Who's in Your Corner? | Through the Church
God’s strategy for building meaningful community is the Church, but experiencing it requires us to do our part. In this message, Pastor Aaron challenges us to build stronger relationships by being intentional, choosing vulnerability, and looking for ways to help others. Community doesn’t happen by accident; it happens when we decide to show up and be a part of the church. Thank you for enjoying this full service with worship and a life changing message from Radiant Church. We pray this moves you closer to Christ and encourages you.
Why don't you take out those notes that you got on your way in today? We are a note-taking church We're continuing our series called through the church looking at what God Desires to do in your life and in our community through the church It's all based out of our key passage in the book of Ephesians Where Paul is writing to a church and he says his intent was that now through the what? Come on, help me at all of our campuses through the what through the church This is where the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to rulers and authorities and the heavenly realms According to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. What is he saying? he's saying all that God wants to accomplish in your life and in our community and in the world today happens through the Church, so this whole series is a vision to talk about what God wants to do through your church that you're planted in Radiant Church exists for this mission to help you move towards Christ Community and your calling every single one of you are on this spiritual journey and we're continually moving towards closer to Christ That's what we talked about a couple weeks ago the joy of knowing Jesus of being connected with him And that's a lifelong journey and then connected with community, which is what we'll talk about today And then I'll finish out the series next Sunday talking about your God-given Calling that he has on your life, but to dive into this idea of community I want to give you a message simply titled who's in your corner Who's in your corner? It is vitally important in seasons of your life to evaluate who are the people in your corner? Who's got your back when life is tough, which it is so many times I grew up in the 80s and 90s and we didn't have the WWE we had WWF come on. How many remember the original? WWF the heyday of wrestling and I remember watching this and seeing the Hardy boys and the Dudley boys and and and Macho, man, Randy Savage and and Hulk Hogan. There's nothing like the tag-team wrestling I don't know if you remember tag-team wrestling But tag-team is another level where where you got a partner that's in your corner and and while they're in the ring They're fighting but they're getting beaten up and you think the fight is over as they're getting slammed and they're getting thrown against the net I mean the ring and and they're falling apart and you think it's over I remember watching Hulk Hogan and he's sitting there with his partner there and and I thought it was gonna be over watching this This this wrestling match and by the way, don't tell me it ain't real
Don't ruin my childhood All right, so that was watching this deeply invested in it and I'm thinking it's all over for Hulk Hogan But no, no, what does he do? He stretches out his hand and he tags his partner to come on in and what happens in a partner comes in the fight Ends up not being over now. You have another chance to get through the difficult parts. Isn't that what happens in life? Life throws us the curveball life throws us the bad diagnosis life throws us the worst You better have the right people in your corner And what I have found so crucial in my life is that with the right people in my corner I can get through anything If I don't have the right people in my corner, then even the smallest hiccups in life derail me But what we've got in our world today is we have people that are more Connected through social media than ever before but more isolated and alone than ever before They call it the loneliness epidemic in our world today 2023 study says it this way the US Surgeon General declared that loneliness as a national Epidemic it shows how much is impacting our life I've dug through this study and it shows us that more than half of the US population is now classified as lonely Think of the room that you're in right now Half of the people would considered be considered lonely in life Loneliness is linked to roughly 28% higher risk of heart disease and 32% higher risk of a stroke This next one I thought there's no way it could be true. I did fact-check after fact-check. It's true. Look at this Lacking social connection carries health risk equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day That's a problem. Some of y'all are by yourselves and smoking 15 cigarettes a day. You got a problem. All right double whammy right there That's funny right there Nearly three and five Americans say no one truly knows them What a shame and I would say even with a church our size many of you are showing up and nobody knows who you are What the problems are in your life the potential in your life and we have to do better than that You see this is a problem. That's not new to 2026. It's a problem. That's been around from the very beginning Remember Adam as he's created by God Adam is created by God for God in relationship with God and yet the first thing that God looked at and said was not
