Let me see your hand come on look around here come on Man, I'll tell you what this is an adventurous crowd look back here. Come on Let's give it up for all of those that were sledding yesterday You know a few years ago a few years ago. I decided I was going to take on a new sport And they said, you're going to love it. You need to try it. It's called snowboarding. OK, the only problem is I'd read that if you're over 50, they highly suggest that you don't start this sport. But it's, ah, that's no problem. We can do it. We can handle it. I jump on a snowboard. On the first time down, my wife says I was on the bunny slope, but it wasn't really the bunny slope. It wasn't the double black diamond, but it wasn't the bunny slope. But I did fall and broke my arm, OK? Yeah, and I had a sling and a cast for a long time. But anyway, I will say yesterday, I hit it again. Amen? At 62, we're never too old to sled with those grandbabies. Amen? It's good to see all of you out today. We are excited that you're with us. And we're starting a brand new series.

Today, it's in the first of every new series, what we've been doing now is taking communion to kick it off. So right now, we're going to go ahead and get ready for communion. And I want to say all of you that are at home, I'm going to give you a minute there to prepare as well. If you want to grab some juice, some crackers, here in just a minute, I'll be leading you in communion. If anybody here at the broadcast campus didn't get your elements, would you raise your hand real quick? We have ushers that'll pass. Hold up your hand real high. Let's see. Yep, we have a few. We're handing those out. And as soon as everybody's got those, we will get started. Also, if you want to look at this scripture verse, it's not in your notes, but it's 1 Corinthians chapter 11. And I'm going to read out of the New King James version, 1 Corinthians 11, 23 through 25. 23 through 25, if you want to go ahead and find that. All right, if you're ready, say, let's go. All right, let's go. 1 Corinthians chapter 11, verses 23 through 25. Paul was speaking to the Corinthian church. And here's the words that he shared. He said, for I received from the Lord that which I also deliver to you.

That the Lord Jesus on the same night in which he was betrayed, he took the bread. So if you would, let's go ahead and take the bread. And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. He said, do this in remembrance of me. Let's take the bread. Let's get the juice. Paul continued on and he said, in the same manner, he also took the cup after supper, saying, this cup is the new covenant in my blood. This do as often as you drink it in remembrance of me. Let's pray. Father, we're so grateful for the incredible sacrifice that you made for all humanity. God, we were so lost and away from you, but you provided a way. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for the sacrifice that you made for us. Thank you so much for your body, Lord, that was bruised. The stripes on your back for our healing. Lord, thank you so much for the blood that you shed, for the forgiveness of our sins. And today, we just want to say how grateful that we are. And as we do this, we do this in remembrance of you and every one sin. Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. So, the title of our new series is Make Your Mark. Make Your Mark.

I have a quick question for you in the beginning right here. How many of you use reader glasses? Hold your hand up. Come on, I know we got a lot of young people. Hold it up high if you use them. There's nothing to be ashamed about it. Come on, come out of denial today if you need to. It's all right. It's all right, okay? All right. So, look around. We got a lot of people who use reader glasses, okay, or glasses in general. So, another question for you, do fingerprints on the lens bother you? Huh? Yes. I hear some saying yes, like, yes. And others, yep. So, I wanted to share that in my house, there's two things that my wife and I struggle over. Two things that we really have never overcome since we have been married. One is, I failed to put the lid back on the toothpaste. Yeah, okay. And Connie reminds me, but praise the Lord, Chris came out with that little flip-top, you know, so you can't really miss it, all right? You don't have to screw it on. That's one thing. The second thing is our reading glasses, okay? And we have a lot of reading glasses, but every time Connie picks a pair up, she'll look at it and she'll say, you've touched the lens again. And now, I mean, I'm so careful. I said, no, it's not me. It's the grandkids. It's not me. I'm not the one leaving the mark on the lens. But anyway, she looks at them. I see some of you holding them up in the light right now to see if you have any marks.

