Don't Become Familiar With God | Pastor Carlos Cabrera & Pastor Joel Serrano
Make a quick somebody, oh no, y'all sleeping. What did we learn last Tuesday? Somebody, say it again, knowing the voice of God. Thank you, everybody give it a little. (audience applauding) The only one that's not sleeping right now. Wake up guys. So we learned yesterday last Tuesday about hearing the voice of God today. We're going to talk about the thing that kills it, that kills faith, right? Me and Joel are going to lead this. It's going to be powerful. We have the teaching right here in front of us. So there's a difference between a little faith and no faith. And the only one, and only one of them stops God. Matthew 14, 30 to 31 it says, but when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid. And beginning to sing, he cried out saying, "Lord save me," and immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him and said to him, "Oh you of little faith, why did you doubt?" Wow. So before you hear the rebuke, notice the order of the events. He sat, he cried out, and immediately Jesus caught him. And the only, and only then did he say a word about his faith. The correction came from inside the rescue,
with a hand already gripping him. The word is a legal boister. It means little faith. And Jesus uses it four times in Matthew, every time to the disciples, never to unbelievers. Little faith is not condemned faith. Little faith is still the faith that got a fisherman out of a boat and onto the water, which is more than the 11 men still sitting down did. And here's what turned it when he saw the wind. Nothing about the storm changed when Peter stepped out. What changed was when he was looking. Little faith is not a character flaw. To be ashamed of, it is the focus problem. And the lives in the category of what God is working with. So here we have Peter, right? I love that passage in Matthew 14. 'Cause it shows that with little faith, a man can do something no man has ever done. That was Peter when he walked on water. Because of Peter's faith, he became the only man, besides Jesus, to ever walk on water. Because the Lord called him out to do it, right? I think about that sequence. It's like they were on the boat, they're rowing against the winds, right? Jesus said, "Go that way, I'll meet you on the other side." Went up to the mountains to pray and began to roll, right? And now the Bible says, like even before this part, it talks about how the winds began to pick up,
and they were rowing against the winds. And then solely they started to feel like they're gonna perish and then hear, boom, Jesus comes in. At first they didn't even see it was Jesus, they thought it was a ghost. They're like, "It's a ghost." It's a common thing to believe it was a ghost at that time, 'cause there were so many people that would die in the Sea of Galilee. So many people would die. It was like, people heard stories about seeing ghosts all the time. So thinking it was a ghost wasn't even like a funny, like little moment of them thinking, "Ooh, it's a ghost." Like it was legit thought process for them. They heard all the stories as fishermen, they knew people died in here all the time. They're sitting in the middle of the sea with storm, like everybody else that dies in the sea. And then Jesus says, "Do not fear, it is I." And then notice, before this verse, 'cause we only have this part of the verse, but before that verse, then Jesus just says, "It is, do not fear, it is I." And then he asks, "Lord, if it's you," right after he says, "Do not fear, it is I." But Jesus doesn't correct him for having little faith. He encourages him. If it is you, tell me to go when I'll go. Jesus says, "Come."
One word in that little bit of faith had a man do the impossible, which is to walk on water, right? And it was so powerful because then he's walking on water in the middle of the ocean with a storm. And the minute he begins to look at the storm, he begins to sink and lose faith in what God already called him to do. And a lot of people do that, I've done that. Where I begin to like knowing that the Lord has called me into something, knowing that it's something that I know that God wants me to do, lose focus of him and start losing my faith. And that's why a lot of us, right? That's why we have to, it's kind of like it all connects kind of so funny 'cause we have to talk to ourselves. Are you gonna lose focus and love? because you don't know what you're doing, or you're gonna talk to yourself. Like imagine if Peter would've had a quick moment, like this is the Son of God, 'cause at this point, only Peter knew that Jesus was the Son of God. This is the Son of God in front of me, and he's calling me by my name to come out and step onto this water. Let me focus on him, and in his focus, he would've been able to walk all the way across,
but he lost focus. And that's the main thing, it's like it says, it's not a character far, it's a focus problem. How many of us are focused on Jesus? Even during the storms. How about this, even in the middle of a storm, God calls you to do something in the middle of the storm, not when you're resting or in a rest season, or in a glorious season of breakthrough. How about he calls you, 'cause he called Peter in the middle of the storm. Some of y'all be like, "I'm gonna wait 'til I get out the storm to then step out in faith." But God is calling you to step out in faith in the middle of the storm, like he called Peter, yeah. - The Greek word of little faith here is oligopistos, a compound of oligos, little impisty's faith, distazzo, to doubt, literally to stand in two places, to be pulled in two directions at once. To be pulled at two directions at once. All at the same time, in the middle of the storm. So I got a question for every single one of you guys. Y'all ready? I want you guys to be interactive with this question. Y'all ready? Are you condemning yourself for little faith while Jesus is already holding your hand? What did you step out the boat for, and when exactly did you start watching the wind?
Who's gonna answer that question? Mm. - This is so crazy, 'cause I was just talking about this with Beni. But I definitely have been condemning myself for the little faith that I have. And I think something that the Lord is telling me to walk into is like, like you're a daughter. Like, you know, be be authoritative and walk in it. But I'm scared that like, I guess I'll mess up in that, in a way, or like I won't believe in him enough to be able to walk that out. So I think he's like calling me into identity. And I'm just scared like, what if I do this, or what if I do that? And so like, the steepness of like what this walk holds is what's hindering me from like really stepping into it. You know what I mean? - That's good, that's good. Who else? What are the two from you guys and the two from S.O.A.R? Come on. - I guess one thing that I've been condemning myself with a little faith is like sometimes when I go evangelize sometimes, like at school, there's times where I will feel the end about like, how much faith I have, or at least like how faith I am for little things, like if I evangelize to this person, you know, what would be powerful, what evangelize to this person would be powerful or not.
- That's just one of the things I had trouble with with like kidding myself with little faith, even with the small things. - Amen, Leo, amen. And what if I talk, this is the thing I talk to people all the time, little faith is actually very powerful, right? God, Jesus uses the reference of a must-recede and must-recedes are very small, right? And let's talk about it, like what does big faith look like? Somebody answer quickly. What is something that's big faith? Somebody. Yeah, good, yeah, I'll wake. Come on, oh, you wait for the microphone. - Noah, building the art? - Noah's art to build it? - Big faith. - Big faith, okay. Somebody else. Right here in the front. - In my life, I'd say big faith was telling my daughter to move down here and having the faith that I'd be able to, you know, help her. - Amen. Would you guys say that those are big faiths or genuine faith? It's genuine faith, right? 'Cause to build an art, even if you're even if you read it, Noah doubted a lot. And he would go up and down and up and downs
and people calling him crazy for doing it, right? When I think of big faith pastor, I think of like writing an airplane. Writing an airplane. That takes big faith. It's a skydive, right? To get in a car on I-4. That takes big faith, right? You're in a motorized vehicle that's filled with gas on a road with other cars, with other motorized vehicles, driving 70 miles per hour. Not even paying attention on your phone. That takes faith. Tell me not, right? Getting on a metal machine. to another place on the country, right? It sounds crazy when you look at it like that, but that takes big faith, right? Jesus doesn't compliment people for big faith. He compliments them for genuine faith. So for you, Leo, right? Genuine faith, right? So maybe some people might not receive you, Leo, and that's okay, but you're supposed to have faith in what you're telling them because of the testimony that you have. And that's what should, it's the overflow of what God did for you that you wanted to, you want someone else to experience it that should be the fuel for evangelism,
to give God glory for what He did in your life. That's why we make evangelism super simple. It's like, yo, you don't gotta, you can't move in the world of knowledge, healing power. That's great, I love it, I do it. But sometimes it doesn't happen like that, right? But you know what's the ultimate weapon against the devil, your testimony, and somebody else's life, right? 'Cause I can sit there and look at somebody deep into their soul and be 100% convinced of every word that I'm telling them, and their faith, because they have faith in something, and it's not always God, but they're faith in their money, or they're faith in their career, they're faith in their spouse, begins to become founded as I'm telling them about what I believe in because of what I've experienced. And later, you, rather, they sit there and receive a prayer and nod, they go home that night, and they think about it, they're like, "Damn bro, that guy looked me in my soul "and told me about Jesus." And it's like, you know what's crazy? I kind of believe 'em. Because the faith that God gave me, because faith is from God, it begins to just impart on them, because of the testimony of the same, and the blood of the lamb. Does that make sense?
So that's for you, Leo, though. So when you go evangelize, even if they don't receive you, you brush off your feet, and you keep going, and you keep going, you keep evangelizing, even if somebody says, "Oh, Leo, you're weird, "you're like, I'm weird for Jesus," because he's real, and he saved me, and I got a whole community of people that I see every Sunday, and we worship him in spirit and truth, and you be bold about it, and you know what's gonna start happening, Leo? People are gonna start getting convicted, and encountered by Jesus, and they're gonna start coming in you like, "Leo, you were right, you were right." Amen, that's for Leo. Ask that second question for us, or our pastor? - Family, as our family question, are you condemning yourself for little faith while Jesus is already holding your hand? What did you step out of the boat for? And when exactly did you start watching the wind? Come on, we need two people to raise your hand. - Raise your digital hand. - Come on. - And then for the moderators, can y'all post the question in the chat? That'd be cool, 'cause they might forget. Come on, it's a while, raise your hand. We're all gonna wake up in the name of Jesus.
Y'all need to wake up first. Y'all laughing, y'all need to wake up first. Okay, boom, woman and God, what's your name, or what's date you from? Can you hear us? There you go, she got us the meal. - Yes, I'm here. - What's up, woman and God? - Hi, I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. - Hey, amen. - I was on the Bible study last week, and Pastor Joel was on here, we were talking about the vape thing. So, well, I was originally saved back in 2006, but I strayed away. My husband passed away in 2018, and then I was in a car accident, and I actually was clinically dead in the accident. I had like internal bleeding, but this is the only time I've ever heard an audible voice that was not mine, and I'm not like mentally ill or anything. It was God's voice, and then I had no blood pressure, and I had like, there was like a 35-minute ambulance ride to the closest trauma hospital. I was like out in the country, and I watched myself, I watched the medics, like working on me, and at the time, this was three years after my husband passed away, I was living with another man, not my husband.
