1 Corinthians - Marriage and Singleness (6/7/26)
Sunday Morning Message - "Marriage & Singleness"
In this message from June 7, Pastor Kyle continues in 1 Corinthians 7:17-37 and how our identity in Christ transcends our circumstances, relationships, and situations in life. Paul addresses believers in various life situations—circumcised and uncircumcised, slave and free, married and single—with a unifying message: God has placed you exactly where you are for His purposes. The passage calls us beyond obsessing over our current circumstances to live with eternal urgency and focus. Whether we find ourselves in ideal situations or challenging ones, our brief time on earth demands that we live for what will last forever—only what's done for Christ.
Man, so thrilled that you are here and I just want to say a few things real quick. One, echo what Gina said earlier to our team and so many that gave up like vacation time, people that just came and served, man, so many different across the spectrum to see almost a thousand people every day this last week or Monday through Thursday impacted for the future generation. Thank you for being the kind of church that wants to be a part of that and just thrilled to do, to be a part and see what God's doing in our church and just would slow down a second and look around the room and say, guys, we should be walking into that sort of summer slide where, you know, people are all over the place and we do have that going on. I mean, a lot of people, a lot of places, a lot of people probably watching online, but I'm also watching people trying to find a seat this morning, you know, which is, means that God is drawing people to himself. Let me give him glory for that right in the room, which does remind us of a couple of things. One, we got 80 plus seats that are coming, all right, that are, you'll see this a couple of weeks from now, add more space, condensing our stage down just a little bit so that we can add more room for people. But one of the best things we can do as a church family is to listen, as we're going vertical in worship, we're looking for somebody that doesn't quite know how to find a seat. And so you listen, if you go to a ball game, you know, he's got two, got two, got three, help people find a place in the presence of God, because we never know how many chances we might get to do that. Now, if you got a Bible, I want to encourage you turn to first Corinthians chapter seven, first Corinthians chapter seven, as you do, I'd like to take a moment and we don't take this for granted to welcome people and men and women in the correctional facilities all over the nation. That's going to find this through the Pando app and we'll be a part of this message time church family. And we welcome them into that moment in this moment. Come on.
It's awesome. I'm privileged to be a part of that. And I want to say a few things to start with one. I have heard from many that think I may have consciously decided to have surgery the week that I did so that I wouldn't have to preach the text that Ben did. And I can say this morning with full transparency that I neither personally nor strategically made that decision, but I do smile at God's sovereignty. Didn't he do a great job in God's word last week? Yeah. Hallelujah. So today it's been fun. I had a lot of fun. I just, I loved his prep week. I did. I loved it. Today. We're going to lean into much of the same truth. And in many ways, we're going to round out a conversation around singleness, around marriage, around situations that many of us might find ourself in. And we resonate no matter what season of life that you're in. And I feel like the Holy spirit of God in this moment in chapter seven is helping Paul get to such a clarity around things that do truly matter while lifting our gaze, while helping us to see what even matters more. So we pick up verse 17 this morning, it says, each of you should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you and remain as you were when God first called you. This is my rule for all the churches. For instance, if a man who was circumcised before he became a believer should not try to reverse it. And a man who is uncircumcised when he became a believer should not now not be circumcised now for it makes no difference whether or not a man has been circumcised.
