Get Out of the Way
Pastor Jon-Michael Martin continues our series The Next Chapter with a message called Get Out of the Way. In Acts 10, we see how God knows who needs Him, works on His timeline, and leads us where He wants us. This message will challenge you to remove what’s blocking God from moving through your life.
I want to welcome all of our campuses, Twinsburg, Fairview Park, Avon. Those of you joining us online, it's a privilege and honor to be with you and the Lord's presence right now. And I'm really excited about today because we are in week three of our next chapter series. And this chapter, sorry, this series, I love it so much because it's really been challenging me personally, not just as a pastor, but as a follower of Christ, to step into the example that the first century church left for us. They set the example because they were the first church. They left us the example for how we should follow Christ where they perfect, no. But they showed us what it looks like to truly follow Jesus in the face of great adversity most of the time. And as we look at their example, we realize that we're standing on their shoulders and that we have a responsibility in light of the price that they paid for us to be where we are nearly 2,000 years later to live like Christ just like they did. And so I hope that this series has challenged you. I hope that at times like it has for me, rebuked you. The Word of God is good for rebuke. I don't know if you know that. I know we don't like that part of that verse in Timothy. When Paul says that the Word of God is good for encouragement, I like that one. I like the encouragement part. But the Word of God rebukes me and corrects me. And I need that. Why? Because I don't want to live in sin. I want to live in holiness and in righteousness to a holy and righteous God. And so I hope the series has challenged you and I hope it's encouraged you. Today's title, the title of my message for today, I really believe that it is prophetic and it's something that I, myself am working on. Whenever we get up here to preach, we're not preaching for my retires.
I hope that you know that. We are preaching things that we are living out, whether it's pastor Phil, pastor Jose, myself, anybody else who gets up here, we're preaching from experience going, I'm still trying to figure this thing out as well. So as the Lord, I thought the Lord gave me this title, I was like, oh my gosh, I got to do this too. Whoops. So if you're taking notes, I want you to write this down. The title of my message today is get out of the way. Yes I'm talking to you, just like the Holy Spirit was talking to me. If I got to get it, you got to get it too, okay. Get out of the way. I want you to turn to two or three people right now and look them right in the eye, point at them and say, get out of the way. And don't start quote ludicrous to them either, okay, don't do it. I know you were tempted as soon as I said that you heard Luda. I don't know what that song is, but I've heard that there is a song by a certain rapper. We joked about it being my walkout music, we don't have walkout music, but if we joked about it, obviously we didn't do it, okay. You got to be able to laugh in the house of God, all right? You have to. Get out of the way. When it comes to walking with Jesus, we have to get out of the way. It's usually not somebody else's fault that I'm not where God wants me to be. It's my fault. I don't care what they said or did, it's my responsibility, what I do with what that person said or did. Even if what they did was sinful and wrong and it hurt me, that's real and we got to walk through that. Now I'm responsible as a Christ follower to do the next right thing with that.
So I have to get out of the way. Now when I say this phrase, I'm not saying that God doesn't want you step out of the way so that he can use somebody else. No, God wants to use you and me. So where do we get out of the way on? It's in our thoughts, it's in our mind, it's in our hearts, those preconceived notions, those old insecurities and worries and anxieties that don't fit you anymore, that you're still holding on to. God wants to get rid of those so that you can come into alignment with what he wants to do not only for you, but through you for somebody else. Have you ever had to tell somebody to get out of the way? Don't lie, you did it on the way to church. Somebody cuts you off and you said get out of the way and the loot aversion came out. It was the less than say version. You know you did it. It's okay, we've all done it. Get out of the way. I've had to tell people to get out of the way and I've had to have people tell me to get out of the way. I was thinking about one time a couple of years ago, I don't actually, it may have been last year, it was last year or two years ago, we were getting ready for our Thanksgiving outreach and you know we give out like, Jeff was it 700, I think it was 700 turkeys this there was a stack of turkeys that we were getting off the truck, and we were trying to get in the building. Well, they started to teeter, and wobble, and this particular employee stepped in front of hundreds of pounds of turkey and put her tiny little arms up to stop them. And we all, in unison, yelled, "Get out of the way!" Why? Because we didn't want her to die by a frozen turkey! That'd be the worst way to go out. Are you kidding me? You walk up to heaven, you get up there, and Peter's like, "Hey, how's it going? How'd you get here?" And you go, "Well, you see, what had happened was there was a stack of turkeys, we were going to give these turkeys to people who weren't going to have a Thanksgiving dinner, and I stood out in front of them to save the turkeys." And Peter goes, "You couldn't just move down to the way?"