And so I was living in sin, I was not thinking about Jesus, and I had nothing at all to do with that at all, but for some reason, I used to drive around with a Bible on my passenger seat, because the man I was living with was a taxi driver, and he had been robbed and shot the couple of years before, so he said, oh, you know, it's good protection, you know, he would drive with a Bible on his seat. So I felt like, okay, that'll keep me safe when I'm driving around at night. So for some reason, like, the engine came through, I was in a car accident, and the engine came through the car and like crushed my leg, and anyway, so I had all this internal bleeding, that that could have been God the voice said to me as soon as the accident happened I looked at my leg and I was like very gruesomely crushed and I knew it was broken and I thought to myself I was like 30 seconds from the house and I thought to myself I'll just get out I'm in shock and drag myself home and it was like a very irrational thought and then immediately I heard like this audible voice it reminded me of diversity be still and know that I'm God. Because the voice immediately like interrupted that thought and said don't move stay still and everything will be okay and it made no sense and I just I didn't question it or anything I just like sat there and did nothing and it didn't make any sense because I was like in the dark on this country road there was no lights or anything and like within like 10 seconds some guy came up to my car window and was like do you need me to call 911 and that's how that happened and then like as soon as they put me in the ambulance the last thing I remember anybody saying was I'm not getting a blood pressure and then like after that I remember I see myself from like above my body and for like 35 minutes all the way to the hospital they were panicked I had no blood pressure no pulse nothing and then suddenly they were cutting my clothes off when I was in the surgery and then I woke up like eight hours later they had removed my spleen I had like five blood transfusions they said I was clinically dead and they had to give me all these blood transfusions for the blood loss so anyway and then like couple days later they did the first surgery I ended up with like four surgeries on my leg um they had a rebuild it was like titanium rods and stuff the whole time though even during that whole recovery process six months in a wheelchair and everything never once did I think that might be God I kept thinking oh that's my husband like weird like it was odd until and then the guy that I was living with started saying really wild stuff one day he said he texted this to me we had been fighting really really bad and he said something like I would have been nowhere he said I'm I feel like I'm possessed by a demon and was like really wild and I said you need mental help and if you don't get it I'm leaving you and he refused to do that so I did leave he didn't think I was going to do it so I left to my dad and when I came here I was really lonely I have no friends I had nobody to talk to and suddenly like going through YouTube one day like I ended up finding like this as weird as this might sound at my age I didn't even know there was like church on TV like on YouTube I had no idea like that's how blind I was to Jesus so um and there's spiritually dead in Pittsburgh honestly so like when I saw this church on this like pass around TV like I finally like really got like this relationship like found out who he really was and that was like three years ago so as soon as that happened my daughter started running away and she's ever since then now she's in jail she's 17 and she's getting ready to get out and because she doesn't have her dad my husband he's dead she said when she gets off she's gonna kill herself so I know every time I talk about God she runs away so I know and she has told me that she feels like she's possessed with demons she has like all the tattoos on her face and everything so like now I feel like that's where I have like stepped off like a is that where you're condemning yourself yes yes I feel like I did something wrong how you've been praying for her all the time I've been doing it for like two and a half years now ever since that started with her yes she started running away she was 15 she'll be 18 in November and that's when they're gonna let her out and she said she's gonna kill herself she's either gonna start getting high again and she's afraid she's gonna die that way and if not she's gonna kill herself that's what she told my sister she won't talk to me because I talk about God she's my daughter she's your daughter okay and you feel condemned about that I do I do yeah come on let's play for her what's her name Mia Mia it's actually a feminine I named her that because it's the feminine form of Michael the Archangel spiritual warfare and we're gonna pray for you, 'cause you have a powerful testimony. You've been through a lot, like a lot. But we're gonna pray for Mia, she's not gonna care herself, and she's gonna find Jesus. Amen.
(audience applauding) So come on, y'all, let's pray for her. Let's pray for everybody, just like somebody. Come on, everybody stand up. We're gonna pray for our sister. So Father, right now in the mighty name of Jesus Lord, we pray and we lift up your daughter, Mia. Lord, I thank you, Lord God, that she's not gonna kill herself. I thank you, Father God, that the devil will not have her in the name of Jesus, Lord, I thank you, Father, that she's gonna come to know you, she's gonna have an encounter, God. She's gonna have an encounter, and she's gonna come to repentance, and she's gonna be a disciple. She's your daughter, Father God. And we thank you, Lord Jesus, and we stand on this Lord. We stand on this, and we pray for our sister as well, Lord, that she will not be condemned by those thoughts, Lord, that she's gonna war in the spirit for her daughter. She's gonna stand on truth, and she's gonna continue to pray faithfully until she sees the fruit, Lord God. We thank you, Lord. We thank you, Lord, though. What we ask, we receive if we believe in Jesus' name. Amen, amen, amen. (congregation applauding) Amen.
Next one. Wow, that was powerful. Crazy testimony. All right, we're on moment two. Amen. Man, all right. Unbelief is the only thing scripture records as stopping the hand of Jesus. Mark six, five through six says, now he could do no mighty works there, except that he laid hands on a few sick people, and healed them, and he marveled because of their unbelief. Thus is the son of God in a town full of need was limited. Not by demons, not by Rome, not by the father's will, by Epistia, unbelief, as a great word, and look at what caused it three verses earlier. Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary? It wasn't atheism, it was familiarity. Nazareth knew him too well to receive him. That makes this the most dangerous verse in the Bible for a long time. Long time church member, because you can lose your capacity to receive from God, not by rejecting him, but by getting too used to him. And here is the detail almost nobody notices. The Bible records Jesus marveling exactly twice, once at a Roman soldier's faith, and once at his own hometown's unbelief. And outsiders' faith, and an insider's unbelief, were the only two things that ever astonished God in the flesh.
And it started, it's faith in an outsider's faith. I want you to think about some moments where you thought you knew God was gonna move according to how much you knew of the Bible. (laughs) Think about some of those moments. That's a Nazarene DNA right there. Where you knew him, is this not the carpenter, son? You mistake, they mistaken the carpenter with the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Messiah. Notice they didn't even recognize him as the Messiah there. Right? The carpenter, the most common thing somebody could do, the most common person, because even the name of Jesus was common, so common. So where in your life have you made Jesus common? Right, even, you know what this makes me think of to the Scripture where it says that, where Jacob, where Jacob went to go lay down his head on a stone, and there was a ladder, angels in descending from heaven, on earth and from earth to heaven, and it says that he did not know that the Lord was in that place. How many times have we gotten so familiar with the Lord, and he's moving, and we didn't recognize it was him. And to be honest, where he laid his head was in the wilderness, not at a temple. Work at your house, doing the dishes, taking out the trash, whatever it is, where have you missed the Lord?
Or where have you treated the Lord as common in the name of the Lord as my friend? 'Cause yes, the Bible says in the book of John that the Lord calls you friend. Yeah, he is your friend, right? But then you listen to him and you hear him as such a friend, that you get super familiar with him. That you lose the way behind his word. His words, right? That's where the reverence needs to come back, the fear of God. Because even the paralygic that was, I was talking about this and the revival team meter pastor, how this man has been trying to get to the fountain for over 30 years. And Jesus, he put dope on him, he didn't greet him. He didn't say, "Hey, what's up, man, my name is Jesus." He says, "Do you want to get healed? "Do you want to be healed?" And then he tried to give him an answer in beating around the bush, "Ah, you know, I've been trying to do this." He said, "I didn't ask you that. "Do you want to be healed?" He said, "Yeah." So that means he saw something common, but based off the question that was asked, he said, "This question ain't common." So the Lord is calling every single one of us to uncommon places so we can trust them,
so we can see the divinity that he actually carries. His lordship for real, and when the paralygic did that, when he recognized in his mind and his heart, his whole entire being, that's when he received the pick up your mat and walk. And that's when his whole entire destiny changed. He was able to be propelled forward, meaning prosper. The Lord wants us to prosper. We think prosperity is financial freedom. A house in this, like Pastor Richard was just preaching, prosperity is your soul being empowered by God. That's prosperity. Prosperity is when you walk into a room, you recognize the Lord. That's prosperity where you don't miss the angels ascending and descending who were commanded by God himself, where we don't miss those things. That's prosperity. - That's so good. You had a question? - I feel like I had a moment with, I had to encounter God in something, because, for example, one of the issues I had here, I wasn't close to my mom. And then I had put my guard down, I started texting her to calling her, tell her what's going on. And on the way she came pick me up from was that, and she took me to a different location.
And then the whole entire time, she's like, what does God, you keep going to church, you keep talking about Christ, you keep reading the Bible, you keep doing these Bible studies, but what is God doing in your life right now? Why are you keep doing this? It's not helping you financially, it's not helping you, like why? And I had told I was like respectfully, Mom, I don't need to hear it. And I put on my earpods. And then like, five minutes later, I heard the Lord tell me no grace, express yourself, like, tell her what God has done in your life that, you know, and she completely hit a hard stop with an eye drive, and she completely hit a hard stop, and she started crying. And then she was like, maybe Sunday, I need to go to church with you, maybe I need this leadership, like, and it took you to mate, to like, make me feel like it's not, I completely took over the wheel, like I gave her her her mom, I got you, like, don't worry, like, Christians are not perfect, I'm not perfect. It's, if it took me, I'll keep leading on the family, whether y'all like it or not.
God is always gonna be here for me, and that's gonna be my foundation of all. But yeah. - Amen, amen. Your faith was able to give your mom faith. Wow, that's powerful. So let's look at the Greek. A pastilla, it means unbelief, faithlessness, distinct from olepo, olepo, what's it again? - Olego bestilla. - Olego bestilla, which means little faith. It is not a weak grip. And then there is [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] Thank you, Pastor. To marvel or to be astonished. So I want to ask you guys a question. Where has familiarity dulled you? Let's stop right there. Where has familiarity dulled you? Somebody over here. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] Yeah, so it's so funny you say that because it's that work. And it's kind of crazy because I just got a dream last night where I had seen my job. I had seen on my job like rich. He walked in, and then I look in the corner, and Benji's working out on a yoga mat. And then Carlos is on a stretch partner. I'm like, Lord, why are these people in my dream right now?