The important thing is to keep God's commandment. Now Paul is going to cover a lot of ground verses 17 through 28 that's going to listen to me, help us rightly see physically, relationally in situation, how to have a proper perspective and who we are in Christ. And Paul, knowing the context of the church in Corinth in this moment, wanted to make sure of something, that the men specifically that have now come to saving faith in Jesus Christ that are a part of the church in Corinth, those that were circumcised and those that were not, do not make me explain that more, okay? That obviously many of them wondered that in light of the Jewish tradition and faith, did that physical reminder impact their spiritual standing one way or another? And what Paul, and you're going to see this several times in these texts, what Paul inspired by the spirit is saying, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't respond to what this world will tell you. Don't respond to what religion would tell you. Only respond to what the gospel of Jesus tells us. And in this moment, what he's saying is this, for those of us that are I'm a follower of Jesus Christ. I'm gonna keep this hand in my pocket so I don't use that arm anymore, okay? By the way, doing great, appreciate you, the prayers around that. What Paul is wanting to make sure is this, is our identity in Christ isn't situational, it's secure. Can I get an amen? Meaning if you're a follower of Jesus Christ, you don't have to do anything, you can't do anything to earn your place in God's family. Only Christ could pay the price so that you and I could be called sons and daughters of the king. So what he's saying is this, men in Corinth,
man might look on the outside, God looks on the inside. Man might look at what is physically, listen to me, and following Jesus is not a look, it's that he's Lord. Following Jesus is not about a physical representation, it's about a spiritual transformation that results in this, not that you merely say it, but that you actually follow him. Not that you wear the badge, but you're actually becoming a follower of Jesus Christ. Then Paul doubles down and addresses, I love this man, let me tell you about him, one of Paul's greatest leadership traits is that he's willing to wade in. We have a mantra on our staff as it pertains to ministry, because ministry's hard, when you don't want to, wade in. When you don't want to, wade in, because listen to me, because it's always worth it, because it's always worth it. So Paul wades in a little bit deeper here in verse 20, he says, yes, each of you should remain as you were when God called you, are you a slave? Don't let that worry you, but if you get a chance to be free, take it, and remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord, and if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ, he's giving us perspective, meaning that the kingdom of God makes a greater declaration than any human authority could ever make. He says this, if you're free when the Lord called you, you're now a slave of Christ, verse 23, God paid a high price for you, so don't be enslaved by the world.
Each of you, dear brothers and sisters, should remain as you were when God first called you. Contextually, let's talk for a minute. This would have been way different than our understanding of slavery in our nation, because when we think about slavery, we think about the atrocity that happened in our nation, in our own country. In that era, families often would willingly become someone's bondservant, meaning that they would come under a family's protection, come under a family's provision while providing work services in exchange, and what Paul says again in this context, look, he said instead of looking merely horizontally, I want you to look vertically, that you don't have to change your situation for Jesus to be your master. You don't have to change your situation for Jesus to be your king. He says if you can become free and desire to be free, go for it, but if that's not a possibility now, God knew that when he saved you. That you may be, and this is one of the crazy things about God's great plan, you may be exactly where God wants you to be to bring the most change possible to this world. See, God doesn't always plan, this is a huge truth, hear me now, God doesn't always plan to change our situation on the other side of us getting serious about following him, meaning God's not always looking to remove us from a situation, remove us from a family, remove us from a job, remove us from a relationship.
What God might sovereignly plan to do instead is to bring about spirit empowerment in you in such a way that you might bring change in the situation, that you might bring change in that job, in that family, in that relationship, instead of just moving us to another one. Here's the truth, if you're in Christ, come on now, if you got an amen, I've been waiting for you all week. If you're in Christ, you're not a slave to any situation. Hallelujah, right? If you're in Christ, you're sovereignly seen and even placed by God where you are until he changes that. See, God said. Saved you where you are, saw you in the place you are, knows the situation that you may face, can you hear me now? So that he might give you the grace, the mercy, the power, the clarity, the perspective, the humility, the authority, the confidence, that listen to me, that you might not run from it, listen to me, but stand in it. That Jesus is good enough to save us anywhere at any point and then use us anywhere in any situation. And even if your situation is not ideal, it very well may be the place of greatest impact. Can I give you another principle? I don't know why I ask, I'm going to anyway. Can I give you another principle? I'm in a good mood, y'all might as well join me, all right? Here's a principle of the kingdom.