good was he looked at him and he says it is not good for man to be alone think how this pushes back against our society that says it's just me and Jesus is enough God would look at that and say no it's not enough it's it's not good you were created and designed for the community of faith you're created to be around each other think about it this way the first problem in the Bible wasn't sin it was solitude it's the first thing that God came up against was people trying to be isolated trying to be alone and people still do it to get today the enemy knows if he can get you isolated he's got you half-beat already it reminds me of National Geographic you'll remember this where they would show us that the predator on the move and you got the wolf here and he's attacking the caribou and what does he do he looks at them and he sees them in their herd and he thinks okay I can't take them all out but what am I gonna do I'm gonna find the one and he looks and he makes cut oh there he is right there look at the little one and look how he gets separated that's some of your spiritual life right there just me and Jesus by ourselves I don't need the church nobody's gonna tell me what to do I'm getting all of my theology from tick-tock there it is and then what do you do you get okay I'm not gonna show you the rest right and you get taken out why do you think you're going through those issues in that cycle again and again and again it's because the you don't have the right people in your life why do you think you you keep getting that spiral in your life it's because the people in your life you show me your friends I'll show you your future your friends are direct correlation to the future that you'll walk into you can evaluate the people in your life and it's prophetic to show you the future that you will walk into that's ahead of you because we're all impacted by the people in our life I wrote it down this way you are a product of the people in your life so we all are a good product of people in our life that has spoken to us in a godly way to help us but we're also a product of the negative people that are in our life the toxic people in our life and this impacts your life more than you can imagine the Bible says you walk with the wise and guess what you become you become wise why because
people impact who you are but a companion of fools suffers harm this is a key verse for you to understand in your life that your life will be marked by wisdom or foolishness based off of one thing the people you surround yourself with and some of you guys you just can't figure out why do I keep getting into the issues I'm in because you don't ever really change your life until you've changed your friends so this whole message is to get you to evaluate your friendships so when I got saved at 16 years old one of the great wisdoms that was given to me by my youth pastor was Aaron you never change your life until you change your friends so you got to separate yourself from these ungodly people that are in your life now I'm not saying we shouldn't be the light of the world and we shouldn't make an impact on our lost friends but your circle really matters who those are that are closest to you really really matters and so I met with my friends I sat down with all of them if you've been around radio for a while you've heard the story I'm disconnected from them and I said I'm going after Jesus y'all can come with me but I ain't going with you and for two years I separated myself from those guys we used to party together we used to drink together we used to do all this stupid stuff together and for two years I went hard after God and then after two years we graduated high school and before we all went off to college they invited me over to a party and I thought you know what I'm strong now I can deal with it now and I showed up to their house and I've never given the details of this story before but show up to their house and and at first I'm like no no I'm standing strong and then after moment after moment after moment I find myself exactly where I was two years ago back to drinking back to doing stupid stuff ruining my reputation why why it wasn't because I wasn't strong it's because hear me out this is vitally important you will never outgrow the impact of peer pressure on your life you never get to a place of strength where people around you don't impact your life so the lie I believe is that I'm strong enough to surround myself with people that aren't going after God like I'm going after God and what it did is it crippled me because none of us are strong enough
to deal with peer pressure in our life that way so what we have to do is we have to not fight peer pressure we have to give into it with the right peer pressure around us that's why the Bible says don't be misled bad company corrupts good character you know why the Bible tells us not to be misled because we are easily misled and because we believe in our mind we're strong enough and the enemy thinks if I could get them to think they can't be influenced then that's the very downfall of that person so you evaluate where you want to go in life by evaluating who are the people you have around you because the people you're around you will dictate the future ahead of you. So how do we get the right community in our life? Well, the Bible tells us in Ephesians that God's manifold wisdom is made known through the church. So that's why the local church is God's strategy for community. So, and I love it. I love it that many of you have great friends at the gym you're at or at the neighborhood that you're at or, man, we're all part of the same little group of moms and we're all connected and it's awesome. But let me tell you, the most important community you're gonna make, the community that has transformed my life more than anything else, is the community of faith amongst the body of Christ. And you're part of the body of Christ. As a believer in Christ, it says, then you are the body of Christ and individual members of it. Meaning that you are a member of the body of Christ.
