cain gave him his very last. Didn't care, Cain didn't give him the first. God is saying, come to me first, give me all of you first, day and night. And if you come open, remove all the worldly stuff, come to me 'cause I'm a holy God. And you know what's crazy is that they face the north. Every time they made that sacrifice,
it was faced to the north. I think the tabernacle where they did the sacrifices were faced towards the north because that's how, it says, I forget the word that I read, but that's how God faces his people towards the north. And the east is away from him. So they throw it away, I'm sorry, east is this way. They throw it away from him 'cause it's west. I always gotta go north, south, west, east, west. I always gotta do that for me to know. Anywho, they throw it to the east because it's away from God. But what made, what touched me was that those doves were the lowest sacrifice you could bring and they were still sweet aroma to him. And the doves were the ones that his parents gave when they were off, when they were presenting him to the Lord, Mary and Joseph. (chuckling) The Savior. Hmm. God doesn't want you to come thinking like, you're hot stuff and, you know, like, I'm an apostle, I'm a prophet, I do music, or I got three million followers, or 500 something, thousand followers. And it's an honor for God to have me come to him. Trippin', you're buggin'. You're trippin'. It's not sweet to him. It's not, it's not a sweet aroma to him.
It is an honor for you to even know him. First of all, it's an honor for you to even know the Savior. First of all, it's an honor for God to even lead you to the Savior. You can't even meet the Savior without the Father telling you to go meet the Savior. So you better go back to the Father and thank him, because without the Father, you couldn't meet the Savior to bring you back to the Father. Whose honor is it? Really? That will hum, but you will quit. You think you're hot stuff, you're so hot that you can even get to the Father. I'm straight, I'm super straight, I don't know about you. I'm super, super duper straight. Pride is not sin among many. It is the sin God calls an abomination. Proverbs chapter 16 verse five says, "Everyone proud and heart is an abomination to the Lord." Capital L-O-R-D. Whenever you see capital L-O-R-D, that's speaking of the Father. When you see just the L capitalized, and it says, Lord, what a capital L, capital O, capital R, capital D, that is the father. It's speaking of the father. When it's just the L that's capitalized and everything else is lowercase, that's speaking of Jesus. Okay, though they join forces, none will go untanished. That's the whole scripture, Proverbs 65. Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord, though they join forces, none will go unpunished. Scripture reserves the word abomination for the things God finds utterly detestable, and pride of heart is on that list. Why does
God hate it so intensely? Because pride is the one sin that dethrones him in principle. If you have a humble God that had to humble himself to the throne, and then you say that you're prideful, then you're trying to put yourself on that throne. You're trying to dethron the like the Lord. That's why it's detestable to him, and it goes against his holiness. You're saying that you don't have to be humble, that you can be prideful and still be exalted when humility is literally is what God exalted on that throne. So when you have a prideful heart, you're trying to dethron God from his throne. You're going opposite on what's on the throne. Humility is on the throne, and you're saying, I don't want to be humble. I'm going to be prideful, so you're trying to dethron humility from the throne. Every other sin breaks his command. Pride disputes his position. You know what that means? When you dispute something, you go against it. You're opposite of it. So when you're prideful, you're opposite of God's position. You're disputing his position on the throne. You're challenging his throne, which is why you literally war against them. Like you literally fight them because you're trying to take the throne. You're pride is trying to take the throne. Isn't that what Satan did? Then he's trying to take the throne. What happened? He got cast it out. So what do you think is going to happen to you? The same thing. The same thing. There's a pattern. The same thing. The proud heart quietly says, I am the source. I am the reason. I deserve the credit. I do not need to depend. And every one of those statements sits in a seat that belongs to God alone. Is he not the source? Who's the source? Do you believe that? Truly? Sometimes I forget. I just need being honest. I got to look back at the cross to remember that he is the source. That's just me humbly saying that out loud. Sometimes I forget that he is the source. But he is. When I forget that is me being prideful, and then I have to humble myself to the cross just like Jesus did and be dependent of the cross because that is my source. Do you understand why now I say the cross is humility? Right? Is he not the reason? There is no other reason. Is he not the reason? Come on, chat, talk to me because they're not talking to me here. Is he not the reason? Who deserves the credit? You saved yourself? You woke up. I love talking about this. How do you think you woke up this morning? No, you literally think about it. You know scientifically when you breathe you say Yahweh? The Bible says he lent you his breath. So you're not even breathing on your own breath. I love thinking
like that. You're not even breathing on your own breath. You literally went to sleep and someone had to tell you to wake up. You ever thought about that? This morning your spirit heard the Holy Spirit say wake up. [BLANK_AUDIO] Oh, you think you woke up by yourself? Oh. You did it. Who do you think your body's talking like listening to? Who do you think your cells are listening to? Who do you think govern is all of that? You? Who do you think your body's talking about yourself? How about you real quick, real quick? You say thank you, Jesus, real quick. Right? You don't even know what to do with himself. Right here. You call? Because I'm up here burning. How is he going with us? You're wrong. You walk the wrong. It's okay. It's a good thing. All right, let's keep going. I love when God does this to us. Don't you just love when God does this to you guys? Are you good on the chat? You guys are okay? Say thank you, Jesus, on the chat. Hallelujah. All right. Praise the Lord.