Like, can you imagine telling heaven, that's how you, obviously they know how you get there, but like, can you imagine that being your story? Like, you're up there with people who gave their lives for Christ, you get up there with people like David who have had these incredible lives of faith, and you get up there, and they're like, "Hey, how'd you get your frozen turkeys?" We wanted to save her from that end, so we yelled, "Get out of the way!" Her heart wasn't the right place, her mind wasn't the right place, it just wasn't the best use of her skill sets and of her body. We're trying to protect her. She had to get out of the way. When it comes to following Jesus, especially when it comes to sharing our faith with other people, we have to get out of our way and out of God's way so that He can move through us to bring somebody else who's far from Him to Him. And today, we're going to continue in the next chapter, and we're going to look at the story of the Apostle Peter and how he had to learn to get out of the way. If you're taking notes, my main point for today, I got one of them. I got a few things that go along with it, but the one thing I want you to get, if you don't get anything else I say, lock in with me right now and write this down. God can use you. I'm talking to you. Yes, the former alcoholic, the former drug addict, the former porn addict, the divorcee, the widow, the widower. I'm talking to you, the person who's been through abuse, God can use you to change anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyway. I'm going to say that again, because I really want you to get this in your heart and let God use this truth because I didn't pull this truth for myself. I pulled it straight from Scripture and from this story in particular, so I want you to hear me again. God can use you to change anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyway, if you believe that, say amen. Turn with me to Acts 10 right now, starting at verse 1. It says, "At Caesarea, there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian regiment. He and all his family were devout and God-fearing. He gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. One day at about three in the afternoon, he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God who came to him and said, Cornelius, Cornelius stared at him in fear. "What is it, Lord?" he asked. The angel answered, "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God." I'm going to stop right there. There's somebody you need to know right now that your prayers are going before God. He hasn't forgotten. He has heard you. They are a memorial to him. Don't you dare give up. Now you keep praying because God hears you. He sees you and he's moving on your behalf.
Just put your name in there. I'm going to read that part again. I want you to put your name in when it says the angel answered. I want you to say my prayers and use your name. The angel answered, "Your prayers, John Michael. Your prayers carry. Your prayers, Kyle. Your prayers, Tim. Put your name in there. Make it personal." Everything you've done for God has come up as a memorial offering before him. Now send him in to Japa to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter. He is staying with Simon the Tanner whose house is by the sea. This is incredible. This is amazing. It may not seem like anything at first, but you really got to dig deep and know what's happening in this instance. Cornelius was a Roman centurion in the Italian cohort. What that meant was the Italian cohort, that was a special designation, that meant not only were you a Roman citizen, but you were actually an Italian Roman native. He was probably from Rome. Now he's in Caesarea, which was the Roman capital of Israel. The Jewish capital of Israel, of course, was Jerusalem. So he's there, he's a centurion, which for the most part, the Jewish people hated the Roman soldiers because they had occupied Israel for over a century and they hated them, they saw them as their oppressors. But Cornelius was different. As you notice, Dr. Luke, the one who wrote the gospel of Luke and the book of Acts, tells us that he was a God-fearing man. In this particular context, he and his family, they were now worshippers of the Jewish God, Yahweh. In Rome, you were a pantheist. That you worshiped, pantheist means many gods. So you worshiped many gods. You had Mars and you had Venus and you had Pluto and all these other Greco-Roman gods. They were the same ones just with different names.