And that means this, that you need the body and the body needs you. So this is a thing that we need each other. You're created for this community. So I'm gonna show it to you in the book of Mark chapter two. If you have your Bibles, I want you to flip there. I know we've been in Ephesians this entire series, but I want you to open it. Especially if you have a physical Bible, I want you to see this. Mark chapter two. It's an interesting story about the importance of the community in your life. We're gonna pick up in verse one. A few days later, when Jesus entered Capernaum, now we remember Capernaum, this is the place in Galilee where Jesus was raised up. So this is his hometown. People had heard that Jesus had come home. So we know that Jesus was from there. So he had a reputation there. So when Jesus shows up, the crowd shows up. It says they gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door. And he preached the word to them. Now the room was packed out. The room was filled. This is a moment where many of you might feel like this at times where you come to a church and you go,
it's already full. The groups are full. There's not a place for me. That's a lie of the enemy, by the way. The lie of the enemy is there's no place for me. I don't know if I'm welcome here. And then we get to a story in verse three. Look at this. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man. What kind of man was he? Paralyzed man. Now this is important. And he was carried by four of them. So we don't know a lot about this guy, but there's two things we can understand. Number one is that he was paralyzed. Now in that culture, it made it, where if you were paralyzed, you were cursed. It was, man, it must have been a sin you did, so they would ostracize you. They would kick you out of society. They would isolate you. But this man was paralyzed. But he also, we know the second thing is that he had the right friends. He had the right friends in his life because he was carried by at least four people right there in the story. So he had an issue, but he did not let his issue define his life.
He still surrounded himself with the right community. Can I just tell you that is vitally important for your life. Some of you are letting your issue define you instead of getting the right community around you that'll actually push you towards Jesus to walk in the calling that God has for your life. And that's what this man did. He had the right community around him. And they said in verse four, look at this. Since they could not get to him, get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof. Think about these friends. They get to the house, it's filled up, there's people sitting outside, and they go, hey, we're not letting anything stop us. Let's get on the roof. Can you imagine Jesus there? He's sitting there talking, everybody's listening to him, and then they hear the roof start to shake and break through. It's like the original Santa Claus, you know what I mean, coming through the roof. And they're in this moment, and then all of a sudden the roof opens up, and look what it says. And Jesus, and above Jesus, by digging through it, and they lowered the man, lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw, whose faith? Notice he didn't say the man on the mat's faith.
Sometimes you don't even have the faith to carry you, but that's why you have the right community in your lives. Come on, I know there's times in my life where I'm frustrated, and I'm down, and I don't have the right people, you know, the voices in my own mind that are speaking negative, but you know what I do? I call some godly friends, some godly mentors, some pastors in my life, and the right voices will move me towards Jesus. You gotta have the right people in your life. And he says, Jesus solved their faith. He says, son, your sins are forgiven. I tell you, take up your mat and go home, and he got up and he took up the mat and walked out in full view of all of them. I love that. I love that confidence. Look what God did in my life. I'm walking out of this place, and this amazed everyone, and they praised God, saying, we've never seen anything like this. By the way, can I just get your confidence up? You get in the presence of Jesus, around the right people of Jesus, you'll walk out with a miracle in your life, and the world will watch it. The world will celebrate it. The world will praise God, because if God can do it in your life,
it gives them hope that God can do it in their life, too. So how do we cultivate this faith in our lives? Let me give you three things, I think they'll help you today, of how do we become this person? that cultivates that kind of community to move each other towards Jesus. Number one is you gotta be intentional. You gotta be intentional. Intentionality is vital to making friendships happen in the local community of faith. Because everybody's waiting on somebody to initiate. And if you keep waiting around, then eventually you're gonna be frustrated. Nobody cares. Nobody's inviting me over. Nobody's initiating. Here's my challenge for you, then you do it. If you want a friend, be a friend. If you want community, be the community. Well, nobody's friendly here. Well, then be friendly. Smile. If you're happy and you know it, tell your face. Do you know what I mean? Let's just be that church that is excited about doing this. Well, nobody invites us out for coffee. Well, then you be the person. Invite them out to our, give somebody's number.