Okay. It says, notice also, it says proud in heart. This is not about loud arrogance. God is reading the posture of the inner man. You can be soft spoken and proud in heart, and heaven registers the abomination even when the personality hides it. Example, you have somebody that's very... Thank you. I appreciate it. Oh, you're so kind. But in their heart, they're prideful. They're an abomination. They're just a quiet abomination. A quiet detestable thing to God. Because a lot of us, we think when people are quiet, that means that they're humble. No, that's not what that means. That means they're just soft spoken. That's it. If you think because you speak softly that you're humble, you're probably prideful. I'm just being honest. Pride means that you don't go to God. So you could be soft spoken and don't go to God and you're prideful. Or you could be loud spoken and you go to God and you're real humble. Right? Who does the Scripture say is the most humble person? Well, aside from Jesus. Why do you think Moses? Every single thing. To the point where God had to say, "Why do you keep coming to me?"
And he still went back to him. God's like, "Moses, why do you keep coming to me?" Stretch out your head. And Moses is like, "I'm still going to come to you." I don't know how to stretch out my head. How do I do that? How do I do that? I don't know how to do that. Moses, what's him that said, "God, your people." This are your people. It's not my people. This are your people. Mind you, God used them to leave them out of Egypt. God used you as a moderner Moses to leave people out of Egypt. You're going to start cutting them your people. But Moses went to God and said, "Ah, this is not my people. This is your people. You tell me what to do." God's like, "You ain't seeing everything I just did? You do it." No, no, no, no, no. You do it. That's why he was so humble because he went to God about everything. Every little chance he got, "God, what do you want? God, what do you want? God, what do you want?" We don't do that. I ask the Lord for grace to do that. Every little chance I get, not because I want to be known as being humble, but because I want to know the cross.
I want to be so connected to the cross that I'm so dependent on the cross. That is humility. And you don't have to tell someone you're humble. Only God needs to know that you're humble because you go to him all the time. That's how he knows that you're humble because you go to him about every single thing. Being humble is not a prized possession. Being humble helps you receive the prized possession. Jesus. Right? The Hebrew word is gabbo, gabbo something. I can't even say it. say it. It literally means high Pride is a heart that has raised itself, elevated its own opinion, its own credit, and its own throne. It is the opposite of the lowly heart God dwells with. God measures the altitude of the heart, not the volume of the voice. Section three says, "Pride always announces a fall "before it happens, because the fall is built into it." Proverbs chapter 16, verse 18 says, "Pride goes before destruction "in a haughty spirit before a fall." This verse is not a threat. It is a physics lesson of the spirit. Pride goes before destruction the way lightning goes before thunder. The one always announces, one always announces the other. Why is a fall guaranteed? Because pride builds on a false foundation.
The illusion of self-sufficiency in every false foundation eventually meets a weight it cannot hold. So you don't go to God to build anything. You rely on yourself, you ask yourself for everything. Everything is getting built, and you think that God is leading you, but yet you never go to God. What is going to happen? It's going to fall because it's not standing on a strong foundation. It is standing on a false foundation that you have perceived on your own, that you have created on your own. And whatever man creates, will fall. Whatever God creates will not fall, right? The proud man is not struck down at random. He is standing on something that was never real and reality always arrives. When you're prideful and you build things on your own understanding, you're literally standing on an illusion. It's not there, it's not real. It'll fall. This is actually mercy in disguise. God allows the fall that pride produces because the crash is often the only thing that brings a high heart low enough to be saved. Think about yourself when you were saved.
Didn't you have to be really low to be saved? I know I did. Raise your hand if you had to get really low to be saved. Put a hand emoji in the chat if you had to get low to be saved. You had to be really low to be saved to even see the Savior. Better to fall into humility now than to be carried to pride all the way to destruction. Where is destruction? Where is destruction? Hell, it is better that you, and that's the mercy of God that He will allow you to fall so hard that you meet humility. That humility meets you. What is humility? We are going to talk to me. What is humility? So you have to get low and fall for you to meet the cross. For the cross to meet you. Right? For the Savior to meet you. The Hebrew word is gone. Pride, arrogance, exaltation, swelling. The picture of something puffed up in a rising like swelling waters. So when you're prideful,
it's like a swelling water rising. What's going to happen? Isn't it going to fall? What swells beyond is true size must burst or collapse. The fall is not added to pride as punishment. It is contaminated inside pride as consequence. You ever have like a little, it's going to be really disgusting imagery, but this is how God sees pride. It's detestable to Him anyway, so here we are. You ever have like a bubble, like a wart, and it keeps getting fatter and fatter and fatter. What eventually happens? It starts oozing out, and it pops. That's how pride looks to God. It's disgusting. And then it falls. Right? Hmm. Huh? I'm so sorry. Sorry, Laura. All right. Pride is the oldest sin in existence. We're almost done. You guys good? Did somebody put an alarm to tell me it was 15 minutes?
