In our Scripture Jesus directed His disciples to go to the other side of the lake and as they traveled, a sudden violent storm arose, causing them to fear for their lives. When they awoke Jesus from His sleep, He rebuked the winds and calmed the raging waters. He then questioned their faith. We all experience storms in our lives and like the disciples, we may fear that something or someone will be taken from us. But most times, our peace or rest is what is taken. Our faith could also be questioned when we panic and forget to do the things we know to do. We are reminded that nothing catches Jesus by surprise. In fact, at times He allows us to go through storms to build our faith. It is to Him that we should run. We can then rest in knowing that no matter what it looks like, He is in control, and trust that He will reveal Himself in a way that will be in our best interest.