I just saw you during worship. You were checking them out, seeing if they're single already. Might as well get their number. Come on, somebody. Let's cultivate some community in this place. Think about this guy who is paralyzed in our story, but we don't know the backstory. So can we play around with it for a little bit? Because obviously he had some community. If you were paralyzed in that day and time, you were considered cursed. So you would have been outside of the city, outside disconnected. But somehow this guy had community. Can I just say it this way? The reason this guy had community is because before he was paralyzed, he had friends. So let me just say it this way. The key is to invest in friendships before you need them. Some of you are waiting around for the friendships when times get tough. But really, you have to understand, times are going to get tough in the future anyway, so you might as well invest in the friendships now. Don't wait for you to be in crisis to run towards the right community. We need each other, and you're gonna need them sooner rather than later,
so you might as well invest in it now. Not because it's transactional, but because while you're healthy, they might be sick and they might need you. And there might be a time that you get sick and you're gonna need them. And I'm so grateful for the family of faith because I've seen this in action when people invest in community and they invest in groups and they're serving on the team, and then all of a sudden, crisis happens in your life, and a grandparent gets sick, or you get a bad diagnosis, or you lose your job. What is it? It's the community of faith that rallies around each other. The Bible says two are better than one. Why? Because they have a good return on their labor. Look at this verse. Because if any of them falls down, and we all fall down at times, they can help each other up. I don't know about you, but I'm so grateful for the friends in my life, for the people that I do life with here at Radiant that help me up through life's hardest times. But then look what he says. But pity the one who falls down and has nobody to help them up. I look at the world when they go through crisis
and tragedy and trauma, and I pity them that they don't have the family of faith like we have. And you go, well, I just haven't seen that in the family of faith. Then dive all into it. Be intentional about it. When we talk about launching groups, then just show it to the group. When we talk about the dream team, join the dream team. Why? Because be intentional about getting together and connected with the body of Christ. Let me just pause this for a second. And I'm going really quick today, because we got a lot of people to get baptized in just a few minutes. But let me just say this. This is why it is vitally important that your children and your teenagers are in church. Because who they surround themselves with will eventually dictate the future of their life. So let me just say this, because this is so vitally important. I think many of us don't understand what all goes behind the scenes, and the next gen at Radiant. So this is a vision series. So let me just take a few minutes. And there's a table in all of our four years,
lobbies on the way out, so that if you want more information about anything, when it comes to your child being involved, or you being involved in a serving, you can stop there on the way out. But all of this starts in Radiant Kids. Our Radiant Kids is not childcare. It's not babysitting. It is ministry to this next generation, where they're hearing the truth of Jesus, that moving their life towards Christ, community, and calling at their level. And this is an unbelievable ministry of impacting that next generation. And I'm telling you, your children need to be in it. I did a video a couple weeks ago that was put online, and it went mega viral all over the world. And this video was about the importance of raising your children in church. So one lady wrote me, an amazing lady in our church. She says, well, I love having my kids in church, but my kids love to come to big church. And I'm like, well, I get that. I used to love to come to big church growing up too. I said, but here's the problem, is they can come and they can get content, they just can't get community in here. Because they need some friends. They actually need a mentor that can speak into their life. So let your kids sit in church, it's awesome.
But make sure they're connected with Radiant Kids, because it'll deeply impact their life. And so our Radiant Kids. it forms them up and then we get to 456 was our fourth and sixth grade and they're being developed and get into groups and get in community and then it goes into radiant youth and radiant youth is a game-changer by the way middle school and high school is the most vital years of a person's life and most people make their decisions to follow Christ and their worldview in that middle school and high school years and our team is massively intentional about making sure your teenager is connected in community because I'm telling you again the right friends the right mentor they'll get to the right destination that God has for them and it's wild because you can tell them something and they don't listen but some youth leader will tell them and they'll go okay that's right we need that that's why my kids might have two of my kids that are in middle school and high school and guess what every Wednesday night we're driving them to church not because I'm the pastor but because I care about their spiritual health and you know what it is a inconvenience a hundred percent of the time every time we have to drive through traffic takes us about 25 minutes to drop our kids at this youth service and we sit there we drop them off and then we got to wait around or do something and then we come back and we drop them off or we carpool with some people in our neighborhood to get up there and why it's an inconvenience but also it's a massive investment because my kids are in the community of faith I mean two of them this morning they were talking about they went and got gifts yesterday because two of their friends that they know in youth group are getting baptized today and they wanted to celebrate their friends getting baptized because that's what we do we are part of the community of faith so you make that a massive importance for their life so there's by the way there are sports that we won't sign up for just because they take away from Wednesday nights because it's that important that my kids are raised up in the house of God here's a third one is