But anyway, you've noticed with this image of our new sermon series that we've got, there's a fingerprint built into that image. You realize that no two people have the same fingerprint in the world. I was having this conversation with my grandkids yesterday sitting in the living room about their fingerprint, and then I went on to say, and look at the snow outside. Do you realize there's no two snowflakes identical? That's exactly it. That is insane, is it not? That's crazy. But anyway, talking about fingerprints, I don't know if you realize this, but your fingerprints are actually developed between 10 and 16 weeks old in your mother's womb. Interesting. And so, as I thought about that, I realized that we were marked before we were visible. There was already a mark that God had placed on our life. And also, that you keep the same fingerprint from birth until death. That's interesting as well. So, the theme verse for this sermon series is found in Isaiah chapter 41 and verse 9. And I want to go ahead and read this to you right now. Isaiah 41, 9. Here's what the prophet Isaiah said, God said through him to the nation Israel. He said, You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth and called, say called, and called from its furthest regions and said to you. And listen to what he said, and I've highlighted it. I want you to pay close attention here. He said, You are my servant. I have what? Help me here. I have chosen you and have not cast you away. So today, I have three points that I want to share with you in regards to this verse. And the first point is this. Serving is a calling, not an assignment. Serving is a calling, not an assignment. Let's talk a little bit about that. Three things to note. An assignment is external. An assignment is task-based. And an assignment can change, it can pause, or end. Okay, so that's assignments. But on the flip side, a calling is who you are. It's actually your identity is based in your calling. It's woven into your DNA. It is permanent. I want you to look at Romans chapter 11 verse 29. It says, For the gifts and the callings of God are irrevocable. The gifts and the callings of God are irrevocable. So the calling on your life to serve God is irrevocable, permanent, much like a fingerprint. Okay, we've been given that call. It's been placed on our

life, and just like our fingerprint, before we were formed, God recognized us. He recognized the call on our life, and now we've been given that, even before birth. You know, I was thinking back about our children and, you know, having two sons, going through that whole process of childbirthing was interesting when you look back at 35, 38, close to 40 years ago. As a matter of fact, we had these classes that we went to called Lamaze. You heard of those? Okay, so anyway, we went to those classes. They taught us how, as a father, our participation role in the birthing process. And so, I went through every class. I took notes. I listened. I was a good student. Okay, I'm there with Connie, and I'm ready to go. Come on, we're ready to handle this. I'm in my 20s. I think I know what I'm ready to do. And then came the birthing. Okay, we're sitting at the hospital, and I'm trying to recall all of these breathing mechanisms, and what I'm supposed to say and do and all that. And so, I was watching, you know, the little chart, the contractions coming up gradually, and I would know, okay, it's getting ready to peak. So, this is where I kick in. This is my role. And so, my role was, okay, Connie, listen, we need to shallow breathe. Let's go. Do it like this. I'm looking her in the face right there, and I will tell you, after about three contractions, that's all it took. She said, shut up. So, I realized that all these classes were really useless, and it wasn't working. I tried a couple more times, and eventually she said, just pass me a, pass me a cloth. I can bite on to make it through and so but anyway after our children are born you guys have had kids They they come in and they they take their footprint okay, and and they they take that and and and it's even actually before the baby even leaves the room and And so they take the newborns footprint now. Listen, there was no resume. There was no accomplishments just Proof of identity. Do you realize something God didn't wait for your credentials before he marked you? You didn't have to do anything. God put his mark on you and he said I see you I see you I know your purpose. I realize you're calling I know what your purpose in life is going to be and that was before you did anything That's pretty powerful. And so based on Isaiah 41 9

We have all been called to serve God and serve who? People God and people that's the commands love God and love people. I want you to look at 1st Peter chapter 4 verse 10 as Each of us has received a gift Use it to serve one another And so as good stewards of God's very grace, and so the Bible tells us that we've all been called We've all been given get a gift or gifts and the purpose of it is to serve one another And so we see here that we're called to serve God and serve one another once you look at Hebrews chapter 6 verse 10 Hebrews 6 and 10 says this for God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and The and again, we've highlighted pay close attention to this and the love you have shown for his name in Serving the Saints as you still do so so take it take a look at this right here It says for God is not unjust So as to overlook your work and the love you have shown for his name and serving his Saints So what we see right here that we see that we show our love towards God By serving his people or serving the church And so as you and I serve the body of Christ as we serve the people the Saints he said right here What we're ultimately doing is we are serving God and he takes pleasure in it And so when we get involved in the church, and we're serving other people we're doing that to show God We love you God And we're being obedient to your word and and what you've called us to do and so I want you to check these numbers out I've got a an image. I want to put on the screen right here Take a look at take a look at this image right here, so Studies show that on average Five out of ten people in the church engage in some sort of serving and So actually the number is forty five percent So somewhere between four and five people that are part of the church that are members in the church are Serving in in some role now according to this research if you look here the bottom ten percent We see what's that say right there somebody help me? Okay So what we're seeing is the bottom ten percent somewhere around two people out of every ten are