When our identity is secure, we know that our placement is on purpose, isn't that good? When our identity is secure, I'm a son, I'm a daughter, we're a part of the family of God, that means no matter where I land in life, God's in control. That I'm not looking for my situation to give me identity, I'm looking to my savior to give me identity. I'm not looking for my situation to change for me to finally be happy, I'm looking to my king to be joyful in him, knowing that he can bring blessing in this. Verse 25, I love Paul's wading in, man. He's addressing physical realities, he's addressing situational realities, now he's moving toward relational realities. Verse 25, now regarding your question about the young women, your question, Ben referenced this last week, many of the things that Paul is addressing in his moments is in light of these letters that are being exchanged from Paul to the church in Corinth trying to help them actually know how to win in life. Now regarding your question about young women who are not yet married, I do not have a command from the Lord for them, but the Lord in his mercy has given me wisdom that can be trusted and I will share it with you. Let me tell you what that is, that's humility. That's Paul going like, listen to me,
I think this is God's heart around this, I think this is the wisdom of God, which is, by the way, complimented by the whole of Scripture so that we know it can be trustworthy. So because of the present crisis, I think it best to remain as you are. If you have a wife, do not seek to end the marriage. If you do not have a wife, do not seek to get married. But if you do get married, it's not a sin. And if a young woman gets married, it's not a sin. However, those that get married at this time will have troubles, mostly because you're marrying a person, right? And I'm trying to spare you those problems. Let me tell you what I love about the Bible, it speaks to us about the realities thereof in life. Paul addressing people's relational status, and again, listen to me, you gotta look beyond Paul and hear the voice of God the Father. Starting with the young women, moving to the men, speaking specifically to marriage, this is what he's saying, listen, calm down. Don't get feverish or rash in regard to your decisions around your relational status. If you're single, if you're single in this season of your life, embrace it. It has its great advantages for the advancement of the kingdom of God. What Paul is saying, inspired by the Spirit, is don't waste your singleness being consumed
with one question, should or will I ever get married? What Paul is saying, don't waste your singleness only asking the question, will I ultimately be married? Instead, leverage that season for the sake of the glory of God. Knowing that there's nothing wrong and actually something beautifully right about the desire, but that desire has to have its proper place. Then he goes, and if you are married, your marriage has great meaning. It matters, and then Paul, like a spiritual father, echoing the voice of God the Father, and says, and don't try to find a way to get out of it. If you're in, you're in, you're one. Instead, learn how to make Christ known through it. I'm gonna land with that in a few moments. Let me tell you what Paul is basically saying, bigger picture, let your. your relationship with Christ. Here's a principle. Let your relationship with Christ give you peace about your relational status in life. If you're single, God sees. If you're married, God sees. Let your relationship with Christ, listen to me, let him be Lord over whatever relational status you find yourself in whatever season it is. What Paul is doing in this moment to the church in Corinth is saying, let me give you perspective on what your relationships to people might look like
in light of ultimately your relationship with God. Paul's answering questions. He's making observations. He's addressing specific situations. And listen, let me tell you, and I know I say this is my favorite verse all the time. It's because every time I get into it, it's my new favorite, right? But this last week, these next two verses exploded in my heart. I believe in the next couple of verses that God gives us a greater perspective to any situation we might see or find ourself, any status, any standing, gives us clarity. Verse 29, he says, but let me say this, dear brothers and sisters, the time that remains is very short. You gotta think about now, in this moment, I love this rendering, that's why I'm preaching from the New Living these couple weeks around relationships, because it gets so real. It's that moment, I think this is Paul, y'all poke at me, because I say, give me your eyes. I think this is Paul's moment where he's saying, I need your eyes, I need your attention. I think Paul's saying in this moment, hey, I know we've talked about a lot. I know we've talked about sexual immorality, man. I know we've talked about addiction. I know we've talked about drunkenness.
I know we've talked about greed, man. I know we've talked about idolatry. I know we've talked about marriage. I know we've talked about singleness. I know we've talked about all these different struggles, and it was sin in life, but I just wanna say to you for a second, give me your eyes for a moment. The time is short. I think Paul's saying in this moment, we only have so much time to do this thing called life. So stop for a second and see how much this moment matters. An often referenced reminder across the whole of Scripture is the brevity of life. I'm gonna give you three complimentary passages. Psalm 39, verses four and five. I love this. Oh, Lord, make me know my end. Oh, what is the measure of my days? Let me know how fleeting I am. Behold, you have made my days a handbreadth. Let me tell you what that's not. It's not this, it's not this, it's this. My lifetime is nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath. Now, listen to me. When God shows us statements in Scripture, passages that paint pictures of how short life is, look, God's not trying to make us afraid. God's trying to help make us alive. God's not trying to make us afraid of death.
God's trying to make us aware to live. To not waste our time solely, listen to me, solely focused on our situations, our relational statuses, or even stuff that does matter to a point. But to make up our mind, hear me now, to beckon our attention, to draw our faces upward and look at us and say, how about we live for now what will matter a million years from now? Come on, right? How about live this week, this year, this season for something that will matter a million years from now? That's James 4, 14. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Here's the truth, can we just talk for a second? Our situations are momentary. Even our relational statuses, momentary in light of the big scheme and the big picture, matter much. God cares explicitly for those things. But there's something that matters more. There's someone that matters more. Let me tell you something about humanity and I love this about sports, I love this even about history we love statements that bring purpose. We love the Carpe Diem statement, seize the day. We love those. I got, listen, I'm an Alabama guy, all right? We play baseball too in Alabama, we just found that out recently, all right?
