Zion Church | You Have What You Say Pt. 5 | Senior Pastor Keith Battle

Summary

In You Have What You Say, Part 5, Pastor Keith Battle reminds us that Jesus’ command to “Have faith in God” is both simple and profound. Faith is not about ignoring reality but choosing to trust God’s character, promises, and track record even when circumstances remain unchanged.

Drawing from the story of Jesus cursing the fig tree in Mark 11, Pastor Battle teaches that change often starts at the roots—unseen at first but eventually undeniable. Just as the Chinese bamboo tree grows underground for years before shooting up, our prayers, persistence, and words of faith prepare the way for God’s breakthrough in His timing. We are called to speak God’s promises over our lives, to water our seeds of faith with prayer and praise, and to resist the temptation to fixate on our problems.

While we often ask God to change situations or people, Pastor Battle challenges us to pray for our own growth and maturity in the waiting. Obedience and surrender to God’s authority lead to true freedom and fruitfulness. No matter the battles we face—visible or invisible—we can stand firm in our identity as God’s children, trusting that morning is coming and that His plans far exceed our preferences.
