Hey, there might be men all across our campuses today. You want to be a dad, but you're not yet. We've already set up our decorations for VBS this week, and we do not want you or your children to miss VBS. And I know many of you, maybe you're like, we haven't registered our kids. You have to follow us on social media. All right? You need to be following us, okay? Hey. I want you to mark your calendar, July 26. July 26, I want you to hear from this renowned author, theologian, preacher.
He is 90 years young, and he is still traveling the world preaching. He's going to be with us, Dr. R.T. Kendall. And he was born in Kentucky and called to preach, went to Southwestern Seminary. From there, he went to Oxford and received his doctorate in philosophy. And in the providence of God, he thought he'd be coming back home. But God called him to follow some of the great preachers of London, G. Campbell Morgan, Martin Lloyd-Jones. And he was there from 1977 to 2002. Over 25 years, he was there. You're going to get to hear him preach, 90 years young, on July the 26th. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I don't want you to miss it. So make sure you mark your calendar. He's known for two great works. He's authored over 50 books. But his two most popular, Total Forgiveness, and number two, The Holy Spirit. All right? It's going to be a great day. And that just has to be the Sunday before 21 days of prayer, all right? Starting in August. So I'm excited about it. Well, we're in a series called By Faith. We're preaching through Hebrews chapter 11.
I want you to turn and find that. While you do, let me say that Kids Week begins tomorrow. And I know that there are members of our church who literally take vacation, give up a week of their vacation to serve on Kids Week. And I just want you to know, your pastor loves you. Can we thank all those who are going to be working hard next week? I'm praying for you. You know, I was saved in Vacation Bible School. I believe children can get saved at a young age. And we're praying that the seed of the gospel will be planted, that children will be reached, whole families will be reached. And I'm excited about what God's going to do this week. Well, in Hebrews chapter 11, we are now at verse 30 and 31. It says, by faith, the walls of Jericho fell down after being marched around by the Israelites for seven days. And then by faith, Rahab, the prostitute, welcomed the spies in peace and did not perish with those who disobeyed. Let's pray. Father, I'm asking for the Holy Spirit. Who is our teacher to lead us and guide us into all truth. Let me preach out of the overflow of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for what you've taught me in this passage. And I pray you'll show it to your sons and daughters, to every family here. Increase our faith in Jesus' name. Amen. The title of the message, Faith for Families. Faith for Families.
Joshua and Rahab are the focus here in verse 30 and 31. You could not find two people more opposite and yet both of them found faith in God. And I want to encourage you, wherever you are in your walk with God, that he has faith for your family. When you talk about Jericho, you're talking about the oldest city in the world. According to archeologists, Jericho is the oldest city in the world. When we go to Israel, we, about 50% of the time, get to go to Jericho. It's under Palestinian authority. And so sometimes they don't recommend that we go there if there's unrest. There are times that we get to go. It's just a peaceful day. But any time we go to Israel, we're trusting God we're gonna get to go in October. You know, we live one day at a time, amen? It's depending on what's gonna be happening with Iran and that part of the world. But right now, everything's on go and flights are going in from Europe and the flights that we're on are flying in. So we're looking forward to going. And I hope we get to go to Jericho. And when you get to Jericho, you're going to see the ancient city and the excavations where they are doing archeological digs there. And then you're gonna go in a shop and you're gonna have the strongest coffee you've ever had in your life.
