Hechos 2, a scripture, a very powerful verse that will take us to what we are doing today. Let's see, from verse 1. When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in the same place. Suddenly, someone says, suddenly, this is how God moves. Suddenly, in an instant, without warning. And suddenly, a noise came from heaven, like a violent gust of wind, and filled the whole house where they were gathered. Then some tongues appeared as if of fire, which were spread out, and rested on each one of them. All were full of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit allowed them to express themselves. I want us to move forward in the Bible to Hechos 17, 24. This is a foundational verse. Hechos 17, 24. It says, The God who made the world and all that is in it is Lord of heaven and earth. He does not live in temples built by men. We are in part 3 of a collection that we have called, Your God is too small. I have said this in recent weeks. We are not saying that God is small, but many times our perspective of God is small. We have a tendency to put God in a box. In the first few weeks, we talk about breaking that box. To realize that God does not live in a house. Last week, we talked about the strength of God. Maybe you have seen how God has shown his strength in different areas of your life. But today, in this part 3, when we look at Hechos chapter 2, the birth of the Church, in Pentecost 3, I want to show you this great God who moves mountains,

who is also such a great God who moves within. This is what I want to talk about in the following moments, about this idea. When God moves with us, within us, we will pray, thank you God for your word, because God speaks to us today, a thousand years later, still ministering to us, with whatever we may have come today, whether in person or online, I ask that you can speak to your people. See in this moment, Holy Spirit, you are welcome in this place. We want more from you. And we believe that you are here with us, working in our lives. May it be your will and your life. We pray this in the name of Jesus. If you believe in this prayer, all the people of God say Amen. I love Sunday in Pentecost, because this is the birth of the Church. Not of the whole Church, it is when people gathered in that upper room, and when they gathered, they prayed, and the Holy Spirit fell on them. It appeared like those tongues of fire above their heads, and they began to speak in tongues. And with that, the Church of Jesus Christ was born. I like to start the day today with the fact that we are in this collection, because I think that sometimes we can go through life with that incorrect perspective, God. Some of you have been abandoned, like when someone is in your life and vanishes,

suddenly, and they leave you, like you don't know if they sent you, like you read the message, you didn't read the message, like someone has been in your life and suddenly vanishes, like a ghost. I think that some believers sometimes have that perspective, that vision of God, like you believe in Jesus, that Jesus came, and maybe you believe that He died, and that He resurrected, and that He even ascended, but now you believe that He is there in heaven, like He vanished. And you are waiting here on earth for Him to return, in this position, in this place. Sometimes it is like doing a spiritual facetime, and you don't feel so close to Jesus. This is a reminder of Pentecost, because Pentecost will remind you that God is closer to you than you imagine. My wife was on a trip this week, and it was just me and my oldest son, Wyatt. I don't know about your home, but I realize that when Don Cheri is far away, It's like the rules are a little bit different. I don't know if this is true for other parents. We have very strict rules in our house, what you eat, what you wear, how many times you brush your teeth. But when the mom leaves, it's like things are a little more flexible.

And the other day I had a night of men, just me and my oldest son, and we decided to watch old movies. We put Indiana Jones, The Search for the Ark. The description says it's PG rating, but the PG rating of the 80s is not the same as the PG rating now. I didn't even remember, which is why my son, Wyatt, was a little traumatized, but it was really a fantastic night. But this movie, Indiana Jones, has to be related to the Ark of the Covenant. It's like this golden apparatus that really sustained the presence of God. When we were watching that movie, Wyatt had all these questions. I had this moment of epiphany. When people think that God is distant, they begin to forget his commandments. Moses went to Sinai for 40 days, and people were so scared that they built a golden well and began to wash it. The Ark of the Covenant really was a container where God lived. This was the house where the presence of God lived, and they built a whole temple around this Ark because they said, this is where the presence of God is,

this is where God lives, because you know that where the presence of God is, you can know what he wants, what he wants, so you have to keep him close to you. But he was still in a box, he was in a physical location, until Jesus came, and that's why the Bible tells us that the word became flesh, so that's how Jesus comes, and he's now in the scene. The audible words are not only thoughts, but they are something visible, an image of who this God is. But how many of you also know that this was a man, he was God in flesh, but he was only in one location at the same time. Jesus himself said in John 16, he said, it is better for me to go and leave you. Why? To be able to send you to the consoler. He describes the Holy Spirit as a helper, a consoler, a counselor. But Jesus says,

