Christmas is more than bright lights and cheer. It's heaven come down, God's love drawing near. This is the greatest love story ever told. The story our souls were made to behold. Long before the manger, before time began, God made the heavens, the seas, and the land. He spoke into darkness, let there be light, and all the creation was good in his sight. God made man and woman, his image displayed, but their hearts chose rebellion. God's plan was betrayed, then sorrow and sickness and death entered in. The world once called good was now broken by sin. But God's love endured, he did not turn away. Through prophets he promised a savior one day. The people kept waiting through silence and night, longing and watching for God's promised light. Then one silent night, the shepherds and fields, angels declared, God's word is fulfilled. The shepherds ran quickly to see the child's face, God's gift of salvation, his mercy, his grace. Yes, love had come down, the long night was done, the light of the world had at last overcome. So lift up your hearts, let the story be told, the savior is born, all come and behold. Oh come, let us adore him, come, let us adore him. Oh come, let us adore him, come, let us adore him. Behold the king has come, the divinity incarnate, creator of the world, breathing our air. Behold what light has come, and the darkened eye containing, the savior of the world is finally here. the wonder of the One who came from Heaven to earth for us. And we're not just here to celebrate a baby in a manger. We're here to celebrate a baby on a throne. Because He rose, He grew up and He lived a righteous, perfect life. Died a sacrificial death and three days later rose again and right now He's seated on that throne. He promises to bring Heaven back with Him. And all the Heavens are surrounding and giving Him glory. So we want to join in in that moment, join in in that worship tonight and give Him a gift of praise. Come on, lift your voice with us. Sing. Come on, lift your voice. Oh Jesus. You deserve the glory. And this sleeping child you're holding is the great, oh, Lamb The great, oh, Lamb Oh, Mary, did you know? When we see the nativity, we often see calm, silent night, gentle night. But if we really look, if we really see, we find a story of sacrifice, struggle, and staggering love. Mary and Joseph traveled miles through dust, danger, and doubt. Mary carried more than a child. She carried the weight of whispers, the shame of suspicion, a virgin yet with child. Joseph carried more than supplies. He carried trust and a dream from God that defied all logic. The shepherds weren't invited to royal banquets. They lived on the margins, forgotten by society. But heaven's announcement came first. to them to the overlooked. Fear not, the angels said. Behold, a Savior has been born. The wise men traveled far, months, maybe years, searching, following to bow before a child who looked nothing like a king. They brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh, not knowing these gifts would point to His crown, His deity, and His death. But the greatest journey was not any of theirs, it was His. Jesus left heaven's glory to step into earth's story. The Word became flesh, God became man, the Creator held by His creation, the infinite wrapped in swaddling clothes. The nativity scene is easy to pass by, but the nativity scene changes everything. See the sacrifice, see the courage, see the miracle, see Emmanuel, God with us. The Son of God arrived, the One who would be called Emmanuel. The promise was to live, to a virgin fly, the One who would be called Emmanuel.