It's a little shop about that big. And I'm just telling you, it is 90% grounds and 10% liquid. And brother, it'll give you a shot in the arm, a little pep in your step, amen? And so we love going to Jericho there. You know, I think about how Moses and his generation were delivered from Egypt and... God brought them through the Red Sea. Now there's a new generation that's being led by Joshua, and God's gonna bring them through the Jordan River and bring them to their first city of conquest, and that is Jericho. When you read about that, I want you to think, number one, that was the moment. They've been waiting 500 years for this moment. We read about it in Joshua chapter six, verse one. Now Jericho was strongly fortified because of the Israelites, no one leaving or entering. The Lord said to Joshua, look, I've handed Jericho, its king and its best soldiers over to you. The wilderness was over. 40 years, that particular generation had gone as children in that wilderness, and God had brought them to the moment. Everybody say the moment. That they had been waiting for. You know, Moses was gone. In fact, Joshua one says Moses was dead, but God wasn't dead, and God promised Joshua four times. He said, be strong and courageous,
be strong and courageous, be strong and courageous. Four times he says it, because as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. The promise had been given to Abraham. I told you almost 500 years before, Genesis chapter 12, and then again in Genesis 15 and 17. And then he restates it, repeats it to Isaac, Abraham's son, Genesis 26, and to Jacob in Genesis 28. Then it's repeated to Moses in Exodus chapter three. I'm just telling you, it's a moment they've been waiting on a long time. Have you ever waited for something? Had to wait on it? You know, with Amazon, you don't wait too long. Just two or three days, boom, it's at the door. You know, but you think about it in life, you couldn't wait to start school, and that day finally came. And then you couldn't wait to graduate, woo! And graduation day finally came. Maybe you couldn't wait. You know, you got engaged, and you're waiting and waiting. You couldn't wait till your wedding day, but that day finally came. Maybe you're married, and you're waiting for that first child. We know what it's like to wait. And I want you to write this down. Time is measured by minutes, but life is measured by moments.
Moments like I just described. In the life of every believer, there's some spiritual, monumental moments. Like, I talked about vacation Bible school. When I first came to faith in Christ, and then there was a time, a moment, when I was baptized, and my faith went public. There's that moment when you start reading your Bible, you start praying, you start having a quiet time, a devotional life. There's a moment when you start growing in your faith, and you say, hey, I'm gonna trust God, and I'm gonna step out there and tithe. Tithing is a moment. It's a test. Are you gonna put God first in everything? And then you learn to live a life of generosity. It's a moment when you witness for the first time. When you share your faith and tell another person how they can put their faith in Christ. It's a moment when you see that first time somebody say, yes, I'm ready. And they pray that sinner's prayer. And God used you to bring somebody else to Christ. It's a moment when you invite a family member or friend to church, and you see them put their faith in Christ. Oh, they're just moments in your life, spiritually, as a believer. But I want you to know, you can't just live every day
saying, is this the moment, is this the moment, is this the moment? No, the question is, are you gonna obey God in this moment, in every moment? Every moment of life. You know, sometimes you don't recognize the big moments when you're in it, but God will let you see by faith that I need to trust him. And what may seem like an ordinary moment can become a big moment in life. Am I telling the truth or not? So will I trust God in this moment? That is the question. I think about significant spiritual moments, not only in your life as a believer, but in our life as a church. It was a moment when this church marched over from Tides Lane and came to 1021 Big Bethel Road, and God provided almost 50 acres right here, on a peninsula, there's not a lot of land on a peninsula. That was a moment. But then they had to wait, waited 10 years until they built the first building. in the gym, start having church in the gym. And then, hey, wait another 25 years to build a worship center. We know what it's like to wait, and we know what it's like when a moment happens. It's finally here. It was a moment when just 38 people, just 38,
said we're gonna start a church and call it Little Bethel. And Little Bethel is today Liberty Live Church, touching thousands of lives. But it was a moment that God started with just 38 people. What we see here in this story, the time had finally come. It's a day that God had been preparing them for, for 40 years, and they look at a city that is surrounded, not by one wall, but by two massive walls. There was no human way possible that they were gonna take that city. And yet, Jericho represents huge obstacles in our life. Do you have any obstacles in your life? Any impossibilities in your life? Anything in your life that there's no human way possible that you can make it happen? That's just opportunity for a miracle. And that's what happened when the walls came down here. And maybe there's a huge obstacle in your life. Maybe it's a habit, a sin, an attitude problem. It might be anger, it may be an addiction, it may be a personality trait you've struggled with for years, you've confessed it over and over again, but you just go right back to it, and you keep falling into it. I'm just telling you, listen, you can't fight spiritual battles with worldly weapons. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they're mighty through God to the pulling down of. Strongholds, you want walls to fall?
