A New Season - A Crown Testimony

I grew up in a strictly poverty situation. My parents struggled to send me to school, to put food on the table, to have any necessities. When I think back on that time, I feel pain in my heart. I started using drugs when I was 17, and I always had no money in my pockets. I regret the time which I lost taking on drugs. In 2014, the fire broke out in our community. War was banned. I felt betrayed. That's the end of our life. A week after, I was invited to a training at Foundations for Farming. Foundations for Farming's main role is to serve the least and the lost and broken, those who have no hope and are not able to feed themselves. When I reached there, I was loaded with my drugs in my bag and everything which I used to take. I thought that it was just farming. Until the trainers decided to give us notes on Bible verses, that's when I started to realize, no, something which is here is not about farming, but it has something to do with about God and my destiny. In Africa, most people are living in abject poverty because of the spiritual bondage that they're in. And the only way to free people of that is to introduce them to Jesus. That's when people's lives begin to change and then the technologies are able to kick in. I received the word of God, repented and redeemed from the drugs. Foundations for Farming taught us how to be on time, to make things with standard, to do it with joy and without wastage. I see a great change in my life from that time. Before the training, me and my wife, we used to quarrel. There was no peace in the house. Now it is a peaceful house.

We have what we call the four F's. Farming is just one of them. There's obviously then the financial side, the family side and the faith side. So to bring a godly knowledge of what family should be is also really important and key. The Crown Money Map taught me to be a good steward. Before I learned about stewardship, I used money recklessly. Now with my wife, we can sit down and plan. When families begin to start planning and budgeting and managing their resources, their whole outlook on life changes. We have to put all the money in categories. Then the rest we reinvest it so that the cycle should keep on going. I'm now able to send my kids to school. I'm able to budget. I'm able to invest. I'm able to keep money safe. They didn't give me anything, but they taught me how to manage what I have. We teach them how to be food secure with what they have in their hands and not needing any handouts or anything from anybody else. I'm no longer surviving, but I'm now thriving. By the way of using money map and farming at the same time. As soon as you begin to stew things in the right way, that's when flourishing begins. When I walk around my farm, I can see the hands of God.
