You Are A Missionary

Well, good morning Celebration Church. How's everybody doing? Oh, we could do a little bit better than that. Is anybody grateful to be in the house of God this morning? There we go. You're alive. Well, I'm super excited to be with all of you today, and I want to do really quickly, I just want to welcome all of those who are joining us online. Can Celebration Church, can we just welcome all of those joining us from across the world, across the screen, wherever you are. We are grateful to be with all of you today. My name is Jackson Champion. If you're wondering, yeah, I'm not Lisa Harper. I'm not Pastor Joe Champion, and I am not John Maxwell, but they thought it'd be a good idea to have the youth pastor be in between all of them. I'm like, yeah, let me just add some comedic relief for all of those amazing speakers, but seriously, I am honored to be with all of you. Pastor Joe and Lori are ministering in Italy at our Italian campuses, and then also they're on the U.S. military base there doing God's work. And how many of y'all know our military should be lifted up right now? Can we just thank our military, all of those who serve? And my encouragement for all of us, let's just be praying, praying for our nation, praying for those in military. But I'm super excited to be with all of you. Like I said, I'm a student pastor, so we're going to have some fun today. If that's okay with any of y'all, my idea was not to go up here and try to act like I'm a six-year-old man, because I'm 26. And so I do want to give you a little glimpse of what we do at WAVE students, have some fun today, open God's Word together. What's really cool is what's happening in our student ministry at WAVE, and we're seeing students come to know Jesus who are very far from Jesus, who come to our services. It's really amazing what God's doing. And what's super cool is, one, we have the greatest team on the planet. If you have a student who is maybe middle school or high school, we would encourage you. They need to be coming to WAVE nights, and they need to be coming and being a part of this local church and this local youth ministry, because what God's doing is amazing. We've seen, just in the last six months, 152% growth in six months. Students coming to know Jesus. Yeah, we can thank God for that. Students coming to know Jesus. It's really cool. Sometimes I ask myself, why did God entrust me with this? And God's like, it's not about you. I'm doing something, and God is doing something. And so I would encourage you, if you are a student or know a student or have ever seen a student, invite them. Tell them to come. They need to be a part

of Sunday nights. We do church on Sunday nights for our students. It's at 630 here, and then we have them at most of our locations, and so we would love to see them here. We don't have it tonight because of spring break, but we do have every single Sunday, we have something for your student, and so we want y'all to be a part of that. But we also have a mission trip happening right now. It's going to be on the screen. We have about 15 to 20 students that are in New Orleans right now. I say 15 to 20. I think a few of them got left. But 15 to 20 students that are in New Orleans doing the Lord's work in New Orleans. How many of y'all know there's some good food in New Orleans? They're going to come back about 500 pounds bigger. So no, we're just praying for them, praying for their safety, but I love that we empower people to be the church. And they're being missionaries for the church. And today I do want to talk to you because we've been in this series called the good news. Come on, how many of y'all like good news? I mean, I love good news. I love good news because I don't like bad news. I love good news because we have the greatest news in the world. It's God's word, and I love what this verse says in Luke chapter four. It says this, the spirit of the Lord is on me. Somebody say on me. The spirit of the Lord is on me because he anointed me to bring the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to captives and recovery of sight to the blind and set free those who are oppressed. Let me just say, if you're in this room, maybe you've wondered where do I fit in in God's story? What's God's purpose for my life? Today I want to uncover some things because God doesn't just want to save you. He wants to empower you and to anoint you to be a preacher of God's word. I'm not talking about just on a stage, but I'm talking about in the way we live. And so I'm super excited to share. Let's pray. God, we thank you for today. God, empower us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. God, outside of these four but also God, would you speak to us in this moment? Give us a heart that is willing to be received. And Father, I just pray that your spirit would be in this room. God, I pray for more of you and less of us. And it's in your son's name we pray and all of God's people said, amen.

How many of y'all know that all of us are missionaries? Anybody know? Show of hands, how many of y'all know you're a missionary? Come on, turn to your neighbor and say you're a missionary. Turn to your other neighbor and say, I don't know you, but you're probably a missionary. We're all missionaries. I love missionaries. I was thinking about missionaries as I was preparing this message because we're talking about the good news. And all of you are missionaries, whether you know it or not. Whether you have five followers, a million followers, you have a platform or no platform, you work in ministry or a cubicle, you are a missionary. If you have breath in your lungs and if you have an opinion, you're a missionary. I begin to think about who are the greatest missionaries in the world and I just begin to think about vegans. They're great missionaries. Think about a vegan, like you can meet them and you'll meet them five seconds and they'll let you know they're a vegan and you're an idiot, you know? Like they'll let you know. And this is not a vegan hate message, it really isn't, but I did take a girl on a date one time, a vegan on a date to a steakhouse.