then from youth from youth we bring them into youth camp and by the way let me just say it this way youth camp is a vital thing for the development of your teenager and if your kids are not going to youth camp let me just tell you it's July 12th to the 16th we're partnering with passion camp next summer and passion camp is a game-changer 6,000 teenagers will gather at Daytona Beach and our will bring hundreds of teenagers from radiant and we'll gather them from all these campuses we'll have a middle school group and a high school group 7th through 12th grade and this is a unbelievable time for your teenagers to get poured into to have encounters with God it'll change their life so I'm saying this to say you're you're you know what 10 months out start planning now start saving now I will say this it is expensive but again it's not an expense it's an investment in their life and I'll just say this for everybody that's watching at every campus let it be known there will not be one teenager at radiant church that wants to go to camp but cannot go to camp because of money not one our church will make it happen where they get to camp this year for the glory of God can we give God some praise for the generosity of our church there's a there's some of you that have given tens of thousands of dollars and it's sitting in a fund just for teenagers to get to church the kid to camp because it will change their lives so parents mark it on your calendars make it a big deal get them registered you get a register today at the at the table on the way out and then it doesn't stop with high school because then we have a whole young adults ministry and our RYA ministry is amazing and college is coming back you know friends that are here that are connected with college you get them connected there's hundreds of people that are in groups on on Monday and Tuesday throughout the week and then we have our RYA service every every month it is amazing ministry your church cares about the next generation we are intentional about it and I say that to say there are hundreds of dream teamers that are serving in our church in next generation from radiant kids radiant youth radiant young adults can we honor those dream team because they serve so faithfully and they're so amazing we love you guys
so much we're intentional number two we're vulnerable so you you'd be vulnerable meaning you don't have to act like you got it all together that church culture where we just go how are you doing I'm blessed and highly favored like I thought you just lose your job oh the Lord gives and takes away can I just say without love we don't have to be that that group we don't we could be honest like hey how are you doing it's not a good day that's okay you can talk about it not every day it's cloud nine can we be that vulnerable group where we're honest with one another the Bible says we put off falsehood look at this verse in Ephesians chapter 4 and speak truthfully to your neighbor for we're all members of one body what a beautiful verse we're members of the body of Christ you don't have to impress us and for so many years I thought my job was to impress the other people in church and I realized I can either impress them by being fake or I can be honest with them and I can actually get healed think of our guy in our story he had his friends come around hey you heard Jesus is in town yeah but you know what I'm okay where I'm at aren't you grateful that this man got vulnerable enough to say hey put me on a mat it's gonna embarrass me me but you know what it's what it needs to know I can get my miracle I think so many times we surround ourselves with people that coddle us instead of confront us and what you got is you got a bunch of people that'll enabling the issues in your life and I've just told my friends hey if you're in my corner you're no longer there to enable me you're there to empower me to be who God's called me to be so call me out on my issues let me know where I'm messed up speaking to my life in a real way cuz this is where real life change comes so when we launch our groups in just a couple weeks you show up that group and you'd be vulnerable with them now we call it appropriate vulnerability meaning we want to know your issues we just don't need to know every detail of them all right so so do you know what it means to cross the line okay so hey my spouse and I are having some problems you know that's appropriate inappropriate vulnerability is let me just make a PowerPoint of all my
spouse's issues okay so you know what I mean you know what it is to cross that line and you just be be appropriate and your vulnerability because hear me out hear me out radiant it is not weakness to ask for help it is wisdom and if you've got an issue in your life that it is your responsibility to be vulnerable enough to open up to the people of God around you to say I need help and it is when we humble ourselves and we ask for help that God actually uses the community of faith to bring us towards the one that can solve everything which is Jesus you can't get there alone but hear me out you were never called to get there alone that's why he planted us in the church think about this guy this guy had two legs that were broken and he could have made every excuse why he couldn't get to Jesus but instead he had some friends that he was vulnerable with and his friends carried him how many friends helped him for how many legs total now eight eight good legs compared to his two broken legs messed up legs the guy went from messed up paralyzed to spider-man eight legs why because he had the right community around him be vulnerable and watch how God will use it to heal your life number three here's your last one will close with this is you got to be helpful here's you know what here's what this means it's not only do you need people to help carry you to Jesus but make sure you are somebody that is carrying other people to Jesus I just wrote it down this way your community either brings you closer to Christ or draws you away from him it's always one of those two so I'm constantly evaluating the friends of my life the people in my life are they drawing me closer to Jesus are they pulling me pulling me away now hear me out on everybody at every campus I know you're taking notes and I want you to lean in can you put that note back on the screen just one more time I said your community either brings you closer to Christ or draws you away from them can I just challenge you with this you are either bringing your community closer to Christ or away from them every one of you are bringing the people in your life closer to Jesus or away from them nobody's neutral so be the person that does not let people sit in their issue but you say no Jesus can provide the solution to whatever you're going