Serving in the church, so if you looked around here today At at the people that are here people online We could get a good feel for it if we were in the bottom ten now But on the flip side on the upper ten percent what we see is seven out of ten Okay, so we're at 70% and so I would like to thank your Revolution Church that we're we're on the the upper Percentile in terms of people serving and you guys do you do an incredible job serving as a matter of fact? You know we didn't we didn't encourage anyone to take risk to come out to the service today But but the Lord and and I'm committed to this the Lord challenged me to always have the doors open Okay, if anyone wants to come let's have the doors open and and be here, but again, but again not not not saying people should take risk because the roads are covered completely when I came in and Part of this came it comes from kovat days Okay during the kovat days if you guys remember the government said you have to shut your church doors You have to shut your doors and and and basically after you know hearing everybody and talking we we decided well We're gonna. We're gonna do what they say and we're gonna shut our doors, and we did for a few weeks And then we opened back up But but I do want to say this one Sunday morning I was out here in front of the church, and there was a family a young family walked up to me I was greeting as people come in and the young family said this and and I promise you there was like tears in the in The father's eyes. He said please don't ever shut the church again He said it was so hard on my family We drive from Knoxville to attend here said please don't ever shut the church again, and I'm gonna tell you guys listen And that just really hit me hard. It's like, okay, we're not going to, amen? We're gonna have the doors open if it's only a few or whatever. And so, in saying that, I just want to give out just a special appreciation to all the volunteers that made this service happen today. Can we appreciate each one of those that came out and were here early, and even the parking lot.

The parking lot was incredible. You know, I pulled in here around eight o'clock, and the parking lot was already cleaned up. And I was talking to the young man earlier that brought the podium out. He was out running his bobcat, cleaning it off. And I said, man, you did a good job. I was coming down the road, and every parking lot was covered, and you had this place cleared. And he said, yeah, I wish 321 was as clear as our parking lot. I said, that's true, that is very true. But anyway, thank you for you that volunteer and serve on a regular basis. You know, I believe that there's really two reasons that we serve, and I'm gonna share those with you. I think there's two reasons that people serve in the church or in the body of Christ. First, A, is out of obligation. Have you ever served out of obligation? Come on, nod your head yes, because I think every single one of us have done that. Out of obligation. Well, what does that mean? There's a need, I'm a body, I have a pulse, I will serve. That's out of obligation. Another reason, or out of obligation, is there's just no one else to do it, so I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna serve.

This is out of obligation. Another reason is guilt. Have you ever been guilted into serving? We probably all have. And I hope I've not guilted you into serving, but I probably have, because we had a need. But this is obligation. And so, here's what I wanna say, is that if we are serving out of obligation, number one, it's gonna be hard, number two, there's gonna be burnout. Okay, there's gonna be burnout. Number one, it's gonna be hard, because it's obligation. Number two, you're gonna experience burnout. And so, I was talking with the staff this week, and we were talking about this very thing, and how that our volunteers, how they serve. I asked one of our staff members, Daryl Fane, I asked him a question. I said, Daryl, I wanna ask you something. Do you ever just, when you're going out to play golf, do you ever just say, I dread this today? I just dread going out. I am so tired, I'm burned out on golf. Do you ever say that, Daryl? And he's like, no, no. It doesn't matter if it's 100 degrees, or if it's cold. He's gonna go, why does he enjoy it? Somebody help me. Why does he not get burned out?