Jesus said it takes prayer and fasting. Some of these things are not gonna happen apart from, Jesus said, prayer and fasting. So write this down, August the 2nd through the 22nd, we're gonna have 21 days of prayer, and walls fall when we pray. And I'm telling you, it's an incredible time. I just did a wedding recently this summer, and the young man saw the young lady for the very first time at 21 days of prayer. You know what he said? He said, she was wearing scrubs. I knew she had a good job. And then, he said, I wanted to introduce myself to her, and I didn't, and he said, you know, I didn't have the opportunity, and I was too shy. And so finally, when they do get together, he tells her the story, he said, you sat every day, just two rows in front of me during 21 days of prayer, and she said, I never saw you. But they got married. The one thing that was common is this, during 21 days of prayer, they both were praying about their future mate. Yeah. You know what? Some of you right now, y'all are single, you need to get yourself down to 21 days of prayer. All right? I'm telling you, God uses it.
Miracles happen during 21 days of prayer. Well, the ark, everybody say the ark. The ark marched with them, and it was in the center of the army. And that ark represented the presence of God. And I'm saying to you, whatever the impossibility or the huge obstacle may be, if you know Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you, and the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is in you. The priest marched around. They're wearing robes of white. They've consecrated themselves. You know what the Bible says? You are a priest unto God. I'm not your priest. No, you are a priest unto God. And you're walking around saying, well, I'm struggling with this, and I can't get over this, and I can't have victory in this. Jesus said, listen, I can do all things through Christ. Isn't that what he said through Paul? I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. So you go around saying, I can't get over this, I can't stop this, I can't get victory. You're calling God a liar. I'm trying to increase your faith today to say that the same victory that was promised to Joshua,
Jesus has promised to you. And today, I believe that victory can be yours. Listen, don't ever ask somebody how they're doing. They'll tell you. You ask people, well, how are you doing? Well, I'm doing pretty good under the circumstances. Well, what are you doing down there? Listen, circumstances, it's kind of like a mattress. You should be on top of the mattress, not under the mattress. You've got to be over your circumstances, not under your circumstances. Are you getting anything out of this sermon? Another thing I see here is this, that they are moving forward now, and they're taking this city. See, Canaan was made up of city-states, city-states, and they took the promised land one city at a time. And I couldn't help but think about the parallel with our church as we go from city to city throughout Hampton Roads. And I believe that just like timing is everything, and it was a moment in the life of the children of Israel, that this is a moment, this is a time, that God's enlarging our territory, that this is the year that God is going to just stretch our faith, that He's going to give us a greater influence in the kingdom, and that He's going to take us to a new level of faith. Do you receive it? Say amen. Listen, they went from city to city, and they made a difference. They didn't just blend in with the city. No, the people in the Old Testament and the people in the New Testament, no, they took a city for Christ. Jesus said, occupy until I come.
That's our marching orders. I want you to get this, don't miss it. In the New Testament, every city they went to with the gospel, here's what the people said, they've turned the world upside down. No, we're trying to turn this world right side up, hello? And that's the kind of influence we need to have. Listen, don't just go in and conform, we go in and transform, and everybody said, amen. We see here, not only the moment had come, but number two, I want you to see the march, the march. Pick up in verse three, march around the city with all the men of war. Now listen, they didn't take all the women, all the children, that would be two and a half million people marching around. No, listen, it's Father's Day, and so I want to tell you, as you think about it, the men are out there, and they're marching ahead for their families, representing them, circling the city one time. Do this for six days, they were told. Have seven priests carry seven rams horns trumpets in front of the ark. But on the seventh day, march around the city seven times while the priests blow the ram's horns. And when there's a prolonged blast of the horn, and you hear it sound, have all the troops give a mighty, everybody say it, everybody say it, shout. Then the city wall will collapse, and the troops will advance, each man straight ahead. But Joshua had commanded the troops, do not shout or let your voice be heard. Don't let one word come out of your mouth until the time I say, shout. Then you are to shout. Now God's instructions here are very unusual, but I want you to know faith follows God's plan, not human logic. You don't have to understand God's plan, you just have to obey it. Now the first thing he said is silence for six days. Silence takes discipline.