I got, I mean, it's not happening much, I'm enjoying it, all right? I got Bear Bryant quotes all day long, all right? I'm not gonna exhaust you with them, even though they're fantastic, all right? But we love rah-rah, we love coaching moments, we love moments where somebody leans in and helps us to see how great an opportunity we have, not to waste it, but I can just tell you the truth, they're all shadows to what God's word gave us. They're all shadows, they're echoes of what God ultimately said first. And what God has never called us to, hear me now, God's never once called us to give merely our best effort. God's never once called us to white knuckle our way through life or to hold on for dear life. God has called us, listen to me, to live empowered by his life. That the only way to make our life matter is that it's infused with his life. It's empowered by his life, it's laid out by the life that he gave us through the word. I'm gonna tell you what I love about the Bible, the Bible doesn't browbeat us, the Bible actually says, this is how you can actually win. This is how you can actually do it. Ephesians 5, 15 through 16, third complimentary passage, look carefully then how you walk in this season, in this relationship, look carefully how you walk
in this job situation that you're facing, this financial moment, this relational strain, look carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise. Why? To make the best use of the time. Because the days are evil. The spirit of God brought a old quote that I didn't realize was a greater poem, I'm gonna read some poetry to you, watch out, okay? There was a guy whose name was, honestly, a greatly used man of God, I'll tell you more of his story another day, his name was C.T. Studd, what a name. What a name. But he was a stud, but only because he's filled with the spirit. He wrote this poem a long time ago, hear it with your heart for a second. Two little lines I heard one day, traveling along life's busy way, bringing conviction to my heart and from my mind would not depart Only one life, yes, only one. Soon will its fleeting hours be done. Then in that day, my Lord, to meet and stand before his judgment seat. Only one life will soon be passed. Only one life, yes, only one. Soon will its fleeting hours be done. Then in that day, my Lord, to meet
and stand before his judgment seat. Only one life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last. Only one life, the still small voice gently pleads for a better choice. Bidding my selfish aims to leave and to God's holy will to cleave. Only one life will last. Only one life, a few brief years, each with its burdens, its hopes and fears, each with its days I must fulfill, living for self or in his will. Only one life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last. And when this bright world would tempt me sore, when would a victory score, when self would seek to have its way, then help me, Lord, with joy to say, only one life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last. Give me, Father, a purpose deep in joy or sorrow thy word to keep. Faithful and true, whate'er the strife, pleasing thee in my daily life. Only one life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last. Oh, let my love with fervor burn, and from the world now let me turn. Living for thee and thee alone, bringing thy...
The pleasure on my throne only one life will soon be passed only what's done For Christ will last only one life. Yes, only one Let me now say thy will be done and When at last I hear the call, I know I'll say twas worth it all Only one life will soon be passed Only what's done for Christ will last You know what CT stud in That moment born by the Spirit came to rightly believe You know what Paul inspired by the Spirit in the writing of 1st Corinthians You know what every great man and woman of God at some point has come to rightly believe and then reapply and adjust And align look at me only what's done for Christ is what's gonna last And that doesn't mean that we won't have jobs or we won't be a part of families or we won't be married or we might Have seasons of seeing all those things are but in the center of those is the glorifying of Christ It's a supremacy Of making the most of this life eyes for a second a hundred years from now, none of us will still be here If Jesus Terry's come on now, we're gonna be home. I don't care what new medicine they come out with What better way to take care of your bod? It will soon passed So it calls us this morning and I'm gonna land practically with our marriages It calls us to live with a greater urgency Hey, look at me people of God, we're not afraid of dying Let me tell you what we should be afraid of not truly living I'm not afraid of dying Nobody looks forward to death Nobody looks forward to death the act But as followers Christ, we're not afraid of dying
The thing that we should rightly wrestle through but will we live? Like will we truly live? Paul says that statement That we see the time is short and then he lands with a second part of that verse verse 29 So from now on look what it says from now on those with wife should not focus only on their marriage You know what Paul never says anything or none of the scripture honestly ever says anything that diminishes the importance of marriage and All the writings of the Bible it only becomes clearer and clearer How much our marriages matter for the glory of God and the good of humanity and for flourishing of society So hear me say this first and foremost to those that are married or will one day find themselves in covenant You need to be attentionally aware of The state of your marriage which calls for intentional investments into it The truth is this if you don't take care of your marriage, they will crumble over time Hard-fought reality That's why you should take seasons and make important decisions and go to things like we've talked about