And that was crazy. It was actually a blessing because, well, I just figured out we weren't compatible and what was awesome though was we're ordering food. I didn't know she was a vegan, so we're ordering food. And what's so funny is this person's whole family, like her cousins were all the Duck Dynasty people. Like this is, so I'm sitting there, and I'm like, you're a vegan? So, and I found this out because we're ordering our food and she orders, I order like the tomahawk. I'm like, give me the biggest tomahawk. And I did that because it was the most expensive thing and I wanted her to know like I got us and I didn't have us, but I wanted her to think that, I was like, I want you to think that I got something that you don't have and it's money. And so I ordered the big tomahawk and then she orders a salad. Which, guys, if you're on a date, that is the greatest thing a woman could ever order. A salad, because you're like, yeah, you eat that $18 salad all day long. That's fine. And she's like, I was like, do you want any protein? I'm like, because I have money for some protein if you want to throw that on there. And she was like, no, I don't want any protein. I'm vegan. And so I'm like, okay, cool.

I was like, why? Why? And she began to tell me how I was slowly dying and how she was just becoming more like Jesus and all this stuff. I'm like, Jesus ain't meat. So anyway, she began to tell me how I was dying, like slowly, it was like, you're slowly dying. As I stuffed my face with this medium rare tomahawk steak, I stopped using a fork because I'm like, I want you to know how undignified I could get with this. She just told me, she's like, you're slowly dying. And I said, if this is slowly dying, then I don't want to live, right? Why would I want to live? This is awesome. We're all missionaries, right? So she's a missionary because she's a vegan and she loves to talk about it, but we're all missionaries for something. Whether you know it or not, you're a missionary for something. You have a cause of some sort that you want to live for. You have something that you have an opinion about. Whether you know it or not, you are a missionary. Missionaries love things, therefore they talk about things. They center their lives around these things. If you love something, you will become a witness or a missionary for this thing. Like, there's this thing called a marathon that people run.

They're crazy enough to run marathons. They're marathon missionaries, right? You see them running downtown Georgetown and they never have a shirt on. And you're like, brother, put a shirt on. Nobody wants to see that. It's four in the morning. I'm trying to meet with God and you're running without a shirt. Nobody wants to see that. Marathon missionaries are there. You have CrossFit missionaries. Come on. I'm going after all the fitness things because I am not any of these things. CrossFit missionaries. How do you know somebody's in CrossFit? You just meet them. They're like, hey, my name's CrossFit. Good to meet you. We have our high schoolers. We have a lot of high schoolers and if I had them all stand up, you would see their pants and they're abysmal. They're crazy. They're so large. They're missionaries for these baggy pants. I'm like, are you scared of falling? the curb, you need parachutes attached to your left and right leg, I don't know.

Middle schoolers, come on parents, middle schoolers, they're Fortnite Roblox missionaries. They love talking about missionaries. I, for one, other than being a pastor, I feel like I'm a missionary for two things, and it's golf and kava. I love golf, and then I love finishing my golf round to go to kava. Anybody else like golf or kava, or neither? Just raise your hand, please, somebody. I love both of those things, and you know that I love both of those things because if you see me in the lobby, I'll be doing some practice swing in front of, like everyone's gonna be wondering, what am I doing, and I'm hitting a little butter cut into a nice green on hole 18. Like, that's what I love to do. I love to golf, I love to eat kava. I went to kava for my first time ever, and I called 12 people about how amazing my meal was. Why, because I love something, and let me just say this. When you love something, when you believe in something, you will tell everybody about it. There's not a person you would encounter that you wouldn't talk about. When you shoot a good golf round, you call all your buddies. I gotta tell you about this thing