They were, he had worshiped them and now he worshiped Yahweh. And the Jewish people loved him. The Jewish people who knew him, they loved him. It'd be like you loving a Michigan fan, all right? Just like it. So almost, almost like it, okay? So the fact that he was considered a God-fear and was loved by the Jewish people who knew him, this was crazy, this was unheard of. Nobody loved Roman soldiers, especially, it's insuring because its insuring had real authority. They led at least 100 soldiers. So centa, that's the Latin word for 100. That's where we get the word centurion. He led at least 100 men, but oftentimes, centurians who were really trusted and who were excellent soldiers led more than 100. They could lead sometimes several hundred soldiers. So for Jewish people to love this guy, said something. Not only that, his entire family, they were God-fears. They didn't fully convert to Judaism. He wasn't circumcised, but he was a worshipper of Yahweh. And he gave generously. So on the outside, it looked like everything was on the up and up for Cornelius. Dude had money, he had power, he had influence, he had a family that loved him, and he and his family loved Yahweh and were honored because of it.
But he was still missing something. Actually, he was missing someone. Cornelius hadn't yet given his life to Jesus. Oh yes, God saw his offerings and God heard his prayers, but now Christ has died. He was resurrected and now there's a responsibility to put our faith in him and Cornelius hadn't done it yet. So now God was meeting him right where he was to say, buddy, I'm gonna send somebody your way to preach the gospel of my son to you. And Journey Church, as we are learning that God can use you and me to reach anyone anytime, anywhere, anyway, we have to get out of the way and realize that God knows who needs him. I don't know. I think I know sometimes, and you don't know. We think we do, but if we're to be honest, God knows who needs him. I want you to write that down. God knows who needs him. What's amazing is God's telling Cornelius about Peter, but Peter doesn't even know that he's being talked about. Peter's being volunteered what's gonna happen, and he's not even in the conversation yet. Peter has no idea that there's a guy named Cornelius who lives about 30 to 35 miles north of him and says, "Aria, Peter's all the way down in Japa at his friend Simon the Tanner's house, hanging out and has no idea that an angel
is telling Cornelius what Peter's gonna do, even though Peter doesn't know he's gonna be doing it yet. That's because Peter wasn't God. He didn't know that Cornelius needed to hear about Jesus, but God did. I like to think sometimes that I know who needs the Lord. I'll be watching TV or I'll be on the street, walk into the store, whatever, and I'll go, "Oh, that person definitely needs Jesus." I mean, just look at 'em, they need it. They need him so bad, I mean, really bad. Other times, I'll see somebody and I go, "Oh, man, they have their life all put together. They gotta know Jesus." And half the time, probably more than that, couldn't be further from the truth. And if you were to be honest, you do the same thing. How many people, how many times have we written people off that we thought were too far for God? Well, man, they've been a drug addict for 12 years, John Michael. Like, if they haven't gotten the truth yet, there's no way they're gonna get it now. Well, John, Michael, you just don't know my family member. You don't know how much damage they've caused my family, how much pain, and hurt over years and years. There's no way that they would ever receive Jesus. They are an atheist, they hate God. John, Michael, you don't know my neighbor there. They're so angry and bitter, they have no friends. We've all done it.
We imagined someone in our minds who's too far for Jesus to reach. Oh, but I'm so glad that the prophet said, I am God is my arm too short that I cannot save. Nobody knew that Cornelius and his family needed to get saved. The Jewish people didn't know because they were worse being Yahweh. They weren't worse being Yahshua Ha-Mashiah Jesus, the Messiah just yet. They thought Cornelius was doing great. Peter didn't know he's in Japa doing his thing. Nobody knew that Cornelius needed to get saved, but God did. And so God met him where he was and said, buddy, I've heard your prayers, I've seen you and I'm gonna send Peter your way. I know that you need me, but more importantly, I know that you want to know me and that you're ready to receive the gospel. As we learn that God wants to use us to change someone else's life, we are going to have to get out of the way and learn that we don't know everybody who needs him, he does. (audience applauding) All right, let's keep reading. So Cornelius has this vision, I'm sorry, this visitation. And he tells one of his soldiers and his two servants, hey, I need you all to go to Japa