He likes it. It's almost like, it's like he would say, I'm called to play golf, okay? And, but there's certain things that I do that requires a lot of effort, and even sweat, and it doesn't bother me. You know why? Because I enjoy it. It's just kind of part of who I am. I'll give you an example. So, I enjoy bundling up with a lot of clothes, and going out, and sitting in a tree stand, in weather like this. Most of you would say, you're insane. What are you thinking? Listen, no, it's, I'm born for that. I like it. I love it. It's the hunt. It's everything that I get to see while I'm out there. The animals, when the sun comes up, I love that. But for most people, they're gonna say, no, you're nuts. You're insane. It's crazy, it's cold. I'm just saying that because when we do things out of obligation, they get hard, and we burn out. Okay, and so, the second reason. First reason, I think this is the first, one of the reasons that we serve. The second reason that we serve,

it's out of the call on our life. It's out of the call on our life. It's part of that marking that God placed on your life when you were born, in your mother's womb. And so, what is that call on my life? It's an inward desire. It's just something about you. It's on the inside of you that I just need to do this. Maybe it's, you recognize that I am gifted in this area. I have like a natural gift to do this, and that again could be the call. Another thing about the call is there's fulfillment in doing it. You enjoy it, you love it. And so, I believe that there's areas in the church that every single one of us can find joy and total fulfillment when we find that place. I'm not talking about doing it out of obligation, but I'm talking about doing it out of the call that God has. your life because when we do it again now we find joy, joy in it. You know I was driving into church this morning and roads are covered with ice and it's like I find joy in this. I like it. I like it again and and but why is it because I'm going in to do what I'm called to do. It's not something that that I dread. I like meeting new guests that are coming into our church. I like hanging out and talking to our members. Why? Because it's a call on my life and I enjoy doing it. I don't dread greeting you. I don't dread meeting you. I don't run off the stage at the end of the service and jump in my car and try to get out of here. Why? Because it's a call on my life and I enjoy doing it. Okay now I only have a certain amount of time and you know and I do need to leave at some point okay

especially when there's other obligations but I'm just telling you it's a call. It's a there's a joy there and I think that every single one of us every single one of you there's a place in your life where you find this fulfillment and I think it's attached it's associated with the call on your life. Now the second thing to realize about leaving your mark is is this and I'm gonna I'm gonna share it like this. Jesus not only flipped the tables but he also flipped the organizational chart. Leave that up for a second. Jesus not only flipped the tables and we know he did that and he was upset with some of the church people because what they were doing wasn't right so he flipped that but he also flipped a lot of other things. You realize that? He flipped the culture. He flipped the whole leadership idea and I'm calling it he flipped the organizational chart. I call it descending into greatness. Not ascending but descending into greatness. Look at Mark chapter 10 verse 45. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but what? Jesus came to serve. Okay he came to serve and to give his life a ransom for for humanity. So humility is the prerequisite for prominence. Okay humility the prerequisite for prominence. If you want to be great descend to greatness. If you want to do something great then then then serve other people. Become humble. This is what we're called to do and this was how Jesus flipped the whole leadership process and the concept. So look at Luke chapter 14 verse 11. He said for whoever exalts himself with what? Whoever lifts himself up. Look at me. Look at what I've done. Look at all that I've accomplished. Look at what Revolution Church is doing. Look at all of our ministries. Look at da da da da da da. How many of you guys know that doesn't end well? Okay when we are pulling and drawing attention to ourself and this is important when it comes to serving. When we're doing that the Bible says that we will be humbled. It doesn't matter who you are, what position you serve in, if it's all about you it's not gonna end well. It may not be tomorrow or the next day or the day after but it will not end well. Why is that? Because it's Scripture. Whoever humbles, whoever exalts himself will be humbled. But I like the last part of this. And he who humbles himself will be exalted. And