But the Lord was showing me like-- That might just happen too. Yeah, I was like, what? But then he was showing me kind of like last Sunday's worship, like Jehovah Aurora. He's the guy who sees. He doesn't only see everything you do, but he sees what's going on, and he's like, he's there. He's not just at the front desk with me or wherever I'm at, because I have the enjoyment of the Holy Spirit. But he's in the rooms. He's in the exams. He's in wherever they're adjusting the patience. He's everywhere throughout that job. And it's like, it was now hearing this, showing me that I've become familiar. I've become too overwhelmed with what I'm doing, to where it's led me to not acknowledge him as much, because familiarity leads to a lack of acknowledgment, which then leads to a lack of experience, or a lack of actually understanding that he's there. That's so good. That is so good. Anybody else? That's so good right there. That's so good. - Hey, with raising my siblings. So they're here full time now. And it got to a point where I was like, okay, I'm just gonna let them do whatever they want,
but God's like, no, I want you to teach them. So with teaching them and stuff. So I got familiar with them just being there, and God's like, no, you're raising them in the way that they should go. So now, this morning, we pray and stuff, but we went deeper, and it was just fun, like teaching them stuff. - Amen. - Amen. - Amen, amen. - Real quick, I want us to actually answer the questions. Where has familiarity doled you? You know what that word doled mean? You ever seen a knife that you're trying to cut, and it can't cut anything? And it has no like sharpness to it. That's what that means. Where have you been doled? - For me, I'd say it's in my family. You know, I go out and evangelize, and I'm constantly every day doing something to try and reach the lost, especially the addicts that I have around me that I'm good friends with. And they constantly throw in my face that, you know, I'm not this, and I'm not that. But what they forget is that I'm a child of God, and I'm called for this. So I don't let it bother me, but it definitely
makes me question whether or not I'm good enough in the moment, so. - Amen. There we go. It's okay, they can hold it. You guys can let them hold it, please. - For me, I think it's a lot of like growing up in church and just like familiarity about being around the environment. Like even now, I feel like I've been asking myself the question of like even in worship sometimes, like you just kind of like, it's just sing songs, like it's just like familiarity and singing, or just like the environments, like you get so familiar with the environments, and even like in quiet time too, like you're kind of just like coasting through 'cause it's just like what you've always done. And God is like in this season really challenging me 'cause like the churches I've been to before, like growing up is kind of just like just show up and do it. But like here, it's like a different, like it's a different environment for sure. And like God is inviting me into like kind of coming out of religion, coming out of like just doing things just because that's what we do, to actually experiencing him. And it's challenging me in a lot of ways too 'cause like what has dulled me is like I don't really, like I didn't really do a lot of evangelizing or like getting out of my comfort zone
to go do things that God is asking me to do. And so like waking up from just like the lullaby of like Christianity and kind of just like walking the things that God is actually asking me to do. - Amen. I feel like you guys are being dull right now. I think all of you guys are being dull right now. I think all of you guys are being familiar right now - Like, did we drive out to the church to just sit here in silence and be all weird? No, right? When Pastor Joel speaks, I look at him intentionally and I'm receiving everything he says because I honor him and he's a pastor of the church. Y'all need to wake up. Come on, stand up. Everybody, let's stand up. Stand up. We're gonna scream Jesus as loud as we possibly can. And I need like a 10 out of 10. And if I feel like it's like a seven, we're gonna do it again, okay? Y'all ready? On the count of three, we're gonna scream Jesus. And if you're on SOR, if you're falling asleep, I need you to get up. I need you to scream Jesus as loud as you possibly can on the count of three, okay? - Turn that camera on. - 'Cause we're not gonna get familiar in here.
We're not gonna be here like just waiting for us to finish. Like, I don't, I hate that. I would feel like it's, I don't care. Like to be honest, I could just go home on my sleep but you're just respecting God right now. Does that make sense? Because we're here for God. We're reading His word. But then everybody's like, like this. I don't get it. We just got out of the church and to the day. But come on, man. Come on. Ready? On the count of three, Jesus as loud as you possibly can. I need a 10 out of 10. Okay, Haley? Ready? One, two, three. - Three. (crowd cheering) - Hey, that was like a nine out of 10. It was like, what'd you think? Like a nine out of 10? We're gonna do it again. As loud as you possibly can. I do this to my wife pastor. It's mad funny. As loud as you possibly can at the top of your lungs, baby.
- Hey, that's going in my pocket. - One, two, three. - Three. (crowd cheering) - Hey man, hey man. Come on, get Jesus some glory in the house. Come on. (crowd cheering) - All right, y'all gotta sit down. - May we not be like Nazareth? - No. Missed your encounter, man. - May we be like Peter and that boat? Lord, call me to deeper waters. - Man. I tell my wife to do that though. I be like, babe, you need to say Jesus as long as you can right now. She looks to me crazy. I'm like, you gotta do it. (crowd laughing) (laughing) - Okay, all right. Wait, no, I gotta go back. All right, we gotta talk to S.O.R. - Where has familiarity told you? - Okay, so S.O.R., y'all listening? Y'all good, give me a fire emoji if you're listening. Right now, if you tapped in, if you locked in, I need some fire emojis in the chat.
Come on, spam fire emojis. There we go. There we go, okay. So is there a place in your life where you have been quietly, where you have quietly stopped expecting God to move because you have been there before? I'm gonna say it again. Is there a place in your life where you have quietly stopped expecting God to move because you have been there before? Raise your hand, raise your digital hands if you wanna respond. We're gonna pick two. Don't take a long time. Nice short answers, guys. Come on, raise your digital hand, come on. I don't know where to go. There you go. - Hi, can you hear me? - Yes. - How you doing? - What's your name and where you from? - My name is Miracol and I'm from Georgia. - What's up, Miracol? - I have one area that I believe I've gotten really dull in is just my sleep, my rest. There was a period in my life where I was looking forward to spending time and worshiping God in my sleep
'cause he won't stop the dreams I dream so much. And in there, I would get a lot of directions and structures and sometimes encouragement, but I got so familiar, I stopped stewing them and it's not the same. I love my familiarity with him to make me lose trust also. So I feel like my heart is also a bit dull towards him in that area. - Yeah, unfortunately, I'm hoping for it to get better, but. - Amen, and today it stops. In the name of Jesus, it's gonna stop and you're gonna, every time you've got an opportunity to go worship and praise the king, you're gonna be excited about it and expecting him to show up. Amen? - Amen. - Amen, okay, other one, other hand raise right there. That's powerful, thank you so much. - Amen. Tell us your name and where you're from. - My name is Deniah and I'm from Pekingumus City. (laughing) - Hey. I'm sorry, that's my son. One area I feel like I've been in Dolan is my marriage. I like, I seen God move real powerful in my marriage. But as the sister said before, I stopped stewing it. I stopped being a good steward of it. I'm not just having really been serving my husband
in a way that I should. And also being scared to really share the gospel around him and stuff like that, because my husband, he's kind of rocky right now. That's what I've been praying for. But just not being a good steward of that, that I've just been letting that die out. - Amen. Let me ask you a question. Have you been just praying about it, or have you been going to war for your husband? - I just. - Oh, oh, the devil a lot. What the heck? Damn, she might've got a word. She left, it's okay. If you see her, if you see her come back, just let us know. Yeah, so in her situation, she needs to go to war for her husband. 'Cause kind of praying about it is kind of passive, right? Like, no, like, you gotta go to war. Go to war, and that goes for anybody. No coming back, it's okay. All right, we'll keep going. If she comes back, just let us know. Like production team or something. Okay, so unbelief is not an intelligence problem. Scripture calls it a heart condition. Can I say that again?
Unbelief is not an intelligence problem. Scripture calls it a heart condition. Hebrews three, verse 12 to 19. Y'all ready? Everybody say beware. Says beware, brethren, just that word. It's okay. I love the zealot though, come on. Beware, brethren, let's there be. In any of you, an evil heart of unbelief. Says evil, heart of unbelief. Unbelief is evil. In the parting, all right. An evil heart of unbelief. In the parting from the living God. So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Wow, that's crazy, bro, an evil heart of unbelief. You know who they are? She's back. Woman of God, for Mississippi. Praise the Lord, hey, the devil's a liar. We didn't let him. Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry I didn't have a last call. Are you just kind of praying about your husband or are you going to war for your husband? I was going to war, but lately, yeah, I just been like coasting this party. You're just kind of praying about it. Okay, well, this is good because you're being real, but this is the moment where you turn it back on,
going to war for your husband. This is an opportunity for God to be glorified in your life, woman of God. This is an opportunity for God to get the glory. You sit there, you pray, you do everything you're supposed to do as a wife, but behind closed door, you are going to war for that man. No matter what he does, and I guarantee you that he's going to get encountered by God, and it's going to be a testimony, and God's going to get the glory. He's going to get the glory. A lot of times when we pray and we don't see something move and we pray, we pray, nothing happens, nothing happens just because low-key, we were trying to do it in our own strength, right? But then when you have the heart posture that God get glory in this, God you get the glory. I'm going to pray, use me to pray, but you get the glory, Jesus, and you persist, and you believe that when you pray, you will receive what you're praying for because your heavenly father is a good father that gives good gifts to his children, especially salvation to a spouse, then he answers, and when he answers, you give him the glory. You give him the glory, amen? What's his name?