and look at some dude named Peter. I don't know who he is, we're just supposed to find him. This is before cell phones and Instagram and face, where we go, Simon Peter, let me look him up real quick, bro, hold on just a minute. Oh yeah, there he is, a follower of Jesus, former denier of Jesus, fisherman. Okay, yeah, that's the guy, like they didn't have that. They had to travel by foot, maybe by horse or donkey, about 30, 35 miles south, it took you at least a day, if not two full days to get there, and then once they got there, they had to go find the guy. So they're traveling now, doing that, and take a look at what happens to Peter in verse nine. About noon the following day as they were on their journey, so that's the soldier and the two servants of Cornelius, and they were approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened, and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat." See, God's out of vegetarian or vegan, he likes me. Totally kidding, I'm just making sure you're with me. It was a joke, it was a joke, don't cancel me, okay? Surely not, Lord, Peter replied,
"I have never eaten anything impure or unclean." The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean." Another way to say that is, don't write off who God says is worthy. This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven. While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon's house was, and stopped at the gate. If we want to get out of God's way, then not only do we have to realize that God works on his timeline on ours, so excuse me, that God knows who needs him, we have to also recognize that God works on his timeline. God doesn't work on my timeline or yours, he works on his. Peter and Cornelius are learning this in this story, I love this story so much, 'cause these two guys don't know each other yet, they're in different parts of the country, and God's meeting with them both. Cornelius goes up to pray like he normally did, and while he's there, he's thinking it's just gonna be a normal time of prayer, but then an angel shows up and interrupts his schedule and tells him this crazy adventure that he's about to go on with some guy named Simon Peter that he's never heard of before. Then the next day, less than 24 hours later,
Peter goes up to pray, and he's about to eat lunch, and while he's waiting, he says, "Well, I'll just go pray and talk to Jesus." He gets up on the rooftop, and while he's there, God gives him a vision and shows him this crazy stuff about animals and a big bed sheet, and says, "Don't call unclean what I say is clean." And God just totally interrupted their schedules. [BLANK_AUDIO] out to them. More importantly than Cornelius coming and praying or even giving money to the poor, more than Peter having some casserole for lunch, more importantly than all that was God's plan. In God, although he cares about what we care about, he cares what he cares about more, because it's better. And so he will interrupt our schedule to make it happen. But are we willing to let him do it? As people who live in the West, particularly in the American context, are we willing to allow God to interrupt our schedules? This is something that I struggle with on a regular basis. There was one time a couple of Christmases ago that we were getting ready to have our services and we needed our Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus outfits cleaned. So we have wonderful people who will rotate between wearing those costumes and it gets hot in there. And we don't want people catching the bird flu or the plague or something from like swapping this out. And so we clean it for them because we love our people. So I was taken to the dry cleaners and I dropped it off and I don't remember how it came up, but the girl at the counter told me she was Jewish. I was like, that's awesome. My mom worked in a synagogue for eight years. I have a great love and respect for the Jewish faith. That's awesome. And we start talking and she starts asking me questions about my faith. And what's amazing is the Holy Spirit began to remind me some things that I had learned as a little child going to work with my mom at the synagogue in the summertime. Y'all, God doesn't waste anything. I was eight, nine, ten years old going with my mom to the synagogue, talking to the rabbi and learning things about the Jewish faith. And then as I got older, we started having some Messianic Jewish people. So people who were Jewish by birth, but believe in Jesus as a Messiah, they would kind of
my church and teach us how Jesus was the fulfillment of the old covenant and how he really was the Messiah and how the Lord still wants to say the Jewish people while bringing us into the family. It was incredible. So God starts bringing these things back to my mind and started sharing my faith with her. And I know Hebrew scholar, I know Greek scholar, I never claimed to be. I know a couple of words here and there and I mispronounce them. So just stay with me. We're sitting there talking. And she was like, "Why do you believe Jesus is God's son?" I started walking her through Isaiah 53. And Isaiah very clearly tells us that he is a suffering servant. And everything Isaiah prophesied about Jesus happened. I said, "He is Yoshua Amashira." And she goes, "What? How do you know those words?" And I began to tell her this about my story. And we