that just happened to me. It's amazing. When you love something, you'll stake your life on it. So why is it, though, that we're so quick to witness on behalf of things in this world, but we're so slow to witness on behalf of the good news of Jesus? We'll call anybody. Somebody posts something on their story about their political affiliation, and you're quick to text, why? Because you're like, no, no, no, you can't believe like that. Somebody has a sign in their yard, you're quick to immediately write them off. You can't believe like that. You're quick to post your opinion on something, on social media, or text somebody, or say something, why? Because you believe in something, and you become a missionary for something, and we're so quick to do it for the things of this world, but we're so slow to do it for Jesus. What would our lives look like if we were quicker to do and be a missionary and a witness for Jesus than we were the things of this world? We're all a missionary. Just depends on what you're a missionary for, because if you truly believe in something,

you'll stake your life on it. If we truly believe that we have the good news of Jesus Christ, we will tell somebody about it. We have the greatest news ever, and the greatest news ever is not just personal to you. The greatest news ever is not just self-help for you. It's not just something that you do and participate in so that you can have a better life. No, the good news is great because a man named Jesus came down from heaven to earth to die a sinner's death on a cross that we deserved, and he died for me and you, and he died not just for you, but for the neighbor next to you. The good news of Jesus is that it's for everybody. The good news of Jesus is that it's for the people you don't like, for the people you disagree with. The good news of Jesus is that it has no boundaries. The good news is for everybody. Today, I wanna talk to you about how do we share this, but we're gonna start in Luke chapter 24. That's where I wanna camp out. This is a Sunday, Luke chapter 24. This is a Sunday known as now Easter Sunday. Two days earlier, Jesus had been crucified. Now rumors are spreading that he is alive, and the disciples gather. The disciples are gathering together,

trying to figure out, they're in this room, trying to figure out if these rumors are true. Come on, has anybody ever heard some rumors in their life? And you're trying to figure out, man, are they true? You gather together, come on. All the moms in the neighborhood, they find out about this kid that's ding-dong ditching, and they gather and say, we're gonna figure out who this kid is. We're gonna figure out, is that kid that person's kid? You know, like, I was talking to a student the other day. He was like, yeah, I was ding-dong ditching this kid, or this mom the other day. This is a 13-year-old. And he got caught. And so he had a golf cart. So he runs out of his golf cart, and this person starts following him. Just, I mean, runs into the golf cart. I'm like, why do we hate ding-dong ditchers all of a sudden? Like, can we just, can I just be the youth pastor real quick? Let kids ding-dong ditch, please. It's better than being on an iPad. Anybody agree with that? I'm like, if you could get off the iPad, ding-dong ditch, I don't know. It's way better. Anyways. Sorry.

I told you I was gonna be a youth pastor. They're all together. They're talking out. They're trying to figure out what is happening. And so they're together. They're like, well, I saw him in this place, and I heard about him in this place, and we. went to the tomb and he wasn't there and I did confirm that his grave clothes were there but he was not there and they're trying to figure out is this fake news or not? How many of y'all know we live in a world of fake news? That's not a political statement. You watch this news site and you watch this news site and they have completely different things and you're trying to decipher is this real or is this not? And that's what they're trying to do. Is this a ghost? Is this our emotion? Was this AI or not? I watched a video on Instagram of a golden retriever doing Gangnam Style and I was like, man, that's pretty cool, you know? I believed it. And so I went home to my parents and I said, hey, Goose, come here. I started playing Gangnam Style, I was like, go. And Goose didn't do anything and I re-watched the video, I showed Goose, I was like, you'll never be like this dog. And come to find out, it was all AI, right?

We don't know what's AI and what's not. This is what they're trying to figure out. Is this real or is this not? Pick up in verse 36, it says, now while they were telling these things, Jesus himself suddenly stood in their midst and said to them, peace be with you. The first words Jesus says to the disciples is peace be with you. You know, this was common in that day. That was a common greeting in that day but in this moment it meant so much more because these disciples who had given everything, their whole lives, their jobs, their reputation, they are trying to figure out if this man that they literally abandoned their life for is worth in what he says that he was. They're trying to figure out, was this guy actually the guy that he said he was? I don't have a job, I'm not doing the thing that I wanted to do in the first place. I followed this guy, I put my whole reputation on the line for this guy and now I don't know if this man's gonna come back. You can imagine in that moment, they're freaking out in this room trying to figure out, is he who he says he was? And then Jesus appears. When all those disciples were holding their breath, waiting to see, was this guy, was this whole thing