it is better for me to go so that I can send you my spirit. Don't you find that interesting? It's like there are people who sometimes say, oh, I need some time for myself, I need my space, I need my distance. That's the opposite of what our God is. God doesn't want to be far from you, he doesn't need space from you. Everything about the Gospel and the Bible is a God who wants to be close to you. He came and said, I want a relationship with you. So he came to the tabernacle, he was close, the temple was closer, but now he comes in Jesus, in the body, and then finally, when he sends the Holy Spirit, he says, now I'm moving in your life. I'm not just coming for a moment, no, I want to move, I want to move inside of you, I want to live, I want to have presence in your life. This is who our God is.

God didn't fade away. God gave you a gift. God gave you a gift with the Spirit. We're not giving a ghost like Gasparin, no, the Holy Spirit. Because what God is saying is, no, before I lived in a box, or in tents, or in a temple, but now I'm living. I am moving inside of you. I am moving inside of you. So let's give a round of applause if you are grateful that we are serving a God who is moving inside of us. I wonder, if you are in Christ Jesus and you have received the Holy Spirit, then how do you see yourself when God moves inside of you? I want to give you some basic thoughts, because when God moves inside of you, things certainly start to change. If you are taking notes, write some of these, because it will help you a lot. God is not renting, He is renewing. The first thought I have is that when God moves inside of us, the flesh leaves. When God moves inside of us, the flesh moves out. It leaves. When we talk about the Holy Spirit, we are not talking about a power, we are talking about a person. In John 14, verse 7, it says, The Holy Spirit, there are people in the world who cannot accept Him because they do not even know Him. But you do know Him because He lives with us and He will be with you. The Holy Spirit is not a vibration, it is not chicken meat, it is not smoke machines. The Holy Spirit is a person.

And being a person, in Ephesians 4, verse 30, it says, Do not be angry with the Holy Spirit of God. In Acts 13, verse 12, it says, The Holy Spirit has called them, Romans 8, verse 14, Because all who are guided by the Holy Spirit are children of God. It is incredible, because when Don Sherry leaves the house, the rules are more flexible. Because his presence is strange. And I like to do FaceTime with Don Sherry, but you know it is not the same to have the person in front of you. Jesus says the same thing about the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit moves inside you, the responsibility in your life is that the Holy Spirit will remind you of everything I have said. When you are walking with the Holy Spirit and He lives inside your heart and in your life, He will let you know over and over again the words of Jesus. You know what I am talking about. Have you ever tried to sin and the Holy Spirit says, don't do that. And you say, who is talking to me? It is the Holy Spirit, it is a person. He is leading you, He is guiding you, He is talking to you. Have you ever had a moment in your life when someone moved into your apartment? Or maybe you had your first roommate. When Don Sherry and I were in Miami, we had a friend from the school that came to Miami, who was doing an internship that summer. And he said, can I live with you for this summer? And I had just gotten married and I was very stupid. And I said, of course, my wife and I would love to have you with us all summer in our apartment in a dormitory. I'm going to tell you, that was an interesting summer. Something that happened in the first week, I remember that Don Sherry and I came from work and my friend, who had moved in with us, had really changed everything in the kitchen. He said, no, this is not a good place for the cooks. And I said, but you are a guest, what are you doing, touching things in our week? You don't live here.

It's interesting, when a guest comes and tries to move in, we can feel offended. But how many of you know that the Holy Spirit is not a guest? When the Holy Spirit comes into your life, He is not looking for cohabitation, cohabitation. He really wants to take your entire life. Take control of your entire life. You have to understand this. When God moves in, the flesh has to move out. He is not signing a rent with your secret sins. No, your bitterness cannot stay, it has to be sent out. If pride or ego is there in the dormitory, it will not work. When God moves in, He has to take out the flesh. Because they are at war with each other. I love what I did here in chapter 2. Because it says, when the day of Pentecost came, you were all together. In the same place, it's an image of the people in the same place, saying, Holy Spirit, fill this space. We want to walk in community. It's an image of performance. We have been a church for 10 years. We are so grateful for all the ways God has moved in this house. We've seen the video of the road to Vukon. There, every time we see the acts of generosity, giving money to other churches. Look at the work that is happening through this little church that was born in Miami, of the power of the Holy Spirit. But every time I read this verse, I start to think of you and me. Because if we want God to keep moving, we have to walk in unity. We have to create space. We have to say, God, come and fill this place. Because we want more of you.

