Don’t Quit Before the Harvest | Mornings with Mico

yo yo yo some of my peoples man how we doing this morning my name is Miko and it's just morning with Miko's today I am kicking us off again proposing a thought that thought being faithfulness faithfulness isn't a moment it's a thousand ordinary mornings I received a letter this week or last week from a guy who's been down since 1994 that's that's over what three decades over 30 years man and um this this entire time like as he's been down just over these years he's kept the faith and I was just so taken aback by that he's on his way home now and as I was reading this letter for me anyways his letter it carries like this this settled conviction of a man who has learned it the long way that it's never too late to get back up I'm reminded of a passage in Scripture in Galatians it says Galatians 6 9 it reads let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we don't give up and I think for a lot of times if I'm if I'm honest like a lot of times in in his walk in this as Christians we love like the dramatic version of faith we love you know the altar call or the sudden breakthrough we love the before and after story with this clean dividing line right but if we're honest most of this walk most of our Christian life it isn't a moment it's a thousand ordinary mornings of choosing God again and again choosing God when nothing has changed choosing God when there's no finish line anywhere in sight when nobody is watching and nobody would even know if you quit and honestly in some cases maybe nobody would he you know that's around would even care if you quit right I think for as I'm reading this man's story for more than 30 years right of just ordinary surrendered obedient moments or mornings maybe not even perfect obedience but just as long obedience that's that's what faithfulness actually looks like it's not this feeling that you know that sustains itself but it's it's a it's a decision that's renewed daily in a place in a place that's actually like designed to wear those kind of decisions down and I love how Paul points us toward like this harvest right at the proper time if we don't give up we may not get to control when the harvest is or what the harvest looks like all of that's you know that's that's that's God's decision that's up

to him our part is this unglamorous middle right like the the long suffering in between the mundane day in and day out the ordinary right the what seems like to be you know to have no consequence but that's like that's what he trusts us with faithfulness in that season the the not growing weary part that's that's what's on our shoulders though and and with his grace though right the fifth attempt the 16th attempt the 19th attempt that you as you're struggling you know whatever it is and you keep falling or whatever but you continue to to get back up and continue to move in this direction I think I I want to be clear that this this idea of repentance it's not this perfect obedience it's just this shifting your direction and just moving in a new direction it's not that I never mess up again it is that I'm shifting the direction which I'm moving in at life and that's what Paul talks about when he says if we if we don't grow weary right we received this harvest at the end if a man can keep choosing God for more than three decades I'm sure was not a perfect obedience but 30 years later 30 plus years later he has still kept the faith behind the wall right in the sale from dorm to dorm probably from institution institutions level raised and then levels Lord again whatever the case it he can choose God for more than three behind the wall I believe I'm trusting that you cancel you can choose him again in this season you can choose him again today I hope that inspires you because it's inspired me it's it's it's inspired me and and and just Encourage me, like keep it going. Keep the faith, whatever these seasons look like, whatever right now looks like, whatever you're wrestling with, keep the faith, right? I always tell some of the men that I mentor, I'm like, as we struggle, let's struggle forward. Let's not struggle with God to hold on to our sin, but let's struggle with our sin to move forward with God. Like struggle forward, man.
