Coming to Life: 2 John

The book of 2 John is the second shortest book in the Bible, with only 13 verses and 245 Greek words. Although the author does not name himself, the letter has traditionally been attributed to the apostle John, who refers to himself as “The Elder.” Written around 95 AD when John was likely in his 80s or 90s, the letter is addressed to “the lady chosen by God and to her children.” This phrase may refer to a specific woman, a metaphor for the church, or a particular local congregation.