We want more of you, more of you. Think about a moment, maybe when you had a friend, or an acquaintance that came to your family, and maybe you weren't totally ready for this person. It's like, oh, we have to clean the house. It's like, you have to prepare the house, because someone comes to this space and you weren't prepared. Much more. We change when we know that the owner is really coming in. I am a temple. Holy Spirit, move inside of me. Let's see what it says in Galatians 5.17, because this one desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and at the same time the Spirit desires what is contrary to it. The two oppose each other, so that you cannot do what you want. I want you to see this image. The two cannot exist. It's like your flesh and your spirit are at war. But you need the Holy Spirit to live inside of you. When God moves inside, he has to push the flesh out. Why? Because the Spirit cannot live with what the flesh does not die with. This Sunday of Pentecost, we want to create space. To create space. We don't want our pride, we don't want our ego here. God, clean us once and for all. We want to be full of the Holy Spirit. Come on, let's clap. Goodbye. But it's not only that the flesh moves outside, but also when God moves inside, the fruit grows. The moment the Spirit moves,

not only is your life cleaner, but it's different. It's not only taking out the trash, but he starts planting the truth in you. Have you ever walked next to a tree that is bearing fruit? Many times when the tree is bearing fruit, you don't have to put a category on it, like, what is that? What is that tree? No, you are seeing that the fruit is bearing its fruit. Look at me and listen to me carefully. A mark that God has moved in your life is not because of how long you praise, or how many scriptures you have memorized, or how many services of the church you have attended. That is not the mark. Listen to me, the proof is the fruit. The proof is the fruit. Many times we Christians talk about the Holy Spirit, and we jump very quickly to the subject of the gifts of the Spirit. And I am very grateful for the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Many of us believe in all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And some people say that maybe those churches are weird. Do you really believe that God still heals people, and that the Spirit still speaks in tongues? Yes, we believe in all those weird things. We believe that a God who gives you, who shouts through the shadows to people, we believe that. We believe in prophecy. We believe in speaking in tongues. We believe in discernment.

We believe in miracles. We believe in all the gifts. But the gifts are when the Holy Spirit works through you. But the fruit is what happens when the Spirit is working within you. You have to understand this in your heart today, because when God moves in, the fruit begins to grow. The proof is the fruit. Let's see what Galatians 5, verse 22 says, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, is joy, is peace, is patience, is kindness, is goodness, is fidelity, is humility, and is self-domination. There is no law that condemns these things. This is powerful. If you really want to know if God has moved in your life, you have to start seeing the fruit in your life. People are going to see in you that you are different, and in Acts 2 we see that the Spirit fell on people and they began to speak in tongues. It is a gift from the Spirit, but the gift is not so that they can show their strength. The gift had a purpose, and the purpose was for them to start speaking in tongues. What languages were they speaking? It was not a language, it was not a heavenly language, it was the earthly language. Because people were in Jerusalem, where people had gathered to make the sacrifice, and when they began to preach in tongues, they saw the gift of the Holy Spirit. What was the purpose of that gift? To be witnesses and bring people to Jesus. You have to see this, because how many people sometimes get stuck with only one element in the gift of the Holy Spirit, and they do not focus on the fruit, and only on the gifts. Let's see, in 1 Corinthians 14.1, Strive to follow the love and ambitions of the spiritual gifts, especially the prophecy. The gifts draw attention, but the fruit brings transformation.