That was you? That's what you were? Okay. Pride is the oldest sin in existence, and it was born in heaven, not on earth. Oh, that's crazy. No, this is crazy. This is actually crazy because you can't find sickness in heaven, but you can find pride. Pride came from heaven. That's actually crazy. "How you are falling from heaven, "O Lucifer, son of the morning. "How you are cut down to the ground, "you who weaken the nations. "For you have set in your heart. "I will ascend into heaven. "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. "I will also sit on the mount of the congregation "on the farthest sides of the north." "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. "I will be like the most high. "Yet you shall be brought down to shio, "so the lowest deaths of the pit." Lucifer literally said that he would be like the most high. He got so prideful that he really literally tried to dethrone God off of the throne and said he would be like the most high. Before there was a serpent in a garden that was pride in an angel,
count the eye wills. I will ascend. I will exalt. I will sit. I will ascend again. I will be like the most high. Five statements of self-exaltation and the whole rebellion is contained in them. This is why pride is so serious to God. It is the original sin of the universe, the very spirit that turned an anointed cherub into the devil. Pride was found in heaven. Lucifer was literally a cherub, an angel, a cherub, okay? An angel that used to make music for God, the most beautiful angel the scripture says, and then the spirit of pride enters into his heart 'cause he started looking at himself and saying, "I, I, I, I, I." And it caused them to fall into shio. So we have to stop saying, "I, I, I, I, I," and Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord. Even right now in this season, I wanna be so very careful with, "I feel." I wanna be so, I wanna be so careful with that. I don't wanna feel no more. I don't, because when you feel it comes from your heart and the heart is desperately wicked, it wants me dead. I don't wanna feel no more.
No, it's trying to kill me. I'm not receiving grace if I'm feeling all the time 'cause I'm not the one who's gonna give myself grace. God has to give me grace. So that means I have to humble myself and talk to God. So what's humility? Just talk to God. That's, that's simply, that's simply what it is. Pride is when you don't go to God and humility is when you talk to God. For everything, be like Moses. Everybody, what are you waiting for? What is the true reason why you're really saved? Because you know that you've heard that Jesus Christ is coming back and He is the hope of glory. And you're waiting for you to see Him again. Right or wrong? Right or wrong? Isn't that what you're hoping for? Hello, if you didn't know you were gonna see Jesus again, you would be safe? Actually, think about it. I wanna see Jesus again. Like, for real. Like He is the blessed hope. I have hope, what do you have hoping? To do what? How are you gonna see Him? But how do you get to see Him?
I know exactly when He picks you up, when He lifts you up. So you gotta endure it to the end to be what? Saved, hello, so why are you saved? To see Him, duh. To see Him, you wanna see Him? He's the hope of glory. This one's saying meditate on the cross, meditate on all of it. If you are just waiting to see Him, then why does everything else matters? Because all these other things that matters is what causes you to, "I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I." But if you really meditate on why you're saved because you're going to see the Savior one day, "He's the hope of glory," what are you going to say? "You, you, you, you, you, you, you, you." You cross the cross, across, across, across, because that's what helps me see you. Can you just go see Jesus by yourself? Jason. Yeah, I can get you. You got away. You're waiting. What you're waiting for? What you think the people that are dead waiting for? Who do you think they're waiting for? You know, scripture says that the dead, those saved are going to rise up first. The saved are going to rise up first in a glorified body. And they're going to meet you up in heaven and over to God. It says the creation is waiting. If creation is waiting, what do you think you're doing? What do you think you got saved for? For you to be exalted, to be known?