that's exactly what Jesus did. Jesus continued to humble himself. You're talking about the creator of the universe. You're talking about the one that spoke everything into existence. This is God in the flesh but yet he chose to humble himself. And so that's so powerful. Look at Matthew 20 verse 16. He goes like this. He said so the last will be first and the first will be last. I will say that again. Jesus, he said so the last will be first and the first will be last. I've got an image of an organizational chart. I want to throw this up on the screen for a second and let you look at it because this is typically what we see in corporate America. If you've worked in corporate America most of you have seen that. You've got the CEO on the top, right? And then usually you'll have managers, then you have department heads, and then notice then it comes down to the workers, maybe even a shift supervisor or other workers. Again, Jesus flipped that whole concept. And he's saying, listen guys, he said these people you know are not here to serve you as the CEO but in the kingdom of God if you recognize and realize what Jesus was trying to implement, he's trying to, he's talking to Pharisees and scribes and all of these people that operated according to the worldly viewpoint in terms of organizational charge. And Jesus said, no guys, you got it all wrong. You've got to flip that thing around. If you want to be great, work on Serving other people amen and and and finding your place to serve. This is this is important So Jesus brought a whole new leadership Concept when he flipped the chart and he moved the servant from the bottom to the top now We see this throughout the Bible. I could I could take time today and and give you different examples We see it with David. We talked about him here just a couple weeks ago, but David was a servant He's out in the field he's taking care of the sheep He's doing exactly what God had called him to do And what we see is God took that young shepherd boy who was very humble and very meek and just doing what he was called to do and And and he was he was this and I said that and I want you to hear me close he called to do he was Called to be a shepherd. He was called to be out in that field

He was anointed by Saul when he was young to become king But he still realized this is my current calling and I'm going to thrive I'm gonna flourish where I'm at This is a problem. I see so many times with us Christians is that we recognize? Okay God has a calling on my life in a certain area and now we start by passing the process and That only gets us in trouble. Can I hear an amen to that? I believe the reason God doesn't show you Your entire life's journey is because he knows that we would start skipping processes Anybody with me today? Does that make sense? Am I just talking to myself? Okay, so skipping processes So God shows me what does he show me? He's gonna show me the next step He's gonna show me the next step and what I know for certain is my next step is to serve God and to serve people If I continue to doing that he'll reveal the next step in the next step in the next step So we see that with David So here he is this this lowly servant out in the shepherds field doing what he's called to do But eventually he will be king of the greatest nation on planet Earth and that was Israel Can you imagine going from this servant this lowly? Position of serving the sheep to the king of Israel and here's something I want you to notice I believe that a lot of his work ethic his his Characteristic a lot of that was developed in the shepherds field. I believe that when he was leading Israel the nation Israel He's probably looking back and saying what would I have done out in the shepherds field? What would I have done then and so I say that to encourage all of you that regardless of where you're at You are in preparation Okay, your call has not changed God marked you in your mother's womb place that calling on your life. That's not changed But but where we are our assignment does change okay, so I would say flourish where you're at Okay, and let God provide the next step you guys with me now. Okay. He's born in a manger He again, this is this is the creator of the universe he comes down in this lowly manner born in a manger And and does nothing but serve other people. That's his that's his lifestyle

That's who he is and he goes from a manger to the right hand of God the Father The Bible says that right now that you've got God on the throne and Jesus at the right hand of the Father What is he doing right now? Somebody help me Yeah, yeah, he's making intercession he's praying for you right now Jesus is calling your name. God bless Brandon. Keep him on the straight and narrow help him to know my will Help him to stay on track. Help him not to bypass processes. Help him to serve me and serve people. That's what he's doing That's right. He's praying right now for all of us He's making intercession for us. Don't get frustrated with the process Because God has good plans for you Because God has good plans for you Let me hear a big amen if you believe that praise the Lord. Amen. So the last point third point today is this You your mark is left on the things that you touch Everybody with me your mark is left on the things you touch Give me an example real quick. Everybody grab your phone. Come on I know everybody in here's got a phone if you're at home grab your phone All you grandkids all you get grab your phone because I know all of you have a phone too Or at least you have a device grab it real quick and wipe the screen wipe it off real good Everybody got it wiped. Come on. Is it clean? Feel like it's clean Okay. Now, here's what I want you to do Everybody everybody wiped your phone hold it up. If you've got your phone, it's wiped. Let me see it Okay, I see everybody's phone in the house. Okay. All right. Amen So what I want you to do right now is take your finger okay and touch it one time right in the center of your phone. And raise your finger off. Everybody touch it? Okay, when you've done it, say, let's go. Okay, I'm assuming everybody's done that and you've touched your screen. Now, I want you to take your phone