You got to bite your tongue. You got to hold it in. I'm just telling you that silence is loud. A husband and wife can be arguing, fighting, be in a disagreement, and all of a sudden they just shut down in their silence as they drive down the road. Now I don't know anything about that, but I've heard you, I've heard other couples talk about it, silence. Silence at the table, nobody's speaking. Silence when you go to bed, nobody's speaking. The Bible says don't let the sun go down on your wrath. Listen, Tammy and I have never gone to bed mad. Now we've stayed up all night a few times, but it, hey, silence is hard, and silence is loud. What I would say to you is this, when he said don't open your mouth, don't let one word come out. If you're going to have victory, if you're going to operate in faith, if you're going to see walls fall, stop complaining. Stop being negative. And everybody doesn't have to hear your opinion online. You're welcome. I read online what people write and they just vent, and I just put this verse right beside it. I just say Proverbs 29, 11. You've heard of Jeremiah 29, 11? You need to know Proverbs 29, 11. A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise person holds it in check. You need to hold it in. Go ahead and just write it and vent and then delete. Don't make a fool of yourself. Have you ever noticed the extremists to the right
or the left have to put it all on the back of their car with bumper stickers? Bumper stickers everywhere. Brand new car, bumper stickers. And it's either extreme right or extreme left. And they take just, it's like nobody's listening to them so they think everybody at every red light ought to listen to everything they've got to say. We don't care. Don't ruin a good car. Take the bumper stickers off your car. The only thing that ought to be on your car should be libertylive.church. And while I'm at it, let me just go ahead and say, if you got all those crazy extreme views of the bumper stickers and then, you got libertylive.church right there? Take one of them off, all right? I'm just saying. Don't make the rest of us look like a crazy fool. We don't want to be Proverbs 29 11 and I don't want you to be either. Take the rest of it off and just let people, let people follow you to liberty. And everybody's saying, all right. Well, I'm trying to help you out here. Silence requires discipline. The psalmist said, I'll put a muzzle over my mouth. Guys, how many times have we been in trouble because we opened our mouth?
Even a fish wouldn't get in trouble if he kept his mouth shut. It's a good Father's Day sermon. All right, well, not only silence requires discipline but marching requires perseverance. Marching requires persistence. Marching requires endurance. Endurance. And so the miracle didn't happen on day one. It didn't happen on day two. Listen, the miracle didn't happen on day six. It happened on day seven. You got to keep on marching. You got to keep on being faithful. It may be that today you're in the middle of your march. You're not seeing any results. You're just going around in circles. You feel like you're not getting anything accomplished but I'm telling you, stay faithful. Keep walking, keep trusting, keep obeying. Faith makes you look silly to the world. You're going to look silly to the world. In fact, if you will go and you can look it up for yourself, March the 5th, 1990, an article in Time Magazine, it's entitled, Score One for the Bible. You know what they said? Excavations at the ancient city of Jericho confirm that the walls fell suddenly, just like the Bible says. I could have told them that already.
I didn't have to dig at all to know that. Just dig in your Bible, just read your Bible. Hey, I'm telling you, you give them time, archeology will catch up with the Bible every time. God already knew what he was going to do. Listen, if you're not careful, you'll try to kick down the doors. Don't you know the Pentagon and all the generals in the army, they were saying, hey, we need a battering ram. We need to knock those gates in. And yet, Joshua says, no, we're going to follow God's plan. And let me tell you, God's plan's better than your plan. God's got a plan for your life. God's got a plan for your family, just like he's got a plan for his church. And just like he was letting Joshua in on his plan, he'll let you in on his plan. Notice he talks in these verses like in the past tense. I have given you Jericho. I have handed it over to you. It's a done deal. And I'm telling you, by faith, they just had to claim it. And there's some things that are already settled in heaven. It's just a done deal. You need to claim it by faith here on this earth. The battle is the Lord's. Now, I know by faith they were walking around, but their flesh had to be struggling, saying, this ain't never gonna work. We're never going to see these walls fall.
