Filled to The Brim || Victory Church [Who is Jesus? #6]

John chapter 2, Jesus said to the servants, fill the jars with water. So they filled them to the brim. What Jesus did here at Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory. And the disciples believed in him. Who is Jesus? Who is Jesus? I was working really hard to be accepted, but because I was working so hard to be or feel accepted, I was pushing a lot of people away. At one point, I was working five jobs in school full-time and doing like student ministry when I was in college. It was a lot. It was a lot. A lot of that was I have to prove. When I was in the gym, I have to prove that I can do, I can lift this weight. When I was at work, I have to prove that I can get this done and it's excellent. I have to prove that I belong here. I had interactions with the Lord, for sure, but they were at an arm's length. I first came to victory, actually, and was really plugged into young adults. When I wasn't at work, I was at victory. Just doing life with people, and people were interested in the life that I was living and not in the practiced boxes

or practiced answers that I would give. People were genuinely interested in who I was. There's this verse that talks about God replacing our hearts of stone with hearts of flesh. The more time I spent in community, the less numb I felt. It was slowly and all of a sudden at the same time. In the way that a sun rises, it's very dark, and then you're like, I feel like the sun's coming up. And then over some time, you realize, oh yeah, no, the sun's definitely coming up. I can see this deep craving for community, this deep craving for intimacy, which is insane, because intimacy, I would argue, was the thing I was the most afraid of. Then I met this guy. Yeah, no, he ended up being my best friend, and I friendzoned him so hard. We would talk about everything. He would ask me questions. We developed a, you know when you can talk to somebody from across the room, it's silent communication. We developed that silent communication language. I felt like my mind and my heart felt safe with him before the rest of me even was aware of what was happening. And while Lance was wooing me in the natural, like spiritually, I felt like the Lord was wooing me back to him as well. So there was just this invitation to relational intimacy, and it wasn't even intimacy as I understood it,

like intimacy that I was afraid of. It was this wooing and this invitation to relational safety. That he provided for me. So you best friends so hard you married him? Yeah, yeah, I did. I was like, I'm trying to, no, we're gonna stay friends forever. And yes, we are, until death do we part. I try to live my life as vulnerably as possible now, because it invites more people in. And the more I invite people in, the more I feel the Lord speak. Every time I get to the end of myself, there's been a hand lifting me up. And a lot of times that comes, that hand has come from the community that the Lord has brought to me. Who is Jesus? Who is Jesus? He's a friend. Yeah, he's a really good friend.