- His name is Brian. - Brian? - Yes, yes, sir. - Brian, come on, let's pray for Brian, y'all. We're going to pray for Brian. So Father, right now, in the mighty name of Jesus, we thank you for Brian. Father, we thank you that that is your son. God, we thank you that you are going to get the glory in this marriage. Let no man separate where you have brought together King Jesus. Thank you that this marriage will glorify you. Thank you that those children will be raised by you, Lord Jesus, in a house where they will not stray from the way, Father God. I thank you, Lord Jesus, that their generation will be blessed, Lord God, and that the enemy gets angry every time she prays, but she's going to pray louder. She's going to command thee over her husband. She's going to speak life over her husband in the mighty name of Jesus. She's going to go to war against anything, trying to pull her husband away from you, Jesus. We thank you, Lord, that you are a good father that gives good gifts to his children. We love you, we thank you, we praise you in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
He's going to get saved. I promise you, he's going to get saved. And God is going to get the glory, woman of God. Don't forget to give God the glory when it happens. In Jesus' name, amen, amen. Okay. So, the writer does not call unbelief a weakness or an unfortunate season. He calls it evil, paneeros, actively malignant, hmm, somebody look up that word malignant. I want to know what that means. And he locates it in the heart, not in the head. And the case study he is preaching from is Israel at the edge of the promise. That generation watched the sea split, they ate bread that fell out of the sky every morning for years, they still could not enter. Which kills the excuse most of us have been leaning on. Miracles do not cure unbelief, let me say it again. Miracles do not cure unbelief. If seen were enough, Kadesh would have gone differently. Now look at the verse 13 for the mechanism, hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. The word is scalarono, to dry out and stiffen. It is the root behind our medical word scoliosis. The clarifying of softening tissue, no, no, the calcifying of softening tissue, sorry. What is what unbelief actually is in most believers? It is not an intellectual objection, it is a calcified disappointment. Something happening, you did not get an answer and the heart quietly hardened about it. Man, that is so good. So here, man, the book of Hebrews is so good, I love the book of Hebrews. And here it is talking about, the verse is talking about the evil heart of unbelief. The parting from living for God, and that is because of that, they did not enter. So the Israelites did not enter the promised land simply because they had unbelief. And I think about it in real time, I think about myself, when I was in the world.
I knew God was real, I knew fundamentals of Christianity, I guess. And I would always be this one person to be like, "God, give me a sign." I'm smoking weed, I'm out here, I'm bugging, I'm doing bad stuff, but then in the midst of it, my heart, I had like a good heart, right? And I would be like, "God, you know what? Show me a sign." And you know what would happen? God would show me signs. God would show me signs, like I had just had like the encounter with the enemy and then I was literally starting to backslide away from the Lord and I went to the gas station one time. And I went to the gas station to go cop like blunts or something, to smoke weed. When a dude was driving by, he slammed on his brakes, he looked at me and said, "What are you doing?" Like that, like that, like, "What are you doing? You're not supposed to be here." And then drove off. I'm dead serious, y'all laugh, but I'm so serious. That was God, that was Yahweh, that I am, like, that I am that I am making himself manifest in real time. You know what I did? I was sitting there and bought boots anyways, right? So what does that tell you? And it's not a miracle issue, it's not a God issue, it was a me thing. I didn't want to believe, I intentions, like, "Man, that was crazy," and just kept going. That's what unbelief is. And people think that I doubt, or to be honest, we got to get to the root of this doubt. To be honest, you got to go to war with your doubt and you got to start, and that's why man, that's why man, like, Oli goes, "It's so prophetic. You got to look at yourself in the mirror.
Do I really love God? Or is there some kind of selfish ambition in me that's trying to pull me away from it, and I'm calling it unbelief. And I'm labeling it unbelief. It's evil in the heart, man. Hebrews 312, "Beware, brethren, lest there be any of you an evil heart of unbelief." And what does that evil heart produce? To end up parting from the living God. It's real, right? It's real because when Jesus was talking to Peter, when they were on the thing, he had little faith. And that's okay because he had genuine faith, but it just wasn't, it hasn't grown. That's something that you got to nurture and kind of commit on to the Lord and just continue to seek Him and He'll continue to increase you in faith. But unbelief is different, unbelief is evil, unbelief is like, "Yeah, I know, but I still that you refuse to submit to the Lord. Because think about it, they all of these Israelites that were walking around in circles in the wilderness for 40 years with a pillar of fire at night and a cloud that covered them from the sun during the day and mana that fell from heaven. And you know what they told Moses? They're like, we're tired of eating this mana. We want something else. And walking in circles, getting bit by snakes on their ankles because of their murmuring, because of their heart. It was their heart. You got us like, "Brah just freed you from Egypt and you want to go back." So that shows that they had an Egypt mentality.
They had a heart that was pulled by that. They were like, "Man, you should have just..." They literally told Moses, "Go read it. Go read Exodus. It's so good." They were like, "Why'd you bring us out here to die? Take us back." What? He just, God just parted the recipes and walked them through it. And they wanted to go back. So it's not a God thing, it's a us thing, right? These people wanted more signs. And Jesus says that too in the book of Matthew. He says, "You guys want signs all the time. You guys are a wicked generation. You're not going to get no more signs." Except for the one that happened to Jonah, right, which is the resurrection. But it's because they're like, "Man, you know it's crazy. Thank you, Holy Spirit." I was reading John 6 yesterday, Pastor. And it was the... Jesus had just fed the 5,000. He sent his disciples across the sea. He went up to the mountain, met him on the other side. People were looking for Jesus so desperately. They're like, "Where is he? Where is he? They got on boats. They crossed the sea too, met him on the other side." And then they were like, "Oh, there he is. Jesus, do works for us.
What works must we do to something like that?" And then Jesus was like, "What are you talking about?" He's like, "We want eternal life. Do a sign for us." And Jesus was like, "Your ancestors ate bread, but it wasn't the true bread. I'm the true bread." And then that's in that moment where he says, "You must eat of my flesh and drink of my blood if you truly want to inherit eternal life." And they got offended. They got offended and left. All those people, all those multitudes, chasing Jesus, look for Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. And then they crossed the sea looking for him. They get on boats. I can imagine all of them on a little boat just crossing, looking for Jesus for the signs and the wonders. And then Jesus turns around and says to them, "You have to eat of my flesh and drink of my blood." And they're like, "Huh, what? That's crazy, huh, huh, left them." So what's their issue? They didn't want to, they had unbelief because what? They didn't want to surrender. They just wanted the miracles. They just wanted the benefits. They just wanted the healing. They wanted the miracle. They want the marriage.
They want the prosperity. They want the job. They want the car. They want the kid. But they didn't want Jesus. Because when you study that verse, you see that he's not telling you to be accountable. He's telling you to partake in him, to consume him. For him to become a part of you and you to become a part of him. Like when you eat something, it becomes a part of you. He's inviting you into fellowship to be a person. So he can become a part of you. But they didn't want to be a part of Jesus. They just wanted his hands. They didn't want his face. Isn't that crazy? Isn't that crazy? Boy, it rags me. Guess. But it kind of makes me think about like in the wording in today's day, some people be like, because then they didn't have Mark chapter 16. So what I think about in today's day is like, I want to be the hands and feet of Jesus, rather than to be the heart of Jesus. The heart of Jesus was, I am eternal life. What you just said, everything that you were saying was literally like, I was seeing it in that manner. Like what are people saying in today's day? Because there's nothing new under the sun. So there is a new way of saying it, but the same concept,
the same heart, the same unbelief. So I'm just, I was just thinking that that's the first thing that just crossed my mind. Show us a sign, I'll be the hands and feet of Jesus. All right, man. It's like they want to cast out devils and draw the crowds in with miracles, but then they don't want to watch feet. You got the hands and feet of Jesus and then the heart of Jesus. And also like what I think about that too is that they don't want to get their hair dirty, wiping the feet of Christ. Like that they proclaim. I am unashamed but in the heart there's unbelief Because all of the disciples when in the anointing Like they they were all like they all the Bible says I think it was in Matthew. It's like 27 It says that they all were like they all collectively believed that it was a bad idea What she did a bad thing that she did and Jesus had a corrective and said no, this is a good thing that she does And he says that there is gonna be every time the gospel is preached She will be honored in heaven because of what she did That's so deep Okay, this is a great heart check, bro for real. All right Appister unbelief Paneros Evil malignant ah act washes actively harmful Sclaruna I says to harden dry out and calcify man Alright a Question for the room and I want I want us to meditate the room I want us to really meditate and I want I want to see new hands As the colors I feel like calling on just folks. We're gonna call on y'all no hands so we can We can call you to deeper waters Not not not to not to just throw you out there to call you the deeper waters Where has a disappointment oof?
Where has a disappointment with God has quietly harden you into a policy? Policy Policy it's for policy Jaylin come on One more time please what was the question? Where has a disappointment with God that's all I got Open your ears where has a disappointment with God has quiet quietly harden your heart um I'll say like in the area with my finances And he was even telling me that like during worship that like it was hard to Experience him like the way I wanted to because of my heart was like a little hardened and it was because of like that area So what's what what that's real and I think you're for sharing that there's a lot of people like that Yeah, you're not the only one So what is the truth? the truth is that He's Jehovah Jaira. He's my provider and that I Sean not one or like but I have to do my part and trust in him in that area Why do you not trust him? Cuz it's easy right it's easy to hit the gyro bar right it's easy. It's good. It's right. You're right, but then why? Why to go deeper? Let's go to the root. Yeah, but why why did you know? You had you just quoted scripture and you just gave me a name of God So then why why even after knowing that and that you still don't let it go I'll say lack of faith like I could be like lacking faith just a little bit because of the waiting And have you also been actively doing your part? Yeah, I work at hard budgeting giving yeah Okay, so then if you've been giving you've been working hard you've been diligent So then it's deeper than Right because this this is those little surface stuff as goes to the heart That's the conversation. You got to have a God. You got to sit in his presence and be like, okay God I give I'm working hard. I got a budget your word says this your name is this, but why do I still doubt? Because now it's a it's a heart thing. It's a heart issue, right?
And trust me, it's it's it's common like I said, we're just getting on you in it because we called you but You have like what you're saying is a lot of people in this room going through the same thing. Yeah same thing Maybe you got to go to war about it. I think that's the answer to every question. Yeah, you got to go to war about it Claiming command the door to open Take it back by force I just want to explain real quick on on on like these questions too is that sometimes we don't want to think Eve like, you know, Shane and we want to cover up. So like we kind of forget that God knows everything including the feelings and the thoughts that are running through your hearts and conversations that you're having with yourself that you want to that you think that those fig leaves are going to cover the sovereignty of God, right? So I, you know, learn how to be, you know, vulnerable even, you know, at anywhere you go. That make sense? So good. I wanted to add to that real quick guys, I'm so sorry. I was explaining this to my wife, right, we were driving and I was explaining to my wife about faith and how to increase in faith and just asking me just questions about faith. And then somehow, some way the conversation came to like, Exodus 3.14, when God tells Moses, I am that I am, right? And I started explaining that, right? I am that I am because it's a metaphysical statement. It's a much broader statement and it's so simple than I am who I am, right? It's deeper than that. And I was explaining to my wife that God is saying here that he doesn't exist. He is existence, right? And like that he doesn't just love, but he embodies love. He is love, that's who he is, right? He doesn't depend on anything to be. I am. Does that make sense?