Why did Joshua come up with this idea? Anyway, they had roast preacher for lunch. You know what I'm saying? Hey, I've heard people say, well, I don't read the Bible because I can't understand it. There's a whole lot about this book I don't understand. But you know what? Doesn't keep me from reading it. The problem I have with this book's not the parts I don't understand, it's the parts I do understand. And let me just tell you, most people know a whole lot more than they're living up to. Now, the strategy involved seven days, seven days, seven days. In fact, it involved seven priests, seven trumpets, seven days. circling seven times on the seventh day. And I don't think it's coincidence that the new vision God has given to us is a seven-year vision. Now, when we have opportunity to talk about it, I hope that you'll come, and everybody will eventually have an opportunity. In fact, let me just go ahead and tell you. In August and September, I'm gonna be going to every campus. We're gonna have a worship team. I'll be in person, and I'll give you why I believe God has given us a seven-year vision,
and I'll talk to you about the significance of that even more. But today, I just wanna say, listen, seven is the number of completion. And as it applies to your life, and you think about where you're gonna be in seven years, and how God wants to use you, faithful is he who calls you who also will do it. He who began a good work will continue to perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Look at verse nine. While the ram's horns were blowing, the armed men went in front of the priest who blew the ram's horns, and the rear guard went behind the ark. So the ark is in the center. First of all, don't miss the significance of the trumpets. You want walls to fall down spiritually, strongholds to be torn down? Listen, it starts with praise and worship. You just start blowing the trumpet. You just start praising God, and demons can't stand to hang around. I told you the men were leading the way, representing the family. Let me tell you, there's some men, you're praying, you're circling by prayer for a prodigal son, a prodigal daughter. Just stay faithful. You feel like you're marching,
but you're not seeing any results. You're hanging in there. Man, maybe it's a difficult marriage, a difficult job, but let me tell you, it's like a dad trying to teach a child how to ride a bicycle. You can't explain about balance and how it works. They're not gonna understand it all. Let me tell you what they're gonna understand. You ready? Keep pedaling, pedal. Don't quit pedaling, stop. Hey, don't stop pedaling. You gotta keep pedaling, keep pedaling, keep pedaling. That's what they understand. And the Heavenly Father is telling you today, you just keep marching. You keep on marching. Being a dad, it's not easy. Marriage is not easy. Let's just start right there. Marriage is two imperfect people living together. Two sinners living together. And then parenting is where you bring another sinner into the world. And you try to parent them. And I'm just telling you, marriage is hard, and being a parent's hard, and paying the bills is hard. My oldest son, he was helping me take something to the dump one day, and I don't have a truck, he has a truck, and the next best thing to having a truck
is knowing somebody who has a truck. And so my oldest son and I, we're going to the dump, and we're hauling this off, and he didn't give me a heads up, warning, or nothing. Just out of nowhere, he starts talking to me, and I could tell he's serious. And he said, Dad, he said, you know, I've heard it over the years. You know, when you're a little kid, you think your dad's the best, he's your hero, and then you become a teenager, and you think your dad is an idiot. He said, and then you get married, and you become a dad, and then you realize, either your dad exceeded all expectations, or he did not meet expectations. He was the best, or he was the worst, or he's somewhere in between. And he said, Dad, he said, I just want to tell you, after being married, having children, building a career, I think about you a lot. And I just want to say thank you. And man, he started crying, and I'm crying, and we headed to the dump. Two grown men in a pickup truck. We get there with the junk in the back, and they just, people are staring at us, crying. Man, they must be really attached to that, you know? Maybe somebody died, and they're cleaning out the house, or, man, that stuff must be sentimental to them, you know?
But it was a moment, it was a sweet moment. And I just want to encourage some dads today, hey, your children may not be saying thank you now, but you wait until they get married and have a child. And they're gonna look back and think about you a lot. And I hope that they'll say thank you. But you know what? Even if they never say thank you, ultimately, we're living to hear our voice. Our Heavenly Father say, well done. And so, maybe you're out there today and you say, hey, I look back at my dad and he was an idiot and he was a lot worse than I thought. Well, it just is a reminder of how good our Heavenly Father is and how you can thank God for how good he has been to you even if your earthly father failed you. Well, one last thing I want you to see and that is the miracle. The miracle, now watch this. Joshua 6, 15, early on the seventh day. They started at dawn. You gotta start early, get up early. They marched around that city seven times in the same way. That was the only day that they marched around the city seven times and after the seventh time, the priests blew the ram's horns and Joshua said to the troops, shout, for the Lord has given you the city. Oh, the miracle here is obvious that the walls fell down.