just a lie, they're holding their breath, Jesus shows up and he says, peace be with you. Why does he say peace be with you? Well, let me just say, he says this because they needed peace in this moment more than they've ever needed peace in their life. Was my life a waste, is what they're wondering. They're holding their breath, but Jesus doesn't just say, peace be with you, from an intercom from heaven, Jesus presences himself in the midst of these doubting disciples. Let me just say this about you. Jesus won't just talk to you through this, Jesus will presence himself in your life. Presences himself in this room. And now the doubt that they were experiencing and it turned into something else and they didn't know what it was, but their doubt turned into celebration because what they had believed in came true. Jesus presences himself and I was thinking about this, how the world just keeps you holding your breath. The world will always keep you holding your breath. More car, more money, new job, new city, new wife, new husband, new family, new this, new that, I want this and I want that and the world always keeps you holding your breath because you'll never truly have peace unless you have the presence of Jesus. Jesus shows up, he says, peace be with you

and I'm not just saying it, it's not lip service, I'm here, I am the embodiment of peace and we see in verse 37, but they were startled and frightened and thought they were looking at a spirit or a ghost, some translation saying, he said to them, why are you frightened? And why are doubts arising in your heart? See my hands and my feet that it is I myself, touch me and see because I have. He says this, while they were still, he says, touch my hands, touch my feet, while they still could not believe it because of their joy and their astonishment, he said to them, have you anything here to eat? And they served him a piece of fish and he took it and he ate it in front of them. You know, I think this is funny, one, because Jesus is such like, this is most college, like college kid coming home, he sees his parents, they're excited to see him, they're like, oh my gosh, you're alive, I can't believe this and Jesus's first words are like, do you have anything to eat? What'd you make me, you know, like that was me every single time I came home from college, I'm like, where are the peach rolls? It'd be awesome if you had some peach rolls in the oven right now, mom, like that would be great. Never ended well for me when you say stuff like that, but that's what I did and so he's like,

yeah, you have anything to eat? But he's doing that, what, he wants to prove to them that he is actually who he is and he could see, but also that he is who he is in flesh. So he has this moment. But then the other thing that's funny to me is that Jesus, it says he appears in this room. In other words, these doors were locked. He literally, he appears in this room. He spawns in the room. He just literally, I mean like, guys, through the wall. Teleports into this room. And then Jesus asks, and I think this is hilarious. Jesus asks, he's like, why are y'all afraid? I'd be like, Jesus, why are, no, no. You can't, what do you mean why am I afraid? You just teleported through a wall. We thought you were dead. Now you're here. The door's still closed. You weren't supposed to get in here. And now you're here and Jesus is like, yo, what are y'all freaking out about? You, you know, like, I'm freaking out about you. I don't know if you're real or not. This is what the moment is that Jesus is like, why are you freaking out? It really is a verse that you could just be like, this is how you know it's God. And man is because he could be like,

why are y'all freaking out after he teleports through a wall? Anyways, okay, cool. Then we have in verse 44 says this. Now he said to them, these are my words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things that are written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. Then he opens their minds to understand the scriptures. He said to them, so it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance and forgiveness would be proclaimed in his name to all nations beginning from here, Jerusalem. And it says this, verse 48, you are witnesses. You are witnesses. This is your identity in Christ is that you are a witness. We don't need to have an identity crisis when God's word tells us what we are. We are witnesses for Jesus. You don't have to worry about what am I supposed to do with my life? Guys, let me just tell you, you're supposed to be a witness on behalf of the word of God, a witness on behalf of the man Jesus. Jesus makes it very clear. Your purpose is to be a missionary, a witness for me. How that looks in your life and your job and your family may look different across this room, but the truth is all of us in our purpose

is to be a witness on behalf of Jesus. And it says this, and behold, I'm sending the promise of my father upon you, but you are here to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high. And we see later in Acts chapter one, verse eight, but you will receive power. And this is Jesus's last words on earth. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem and all of Judea and in Samaria and as far as the remotest parts of the earth. Jesus's last words are this, you shall be my witnesses. I don't know if you've ever thought about this, but what are you gonna put on your tombstone or what your last words would be? But you probably would think those words out. If you're anything like me, you would think about what should I say, how could I say what I really wanna say? What's the last thing that I wanna leave you with? And the God who came down to be man says this, you shall be my witnesses. If you don't think that's coincidence, because it's not, it's intentional. God knew that the most important message that he could leave behind was that we, me and you and believers were meant to be witnesses, significant.