So I'm trying to explain this to my wife and she's like, it's like, it's breaking something off of her because sometimes we put God in a throne in heaven, but what if I told you he's bigger than that? Sometimes we put God in a throne in heaven, like he's just this big dude just sitting on the chair with a crown on his head, but he's bigger than that. And sometimes we attach our limitations to this God on a throne in heaven. And we start looking at him through the lens of our own limitations, right? But I'm like, hey, but he just said that he is existence, that we need, like fish need water to live, animals need food, we need air and oxygen and sunlight, but he doesn't need anything. He's, he's independent, he's self-dependent, he doesn't need anything to exist, but then we put our limitations on the God that is when he says that I am and it will, like it breaks that like, because like, man, we look at God in a limited way and that's probably like, Jayla kind of follows what you're saying because sometimes we're like, oh, maybe God, maybe if I, am I obedient enough, you're going to bless me financially, but he's telling you, Jaylee, I am, I am. When they ask about who I am, when the devil's in your ear talking about it, he's not going to come for you yet. I'm like, yo, God is I am, the great I am, I am that I am, he is because he is. You can't, like, but that mentality, that breaks that whole, like, oh, maybe he can't come through for me in this area, like, no, God, you, everything around me, you are. You shine the light on these, on everything, you feed everything, everything exists because of you. He can't handle your financial problem. He can, but you got to see him as the I am. Does that make sense? He is. I am that I am. Like, whoa, like, we read I am that I am, it's very short, but Moses wasn't, that wasn't a short sentence for Moses.
He had to explain to Pharaoh how God is self-existing. That's, that's powerful, amen, where has a disappointment with God has quietly hardened your heart? Come on, Jameson, that's what I am talking about. I am talking about Jameson raising his hand. Amen, so I will say for me, like, I almost want to say evangelism, but really is speaking of faith into my family because my family is already saved. Like, I grew up in church, like, all my family is saved, but they deal with unbelief. So, like, my father has Parkinson's disease, so he deals with a lot of, like, anxiety and a lot of, a lot of issues of, like, basically, the enemy attacks his mind that he's going to die. So, like, I had a lot of conversations and, like, with my father and my mom, so my mom worked in, like, the medical field, like, my whole life, so she always feels like there's a medical solution for the issue, so she'll try to treat it with very carnal things and, like, try to find anything that she can to, like, treat his condition. And so, I try to speak faith into my dad a lot and in the moment he'll receive it and, like, it'll be a powerful, like, and I'll, like, pray over him, like, he'll be receiving it and, like, crying and thanking me for praying for him, but then, like, it'll be, like, the next time I see him, it's, everything is the same. that I was trying to pour into him. It was like, he received it in the moment and then it all left once I left. And it's like, 'cause his condition was continually getting worse. And like my mom would tell me about it but kinda like try to sweep it under the rug. And so, I kinda hearted my heart to it. And I kinda got frustrated and got mad and was like, "I feel like I'm doing everything I can do." And can we stop right there real quick, can I answer it?
Did you get frustrated and got mad or did you just get frustrated and get mad with God? - So, because I frustrated, got frustrated with him and got mad at him and hearted my heart to the issue, it hearted my heart to God a little bit on that issue 'cause I felt like he's not receiving it. So it hearted my heart to God's where I kinda washed my hands of it. I'm not even gonna say nothing to him anymore. Like I literally stopped praying for him. I don't want him to die at all, I love my dad. But like it hearted my heart to God to the point where I just even stopped praying for my dad on a consistent basis to not even try to water without the faith I was trying to pour into him. So just as you were saying that, in my mind, I'm saying I hearted my heart to the situation and my heart is saying I hearted my heart to God. - Amen. And heartening your heart to God is literally what Pastor Carlos just said. You putting that limitation because of your works. I've been doing this, I've been doing that and it is getting worse and this and that and all these things are trying to figure it out rather than seeing it as speaking life into my dad. I'm sharing the word of God to my dad and when I leave, it just gets worse and but you're a farmer, you're a farmer. Does that make sense?
A farmer, when he leaves the seas, they stay. What if, yes, everybody could be saved, but what if God is using you? What if, let's just think of what if. What if those seas are being watered because of his meditation, because of how the Holy Spirit moved through you when you had that conversation, but yet you can't see it? What if those seas right now are still in his heart? What if right now, the Holy Spirit, he's in the presence of God and he's experiencing the Holy Spirit, just what if, just what if? And then not only that on top of that, you're in your prayer closet with the Father, one on one, because those who diligently seek him, he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him right in private, so if you are not only just plowing, but also with the Father who brings forth life, keeps watering those seas. What if you're the only one right now in the whole entire family who's speaking life and is contradicting everything that his whole entire family is saying? So you're seeing it as this, like, man, it's not working, what I'm telling you, it's war. You're going to war within your own camp, bringing the kingdom as the kingdom is within. So don't lose heart, don't lose faith in God, lose all faith in your works, lose all faith, lose all faith in your works.
How can I back this up? According to scripture, what does God say according to your good works? They're like filthy rags. Do you know the Hebrew word of filthy rags? Menstrual cycle, like a woman's menstrual cycle? That's how God sees it, your good works. Like a woman's menstrual cycle, bro. That's tough, right? So now your faith in him, you move in faith because of him, because of what he says. And according to his word, we'll never return back void to him. So are you doing it because you're in fear that your dad might pass away? Are you doing it because of obedience to God? Or because your works might save him? Your minister might save him, might heal him, might touch him. Does that make sense? Amen, yes. So right now I want you to stand up. I want you to say this, say Jesus. my heart towards you. Get in angry, get in angry, and frustrated at you. You're the only one that can heal him. Not my ministering, not my ministering, not the amount of faith I can impart in him. I release it to you, Lord. Control all in your hands, Father. I'm just going to move in obedience and faith in you." Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you, Pastor. SOR. All right, two people from SOR. I got a question. Come on. Look, the next question is, what did you decide about God in a season of pain that you have never gone back and revisited? I'm going to say that again. I'm going to ask that question again. What did you decide about God in a season of pain that you have never gone back and revisited? Come on. Who's going to raise their hand and answer that? That's tough. This is good.
Deeply waters. Come on. SOR. All right. Come on. Jennifer, what's up? What did you decide about God in a season of pain and you have never gone back? He is real and his presence is tangible. Even if, like for me at least, I wasn't even really, okay, like my favorite verse. I didn't even know really like a lot of scripture at first, but the verse that I like best is John 644. Whenever I learned like it made me like cry all over like that page, something along the lines out, Jesus is saying like, no one comes to the father, comes to me unless the father draws them to me. So like that was when I learned that like God had like rescued because I could think of like why was I saved from that accident and my husband was allowed to die and my kids don't have a father. So then I'm sitting here, you know, and I'm like greeting and my leg was all swollen. I had like elevated on this pillow and like I believe description, I'm thinking to myself like what is my purpose for like like being alive. And then I, you know, running that and thinking to myself like, oh, like he like pulled me like literally from like the gates of hell. So the real quick Jennifer, the question is what did you decide about God? I just, I learned that he chooses people. He, you know, he chooses us and he pulls us from like hell. He like will come and save us whenever we don't even seeking him. Okay. So, so in the moment of pain, you decided that God was a savior. Yes. Yes. Amen. So you came into agreement with his word. Absolutely. Okay. Amen. Amen. All right. Alexis, what did you decide about God in a season of pain that you have never gone back and revisited? It's talking about a moment that you just like, for example, like our brother, Jameson, he washed his hands and just gave up and was like, you know what? Whatever. He got mad and then freshered with God about the healing about his father and all that stuff. And he just, you hit it in your heart against God, which amen. That's real. Come on, crystal, right? That no, Alexis. Alexis, what's up? Talk to me. Hi. Hi. So a moment that I chose to never, you know, go back was in the moment of my relationship. And it was very beautiful. And I just feel like he brought me out of that because I was just calling on him and seeking him through it all and not turning to anything, you know, of the world, which I knew the enemy wanted me to. So I guess like that relationship, I got out of it and I never looked back on it because I knew the Lord was pulling me out of it. You said abusive? Yeah. Okay. So you never revisit it that...
in that moment uh... what i decided about that is to it change my life for him to live for him because he's going out of such a dark place you know so it's just to turn our whole life around for him to live for him yeah so that so so so it's just the question he's going to do this for you know what what we're saying to me is that you're coming into agreement with god says right who got is what i'm saying is what did you decide in your heart in a season of pain that you never went back to it because you you you just made your mind about god like you didn't want to hear about him or like again i get i gave the example of of james and right so what did you decide about god in that in that situation not relying on myself like to rely on him and to not rely on like say like drugs and alcohol in like a man but just to rely on jesus amen amen okay let's go into let's keep going with the teaching already
y'all ready alright fear is not the opposite of faith by accident they run on the same engine fear is not the opposite of faith by accident they run on the same engine mark four forty says but he said to them why are you so fearful how is it that you have no faith jesus puss fear and faith in the same breath as if the second explains the first because it does both of them take something you cannot see yet and treated treated as settled both project a future and then live as though it already happened that is why fear feels so much like conviction it is faith fully operational pointed at the enemy's report instead of gods fear is not the absence of belief it is belief in the wrong report now watch the whole scene they woke him up with teacher do you not care that we are perishing fear always ends up accusing god of indifference
fear always ends up accusing god of indifference and jesus rebuked the wind then turned and questioned them the men he settled the storm outside in a sentence but he was but he was after the storm inside what do i think about that talk to us responds you're sleeping are you guys convicted are you feeling empowered or casual nonchalant because this is how the disciples were at the boat does that make sense their response to god was in fear rather than faith and trust but look at what jesus he still did he still did he still rebuked the whole entire storm and going back to them and addressing their fear to their face how many times i've got moved in our life and says i told you i am who i say i am so why can't you just trust have faith and believe in me when i'm showing you
when you're seeking him how much does your faith increase right but then why does that same faith that you receive from god decrease when you face various trials and tribulations and then i said it was a place of like i was exactly what that you're talking about it's like i was fearful in a place of what like jaylin was talking about my finances and it felt like god was indifferent about it like you were talking about then i'm like okay well i have to figure this out on my own i have to figure this out on my own and then i was like angry at god because i felt like he wasn't helping me in that area so then i'm like i'm gonna do this without you god And then God was like, listen, I love you. But I don't need you, you need me. And then it was like, I felt like I was punishing God by keeping him out. He's like, you're not punishing me by doing that. You're gonna realize it's hurting you more than it's hurting. It's hurting you by pushing me out. And it's like, man, I just realized in that moment that how much I really actually need to depend on God, because in my, what I was saying was fear and being angry at God, I acted like God somehow needed me, where it was like, God doesn't need me. He loves me, but he don't need me. And now it's like, it's actually
brought me to a place of remembrance. And it's like, God, I was like asking like, you didn't care about me when you broke my, but the things that I cared about, you broke my butt daughter to me. You gave me all these other things. And I was so worried about this one thing that I forgot everything else that you did for me. And like, the one thing that Pastor Carlos said is like, in Exodus, the Israelites were like, they were like, you'll take us back. But the thing is, in Exodus, it says that God brought him out of Israel, but not just that he brought him out of Israel, he brought them to him. And more. (muffled speaking) And I'm tripping and now I'm just more studying and being in the presence of God more. - Amen, so you went to trusting him, right? So like, for example, this is a night of discipleship, every Tuesday, right? So for example, like, you remember when Jesus, we talked about the Romans soldier, where he said, he said, I'm gonna go another little tangent right here, Pastor, is it okay? Okay, so you remember the soldier that he went, he said, hey, you say the word, who remembers that story? He said, you say the word, I can't, you know what? You say the word because I know a man of rank.