through and draw them towards Christ you can do that in your life by the way today we have hundreds of people getting baptized I know many in our service right now so I'm gonna release them to get baptized because we're gonna celebrate with them ask the community of faith as they are making this intentional decision to say we're going closer to Jesus so radiant at all of our campuses can we celebrate those who are getting baptized today it's a big deal very proud of y'all very proud of y'all half of the building it's getting baptized today it's amazing I just want to speak to those who are watching online I know many of you are online because maybe you've traveling and stuff that's totally normal but you need to be in a community of faith even if you're part of radiant online you've got to be in a community of faith so being in a group being connected don't live isolated you'll never walk into the calling that God has for you and it kind of just say it this way and there's something on your life that the body of Christ needs you're an important part of this community of faith we need you so how do how do we need you two things that everybody can do number one is you can join the dream team the dream team is a way for you to use your gifts to draw other people to Christ. So you say, I don't even know any laws. I don't even know how to help. Well, how do you help? You help by joining the Dream Team. Many of you might have served for years before, but you've stopped. So this is your time to just lean in, serve on the team, watch what happens as you use the gifts on your life. To get community, you're gonna find some great friends. There's so many people that found their spouse on the Dream Team, and they've gotten connected
with the calling of God in their life. But also, it's your way of really pointing others toward Jesus. And the second thing is, you can lead a group. Leading a group is vitally important, because leading a group is your way of creating a map to carry other people to Jesus. And I get the frustration, many of you are going, I wish Radiant had a group for this Bible study, or this age, or this demographic, or this young families, or this people that are in their seniors, and I just wish they did. Well, then hear me out. Everybody look, you were appointed, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you need to go lead it. And watch what God will do through your life. I know the lie that we all think. We all think the lie like the man did for I don't know how long, where we sit in our issue and we think, there's no room in the house. Can you imagine the obstacles as they go to pick him up? Oh, I can't get there, there's no room. They get to the house, there's people all around it. Some of y'all feel like that at Radiant. You get there and like, oh, the parking, there's no room and it's crazy. And here's what he had to understand that you have to understand in life. You've got to recognize that every person has a place in the presence of Jesus.
No matter your background, no matter your failure, no matter your insecurity, no matter your sin, every person has a place in the presence of Jesus. Your sins have not disqualified you. God is inviting you to come and be made resident, be connected in the presence of Jesus because that's where life is found. That is where freedom is found. That's where healing is found. And you have a place in the presence of Jesus. Years ago, I was doing an event for the Chamber of Commerce in Tampa. Now, it was for the mayor, they were doing this big breakfast and so they had me do the invocation before the prayer, before the breakfast. And it's where you do the prayer. I'm sitting at this VIP's table because I have my little part there. And I'm sitting with this guy next to us, he's a big attorney in town. And I remember him looking at me, it's just you're making awkward conversation before the thing starts. And he goes, so what do you do? I love that question, by the way. I said, I'm a pastor, I'm a preacher. He goes, oh, by the way, I'm sorry for what I said. They're always apologize, right? I didn't mean to say what I said.
And I said, oh, no, it's not a big deal, it's all good. And then I said, well, I got to know him a little bit. And I looked at him and I said, you need to come to my church. And then he says this phrase and I'll never forget. He looked at me, he goes, trust me, you don't want people like me in your church. And I responded, people like you are exactly who Jesus wants in the church. What did he mean? He meant people with sin, people with baggage, people with struggles. You see, we count ourselves out. Jesus says, no, there's always room. And it might be difficult to get there, but I'm just telling you, sometimes you got to make a hole through the roof. Sometimes you got to inconvenience your schedule. Sometimes you got to show up at 6 a.m. Sometimes you got to join the group. Sometimes you got to lead the group. But I just want you to know, there's always place for you in the presence of Jesus. Can we be that community that just always pushes people a little bit further to the presence of Jesus? Because that's where freedom is found. Let's close our eyes all over the room. Just before we baptize people, I just want you to ask yourself a really serious question. Do you have the right people in your corner?
Do you have the right people around you? Have you surrounded yourself with some toxic people or some ungodly people and you're letting them influence your life? Just make a decision before God. God, this semester, this is my semester to go all in on godly community, the right people in my corner. Just make that commitment between you and Jesus right now. Some of you need to repent for constantly going back, for having so many giftings that God's put inside of you, but not using those giftings to impact the world around you. This is your time to step up and join the dream team or serve in the church or lead a group. Just make that commitment between you and Jesus right now. God, I'm gonna use my life to make a mat to carry people to Jesus for your glory and honor in Jesus' name.