keep going and she starts talking about creation with me. And I tell her about the Ruokadonai, the Holy Spirit of God who was present at creation. She goes, "How do you know that's his name? How do you know this Hebrew word?" And I tell her again. And she goes, "I don't know why you know this and how it all works together." I said, "I don't. But he does and he loves you and he wants to have a relationship with you." And the Lord interrupted my schedule. I thought I was just dropping off Santa Claus' outfit and Mrs. Claus' outfits. But no, the Lord said, "John Michael, you don't know this young lady needs me. So I'm going to interrupt your timeline because mine's better and she deserves to hear about my son who loves her and died for her. We have to get out of the way and remember that God operates on his timeline." Now, before you start thinking that I missed her incredible and I'm super pastor, I'm not. I have missed it more times than I've gotten it right. And as God as my witness, I've had to ask God's forgiveness for the times that he's told me to share my faith and I didn't. On this particular instance, I said, "Lord, I'm not going to miss this one. Okay, let's go." Now, I wish I could tell you that she got saved that time. She didn't. She still had more questions and I did had somewhere that I had to go. Plus, she was working so I wanted to honor her place of employment where the Lord said, "Buddy, the harvest is at your responsibility. That's my responsibility is to make things grow. Your responsibility is to sow a seed, to water a seed, and when the harvest comes, to gather it and steward it well. You can't make anything grow. That's my job. You were obedient. That's all I ask of you. Okay. But I had to let the Lord interrupt my schedule. Church, are we
willing to do that? Listen, I know that we have important things to do. I'm not saying that you raise your kids and you go into work and basketball practice and soccer practice like all those things matter. They do, but people matter to God. And I'm not saying that you had to throw out your schedule completely. All I'm saying is we have to be like Peter in the early church and go, "Lord, here's my schedule. "Would you like to interrupt it today?" That's it. Lord, I'm gonna get out of the way and I'm gonna change my thinking and I'm gonna let my timeline line up with your timeline 'cause yours is always better. Amen, John Michael, that was a good word. Thank you, sir, good job, buddy. (audience applauds) Cheers. Okay, so Cornelius has the angelic visitation. Peter has the vision. These guys show up. Let's take a look at what happens next. We're 17. While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon's house was and stopped at the gate. They called out asking, "I'm on the right spot. "Hold on, where did we go? "We're in 23 and 26. "Did I skip something?"
Let's just go with 23 and 26, I'm so sorry. Read the part I was just reading, it was really good, okay? Go back to that later this week and read it, it was good. I promise you, it's the word of God, it's always good. All right, verse 23 and 26. It says, "Then Peter invited the men into the house "to be his guests. "The next day, Peter started out with them "and some of the believers from Japa went along. "The following day he arrived in Caesarea, " Cornelius was expecting them "and had called together his relatives and close friends. "As Peter entered into the house, Cornelius met him "and fell at his feet in reverence, "but Peter made him get up. "Stand up, he said, I am only a man myself." So Peter is at his buddy's house. About to have lunch gets us crazy vision. These people show up that he doesn't even know they're, for all intents and purposes, 'cause again, he doesn't know who Cornelius is and how generous he is to the Jewish people or that he's a God-fearing person. He's an enemy of the state of the Jewish people. And they show up, by the way, these are centurions. Remember Roman soldiers? Those guys who are kind of responsible for the death of Jesus, like, that's a scary thing. And now one's showing up at your house asking for you by name?
That's kind of scary. Now, to be fair, we're all responsible for the death of Jesus, by the way, but the guys who put him on the cross physically have Roman soldiers and one showed up at Peter's house, but he lets them in. He hosts them and then he says, "Okay, I'll go with you." So verse 27 where our story picks up. It says, "While talking with them, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people and he said to them, "You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile, but God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or run clean. So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent me?" Peter could have just said to the guys at the house, "Oh, you're asking about Jesus. He's the Son of God. Go tell your master that you need to be saved." And the way that you do that is by believing that Jesus is God's Son. He died on the cross for our sins and he rose again from the dead. You guys can have lunch. Thanks so much for coming. Have a safe trip home. He could have done that.