If you see these verses that speak about the gifts of the Spirit, the prophecy, speaking in tongues, but do you know which other chapter comes from? Another verse, let's see, in 1 Corinthians 13, it's like the chapter of love, it's like the Apostle Paul is letting us know. If I speak in tongues, I can be more than the angels, but if I don't have love, I'm nothing. Love has to be the center of all these manifestations. The gifts are fantastic, and we should desire the gifts. God wants to use the gift in your life, but just because you have the gift does not mean that you are mature in your faith. You can still be a prophecy, but you can still be a bad person. You can still speak in tongues, but you can still curse in Spanish. I'm not kidding. The word of God says that the gifts come to you, it's a gift. It's a gift, it means that you didn't earn it, you didn't work for it. It's a gift, it's from the Holy Spirit. God gave you his gifts to glorify his name. But if you want to see that God lives in your life, you have to see the fruit of your life. You have to see the fruit and the fruit of your life. Because when God moves inwards, it means that when conflict comes, I'm gentle. It means that I'm kind, even on the internet. It means that when Christ comes, in a certain way, there is peace that surpasses all understanding. This, my friends, is evidence that God has moved within you. He lived before in a box, in a tent, in a tabernacle, but it's not close enough. I'm moving inside your life, and the evidence that I live there is that people see the fruit of the Spirit. Last week, I was at a funeral for a couple that came to our church, but after a big battle with illness, their 11-year-old daughter left with Jesus. And for many people, they can think that this is a tragedy, it's terrible. Losing a daughter, a son, is incredibly difficult. When you lose a spouse, it's terrible. When you lose a father, it's terrible. But when you lose a son, it's different, it's incredibly saddening.

I can't even imagine the pain that that means. But I was there, at that funeral, and I saw a man that I knew. is Jesus, and from his heart he declared with all his deepest pain of all life, but he still declared that God is great and that they have experienced a peace only thanks to God. How is it that a man can say something that can sound so ridiculous? I can tell you how he does it. He does it because God lives within him through the Holy Spirit, and the fruit has begun to grow. When God moves within you, the fruit grows. We have to be a church that pays attention to the fruit, because the fruit is the proof, the fruit of the Spirit. When God moves within us, the flesh moves outward, the fruit grows, but also, point three, is when God moves within us, the fire is lit. The fire is lit, and we are going to see that happening in Acts 2. In Acts 1, verse 8, it says that you receive power when the Holy Spirit works with you, not only from the fruit, but from the fire, not only from the formation, but it is the gasoline for our faith. In Acts 2, the scripture says, then some tongues appeared as if of fire, which were spread out and rested on each one of them. This message, we believe that every box at some point was destroyed, nationalities, nationalities, because they began to speak in tongues, and that barrier was demolished. Peter was denying Jesus, and now this man, Peter, is preaching, and three thousand people became Jesus after one sermon, because God is greater than your personality. Thank God for your personality, but your personality is only a group of patterns with which you can work. I don't know if everyone agrees, but God can work through that and use any personality that he wants. In Acts 2, we see that not only, we are seeing that he breaks the nationality, but he breaks the geography.

It began in Jerusalem and it begins to spread all over the world. What was supposedly a religious ceremony, it became the spirit, it spread all over the world. The tongues of fire were spread out. Imagine this, visualize this image. You cannot put God in a box, you cannot put a mark, a category in the fire, you cannot plan an earthquake, God is telling you that he cannot be contained, he is unpredictable, he can move wherever he wants. In chapter 3, it says that the wind moves wherever you want. In John 3, the wind blows wherever it wants. The tongues of fire appeared in people's heads. Why did the tongues of fire appear on people's heads? Paul says that God does not live in temples made by man's hands. God is greater than that. The Bible says, in 1 Corinthians 6, 19, it says, Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you? And to whom you have received from God, you are not your own owners, you were bought for a price. Therefore, glorify God with your body. So God does not live in a temple made by man's hands, but he lives in a temple made by his hands, you and me. And why were the tongues of fire? Because when we look at the Old Testament, in the tabernacle where the ark was in the covenant, there was a pillar of fire above the tabernacle as a sign of the presence of God. But in Acts 2, when we see that the Holy Spirit falls on us, he says, I am going to leave the tabernacle, I am going to leave the tent, and I am going to move now in your life, and that is why I am going to put tongues of fire on each of your heads, because now my presence is going to live in you, inside you, through you. God moves inward, the fire begins to grow.