It fell down, listen, when they shouted. And what bothers me is when I look at a lot of Christians, they've lost their shout. When I look at a lot of Christians, they have no shout. So, I would say to you today, why is it that you can shout about the baseball game or the basketball game or the football game or the World Cup or the Stanley Cup or a hole in one or catching that big bass or going out there killing that big buck? You can shout about all these things. Why is it that you have no shout when it comes to spiritual things? Well, the obvious miracle, the walls came down when they shouted. But Hebrews 11 tells us there was a greater miracle than that. Not only did the walls fall down, but the Bible says, by faith Rahab did not perish. You see, greater than the walls falling down, the greatest miracle is that the walls, the strongholds and Rahab fell down. They were torn down. See, the Bible says she was a prostitute, a Gentile, an outsider, living in a doomed world. But by faith, she believed God and was saved and more than just her life being spared, her whole family was spared. She got adopted into God's family. This is the wildest story, Matthew chapter one.
And Salmon fathered Boaz by Rahab. And Boaz fathered Obed by Ruth. And Obed fathered Jesse and Jesse fathered King David. And Matthew chapter one is the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. She found herself into the lineage of Christ. How did it happen? I want you to know that just like the Hebrew children, God spared them when he saw the blood over their house. That God spared Rahab when he saw the scarlet thread out her window. It's the same picture. They were under the blood. Can I say to every Christian father and mother today that you create a spiritual covering for your home? That what you believe matters. That what you love, they will love. What you honor will be honored. I'm just telling you what you prioritize will become their priority. I want you to get it. You set the culture, the DNA, in your home and you can leave a legacy of faith. What are your children going to remember? Write this down. Walls fall in one generation so faith can rise in another generation. Walls fall in one generation so faith can arise in the next. Here it is. God didn't hold Rahab's past against her.
He didn't say you're disqualified. No, he put her in the lineage of Christ. He put her in the family of God. And I heard a preacher say this. No matter how low you have been, there's no limit to how high you can go. We all have regrets. On Father's Day, Mother's Day, there's always a lot of regrets. But I'm glad to tell you grace is greater than all of our sin. I'm glad to tell you today that Rahab's house was spared. Watch this. Not because of her perfection but because of her faith. That's what God's looking for today. And the Bible says she did not perish. She did not perish. She did not perish and I couldn't help but think of this verse John 3 16 for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life Jericho was under judgment Rahab deserved judgment But just like Rahab was rescued. I want you to know that God will rescue and redeem you. I Want you to hear me when I say faith is the difference between destruction and deliverance Are you recognizing your moment? Do you recognize this very moment? Are you committed to the March the daily grind staying faithful day after day, even when you don't see any results? Have you experienced the greatest miracle of all I Talked to you about the art
The art is mentioned 11 times in this chapter and 27 times in the book of Joshua It represents the presence of God and it was in the middle It was in the middle Look at me you can march until your shoes wear out. You can blow the trumpet until you blew in the face Apart from the presence of God walls don't fall And so what you need is Jesus in the center of your life Do you remember the place where in the previous chapter in Joshua 5 Joshua says he saw a man with a sword and Joshua immediately looked at him and said are you for us or against us and The guy said neither He said I am Captain of the Lord's army. It was a Theophany of Christophany, it's an appearance of Christ in the Old Testament immediately Joshua got down he bowed low and Then this is what the the man said. He said take your shoes off now who else heard those words? Moses as I was with Moses, I'm gonna be with you now you take your shoes off You're standing on holy ground And I'm just saying to you today. You got to do what Joshua did stop looking at Jericho and Fix your eyes on Jesus Stop looking at your problem and fix your eyes on Jesus. Oh He wants to work in your life today. I believe in this invitation that walls can fall. I believe it can be a moment When God does something spiritually in your life where you can intercede for others your children your grandchildren Let's listen to this. You look at this verse back here The one in Matthew I Want you to know What happened here touched not just one generation but entire generations And I believe we can intercede today and we can pray that people will not perish an entire generations a thousand generations Will love him and keep his commandments and know him and follow him Yes Yesterday I heard an incredible testimony about a man named Mark and Mark was telling me he said my dad was an atheist He said he cursed God. He cursed the church. He said I grew up and my siblings in that environment