I know a man of rank when I see him. All you gotta do is you don't gotta come to my house. You don't gotta go see who's sick. You don't gotta go see who needs your help. All you have to do is say the word, just like I do, when I say the word, my men go do this and do that and do this and he explained everything, right? And he said, all you have to do is say the word and you go ahead and go, and it's gonna happen. This is a Roman soldier, meaning this is a man of high status, in Rome, right? High status, yet he comes to Jesus with that such humility, but then Nazareth, Nazareth said what? The carpets of the sun. And do you know who Jesus was talking to? When he responds to the Roman soldier, you know who he was talking to? The same people who ran up to him. Do you not care with parish? You not care if we parish? The same, the same person. And he says, I have not seen this much faith in all of what, in all of Israel, from one Gentile, from one Gentile, that could have been walking with so much pride. I don't need you, Jesus. What's the one that came to Jesus? I need you the most. He said, one Roman soldier of high status
that could send out his own tired troops and kill everybody came with so much faith to me, more faith than all of Israel. Put that into perspective. Yet the disciples here are telling him, do you not care about your own children, about your own creation that we're gonna die? You not care if we die? Look at the storm, they're complaining to him. They were literally saying what you were saying. You need me. You need my faith, God. No, I don't. No, you don't. But because they were seeing him wrongly and God can't move with someone or a people that's seeing him wrongly because he mentions a people, Israel. Israel, like even this same room right now cannot receive from God, from what we're teaching if we are seeing God wrongly. There's people on their phone laughing. There's people on their phone, just whatever. You cannot receive from God if you become too familiar with him, You're not the Holy Spirit can fall upon any man and speak the words of the Lord, especially if that man knows them. Do you know that? So then why is the room being so dry and stiff-knit?
If we know that, why has it been? Yes, yes, yes, yes. All right, just being honest with you, be encouraged. Be encouraged to really even when Pastor Rich and Carlene are here, we notice it. He always says it, do we come to just come? I'm here, God, that I'm here, God ain't gonna make you be in power by the Spirit of God Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and even Sunday morning. You respond to God from your heart when manifesting the physical, from what you're actually gonna be connected to. That make sense? Just being honest, for real. I just, I really felt it from the Lord to really share that with you guys. And even everybody, and everybody that's listening, for real productions, everybody, all of us. So call that even on Sunday night and Sunday nights, we respond, Pastor Rich is not God. We respond to God through our pastor. We respond through Pastor Carlene because they're getting the word of the Lord for this house. Does that make sense? So let it be a conviction that we may not be those people that are the same. Jesus, we are serving right now that they serve, calls, oh, ye of little faith. The same people that he said, all of Israel did not have this much faith as this man.
That make sense? Amen. Amen, Pastor. Yeah. Okay, so let's look at the Greek word. Deolos, it means timid, cowardly, dreadful, distinct from photos when used of holy reverence. Compared to 2 Timothy 1-7, it says God has not given us a spirit of fear. Deolalia, but a power of love and of a sound mind. So we got a question. What report have you been believing the enemy about? So what report or what thing, right? Have you been believing the enemy about? What have you been believing the enemy about, look at John the writer? That whatever I'm in the church, it's just me, by myself, like mentally. I don't know if that makes sense. So you're believing that when you get the church you're by yourself? Yeah, in a way to where it's just me. I don't know how to explain it. I just feel alone when I'm at church. I mean, no, everyone says hi. I love you and all that. And I just think thoughts still come with my mind about it. Who loves John the day? (audience cheering) Wait, let's do it again.
Who loves John the day? (audience cheering) (audience applauding) There you go. (laughing) We love you, bro. Yeah, I'm just being honest. I love it, but I want to be honest too. Amen, thank you. We love you. Appreciate it, appreciate everyone. I think we love you, man, we love you. Okay, so what's the truth, John? Truth is, like Jesus never leaves me. He never forsakes me. John, I want you to declare and decree that right now. Take that hood off real quick. Let me see that, yeah. Now if I want you to declare and decree right now the truth, and we're all going to come into agreement. Come on. The Lord guides me, he's my life. He's my salvation. Come on, Johnathan. He's a power over me. Never let me. Come on, Johnathan. I think in the shadow of mine, no, God, that's why I'm not. Come on, Johnathan.
The valley might say death, 'cause Jesus says life in the light of the Lord. Come on, Johnathan. I say the path through the light that he guides me in. Oh, he never leaves me, because even when I'm unfaithful, he's faithful to me. Come on, Johnathan. Thank you, Jesus. That's what you do. I feel amazing. Come on. You're loved. We love you. You're our brother. And we're gonna, Come on, no unbelieving that heart. We're never going to give up on you. For real. Come on, who's next? Amen. Amen. Who else? Who else? What report have you been believing the enemy about? Somebody. It's OK, hold on. Don't raise your hand. I'm going to call somebody. Nobody raised their hands. Let's look.
Let's see. It's Haley. All right, come on, Haley. Love that. All right, guys, that is-- No, no, no, no. Now it's on you. You give her the mic right now. A lie is like how I show up for my family. Go deeper. No, no, change your answer. Go deeper. Like, you know, sometimes I battle with anger. And I get hit with, like, I'm never going to break that pattern that came from my parents or, like, generations. So he's been showing me, like, my heart. Like, I got to really go deep with it and not believe those lies. Like, because he just called me to break so many things. And sometimes it feels heavy. Yeah. Like, God, like, but why me? Like, why you had to let me do this? Like, but it's just stressing him, like, it's not going to my children. Yeah. It's not going down to the bloodline. So if I got to deal with it, it is what it is. But that's one-- that's one lie.
It's like, I'm not going to break out of anger. Who in here loves Haley? [CHEERING] [APPLAUSE] Now, Haley, give her the microphone again. Stand up, Haley. I want you to declare. And I want you to decree right now when we're all going to come into agreement. Come on, Haley. Come on, Haley. Amen. The Word of God says that who the sun's has free. It's free. Come on, Haley. [CHEERING] Come on, Haley. He says that we are the light and the darkness. So, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, man. I know you not in the secret place like, yeah, God. So your Word says, and that's what it is. That's not how you pray, woman of God. I want you to declare and decree right now. And we're all going to come into agreement with you, Haley. Come on. What my mind is going to blink right now. It's OK. Come on. Pray.
Holy spirit, Haley. Come on, everybody give Haley a round of applause. Encourage our sister. No, don't give that mic to nobody. You're going to hold on to that. Thank you, Jesus, that I am the light and the darkness, Lord Jesus. I thank you, that who the sun's has free. It's free. Come on, Haley. I thank you, that no weapon formed against me. Come on, Haley. My family, I thank you, Jesus, that you said, that you are, that I am. I am, that I am. [LAUGHTER] You don't change, Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. Amen. Come on. Come on. Praise the Lord. One more. One more. Who else? Let me look, hold on. Don't even raise your hand. I don't want you to raise no hands. Let me see.
Do, do, do. Rob, you got the red hat, man. I saw you. [LAUGHTER] Rob, what report have you been believing the enemy about? That I wouldn't be a father. I can't hear you say it louder. That I wouldn't be a father. That you're not going to be a father. OK. You ready? You're going to declare in decree. And we're going to come into agreement. Vivian, stand up. Stand up next to your husband. Come on, I want you to-- Rob, I want you to go to war with this thing. And you're going to declare in decree real quick. There's no such thing as being introverted in Christ. We are all called to be bold because the Holy Spirit is in us and the Holy Spirit makes us bold. Amen. Come on, Rob. I want you to declare in decree. You don't even got to sit here and give me a scripture. I just want you to form your heart. I will be a father. My wife will have a child. We will have a family. You're going to say it boldly, OK?
Come on. I'm going to be a father. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Come on, Rob. I'm going to be a father of a daughter or a daughter. Come on. In the name of Jesus. Come on. I'm going to be the greatest father. I'm going to be just like Jesus want me to be because he already has a plan for me. Yes. Take your hand out your pocket. Put your hand up like this. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. I'm going to be a great father. Yes. The Lord loves me. Yes. And he has a plan for me to prosper me and to also make me the greatest father out there. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Amen. Father, right now in the mighty name of Jesus, Lord, we thank you, Lord, that your word says to be fruitful and multiply. Father, we thank you for this wound that's going to carry your child.
Father, we command the womb to be open to receive. Father, we believe, Lord, that you can move mightily in this place. Father, prepare them for a child. Prepare them, Lord God, and continue to find them and take them through the season, Lord. Father, they give this to you today, and we're in agreement that you'll be fertile and bare a seed in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Okay, come on. Amen. Amen. Amen.
Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. for Jesus like Jesus and so I think that's to summarize that's what it would be. So what is it? What have you been leaving the enemy that God doesn't care about? What is it specifically? Man. Man. What has fear been telling you that God supposedly does not care about? Man. Specific. Is it the Lord that you're introverted in that fear of maybe communicating with people or something? Is that you're always going to be like that? Is that what you meant when you said that? Yeah, along the lines of that. Yeah. So you ready? Yeah. Because you're about a decree and declare. And I'm about to come into agreement with you. You ready? Yeah. Because you're not introverted. You're a mighty man of God and you're going to be in someone who's going to evangelize. And many people are going to hear the gospel from your lips, your family, your friends, the people that you see at work at the gas station, anywhere you go. Man. Man. I want you to stand up and decree and declare. I want you to say that you're not introverted, that you're a man of God that you're going to preach the gospel, that you're going to open up your mouth when God tells you to open up your mouth. Come on. Hey, man. We're going to come into agreement. Come on. All right. In the name of Jesus, I'm a son of God. God has not given me a spirit of fear. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. God is the one who will speak through me, not the enemy. Come on. Man. That's a break. You can see it. Keep going. Keep going. I only put my trust in God. No, no man. No voice at the enemy shall have any power over me. My mind is renewed through the Holy Spirit daily and he walks with me. He loves me. He trusts me. Judgment for man is not real. Man, I'm just tripping up. I'm just right there. I'm praying in the name of Jesus. I thank you for my brother. Father, I thank you that he's not introverted. Father, I thank you Lord that he's going to open up his mouth and he's going to pray. He's going to open up his mouth and he's going to preach the gospel. He's going to be the light anywhere he goes, that his job for his family, for his friends, for anywhere he goes. Father, I pray Lord that you stir the boldness of the Holy Spirit in him, God, the same boldness you gave Peter on the day of Pentecost. Father, I pray that you give him a boldness Lord, boldness Lord, boldness Lord to preach the gospel Lord, to preach the gospel in Jesus mighty name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you. Thank you. Amen. God bless you. Come on, pick the other person. Are we declaring in the Korean tonight? That's what we're doing tonight. We're going to war. What's going on, guys? What's your name and what city you from? Yes, sir All right, so we
Me I have type one diabetes. I've had it since 11 years old and pretty much we got prayed over the first time we went the second time and It's it's tough, but it will be done. I am receiving it, but the day-by-day process strong eating Staying in my word my wife has been a tremendous help Sometimes I had that that voice in my mind that wants me to pick something up that I shouldn't eat but I push through but There's just a little bit in there. I will not try them. I know that that victory is already here Just one day at a time so man, but it is it is just a slight bit is there and that's it. That's it So what has fear been telling you that God doesn't care about be specific? What has fear been saying to you? That is something that you don't think God actually cares about but he does but you just that's the lie from the devil that he doesn't care That he doesn't care that I have this helmet and that it's meant to be here to Just just be in a helmet and that it's uncurable. Yes You that you won't be healed or that yes, I can't help you Okay, are you ready? Let's do it. You're gonna decree in the clear you and your wife One at a time Come on. Come on decree. Say I'm healed. I am shield and Jesus man. I am steel I'm healed at the moment that he came to victory with all of it's almost near and Jesus mighty name 3000 years ago declared already it is done and it's finished in Jesus name victory Amen, it's time to declare your words shall not return void in Jesus mighty name Amen That's what yeah Let's pray for our brother Your name is Justin, right? Yes, sir, Justin so father right now in the name of Jesus We pray for Justin Lord father. We thank you Lord that the word says that by your stripes We have been made whole so right now we command the body to be made whole from the crowns of his head to the souls of his feet We command the body to be made whole right now
That the body hasn't submit to the word of God in the spirit of God full healing in the mighty name of Jesus in Jesus name Amen, amen Amen Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Amen. God bless you guys. Love you All right The promise and the possession are separate by ground you have to walk you're ready everybody say the promise and the possession amen Hebrews 6 12 and 15 says that you do not become sluggish but imitate those who through faith in patient inherit the promise and So after he had patiently endured he obtained the promise Two words not one faith in patience Faith takes hold of the promise Patience is what keeps you holding it across the distance Leave either one out and you do not inherit the word is my called themia literally long tempered a long fuse the opposite of a short one and Catch the danger the writer names first sluggish Meaning to dull slow or numb The exact same word he used two chapters earlier for being dull of hearing So the first threat in the waiting is not dramatic rebellion. It is numbness It is the slow Between the promise in Genesis 12 and the boy in Genesis 21 Most of us are not failing in the weight. We are just going numb in it Man God really wants us to walk out very intentional not religious not legalistic but intentional in our walk in Christ
with those trials that we face Keeping faith keeping hope and trust in him Experience with him What? Aslan why do we why do we know that God is real That's it We experience him Jayli have you experienced God so much sometimes in the secret place with his love that you forget about your finances Yeah, and then out of nowhere your finances come. Yeah, that's what he wants you to live Doing your part of course budgeting on all that stuff and then giving it to him Does that make sense commit your works unto the Lord and your and then your thoughts shall be established exactly right so That's faith and patience I trust you and I'm gonna wait on you That's all he wants us to live with whatever work we got going on Anything and everything that we got going on every single person in here has something individually that they're hoping and trusting God for And that's how he wants us to live If now you have to that you Paul says something so good in the scriptures. He says Reflect to whether you're even in the faith Does that mean that we just lose our back am I saved? No, that's not talking about that He's not saying that he's saying reflect very very thoroughly Reflect where you act in your in your relationship with Christ And that reflection you'll know if you're actually going no more not You'll go you'll be like wow man, you know why because you're so focused on him that he's gonna reveal it to you Right who goes to the secret place and meditates on what they're doing wrong There's an Scripture tells you to do the opposite You know how I know David says search my heart old Lord You search my heart old Lord And then what what else does he say created me a clean heart old God? It's not our job To find out and figure out what's in our heart
If you searches the one who test who searches the heart and test the mind you'll know immediately but How can you how if you're not doing those things? How can you be patient and have faith in him? If you can't even be trusted and waiting on him to show you what's in your heart And you want him to move a mountain of finances of your future You know how very little it is for God to show you what's in your heart He made you with his very very beautiful hands All right patience patience is letting go of control of How you want your life to play out? How you want the epistle of Cesar, Vangela, Michael Diana Joelle to go or to have a beautiful ending and finish Right you know how beautiful the ending of Apostle Peter's epistle was You know how was our beautiful was Michael? He got hung upside down on a cross To us it's like that's wild to God. That's beautiful You see how our minds is like opposite to the God's Kingdom He's like oh go through the storm and we think that is just Florida weather No Is your bank account? Your car breaking down. Everything. And you, ah, I don't know what to do. And then you trust God and then everything just, he just breathes. All God has to do is, you ever thought about that? That's all he got to do. And everything changes.
Bro, that's how powerful he is, bro. It's convicting, right? It's like, dang, all you got to do is breathe and everything just, oh my gosh. Lord, breathe on this. Lord, breathe on that. No, they don't work like that now. How about you say, Lord, breathe on me. Breathe on me, Lord. So I can change. So I can experience, you know, I just want to experience your breath, Lord. That's it. And not crazy. Hey, man, he can do it. Hey, man, let's look at the Greek. Macro Theo Mia. Macro Theo Mia. It means long suffering, patience under delay. Macros, it means long. And domos, domos, it means temper. And notros, which means sluggish. Dole, Torbit, it's used in Hebrews, 5/11, of being dole of hearing. Okay, so let's answer a question, y'all. 1-1, okay. Has waiting made you numb? Paola. Has waiting made you numb? Yes.
What are you waiting for? I waited for a lot of things, but I could say marriage, of course. Amen. And my finances, my finances first, 'cause I don't have to get that in order, and then marriage. I'm waiting like the order that I'm putting in right now, for it's a flourish, and I fruit. And yeah. That's what I'm waiting on, but I've been dole, because you know how I says don't grow weary and doing good, but I just be growing weary, bum. I guess it's a lack of faith. Yeah. Amen. Yeah. Everybody give it up for paolo. (audience laughing) I did kind of add something. Yes. Okay, 'cause I actually wrote some, so Joel, Pastor Joel, you were saying, "Why does your faith decrease "when you face various trials?" And I was gonna say, like I feel like when trials come, 'cause waiting is like a trial for me for some reason. I don't know, is that bad? No, it's real. Okay, so I feel like waiting is like,
"Ugh, I'm waiting." And so I feel like it's maybe it's entitlement. Like I feel like, "Why?" Like, "Why?" "Why are you making me wait right now?" Like, I thought you were, you know, you make things happen like this. Like, and then that's when I started like believing, like his character is changing. Like he's like everyone else in the world, like, "Oh, you're just switching up on me right now." Like, you weren't like that last season. And then in this season, now you're acting like a brand new, I don't know. I'm just... (laughing) Hold on, hold on, you ready? Let's respond, that's good, that's real. All right, the Bible says, and James won. Count it all joy. Yeah. (laughing) Yes, it is. It says, "My brethren, is this it?" Yes, count it all joy when you fall to various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Thank you, Paul. I literally believe this is exactly the answer that you need.
(laughing) Like, word for word, 'cause you're like, "Why do I have to wait?" Yeah. Right? The reason that you have to wait is that faith is producing patience in you. And you're waiting like as if you're waiting in a doctor's office, but gotta tell 'em you to wait like someone that's holding on to endure. That's the difference. You ever like squatted on a rack, like on a weight rack? Yeah. You ever like, picked some up and then you had to hold it? And like, literally you just had to hold it? That's what he's telling you to do. He's telling you to hold it. And you wait, 'cause that we're patients. It doesn't mean somebody just sitting down, just waiting for the doctor to come in. No, it means to endure. - That's good. - The faith in this trial, it should be like, why am I going through these trials, God? Are you switching up on me? He's not switching up on you. He's trying to produce something in you that's perfect and complete lacking nothing. Perfect and complete lacking nothing. - Thank you. - Thank you.
- No problem. - Thank you. - Hey, Rhett. (audience applauding) - Peter, what's up? - I thought he came in. - No, that's so powerful, 'cause when I was in college, and we do our morning workouts, every six a.m., I hated it. And at the end of every workout, we always had the whole. We had to put on the biggest weight, whatever it is, for squats, and our coach, you will always say, "Hold it, hold it, hold it." And when I hold it, I hated it the most. But every time the next day, I would be more confident in the next, the next weight, or like the next in various trials, like you could put, I guess, trials in the terms of that weight. That I would be more confident in that next thing that will come, because I know I did everything that I could for this weight, for the squat rack. So when you, that to me again, I'd be more confident in that trial would look like small to me. - That's good. - You know, so that's really good, that's really good. - 'Cause think about it, like it's not like the, it's not like, like I said, this passive weighting, like somebody waiting to go into the bathroom. It's like somebody running a marathon.