You can't control the fire, you can't contain the fire. I begin to think that if God is moving here in Woodchurch, we can't stop what God has planned. If God is really moving in our community, that's why we have to increase more services, more locations, because not only do we capture the fire, but we carry the fire with us, and the fire spreads. It's fantastic when those tongues of fire appear over heads. You could see the fire of each person, but you couldn't see your own fire. I wonder how many people are here today who have the heart to serve other people, and you say, that person is on fire, he is also on fire, he is on fire, and I would also like to be on the same fire. You may not see it, but God is working through you. There is something powerful within you. So yes, he will come to comfort you, to also commission you, and to give you conviction. The same spirit that resurrected Jesus from death lives within you, not by your side, not near you, but within you. Now you are of the temple, you are of the witness. Now you are that fire. So on this Sunday, we are talking about a great God, a God who wants to be close to you, not a God who fades away, but a God who gives us, who gives us. We have to have a posture, like in Acts 2, like these 120 people who are waiting,

saying, God, we want more of you, we want more of your presence. I sometimes think that the Holy Spirit has a bad reputation, not because he is weird, but because people avoid him, because people are weird, because they say, no, let me avoid that a little bit, because the church, something weird happened to you in a church at some point. But instead of you losing yourself in small doctrinal differences, why don't we do what Scripture says? Why don't we just want more of the Holy Spirit? I don't know about you, but I need to be more effective for God. And while this grows, and we want to be good administrators of the fire and the wind, my ability to control goes further, but I have access to the same power of the New Testament, which is of the Holy Spirit. So Holy Spirit, lead me, guide me. I want more of you. I want more of you. God, fill me. My friend, JJ Vasquez, came recently and gave us a teaching, and I want to give you an illustration today. It's good water. Is it alkaline? Good water. Very good. Let me ask you a question. Is that full? Is that full? No, it's not full. It's not full, okay. Is it full now? No, it's not full yet. Is it full there?

No, no, not yet. No, it's not full yet. But the strange thing is that when you say it's not full, but full, it says 12 ounces. You're a person who sees the glass half full, half empty. Now, let's see. Is this full? Is it full there? What do you think? Is it full? Is this full now? Yes, what do you think, is it full? What do you think, is it full? For you? No, it's not full, he says, he says it's not. There, do you like it? Do you like it? There it's full? Yeah, that one's full. No? A little more, a little more, a little more. That's what I want you to see right now. Some of us live in this category. One says, it's already full. What if the category says it's already full? What if other people say it's full? Because maybe we have a different image that says, maybe I don't know what it is to be full, but I want to serve a God that is more than enough. It's more than full.

Maybe on Sunday of Pentecost, you can say, I serve a God that is not only full, but overabundant. I don't know if I'm full, but I want more. I want more. And if you're like me, and you come to church, and maybe you say, you're full, but when you get to the parking lot, you're already here. And after a week, maybe you're already full. And you say, after a week, I'm desperate. I'm dying. I'm thirsty. Maybe this is how it was last month in your life. Maybe all your year was like this, that way. I don't know. But maybe we should be in a church that says, you're full, you're okay. No, we should be in a church where we walk to the Lord's house and say, God, can you fill me up again? I need more of you. I'm desperate for you. I desire you. I want more of your presence. What do I love about my God? It's that today, on Sunday of Pentecost, I don't know what you came with, but the power of the Holy Spirit, that He doesn't walk next to you, it's not that He touches you from time to time. No, the power of the Holy Spirit says that you can be completely submerged,

and you can be completely in Christ, and the power of Christ will always be with you. Do you know what baptism is? Baptism means that I'm going to go to the water once and for all, and I'm going to say, God, fill me up. I want to be filled, and filled, and filled over and over again with your presence. Because God says, I can give you so much in you, that when my fire is within you, it will occupy all areas of your life. A fire that has no control, because I'm full of the Holy Spirit. Let's give God an applause. Let's give God a cry of joy when God moves within you. That God moves within you. That God wants... That God doesn't fade from your life. He moves within you. But I ask myself, aren't you the one who fades and disappears from the Spirit? Maybe you are fading from the Spirit, because we serve a God who has more for you. And the posture of my heart, every time I enter this place, is, God, I need more of you. Holy Spirit, I need more of you. I want more of you. So when the fire of the Spirit falls on me, I ask that it redefines all areas of my life. Because bitterness cannot live in me.

The lack of forgiveness cannot live in me. Lust cannot live in me. The power of the Holy Spirit. I need your fire. This fire will begin to grow in you. It will bear fruit in you.