He said it was only after I was married That I saw and experienced Unconditional love from my wife and he said because of it I got saved in my 40s And he said then my children got saved and now today my grandchildren are saved and my brothers and sisters That grew up in that atheistic home. Now, they're safe. Put your hands together and praise God. Isn't that a great story? And I don't know what your earthly father was I don't know what your home environment was, but I know this there's a heavenly father who loves you And he's like the father in the story of the prodigal son. He's standing with arms open wide And he's welcoming you Come home. Come on. Some of you didn't need to come to God for the first time some need to come back to God But I'm asking you in this invitation To do what Joshua did you remember what Joshua said as for me in my house? We'll serve the Lord You know I love being a part of a church that sees people come to faith and and and they didn't grow up in a Christian home And they don't have a Christian background We were having spontaneous baptism and a guy came up and he told me that he'd been watching online and came from another city Actually another state and he said But I've gave my life to Christ that I want to be baptized. I said what? your name?" He said, Joshua. I said, that's for me and my house. We'll serve the Lord. He looked at me and he said, that is good. He'd heard it for the first time. He thought I came up with it. Oh, I love it. Isn't it awesome when you're around new believers and they're just growing in the faith and they don't really know all the stories of the Bible. Praise God we've got a church like that. Hallelujah. It's awesome. But Joshua said, I didn't say it. That's not a Pastor Grant quote here. Joshua said, it's for me and my house. We'll serve the Lord. And Rahab came to a place of faith and she did the same thing. And I ask you, whose side are you on? They made the right choice. I'm asking you to make the right choice today. Stand at every campus, every location. It's the most important time in the service. I want to go ahead and extend the invitation at our campuses. Just come to the altar. Walk down that center aisle. You come and begin to pray. Pray for yourself. Pray for others. I want you to pray that walls will fall. I believe as you come, listen, that bricks
will fall in that wall. Brick by brick, the brick of fear, the brick of worry, the brick of anger, the brick of anxiety, a brick of addiction, depression, oppression. I'm just telling you, those hard, hard bricks of unforgiveness. I believe they can fall in the name of Jesus. Would you come? Would you pray? Don't wait for somebody else. Don't miss this moment. The moment had come. But listen, you got to recognize the moment and start marching. You got to step out in faith. And that's where miracles take place. And I believe miracles can take place right now. Right now. Hallelujah. As people come at our campuses, I want to invite you online. Pray right where you are. Miracles will take place as you step out in faith, as you begin marching in obedience. Listen, don't miss this moment. Don't miss this moment. And as people are coming, I want to invite you to pray the most important prayer anybody will ever pray. That is where you surrender to Jesus. Just pray something like this. God, I know I'm a sinner. I know I can't save myself. But I put my faith and my trust in you. I'm asking you to make me part of your family. Make me your child. I'm asking you right now, forgive me of all of my sins. I want to know you not just as my creator, but as my heavenly father. And I want to live for you. And you know the things that I struggle with. Give me victory in those areas. Tear down strongholds in Jesus name. Help me to walk in freedom and walk in victory. May I always look back and remember this moment and what you did by your grace. And father, I pray now you'll hear the prayers of your children as they cry out. And God, I am praying for miracles. And I'm praying that brick by brick, the walls will fall supernaturally. Move in the heavens. Move in our lives. In Jesus name. Amen. Amen. As these continue to pray all across this altar, I wonder what God's speaking to you. You may be right there online. There may be people right here in this room. You're ready to respond to Jesus this morning for the first time. I want to invite some of our staff and our prayer team down front. If you want to talk to somebody about what God's doing in your life, maybe you have something that you want to pray through. You need prayer over. That's why this team is here. They'd love the opportunity to be able to link arms with you and pray for you, whatever you're facing, whatever you're going through. And I just want to encourage you. Don't leave today without responding to what God said to you. I'm going to pray. We're going to worship together and respond. In Jesus name, we're asking right now, the Holy Spirit, you would come
and do what only you can do. Would you transform us? Would you give clarity in the next step that we're supposed to take in our lives? I'm asking that you would strengthen men in this room to follow after Jesus. I pray that you would encourage fathers and those who are pursuing godliness, encourage them in the Lord, strengthen them in the Lord. God, I pray knowing that you are the father to the fatherless, that you never leave us, you never forsake us. And so right now, I pray that your spirit would be so evident to every person. God, I pray that you would show us what you're calling us to, what you're leading us to in this season. We love you. This is our response to you as we worship, as we sing, as we pray, we're responding to your call. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