and hold it up into the light. What do you see in the middle of your screen? You see your mark. Every single one of you left a mark, right? Can you see it? Now, if you turn your phone down, you don't see it. You gotta get it in the light. When it's exposed to the light, you can see your fingerprint. You guys with me now? You can see your fingerprint. And here's what I'm gonna say, is every single thing that you touch for Jesus leaves a mark. Are you guys with me now? It leaves a mark and we see it. Now, so many times you may not see it, you may not even realize it. But I promise you, everything you touch leaves a mark. And so, I got a question for you. Whose life are you touching today? Come on somebody, you need to get this. Somebody needs to receive this. Whose life or lives are you touching today? Now, all of us are called to touch our families. You're called to touch your children, your grandchildren, those around you. But I'm gonna say it extends further than that. You're called to touch the life

of the people in your church. That's the saints. That's what Hebrews was talking about. We show our love toward God when we leave our mark on the saints. We touch them in a positive way. This is what we're called to do. So, whose life are you touching today? What are some different ways that we can touch people's lives? There's many different ways. What about discipleship? What about pouring into other people? Who are you pouring into? And whose lives are you touching? Who are you leaving a mark on his life for Jesus, amen? And it works. It's the people that you touch. And believe me, you're touching people, whether you realize it or not. And I also want to say that so many people are watching you. They're watching your life. They're watching what you do and how you act and how you respond. It's funny because Connie and I, we were out at Texas Roadhouse this weekend and we counted, and I'm not saying any, it's just crazy, but our church is large. And so about one out of every 10 people

in our community have either attended our church or are currently attending our church, one out of 10. And so when you're walking through Walmart, smile, be nice, okay? And if somebody speaks to you, speak back. We went into Walmart and we sat down, we ate, and we came back and I asked Connie when we got in the car, I said, how many people did we see that you can think of that we knew, that we talked to? And we counted 10, 10 people. And I'm very thankful because here's the reason I said that is that when we got into this pastoring thing, this church was very small. We didn't have ambitions to develop and grow a big church. We just said, God, we're gonna do what you've called us to do and we're gonna try our best to be the church that you want us to be. We're developing our identity. But as a result of that, now you guys are definitely touching a lot of people and people are watching you. So here, let's say this, we had, there were 10 people in Roadhouse in that hour and maybe 20 minutes that we were in there that knew us. And so what if I was rude to the waitress? Come on, somebody. What if I snubbed somebody or, come on, you understand what I'm saying? What are you saying? I'm saying we are leaving a mark

whether we realize it or not. And when we are Christ-like and we take on the role of a servant, being humble, listen to me, it leaves the right mark. Anything else is not correct and not right and the Lord won't bless it. Are you guys with me now? So just know that so many people are watching you. Pick up your phone again and look at the mark. Everybody look at it. Say you're leaving a mark. Everybody with me? You recognize it and you know it. Now, when you talk about touching, and I ask you the question, whose life are you touching? Do you realize there are at least 11 instances in the Bible where Jesus touched people in need, laid his hand, left a mark on people's lives? At least 11 that I can find. He touched people in need like the leper, like the demon-possessed boy, the dead, the blind. He did this time and time again and Jesus, when he touched those individuals, he was leaving a mark on their lives and the mark that Jesus was leaving, listen to me. God the Father. He said this. He wasn't even taking credit. He said, listen, what you see me do, I learned that from the Father. What you hear me say, I learned that from the Father. I'm not here trying to leave my mark or my impression, but I'm here to represent God the Father. What can we learn from that, church? Help