Or you got saved so that one day you can meet your savior. You can see him face to face right now, you know, in part, but when you see him, you're going to know everything. Isn't that what you're waiting for? So why this whole thing matters? Why does it matter? It don't matter. It don't. If you're not in it, I don't want it. If you're not in this marriage, I don't want it. If you're not in this church, I don't want it. If you're not in my life, I don't want the life. If you're not at the altar when I'm worshiping, I don't want to worship in the altar. If you're not standing up here while I'm preaching and I didn't invite you in, I don't want preach. If you're not the one governing the social media platforms, I don't want it. If I'm being called to minister and you're not with me, I don't want it. Because my hope is to see you again. This whole reason why I'm saving the first place is to see you again. It's to be with you. So why am I wasting time figuring the earth and the world out when I'm not wasting, when I'm not spending time getting to know you so that when I see you, I can be like finally the one I longed for because we've been so connected for so long. We've been so close for so long. Now you're here. You're not going to say that about the earth because the earth is actually going to be destroyed by fire. Stop wasting your time trying to get to know the earth and 10. The earth is going to die, it's going to be burnt up. That is the hope that I'm looking toward like literally it gets me excited that I'm going to be sitting face-to-face having like food with the Savior, like I think he's going to have
to tell me, okay, Karnan, you can let me go now because I'm not going to let him go. I'm so serious. I am going to cling on his legs and he's going to have to walk everywhere he goes with me. I don't care. That's how I feel. You need to get to that position. And I'm not saying that is the position or whatever, whatever you want to be. I don't know if you want to be around his neck. I don't know but I want to be grabbing his legs. You know like when a kid is grabbing their parents legs and the parents is walking, that will be me. That is my spot. Do not come for my spot. When I pray, this is how I envision myself with the Lord. I'm griping. I'm gripping. I don't know how to walk. Please walk me. Show me where to go. Yes. He said, just like a clean the ass, he says, useless, useless. Everything is useless. Everything is useless. Yes. Smart little man. Everything is useless. Whatever. Nothing's no one to the sun. The earth is his footstool. What do you think you look like up there?
A little spectacle. Like, just blow you away. I think about stuff like that. I don't be thinking about stuff like that. Where your minds be at? I be thinking about stuff like that. I'm like, man, the earth is your footstool. What I look like? And if I look like that, then what does cancer look like to you? Nothing. What does disease look like to you? Nothing. What does our issues look like to you? Nothing. Say your mind on things above, not things below. Think from above. Almost done, five minutes, Dylan, I'm sorry. (audience laughs) All right. You guys are good, you guys are good, you're good. Before there was a serpent in a garden that was pride in an angel. Count the eye wills, we already said that. This is why pride is so serious to God. It is the original sin of the universe, the very spirit that turned and anointed chair up into the devil. When you and I operate in pride, we're not just having a character flaw, we're speaking Lucifer's native language,
echoing the five eye wills. And notice the trajectory, he said, I will ascend and God said, you shall be brought down. Pride always travels in the exact opposite direction of word aims, it climbs toward a throne and it lands in a pit. The Hebrew word is Allah. A-L-A-H, Allah. (audience speaks in foreign language) (laughs) For my Hebrew Israelites that are probably gonna watch this later on, the Hebrew word is Allah, A-L-A-H. To ascend, to go up, to climb, Lucifer's word is Allah. Mm-hmm. Uh-huh, yep. I will ascend, self ascension is the signature of the satanic God-giving elevation it always received, never seized. Whoever raises himself echoes the fall of the one who tried it first. The Hebrew word is Allah. Now it's just Allah, A-L-A-H, the Hebrew word for ascend and climb, Lucifer's word is Allah. I will ascend. The Muslims are serving pride. Mm-hmm, they're serving pride. Yeah, unfortunately we need to pray for them, that's sad. 'Cause they don't know, they're deceived.
They really are deceived. They really think that this foundation that they're building on is actually true and it's just an illusion. They're standing on nothing. And that's a little scary. Not a little, a lot. So we need to pray for them. Amen. That is part one of God, blesses the humble and oppose the pride. Next week, we will be learning about the pride you cannot see in yourself. That title itself is a little woo-hoo-hoo-hoo. Whoo! The first section says, pride's first and greatest trick is convincing you that you do not have it. So I'm gonna close with that. Make sure you come next week. (audience laughs) No way you can talk about it. He's looking at me like, what did you say? Yeah. All right, let's pray. Let's stand up. You guys good? Alleluia, let's pray. Thank you, Jesus. Father, in the name of Jesus, Lord,
we just thank you, we thank you for your word that never returns void. That does exactly what you sent it to do. Lord, as we are learning about you resisting the pride and Lord God just blessing the humble and giving more grace to the humble, we just ask Lord God that you remind us and you minister to our hearts. Every time our hearts gets puffed up with pride and we forget to go to you about every situation, Lord. Thank you, Lord, that you are creating in us a heart, Lord God that is so, so, so dependent on you, Jesus. That every single question, every single thought, every single thing that we need to do in our lives, that we are dependent on you, we go to you with the humble heart asking you to show us to lead us, to guide us because we truly do not know. You are the blessed hope, Lord. We thank you that we are going to be with you in eternity one day, Lord. And that's what we're looking forward to. That the pride, the lust of this life that allows us to think prideful thoughts, that causes us to just wanna just do things for ourselves or God that we will not stay focused to that, we will not pay attention to that because you are the one that we're looking forward to. We bless you, we love you in Jesus' name. And we say it together, amen. Alleluia.