We know that Jesus isn't dead, but that would be his tombstone message. You are my witnesses. And he ascends up into heaven. You know, the good news isn't just good because he died and rose and proved himself to be true. That is the foundation of it. The good news is, about the good news is that it's for everybody. And it's for everybody to carry. A witness for Jesus is not just someone who preaches. It's not just someone who stands up on the stage, who's in ministry. A witness is someone who faithfully represents something they believe in. That's what a witness is. You represent it everywhere you go. You don't have to just preach it from the mountaintops. You don't have to have a sign on a street corner. Your job is to represent Christ. And there's a man that we're gonna put up on the screen. Last week, he went to be with the Lord. His name was Mr. Dwight. That man was a witness. That man preached some of the greatest sermons we've ever seen in this building, and he was never on this stage. Let me just say, the greatest sermon you'll ever preach, keep this photo up, the greatest sermon that you will ever preach in your life.

It is not on a stage, it is with your life. And this man preached a sermon every single Sunday. Maybe you didn't know it, but he was a witness. He embodied what it meant to be a faithful steward of what God's done in his life. Guys, the good news is good because God saved a man like Dwight so that he could be a part of helping others come to know Jesus just like he did. That man was a witness. My prayer for all of you today is that you would understand that you don't have to be on a stage to be a missionary. You don't have to go across the country to be a missionary. Your job is to be faithfully and to represent Jesus everywhere you go. Charles Spurgeon says this, that every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter. So you're either a missionary as a Christian or you're an imposter. The job of a Christian is not to be known as Mr. Holy Guy and you walk into the rooms and people get stiff. No, your job is to walk in and be a deliverer of hope, a deliverer of peace, of patience, of kindness. That is our job as a Christian. It is not to sit in a Sunday morning service and then leave and not do anything with our faith. It is to take what we learn here and to share it with everybody that you come encounter with. That's your job as a Christian. It's to be a missionary.

As I mentioned before that I was, there's a lot of different missionaries in this room and I, for one, was a golf missionary, right? We talked about this. We're gonna go back to this golf thing because I love golf. I would love to play golf today. If anybody wants to have the tea time with an available spot, I'll be there with you. I love golf. I'm a missionary for golf. But it all started with this moment in 2019. I went to the Masters when Tiger Woods won the Masters. It was an amazing moment. Man, it was so, I mean like every single thing about that place was amazing. Me and my dad went. We ate about 25 ice cream sandwiches. The grass was perfect. The sandwiches were perfect. Everything about this place was perfect. We had this experience where we saw Tiger Woods from me to this podium and you're sitting there like, oh my gosh, it's Tiger Woods. I mean everything about this was amazing. I don't know if you've found yourself just in awe of something before or in amazement of something before. This is the moment that I was in. I was amazed by this experience and what happened was I just could not keep it in.

I had to go home and I started playing golf. I was terrible. I was shooting 130 and that was good at the time. You know, you're like, man, I broke 200. God's doing something. I mean, I loved golf. I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I was going to the range. I was buying clubs. I mean, this was my life. So then I started playing, started getting better. Started getting better. Started shooting in the 90s, 80s and then I met a guy named Carson Baca who was at Auburn with me and he was on the Auburn golf team. He would sneak me into the facility at 5 a.m. I never would wake up at 5 a.m. for anything, ever. I don't think anybody was ever born to be woken up at 5 a.m. Like, I just don't think that's godly. I don't know. Get up right before the sun goes up and you're like, Jesus, right? Like, I don't know about 5 a.m. That's kind of crazy. Think you're better than everybody? Anyways, I'd wake up though at 5 a.m. I'd go to the golf facility. Why?

Because I was in love with this thing. I loved it. I was getting better at it. I was, there's something about it and it just took over my entire life to the point where one time the coach shows up, the head coach of Auburn Golf and I'm hitting in this hitting bay that I'm not supposed to be in and he goes, who is this guy? And I'm like, wouldn't you like to know, weather boy? You know, like, you don't know. I'm Tiger's little brother, buddy. No, but my friend goes, oh, this is a high school phenom. He's a high school phenom. And I'm like, yeah, coach, you know? And he was like, okay, let me see you swing. And I mean, I proceeded to shank about 12 balls just straight right every time. And he was like, you gotta go. I got kicked out and never went back to the golf facility. Man, I was obsessed with golf though. I just kept coming back. I don't know about you, but this is kind of like the progression of a witness for Jesus or a witness for anything is the first thing is you become amazed by Jesus. You become amazed by Jesus. Let me ask you this. When's the last time you were amazed by Jesus?