me. That as we leave a mark, it's not to represent us, it's to represent Him. Are you guys with me? We are leaving a mark to represent Christ, and that's what's important. It's not representing pastry or the church or whatever, but just recognize and realize that we are leaving a mark to represent Christ. So this week, I was over at Great Clips getting my hair cut, and so I go in there, and it's right at lunchtime, and you know, they've got all that down now. You can go to the website and check in and just fly in, fly out, and so I'm trying to do that, and I check in, go in and get my hair buzzed, and I come out. Of course, I get it cut short, and it looks like military or police or whatever. It's just the way I like it. When you start getting bald, they say the shorter you cut it, the less it shows the baldness, okay? That's what they say. So now, anyway, I go in, I get it cut. I walk out the door. I'm walking back to my truck, cross the parking lot, and I see two gentlemen walking across the parking lot, and they were carrying a plastic—they were carrying, like, plastic bags. Looked like maybe groceries or some type of supplies that they had been. They're walking, walking across the parking lot, and so I'm walking by them, and I glanced at them, and I just nodded and spoke, and I'll just tell you, they look pretty rough, okay? And I just, like, nodded, and again, one out of ten, so there's a chance they've been to our church, right? So we're going to be friendly, and so nodded, and I continued to walk up, and I noticed the eye contact from one of the gentlemen kind of stayed with me, and I just looked back, and then he said this. He said, do you work for Blount County? And I thought, yeah, he thinks I'm a policeman, and I said, no sir, I don't. I said, I pastor a local church. He said, that's it. He said, it's Revolution Church, and I said, that's it. He said, I've watched you on the devices. That's all he had to say. I've watched you on the devices, amen? So we talked there for a second, and it's John and Chris, and John, he said, could I by chance get a picture of you? And the two of us, his friend took a picture of both of us. He said, I'm gonna put that on my screen, and when I look at it, I'm gonna remember that we met, and so is that not so good that God's given us

opportunity to make and leave a mark in a positive way? So Chris and John and myself, we had a, just a, I said, hey, I want to pray for you guys, and we had a great prayer right out. We're right in the middle of the parking lot. I mean, a matter of fact, John just about got ran over by a car trying to get in, but we're praying there, and we're having a good time, and then we're getting ready to leave, and he said, oh, by the way, he said, I've came to your Tuesday night meeting, celebrate recovery a few times, so I said, praise the Lord, come on, welcome, come on in, and, and so again, leaving a mark. This, this is important, but let's go back to Jesus and how he was representing God the Father. Look at Hebrews chapter 1, verse 11, and Hebrews 1, I'm sorry, Hebrews 1, 3, Hebrews 1, 3, and it goes like this, he said, whom being the brightness of his glory, and check this out, I don't know if you've ever paid close attention to this, and the express image of his person, want to read that again, whom being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Who was Jesus representing? God the Father, and as a matter of fact, I don't know if you've ever recognized this, but it talks about the brightness of his glory, and now here's the key word I want to leave you with, the expressed image, the expressed image, what does that mean? What is that talking about? Well, there's a Greek word for those three, those three words, the expressed image, and I want to show it to you. Here's the, here's the Greek word, it's charakter, charakter, sounds like character. Okay, I want you to look at what that Greek word means. It means a mark. Okay, that's the whole message of this series. It's gonna be a four-week series. And it's make your mark. It means a mark, a stamp, or impression of the exact image of any person or things. Look at that for a second. A mark, a stamp, or impression of the exact image of any person or thing. So what this scripture is telling us, that when you see Jesus, you see the Father. You don't see a resemblance of the Father, but you see the exact image, the expressed image, the character of the Father. Is that not powerful? So when Jesus was walking this earth, they were

seeing God. They were hearing God. And this is so powerful. It's the precise reproduction in every aspect. I want you to look at one more verse, but as you're standing, I want to put this on the screen. It's 2nd Corinthians 517. 2nd Corinthians 517. Most of you could quote this verse. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, that means you've been born again. You've been saved. He said he or she is a new creation. Old things have passed away. I'm not the same person I used to be. What I could have fixed, he could. And I am so grateful for that today. I'm so thankful that he called me. He chose me. In my mother's womb, he marked me. He marked you. He called you. He chose you before you took a breath. And he said, I know you, and I know your purpose. And it's far greater than you could ever realize or imagine. He's a new creation. Old things passed away. Behold, all things, say all things, all things have become new. So, if you've been touched by Jesus, if you've invited Him into your life, if you've been born again, if you've been saved, I want you to understand something. You now are an expressed image of Him. You're a new creation. That's the call. The call is to serve God and serve people and to be like Jesus to this world. That's where it starts at. Have you been touched by Jesus today? Have you really been touched by the Lord Jesus? Has He truly called you, chosen you, and touched your life? Have you said yes? Do you have this new life? Maybe you're here today. Maybe you're watching online. Maybe you're incarcerated. 743 prisons and jails that are watching today. Maybe you're here and you're listening and you're watching and you'd be honest. See, we have nothing to hide. We're just being honest. I need to be born again. I need to be saved. I need to be touched. I need the fingerprints of Jesus laid on my life. I need to represent Him in all that I do, all that I say, how I act, how I respond. But I want you to understand something. You can't do that in your own power. It's impossible for you to act like Jesus without being touched by Jesus. You see, again, we can do it for a while. It's not sustainable. It doesn't last. One thing that I encourage every person that becomes a member of Revolution Church is make sure you've been born again. Listen to me because if not, yeah, you're gonna get involved in