being referenced last week Re-engaged will come up this fall It's just our intentional way of making an investments in marriages If you can't get into the fall one go ahead and line up for the spring one You should go on retreats. You should you should have date nights. You should have conversations daily Katie and I practice that but Paul in this Conversation rounding out all this truth Rounding out all the reasons why there's been so much brokenness so much immorality man so much so many things that had wrong understanding around singleness in marriage What he doesn't call us is to keep boring in deeper into those things to find what you can't find in a human being And in this moment inspired by the Spirit of God Paul is reminding us of a greater reality You will never find in your spouse or your future spouse. What you have not first found in Jesus Christ And to try to is a burden your spouse can never carry She'll never find your confidence in your spouse you'll never find that level of intimacy you should work on those things Compliment those things but those things are ultimate things And what Paul is saying in this moment man your marriage matters just Don't listen to me, just don't make your marriage
the primary focus of your life or it'll disappoint. I got a couple chairs there. I gotta find better ways to illustrate. I always come back to a chair, okay? It's a little boring, but it's the way God speaks to me, I guess. I get the privilege of standing with many people in moments when they enter into covenant with one another, it's awesome. I mean, it's a privilege to stand in that moment, to watch a miracle where God takes two individuals and he makes them one. It's more than merely some words being recited, it's a miracle. No longer two, but one. Come on, we got that? Okay, maybe not. We got that, right? God does a miracle in every marriage ceremony. Let me tell you where it starts. It normally starts with two individuals. And this guy, this girl's stories, backgrounds, found each other some point in time, and they stand together. And this is how a marriage starts many times. They sit with each other, they walk to an altar, an aisle, then they walk away from that honeymoon, they start life, and they just gaze into each other's eyes, right? Come on, you know what I'm talking about.
Like, I love you, no, I love you more. You're the best. No, you're awesome, let's be real, right? You're beautiful, you're handsome, you're a stud, you're gorgeous, all those things, right? If it didn't start that way, you wouldn't be here, right? Nobody's come to the altar and says, I think I'm gonna hate you one day. I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't do it, right? I wouldn't do that, I'm sorry, we're not gonna have this ceremony. But what happens, unfortunately, under time, if this is the perspective of your marriage, meaning it is solely looking at one another, it goes from I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, to I love you, you got something on your face. To the other person going, we know I love you too, you got something in your nose, you know? And then it moves over time, and drift happens, and drift happens, it goes from I love you to I love you. The words that are coming out of your mouth make me want to bite your nose off, right? To the other, you know, let's be real, to the other side of it going like, you just can't imagine what words I wanna use, you be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be-be, crazy cycle, that's one crazy cycle. Or, listen to me, or they just sit in silence and don't say anything. Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain, pain, pain.
And I'm gonna let you in on something. If you solely look to a person over time, it's so easy to just find faults. If the focus is just, hey, we're in this thing together, and man, I need you to be my, I need you to give me more here, I need more of this, I need, and then, on the other side of it, it's just this, and listen to me, and all you've done is set yourself up to fail. And what Paul is saying in this moment is not that marriage doesn't matter. He couldn't say it more that it matters. But what Paul is saying is, there's gotta be more to life than just this. And the design of God in marriage was not merely this, but more like this. That Christ the King is in this covenant with his kids, and holding hands, we're saying, I'm grateful for her. She's saying, I'm grateful for him. We're following you. We need you. We need you to be life for us. We need you to be security. We need you to be identity. We need you to be provider. We need you to be intimate with us. And I need you to teach me how to be a husband to her, and I need you to teach me how to be a wife to him. Because ultimately, this thing's painting a picture of your relationship to the church.
And look, when a husband and wife come hand in hand, and they work on their marriage, they talk about their conversations, they listen to me, they work on their communication, they do all the intentional things. But look at me, but when they look to God, and they look through Christ to the work of a kingdom, here's a marriage, listen to me, that not merely makes it, it's a marriage that makes a difference. That's one that lasts. Because listen to me, if you live in this alone, and you just come see him on Sunday, or when the schedule works, you'll break this. Because we're good at breaking stuff. The beauty of it is though, it's never too late. You bring him in, he says, look, I'll heal this. As Jesus said, this is what I do. What Paul is saying in this moment is this, live with a greater focus. Live with a greater focus. Don't look here for what only he can provide. If you'll come, listen to me. You'll come in this, and let God work on your side of this, he'll heal all of that. Never too late, by the way, to get a fresh start. Ms. Laura, you can go ahead and come back and play.