We sing the same songs that five years ago you were crying and weeping about because you realized how a God like that could love a person like you. And now you're just like, I don't like this song anymore. This song doesn't scratch the itch. Like I want it to. The melody's kind of annoying. You're just, you've lost your amazement for God. If you want to be a missionary, if you want to be a witness, you must first become amazed by God. Let me ask you, when's the last time you were amazed by God? I love this verse. John 4, it's the woman at the well, she shows up to fill her water pot and Jesus is there and says, the Samaritan woman said to him, you are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman, how can it be that you ask me for a drink? How can you ask me for a drink? I love this part, it says this, for Jews do not associate with Samaritans. So this was not normal, guys. This was not normal that a Jew would associate himself with Samaritans. Guys, let me just say, if you're lacking amazement for God, you need to be amazed that a holy and perfect God would associate himself with unholy, imperfect people like us. When we're amazed by God,

it's knowing how could a holy God, a perfect God, a wonderful God, the God that crafted the heavens and crafted the stars and the sky and the earth and the mountains, how could a God like that love a person like me? And that's just what's so amazing about this is that you don't have to be perfect for him to love you, he loves you in spite. That's amazing. If God never did another thing in our lives, if God never did another thing in my life, guys, that would be enough. It's more than we deserve. How could a man like that associate himself with men like us? I don't know, but it's the God that we love. It's the God that we serve. That's how good he is. The second thing is this. You commit to Jesus. The progression is you become amazed by Jesus, then you commit to Jesus. Committing your life looks like attaching yourself to someone. Let me just say this. When I put this ring on my finger and I got married, I attached myself to my wife, Kendall. There's not an option anymore. You don't have like, I don't like wake up one day and be like, I don't know about today.

How would that go? Wouldn't go good. No, every day, I have attached myself. So there's nothing, I don't know any way outside of this other than to be married to Kendall. Let me just say, God is not interested in an open relationship with us. He's not, oh, you could, yeah, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, you could be with the world, then the rest of the days, I'll take you. No, no, no, God is not interested in that. You must attach yourself to him. And when you begin to attach yourself, I love what John four says this. The woman said to him, sir, give me water so that I won't get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water. She understood that if I just say yes and commit my life to Jesus in this moment, I won't have to keep going to other things because I know I'm fully satisfied with him. If you haven't committed your life to Jesus because you've tried everything else and you keep thinking that there's something that's gonna satisfy like Jesus, let me just say, it's so worth committing your life to Jesus because you understand, and once you're in it, I promise you, you will never grow thirsty again. He's the ultimate, he's the ultimate water. He's the ultimate living water.

He's the ultimate, I mean, everything that he's offering you is everything you'll need. What's amazing is we think, oh, this is all that I'll need, but I want some more. Guys, no, he goes above and beyond. He gives us life and life abundantly. You commit your life to Jesus, let me just say, you'll never thirst for the world again. It's not that you won't have moments, no, no, no. It's reminding yourself, and number three, your life is changed by Jesus. Whenever you commit your life to Jesus and you walk with Jesus, your life just begins to be changed by Jesus. In that past verse, she said, he told her, go call your husband and come back. I didn't read this, but it says John 14, or 15 through 16, says this woman said, sir, give me the water. I'll never be thirsty, never has to draw, and then this part, he told her, go call your husband. And then she was like, I don't have a husband. Jesus said, you're right when you say you have no husband. The fact is you have five husbands, and the man that you have is not your husband. What you have said is just quite true, and then leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, what water jar do you need to leave today in this room? What thing in your life do you need to leave back? And let me just say, her life has changed

because she left her water jar. Repentance looks a lot like this. It's leaving your water jar and understanding, okay, I'm gonna go God's way. I've gone my way, I've tried to fill up the world's way, but let me just say, that never satisfied me. Eyes like Jesus, your life begins to change whenever you begin to drink from the water of Jesus. Your life is changed. In verse, and then the last one is this. You just can't shut up about Jesus. You're amazed by Jesus, you commit to Jesus, Jesus changes your life, and then you just can't stay silent about Jesus. How could we stay silent about a man who changed everything about our lives? How could you be so quiet of something that has changed everything about your life? You were once depressed and now you have joy. You once were filled with anxiety and now you have peace. How could you stay silent about Jesus because he saved everything about you? Let me just say, when you have been encountered by a loving father and he has changed everything about the way you live, the way you think, the way you look to, it's hard to shut up about him. I love talking about my wife, why? Because she's the best, she changed my life. My life is way better than it was when I was single.