But Peter had learned to get out of the way and he taught us something that we need to understand right now and that's this. God leads us where he wants us. It may not be where you thought you needed to go. It may not be where you want to go. But if you want God to use you to reach anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyway, then you have to get out of the way and understand that he leads us where he wants us. Peter had grown up his entire life obeying the Torah, which was the law of the first five books of the Bible, Genesis through Deuteronomy, but he also had the Talmud, which was oral traditions of rabbis over centuries added to the Torah and you had to obey that as well. And he had been taught his entire life that he was not allowed to be in the home of a non-Jewish person, a Gentile. But right before he got here, God had wrecked his timeline and had shown him, somebody else needs you. So you're gonna have to get rid of that old thinking. And he showed him, don't you dare call something unclean and impure that I am saying is clean. And what's amazing is Jesus had already told the disciples that all food was clean. He'd already said that, but I guess Peter missed it the first time.
Have you ever had to have God tell you something twice? - More than twice, usually more than twice. So all of this starts to click with Peter. This is what the vision meant, Lord. Oh my goodness, I was wrong the whole time. I had no idea I've been writing off an entire group of people, most of the world, 'cause most of the world's not Jewish by birth. I've written them all off, but you, oh my goodness, you're fulfilling ancient prophecies about Christ, that when he would come, he wouldn't come just to save the Jewish people. He would come to save Gentiles as well. Okay, God is starting to click. Peter started to get out of the way and allow God to use him and to move through him. And so Peter's there, and he's telling all these people, see, 'cause it's not just Cornelius now, it's his whole family, and he had gone to go get friends and relatives that didn't live in the house, and he brought him into the house and said, you gotta hear whatever it is this guy, Simon, is gonna say to us, it's gonna be so good that an angel had to come tell me about it. You all gotta be in the house. So everybody shows up, the house is full of people, and it clicks for Peter. God, this is why you had me get out of the way. I get it now, and he preached the gospel.
He preached the gospel to everybody in the room and take a look at what happens next. I want you to look at verse 44 with me. Acts chapter 10, verse 44. It says, while Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, "Surely no one can stand in the way." He told everybody in the house, get out of the way, of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have. So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. What happened, church? Peter knew that God could use him to change anyone, to save anyone anytime, anywhere, in any way. And in order for that to happen, he had to get out of the way. And when he did, it led him to somewhere he didn't wanna go. But people's lives were forever changed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. What's amazing is if the Lord had just done that, if he had just saved them, that would have been good enough. But God's so much better than that. While Peter's preaching, he didn't give an altar call, he didn't take up an offering, nothing.
No one is laying hands on anybody. He didn't even know they'd gotten saved yet. It says that the Holy Spirit was poured out and the whole house was filled with the Holy Spirit. They got saved, spirit baptized, and water baptized all the same day. That's incredible, why? Because one man said, Lord, I'm gonna get out of the way and I'm gonna let you have your way in me and through me. (congregation applauding) (congregation applauding) I wonder who the Lord wants to send you and me to here in the greater Cleveland area. Is there somebody in Parliament at a restaurant waiting for you this week? You're going to a business lunch there this week and you thought you were just gonna go do a business deal, but God's got somebody waiting for you, the waitress or the hostess, the waiter. And you're gonna share the gospel with them as they bring you to your food. And you're gonna let God interrupt your timeline. I wonder if God wants you to speak to that person that you've written off, that family member, that group of people that you've written off. Peter had written off an entire group of people. Is there someone that you and I have written off and God's going, nope, I haven't written them off yet. So I'm gonna send you to talk to them. It might start with a text.
It might start with a phone call. It might be you crossing your yard and going to your neighbor's yard and saying, "Hey, have I told you about my faith in Christ just yet?" But we have to get out of the way. You see, journey to church, God can use you to change anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyway, but the question is, will you let him? (soft music) Peter did and a whole house got saved at filled with the Holy Spirit and water baptized. I wonder what would happen. online. If we all got out of God's way and are thinking and desires and we said, "Lord, whatever you got to do, I don't know who needs you, but you do, Lord, however you got to interrupt my schedule." That's fine. God, wherever you want to send me, Lord, do it. Just let me get out of the way so that you can have your way through me so that somebody else can come and know the saving grace of Jesus Christ just like I did. Journey I believe it's a prophetic word for us today. Get out of the way. What's amazing is when Peter got out of the way, that's when God used him. God doesn't want you out of the way so that he can skip over. He wants to move through you. He wants to partner with you so that through us, he can continue to bring the kingdom of God from having to earth through our lives because God really can use you and use me to change anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyway.