our feeding programs, serving the children of Blount County, doing all these different things. But if you've not been born again, it's not gonna last. It's not sustainable. You've got to be touched by Jesus, amen? You've got to be touched by the Master. You got to let Him come upon your life and you've got to surrender. And I want you to understand something. You're not gonna have it all figured out day one. It's a journey. It's a path. I was talking to a young lady this week with one of our staff members and we were talking about surrendering your life to the Lord. And the question, the big question was is, I don't know how this is all gonna look. And my encouragement was none of us are going to know how it's all gonna look. Just yield your life to Jesus. Give Him your life totally and when He saves you, He will start working on you, amen? And so these are important. Have you been touched by Jesus? Do you have a new life? Maybe you're here today and you're like Thomas. Maybe you're watching today and you're like Thomas and Thomas said this he heard the reports he heard all this good news like we preach about we talk about hey hey Jesus he's alive he's resurrected from the grave we saw him we witnessed him it's awesome Thomas said listen guys unless I personally see him and and and put my hand in the nail scars I want you to understand something he said I won't believe be careful what you ask for because Jesus loves you so much that he will reveal himself to you you just have to ask him ask him to reveal himself to you because here's what Jesus Jesus shows up for Thomas did he not he showed up for Thomas and he walks in and Thomas probably still didn't recognize him he said Thomas and I'm going to give you my version of it okay hey Thomas yeah go ahead and touch me Lord God go ahead touch as a matter of fact slide your hand in this in this scar right here two things Jesus took with him from earth back to heaven he took the scars he took the scars how do you know that because he had been resurrected he hadn't ascended to the father yet he's still carrying those scars why why did he have those scars why do you have scars how many of you today have a scar on your body hold up your hand I bet everybody in this room's got some type of scar why didn't God

being the creator of the universe and and having all knowledge and wisdom why didn't he create the body so that scars would be totally healed and never seen again no yeah exactly he left him there for you to remember for me to remember and for others to remember you see that's a that's your testimony that's your testimony Jesus had those scars and he's telling Thomas put your hand right here and his response is this what do you respond with my Lord and my God he Lord I pray today that someone would respond that way this very moment my Lord and my God reach out let him touch reach out invite him in some people view these scars as a disqualification I can't come to Jesus because I've got these scars I've got this stuff I've got stuff that no one else knows about just me that scar is not a disqualification it honestly will become your testimony it'll become your testimony and and I've shared this many times in this service and even the awake 21 God doesn't necessarily want to cover and hide your scars or you wouldn't have gave us gave that left those scars with us and that whole process of that that Japan uses for pottery the most valuable pottery in the world they call the process Ken Ken Sugi Ken Sugi is pottery that's been dropped and broken and put back together and they don't hide the fracture they don't hide the crack as a matter of fact they highlight it with a resin that has powder it's like a gold powder in the resin then you see that pottery and the value isn't is not in the perfection of this pottery the value is in the brokenness and that's it that's your life quit running from your scars and your brokenness surrender your life to Jesus say you know what I am no longer I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ I was that but I'm no longer that amen now I'm saved and born again if you would let's bow our heads father right now in Jesus name if there's anyone lost watching online or here in person I pray the Holy Spirit would go to him and just like you extended your hand to Thomas I pray you extend your hand to the lost people right now if you're here and you'd say say pastor I need to be born again would you remember me in prayer I need Jesus I need him in my life if that's you right now with everyone praying I just want you to slip up your hand real quick hold it up high let let

Lord, we ask that you would give us a heart like yours to serve others, to love others, to serve the church. Lord, we just pray a blessing on everyone here today as we go out this week. We pray a blessing of boldness and blessing of purpose.