- Yeah. - Like they're running, and obviously the finish line is not coming no time soon. But in their mind, they're not trying to hurry up and get to the finish line. They're enduring in the moment. Check in their breath, checking like their pace. They don't want to go too fast. - And it makes me stronger, literally it makes me stronger. Like all of a sudden, now I'm squatting, 460. But last week, I was scoring 420. Like it's just like, but that holding is literally like, that's God. - Yes. - That's God. - Yes. - That's wild. - You know what I heard the Holy Spirit say? Waiting without hope is impatience. When waiting with hope is patience. - And something else is so good. Oh my gosh. We have to learn to love the process. Everybody's in the process individually, right? We're all in our own processes. And if we're like, hurry up, where's my breakthrough? You missed the process. You missed it. You literally missed the point of the process. And because you're missing the point of the process,
you're actually never gonna get to the breakthrough. Or you'll just stay stuck in that same place. (mumbling) - Okay. So this is really good how we're talking about all this, 'cause I was literally just meditating on this today with the Holy Spirit. Like waiting, numbness, all of this. This is so long time because how Paula was saying, you can get impatient with God. And it's real, like sometimes you do get numb, but it's like Pierre was saying like, "God is producing that capacity in you." Like if it wasn't for these various trials, I would not be drawn to go seek him. I would not be drawn to go pour my heart out beforehand. I would not be drawn to literally go interior and have him strengthen me. And like how Pierre was saying, like in the next trial, it's like, bro, I know that God could get me through this because he got me through the last trial. It's like just capacity. And I thought I was hearing on Paula talking, like I remember like there's so many times where I just go into the presence of God, and I'm just real before him. But he always ministers to me like, don't go. Like you don't wanna go somewhere where my spirit doesn't go before you. Like Moses said like, if your spirit doesn't go before me,
I don't wanna go there. And it's just like we don't wanna go where God is not, his spirit is not there because it's gonna lead to destruction. But it is real like waiting on God is hard. But like when you wait on him, he just produces his character in you. Like he just forms himself so deep in you. - That's so good. - It's true because like, think about it. Why would you have to wait? I think about it just rationally, logically. Why does one have to wait? Why? And that's because of what? 'Cause you're being tested, right? Like we see that with Abraham. Like he was waiting a long time. But what did that improve? It showed Abraham you're not even submitted to God for real. You just think you are. 'Cause a lot of times we do this, I do this. We've all done this, right? Where we say, "God, like, oh God, give me this, "and if you give me this, I'm gonna do this, "and I'm gonna do that." And like, you have all of these things that you say with your lips, but then in your heart it's not the truth. And God says, "Okay, no problem, I'm gonna wait."
And you're just sitting there like, "Okay God, I'm on fire, I'm on fire, fire, fire, fire." But then eventually you're still waiting, still waiting, still waiting. It's not happening, it's not happening. And then suddenly you're like, "Hey, he's sitting forever, okay." And then the real heart comes out. Ooh, heart gets revealed. You're like, actually stumbles, falls, right? And God says, "What happened?" I thought you were on fire and doing all these great things. And now what? Because you didn't get the blessing. Now suddenly you veer off. So were you asking from the blessing because you love me and you want me to give it or were you just asking for you? Boom, heart reveal, heart reveal. In that moment you're like, "Wow, you're right God, I'm actually tripping out." And I did want that for myself. I didn't want it for you. I wanted it for me. And he says, "No problem." Now that you understand that, let's wait longer. And now you're like, "Okay, all right, I can't wait any longer now." (laughs) And then maybe he'll give it to you for a little bit.
He'll be like, "All right, here you go. Let's take it for a little bit." Okay, can I get that back real quick though? Let me get that back. Now wait again. And you're like, "Wait a second, God, you just gave that to me." Yeah, I just wanted you to see that it is yours and you can have it, but I just want it right now. And you're just like, "Okay, well, let's wait again." Instead of like, 'cause it reveals the heart. And your heart is being revealed in the time of waiting. God, I, he promised you leadership. He promised you a husband, a child, a house, prosperity, all these beautiful things and not, but guess what, you gotta wait. But that's why I said, do not despise the process. 'Cause that's the only way you're gonna get through this. You gotta look at it like, "All right, I bet I'm waiting. How can I cultivate? How can I refine myself? How can I prepare? How can I use this time and give God all the glory in the world?" And you know what happens when you have that heart? He gives it to you. At least in my life, that's what I've noticed. Like whenever I'm just like, "You know what, God?" Like, man, this is yours, man. I'm tripping. I want this, I did want this selfishly,
but I repent from that. I don't want it no more like that. It's yours, you can have it. And I release it, and it's peaceful, and I'm not thinking about it. And then I don't know where I turn the corner. Boom, there it is. I'm like, "Dang." And I get sketched out like, "Nah, that can't be God." But he's like, "No, here you go." Because you pass the test. You don't want it, you gave it to me, you surrendered it, it's mine now. Because it's mine now, it's yours now. 'Cause whatever's mine is yours. You see what I'm saying? So that's not despising the preparation. All right, one more, is the numbness, right? A lot of times, we get to it in the cycle of just life. We wake up in the morning, we get in the secret place, we go to work, we go to church, we come home, we go to sleep, we wake up, we go to work. And we're just going through this cycle, this cycle. And we begin to lose reverence for God. We begin to lose reference for our pastors. We begin to lose reference for his word. If you're not refreshing yourself in the morning, right? You begin to lose focus on who you are, right? And in that midst, what happens is that you fall into something that God freed you from
because you numbed yourself to him. But guess what? You know what happens when you fall? Normally, you're supposed to happen, you wake up like, oh man, I just fell, oh my gosh, I'm tripping out. Dang, I've been getting familiar with God in the church and prayer in the Bible and I've just been doing the motion of it and it led you to sin. It leads you to sin. And then you fall into the sin, you're like, yo, what the heck? And then you wake up like, dang, I'm repenting, you're crying, but then instead of just being like, God, it's okay, I'm a man, I got to save him, sanctify, blah, blah, blah. How about you reflect on the numbness that happened right before you fell? To identify the trigger or the reason that you fell so that way you can destroy the cycle. 'Cause that's what we don't do. We just run straight into like, God, I'm good, I'm straight. But God is saying, slow down, son, why did this happen? It's not about what you did, what you did is wash my other blood every time. But why did it happen? It's that numbness that makes me look at my pastor, he tells me a word and I just turn around and just keep going.
I didn't even hear what he said. Then I pick up the word, I read it, I know it, I can quote it, but it doesn't hit my heart. Then I go into the secret place 'cause I'm emotional, but I don't go to see how my dad is doing. That's numbness. And it leads you down to this path until you kind of fall over, but then that sin that you fell into actually becomes the reason you wake up. And now you're repenting, you're like, hold on, I'm tripping, I got to get back, I got to fast, I got to pray, I got to get right and it leads you back to him. Does that make sense? Sometimes we can't even get there if we don't fall, sometimes we got to hit our face, right? So we can wake you up, wake up, you're tripping. It happens to all of us. So I feel that that's what I think we should repent for being familiar with God. I think that's what I think we should do. I think this is a powerful message that bless the mess out of me. And we just got to repent. It's nine o'clock. We're low key, gotta go. Bless repent. Amen, come on. We're gonna repent for being numb. We're gonna repent for, just being familiar with God.
Getting familiar, everybody close your eyes. No, no eyes open, everybody close your eyes. We get familiar with the word. It's like what I said earlier, if we only knew the value that it held, we would read more. Sometimes we don't pray. Sometimes we pray quickly. Sometimes we pray about ourselves. If only we saw the value in what was happening when we prayed, we would pray more. If we understood the generational blessing that's inside this building every time we come to worship Him, we would worship Him more. If only you would see where you would end up if you never met Jesus, you wouldn't stop singing. And how there's people out there that don't even know who He is, that are lost, being tormented, that are deceived, to believe that what they're living is truth and what they have is real. But we serve the one true living God. But we serve the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and He is so in love with you. He relentlessly pursues you. He forgives you quickly. He's slow to anger.
He's a man of His word. And He's patient, and He's long-suffering. And even though you run away from Him, He relentlessly pursues you. So, Father, we repent. We repent for being familiar. We repent for becoming dull. We repent for being impatient. We repent for being selfish, for pursuing our own things for our own desires. Father, we repent for placing anything above you. We repent for not seeing you rightly, King Jesus. Any time that we've taken advantage of you, or try to manipulate you for our own personal gain, God, we repent. For any time we said things that we didn't mean, for any time we lived away, where it didn't reflect you. For any time that we were selfish, and so seeking, and entitled, God, you don't have to give us anything. You don't have to give us anything. You gave us everything already. Well, we receive your love, we thank you for it, but we repent. We repent. We repent. We turn away, we change. We don't want to be familiar.
We don't want to get content. We don't want to dishonor. We don't want a straight away. We don't want that evil of doubt to come into our hearts. We don't want to go back to the world. We want to serve the ones who live in King every single day. Every single day of our life, every second of our day, we want to be infatuated with you, with our eyes locked on you, focused on you. Give us a hunger and a thirst for your kingdom and your righteousness. Fill us and counter us. Mark us, because we are yours. We surrender. We surrender everything. Everything. Thank you, Lord. We love you. Tell them you love them. Start telling them how much you love them. Just express your love to him. Thank you. Be thankful. We were pain. We received the blood. In Jesus' name. Let your sister together. Amen. Amen.
Thank you, Abba. Come on, let's give Jesus some praise. Ah. All right. We're forgiven. He forgives us and he loves us and he doesn't hold it against us. These are great moments that just reflect and to be sober. To get sobered by the truth. Amen, family. God bless you guys. God bless you, SOR. We love you guys so much. Thank you guys for joining in from everywhere. Yeah, guys. Let's clean up. Let's go home. We see you guys next Tuesday. Bye.