Give you two more passages of scripture, and I'm out. Ephesians 5, 31 through 33 says, therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is profound, and I'm saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. You tell you what that is? That's focus, that's perspective. That at its very best, this right here says to the world that Jesus is real. Then I end with the passages in seven, and I'm just gonna tell you, the next weeks, we're not talking about marriage or singleness or any of those kind of things, okay? Continuing in 1 Corinthians, and we're gonna start talking about a lot of kingdom stuff. But I love where he lands in a lot of situations in life, because some of you got situations. Maybe it's not marriage, maybe it's just stuff. It says, verse 30, hey, those who weep or those who rejoice. Maybe you're in a season where you're weeping a lot. Maybe you're in a season where you're rejoicing a lot. Or maybe those who buy things, or who buy things should not be absorbed by them, by their weeping, or their joy of their possession. Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world, as we know it, is passing away.
Let me tell you what Paul's saying, inspired by the Spirit, to the church in Corinth and the church at Crossgates, is listen, don't let your happiness or your sadness be determined by situations. Don't let your fulfillment be dictated by what fills your hands, what holds you back. What fills your hands, what home you live in, what stuff you have. Because what he's saying is, newsflash, all of that is passing away. But there's someone and many some things that will never pass away. Martin Luther, who gave literally his life in so many ways for the work of the kingdom, wrote, O'er him that we know a mighty fortress. He wrote in it, let goods and kindred go. This mortal life also, the body they may kill, God's truth abideth still, his kingdom is forever. Meaning you can take it all, and if I have him, I have everything, everything. Let's bow our heads for a moment. Some of our prayer leaders are gonna come. First and foremost, I'd say to you today, if you've never put faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, most important decision, these things only align after he is Lord and King. Our prayer leaders are down here, and if you need to just come start doing some business
with God, the altar's always open, man, always. If you need to come and just say, Lord, I'm coming to lay some things bare before you, but if you're here, I would not want to skip this moment. Is there anything you'd like to say to God right now? I would not want to skip this moment. Is there anybody in the room, nobody else looking, is there anybody here that needs to have a moment where you put faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on your behalf, where you lift your eyes and look to Jesus as your, listen to me, as your ultimate joy, as your ultimate delight, as your King, so nobody else looking around, nobody else looking around, nobody else looking around for just a second, anybody in the room, you need Jesus to save you this morning. I'm gonna ask you to be bold for a second, because I just want to talk to you. Within the course of this service, you've sensed his presence, God's been speaking to you. If you need Jesus to make you a part of his family, Would you just look at me, maybe raise your hand so I don't miss you real quick. Awesome, awesome. Hey, I need Jesus to save me this morning. I'm here, I'm hearing these truths. I'm noticing that he's in pursuit of me. I need Jesus to change me from the inside out. Awesome, for those that looked, best day of your life, man. Simplicity of the gospel is this,
it's not coming to church, it's not saying the right things. It's coming to a place where you surrender everything to what only he could do on your behalf. You bring your sin and he brings his salvation. So maybe in your heart, you're gonna say this to him right now. If that was you this morning, look to me or not. Say, Jesus, here I am. I am turning from my sin and brokenness this morning. I'm putting faith, putting faith. And you're finished work. Save me, I wanna follow you. Hey, many are here this morning and you need Jesus to come and meet you in a situation in life. Maybe it's in the midst of your relationship. And you're coming to know you're in desperate need of what you cannot provide. That you need him to be him. I just tell you, there's no better time to get desperate for God than today. There's no better time to throw yourself on the work and the power of God. If you allow us to, we'd love to pray with you about anything going on in your life in this last moment of worship. Now's not the time to leave. Now's the time to respond. So Father, thank you for your presence.
Thank you for the power of your word. I am asking Lord, spirit of God, move us. Help us to have the courage to cooperate. And I pray it in Jesus name, amen. Let's stand together. If you need to be prayed for about anything, we'd love to turn this song into your surrender.