Can I get an amen, all the married men? Way better. I can't stop talking about it. I can't stop posting about it. I love my wife, guys, the same way we love the things like that. We also must, at a greater level, love the heavenly father who died for us. Can't shut up about it, why would I? If I knew that what I have could change your life, I have to tell you. Verse four, or chapter 4, 29 says, come see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah? All the town that came out of the town and they made their way towards him. I love verse 39, many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him, why? Because of this woman's testimony. She was amazed, she committed, her life was changed. And then she just couldn't shut up about him. Jesus is worth talking about. I'm not asking you to become a full-time pastor. I'm not asking you every meeting you go into, you say, thus says the Lord. Don't do that, probably not gonna help. A faithful witness is everywhere he goes who just models Jesus. They've started to realize what's different about you. Something's different about you.

And let me just say, that is a perfect opportunity to say, well, I know a man named Jesus and he changed my life. Guys, you were made to be witnesses, missionaries for Jesus because your purpose in life, write this down, your purpose is this, is to know Jesus and to make Jesus known. That's your duty as a Christian. Let me just say, it's actually the least we could do. A man who went public on us on a cross, we could go public for him the way we talk, the way we live, the way we model. Our purpose is to know Jesus and make Jesus known. Many of us are afraid today to witness because we feel like we don't live up to the message. Let me tell you a secret about Jesus is that this, the poster child for our faith is a thief on the cross, not a priest in an ivory tower. The poster child for our faith is the man who was next to Jesus on a cross and he did nothing right and he deserved death. But Jesus said, if you believe in me, and he said, yes, I believe in you, I want to be with you. And he became, in that moment, a Christian. But now we know him as a missionary because we hear this story and it ministers to all of us that a broken man like that can be saved by a perfect God like that. You don't have to be perfect.

The enemy would love for you to think that you have to be perfect. God is not today looking for a perfect witness. No, no, no, he's too smart to look for a perfect witness. He knows we're not perfect. But it's perfect for you to be a witness because you can share about how broken you are and how a God like that could love you and that's the perfect message of the good news is that a good God saved an imperfect man. And that's your job as a Christian to live that way with every head bowed, I wanna pray. The moment you got saved, maybe you're not saved even in this moment, the moment you say yes to Jesus is the moment that you're ready to be a missionary. He's gonna empower you. He's gonna give you courage and strength. I knew about Kava for one day and I became the greatest missionary. Guess what, Jesus is a lot better than that. a lot better than our political affiliation. He's a lot better than what we want to put. He's a lot better than our favorite team winning. He's a lot better than everything. He is everything that we need. If that's you today, maybe you're like, I've been a Christian, but I've not been a missionary. Matter of fact, I've kind of been a bit of an imposter. If that's you today, and you want to say,

today is a day where I actually live out my faith the way God's asked me to do it. And if that's you, I'd love if you just be so bold and lift your hands all across this room. Be so bold. Keep them up. It's amazing. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. You can put your hand down. Maybe there's another group. Here's the truth. You cannot be a witness for his love if you have not witnessed his love. Some of you need to witness the love of a father who sees you despite who you are and says, I still choose you. He's nothing like the people in this world. He's nothing like maybe the broken father or broken parents you've had. He's nothing like that. He's a perfect father. He looks at you and he says, I choose you. And maybe you need to witness his love for the first time today. Maybe it's the first time in a long time. You need to witness his love and then be a witness for his love. If that's you, you want to give your life to Jesus.

You want to say yes and witness his love today. I want you to raise your hand. Be so bold. All across this room, lift it high. Keep those hands up. Thank you, Jesus. I want to know who I could pray for. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, all in the back. Thank you, Jesus. If everybody could just pray this prayer after me. Lord, I love you. And from this day forward, I will live for you. I don't want to live the way I used to live. I want to live your way. I want to be a witness for your goodness, for your love. And God, today I accept you as Lord of my life. I believe that you died and rose again for my life. And I choose this day to serve you for the rest of my life. God, I thank you again. Give me boldness. Give me courage. And in Jesus' name we pray. All of God's people said, amen, amen. Amen. Amen.
